And if I'm wrong, I will be so sad :') BUT THAT'S OKAY they don't need to meet in canon for them to be perfect.

nOTP: I could just take the easy route and say k*luc but honestly I hate every other ship involving Kaeya because I have ship blinders on for every ship I'm really invested in. I Do Not Perceive them with other characters.

random headcanon: Kaeya can't cook and from the fact that he grew up with a rather privileged life, I like to think he'd learn a lot from Childe about how to take care of himself. Also that Kaeya sneaks Childe into the Favonius Headquarters barracks from time to time...

unpopular opinion: hmm. I feel like people dismiss Kaeya as a jerk at times but forgive other characters for being jerks in the exact same way/dismiss him as an irrelevant starter character. He started his apprenticeship too young and Dewclaw didn't want him to die, so she took him to Batstar's clan and asked him to raise him instead. So right now, Sally is in the middle of getting a face change again (I love Holland but I'm changing her to Kat McNamara who works better age-wise) so don't be surprised if I start posting updated gifsets (both her and my other babe MJ are getting new faces actually).

She's Hopper's oldest daughter, so Sara's older sister. After moving to Hawkins she befriends Jonathan and becomes very close with the Byers, with Will becoming like a surrogate little sibling (it's a very sweet dynamic) and Joyce becoming the closest thing Sally has to a mom.

She's an aspiring horror writer, along the lines of Stephen King and very independent. After the events of season one, once anything weird happens the whole partyy is typically like "yes we would like our mother, Sally, to come take care of this." Basically her and Steve are the party parents and Sally don't tolerate anyone messing woth her kids. As in "Stay the hell away from my kids: is literally a line she says in canon.

She's an artist, which is something she and Will bond over. She also becomes very close with Eleven, naturally. Like Sally is just a good big sister y'all.

She's an avid horror fan and works at the video store from the very beginning which basically means regular movie nights with Jonathan. Really, Sally is a ride or die friend, and it's kind of sad to me that we won't have as many chances to show the Jally brotp moving forward in the series since they're gonna be separated a lot of the time but rest assured, Sally and Jonathan are and stay best friends. Is there some jealousy with Argyle later? Maybe, you'll have to wait and see.

Basically Sally's whole vibe is action movie hero girl meets final girl and I love that for her. She is a fight first, ask questions later kinda girl.

As for Sally and Steve. I love them. I am a simo for them. Basically they're the best team, and they're simps for each other. She has all the braincells admittedly, but he is much better at navigating emotions so it works out.

Why I like them: honestly what's not to like about Stan?? He's such a little sweetheart. He loves his friends so dearly and is an extremely compassionate person. He always wants to better himself and the world around him, and even though his plans to do that usually backfire, he still tries again and again. He's just all around a really great kid and I love him.

Why I don’t: it's not that I dislike these qualities of his, but sometimes his cynicism is too effective and it can bum me out a little. "you're getting old" and "ass burgers" are two of my favorite episodes, but damn if it isn't sad seeing Stan like that.

Favorite season/movie: hmm it's hard to pick because Stan is obviously such a central character and I have a LOT of favorite episodes across the seasons, but I'd say either seasons five, six or nine!! I think I have the most amount of favorites from those seasons.

Favorite line: I really love this quote from "the biggest douche in the universe": At first I thought you were all just stupid, listening to this douche's advice, but now I understand that you're all here because you're scared. You're scared of death and he offers you some kind of understanding. You all want to believe in it so much, I know you do. You find comfort in the thought that your loved ones are floating around trying to talk to you, but think about it: Is that really what you want? To just be floating around after you die, having to talk to this asshole? We need to recognize this stuff for what it is: magic tricks. Because whatever's really going on in life and in death is much more amazing than this douche.

Head Canon: I think I already said the poetry headcanon so here's another one in the same "Stan is talented" category: Stan's a pretty great musician!! he keeps up the guitar as he ages, and learns to play the piano. He buys a little keyboard when he's in high school and he spends hours just practicing because he loves it. He doesn't really write music very often, but instead he focuses on teaching himself the classics because he finds them very calming.

Unpopular opinion: lmao okay so I actually love the extremely overexposed trope of depressed and/or alcoholic Stan. It kinda makes me sad that it's so hated, but I get why people dislike it. I do agree that sometimes it's done in ways that I don't care for and it can become... fetish-y, for lack of a better word. But overall?? I really like it. I think it's interesting and relatable and it's a guilty pleasure trope of mine. Sometimes reading a fic about depressed, self-sabotaging Stan is a comfort tactic 🤧

(me again) i went and read the chapter with the market scene and you're right they did changed it quite a bit, also agree WHERE IS THE GILBERT AND HODGINS BROPT IN THIS EP...ahem, and if you dont mind i'm gonna ask: what were your thoughts on gil and violets relationship this ep?

Yeah, I mean, Violet and Lux are great but the best BroTP of this series is Gil and Hodgins, hands down. Also gotta take this opportunity to say that anime!Hodgins just keeps straying farther from his novel counterpart. “As always, you don’t understand women” my ass. He’s a gentleman in canon. And his sexuality has yet to make itself known in the anime too. It feels like KyoAni is trying hard to make him straight. If we don’t at least get to see the scene of him seducing John, I’m calling bullshit.

Okay, on to my impressions on anime!Gilbert and anime!Violet… it’s a lot to talk about, which is why it took me so long to reply. I’m just… so mad that I’ve become numb, lol. I gotta go reread chapter 6 to cleanse my soul.

Maybe I should start with Violet. The amount of emotion she’s showing is ridiculously disproportional, as always. Her assertions that Gil is definitely fine and that everyone is lying to her are too irrational and going all the way to Dietfriet to ask about Gil was plain weird. I also don’t like how her child self acted as if she had to be “tamed” by Gil, like he had to earn her trust. He was afraid of her at first in canon, while she was the one who chose him as her master.

Speaking of emotion, I felt next to nothing while watching this episode. The whole thing seems to be as lacking as the previous ones, even though it should have been the most emotionally compelling part of the story. Everything is badly explained and everyone just goes along with the flow like they’re string dolls. It’s forced and feels unnatural. For example, Violet’s first meeting with Gil. His brother literally comes to him with a skinny, ravaged-looking child that he was keeping in a potato sack and goes “I’m giving this weapon to you” without any further explanation on where he found her and what exactly she is, and all Gil says is “I understand; I will take her in”. Like????? What the fuck???????

The world-building is also in need of more detail. A lot of things seem out of place. For instance, the navy and the army don’t seem to be hostile towards one another in the anime, and there was no mention of Dietfriet having cut his ties with everyone in the family save for Gil.

I’m also shaken by the fact it seems Gil is hiding from everyone in the anime, including his family. If so, then that’s a major plot hole. I mean, how would he have convinced everyone at work to simply lie to his relatives that he had died? It’s a literal crime. And if he didn’t do that, the only thing I can think of is that he made his entire family lie that he was dead, and even went as far as requesting a fake grave. Either way is heartless as shit. The first one would probably be the worst of all, because imagine him coming back home after Violet finds out that he was actually alive like “LMAO JUST KIDDING”. I would also like to stress that, if the second option is true, that would make Hodgins and Dietfriet pretty OOC. Hodgins because he should be sadder if he really thinks his one and only best friend died in war, and Dietfriet because, if he thought that Gilbert was dead, he would have done anything in his power to kill Violet for failing to protect him (though Dietfriet is already OOC for not being as much of a softie with Gil as he is in canon). But of course, there’s always the third option of KyoAni deciding to say “fuck it all” and killing off Gilbert. At this point, I’d rather have them do that.

Anime!Gil is just too awful, lol. In the novel, he finds himself at several dead-ends as to leaving Violet to someone else’s care, but none of them are being presented in the anime. He’s cold as hell too. He arrives home with Violet like “yeah, you just give her a bath or something and don’t tell anyone about her” as if it’s none of his business. Also, anime!Gil had never seen Violet fighting, so I have no idea how she ended up killing those guys in the training barracks. He could have just said that his brother had made a mistake or something, because any sane person would at least be asking “what are you on” when being told that a thin little girl is a weapon without any further detail.

No idea why Gil didn’t just leave Violet in an orphanage if he didn’t know of her abilities. Plus, felt like he didn’t want to send her to war not because she was a literal child, but because she wouldn’t be useful enough since she’s “too unstable”. He disobeys orders from his superiors to back his claim, which is as odd as Violet disobeying orders from him (unless he’s dying). But even weirder than that was Gil teaching Violet how to read and write. I mean, if he went as far as giving her an education, she was basically ready to live somewhere else like a normal kid. He could have ordered her to forge her own death and sent her to Tiffany and Patrick. So yeah, another plot hole.

About the aforementioned market scene, I’m so full of salt, lmfao. I hated so much that Gil said he was grateful for Violet’s deeds until he realized how fucked-up that is and stopped talking. Just what in all the nine hells? He was basically making a child risk her life and get a shitton of injuries not for the country, but for himself, since he was the only person she fought for. Anime!Gilbert is a complete imbecile, and his charm of “stoic on the outside, actually melted butter on the inside” and “young dad doing his best to raise his adopted daughter and failing marvelously” have pretty much disappeared.

What also disappeared were Violet’s war merits. She’s not as awesome as in the novel, so obviously her nicknames (“Warrior Maiden”, “Leidenschaftlich’s Witch”, etc) are unwarranted, and Gilbert is the one who fires the signal flare of victory instea of her. It doesn’t seem like she has as big of a role either, and we also don’t see how any of her fellow soldiers treat her aside from Gil and Hodgins. There’s no scene whatsoever displaying how Gil was the only person who treated Violet for what she was, a child, while others would either harass her verbally, try to molest/spy on her or not want to get involved with her at all.

We can’t forget how everyone’s fear became true: no Witchcraft. KyoAni wrote it off. I just wanna know why. Just give me a reason, Ishidate. I need an explanation for that one.

Aaaand… this has been a small glimpse of my bottomless disgust for this adaptation. Anyone who wants to e-mail Kyoto Animation requesting a remake has my full support.

what i like about them: perfectly self-aware of himself: knows what his strengths + capabilities are and also his weaknesses + flaws, along with his morals + ideals + character. nope, any form of psychological bullshit won’t work on him. he’s absolutely aware of what he’s capable of doing and he’s not in denial about his shortcomings at all… what he does with that knowledge and what he plans to do about it is more of the question.

what i dislike about them: while flamel has a condescending air about him, he actually does not look down on people and he acknowledges others’ capabilities + character, even if they’re better than his own. that’s the problem: he knows or at least he has a general idea of a person’s capabilities + character, and what he dislikes the most is if it is not put to good use. without mercy, he can really say stinging observations about one’s failures and fears straight to their faces - the worst part is? it hurts, bc it’s true. he’s insensitive, but you can’t exactly deny his words either.

favorite moment: when i get his card lol bc i really like his card art??? not the mvp + biochemist one, the regular one - like… daMN??? i dig, he probably has the best regular card among the bio mobs imo

a situation with this character that i want to see explored more: not exactly a situation but his backstory??? or okay, something with his family - i know he’s nicholas flamel’s son but what about his mom? or what if: his parents announce that he’s about to have a sibling like??? what, i’m like around my 20s already then u tell me i’m gonna be an older bro i am questioning ur nightly activities??? cue a much needed slap from his mom lol

an interesting au for this character: lol i’d probably like to see flamel in a soulmate au where he feels the same emotions his partner does like wow he’s really irritated at it at first bc really why is this person so damned emotional / feel so much but eventually he’s able to compartmentalize his partner’s emotions from his own and he also takes note of the emotions his partner experiences in a journal daily, complete with time frames/lines??? that’s sort of sweet??? it also becomes a habit for him to look at the journal at the end of the day and think of reasons why his partner may have felt this way at each of the recorded times??? what’s funny tho is that despite the fact that he’s been taking note of his partner’s emotions for so long (probably middle school up to college?), he’s never gotten the urge to discover who his soulmate is, or to try find said person. sorry soulmate, you’re the one who’s gonna take initiative.

a crossover: top of my head, probably a fullmetal alchemist one lol - he’s probably some big shot alchemist then surprise surprise, one of his transmutation attempts fucked up him up pretty badly leading him to the gate of truth. he wakes up feeling ‘empty’ only to figure out that somehow his parts of him have taken the form of homonculi… and not just any kind of homonculi - they introduce themselves as a part of him, the sins in him that has made him the man he was today. they even call him father and take different human forms (lol, aka they take the form of his floormates, take a pick who represents each sin) - the revelation is in his travels tho while he’s trying to get to the homonculi, is that flamel himself embodies a sin, the seventh sin that completes all of them (try guessing what, lol). ooooh, this could probably be good if i actually fix this but yeah, there u go, it goes somewhere along those lines.

surprise bitch, he’s the best chef in the biolabs but he ain’t gonna cook for anybody but himself - the only time he isn’t hung up on precise measurements + time is when he’s cooking

has a pair of reading glasses, uses them often and keeps them stored away neatly in his desk complete with a wipe - he always makes sure there’s adequate lighting + his reading glasses are present when he reads stuff, he sure cares for his eyes a lot

he… surprisingly follows a lot of good health practices - he always takes 15 - 20 min break if he’s been doing something for a straight hour (patrol + battles are exempted), drinks 8 glasses of water daily, sleeps early, etc.

his hands are always gloved - takes ‘em off only when he’s about to sleep. his right hand is pristine but his left hand has a strangely shaped burn mark that runs diagonally across his palm - it looks old.

he looks prim and proper but honestly his room is nuts - what’s more confusing is that he isn’t bothered by his room’s state at all + he knows exactly where his stuff is when he needs it, like… dude… how do u even know where to find ur shit in a warzone called ur room, teach me ur ways master

what i like about them: he’s a very resolute yet flexible person: definitely not the type of person who’d go second-guessing on his decisions or would waver in times of crisis, but he’s not also the person who’d insist on pushing on with the initial goal/objective when difficulties or contradictions arise - he takes in the present situation + other factors & encountered facts and weighs them against the supposed goal/objective. from there he determines what he thinks would be the best course of action to take, and it takes him only a short time to do so even under pressure.

what i dislike about them: true to his class, he’s too self-sacrificing??? which is like… dude c’mon it’s probably an honor for the crusader line to die in the act of protecting others but still if u die, who’s going to protect those who can’t protect themselves? like yeah, he understands that too but he’s more inclined to believe that it’s better for him to be left behind/sacrificed/die in exchange for the lives of the majority. well - it’s either he’s that self-sacrificing or sadly, when weighed against the lives of the people he must protect, he doesn’t place that much value on his own life.

favorite moment: the feel when u don’t get his attention, seriously. pls let me sneak about ur floor in peace - i swear i went to church so pls stop with the grand + holy crosses

least favorite moment: fighting him is torture bc if rms data is right, 478,745 hp, man - he has the longest hp out of his floormates… and that’s just a regular randel… the paladin one has 3,870,000 and the mvp one a whopping 6,870,000… since his life is that fucking long, say goodbye to trying not to be mobbed by the other ghosts bc ur still busy trying to kill him, damn

a situation with this character that i want to see explored more: same like flamel, knowing his backstory would be A+ but… hmm, maybe something way back like his origins story or something, the story of why and what made him decide to be a swordsman/crusader. y’know, that’s if we’re assuming that he’s not from a family line of swordsmen/crusaders or something. idk, sometimes the thing is with characters who are in line with a faith/ideal is that i’m interested in what made them devote their lives to that certain faith/ideal in the first place.

an interesting au for this character: oooh, just… idk, a modern au where he suddenly ends up taking care of the bio2 kids who are orphans. he’s never mentioned it to anyone, not even to the people of his workplace who happen to be his friends/co-workers like for 4 years already. therein lies the problem: his friends on separate occasions have seen him with at least 2 or 1 of the kids. they all know randel isn’t married. the hair colors (cenia and laurell) + other features don’t match up. some distinctly heard a kid call him dad/daddy/father (see: wickebine, armaia, the rest respectively). conclusion: it’s either a) he’s babysitting as a part time job bc goddamn rekenber’s a cheap son of a bitch that won’t give him a raise, b) those kids are his cousins or something and are probably so fond of him that they see him as a father figure, or c) illegitimate chiLDREN FROM SOME ONE NIGHT STANDS ALRIIIGHT SCANDAL IN THE OFFICE. chaos ensues even before poor randel has a chance to explain himself.

a crossover: lol, idk… a shingeki one maybe where randel’s probably the head of the survey corps, watching over our fated trio (probably flamel/celia/chen for his floor, bio2&3′s are a mix&match). for some time, the trio don’t see him but strangely enough when the trio get old enough to join the corps, they discover that randel is considered a scum and a traitor to humanity by all three army regiments (survey, garrison, & military) which is strange bc randel is very well known and respected by humanity within the walls, wow. when the trio get deeper into his case, it turns out that randel vehemently fought against a group of scientists that were looking for human subjects for the ‘sake of saving humanity by using present resources’ - the three of them were seen as part of those potential resources and were eyed upon by the scientists were they were already young, along with other people from different parts of the walls (the other bio mobs). what happened to randel, however, is left in the air… was he even still alive, or had something important happened leading him to be branded as the traitor of humanity? politics, religion, science, drama, and titans (removers maybe lol) ensue.

assortment of headcanons:

very, very religiously open + tolerant. he shows a lot of interest on other faiths and is knowledgeable even of various religious practices asides from his own. of course, he’s still steadfastly loyal to what he believes in first and foremost, but he feels no need to impart his beliefs to those who don’t / are reluctant to believe. he isn’t the type you’d see to be preaching about his faith either, that is unless you ask.

in line with the hc above, his tolerance also extends to people and their character + personalities, but he isn’t too tolerant to the point that he’d rationalize questionable actions + motives. he may have the patience of a saint, but no one’s so sure if they want to see him snap / test his patience to see what makes him tick. throwing bullshit about his faith doesn’t work on him, actually.

he’s pretty crafty - he pretty much taught himself other ways to help people, from practical stuff like sewing to more complicated stuff like woodwork + metal works, wow. he’s basically the ideal useful guy in survival crises… minus the fact that he can’t cook that well lol

he has the worst drinking tolerance among the bio3 + bio4 residents - the sign that he’s drunk is when his face shows more expression than usual + his posture breaks (the paladin randel card art lol). nobody knows bc damn son, he has a pretty good poker face and he can hold it for a really long time

... the only reason he grew his hair long is bc of a promise to his mother. he vowed that if ever he was to fall in love (and it was reciprocated) / find the person he would devote his life to, that would be the only time he would cut his hair, and his mother would do the honors... but... yeah... wow, i made myself feel sad

If you're interested in FS prompts, here's one: Fitzsimmons start to bond with May over their dislike of coffee (early s1-ish?) because I love May+Fitzsimmons! (Just out of curiosity, would that brotp be called Fitzsimmay, or is there a name already in existence?)

AN ~ Ha! This prompt cracked me up!! and I miss the S1 Bus Fam so much 3 but this was fun!! (as for the name - I think there’s a sort of Mamma May, May & the kids, May & the ducklings thing going but nothing in particular for May+FitzSimmons I don’t think).

Also, inspired by @the-nerdy-stjarna challenging herself to write some beautiful prose recently I decided to challenge myself on some dialogue and banter (which is ofc extra tricky when May’s involved!) Hope you like it :D

Jemma laughed, as Fitz reshuffled his lanky legs in the tight space the backseat allowed them, for the third time.

“Are you quite alright there?” she asked.

“Fine!” he insisted, grumpier than usual. “Just… for ‘field work’ there don’t seem to be many ‘fields’ involved, that’s all. ‘f I wanted to be sitting around in stake-outs all day I’d join the ruddy police.”

“Or become a clown,” Skye suggested.

She snorted with laughter as, desperate to get a proper stretch, Fitz stuck one of his legs between the two front seats – in the space over the handbrake and gearbox – and began flexing his ankle enthusiastically.

“Um, Fitz,” Jemma muttered. “I don’t think you should –“

“What?” he challenged. “D’you want me to get deep vein thrombosis? Because that’s what’s happening otherwise.”

“No, of course not,” Jemma insisted. “It’s just –“

It was just that she hadn’t missed May’s stern face in the rear view mirror. She was certain that May was judging her; judging them, for their immaturity. No doubt as the Cavalry, she’d been on some missions that required an extraordinary sense of control over one’s body. Of stillness. Missions where sticking one’s leg across the length of an entire car was not just poor form, but a deadly mistake.

Of course, as usual, what she thought was unclear, but May’s gaze did not flinch from the mirror, though she must have known that they were reading into it. What they were reading into it. She hated them bringing it up, so they stayed silent, but – appropriately chagrined, and with some difficulty – Fitz drew his leg back into the back seat and muttered an apology.

It was at this moment that Coulson appeared from back across the street.

“Target’s getting coffee so I am too. Anybody want anything?”

“Americano?” Skye requested.

“Sure?” Coulson checked. “Shield’s buying.”

Skye shrugged. “I said what I said.”

Coulson nodded, and pointed his finger to commit the order to memory.

“One Americano,” he recited, and moved his finger to Jemma. “Anything for you?”

“Um, do they have tea? I don’t mind which kind, just, preferably brewed, not bagged.”

Coulson grimaced, unconvinced.

“I’ll see what I can do,” he promised. “Otherwise I hear they do a great wheatgrass?”

“Okay.”“And you, Fitz?”

“Tea please. Black. Or nothing. Unless we have a better bathroom situation than last time.”

Coulson shook his head, sympathetic.

“Okay. One Americano, one tea-or-wheatgrass, one tea-or-nothing…. and Melinda, might I interest you in the holiday special, mint spice frappuccino with pieces of candy cane?”

He took one look at May’s glare and grinned.

“And one ‘go to hell,’” he finished. “Got it.”

He disappeared to fetch the coffee, and if Jemma was not mistaken, May snorted.

“Well,” May said. “That’s one sensible decision you two have made today.”

“The tea?” Jemma checked. “Oh, no, we don’t care for coffee at all really. You can take the Brit out of Britain I suppose….”

Skye snorted.

“Sure.” She elbowed Fitz. “I saw this one salivating over Coulson’s last offer. He’d sell his soul to coffee for a little good ol’ fashioned whipped cream.”

Fitz scoffed.

“I’ll have you know that’s hardly a coffee,” he retorted indignantly. “It’s practically cream with a little flavour! And you can get it with icecream.”

“Fitz!” Jemma gasped. “You’ve had that thing? Inside your body?”

“Yeah he has.” Skye made a suggestive expression, and Fitz kicked her as best he could from the given angle. All the while, Jemma was beginning an educative rant about the calories, the sugar and fat and Fitz’s diet more generally, and Skye didn’t pause the burgeoning skirmish to cry:

“Don’t bring Little Debbie into this!”

They squabbled even as Coulson climbed into the car a few minutes later, tray of coffees in hand. Unfazed by the ruckus in the back seat, he and May watched the target cross the street in front of them, Ward on his tail, and Coulson passed the tray of drinks over.

“How’s it going?” he asked calmly. “Did you tell them the espresso machine story?”

“I don’t tell stories.”

“To bad, I do. Hey, guys!”

Coulson leaned his head over the back seat. Immediately, the younger three stopped fighting and sat to attention.

“Yes!” Skye cheered. “Hit me with the caffeine, AC!”

“You’re gonna have to fight May for it,” he deflected.

“Keep your damn legs still for the next five minutes and I’ll hand it over,” May promised. After a chorus of ‘yes ma’am’s she begrudgingly handed out the drinks – teas first, and then Skye’s coffee only after Coulson had announced that they needed to move the stakeout van after all.

“Oh yeah,” Fitz remarked with a snort. “Ward’s still out there tailing. Poor sod.”

“Get better at keeping to your damn self and you could be out there too, you know,” May remarked. Startled, Fitz and Simmons shared a glance. May could see Coulson was just about busting a vein trying not to grin at her – he’d always known she’d get attached – but she decided to lean into it anyway.

“I’m just saying,” she clarified. “You have the makings of good agents, all of you. Some of you even have good taste.”

(Skye laughed and raised her Americano in salute to herself. “Burn.”)

“And I think if you knuckled down and put the work in you really could make it into the… ‘actual field,’ one day.”

Fitz shook his head profusely.

“Oh, no thank you. I’ll take a little thrombosis over a bullet to the head any day.”

The van drove over a bump, sloshing his tea, and Fitz cursed.“Oh, Fitz,” Jemma sighed, and passed her cup to him as she began to search for a piece of tissue or fabric to soak up the spill.

May rolled her eyes and turned her attention back to the road ahead. They had a long way to go.
