i really love the way you use colors in your work, the different hue overlays or saturation levels really help make all the forms distinct and pop from one another but still seem like a unified whole, its marvelous!!!

Thanks so much!! I’ll let you in on a little secret—I actually do all of the baseline colors for my BG3 comics in grayscale, then slap a gradient map on top. As someone who is Not Great With Color, this is a pretty surefire way to maintain a unified color palette.

Here’s a tutorial on using gradient maps in Procreate (I made this AGES ago, so it may be a little out of date):

(I use Clip Studio now, so let me know if folks want a tutorial for that program too!)

It was a chilly October night, the leaves rustled as the four brothers made their way towards an abandoned graveyard. The atmosphere was dark and gloomy, but they were determined to explore the area, for reasons unknown to anyone but themselves.

"I don't like this, guys. Let's turn back," the youngest brother, Mikey, shivered.

"What? No way! You said you were bored, Mikey. This is exactly what we need to get our blood pumping!" another brother exclaimed.

"He was bored, Leo, not us. You didn't have to drag us all here," one of the brothers groaned in annoyance.

"Sorry that Mr. Bootyshaker9000 wanted to stay indoors and rot. I'm preventing the inevitable!" Leo clapped back.

"I'm trying to prevent hitting you with my Tech Bo," Donnie gripped his weapon tighter.

"Try it, you won't," Leo egged Donnie on.

"You little…" Donnie scowled, lifting his weapon before getting interrupted.

"Enough! Fighting is not the memo right now! Now you two cut it out or else I'll…wait, what was that?" the oldest brother paused on his scolding to scope out the area. A pungent smell of perfume floated in the air, and chills went down their spines.

"I'm getting really bad vibes here! I told you we should've gone back to the lair!" Mikey exclaimed.

"Don't be such a party pooper, Mike! It's probably all in our heads," Leo tried to come up with a reasonable explanation, but a gust of wind shut off all of his thoughts.

"What was that?!" Raph exclaimed.

"It's a ghost!" Mikey chattered.

"That is preposterous, Michael. There is no such thing as a ghost-"

"No, he's right."

They all screamed in unison, clinging onto Raph. "AH!"

After the shock and some failed punching attempts, he finally decided to talk instead of fight, and it was a delightful conversation

yall sat down and talked for hours, He asked a few questions, and you answered them

he made sure not to ask personal questions, like how you died and stuff (unlike Donnie, that insensitive prick)

was kinda sad when he had to go, but gotta make sure pops doesn't worry,

he promises he'll see you again

a few weeks later you show up in his room, sitting down calmly on his bed, or, erm, floating.

he threw multiple items at you before calming down and realizing that it was you, what were you doing here? how did you know where he lives?

all of those questions were brushed off when he heard that you just wanted to see him, and only him.

his heart pounded in his plastron, you wanted to see him? big ol' him? cue huge tail thumping into the ground

yall talked for HOURS, him talking about Lou Jitsu- wait, you've never watched Lou Jitsu? he's inviting you to family movie night. there's no getting out of this.

over the months, the both of you got close, he no longer throws objects or tries to throw hands when he sees you!

"They are heavy, but don't worry, Raph's got gains!" he replied, flexing his muscles with a curl-up. 

"Can I try?" you asked, reaching out your hands. 

"Sure, but be careful. I'll be here to spot ya!" he said, passing the weights to you. 

However, you forgot that you were transparent and accidentally dropped the weights on his tail, causing him to scream in pain. 

"Oops! I forget I'm transparent sometimes... You just make me feel so alive..." you said sheepishly. 

"I-I make you feel alive?" he questioned, seemingly forgetting the intense pain in his tail.

Previously named Lizardtail, Hallowflight was a Dark Forest trainee who defected at the very end of the battle. He broke ranks when Tigerstar's plan pivoted to the slaughter of innocents, tearing across the territory at record speed, and swimming across the lake itself.

Though he collapsed when he finally fetched help, Mistystar was moved by his incredible display of heroism. While Wind and Thunder were punishing their trainees, regardless of if they had willingly defected or not, she was so awed that she felt it appropriate to bestow an Honor Title.

After OotS, he becomes a respected warrior of RiverClan, taking a place under his great-grandmother Sedgecreek and deceased uncle Rippletail. His honorable renaming solidifies his family as being quite renowned, but also, for having a fair amount of scandal.

More trivia below!

His parent Rainstorm and uncle Rippletail were the products of a HalfClan relationship between Swallowtail and Rainwhisker!

This situation was the breaking point between his great-grandmothers, Sedgecreek and Greenflower, and lead to Mistystar choosing Sedge as her deputy.

Rainstorm was part of the Po3 Apprentice Generation, and a casual friend of the Three. Particularly Lionblaze.

Rainstorm does not share where they got the kits from, invoking Queen's Rights adamantly.

Growing up, Lizardpaw had trouble with Troutpaw and Mossypaw because he was a 'meek minnow'. Always pushed around and had to rely on Rushpaw to save his butt.

The Dark Forest offered to show him how to be stronger than his bullies and he accepted, he was a naiive kid.

But he always had a good heart. Following Tigerstar through most of the battle was cowardice, he was afraid of what they'd do to him

When Hawkfrost attacked Tigerstar to stop him, Lizardtail took the chance to slip away unnoticed and run for help

After the Great Battle, he became close with Lakeheart, and eventually they had three kits together.

Dappletuft died in an attempt on the impostor's life, and was buried like a rogue. Softpelt died in the tyrant's defense. Harefur was exiled for supporting the rebels but returned when Ashfur's identity was revealed, and went into the Dark Forest to avenge his siblings.

Hallowflight is proud of his son and cheers the loudest at his Honor Title ceremony, but ever since then, Harelight has had his parents at paw's length.

He hasn't forgiven them for how they didn't fight for him to attend the funerals of either of his siblings, and just let Dappletuft get buried like a rogue.

IN TERMS OF DESIGN AND DECISIONS:

It's interesting that he's actually a direct descendant of Willowpelt through Rainwhisker. I'm planning to give her some funky teeth and Harelight was also getting a little overbite, so I decided to bridge the two with Hallowflight getting some odd fangs too.

I love his wiki sprite with that little orange gradient, so it's official in this design. I'm not sure where it comes from, maybe his secret mother.

His stripes are in 3s, one thin in the middle, bordered by two thicks.

I merged Lizardtail and Hollowflight, because I was committed to making Hollow survive the battle and Lizard is a convenient living background nobody with a canonical family I can use.

So all canonical roles Lizardtail is getting will be taken over by Hallowflight!

His Clanmew name is pretty interesting. It's straightforward as a translation, but Clanmew doesn't make a distinction between 'Healing' and 'Holiness.' So 'Shahaf' has a bit of a vibe of redemption in the original language, like he's healing from his mistakes.

The form of 'flight' that's being used is the one for the hurried, dashing movements of birds like martins, swallows, and swifts. They're birds that rarely stop flying, and swifts even drink while airborne! They do this by skimming the top of lakes and taking a big gulp of water. VERY cool animals.

So the 'flew like a swift' invokes the idea of him skimming the top of the lake and making a direct beeline to get redemption.

Sorry this is so late, I was struck immediately and viciously by the wrath of god (and sedatives), so needless to say i was away from my computer

anyway so . the setting is: bnha roleplay server. let me introduce our cast

we have ME, 18, playing Monoma

we have the Bakugou and Shinsou roleplayers, who are a couple also. They are also the server mods. Notably, all three of us are some kinda gay-guy-adjacent-moment

you have Snow, 19, playing Kaminari and Summer, 20-something, playing Kirishima. Snow was ace/agender/aro and summer was identifying as cis bihet

SETTING THE SCENE.

I, unaware of summer identifying unironically as like, biromantic heterosexual, had accidentally started a fight about microlabels in the discourse channel, which ended in her refusing to speak to me further on the topic because she "couldnt control herself from hurting me", which were big words from someone i was not scared of in any way, but slay.

Regardless, the server moved forward.

Kirishima was, in this setting, a gay guy. I'm pretty sure he also had lesbian moms. Summer decided to take the exciting "discovering your identity" approach, despite confiding in us that she really didn't come out until well into adulthood, but one is not limited to live experience in the world of fiction, yeah? however, i think some people should be.

anticipation builds in the ooc chat. monoma makes an off-hand comment about being gay. kirishima asks, "what's that?"

we are aghast. this continues. not only does imaginary gay kirishima not know what gay is, he doesnt know what lgbt stands for. when a comment is made that he could google it, a joke about it all being inappropriate images is dropped. the homophobia is beginning to stink. however i have promised i would not get into more fights (liar) so me and the shinsou and bakugou rpers are just like, ribbing at it a little in the ooc chat. like, "man, i wish i was this sheltered growing up, maybe i wouldnt have been bullied in school" or something to that effect, which summer takes very personally and adamantly defends her right to imagine a world where it is in any way realistic for a sixteen year old who is gay and has gay moms to be this stupid.

but nonetheless, the in character chat goes on. kirishima is still getting hooked on phonics style sexuality. and then kaminari decides to whip out a chart. which chart?

needlessly to say, we were baffled. surely no one believes this is how anything works, yes?

the vilification of hypersexuality (medical symptom, often of trauma). the bizarre insistence on carefully organizing every aspect of attraction on a gradient. its such a fascinating little piece of bullfucker, but furthermore,

in a world in which the LGBT acronym is too hard for someone to grasp, im supposed to believe he just clicks with Sexuality Battleship??? I'm a professional faggot and this thing confuses me.

It was such beautiful insight into their minds. A world in which one can skip all the annoying gay people parts of sexuality labels and instead dive right into the microcosms of what was solely relevant to them. it also fantastically predicted the future homophobia i would be subject to, including a line about how "gay people had enough and wouldnt stop stealing ace rep" about the magnus archives, and also the todoroki conversion therapy moment, but this was really just a truly incredible appetizer to the full course of dumb fuckery.

reread the rest thus far of lackadaisy and there's the both v easy & difficult task of gathering a shit ton but only a shit ton of excerpts (like every single page is a highlight i'm not exaggerating)

and every single element is superlative and the way it all only becomes More So....already mentioned the way the like smooth gradient shading made the successful evocation of 3D Shapes more noticeable, along w/the consistent geometries of character design & details in fabric folds; the way Lighting & Coloring only goes on to become more prominent elements only enhances that further. the compositions, backgrounds, pacing, angles....everything is so dynamic & expressive, such as including the expressions which you know i also Love / absorbed

going "hell yes for people to discover this superlative comic" then having to occasionally refresh past site traffic overloaded server errors like "nooo" but actually yes

whilest clapping & cheering for the fun of everyone who's been here a minute. My God the invigorating reward when again i started reading in '07 & the concept of rocky & freckle on a "proper" run had only manifested via fun official bonus art, then a literal decade later as it was actually happening in the comic like screeeeaammm i can feel it coming in the air tonight oh lord etc....i've loved following it, again, if i see another new comic page. i am going to be Enriched

Before The Fleet [NWR AU]

Sorry for my lack of AU posts recently, I've been rather busy. To get things rolling again, here's a bit about some of the engines that were loaned to the North Western but didn't stay. Seeing as I'll be talking about multiple very different engines, I'll format this slightly different to my usual posts.

Brooke the Bullying Engine

Brooke was a Great Central Railway Class 1 that was loaned to the North Western in 1915. She was meant to be the engine pulling the express, but mostly found herself rostered on heavy freight work due to her size and power. Her official name was City of Lincoln, but if you called her that, you might just end up in the turntable well. She was a horrible bully by all accounts and along with her accomplices Ashley and Micah, she reigned over Vicarstown through fear and violence until her return to the Great Central Railway in 1922.

Ashley the Eastern Engine

Ashley was a Great Eastern Railway S69 fitted with experimental larger cylinders. They were loaned to the North Western in 1916 to undergo trials but ended up staying until 1922. They did the passenger work that Edith couldn't. Upon the purchase and subsequent failures of Henry in 1918, they had to pick up the slack from both engines. Being reportedly as rude and self-important as Brooke, they wreaked havoc upon Vicarstown until their return to the G.E.R.

Micah the Mineral Engine

Micah was a Caledonian Railway 600 class loaned to the NWR in 1918. He was brought in to pick up the slack in the freight work that Henry and Edith were meant to be doing. Out of the 3 horrid engines stationed at Vicarstown, he was likely the worst. He often bullied smaller engines such as Thomas, Edith and some of the other loaned shunters. He even sent an engine to the works once. Everyone on the line was glad when he was called back to Scotland by the C.R. in 1922.

Sprite the Buckjumper Engine

Sprite was a Great Eastern Railway S56 that was loaned to the North Western in 1916 to run the Ffarquhar Branchline. They took over from 2 of the much smaller TK&ELR Coffee Pot engines. They worked the line mostly without fuss or incident until 1925, when Thomas was reassigned to the branch and they were sent back to the Great Eastern Railway.

Elsie the Midland Engine

Elsie was a Midland Railway 1377 Class loaned to the North Western Railway in 1917. She took over the mantle of Tidmouth's station pilot from Wellsworth & Suddery Railway No.1. She worked the role without fuss for quite some time, becoming a favourite target of Micah's due to her small size and relatively low power output. She was sent back home in 1925 when the North Western Railway bought Percy.

Kirtley the Old Engine

Kirtley was a Midland Railway 700 Class loaned to the North Western Railway in 1914. She did short-distance freight work and other odd jobs. She was reportedly very kind-hearted and surprisingly strong-willed despite her age. She left the island in 1947 after 3 years of inactivity when the L.M.S. recalled her to Derby Works for scrap.

Jenny the Banking Engine

Jenny was a Lancashire & Yorkshire Railway Aspinall Class 30 loaned to the railway in 1914. To start with, she worked the railway's heavy freight services but was reallocated to the Suddery Junction banker siding in 1918 when Micah was purchased. She worked through the 10s, 20s, 30s and 40s pushing trains up the gradient, during which time her northern bluntness and hospitality rubbed off on some. Sir Topham Hatt I had made plans to buy her from the LMS, but they came too late as she was recalled to Horwich Works for scrap in 1946.

Yeah, okay Mattel 💀.

If they actually are going to make MH more inclusive, then hell fucking yeah, do that shit. But why wait until Pride month to do it?? Like come on, we aren't stupid. This is just screaming "oh look it's gay month, let's take their money and give them false hope that we changed" like every other big brand this month and it's annoying as hell.

The MH crew tries so hard to make the brand as inclusive as they can, but Mattel just won't let them and it's sad. I highly doubt anything is actually going to come from this "inclusive message".

Chicago Things I’ve Experienced that give TWST boy energy

Cw// uh shit you find in urban cities, swearing, chaotic behavior, light bullying of my hometown and also the boys

Riddle: I went to the library when I was like 12 and a lady yelled at me about my jacket that had a lyric on the back (I did not know her. She went on a rant about keeping my image clean and not doing free advertising for people I don’t know. Very strange I cried afterward)

Ace: saw a guy wearing the different patterns. One was neon tie dye, one was checkered pattern, and the other was like a gradient background with palm leaf pattern on it. He was also wearing socks with sandals and really stupid sunglasses

Deuce: going to the museum of science and industry into the cloning exhibit and having to listen to 20 small children ask where the chicks (baby chickens) come from (cloning)

Cater: walking down the street and running into some asshole taking pictures of the building in the middle of the fucking sidewalk.

Trey: the roughly 10 million donut shops in Chicagoland area that all claim to be the best. The best is dorite donuts or firecakes but every mom and pop place thinks they have the corner market on overly sweet fried dough

Leona: the bus driver that looks like he’s slept 3 hours in the past week and has definitely run over someone glaring at me while I try and pay for my ride

Ruggie: ex coworker of mine being given popcorn by a guest (“They said they didn’t want it”) and proceeding to eat it. I suspect this popcorn was dropped on the ground and that’s why they didn’t want it but it remains a mystery to this day

Jack: saw two people get off of the bike path to bike on the highway. This is very illegal and very dangerous, please do not do that.

Azul: mafia tours. Chicago literally has so much mafia history that we take tourists on TOURS of the city to go see old crime spots.

Jade: me telling everyone not to swim in the lake and being ignored until I tell them about lampreys in the lake, then people want to listen.

Floyd: Floyd is literally so Chicago vibes I don’t know if I can narrow it down. I’m gonna say riot fest being banned from a park because of property damage but in reality it’s just the whole city he would love it here

Kalim: Lincoln park zoo. Just like as a whole

Jamil: calling it “the bean” because fuck Anish Kapoor :)

Vil: the Magnificent Mile that is decently impressive and actually 1.3 miles. He would love the overpriced food and clothes

Rook: that time the archerfish at the Shedd aquarium spat on me not once, not twice, but four times. Stop hunting me you fucking fish that’s so fucking rude I am not a BUG.

Epel: the cow tunnels going through the city and also the fact that we just built roads on top of each other since we’re slowly sinking into the swamp we’re built on

Idia: Chicago formerly being the candy capital of the world long, long ago. We actually still have a lot of candy places here and Idia would probably adore getting a 15 pound bag of sour patch kids :)

Ortho: the fact that Greek town smells like chocolate half the time. This is because of the chocolate factory, Blommers, that is still in town and in production! Ortho would enjoy simply knowing it smells nice

Malleus: malleus is making friends with every gargoyle in town, except for Defiance and Prowl in front of the art institute, which are not gargoyles and he will be informing everyone who has that misconception about it.

Lilia: the guy that tried to cross Lake Michigan in a giant red hamster ball. Twice. He was retrieved unharmed both times

Sebek: the chance the snapper incident many moons ago

Silver: the people who sleep on public transport. I’m terrified of them how do you know when to wake up?? How do you know when to get off the bus??

last post gave me the idea to throw out random character hcs so here i go

♡ i like to exaggerate the aspect of robin being a shut-in in my head a little more. she probably has lost touch with socializing because of it so it makes her nervous. gardening is a hobby shes picked up recently to try to motivate herself to leave her room more often

♡ a weirdly specific one but f sydney and sometimes m sydney wear very red-centric makeup. very subtle when theyre pure, more prominent when corrupt. id like to draw their usual look sometime but in case i dont post it heres my awkward description: red eyeshadow (maybe it evolves to a red undereye byojaku when corrupt), and lips tinted in a gradient, deepest red inner and lightens to outer.

♡ kylar is a he/they but only mentions it to people who they 1: have personally gotten to know and 2: dont bully him (probably just pc and maybe sydney. maybe tried mentioning it to their monster parents but. yknow.)

♡ niki has a former-smoking induced oral fixation and is trying to quit

♡ doren has reading glasses. mgmdnf something something big muscular people with glasses..........

♡ said this like twice on here but whitney is a trans man. i like to imagine that since whitney was so "respected" around school and everyone was so used to him doing whatever he liked (when he wasnt being peer pressured) that people rarely gave him shit for transitioning when he did

♡ can i confidently say that dol fandom mutually agrees that kylar unironically listens to vocaloid nightcore and in every other aspect is the embodiment of an emo weeb middle school phase that was never grown out of or am i just. projecting. also saw a post saying that he is probably a tumblr yandere and it stuck with me ever since

♡ harper's hair is very soft and well-kempt. whether this is natural or something he puts time into is a mystery

♡ sirris probably masturbates in his time between classes every now and then,,, just. in the classroom. kinda has low self control and will do a few things like this without taking the risk of being caught into account very much (i.e. dropped dildo event)

♡ harper has had his own experiences with the wraith prior to when he became a "doctor". it got so bad that the paranoia would eventually keep him up at night and it stuck with him to where hes fixated on using his now-colleagues' scientific abilities to get some sort of clarity. on the note of harper being a former asylum patient, he had experienced a good few of the things he gaslights his own patients about and denies them for both his own sake and some sort of cynical and twisted feeling of "helping" them. but the wraith? that's something he just can't bring himself to ignore.

♡ since kylar usually has sex with pc in public-ish places they usually try their best to keep relatively quiet. the second you and him are in private? loud moaner and constant babbler. prefers this bc it feels amazing to him to express how much he loves you, but their easy desperation for you gets the better of them. (haunted house event)

♡ harper is just a little genderqueer. as a treat.

AHHH IM SO PROUD OF MORRIGAN!!

This was a character I was debating on posting but I love how this came out so imma post them! I used Lilia’s sprite as a base and lengthened his pants, I really liked the details on his uniform pants but didn’t like the length on Morrigan.

Some general information on Morrigan;

They are half fae, half human. It’s belived their mother was a Raven fae.

I kind of wanted to play into that by mimicking the holographic nature of Raven/crow feathers. It’s a little hard to see but instead of making the hair highlights just blue or something, I tried to make it a blue/purple/teal gradient!

Morrigan is also wearing Raven feather earrings, their hair just covers them 🤧

Morrigan is the twisted version of Morgan Le Fay /Morgana from both Sofia the First and Arthurian Legend

Morrigan is genderfluid and has no preference of pronouns given they will change their physical form whenever they want

Originally their name was just Morgan/Morgana, but I didn’t want to just reuse the exact name. When I was looking into similar names I saw that researchers have tried to link The Morrigan and Morgana. Ngl I like the spelling of Morrigan, it looks more magical to me

Morrigan was born in the Kingdom of Swords but was cast out of their kingdom when they were little alongside their younger brother Archer (my Arthur inspired oc) when their uncle usurped the throne.

Morrigan and Archer were separated when they were being sent out of the kingdom. Morrigan would later be found and cared for by Crowley. Archer would be found by Ambrose but is generally looked after by a friend of Ambrose’s

Morrigan’s birth name is Morrigan Caliburnus, though they go by “Crowley” because they were raised by Crowley

Because the siblings were so young, they didn’t know of the other’s existence until Archer began attending RSA.

Morrigan ignored Crowley for two months after finding out about Archer because they were upset that Crowley and Ambrose hid this from them.

Morrigan said they were over the situation pretty early on, but wanted to bully Crowley a little.

Because Crowley seems to love vacationing, I imagine him and Morrigan traveled a lot when Morrigan was young.

Due to this, Morrigan didn’t watch a lot of tv as a kid. They were too busy exploring the towns and cities they would visit.

Morrigan befriended Vil when they were kids. Like Jack, Morrigan didn’t know Vil was a child actor when they met because they didn’t watch TV

When Vil and Morrigan were kids he often mistook Morrigan for a girl because of their more feminine appearance. B/c Morrigan doesn’t take to much stock in how they are viewed gender wise, they never corrected Vil.

Morrigan likes to tease Vil because when they met again at NRC, when Morrigan was a freshman, Vil didn’t recognize them right away.

Morrigan also befriended Silver when they were kids. They had taken one of Crowley’s magic mirrors and traveled to Briar Valley because they were bored.

They ended up meeting Malleus and the others through Silver.

Back then Morrigan thought Malleus and Sebek were “weird” but said that’s what made them interesting to be around.

Morrigan was gifted a small magic mirror by Crowley when they were 16. It was mainly so that Morrigan would stop stealing his mirrors.

The mirror is a small handheld one, think Eve’s mirror from the Descendants movies. The only difference is that Morrigan’s can create portals to places in Twisted Wonderland

Morrigan is in the same class as Harry and Riddle, though didn’t really befriend/interact with them until after Riddle’s overblot

Morrigan is sometimes called lazy because they often don’t like attending classes. In reality they have a really odd sleep schedule and will sometimes stay up for hours exploring campus or reading up on ancient relics leaving them exhausted.

The only reason Morrigan regularly goes to classes even when tired is because Crowley would likely throw a fit if they didn’t.

Morrigan is skilled in magic across the board (they are in Daisomnia after all) but excels in ancient curses. They also love to study ancient relics and artifacts.

Like Malleus, Morrigan founded the “Study of ancient relics” club, though is currently the only member. The activities of the club are pretty self explanatory.

Morrigan is often seen as an intimidating figure like most Daisomnia students. Tack on their relation to Crowley and most stead clear of them.

Because they often wander around campus alone and like to look into ancient relics/spells/artifacts/etc a lot of students who don’t know Morrigan are put off or creeped out by them

However, to those who know them, Morrigan is a friendly and generally good natured person. They have a mischievous and sarcastic personality and are known to tease people they’re close with. It’s kind of like their love language in a way.

They’re pretty charismatic and seem to be friendly to most people they meet when they actually socialise. They enjoy good gossip and can usually be seen gossiping with Rook, and occasionally Harry.

Overall Morrigan is just vibing most of the time lol. They’re just goin with the flow for the most part

Morrigan does, however, have quite a temper and can hold grudges (or appear to hold grudges) for a long time. Their anger usually is rooted in worry for their friends and loved ones; they can be quite protective.

Like I mentioned earlier, they became quite upset when they found out Crowley was hiding the truth about their past/family.

They even ignored Crowley for two months, and while they don’t necessarily hold a grudge anymore they are still a little bitter about it.

Morrigan also seems to hold some animosity or disinterest towards Neige LaBanche, though it seems to be rooted more out of worrie for Vil than anything Neige actually did.

Morrigan has also shown some sense of vanity. While they don’t necessarily care how people view them in regard to gender, they still take pride in their appearance. I like to think this is a trait a lot of Raven fae share to some degree.

One of their pet peeves is when people touch their hair without asking, especially if it’s Crowley

I think that’s all for now. I had something else I wanted to add but I can’t remember what it is. I’m sure it’ll come to me at some point.

now this is starting to go somewhere! im having so much fun writing the boys! :)

Part 5

It doesn’t take me long to unpack as I only have my most important things with me. After putting my clothes in one of the drawers, I set my laptop and graphic tablet down on the couch table and put my makeup in the bathroom. With more than half an hour left, I decide to change since I’m still in my school outfit. I put on some black skinny jeans, an oversized band shirt (not Heartsteel, that would be cringe), black with blue accents and a thin choker. I’m a little bit hyped to finally use the huge mirror in the bathroom to do my makeup. With practiced motions I do quick smokey eyes with a gradient from turquoise to black (you might have picked up on a pattern by now). When I’m just about to finish the second one, I hear a soft knocking from the door.

“Give me a few seconds, I’ll be right there!” I yell and the knocking stops. I quickly finish the second eye and lean back for a second to assess my work. It looks pretty good so I turn around and quickly open the door. Aphelios is waiting in front of it, leaning against the wall. He looks at me with a smile and then turns, leading me to the stairs. I follow him nervously, suddenly realizing what is going to happen.

We descend into the entrance hall from earlier and from there through one of the mysterious doors. As soon as he opens the door, I can hear voices, laughing and chatting with each other. I can’t see who they belong to yet but I know who we’re supposed to meet and my heart sinks. The room is L-shaped and seems to be a living room. There are posters on the walls, many warm lights, some plants and when we round the corner, I can see an absolutely massive couch. With the rest of Heartsteel lounging on it. It takes everything to keep myself from squealing and I try to hide a bit behind Aphelios who snaps his fingers to get attention.

Everyone turns around and looks at us. Aphelios signs something to the boys and they grin at me, seemingly excited to meet me.

“Hwei! Nice to meet you, dude!” Sett yells, giving me a little wave with his massive hand. I’m still just nervously smiling, not sure what to even say.

“Hey, you can come over, there’s more space on the couch, sit with us!” K’Sante says, giving me a fatherly smile. I slowly move towards them, Aphelios following me.

K’Sante laughs and pushes Kayn to the side, who gives him a “fuck you!” but is grinning the whole time. I sit down between them, making myself as small as possible, worried about making someone uncomfortable by being too close or something. I look around and see Sett pulling Aphelios towards him by his hand, sitting him on his lap and holding him tight. Aphelios slightly blushes when he sees me watching so I look away. In between me and them there’s Kayn, who sits there sunken deep into the couch, his body tilted towards me, arm casually draped over the couch’s backrest, looking at me with no attempt at hiding his curiosity. I quickly turn my head before going completely insane. I mean I just met all of my idols. And they’re all staring at me. K’Sante next to me is just sitting there relaxed, looking into the round, clearly trying not to make me as nervous. 

I nearly jump when someone taps my shoulder and my head spins around to look at the boy around my age who sits on the backrest. He has similar hair as me, just a bit brighter. He gives me a big grin and says “Nice hair!”

“thank you” I quietly stammer, unable to look him in the eyes.

“Aww you’re so shy, it’s cute!” he laughs and my face is probably beet-red by now.

“Stop bullying him, Ez.” Yone hasn’t said anything until now but I’m so glad he’s pulling everyone’s attention onto himself. Not that I minded Ezreal's teasing, it’s just all very overwhelming right now.
