30.10.20 | Day 9-13/75.

I was a little busy running errands and with commitments. I took korean class on 27 and 29. I also had an exam on 27.

So turns out I don’t know if I will be able to decorate my room or not. Because to decorate it I gotta paint it a light shade. I was thinking of white. Right now it is a weird shade of blue. And I dont know how to decorate it without spending money.

Day8: what is the best thing about studyblr in your opinion?

it gives you the motivation to keep going and be productive. it’s inspiring seeing others that works on their dreams and goals in life. As a certified procrastinator, it gives me a little push to move forward.

A pink floral doodle spread 🖋🌺

Because I’m lazy and the last spread with the watercolors took longer than I thought, I went for a simple spread. In a way it’s kinda like a remake of an old spread with flowers decorating the corners of the pages. To be honest at this point I felt like I was beginning to stagnate in terms of creativity. It was interesting to see how my art style and journaling style somewhat evolved. Maybe I should remake another old spread of I’m feeling art blocked so I can put a new spin on something I did in the past.

I went with a black and purple theme with a bit of gold for more sparkle. I based this spread around the black brick scrapbooking paper and the purple dreamy moth image. I added some of my favorite black and gold star and moon washi tape as well as a bit of purple washi tape and a purple sticker to fill in the  empty space.

10.16.2020//Studyblr Community Challenge

Day6: Why did you decide to do this challenge and what is your goal?

I was inspired by watching you’ll doing productive things so I challenged myself to be like you’ll. If they can be productive, why can’t I? I wanted to be responsible for the things I do and post. It’s still a challenge for me but I’m doing the best I can. ❤️

Back at it again with watercolors 👩🏻‍🎨✨🌺

And yes, peeling tape after painting is so satisfying. This was actually my first time doing something like that as well as testing out paint in this journal (it’s by Peter Pauper Press btw) and the paper’s a bit thicker than the usual lined notebooks in stores so I had a good feeling it’ll hold up well to watercolors. Good news, it held up really well! Aside from buckling and warping - which could have easily been my fault for using too much water - there was no bleeding and ghosting.

And as usual, floral doodles because that’s pretty much my go to theme

It is my birthday in June and so I wanted to do a birthday spread to help me look back over the last year and to help me plan for the day (even though there’s not really much I can do right now). I ended up going with a mostly black and gold theme, which is probably my favorite color scheme at the moment.

A simple black doodle-y spread 📖🖋

After feeling creatively blocked in my last journal spread I opted to go for something kinda basic. Basically squares of random doodles decorated with washi tape. Most of the doodles are just stuff I go to like florals while some are a little exercise in doodling something I wouldn’t normally think of (like a cute cow 🐮)

Of course some doodles didn’t turn out good (which is why they’re not pictured hehe) but I’m trying not to let that get to me. After all you gotta make bad art in order to get better and make good art.

So the point of this spread is sometimes you need simplicity. Don’t get too caught up making elaborate spreads and giving yourself high standards in terms of making art. I know it’s easier said than done about not being too hard on yourself but you gotta stop beating up on yourself if you want to improve.
