Hands up if you were the child that read thousands of books and as an adult you hit burn out and now only read stories about the same 2 idiots falling in love over and over as you don't have the brain power to get emotionally attached to new characters.

Gentle Reminders:
Do not feel embarrassed for relying on safe foods (you are not 'picky' or 'demanding')
Do not feel ashamed for stimming in public (you are more than allowed to regulate yourself)
Do not feel guilty for saying 'no' (burn out is real even though this capitalist society glamorises it)
Do not neglect your special interests because other people think they're strange/obsessive (people judging you for experiencing joy are the actual problem here)
Do not feel guilty for asking for accommodations (the world is not one-size-fits-all and you deserve access)

Just a little longer, just a little further... Then, you can rest, I promise.

This week felt never-ending, but I’m glad you made it through. I’m glad you did. Maybe things didn’t go as planned, but you still made it. I hope that you can allow yourself to rest this weekend, even if you you feel like you didn’t do your best. You don’t have to earn rest by pushing yourself to breaking point every single day. It’s okay if you’re so tired you don’t want to go out this weekend, if you really need a break, please take, please rest as much as you, take things slow and be gentle with yourself when you’re running low on energy. You don’t have to burn yourself out to prove that you need to rest. It’s okay to just be tired and to want some peace of mind, and I hope you can find a little of it this weekend.

Welcome to samdalri and Doctor slump are very very special because both represent the genre of people who basically sacrificed their youth trying to achieve the next big thing and then they DID smash every milestone they ever set for themselves but instead of being able to ride that high, all that effort, all the running, the one track pathway only lead to burnout and exhaustion and the idea that all good things only come to those who wait is fucking absurd because you have to, have to find the good in everything, everyday and every single experience life gives you.
It’s perfectly okay to have big dreams but there is nothing in this world that will ever be worth a damn if you don’t take care of yourself along the way and sometimes, sometimes, when you’re going too fast and you know you’re headed for a crash, it’s better to slow down and reassess your priorities because if you, your happiness and your mental and physical health aren’t at the tippy top of that list of priorities then you have no business driving that fast. The steeper the climb, the harder the fall; and you can only stand at the top of the Everest if you don’t die in the process

A very quick comic about how I've been feeling recently!
Trying to give myself the same grace that other people are kind enough to give me, even when I'm feeling burnt out

Prompt #3483
“I think I’m losing myself. All my hobbies are gone, and so is the day job. I haven’t seen my friends in months, my family in longer. Being a hero, the hero, is so all-encompassing. All-consuming. It’s eating everything about me and I don’t know how to make it stop. If this goes on much longer, I’m worried I’m going to forget my real name.”

You haven’t failed if you haven’t accomplished as much as you wanted to by now. There’s so much more time, and you are so much more than what you can do.
