(4/10) Alive Ulla AU part 10

Hey, I skipped an important part...., this is how I imagined Ulla staying with Quirin

Yes, Ulla met Quirin , he keep his secret agent missions along the Brotherhood, and asked her to go home.

Donella would try to sell her products secretly around, there were two posible clients, typical insurrectionist group and a cult planning to rob the Moonstone

But Ulla would crack at her camp on whatever time to ask her for love and professional advise.

Donella would hide her real merchandise and let Ulla see the fake products, cutlery, and offer Ulla settler if needed if she they stayed on the Dark Kingdom

But please, bring groceries and keep a schedule, Donella don't like surprises on the back, Ulla agreed.

She keep trying to reach Quirin, convince him about getting his freedom from this militar life and reconnect with his family heritage.

He told her he is orphan, no family heritage, she told him he is Demanitus' offspring, he kind of got interested but not later resigned, asking to be leaved alone, he just would like to have a life as simple as possible, the Brotherhood is all he knows and all he needs, please respect his choices and his secrets.

She confess she is in love with him and she really doesn't want to leave him, no matter if he is not an alchemist like her or not interested in her interests, he is getting attached and falling in love , but he is also a men of compromises and secrets, so he let her chose, if she want to stay on his side, it has to be a secret.

She thought about it, and came to the conclusion she would keep the secret, so , she asked for time to go and tell her parents (plus Xavier) who were waiting for her outside the kingdom to not wait for her anymor.

Why shouldn't they? Because she will stay with Donella, she is really invested on a project, not lies, they wish her well, and her parents are trusting, they will scort Xavier to Corona and also ask her no to forget she is welcome home whenever she likes.

And if she will stay longer on whatever other foreigner kingdom, please spare Yuletide/Christmas to visit them at Pittsford , Ulf as well agreed to this, family shouldn't forget their love to each other.

She thanked them, but as well, they wouldn't go that simple, they would throw a little goodbye party as they did with Ulf and his friends at Nesdernia, tomorrow they would buy the supplies and next day they would celebrate.

Would Quirin attend? No, his existence is a secret, would Donella attend? Of course, she is the best friend, the reason Ulla is staying, would only her attend? Donella suggest Ulla to find some people in town so this doesn't become a pity party, Ulla find this as a joke and has no problem inviting the groceries sellers she befriended.

They get everything ready, have their little feast and say their goodbyes.

Time to go back to the camp, Ulla trying to befriend and help the brotherhood, Quirin being scolded by Hector and teased by Adira for not expulsing her.

Ulla is being actually helpful with the power of alchemy, even if she doesn't get details about the secret missions, she provides resourceful tools

Every time she goes back to Donella's place, she spills the beans with her BFF, supposing she is her confident and is not even involved on this things, she is glad Don looks interested instead of non believing.

Donella uses that information to offer better products to her clients to defeat the brotherhood, but that's not free, she is making a fortune, they think she is a higher mistress of divination and science.

These clients are getting poor soon, but they don't give up, they payed for the information, now they have to save enough money for buying the armory and weapons.

The insurrectionist and cults stepped back, finally the brotherhood is at peace, all the royals, and due to that, there is an important announcement, a baby is coming, the queen was hiding it, but she had been pregnant since 7 months ago, people pray to the accents kings and warriors for the health of the soon to be prince or princess.

Brotherhood missions are now around the castle, and they always endup having a night shift taking care of the queen, and Ulla is tagged along, due to her help before.

During those days, Ulla asked Quirin is he ever wanted to have a child, have a family or settle down, he says that's not up to him, he has a duty to do as agent of the government/royals, and that's for life as long as he is needed.

She ask if can he renounce, and he answers that would be treason, so no, this is his life as long as the royals find use in him, she answers that indeed, she is in love with him, but she-

In this one the reader is part of The Brotherhood and they all got split up on missions. It made more sense to me that way. Also I can't find a gif where he looks happy lmaoooooo

Those words danced on the tip of his tongue. Hector brushed back a braid semi-selfconsciously. There was nobody around, of course. He had made sure of that. He needed to be alone to mope, and mope he had.

The circumstances surrounding the Dark Kingdom and the Moonstone grew more and more dire every day.

He knew you could handle it, of course. He had never doubted your ability to handle what was thrown at you. It was one of the things he loved about you. (Though quite frankly all members of The Brotherhood could handle things, you were different. You were his).

It was all growing to be too much. The loss of you compounded with the recent stressors in his life led him to sink to his knees on the first floor. He clutched at the moss nearby and stifled a scream within it. He just wanted you. He wanted to feel your lips on his again, he wanted to hear your laughter as he picked you up and hugged you, he wanted to look into your eyes again, he wanted he wanted he wanted一

There was no time for pity, grief, or mourning. He had work to do. He had to push his thoughts together; he could not fight while his mind was so disorganized.

Hector steeled himself and sheathed his sword. His lips curled up into a small snarl. This would not last forever. It could not last forever. He would be returned to you once more. It had to be so.

And remember him or not, sundrop, he would make his way back to you.

🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕

This was taking much longer than he thought. How long had it been already? Months? Years? Eons? All he had to tide himself over were letters from you. When he wasn’t guarding the moonstone, Hector was furiously writing back to you. He told you all about the interlopers who just wouldn’t get why the Moonstone was so important and about the animals he had tamed. It was not necessarily a hard task that he was given but he enjoyed hearing your concern through your letters. If he tried hard enough, he could almost feel you kissing his cheek gently in consolation.

It would be enough to read your letters, he supposed. For your sake and his, he would keep writing. You had your job and he had his.

🌕 🌖 🌗 🌘 🌑 🌒 🌓 🌔 🌕

It was over. The Moonstone, Cassandra, being possessed by said Moonstone by said handmaiden . . . it was all over.

Hector let his sword swing loosely from his fingertips. If Adira saw him now, she would have said that this was the first public display of happiness he’d shown in years.

“Hector?”

He spun on his heel.

There you were, his sundrop, his moonflower, his darling, his beloved . . . !

He threw himself into your arms. There were tears, though whether they were yours or his he couldn’t tell. The sun shone onto your face and made you look vibrant and alive.

“I missed you!” you cried. You cupped his face with your hands and chuckled with unabashed delight when he picked you up. You looked even more perfect than the last time he had seen you.

A chuckle came from Hector. Then another. Then another until he was finally laughing with glee. There was a touch of histeria in his laughter. “My beloved, my sundrop. You don’t know how much I wanted to go find you. Kiss me now, what are you waiting for?”

You kissed him, finally. You kissed him like he was the moon and you were the sun, like you were the sun and he was the moon, like you were two lovers separated across the cosmos for eons and eons, never reaching each other until blessedly falling into each other’s orbit.

He pulled away to gaze into your eyes. Those were the same eyes that he remembered.

Things had changed, yes. But you? You were still his beloved. Even the scariest hurt handmaiden couldn’t tear the two of you apart.

Dark Kingdom Sh*t for My AU

So since my au has the folks of Old Corona as DK refugees and I introduced their culture in the first “episode” of my fic, I decided to make a post dedicated to the culture of the DK (won’t give context for all of it because spoilers...that I already posted but whatever)

(Sidenote: In my au, the DK is called the Lunar Kingdom, or Lunara, so that’s what I will be calling it here unless I am referencing something from the show. The culture will also be pretty affected by my au, so this is half DK headcanons, half Lunara facts. There’s also a lot of moon themed shit)

Anyways:

- The DK looks cold. The moon is cold and also at night. Which is cold. Lunara is cold. Also a lot of the Brotherhood wear what look like furs & stuff. Conclusion: Lunarans hunt a lot and wearing pelts/furs is a major cultural thing

- Common staples of Lunaran clothing are deerskin shirts/skirts, leather gloves/boots/armguards/belts, fur boots, fur coats/overgarments, animal hats, pelt scarves, and most prominently: cloaks

- In relation to this, cloaks are also seen as important, and when someone reaches the age of 15, they get a special cloak. Even before this, people tend to wear cloaks a lot, just not ones with a special significance. Some people won’t wear their cloak very often, but still have it available for personal and ceremonial purposes. It is pretty sacred and special to a lot of people, even when they don’t wear theirs often

- (On that note, CG!Varian must have felt a certain way when he spent his 15th birthday in jail. Especially without any other Lunarans around. Oof)

- Another major tradition is once a year, on a special day called Heritage Day, all ten-year-olds will go to the palace and see the Moonstone for the first time. This is a very special occasion for each Lunaran, and a day many remember for the rest of their lives

- Houses are almost always made of stone, particularly gray colored stones

- Glass is a pretty big Thing™ in Lunara. A lot of important ceremonial and culturally significant items tend to be made of glass, which is why, for example, they do stain glass windows instead of paintings. Other examples of glass items common in Lunaran culture are glass bowls, glass windchimes, glass lenses, decorative glass, glass moon figurines, etc. etc.

- Lunara is kinda religious compared to, say, Corona, as they have a more direct connection to a god-like force and literally live around it. The Moonstone affects their entire homeland, and in my au, the CG are seen as basically gods. So they lowkey worship it

- That’s why there’s a lot of moon themed stuff in Lunaran culture. The Moonstone started their kingdom, so it is the centerpiece of their culture

- Lunarans are really into art, and artists are an important part of the community for religious and cultural reasons

- Lunarans do not have traditional gender roles, as there are other genders besides man and woman. I will not list them here because they are hard to explain and I would need to do it later

- Most major Lunaran holidays are related to special lunar events, such as blue moons, blood moons, and super moons, as well as solar eclipses. But three of the most major Lunaran holidays are the Winter Solstice, Landing Day, and Moonrise Day

- The Winter Solstice is huge, and involves huge parties, parades, and general festivals in which people stay up all night. Even those outside Lunara find the Winter Solstice to be very important, and preparations for it will take days

- Landing Day commemorates the day that the Moonstone landed on Earth, and people often treat it like a giant birthday party for the Moonstone. They also use this day to remember Lunara’s history and ancestors

- Moonrise Day is a bit more serious, but still hopeful. People will spend a lot of time praying and giving offerings to the moon/the Moonstone. It’s basically a day of people hoping the Moonstone may regain its ability to transform

- I will think of more stuff later when I remember what makes a culture and write the things down

(I partially made this list after discovering @lavasewers blog and realizing that I should probably write stuff down. This is also my way of throwing my headcanons at them. Feel free to pick and choose which ones apply to the DK)
