[KOR/ENG LYRICS] Sea by BTS
Somehow I kept walking and reached the sea
From the sea, I look to the shore
Countless grains of sand and the fierce wind
As always, I see the desert
I wanted the sea so I drank all of you down
But I’m even thirstier than I was before
Is what I know really the sea?
(I don't know)
Or is it a blue desert (I don’t know)
I don't know, I don't know
If what I feel right now are the waves, yeah
I don't know, I don't know
If I am still being chased by a sandstorm, yeah
I don't know, I don't know
If this is the sea or the desert
If this is hope or despair
If this is real or fake, shit
I know, I know 지금 내 시련을
I know, I know, these trials I’m facing now
I know, I know 이겨낼 것을
I know, I know, that I will overcome them
I know, I know 나야말로
I know, I know, that it’s me
I'm the place you can turn to, yeah
Look on the bright side, your throat runs dry
You’re anxious, but even then, if it’s the desert
It’s the beautiful Namib desert
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
You know, you know
You know, you know
Yeah, yeah
Where there is hope
You know, you know
You know, you know
(SUGA)
Yeah, yeah
What I thought was a sea was actually desert
“Small-name idols who aren’t much” was our second name
We were cut from broadcast, what, a million times?
Standing in for someone else was our dream
Some said we wouldn't make it big because we came from such a small company
I know, I know 나도 알어
I know, I know I know that too
The seven of us having to share a room back then (back then)
Holding onto the belief that tomorrow would be different (the belief too)
We could see the shape of this desert's mirage but we couldn’t grasp it and
We prayed that we would survive in this endless desert
We pray that it wasn’t our reality
In the end, we grasped onto the mirage and it became reality (became reality)
Our blood, sweat, and tears filled up the desert we had feared and turned it into an ocean (into an ocean)
But amidst all this happiness (this happiness)
What are all these fears? (What are they?)
We know too well that this was once a desert (we know)
I don't want to cry
I don't want to rest
No wait, how about resting for just a bit?
No no no
I don't want to lose
This was originally a desert
Then I have to just keep running, of course
I should be sadder, of course
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
You know, you know
You know, you know
Yeah, yeah
Where there is hope
You know, you know
You know, you know
Ocean, desert
The world
Everything is the same thing
Different name
I see ocean, I see desert
I see the world
Everything is the same thing
But with different name
It's life again
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
There must be trials too
Where there is hope
You know, you know
You know, you know
Yeah, yeah
Where there is hope
You know, you know
You know, you know
We have to despair
For all those trials (there is despair)
We have to despair
For all those trials

Jung Kook's Post ❇️

Dear beloved ARMY,
It's already the end of November, the wind is really strong these days.
You probably already know, so I just wanted to write a short letter to you .
This coming December, I will be embarking on a new journey. To complete my miliary service, I will be leaving your side for a short while. As I tell you this, on one hand, my heart feels heavy, but on the other, all the precious memories I have with ARMY come to mind and my heart feels warm.
All the moments I have spent with you until now have been the most brilliant times of my life.
Your smiles, your cheers and your love have brought me to where I am.
Thank you so much for cheering my dream on and for silently walking beside me.
I'm a bit cautious of just going ahead and asking you to wait. A year and 6 months is quite a long time so I don't think I can be selfish and say things like that but
when I come back, I promise that I will go back to the place I have always been and stand on stage as a more developed version of myself.
In the meantime, I hope that ARMY's lives are always full of laughter and happiness.
I hope that your everyday is filled with good health and beauty.
I will wait for the day we can meet again and share new stories, and I will miss you with all my heart.
Stay healthy and please take care*.
I love you.
(Is it a bit too early to be writing letters..hehahem)
(T/N: There is a meaning of "Be healthy as you stay/wait" in this line, but this was not highlighted in the translation as it is a common way of saying 'bye' in Korean. People will often say "잘 가/go well" to mean "bye", and the person leaving will say "잘 있어/stay well" in response.)
