The thing about testosterone being a controlled substance means that acess to it for hrt is restricted. While it makes access a significant issue for many people and an easy and effective way to prevent trans men and mascs from transitioning (as we've seen terfs campaign for and succeed at doing in Britain) it also means that is very easy for health care professionals to be able to take it away from trans men/mascs arbitrarily. This is most aborant in cases where trans men/mascs are forced to detransition to gain access to abortions after being raped. However, the first sign of an issues tangentially related to hormones a gp, without any training in trans people or hormones, can and will stop a person's testosterone. Apart from how stressful it is to know that for the rest of your life you'll be dependent on the goodwill of a random person, this has measurable negative consequences for a trans person subjected too it.

Going off t fucking sucks at the best of time, but being forced off t will most likely result in depression and worsening mental health for a trans man/masc, who are already one of the most likely groups to attempt suicide. It can also put a trans person at risk if they suddenly start being visibly trans again, especially if they're closeted in, say, a work place environment. Trans people, including trans men, are already one of the most targeted groups of harassment and violence and sexual assalt and forcibly reducing or stopping t can out people and risk their safety. And a gp won't see this or care about this, or attempt to treat a trans man/masc first or ask for their opinion or situation.

Ultimately, testosterone is seen as entirely optional and so the first resort when something goes wrong it to take it away, when it should be considered the last resort, and is considered the last resort for cis men. And as long as testosterone continues to be a controlled substance it will remain like this.

(edit for clarification: I am a kiwi, this post was intended as a general critique of accessing t through health care systems - based in my lived experience in NZ and what ive heard from international trans ppl; including but not limited to the USA)

Was just thinking about the amount of animals Obi-Wan interacts with compared to literally everyone else and in the Clone Wars episode where Kamino gets attacked he literally gets saved twice by the same ray-like animal and just...

The growth from judging Qui-Gon for the 'pathetic lifeforms' he picks up to whatever he has going on during the Clone Wars era. He must have gotten that from Qui-Gon though, right?

And because it's my brain and it's rotting with all the star wars stuff I am consuming I was thinking of Obi-Wan saving all these creatures and the 212th having to deal with that. Surely they made one of the rooms pet proof in case one of them needs a new home. There also have to be clones who love that because of course Obi-Wan can't really take care of rescues on top of all his duties.

After the first few times this happens Cody learns to order animal food and other necessities. And if the Republic doesn't fulfill these requests or asks too many questions he'll just have to make sure to organize them on planet during the campaigns.

i think it's a real like. ugh how do i put this. the minute you start discord servers with rules and mods, it feels like less of a co-created space. which was also true of communities on lj or dw, but everybody did always have their personal blogs to fall back on and could create community there. but then your other options are like tumblr, which i think is good for creating one on one relationships but pretty uniquely awful for fostering community (and i say this as someone who is TRYING. and FAILING), or twitter, which is also good for one on one relationships and SOME community building but ultimately failed to hold the necessary character space and the visible follower count created some weird hierarchies, and is on top of that now in a total state of decay and full elon musk fanboys.

and i think a lot - A LOT - about how to build vibrant fannish communities on al gore's internet in 2024 when a) the social media landscape is no longer willing to publicly diary their way into community ala livejournal and b) twitter made me so unhappy and c) tumblr as a microblogging site with the option for anonymous asks is not set up to create community and d) discord is by its nature pretty insular (which is both good and bad to be clear) and if it's a tight knit server, difficult to bring new people into the fold with grace. on top of that, nsfw content is being legislated off the internet, so it's like if you want to go some place to talk about blorbo getting wrecked, you have to be conscious of your account getting killed, unless you're on dreamwidth.

and like it's not NOT a problem in the greater western world, the move towards insular communities, but when i think about specifically how to create a broad, accessible community on the internet for fans it's like. man where even are there mechanisms for that. like i think about this so much and i just have not come with up with a good solution. there are not enough people active on dreamwidth for me to want to put effort into creating a community there and at this point tumblr would have to completely implode to get people to move to a different social media site. i do not know what the solution is!! and it's very frustrating to me as someone who values community!!

also like 5000% this is on me for my life falling apart in november and december and doing nothing materially to fix it until the very end of december but the fact that i did not keep up with 4th line and time begins round up posts absolutely haunts me. but it's also like. two newsletters a month for not very much engagement was very hard to maintain focus on tbh. but it's again like...if you build it they will come does not work, both in fandom and in life, but also how do you create a community on a platform not set up for building community while also contending with general disinterest. you know?? or ok. i have said before that the greatest thing i could ever do in fandom is not write the perfect fic, but create something that brings people together, with or without me, and i do still believe that with my whole heart. but wanting that, and not knowing if it's actually happening, does not make it easier to commit to doing

After being fired from his job at a convenience store, Blues convinces Bass to start working on a farm far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Bass hates it at first, insisting that robots as important as himself don't do farm work and manual labor. Eventually he opens up to it with the help of Blues and the lovely couple that owns the farm.

The right sketch is from a scene where Blues gives Bass baby chicks to hold and Bass struggles to just...hold them...He's so used to destroying that he can't hold them without his thoughts trailing off to dark places. Don't worry, though, Blues and the farmer couple are there to help him through those thoughts.

Eventually Bass reaches a point where he can help with taking care of the animals on the farm without any intrusions.

Unfortunately, Wily's 2nd numbers get wind of Bass and Blues on the farm and well...that's all you get for now. :3c Okay bye until next time!
