Amphibiuary Day 2: Wizard
This Bushveld Rain Frog wants to cast a spell on you... To impress you because she wants to be your friend but she's shy 🥺
This image might look a bit fuzzy because it was incredibly hard to photograph for some reason - the closer i got to it (either physically or by zooming in) the more the camera would 'correct' the lighting and make it super dark, so I had to take this from a distance and then crop the image. I need to invest in a decent scanner...

today’s funky frog of the day is: breviceps adspersus! commonly known as the bushveld rain frog, common rain frog, or blaasop rain frog, they are found in angola, botswana, mozambique, south africa, and zimbabwe. their natural habitats include savanna, shrubland, grassland, pastureland, and urban areas. they spend most of the year underground, hibernating during winter and estivating during the dry season. they are able to make mucuous cocoons over their bodies, and they primarily feed on termites. during mating season, the females lay eggs that will hatch into small froglets, as they do not go through a tadpole stage. since there have been cases of them living anywhere from 4 to 15 years, it’s hard to pinpoint the exact lifespan of these frogs.

Amphibiuary Day 28: Re-Do
A return to the wizard from Day 2, she is finally showing off her magic to an adoring audience!
I can't believe Amphibiuary is over, it was so fun to do, even if the latter half of February ended up being very busy/stressful. It was nice to post herps and just see more herps on my dash in general! Thank you to everyone who left me lovely tags/replies about my art, it's really cheered me up and motivated me through the rough patches this month to see so many people enjoying what I create <3
