I know some of my mutuals have answered this question before and I'm sure my headcanons will be influenced by theirs, AND I'm also significantly older than the counselors so they're probably listening to gen z stuff my late millennial ass doesn't even know about but here goes nothing!

Laura So much SIØBHAN! Just kidding. Jacob likes pretty much whatever is on the radio. He's a top 40 guy and has no shame about his enjoyment of Ed Sheeran and Justin Beiber, or about ugly crying to Taylor Swift and Coldplay. He rarely listens closely to the actual lyrics (and often gets them humorously wrong), he just goes on vibes. He discovers half the music he listens to via TikTok (not that there's anything wrong with that).

Emma is a theater kid through and through and loves broadway musicals. She goes through phases with each popular one. She's had a Waitress phase, a Mamma Mia phase, a Wicked phase, and a Hamilton phase, of course, and now she's into Mean Girls, Heathers, and Hadestown. Beyond that, I think she'd be a dedicated Swiftie, big Adele fan, and a lover of Britney Spears's entire body of work from the 90's through today.

Nick probably listens to stoner bro music. Like jam bands and psychedelic rock and stuff. He probably likes Dave Matthews Band and the Grateful Dead/Dark Star Orchestra, Sublime, Widespread Panic, Tame Impala, and O.A.R. Googling jam bands to remind myself which ones exist led me to the knowledge that there's an Australian psychedelic rock band called King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and that name is so bonkers that I've decided without listening to more than a few bars that it has to be Nick's favorite band.

Ryan is a little bit emo and a little bit goth and a little bit old school punk. He needs music that's loud and moody to help sort out his feelings about life and drown out all the excess noise inside his head. He's into metal, the harder side of emo/screamo, goth rock, hard rock, punk, and post-punk. He definitely listens to Nightwish, GOJIRA, Mastodon, Lacuna Coil, Linkin Park, Rage Against the Machine, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Nine Inch Nails, Deftones, Thursday, Alkaline Trio, My Chemical Romance, AFI, Bad Religion, Black Flag, Minor Threat, The Misfits, Ramones, etc. He doesn't hate more accessible pop and rock music, but the closest he gets to choosing it for himself is probably something like The Cure or The Smashing Pumpkins or Depeche Mode, maybe some of the creepier Weeknd songs and Muse tracks too heavy to go on the Twilight soundtracks. He and Abi listen to Babymetal together.

Kaitlyn classic rock and 90's alternative. This girl likes the Stones more than the Beatles, though she'll listen to both. Led Zeppelin, Joan Jett, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Black Sabbath, the occasional hair band. She especially loves the 90's girl rockers like Alanis Morisette, Garbage, Hole, Veruca Salt, and No Doubt (Kaitlyn can't believe Gwen Stefani is married to pop-country dork Blake Shelton who sings that song about being your honey bee, because Gwen used to be so cool [I'm definitely not projecting]). Dylan is the Music Guy ™ (and my personal bias/url namesake), so I've admittedly thought about his musical tastes more than most of the others'. The official Quarry website mentions his 'deep musical knowledge' and I imagine he has pretty broad views on what constitutes good music. He's got kind of a vintage vibe to him, maybe it's the reproduction band shirt from 1988, or the fact that he's into analog technology, or both, but I've noticed he's often depicted playing Queen or Bowie or something of that era in fics, which I think is realistic. This kid goes to the used record store and just buys whatever looks cool.

Fun Fact: According to the datamine, the chapters originally had literary or musical quotes at the beginning of each, and Chapter 5: White Noise (the radio hut chapter) was originally headed by the opening lyrics from Queen's 'Radio Ga Ga':

He's also the only character we see play music in canon, so we know he likes... songs from random compilation albums with inexpensive royalties. XD Just kidding, but these are the diegetic (in-universe) songs we get to hear from Dylan's playlist at the bonfire party:

All pop music of varying subtypes, so we know he appreciates a well-crafted pop song. I honestly am a fan of all of these. I think Dylan genuinely listens to everything but he seems like the type to especially like alt and indie pop, classic rock, garage rock, a bit of the more melodic side of punk, emo, and pop-punk, new wave, synth pop, electronic, and a little bit of hip hop that’s sufficiently nerdy white boy friendly (probably Beastie Boys, Run the Jewels, Post Malone, emo rap like Blackbear, etc). I also tend to gravitate towards early-mid aughts indie for him, like MGMT, Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes, OK Go, LCD Soundsystem, etc. Just seems to match his vibe. I think he'd really like BØRNS, Hozier, COIN, Mitski, and K.Flay and probably have a fair amount of overlap with Ryan's more melodic picks (MCR, Muse, The Cure, etc). well, no one can know this but eight-months old moon once remotely drove a mars rover into a pit.

you had gone out with your friends for a girls’ night out and knj was home with moon. at the moment, he was working with NASA on one of their mars rovers with the latest equipments and technology. he is not exactly responsible for driving the mars rover but the intern (hyeonsu) under him who was handling the operation messed up somehow. the rover was not responding so hyeonsu called knj over to the control room. knj, of course, could not leave moon alone at home so he took her long with him. he made her sit on the desk near the keyboard cause there were no other place to set her down. he tried to run some simulations with hyeonsu to get the connection back but nothing worked.

while the two men were discussing something, moon, whose eyes were stuck to the humongous screen in front of her, advanced and tapped on a random button on the keyboard. the next thing they know, the rover made a mechanical sound and started rolling only to fall right inside a pit. knj and hyeonsu watched the screen absolutely mortified, moon giggling while watching the rover stuck in the pit trying to go forward but failing. the men did their best to undo it but nothing worked. they, unanimously, deleted all the login data and any evidence of the three of them being in the control room and left like nothing ever happened. to this day, no one knows why the NASA mars rover which costs millions of dollars had to be ultimately abandoned cause of an eight-month toddler. hyeonsu and knj have a silent agreement and they never talk about it. no one knows, not even you.

knj is not always there to attend every ultrasound but he knows when you have one and afterwards when he comes back, he always asks to look at the scans. “look, she has grown so much, little dove”

Risks… yeah, no. Risks are not Jin's thing, especially since you are in a secret relationship. If any of these risks involve something public, it will be a big fat no. Even if he wasn't an idol, it would most likely still be a no. He's just not into risks. Jin prefers to take the safe route, and this includes his sex life.

S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)

As much as he hates to admit it, he’s getting older, and some things, including his stamina, are getting weaker than when he was in his lower 20s.

Next thing you know, you’ll be having a full-on tickle fight for making fun of him. He’ll say with a smile on his face, “Who laughing now, huh?” While your face is beat red out of your own embarrassment for being so ticklish.

W = Wild card (a random head-canon for the character)

"Babeeeee, I want to cuddle," Jin will whine from the couch while giving grabby hands.

You are in the middle of making dinner, so you can't precisely cuddle while watching your pot boil.

"Can't you see I'm in the middle of something?"

Jin will huff and cross his arms in a pout like a little kid.

Your attention will go back to the pot, thinking Jin will just have a little tantrum and get over it.

But next thing you know, you'll be grabbed from behind and pulled away from the stove and squeaking out in terror.

When you realize it's just Jin, you'll relax.

Until he decides to hoist you up and pin you against a wall.

You'll giggle at him but realize real quick that his face means business, and simmer your laughter.

"Jin, I'm cooking-"

"And I'm cooking my own little recipe. It's called: You, and me, in bed with my tongue in between your thighs."

His words will make you blush and a little horny, but you know he's only teasing.

Wanting to coax you into cuddling him with any suggestion talk Jin can bring to mind.

You fake think about it with your finger on your chin.

And you worm your way out of his arms and hear him groan from behind you.

He will watch your close by while you cook, giving you the death stare, and be extra pouty during dinner.

I’ve been in the dumps lately

There is just so much going on in my life and to top it all off my favorite group BTS is going to the military soon and won’t be back til 2025

I’ve been an army since 2016 and I never seen them in concert once😭 when the Love Yourself tour came out Georgia was sadly not on the list.

Then Map of the Soul 7 tour came out and I had tickets because they we’re finally coming to Atlanta but then Covid hit us and it was canceled for quarantine

So life as an army has been sad and then my actual problems don’t help lol🤪

But I want y’all to know that I love being a 4townie even if it’s not a real group! Y’all make it feel so real and logging on to Tumblr and reading yalls post and even making some of my own really makes me so happy like I love it here I enjoy this content so much

So thank y’all for making me happy without even knowing and thank you so so much for liking my amateur writing it makes me so confident

Listening to the Voice Actors of 4*town:

I'll be commenting my thoughts from me listening to the voice actors of the 4*town members individually

I’ll be mentioning the 4*town members a lot and comparing them to the voice actors + making some headcanons along the way

Jordan Fisher (Robaire)

I’ve heard of Fisher from Dear Evan Hansen, he was playing the lead role Evan in 2020, and so I was surprised he sang for Turning Red, I mean his voice suits anything ffgk

He’s a man of talent and sang with LMM (Lin Maneul Miranda, who is a musical god)

I definitely see the charm in Robaire from Fisher, I SEE IT

Fisher’s voice is to die for, I’m not exaggerating

His control is great, sir can hit high notes !!

Finneas O'Connell (Jesse)

Finneas’ voice is calming and quite deep, I like it, sounds mature and suiting for Jesse.

Literally Finneas and Jesse share the same hairstyle..I just noticed kdjg

His voice suits sadder/serious songs, it makes me imagine Jesse writing the edgier/sadder songs for 4*town. But also romantic songs too.

Not only does Finneas songwrite and produce, he sings! And not only does Jesse do art, he sings too! (not to mention dance) That’s a whole package (we’re not even talking about visuals man omg ok anyway-)

Also hearing Finneas’ voice sounds like Jesse could sing lullabies, like his voice could be soothing and put you to sleep.

Levi’s voice is so HOT.. ILLEGAL. Also Levi dances pretty good, I see why Z is the best dancer in 4*town.

If I were a boy in the 2000s, I would be an Aaron Z stan no doubt, I get you Tyler ;)

I can’t comprehend Z being stoic offstage but his voice is full of emotion and smooth like honey on stage…THAT’S ILLEGAL.

I can totally see Aaron Z and Robaire being rivals with each other because they got vocals and style.

I think his voice impressed me the most, Topher Ngo’s being second place. The Aarons GOT IT !!

He’s a literal incarnation of an angel.

Also Villanueva said he did beatboxing for the song (I’m guessing Nobody Like U or U Know What's Up?), yo then Tae must does beatboxing for the group too

As I listened to these artists individually, I see the resemblance in their 4*town characters, Pixar captured their auras and personalities SO WELL

My favorite voices might be Jordan Fisher (Robaire) and Topher Ngo (Aaron T), but the others are super good voices too. All of them work well together as a group and sound breathtakingly beautiful in their own unique ways in their individual music/covers.

In K-pop, usually artists debut in groups and they don’t have solo debuts in order to focus on the group projects (mostly solo covers at most) and it builds the hype whenever one member does make their solo though.

It was actually nice to do the reverse in this case, where I listened to the group first (4*town), then I listened to their individual voices (the voice actors’ solo works).

This was pretty fun, please do check out the voice actors of 4*town and support their work as well.

They’re all so talented and I’m grateful to have them come together to bring 4*town to life 💗
