uhhhhh... this is an actual headline: 'Why are Taylor Swift fans so incredibly mad at Burger King?'

sigh it’s because a fan tweeted the burger king account asking what their fav taylor song is and they replied “the one about her ex”

admittedly it’s a sexist reply and they shouldn’t have said it but then swifties got #burgerkingisoverparty trending on twitter and it’s like hello did we not just cry about taylor seeing that hashtag about herself? no she didn’t say or do something sexist but it was one tweet and i’m sure the person quickly learned they shouldn’t have said it. 

i’m a big supporter of the idea that humans are complex and can feel more than one emotion at once, so i dont want to do a blanket “why aren’t they more mad about x or y” because i understand being upset about multiple things at once, but it does really bother me that so many swifties spent a large part of their days hate-tweeting at a fast food account rather than sending that energy out in support of george floyd. i hope many of them care about this too but ugh. yeah. i avoided twitter today.
