Awake

I was taking a walk while listening to Awake. It’s really beautiful and I love it very much. I could listen to it for hours. I wish I knew who wrote it. I walked back to Bighit and entered. The song just ended and I took my earbuds off. I put my phone and earbuds in my pocket. Then, I heard something. Singing. It also sounded like someone playing the piano. It stopped.

“Where did that come from?”

I shrugged and just as I was about to take a step, I heard it again. Okay, I had to find out where this singing is from. Then, Jin comes out of the dance room.

“Oh, Navya!”

“Jin! What are doing here?”

“I was just practicing my song.”

Song? Could it be Jin singing?

“Did you hear any singing right now? I heard something when I first walked into the building.”

“No...I didn’t hear anything.”

“The music that was playing, who was playing it? Was it you or was it someone recording? It was beautiful.”

Jin chucked a little before turning back to the dance room, when the same sound started again. It was the same sound I’ve been hearing all this while...which means it was Jin playing it. I quickly rush into the room, where I see Jin sitting at the piano. He looked up at me for a while and smiled.

Then, he started singing. I couldn’t believe his sweet voice suddenly. It took me a while to realize that he was singing in Hangul.

“You wrote that...?”

I walked closer to his piano.

Jin nodded saying “Yes, I wouldn’t mind a female lead continuing it.”

I laughed until realizing that he was talking about me, continuing his song. I confess.

“I can’t speak Hangul...”

Jin chuckled.

“It’s okay. Language was never a barrier anyway.”

I cleared my voice when I saw his fingers touching the keyboard.

“It’s not that I believe, but that I am trying, cause it’s the only, only thing I can do. I want to stay here, I still want to dream here. Even so, I know the time to leave has come near.”

I stopped singing to check his face, whether he was disgusted or surprised.

“That-” he started when suddenly he stopped when my phone went off. It was my friend, Jennie, to which I realize she wanted to talk.

“Oh, I need to get back upstairs to my room. I’ll get going.”

I started walking out, when Jin stopped me.

“You will come back, right?”

I nodded and left the dance room.

*2 days later*

I went for a walk early in the morning so I could go to the dance room, meeting Jin there. When I got there, I peeked through the window. I didn’t see him there. I kicked the door a couple of times.

“Why are you kicking the door?” I heard a familiar voice ask.

Turning back, I saw Jin. He had a confused smile on his face.

“I’m sorry...I just wanted to explore the room.” I lied (obviously).

He looked at me, the room, and then at me again.

“Don’t worry. I have the key.”

Jin puts the key and turns it. The door unlocks and we both go inside. I looked around and it was filled with papers and a piano.

“You sure made a mess in here.” I said, turning around to meet his face suddenly.

He was very close, so I moved back from his side toward the piano. I sat on the seat right in front of the piano as I pressed some keys. Remembering the piano lessons I had ignored to gaze outside, I played the happy birthday tune with it and laughed. How childish and armature it is? I continued playing when I heard footsteps towards me. I stopped quickly.

“Why did you stop?” I heard Jin ask as he hung over my body, his chest hitting against my head and his hands against mine.

He shifted my fingers on a different set of keys and whispered, “Now, play along with my fingers.” I heard him say as a tune started as if syncing with my fastened heartbeats.

His fingers were right on top of mine and I felt extremely excited. All my concentration broke and I faced Jin, who was behind me. He looked up from the piano keys and looked into my eyes.

“You look breathtaking from this close, too.” he whispered to me.

I felt him move his hand from my hand to my waist, squeezing gently.

“Jin...” I gave out a gentle cry to which he quickly left me.

“I’m....I’m sorry.” he said, getting up and moving away.

But before he could, I got up and pulled him towards me. Our faces as close as possible when our lips collided slowly, the uneasiness that was holding him back was completely gone. His hands slowly wrapped around my waist, pulling me against him. As we kept changing our lip position, our minds loosing in on each other, somewhere it felt so wrong in so many ways, yet, I couldn’t resist him.

After a whole minute maybe, he left my face, leaving us breathless.

“Are you sure?” he asked, taking a breath after every word.

I could have backed out, but I didn’t. I nodded without a delay when he pushed me on his piano’s side table and attacked my neck. I moaned like there wasn’t a tomorrow to that. His hands held me at such a grip, that his fingers on my skin, turned me on.

His hands went in and out of my t-shirt, each time loosing my bra when I shifted a bit and landed right on the piano keys, making a loud sound. We instantly broke apart on each sides of the room. We both stared awkwardly at each other until we laughed.

What a perfect failed make out session was that?

Jin walked back and patted on my shoulders, sitting down on his seat.

“On the name of this-” he said while laughing. “taking notes to never make out with a girl on a piano.” he said to himself.

I took a random piano book of his and threw it at his face.

“Should I play something for you?” he asked.

I nodded and he started searching for some song notes, till he found one.

“I’ve been working on this lately.” he said, before starting.
