Man, I am just thinking... Alix clock was always a miraculous just camouflaged, right? Then why the heck did in Timebreaker the clock broke? Miraculous can only be broken by a cataclysm, is it because the bunny miraculous was broken then just a teen running over the watch with a skate enough to break it? That doesn't make sense either Because ok, if you break something its resistance would decrease, BUT if the miraculous is so broken that something UNBREAKABLE gets breaked by a skate then it shouldn't even be able to camouflage in the first place,
ALSO it's Said on the show that " if you cataclysm a miraculous, if would became dust"
BUT apparently before it becames dust Adult alix gets send to the past with the miraculous, and apparently Hibernating? Like she doesn't get old, she just looks like she's sleeping,
So is implied that someone found the miraculous and passed into it was on mini alix hands, BUT WASN'T THE MIRACULOUS BROKEN? DID IT JUST HAS IT FIXED ITSLED DURING THE YEARS? WE HAVE ALREADY SEEN BROKEN MIRACULOUS AND IT DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT
With all that we can conclude, time travel in miraculous is a big plot hole, that contributes nothing to the story and Is just there to make the snake miraculous look useless

Miracle Queen: Hawk Moth steals all the miraculouses and gives them to Chloe to team up with him, and ends up revealing the identities of all the other holders.
Bunnyx: I sleep
Strike Back: Marinette is tricked into trusting Felix, and he steals all of the miraculouses from her and gives them to Gabriel; thus causing all the other holders to be inactive.
Bunnyx: I sleep
Emotion: Felix reveals himself as Argos with the Peacock miraculous and commits genocide
Bunnyx: I sleep
Representation: Kagami and Felix reveal that Gabriel is Monarch to Marinette
Bunnyx: I sleep
Cat Blanc: Adrien and Marinette find out each other's identity and the world is doomed.
Bunnyx: HOLY SHIT, I NEED TO GO BACK IN TIME AND WARN LADYBUG ABOUT THIS!
My best guess is that this is history goes, but the show doesn't do enough to really clarify what warrants using time travel to fix everything.

What if I reworked the Miraculous Powers Part 2: Zodiac Boogaloo
(Part one here)
Unlike the Yinyang/Wu Xing miraculous, the big problem woth the Zodiac miraculous is that some of them are waaay overtuned while the rest are situational. So my solution is to make all of them situational! The Pig miraculous has an amazing power, fight me. Because most of these miraculous fit the idea I have for them, Ill only focus on the ones that need a change.
Mouse miraculous of Multiplication
Multitude: Stays exactly the same, I love this superpower!
Ox miraculous of Determination
Resistance: I previously changed the Ladybug miraculous so it can counter every other miraculous, which makes this miraculous kind of redundant... but I can't think of a better power, so I guess it stays?
Tiger miraculous of Elation
Clout: The user roars with exhilarating energy, forcing the target(s) of their choosing to focus on them. (Who's bright idea was it to make this thing a Black Cat knock off? At least the Goat miraculous is used differently than the Ladybug, but the Tiger and Cat have the same job of destroying stuff!) (So Juleka's whole character arc is that she wants to come out of her shell and she wanst her dad to see her so, maybe invisibility isn't a good power for her miraculous fandom:/ Anyway, the new power is just a video game taunt, forcing enemies to hyperfocus on Juleka. You can even give her some rockstar style roars to tie that into her identity)
Rabbit miraculous of Evolution
Rabbit Hole: The user rewinds their pocket watch a set number of times to travel back in time for 5 minutes. During the 5 minutes, the user can change events in the past which is guaranteed to change events in the present. The user can also choose to go back to their time period during the 5 minutes, and if they don't they will become stuck in the past because this power cannot travel to the future outside of resetting itself during it's 5 minutes. (That paragraph up there is the only way I knew to nerf this dang thing because I couldn't think of a new rabbit based power that dosen't step on another miraculous toes. WTF. Where do I even begin. Why is the shows Rabbit miraculous so incredibly different from every other power??? Why does it get its own Doctor Who room? Why does it not have a time limit and NO I do not accept that nonsense, timey whimy answer! Just why time travel in general???? I just, oof. Anyway, the rabbit miraculous is now used the same way Marinette used it during the season 4 finale, we need to do one thing in the past to save the future and then we go back to our time. Doing anything else is going to cause a paradox)
Dragon miraculous of Perfection(the name needs to be changed but I can't think of one that relates to the weather powers)
Wind/Water/Lightning Dragon: Sigh, ok this miraculous is what I mean when I say overturned. You can change into an element, you can control an element, and you can do it 3 times in a row??? No, the Dragon miraculous power let's you control one of three elements and then it goes on cool down. No using 3 powers in a row unless you're mature.
Snake miraculous of Intuition
Future Vision: it's literally a rip off of Garnet's power from SU. The user winds up their snake bracelet to play out different future scenarios in their head. These scenarios are life like to the user, but are not actually happening. (I like the idea that this miraculous seems like it's a psychic power when it's actually time travel, but time travel is waaay overpowered for a zodiac miraculous. Clairvoyance it is then)
Horse miraculous of Transportation
Voyage: The power gets you to your destination because it's a horse, get it? It's super lame, but I'll take it (at least this miraculous requires intelligence to use effectively, which matches its holder's personality. More than I can say for some other miraculous) (wait a minute this is the Miraculous of Migration now, wtf)
Goat miraculous of Passion Imagination
Genesis: Miraculous of Passion, dafaq??? Anyway, the power is still a discount of the Ladybug miraculous but it gets to stay for having a different function than the Ladybug power (I win button vs imagination power)
Monkey miraculous of Derision
Uproar: The power is a little op, but because of the changes I made to the Ladybug and Cat it shouldn't be too bad. (I like how this miraculous title foreshadowed that Kim is like low key a jerk.)
Rooster miraculous of Pretension
Sublimation: The user makes an impossible claim about one of the abilities they already possess, and the power makes that claim true for 5 minutes. (it was so easy to not make this thing broken, but the writer just had to use it as a lazy reason for why Hawkmoth can turn invisible! My reworked power works the way we all thought it did before season 5, it only effects physical abilities you already had. Kicking a ball into a goal is something you can already do, but with the rooster you can never miss a goal. This rework is still pretty powerful as far as zodiac miraculous go, but its no where near as bad as before)
Dog miraculous of Adoration
Fetch: Stays the same, it's not overtuned and it makes thematic sense for a dog hero.
Pig miraculous of Jubilation
Gift: Stays the same. F everyone who says its a bad power, its one of the best!

Why didn’t they go back to prevent the Miraculous from being taken? Evolution spoilers
When Ladybug and Cat Noir were using future Bunnyx miraculous to stop Monarch from taking their miraculous in the past, the question that came to mind was why they didn't use the bunny miraculous to go back in time to the point where Ladybug’s yoyo was taken by the dog miraculous and prevent Monarch from taking all the miraculous in the box?. Now, the reason they didn't go back to this exact point and prevent Monarch from obtaining the miraculous, is because they were not suppose to.
Tumblr media
When Bunnyx appeared in “Evolution”, she wasn’t there to help Ladybug and Cat Noir go back to the exact point in time when Ladybug would lose her yoyo, she was there to help them figure out what point in time Monarch traveled to, in order to stop him from potentially re-writing history. Now, surprisingly enough, the thing that was not re-writing history was Monarch possessing all the miraculous, meaning that time was still moving as it should despite Ladybugs loss.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Monarch obtaining all the miraculous within Ladybugs yoyo near the end of "Strike Back" was something that needed to happen, because if it didn’t, Monarch would not have attempted to mess with time, and from there, Ladybug and Cat Noir would not have met Master Fu in the past, which guaranteed their future as miraculous holders.
Tumblr media
Fu had always been cautious about entrusting miraculous to others, but when the time came for him to select new holders, he knew that his test in "Origins" could have drawn anyone to come and help him, but because he had already met the heroes in the past, Fu always knew it would be the two he saw long ago, even if he didn't know their identities as a result of the miraculous quantum masking effect.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But aside from this, if Gabriel hadn't obtained all the miraculous, even if he didn't know their identities as a result of the miraculous quantum masking effect. But aside from this, if Gabriel hadn't obtained all the miraculous, young Alix would not have been asked to help retrieve the bunny miraculous and become its permanent holder, while Ladybug and Cat Noir would not have gone through the much needed process of repairing their bond.
Tumblr media
Ladybug and Cat Noirs only mission was to stop Monarch from leaping through time and get the bunny miraculous back. So when Monarch laid unconscious after suffering the effects of using to many miraculous, Ladybug and Cat Noir were not quick to take the other miraculous, not because they didn't want to, but because they knew that so long as they obtained the bunny miraculous, Monarch would simply be left as another person whos time could be manipulated through their power alone.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And as we saw near the end of "Evolution, that's exactly what Bunnyx did when she returned Monarch to the present so Ladybug and Cat Noir could capture him with ease. And yet, despite feeling victory was within reach on multiple occasions, the one thing they continued to struggle in accepting was that their fight against Monarch was no longer about just them gaining the upper hand in a fight, it was now about him gaining an advantage over them as he wielded the other miraculous.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They knew what he could do with just two miraculous in his possession, but now that he had 16, there was no telling what he was capable of. And sure, Ladybug could have just tried to go back in time to prevent Shadow Moth from taking all the miraculous, but she didn’t, because she knew from Bunnyx and from her experience in, “Time Breaker”, “Time Tagger”, and “Cat Blanc”, that time is something you should NOT mess with so easily.
Ladybug and Cat Noir could've gone back, but by altering the past, they would have no idea how it would affect the present and future. So given everything that’s happened, Ladybug was just more responsible than Monarch and knew not to mess with time, she left that to the professionals.

We know that Ladybug didn't tell Chloe that she could no longer be Queen Bee anymore because Chloe was a bully. After all, Chloe was a bully when Ladybug first called her for help. We know that Ladybug didn’t kick Chloe off because her identity was public knowledge. After all, Ladybug allowed Alix’s dad to reveal Alix’s superhero identity to the class. We know that Ladybug didn’t kick Chloe out because Chloe’s incompetent. Chloe proved to be competent each time Ladybug called her for help...
So you mean to tell me that the show relies on being hypocritical?
Well call me Selena Gomez and "Tell me something I don't know."

Did Bunnyx set Marinette to fail? Because the salt take that Marinette "should not release so many Miraculous/have so many team members" and Bunnyx's statement that Ladybug would lead a superhero team in future... Did Marinette try set up her team due Bunnyx's comment?
Yeah that salt makes zero sense! Marinette was obviously listening to her teammate from the future. I also remember what Bunnyx said - so does Ladybug.
Bunnyx: In the future Hawk Moth is more powerful so you formed a team of superheroes to fight him.
Hawk Moth: *becomes more powerful*
Marinette: *forms a team of superheroes to fight Hawk Moth*
Salters: See this is some bs this makes no sense.
?????
Even if Bunnyx didn't say it, it's obvious that Ladybug needs more help because Hawk Moth is indeed more powerful now.

From Ashes to Embers
Tumblr media
I returned to my room, but the weight of the day's events still lingered in my mind. The exhilaration of the battle had faded, leaving behind a sense of weariness mixed with a tinge of dissatisfaction. As I closed the door behind me, seeking solace in the familiar surroundings of my sanctuary, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread for what could come next.
Just as I settled onto my bed, there was a soft yet persistent knock echoed through the room. I furrowed my brows, wondering who could be seeking my attention at this late hour. With a slight sigh, I walked towards the door, my steps filled with a mix of curiosity and mild apprehension.
I hesitated for a moment before opening the trapdoor, uncertain of what awaited me on the other side. As the door swung open, my eyes widened in surprise, greeted by the unexpected sight of Alya, Juleka, Mylene, Rose, and Alix, their expressions a blend of sincerity and remorse
"Look, Marinette, we're really sorry, honestly," Alya's voice carried a hint of regret, her words laced with a genuine desire to make amends.
A wave of emotions washed over me caught between forgiveness and lingering hurt. The memories of their past actions still lingered, like scars yet to fully heal. But as I looked into their eyes, I saw a glimmer of genuine remorse, a flicker of hope for change.
Taking a moment to collect my thoughts, I mustered a gentle yet firm response. "I appreciate your apology," I began, my voice filled with a mix of caution and forgiveness. "But actions speak louder than words. Show me that you mean it, and we can start rebuilding the trust that was broken."
"Please, Marinette, we only want to make this right," Alya pleaded, her voice filled with a mix of sincerity and desperation. Her eyes searched mine, longing for understanding and forgiveness.
I stood there, my heart torn between past hurt and the flicker of hope that burned within me. The words hung heavy in the air, each syllable a reminder of the fractures that had formed within our once unbreakable bond.
"Yeah, Marinette, we can put all this behind us," Rose chimed in, her voice soft and earnest. "And all of us, including Lila, can be friends again."
Juleka's voice joined the chorus, her words laced with a touch of sadness. "Plus, it would be nice to see Luka smile again. He misses you," she revealed, her eyes filled with longing for the camaraderie that had been lost.
Mylene's voice was hesitant yet honest. "We just want things to go back to normal," she admitted, her gaze filled with a mix of regret and yearning.
But their pleas only served to reopen old wounds, stirring a well of frustration and resentment deep within me. The weight of their expectations, the constant pressure to be the perfect friend, had taken its toll. I couldn't bear the thought of returning to that version of "normal" where my own needs and desires were overlooked.
The anger within me bubbled to the surface, and I couldn't help but lash out. "You mean the normal where I just did everything for all of you?" I retorted, my voice tinged with frustration and hurt. "Where I was running myself ragged, trying to constantly make everything perfect for everyone else, and got nothing in return? That normal?"
The room seemed to shrink around us, the tension thickening the air with an almost palpable heaviness. Posters on the walls, once vibrant reminders of shared adventures, now served as silent witnesses to the fractures that threatened to tear us apart.
The tension in the room escalated as Alya made a decision, her voice firm. "You know what, it's clear you don't want to be friends, so we'll just go," she declared, her words laden with a mix of disappointment and resignation. Mylene, Rose, and Juleka followed Alya's lead, their footsteps echoing through the room as they left, leaving only Alix standing by my side. Tears welled up in my eyes, a torrent of emotions threatening to consume me. With a trembling voice, I looked at Alix, watching as she walked over to me standing face-to-face with me. "You can go with them if you want Alix, I'm not going to ask you to choose between them or me," I began, my voice laced with vulnerability. "I just can't ignore the pain that has been inflicted upon me anymore."
Alix's response was immediate, her voice filled with compassion and determination. "I'm not asking you to, Mars," she reassured me, her arms enveloping me in a comforting embrace. "Just let me in, please. You don't have to go through this alone."
The dam of emotions broke, and I found myself crying, releasing the pent-up frustration and loneliness that had consumed me. Alix held me tight, providing a safe space for me to let it all out.
"I just feel so alone," I confessed between sobs, my voice trembling with vulnerability. "I feel like no matter what I do, I'm always letting people down. I had to break up with Luka because I felt so lost in myself, and it wasn't fair to him. Alya keeps trying to push me to be with Adrien, even though I keep telling her I don't love him anymore. They keep trying to push me to be friends with Lila, even though she's lying to everyone. I just hate it so much."
Alix's embrace tightened her unwavering support, a lifeline in the storm that raged within me. She listened without judgment, offering a comforting presence as my tears subsided. At that moment, I realized that I didn't have to face these challenges alone.
“You're not alone anymore Mari,” Alix said, “I’m going to make it up to you and be there for you as I should've been from the beginning.” As the tears subsided, a glimmer of hope flickered within me. I wiped away the remnants of my sadness, my gaze meeting Alix's with newfound determination. "Thank you, Alix," I whispered, my voice filled with gratitude. I gave her a watery smile as she left.
"What did you do, Mininette?" a familiar voice echoed through the room, causing a jolt of surprise to run through me. Turning around, I found Bunnyx standing there, her expression a mix of curiosity and concern.
"Bunnyx, what are you doing here?" I asked, my voice filled with a mixture of confusion and anticipation. It wasn't every day that a time-traveling superhero appeared in my room.
A small sigh escaped Bunnyx as she regarded me with a knowing gaze. "The whole timeline has changed, Marinette," she explained, her voice tinged with urgency. "So, what did you do? Or rather, what didn't you do?"
My heart pounded in my chest as I absorbed Bunnyx's words, the weight of their implications crashing over me like a tidal wave. The full gravity of my actions, or rather, my inactions, became painfully clear. The ripples of my choices had reverberated through time, altering the very fabric of the timeline. Bunnyx's presence served as an undeniable confirmation of the consequences I had unwittingly set in motion.
"You had me stay back... And you gave me the Fox Miraculous," Bunnyx murmured, her voice filled with a mixture of confusion and realization. Her brows furrowed as she sifted through the newly acquired memories, piecing together the puzzle that my altered timeline presented.
I stared at her, a mix of guilt and apprehension swirling within me. "Yeah... I needed help and there wasn't anyone else I could think to trust in that moment than you," I admitted, my voice tinged with uncertainty. "But... was there something else I was supposed to do?"
Bunnyx's expression softened, sympathy etched in her features. She sighed, her gaze distant as she recounted the original timeline. "Originally, during your fight against the Gang of Secrets, you gave Alya the Fox Miraculous," she explained, her voice laced with a hint of nostalgia. "And it was after that, when she was the one who stayed behind, that you and Alya grew closer than ever before."
A pang of regret shot through me as Bunnyx's words sank in. "I... I was going to reveal my identity. I have been feeling so alone Bunnyx, and it hurts, it hurts so much. I was thinking about revealing my identity more specifically to Alya because she used to be such a good friend and has helped me so much, but it's clear she doesn't see things the way I do. I choose you because I figured if you're still here by my side in the future then it must've been for a good reason."
Bunnyx nodded, understanding evident in her gaze. "You did good Mininette, in fact in the grand scheme of things, this timeline is better off than before. Also, you might want to study that grimoire a little bit more.” Bunnyx smiled down at me, "Just you wait Mininette, you won't be alone for much longer, you'll see you'll have everything you want and so much more." And with that just as quickly as she came she disappeared just as quickly.

Man, hearing about the season 1 days of miraculous makes remember when we first saw the leaks of the season and first the art for the pearls and stone, Alya with the fox (and how everyone called her Volpina), and Chloe with the bee. Man, those were days. I also remember how everyone was thinking Gabriel had the peacock and Emilie had the butterfly originally. I even remember when we first got that one image of Pixie Girl, and everyone thought she was a teenage Emilie with the butterfly miraculous that was going to appear in a flashback episode 😆. Ah, I miss those days.
Gosh so much is taking me back.
I remember expanded Square chaos. I remember there were theories of Ladybug and "Volpina"/Rena being rivals/antagonists to each other as a reversal of them being best friends + clearly Marinette wouldn't trust the new Fox (which I was never crazy about, especially as you typically didn't see that for Adrien and Nino, felt like turning girls against each other); and QB and LB were going be friendly. And there were speculated shenanigans for QB and RR, I think there was also a small rise of Chloya and the idea that maybe they'd have their own Square going.
Some I didn't see, like the theory that Pixie was teen Emilie, but I did see that she was planned for the NY Special, and there were the plans for the Shanghai Special.
Tumblr media
I really did theorize that Marinette and Adrien were going to get their own exclusive Specials to be focused on, with Marinette in Shanghai and Adrien in NY and he for sure was going to work with Pixie.
Another theory I had was where Fu was going to become Marinette's mentor, Gabriel was going to be Adrien's, cause I did like the idea that he had the Peafowl, not Emilie. And I thought this concept art of Duusu was her being furious with Gabriel literally shutting her away.
Tumblr media
And something was going to go down and this "Paon" was going to steal the Peafowl from Gabriel.
Or she already did and what Gabriel had was a fake.
And potentially that HM was who Gabriel and Emilie feared and that's why Adrien wasn't allowed out.
Those really were the days. The theories were so fun. And much of it I think was more interesting than what we got.
And it was a time of aus. I don't know how many aus are being done for ML these days, I think most are salt fics now, but that was the time to have fun, do different spins. Doing kwami swaps. Life swaps. Cowboy au.
You could get creative with akumas, like, I remember finding old fics that swapped Marientte with Bridgette and trapped her in a different reality/timeline, and I kinda wish the Paris Special did that. Off topic, but I feel the Paris Special should've gone full comedy and full reversal for characters. And that we actually got to see this different Paris.
Like, could you imagine Marinette and Emonette swapping places, either through akuma or Bunnyx, and Marinette's scrambling trying to figure out how to get back and how to keep going in this topsy turvy world where apparently Ladybug is a villain? "Hawk Moth" is a good guy? Wtf is Chat wearing? Wtf happened to Adrien.
And you got Emonette just needing shades cause this world is so bright and sunny and why do these people keep talking to her? Tf happened to Adrien, was he a poser this whole time? HM's a villain? But of course he's a bad villain just like he's a bad hero. And ooooh she's going to have so much fun with Chloe... and who tf is this Lila and what does she think she's doing picking a fight with Emonette. Oh, she's adding her to her list...
And you could add to it if kwamis were also kinda reversed.
Emonette stuck with canon Tikki trying to get her Marinette back, but also trying to rein in Emonette, try to be that voice of reason and her consciousness, and oh, she's dumping all of Chloe's things down the toilet... she's got her work cut out for her.
Meanwhile Special Tikki is more "pure luck" and is more chaotic and sporadic, she's not outright malicious, but she's just rolling with that neutralness of luck, it having good and bad and it comes down to karma and your own actions. She's just here to sit and watch the consequences play out. Emonette was kinda funny though she was predictable in her karma as her negative actions fed negative consequences. But man, this Marinette is freaking hilarious. Tikki is constantly eating popcorn, enjoying the show cause she never knows what she's going to get with this well meaning if all over the place Marinette.

Along with the official airing of season 5 in France, TFOU released a version of Evolution commented by the writing team. Here's a little summary of what they said, since I know not everyone can speak French or has access to it! Obligatory disclaimer, this is my own interpretation and translation of what they said so take everything with a grain of salt!
Warning: spoilers for Evolution, one small spoiler for Multiplication and Destruction, minor vague spoilers for season 5.
Tumblr media
The writing team with, from left to right: Sébastien Thibaudeau, Mélanie Duval, Frédéric.que Engel Lenoir and Thomas Astruc.
Firstly, as we can all notice the episode starts right where the season 4 finale left us. However, there is a slight change in the dialogue: Monarch's name only appears in the dialogue of Evolution so that Gabriel's villain name from season 5 wouldn't be spoiled in Strike back.
The scene is a parallel with the episode Origins from season one, where the exact same thing happened (Hawkmoth speaking via a big replica of his face made out of butterflies, our heroes telling him off and destroying the flying head), but by day.
This season has a different way of showing the episode name but also a very different naming system: they thought having the episodes named after the villain was a bit too spoilery at times so they decided to change that. The need to change the naming system was also reinforced by the fact that in this season, the story will progress way faster than before.
The rest is under the cut because it's a bit long!!
The season 4 finale and the first three episodes of season 5 all follow each other like if they were one big movie. Evolution, Multiplication and Destruction all start at the same time and last a second (at one point, they thought "in a moment of madness" about doing this for every episode of season 5 and thus to have it all happen in the span of one day but then decided against it). However, even with that they still didn't talk about everything that happens in that first second and so they will come back to it later at one point in the season.
They talked about the need to resolve the issue of the rabbit miraculous in the first episode: Fred joked about how fans would tell the writing team that they didn't think about the fact Hawkmoth was now too powerful and could just travel through time to solve everything.
It was a fantasy of Sebastien to have an episode where they'd go back to previous moments in the show. They naively thought it was a good idea because it'd be cheaper but they actually had to pretty much reanimate every scene. Plus having all the kwamis didn't help the animation team (although they'd make a good plushie collection!).
They talked about how in the episode, you can see Nathalie, who was previously always here for Gabriel and ready to help him, is now getting worried.
They talked about how much they love Bunnyx and Sebastien said he'd love to make a separate series about her. In the past, they've had warnings about her being too powerful and eventually "eating Ladybug". However, Fred said that was still left to prove and that the character was awesome anyway.
Thomas said they'd also been told to be careful about time travel since it can easily become too complicated, which is why they decided to make it simpler with a "cartoon course poursuite (a chase)" à la Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote, with the difference that the characters chase each other in time, and not in space.
They talked multiple times about one of the recurrent themes in the show, which is the distribution of power, and what having too much power does to you. Before this episode, it was mostly metaphoric but it's a bit more literal in this one. Indeed, you see Monarch struggling to manage all the miraculous at the same time. The first time he fusions a lot of them, he even gets caught by Ladybug's yoyo (Fred says "the first thing monarch gets for having so much power is almost losing"). They say they played a lot on that to show that accumulating powers isn't the solution.
Another way they did that was by showing Gabriel acting in a dictatorial way and not feeding the kwamis, which led to him reaching his limits.
Gabriel transforms a lot of different ways during the episode, so they had to find a way to show it with his costume without having him change completely each time, since it would've required a lot (9?) of 3D models that would have only been used once. Instead, Thomas designed the butterfly breastplate where each colour represents the power of one miraculous.
A fun fact they shared is that for each one of Gabriel's transformations, the writing team gave him a different name in the script, it was hard since they ended up with very long fusion names, and there's a hint to that in the dialogue of the episode when Chat Noir (Lapin Noir) makes fun of Monarch by calling him "Papi-lapin-tortue-abeille et je sais pas quoi d'autre".
During the scene which happens in a flashback to The Buubler (the one where they're falling down next to the Eiffel Tower) they mention that it is one of their favourite episodes.
They paused during the DJWifi kiss scene from Animan to talk about it more: they said that people wonder what happened in that cage and that Thomas has had the exact scene in his head for years. They'd like to fully animate and show it one day (Sebastien said it was their "ultimate life goal").
Some scenes happen at the same time and appear twice during the episode but filmed from different angles. Because of that they did a little shout out to the directing team: Winny, Cyril and Nicolas who made their ideas come to life. They mention them again later in the scene where Monarch is left alone in the S2 finale and laughs alone: the camera turns around him to show how he's lost his mind.
During the scene that happens during World War 2 and is a comeback to a flashback from a previous episode, they mentioned that Marianne was inspired by Fred's grandma who was a member of the french Resistance. Like a lot of women, she never got a medal, and they said that now, 70 years later she got a miraculous.
They said that Gabriel was technically not completely Monarch yet, but no spoilers!
They looked for episodes where they could show stuff that happened off camera without altering them, like the taxi ride from Reverser (which they called "épisode chouchou", aka their beloved episode).
They said that the scene with master Fu was a way to bring him back and that they cried a lot (literally) while writing the season 3 finale because they didn't want to let go of him. They said it was nice to bring him back along with the original miracle box to go back to simpler times where Ladybug hadn't yet lost everything. Plus during their exchange Ladybug says some key phrases that Fu will repeat later in time and allow him to trust her with something so important.
During the scene in the Louvre museum, they talked about how you can tell Alix's dad already knew what would happen because of the information he got from the future. They said the scene is very emotional because Alix is only 14 and has to leave all of her friends in order to save them and sacrifice her link with her present in order to travel through time. They called Alix exceptional because of her sense of sacrifice and Sebastien jokes about how it's nice the sound isn't too loud because he would otherwise be crying. They also said that for a while people were wondering how Alix got the miraculous and they had to find an unexpected way to show it. Even Alix herself is a bit confused because she leaves as Cannigirl and not as Bunnyx.
This scene also links back to the tone they try to have for the show, which is both fun and funny, but with a tragic side. In Evolution, the amount of time travel can make it a bit confusing but they say that what's important is that the viewer feels the emotion.
They then joked about the scene where Nathalie feeds the kwamis ("the plushies") which they find hilarious and about the fact that the lucky charm (here the tiny miracle box from the season 2 finale) seems obvious but they actually struggled a lot to find it. Sebastien says they spent 4 hours on that one.
They talked about the importance of Gabriel's choice in the burrow, which shows when he turns to madness and chooses his obsession with fighting Ladybug over actually saving Emily by giving her the USB key. It is once more a demonstration of how he is corrupted by power. They also joked about how if he had made the right logical choice they wouldn't have a show to write.
In the Gabemily flashback, you can see Gabriel giving Emily the peacock miraculous and leaving with her in what Thomas calls a "typical bridal carry". Sebastien jokingly tells him he'd like to know what they're going to do with the peacock miraculous (they stay very vague and neutral but to me it screamed sentiadrien 👀👀).
The team then talks a lot about season 4: during it, Ladybug also had too much power and responsibilities which made her leave Chat Noir to the side by distributing miraculouses to other people. He felt lost and left behind, like he became just one of her teammates instead of staying his only partner who she had a privileged relationship with, even though she didn't think that way and didn't realise it. In the season 4 finale, Ladybug realises that she's made a lot of mistakes. Despite that, the fact that Chat Noir stayed by her side made her see him in a new light and she sees his qualities and his loyalty. The writing team repeated a lot of times that Ladybug seeing Chat Noir in a new light will not be without consequences 👀👀. They said that Marinette was "internally boiling" when it comes to her feelings because on top of that, she realised that being in love with Adrien made her do a big mistake (when she confused him with Felix). With how much they talked, Melanie joked about how they should also do commentaries about season 4 (and now I want that too lmao).
They also mentioned that they rewrote the final scene from Strike Back multiple times, including after starting to write season 5. (They called that scene the "chevalier noir" or "dark knight" because it was the comeback of Chat Noir and his privileged relationship with Ladybug.)
They said that miraculous was not only about superpowers but also about superpowers of the heart. When Melanie says Evolution might not seem particularly about feelings, the others mentioned that "ever second of the episode" will in fact have big impacts on the future.
They added that they looked a lot for the proper tragic tone for the end of the episode. The scene is in mirror with the previous one: Ladybug and Chat Noir are getting closer than ever, meanwhile Gabriel and Nathalie are separating. Thomas kept saying she was "ruining him" because he sealed her fate (since she would've never used the broken peacock miraculous which made her sick if Gabriel had given his past self the USB key).
At the end, Lila witnessed the situation and the writing team says she's learned a very important piece of information that will be relevant for her rest of the season 👀👀.
At the very end of the episode, they laugh a bit when Gabriel screams "Ladybug!!!!!" with all the rage in the world, which is my cue to add in my french dub propaganda because the voice acting in this episode is insane, especially at the beginning and during the fight between Gabriel and Nathalie.
Lastly, Sebastien mentions that this episode doesn't have a "post posterpaint scene" but that there will be some in the following episode to end them on little cliffhangers and change the style of this season a bit (just like they did with the episode names).

Correct me if I’m wrong but doesn’t future Alix yell at Cat Noir for losing a miraculous in the future? Am I misremembering things? Like lol Ladybug lost all the miraculous but I guess that doesn’t matter
Well, you see, it's different because while Cat Noir just lost one Miraculous, Ladybug lost all the other Miraculous to Monarch and--okay, yeah, it makes no goddamn sense.

I just wonder what if There was a Gallette so good the Tikkis consider it the best in the multiverse?
(This is in reference to this)
That's a great question!
and potentially terrifying!!
Now in my mind there's a couple ways this could go
a) Tikki doesn't dare to compare the Gallettes, because that would be Like picking a favorite child (if you ate children I guess) so she let's each gallette stand on its own
b) All Tikkis share each other's experiences anyway so it doesn't matter to them which one of them personally ate it. Individual Tikkis might be upset that no one in their own reality was talented enough to make a Gallette as good as the perfect one
c) the other Tikkis are jealous of the perfect Gallette that one of them consumed and so they rip open the fabric of the multiverse, swarming into the Gallette reality like locusts. The PGU (perfect Gallatte universe) would not last long, inevitably Bunnyx would be forced to travel back in time and salt the Gallette in order to prevent the total collapse of the multiverse in it's entirety.

on the one hand, in mari's defense as far as she knows it's only that specific circumstance (chat blanc) that destroys the world and she doesn't remember ephemeral. on the other hand, yeah maybe constantly pursuing adrien despite seeing a bad future where the world ends because of your romance ain't a good idea.
on a semi-related tangent for whatever reason i've been seeing a number of salt writers try to write bunnyx as someone who'd try to force marinette and adrien into a toxic relationship even though seeing all these bad futures would probably make her the LAST person to want these two together.
Bunnyx is too aro for this stop doing her like that
