I JUST FINISHED THE LATEST EPISODES OF EARTHSPARK AND AHHHHH!!! THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD!!! I simultaneously need to scream and cry, holy heck!!! I haven't felt this way over a Transformers show since TFP!!! GAH, ALL THE FEELS!!!

Jawbreaker, my beloved!!! Grimlock, My beloved!!! My dino boys!!! This is definitely my favorite iteration of Grimlock. This batch of episodes really explored the trauma these characters have gone through and Grimlock's trauma was the perfect introduction, by which I mean it was very sad but heartwarming when Jawbreaker chose to lay down arms to save Grimlock. Robby freaking DYING?? In a kid's show??? It's more likely than you think. No, but seriously, "Prime Time" might be my favorite episode and it barely has any Transformers in it!!! The emotions are just...so on point and so real and, again, MO WITH A SWORD!!!

STARSCREAM! He's not even one of my favorites but his bonding with Hashtag and the actual acknowledgement of Megatron's abuse was just...wow. I never expected any Transformers media to actually delve into that in any meaningful way. "I believe he hurt you." Gosh DANG it, now I have feelings!!!

Bruh, all the Decepticons showing up at the end?? Soundwave and Swindle riding Hardtop into battle??? I literally cheered at the screen!!! And the fact that freaking STARSCREAM brought them together??? Never thought I'd see the day! And side note, Twitch hugging him in midair was so cute!!!

Twitch and Nightshade at the end...how do I begin to describe how I felt over those scenes? They literally thought their whole family was DEAD and they STILL kept going!!! They had to make the hard calls to possibly kill Elita and Optimus and THEY KEPT GOING. I rationally knew no one was actually dead but I still FELT the weight of it all with them. THAT'S good storytelling!

Twitch staring down Megatron's gun barrel now lives in my head rent free. The animation was GORGEOUS, with Twitch's horrified expression and Megatron cast all in shadow. And then when every Cybertronian/Terran freaking DIED leaving only Twitch left, shielded by her brother's corpse???? AHHHH THE ANGST!!! The only thing that could have made it better is if she'd actually kept that crack over her eye as a scar from the battle, but still, BEST FINALE EVER. I couldn't have asked for a better one!

Oh, also, as a Megop shipper, I gotta shout out Megatron's sly little "I'm impressed" to Optimus because yeah. Gay.

I want to go back and watch the entire season now.

Some musings abt the soon to be Precure season

So i took a look at the new website and bruhhh

they're so tacky looking and cute I love them! I'd actually gotten spoiled for Cure Wonderful and Cure Nyami's designs thanks to fanart on pixiv, and at the time I thought the season was going to have an Alice and Wonderland motif thanks to Wonderful's crown [thought she was gonna be like the queen of hearts but nope]. After checking out the website and trailer tho, it seems like the theme is more of a zoo and or animal companion theme. When I first realized that I thought to myself "wait haven't we been here before?" but thinking about it further Healing Good's theme was more along the lines of veterinarians and the earth[?] and Kira Kira Precure's was moreso just animals as window dressing/attack inspo with sweets being the main theme so I suppose we're not technically retreading old ground here. Speaking of not retreading old ground- HOLY SHIT THE MAIN CURE IS A DOG??

Just like...a full on dog dog bruh, like dang man I never thought i'd see the day where we'd essentially get a fairy leading the team. It seems like the team's split into both humans and animals, with Cure Nyami definitely being that white cat

This is exciting! I love that Precure's held onto having fairies transform into humans, it's so heckin fun! Back to the designs- In order of my favorite to least favorite it's Cure Nyami [look at that hair bruh! she is beauty, she is grace]

Cure Friend [the poncho and hair are my fav]

Cure Wonderful [she looks like such a peppy kid awwww]

and lastly Cure Lillian [her arm thingies remind me of Futari Wa and I adore that ribbon]

Honestly, I think this may be the first time since Kira Kira Precure that I've been immediately on board with the designs. I ended up loving Hirogaru's over time but at first glance, I couldn't get over how weird they looked [never fully ended up liking Cure Wing's design but still love the character]. The only thing I dislike about them is Lillian's headband, and the big heart on Friend's shoes. I'm sort of a big sucker for poofy/frilly skirts, long straight hair, and ponchos so I feel well-fed. I'm especially looking forward to seeing them all in motion, especially Lillian since based on her turnaround she seems to have a bit of sass to her. Based on Nyami's turnarounds/previews she seems to be more of a kuudere[?] type which isn't something we've gotten for a main cure in a while. There's also all of these guys just hangin' out on the site too

Can't wait to see what these lil guys can do, hoping that they'll be connected to powerups and maybe even special outfits/attacks [really enjoyed it when Happiness Charge did that]. But maaaan this is so cool. It seems like ever since Hirogaru decided to play around with Precure conventions they're going all out with unique approaches to the formula. One thing I hope they continue doing this season tho, is keeping the fighting style as a literal fighting style like super sentai where they actually throw punches. I love Kira Kira, but there's only so many times [like 2] that I can watch someone fight by pointing a wand at something before I start skipping the battles. Really loved how Hirogaru frequently would have the characters strategize in battle, it really kept me engaged even if I always know how it'll end. All-in-all, it's sad to see Hirogaru go, but I'm excited with what new stories await in the new season! ^^

Finally reading the companion novel ffxv dawn of the future. Chapter 1 is just. Episode ardyn, which I already played years ago but read anyways in case there was a something different.

Turns out Mamoru does have his Psychometry power. He's seeing visions now. Unfortunately he saw something that concerned him and decided the minute he saw Usagi to break up with her. And said some awful things. Examples being:

"I don't have feelings for you anymore",

"Why should I have to be with you because of what happened in the past" (ouch)

"I don't like weak women" (bruh you're way weaker than her you've literally died like 3 times)

I'm not seeing how this will solve anything 😩

Just putting this out there manga Mamoru was far too devoted and love sick for Usagi to ever consider breaking up with her. Girl was even starting drama over Chibi-usa and unintentionally flirting with Haruka. Man was getting brainwashed, captured and targeted every dang arc. He was forced to hurt Usagi numerous times. He saw visions of the end of the world whenever he connected with Usagi and he was still like "I love you so much Usako nothing could make me leave you" And here's anime Mamoru breaking Usagi's heart cuz he saw one (1) bad vision.

idk if I wanted more of Juha/Doyoon or not like... I might've warmed up to them more? because theoretically I could like the dynamic if it's more developed

Overall:

Nobody in this drama asks before kissing lol not Doyoon, not Seheon, not the little kiss that Seheon's brother gave to sleeping Taejoon, and the other two, Juha and Taeyi, are experts in being creeps and having internalized homophobia that they direct outwardly to the guys they like as well (Seheon's brother fits here too lol). Yet, I enjoyed it a fair amount, the story was coherent, the acting was fine, I was endeared by Doyoon (is he the Omega X kid?), and the dynamics were enjoyable, if iffy on certain counts. Not super attached though.

Rating: 6/10

Okay, judging by the fact Crowley said “I would hardly consider them “super old””, implying he takes offense at the comment, the camera is from his era. That’s like when people call flip phones old in front of millennials. Hm, so like 100-150 years old then? Soul? Yes Deuce, that does sound sketchy, I agree. Memories with a capital M. Living pictures! “Soulbond” good question Yuu. Wicked…keen? I’m curious, why does Yuu need to take the pictures? What’s the reason?

Oooooo, last Chapter! Oh wait wait wait! Okay, so at the end of every book the next dorm gets teased, right? Are they gonna tease Heartslabyul? Grim’s so happy! “Sentient pile of lint” Ace! That got a laugh out of me actually. Wait, do Ace and Deuce know that they share a room? “Those two seem like they’re made for each other” the most iconic TWST duo. Oh, I guess they’re not teasing it. Hm? OOOOOOO! AHHHHHH THE OPENING OP! OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH! I LOVE THAT OPENING SO MUCH! I was so shocked to see it, I’m grinning like an idiot YES! That thing single-handedly put TWST on my radar, it means a lot to me!

(I thought I posted this a week ago but apparently I accidentally saved it in my drafts instead but better late than never)

I finally have the time to watch more I swear this was the most stressful week of my life

Episode 5

-“Breaking The Seal” L E T T E R ?

-I think I’ve been patient enough just open the dang letter before I lose my mind

-“I’ve done terrible things” shoot I forgot he said that is he talking about killing the dragon king or something related to that

-slightly confused about how these kingdoms work, are there multiple kingdoms within Katolis, or are these kings and queens from outside of Katolis

-“it seems I am a crown without an adult, and you are an adult without a crown” !!!!!!!!!

-BOOM GET HUMBLED

-ofc Viren had to make this all dramatic, literally just showing off at this point

-a NEW threat?? Haven’t y’all been at war for idek how many years?? How is any of this new??

-“there are reports of shadows in the clouds, dragons” MORE DRAGONS

-I take it back this room is boring, bring back the special effects

-I can’t tell if the others are scared of the elves or scared of whatever Viren just did

-I was confused why Ezran seems so chill about his father dying but then I remembered that he doesn’t even know, man this is gonna hurt

-“I won’t send my armies to face unknown danger over a two minute speech. I may be a child but apparently I’m the least impulsive of us all. Besides, I hardly call ‘we’ll do what everyone else says’ a decision.” GIRL

-I may as well quote absolutely everything Queen Aanya says because she’s my new hero

-“Sweet words can be more dangerous than hidden daggers”

-don’t mind me just crying over this flashback scene oh my gosh

-“I know you will stand by me through anything” Whoops actually he just stood there as you were murdered and is now trying to kill both your sons

-bruh even baby Ezran is a menace when it comes to jelly tarts

-“why do I deserve this? What did I do except being born with everything?” Harrow buddy you deserve the world

-Viren is a master manipulator and while it makes me wanna hurt him you gotta admit he knows how to get what he wants

-NO POOR BAIT JUST WANTS TO BE LOVED

-dude it looks like Viren actually cared about Harrow a lot what the heck happened to him

-Sarai is literally so awesome why do all the best characters die, this better not become a trend

-Obviously the titan isn’t actually dead idc how dead they think he looks they just went “oh he’s not moving so I’m gonna hammer a stake through him, what can go wrong?”

-Callum and Bait being besties is something I didn’t know I needed

-THE SEAL IS BROKEN I REPEAT THE SEAL IS BROKEN

-fire titan dude is pretty ugly like uglier than I thought he would be

-Venus fly trap looking head

Episode 6

-LETTER TIMEEEEEE

-why did they put this at the beginning I shouldn’t be crying this early in the episode

-they took the dragon egg MONTHS ago??? Did they say this before cause I thought it was like years ago, I’m so confused with this timeline

-IT JUST CUTS OFF???

-YALL BETTER NOT BE MAKING ME WAIT AGAIN TO HEAR TO REST OF THAT LETTER I SWEAR

-oh my gosh I’m freaking stupid this story is how his mom dies isn’t it

-“the injured must be left behind” right when past-Viren earns my respect again he says stupid stuff like that

-“you wouldn’t do this if it wasn’t your wife’s sister” well I don’t see a ring on your finger so how would you know

-“I ask you and your brother to reject history as a narrative of strength, and instead have faith that it can be a narrative of love”

-all these flashback scenes are so cute I just know I’m gonna rewatch the heck outta this episode

-“Rayla, that’s a funny name” it’s literally the most normal name out of every character we’ve met

-The boat guy (I forgot his name so I’m just gonna call him Boat Guy) encouraging Rayla to literally kill people is hilarious

-“I’ve never actually killed anyone”

“Maybe someday! Never give up on your

dreams!”

-“with the heavy heart of the titan, and the additional burden of carrying the wounded” I actually wanna punch him through the screen just the way he said that makes me so mad, like he’s bitter about Harrow not wanting to leave most of their soldiers there to die

-Zym steals my heart all over again every second he’s on screen

-“you can’t control where the river goes, there’s one thing you can know and control, yourself”

-“I want to talk to you about life and growing up and how sometimes there are changes you don’t expect” WAIT IS THAT THE THING CALUM SAID TO EZRAN I THINK THATS THE THING CALLIM SAID TO EZRAN

-“free yourself from the past, learn from it, understand it, then let it go” y’all don’t understand how much I needed to hear this rn

-I KNOW YOURE NOT TELLING THIS POOR GRIL WHAT HER MOTHERS WOULD HAVE WANTED TO GET HER VOTE YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT WHAT HER MOTHERS WOULD HAVE WANTED

-Viren throwing a baby tantrum the second someone tells him no is hilarious, the child in the room is more mature than he will ever be

-that fact that Harrow gave Callum the cube of all things makes it seem like he knew that Callum was gonna be a mage

-“extra-super-secret-bonus-secret” I love him so much we lost him way too soon

there’s the intrusive thought that “he’s gonna fall down those stairs” as he’s at the top during the song

okay but him worrying about his banner being wrong and the guy being like “it doesn’t really matter does it? I’m sure you’ll give us a great show” - that one hurt

they really aren’t expecting him to win

he’s so discouraged :(

okay so maybe I forgot to write during the final fight scene - I was very upset when Creed won cause he’s too cocky for that sort of fight to be his - but Rocky and Adrian are so cute so I was less upset…?

*okay so I lost a good chunk of my notes for this movie because they didn’t save like I thought they did, which is quite unfortunate considering they were really good, so here’s kinda what I remember:

Lots and lots of respect for Mick - love this guy now

Apollo is a stuck up jerk and needs to freaking chill

I love that once Adrian tells him to win, he’s laser focused

that last fight was painful - Rocky really can’t see well out of that right eye but I love the moment he wins he’s like “Yo Adrian, I did it!”*

Rocky III:

okay I was super into The A-Team when I was like… 15 so seeing Mr. T in this movie is an absolute joy

Hulk Hogan - what a homie BUT HES FREAKING HUGE

that fight was intense, man. geez, ya know?

they built Rocky a statueeeee - cute

Rocky, dude, stop training in a stupid public playhouse

Mick riding on the bike that Rocky is pulling reminds me of Yoda in Star Wars on Luke’s back heheheeeee

Apollo Creed has calmed down quite a bit and I don’t hate him as much

MICK NO YOU CANT BE DOING THAT GAH

I can’t… I can’t even… Rocky loses and Mick dies I just cannot… it breaks my heart

Never thought I’d have the respect I have for Apollo but now I do

I love the reprise of Eye of the Tiger - good choice

yes on the training montage - not gonna lie, I’m afraid for this match though

my first thought when he finally passes Apollo on their sprint and jumps in the ocean was “ew, wet socks”

it’s funny when someone’s so focused on themselves and beating Rocky (Apollo in the first two, whatever his name is in this one) that they just… don’t win

made it past round 2 so that’s usually a good sign

that was the coolest comeback ever

ahaaaa - I find Apollo and Rocky’s lil fight at the end absolutely hysterical
