There were certain moments with your boyfriend which could top this one, but snuggling with him under a blanket to watch one of your favorite movies as rain pattered outside was pretty high in ranking. You tried not to reach into the bowl with treats right away, waiting for Bucky to make your tea and join you. You watched Alpine pounce around a pumpkin - one of the few you brought home. Initially all were put on the kitchen counter, but Alpine was so incredibly curious with them she kept climbing onto the counter (one of the very few spots she wasn't allowed on). So you put one of the pumpkins on the floor for her to enjoy. When you came from work she was napping on top of the pumpkin. Bucky placed two mugs of tea on the side table, then slipped under the blanket so gracefully the bowl with treats didn't even wobble. He was an Avenger and you knew these skills were very useful on missions, but you loved how they played into your domestic life. Like when Bucky sneaked up on you in the kitchen. He would startle you with a kiss, or a slap to your butt. Then pick you up and sit you on the counter while he finished whatever you were doing. Or when he tried being stealthy in snooping for Christmas presents (though you're quite sure it was just his need to sate his curiosity, much like Alpine did, not wanting to ruin the actual surprise). Smiling at him when Bucky glanced your way, you felt your stomach fill with butterflies at the sight of the easy happiness on his face. And soon, when you hit play, you would see the childlike wonder in his blue eyes as he watched the movie. He knew it almost by heart by now, but it absorbed him and make him happy every time.

current addiction: doing colour season palettes for my blorbos

Bucky seems to switch between Soft Autumn and Soft/Light Summer depending on which photo I use, so IMO he's a True Soft. 😅

I was expecting Steve to be a Bright Winter like CEvans is, but apparently the blond hair bumps his palette up to a True Summer. (Maybe if there was such a thing as a Bright Summer…? 🤔)

Bucky! A curious little imp.

They are so silly! They wanted to explore and did not want to stay still! That’s okay, little one!

Part of the reason why we use things like the Photo Booth is to expose our youngsters to novel/new situations! It helps us learn which birds are best suited to which homes for our adopters. Bucky is very outgoing and curious, and can be a little bit of a trickster - whereas birds like Autumn (below) are much more reserved and slower to approach a new situation.

When a bird seems too shut down or at all apprehensive of the new experience, we remove them from the situation and let them calm down. It’s all on their terms! It also gives them a chance to learn that new things aren’t always scary or bad.

"They taught me how to make a fire but trust me these hands–" Steve raised both of his hands after handing the steel and flint to Bucky "they're still slippery" he hummed softly as he leaned over to watch the small sparks turn into fire. "i still can't believe you got that first try" Steve grumbled as he took back the flint and steel, tucking it back into the pouch he'd bring everywhere. It was nice to finally sit down after a long day– it was nice to finally sit down with Bucky after a long day. Steve let out a grunt as he settled on the forest floor, sighing softly as he watched the fire grow bigger and bigger. "Did anyone smuggle any drinks?" He asked with a sneaky smile, turning his head towards Bucky.

"Yeah? I'd think those hands would be used to precision work." After all, Steve was an artist, wasn't he? Or had been, before all of this. One would think an artist's hands would have a natural skill with anything requiring delicacy or precision. Then again, Steve had also been shaky more often than not when they'd had to light the stove back in Brooklyn, and who knew how much training he'd had after his transformation. Suddenly growing over a foot and gaining that much muscle all at once might have thrown a few things off.

Not that that was a line of thought Bucky really wanted to pursue. He shut it down quickly, staring at the fire as the flames grew and tossing another log on to make sure it'd keep burning for a while. This was nice, just sitting with Steve and watching the flames; almost felt like home.

He laughed at the question, looking back over at Steve. "You really ain't been in the army long, have you? I guarantee you there's at least three bottles of booze around this camp. Maybe more." There wasn't a unit in Europe that didn't have some kind of alcohol with them, even if they weren't supposed to. Soldiers always found a way; if they couldn't buy, barter or steal, they'd make their own.

As if to prove his point, Bucky pulled his own pack over, digging out a second canteen and passing it over. "Brandy," he said with a mischievous grin. "Liberated it from an abandoned bar in that last village. Does great at keeping the chill off."

Maybe approaching Bucky when he was alone at night on his way home wasn't the smartest of her options, but she figured it was better than showing up in his home when he wasn't expecting anyone. Where as he would defend himself if approached in public, she was sure he'd be much more defensive if someone showed up in the place he was currently calling home.

She caught his hand as he turned around and swung at her, glad that it hadn't been the one made of vibranium; she was sure she could have caught it but it would have hurt significantly more. They started at each other for a moment before she spoke. “I was kind of hoping for a hug, not a fist.”
