i did have a sketch lying around, so i've cleaned it up and colored it!

in this hc zhongli would've gotten his dad's facial features, but like,, all the colors from his mom save the skin tone. also her smile. his dad is a qilin and i gave him a tail bc 1) qilin have tails 2) ganyu has no tail but she's half-human so that tells me nothing and 3) i can do what i want lmao

remember the mom was a jewelsmith so all the dangling bits and everything gold was made by her. the only reason the dad isn't absolutely decked in baubles like a christmas tree is bc he thinks it gets cumbersome at some point n the mom is like "you're no fun". he does let her use his horns as hangers for necklaces n shit while she works tho. the dad was also the one who saved baby zhongli from being a christmas tree, too.

zhongli does get his androgynous swag from both of them

I'm feminine as fuck in my household. I mother the kids, help their emotional development, work on my wife's emotional and mental well-being, and I'm the one never in the mood for sex. And I do every single thing she says. And then she does the discipline and management of the family's affairs. And she's the one who has to seduce me. Did I mention she was sexy as fuck? Personally, I feel everyone even Jane Austen herself is a tad bit mean when it comes to the character of Mrs. Bennet and should shift some on that to Mr. Bennet. Like yes she's a silly, neurotic woman but can u like blame her?

Her husband failed to do anything for their children. He stopped being involved in their education probably around Mary's childhood, did not save or plan for the future of FIVE women at all, and not only that he's so unbothered by ANYTHING at all like Mr. Collins - the heir to his estate and fortune - stops by and he doesn't even tell his family?????? until he's about to arrive?????? Not only that it's kind of cruel the way he does it like haha u guys know how yall are women so u don't inherit shit? well, the dude that can come and turn u all out on ur asses - which is mostly my fault bc i didn't do shit to make sure u all are provided for once I'm gone - is about to arrive so hehe.

Like in what other way is Mrs. Bennet supposed to behave in that era where her daughter's futures were entirely dependent on the wealth of the man they marry. And honestly, i think Mrs. Bennet was almost too kind to Mr. Bennet I'd have been very bitter knowing that even tho we tried for a son - hence all the daughters - he still did nothing to ensure their financial security. Like these girls could have ended up destitute and it'd be entirely his fault. I always saw Mrs. Bennet as a mother who was just trying to do the best she could to look out for her daughters given the circumstances.

#like don't get me wrong #i love that he loves lizzy hes funny but tbh he is overall a piss poor dad #like he did not give a shit about the wellbeing of his family until his youngest daughter was near social ruin #pride and prejudice #jane austen #and like ik a lot of the reason Mr bennet isn't an active figure in the family is bc hes unhappy in their marriage #mrs. bennet did not turn out to be the partner he wanted for a wife mother #but their relationship shouldn't affect his involvement with his children #like i feel like their marriage was painted as poor Mr bennet married a silly woman and that made him unhappy #but i also feel that mrs. bennet didn't exactly luck out for a partner as well #i'd have a lot of resentment if i realized that bc my husband is unhappy with me he checks out of being a parent to the kids WE createdi #idk i have a lot of thoughts on their relationship
