“you’re creeping me out.”

“creeping you out how?”

you look at him with a scowl. unsure if he’s doing this on purpose to spite you or if he’s really just as clueless as the face he’s pretending to make. it’s the third time he’s done something like this today. it was six times yesterday, and five times the day before— he kept doing something nice for you. you made sure to keep count of it as it’s not every day that he’ll volunteer to do the laundry, vacuum the house, or go full length and prepare a whole massage treatment at home for you, with him being the masseuse of course. the weirdest thing he’d done today which pushed you to ask that question again is when he insisted to do your paperwork for you because quote-unquote, “you might overwork yourself.” yeah, you'd keep tabs on them, too.

you don’t doubt him being kind, but in your 3 years of relationship, this sure is the first time he’s put so, so much, unusual than the usual amount, of effort in treating you like you’re a queen.

with curious eyes still watching his focused figure, you asked, “why are you acting like this? did you do something bad? are you dying?”

he paused from what he was doing and looked at you for a short moment, before standing up to go to the bathroom.

confusion still hasn’t left your gaze as you followed him in there, and stopped, when he faced you with a grin that you’re not so sure if playful or pure smug. that was also when you noticed the thing he was holding.

“oh no. I am so not pregnant.” a deadpan statement. bewildered by the audacity.

“oh, sweetheart, of course, you are.” he assertively put the stick in your hand and gave you a nudge, which you think is for motivational purposes. “come on, try.”

“did my uterus migrate onto you or something to make you that certain, that I am, indeed, carrying a child?” you asked while pushing him out of the bathroom and closing the door.

“my child.” he giggles. “our child.”

you started to undo your pants when he followed with the usual dramatic sigh, “my sweet honey, you never fail to make me appalled by how you still find the audacity to question my ability and intelligence on these kinds of things.”

you remained quiet doing the business. silence reigned as you both were waiting for the result. just as you were feeling the saying “it feels like forever” with how long it was seemingly taking, he spoke again.

“five minute’s up. it should be done by now.”

you rolled your eyes at the tall know-it-all outside your bathroom door.

with the silent dropping of your jaw, you hastily opened the door and stared him straightly in the eye. your face modeled the emotions of surprise, shock, and amazement, while he let out a loud chuckle and shook his head.

“how the hell did you know?”

with eyes sparkling and lips beaming with smug and glee, crossed arms, he leaned against the door frame. “aside from the fact that I’m undoubtedly absolutely smart, if it’s you, of course, I’ll know.”

I’ve been following ur Golden Brother fic for about… half the time it’s been up? I was already baffled by how u posted such long chapters of such GOOD SHIT, but recently I was like “oh yeah better check out their Tumblr!!” and… Who did you sell your soul to write that much, often post multiple drawings a day, AND have a webcomic (I still need to read it tbh) going??? LMAO

Whenever I open a new chapter and remember how long they tend to be, I go insane (affectionate, in awe, thankful).

About the fic tho,,, your writing is so good. I came for the arc between Hunter and Vee (which I ADORE btw), but everyone’s characterization is just top tier imo. You even think through canonical strengths so well that you find new ways to turn them into FLAWS and I like it a very not normal amount.

Like… Luz genuinely fucking up a bit? Without being tricked like she was with Philip? You created such neat depth around her coping mechanism of distracting herself by helping others heheheee!!

Willow and how she got so set on being “the reliable one” that others find it hard to open up to her since the vulnerability feels one-sided is really interesting cuz it makes sense! It’s counterproductive, but I can see why she does it.

“The true mom-friend was Gus” is BASED, I’m absolutely here for it!!! He’s one of my favs, so I sometimes think he’s overlooked as far as character depth, but I love how you write himmm!!

Salty Vee fuels me. After being so mistreated for most of her life, she deserves to be a lil angry. As a treat. Directing it at Hunter may have been misplaced, but it’s understandable enough that Hunter himself recognized what she needed and encouraged her do her thing (when he does it out of guilt, I wanna hit him upside the head with therapy, but it’s still nice of him). And then her sudden, genuine “I forgive you” makes me wanna SOB, it’s so gooodddd!!

Even Jacob is super neat???? I never thought of Masha being like family sorta with him (and ngl I was actually :/ about the idea for a hot sec) but you worked it SO WELL!! I’m interested in his arc now lmaoooo

Yo it’s your local late night 6.5/10 PJOTV reviewer here to offer yet another perspective, especially after the new episode.

I think the core of the issue is that this show has two major MAJOR differences from the book, those being tone and pacing. The latter has been discussed a lot, and all i really have to add to that cesspool is that it is in fact very different and faster, leading to tighter story beats and less character development, which is the only thing i truly hate.

The tone thing hasn’t been talked about nearly as much as it should be, but i think it IS affected a ton of people’s perception of the show. The witty, dry humor of the first book that defined Percy and Annabeth as kids is kind of lacking a little? This is probably the fault of Rick attempting to write for TV and kinda struggling with humor. This makes the TV characters slightly different from the books, with Annabeth being more serious and less sarcastic, while Percy is just snarky sometimes instead of being an absolute little bitch. (This is also a lot because of the lack of narration BY Percy, where he can be a lot more humorous)

Without spoiling much, the newest episode fixes some of the issues with story and pacing elements, but still lacks in some development in terms of the subtext of the story, if that makes sense. The best part is that it reworks and redoes certain parts of the story in a way that just WORKS for TV and this specific cast.

Honestly, the only character that has 100% benefited from the change in focus with character development is Grover. The fact that the show just generally cares less about these characters somehow makes grover less of an anxious, shy companion and more of a fun, wholesome dude which i love SO MUCH!

About LMM as Hermes, i’m totally for it. LMM has pretty decent acting jobs, and the tired look he always has totally works with Hermes being canonically overworked as hell.

Another thing i do love that some people don’t is the Gabe changes. IDK how much you know, but the changing of Gabe is an unforeseen and interesting change. However, i like it because it makes Gabe a more dynamic character, and makes it possible to change who is in a negative light, rather than making him go from “abusive bitch” to “physically abusive bitch”. This all comes from someone intimately family with parental abuse and someone who loves reading fics that discuss Gabe AS a horrible abuser. Like, one of my fav PJO fics (that i did suggest to you) is an entire therapy fic about Percy dealing with that abuse and the scars of trauma. I know what i want from Gabe’s character is all i’m saying.

Finally, one last topic i wanna rant about on the internet is fucking LA Luke. They had absolutely no right to make this dude the most lovable bitch at camp. Hell, even the most anti-live action ppl out there can admit Luke got a lot more sympathetic in the show. Anyone can see they really cared about that aspect of the character. (not the weak-ass attempt at a scar tho lmao)

This entire rant and all of my (and everyone’s really) feelings can change drastically as soon as the next episode drops though, so take everything ANYONE says with a tablespoon of salt and a pile of blue food.

from what you've said, i think the gabe changes still bother me, but i'm all for a more likeable luke. that'll make the betrayal that much more painful. honestly, i've been toying lately with the idea of a later betrayal on luke's end, rather than at the end of book 1. i feel like we don't fully get to see how much percy trusts him and likes him in the limited time we get with them in the lightning thief. one day, maybe, i'll write a fic that really gives luke and percy the Bonding Time i think they deserve before the rug's pulled out from underneath percy's feet.

i wonder how your 6.5/10 rating will change by the end of the final ep!

Warnings: matt being worried, talks of fisk, you being worried, lots and lots of worry

Author’s Note: this is a one off im just really really excited/nervous for matt to be back and wrote myself a comfort fic lmao (for future, this was written BEFORE he makes an appearance in she hulk so things will be incorrect lol)

Summary: Matt tells you about She-Hulk and you start to worry that he’s going all commercial.

Sometimes Hell’s Kitchen felt like a very large place. From one end to the other it wasn’t actually that big. You were pretty sure anyway, you had never actually asked anyone. The only person you would ask is Matt and though he couldn’t see it you knew he would know the answer to a relative degree of certainty.

When you walked to your work from Matt’s office, it was about a 20 minute walk.

Matt thought that was a very long walk.

You insisted it actually wasn’t that bad at all. You were often in busy streets with plenty of people. You did the walk in the daylight. You had your taser, that Matt had graciously gifted you, on you at all times.

You argued that the walk from your shared apartment was even further but he was having none of it.

“Don’t try and slip out of here!” Matt called from inside the confinements of his and Foggy’s small office. You had grabbed your purse and started to leave. He must know the time and also managed to hear you grabbing your things. Typical.

“Matt,” you said gently, putting your hand on the door frame between rooms. “I have to go to work. It happens five days a week. It’s a schedule that people with actual jobs have.”

“I have an actual job,” he said, clicking his pen and then gently sitting it down. He wasn’t angry or annoyed. He was facing you, eyebrows raised a bit. “Why won’t you let me walk you?” he questioned.

“Because it would be a 40 minute break for you and a whole long walk you absolutely don’t need to do.”

“I could use the workout.”

“Uh huh Matt. Sure.” You rolled your eyes and started to back out and he moved his seat back like he was going to get out of it. You could have sprinted out the door and down the stairs and he still would’ve beat you.

Truth be told, you liked how much he worried about you. Though you thought it was overbearing sometimes, you couldn't exactly blame him. With his line of work, he had plenty of casualties. Both lines.

“Use a sick day,” he said. He was standing now, hands in his jacket pockets.

“Matty,” you muttered. It was just the two of you in the office right now. Foggy was off getting lunch for him and Matt. Karen was back at the newspaper for the moment. You were technically doing secretary jobs on top of your actual job. You didn’t mind that much. You liked to help and you loved the office. “I’m not sick.”

“I could use your help here.”

“You have Foggy for help.”

“Yeah but I could use four working eyes,” he said. You huffed and crossed your arms.

“I only have so much leave you know.”

“You overwork yourself.” You crossed your arms and leaned your side against the doorframe again.

“You wanna tell me the real reason I’m not allowed to go outside right now?”

He faced the desk again, clearing his throat. You waited patiently.

“Fisk is back in the streets. Or, his men are. I need a handle on that before you go out and do things by yourself.” It had been the thing stressing him out beyond belief since everyone came back from the blip. Fisk had overtaken the streets again. Nothing to fear when the man without fear wasn’t around anymore.

You squinted.

“That’s not it. Stop lying.” Matt smirked a bit, lips twitching. He’d always been proud of the way you could read him. You were the best at it.

“I ran into She-Hulk.”

You opened your mouth a bit in surprise. You closed it but just as quickly opened it.

“I assume you didn’t run into Jennifer Walters in her office.” He smiled gently.

“No.”

“Good. Great. Now you’re having run-ins with public superheroes. What’s next? Matt Murdock’s gonna defend Wong in court? Daredevil gonna team up with Hawkeye’s new prodigy?”

“This isn’t a bad thing.”

You took a step forward. The step was fueled by the innate need you had to protect him. If no one else was going to do it, you were. You made it your (third) job. At the end of the night, Matt Murdock needed to come home to a safe bed with someone he trusted.

“Daredevil is a masked superhero for a reason. He isn’t an avenger, he isn’t a Asgardian, he isn’t part of the galaxy fuck ups. She-Hulk could be a stepping stone to something too big.”

“You aren’t Daredevil,” he reminded you.

“No, I’m Daredevil’s keeper,” you told him. You took another step towards him so you could touch him. You were late for work. It didn’t feel like you were going in today. You held his hand gingerly. “I don’t want them to ruin you. I won’t stand to watch Daredevil have his own cereal or do press junkets.” He intertwined your fingers slowly.

“That’s not why I brought her up.”

“There’s more?”

“She’s been having issues with a lot of interesting threats. Public threats. It’s too dangerous out there right now,” he said deeply. “There are a whole host of people that could kill you without thinking. I won't have that.”

“What do you suggest I do then?”

“Let me walk you.”

“And if they try and kill you?”

“They won’t win the fight,” he promised, squeezing your hand. “As for your other concerns,” he started, “I won’t do any cereal sponsoring. Unless it’s Cheerios. I do really like Cheerios.”

“Oh my God you would bend your will to Cheerios? Not like, Lucky Charms or something?”

“Too sugary.”

“Jesus Matt.” You both laughed gently.

“I imagine Matt Murdock is going to run into Jennifer Walters one day but Daredevil is safe right now having a strict working relationship with her.”

“I wasn’t worried about that,” you promised. “I’m worried that you’re gonna become commercial. Is that selfish?”

“No.” He said it so simply that you didn’t feel bad for it. “I’ll stay small town. I think the aliens are a little too much for me.” You smiled at that. He was good at making you feel better.

“You promise me?”

“I promise you.”

You nodded, satisfied. He brought you to his chest and you wrapped your arms around him happily. You pressed your cheek against him and breathed deeply.

“You staying?”

“Yes I’m staying. Just today!” He smiled brightly, dipping his face down to kiss you pleasantly. You giggled against the kiss and let him go. “I’m not making a habit of it alright?”

“I hear you, I hear you.”

The front door opened. Foggy shut it behind him.

“I sure hope there’s only one person in here and not someone who has been wrongly peer pressured to stay!” he called.

“Hi Foggy,” you said sheepishly.

“Dammit. You know you’re a distraction. He can’t even see you but he stares at you.” He put down lunch. “Lucky for you, I knew this was gonna happen. So I got lunch for three.” You scoffed, smiling brightly. “You tell her about Hulk Girl?”

“She-Hulk,” Matt corrected.

“Thank you Foggy Nelson. I should’ve dated you,” you said, opening up the bags. “And yes he did.”

“You should have. I’m a lot more fun and also I have way less people trying to kill me on the regular.” “I don’t know, some bartenders try on the regular,” Matt argued.

“What did you think about his whole thing?” Foggy asked, ignoring Matt.

“I don’t like it. She’s not like Jessica or Luke. They’re town folk, She-Hulk…she’s city. All city.”

“We live in the city,” Matt said.

“You know what I mean,” you said. “Matt promised he wouldn’t go all Avengers on us though.”

Matt opened up the bags, feeling around for the boxes and bringing them out.

“Well when he promises you we know he means it. When he promises me he’s bound to go and do it.”

“I went to the bar once in college without you-” Matt started.

“We cannot hash up old arguments you know you’ll never win Matt.” You giggled, opening up the boxes. “You gonna do paperwork for us today?” Foggy asked, nudging you.

“I really should be formally employed here. I think I’m pulling my weight,” you argued.

“Not a bad idea. Would eliminate that 20 minute walk,” Matt pointed out. You rolled your eyes.

“I should have a partner at this law firm interview me.” Foggy had eaten a whole bite of noodles.

“Role play opportunity,” he said through chewing, pointing his fork at you and Matt. You both laughed. Matt sat back down as you slid him one of the waters. You sat beside him. He put a hand on your thigh. Sometimes he sacrificed his hand, causing him to just eat with one, solely because he wanted to touch you. Know you were there. If he couldn’t see you, he could at least have that.

“For the record,” he started, “I would never go commercial. It isn’t in my blood to have cereal boxes with me on it,” he promised, squeezing his hand on your thigh.

“Unless it’s Lucky Charms,” Foggy said while chewing.

“That’s what I said! See Matt!”

“I won’t be doing Lucky Charms just to spite the two of you now.”

another long obnoxious stream of my thoughts while watching greys anatomy for the first time (season 13 bc nobody has stopped me!!)

-oh my god meredith please just tell her you slept with riggs

-yeah DUH amelia you should have gotten to know each other better before you got married

-can i just say that i will never ever base my preconceptions of a show off tiktok again lol. before i watched this show i fully expected to hate maggie and april. i’m nervous bc i’ve also seen people who haven’t watched pp say they hated amelia but so far i don’t see why.

-i’m confused?? amelia has definitely mentioned her anencephalic baby to owen before. maybe she hasn’t laid out the whole story but she definitely mentioned him some time after derek died.

-oooh murphy is back

-bailey is not stupid so why is she acting stupid??? of course this prison has scarce medical resources and the doctors are overworked. what planet do you live on?

-trying to cut dr eliza some slack bc she’s just doing her job, but she could probably do it a way that’s less irritating

-imo alex deserves to be punished. way too many main characters get off too easy when they make fucked up choices. but i selfishly don’t want him to go to prison lol

-bailey is starting to seriously piss me off. i’m not saying all the attendings are in the right for the way they’re acting but what did she think would happen if she brought in some abrasive stranger to take a sledgehammer to their program and undermine the authority of a bunch of tight knit surgeons who are often times like a group of talented toddlers with scalpels

-they should have done a chemistry read with jessica capshaw before they cast minnick lmao. the flirting is so bad and the “sexual tension” thing they’re trying to is almost laughable.

-why on earth WOULDN’T you want an actual peds surgeon to supervise a child’s surgery? whatever phase two of your teaching program whatever…. but what the fuck?

okay so

I don’t know if this is bc I’m overly emotional bc I’m so overworked and exhausted and can’t catch a break irl (like literally cannot catch a fucking break in the sense that even on my days off I have to go do some shit or the other for someone else).

But anyways, coming on here has started to increasingly be not that fun. I just feel like every ask I get, almost every time anyone communicates with me on here, it’s literally just “when will you update this” and “can we have a fic about this” even when it’s complimenting one of my existing fics, it’s always “omg I loved x, could I please have a fic where etc etc” and often there isn’t even a “please” attached like… it’s gotten so much lately… like i just feel like a robot churning out content.. to the point where if i don’t put out at least a drabble or smth… that people are gonna unfollow me or lose interest

like i get it’s just tumblr and it’s not meant to be that deep but i audibly sigh every time i open my askbox and it’s a message like “omg i loved your fic, could i get another fic about etc” like?? okay so you didn’t reblog my fic or give me any comment on it but you wanna ask for another one? when i JUST posted something??? like idek man, i’m so grateful for my followers and readers and most of you are so amazing and way too good to me but… you know… like i’ll ask “omg how is everybody” and i’ll get responses like “just waiting for you to update x” and ???? okay???? i get y’all followed me for my writing but come on…

okay remember when i said i wanted Ukai to bend me over the counter ?? (maybe you don’t — it wasn’t a proper post lmao) well, i had an extremely specific idea in mind, but didn't wanna clog my own tags, so i'm gonna ramble about that here 😇 (edit: i wrote a full fic)

This is definitely my Aladarius obsession kicking in but imagine like they’re going to Hexside & Darius is Raine’s CG & Alador is like “idk what’s happening but yay for healthy coping mechanisms” AT FIRST but then a regressed Raine feeling like the little mischievous brat they are decide to call Alador & Darius “dada” & “papa”

Just wanna say happy new year. Showing off pieces I really liked or some wips I have and ongoing plus comms I was really proud of.

Im looking forward to the new year and hoping it’ll be better for everyone. It’s the time for change and new goals to set in. One being for me is to take more time for myself and tackle my own personal needs to talk more about my headworlds and do more art for them. So less comms.

Get in shape being another. It’s a normal goal for everyone. I just wanna be fit and able to lift things without worrying about my limbs screaming and falling off. Also my back too. Don’t care about model bodies. I’m a fat thin. Never going to be thin and I’m not fat. I’m just a fat thin and average. I’m fine. Lmao.

Read more and take more time for myself and spoil/interact with friends more too. I feel like overworking myself over the years has definitely weakened my social energy by quite a lot. I need to step out a bit more without tossing myself too hard into masses. One step at a time. Im borderline hermit. Coffee doesn’t help me like people after waking up. It wakes me up enough to not feel bad about getting annoyed with people. FYI it’s really towards dumb people I can’t stand.

k so long time so see ig lmao . basically i’m tryna recover…but my issue is that school starts up again next month . man idk how imma NOT relapse when first sem starts . even now i’m havin a hard time jus thinkin ab it . i’ve been doin SO GOOD too . like, tryna eat more, eatin when i’m hungry, tryna gain w8 . but i’ve had a lotta body thoughts still . both positive n negative . n it’s jus so rough, cuz i rlly don’t think i’ll b able to resist a relapse atp . i’m tryna get a job by the start of first sem so i can do that after school n on weekends, n i can do wtvr homework while there . for context, i’m tryna find a job as a nanny or pet sitter . ik i’m literally preparing to overwork myself rn, but it feels like i have to . the only way i’ll b successful is if i put myself into a “u gotta work now now now” mindset almost 24/7 . ik it’s a coping skill, but it’s the only thing that works for me 💀 been doin this shit since i was a kid, n it seems to b the only way i can get myself to do difficult things .
