#but Sonic's are special because they're more intense

What bothers me about how forceful/unbased some neurodivergency/LGBT+ headcanons are is how they give off the vibe only neurodivergent or queer characters are allowed to have anything going for them. Not even anything special! Let's take TMOSTH: Tails feels empathy for many things? Autistic! Espio speedread a book to spoil the ending for Knuckles? Autistic! Or what you pointed out in Archie, with Shadow stating he likes his motorcycle? Autistic! As someone who only recently found out they might not be entirely neurotypical, I recall quite disliking and feeling somewhat hurt that every single thing a character did immediately gets spun around to fit the OP's projecting, with the attached "fuck the straights and the neurotypicals only gay people would ever do this" that tends to come along with it (where the thing "only gay people do" 99% of the time is the most basic thing in the world). It's almost like people don't want to consider that the most normal, down-to-earth, "boring" (used in the way such OPs tend to use it: as an easy jab) neurotypical cishet person can feel empathy for many things, speedread, or like a motorcycle. I feel like there is more behind that due to the state of the world at large, but it's annoying to see have to come across it in fandom all the time, and then have the "proof" be complete nonsense or entirely taken out of context to "support" the statement. Not to mention the "joking" accusations of bigotry if you do not share such headcanons that occasionally get added as well.
Another example I thought of the moment I hit the "ask" button: Surge getting revealed as Sonic's "clone" and the ENTIRETY OF TUMBLR immediately deciding this meant Sonic was trans. The fact they aren't even the same species nor look alike in the slightest and the fact I thus promptly got very worried about the biology knowledge of the entirety of Tumblr aside, thank god that shit died down when it got revealed Surge legit was just some rando Starline plucked from the streets with no relation to Sonic.
You hit the nail on the head.
When autistic headcanons are created from the basis of "X has a passion for Y!", I'm here like... do you think autistic people are the only ones who can feel any sort of love or attachment over something? Do you think neurotypical people can only blandly tolerate things? Isn't hyperfixation something much, much more intense than a passion? Isn't autism much more than "being shy and with something they love", and isn't ADHD much more than being excitable? This shit makes legit harder for people to realize if they're neurodivergent or not because I swear that literal human nature is deemed to be "divergent". If "neurotypicalness" is associated with being an emotionless, insensitive asshole, no wonder no one would want to identify as, or call their favorite character, neurotypical!
Don't get me started on how for some people "straight" is a synonym for boring and "gay" is a synonim for fun and quirky. Shocker: love and fun are not limited to non-cishet people. It's not a "weird", exceptional state of humanity. Cishet people can have a personality too.
lmaooooo I remember that headcanon, good times. Speaking of which, while the headcanon "Sonic is trans because he doesn't have chest fur" is... something, I side-eye people who headcanon Surge as trans. Oh, you think that the nasty, aggressively masculine bully is trans? It doesn't look good in either direction :) (same for the people who headcanon her as a lesbian, despite her having 0 meaningful interactions with female characters, solely because she's "butch". I wouldn't want to do that, but I may be biased lmao)

One of my favorite things about your story is Kai and the way he sees a lot of things. Like in the last chapter, because he's right about pretty much everything about Garmadon! And I don't know I just love the way you write Kai everything just feels so in character when you write him. Can't wait for the Lloyd and Kai moments! If I may ask, What are you're favorite moments from Kai in the show and why?
Thank you!! <3
Kai just...unexpectedly comes easy to me? At first I thought he'd be a really hard character to write for because for a long time he was, like, my 5th favorite ninja snksnk (he's teetering around 2nd/3rd now) but his voice/dialogue/direction is just so GOOD that I can just always hear his voice in my head and I can get a pretty good picture of what he's probably thinking about things xD (...really the only thing I changed was making him more prone to crying, but I'll chalk that up to his softer movie personality seeping into show!Kai's intense emotions haha)
Anyway, fave Kai moments? Lessee:
The "I shouldn't have come on my own" from the Pilots is a perfect way to summarize his "growth" in what is otherwise a special where nothing happens lol, but also I just generally really like Pilot!Kai because he's so indifferent about a lot of things but warms up to stuff eventually and that just feels so realistic and fascinating to me so shout out to that
His rousing little speech at the finale of S1 just before they go to build the Super Sonic Raider. They're at the lowest point they've been (so far) and you wouldn't expect HIM to be the one to try and rouse everyone up again, but he is, and he does it perfectly, and I love that for him <3
The "I Should've Been the Green Ninja" moment is just *mwah* It was an escalation I hadn't been expecting WHATSOEVER, but it made sense?? And the reveal of Kai genuinely not wanting to think like that but also still feeling like that regardless is delicious and full of potential that never panned out but was still really cool and still gives me brainrot! (Totally didn't manifest that into Jesse too hahah nope)
(Actually all of S4 counts; it was one of the few times his personality was allowed to just thrive instead of just reacting to everyone else. His coping of Zane's death. The way he united everyone on their Elemental Dragons towards the end. The eternal Lloyd support. The Kailor Krumbs. The Double Crossing. All the savagery towards everyone else at any given moment. Just. Aaah. Do not get me started on S4 to ANY degree I won't stop)
Kai risking drowning to save Lloyd nuff said woop
Kai?? Fighting HIS DAD?? When he KNOWS it's his dad and tries to kill anyway out of all the built up aggression and resentment built up over the years and with recent revelations??? And all it takes it a word from his mom to make him come to his senses?? *lies on the floor* Don't touch me
Also shout-out to him rebuilding the Golden Weapons I think I cried
Aight in the later seasons Kai doesn't really get a specific moment to shine so to speak (except the get-your-powers-eye-glow moment which was dope) BUT whenever he DOES crop up for a scene or gets a line he SELLS IT SO HARD??? Sometime I swear Vincent realized Kai was getting the short end of the sticka nd thus tried to make Kai as memorable as possible whenever he speaks and I just think that should be recognized more <3
Aaaand that's enough, I'm not quite as passioned about him as the average Kai fangirl in the days of old but I do hold a lot of thoughts about him in my head and my heart

If you want, give us the full version of your thoughts about Sonic 06: the musical
Haha, this got long (2600 words!)
I'm a very cursed person to ask about this because there are three (3) musicals I am known to talk about and I have a very inconsistent music taste but here goes:
Opening Number. Themed around the festival of the sun, Soleanna, and Solaris during the chorus bits. It's got to have a number of overlapping parts, thanks to the game's three main storylines. It's loud and intense and expresses the goals of the main characters: Silver has to restore the future, Shadow has to protect the world's relative peace, and Sonic has to take down bad guys to save the common folk. Cool? Cool. Once everything's been established, Silver continues on with his part, describing what life is like in the future, and the chorus stays to the fringes of the stage. Silver is appealing directly to the audience. The music slows enough for Mephiles to come in, say his promising bit, and get Silver's agreement before swelling again for the end of the number.
Since they're on my mind, I'm going to establish a few things here. This musical should be focused on Iblis and Mephiles. Eggman will be mentioned, but not shown. Also, there is an actress for Blaze, but I really like the idea that she's a friend Silver made up, so she's typically only in scenes where Silver is alone or with Mephiles. Silver might make a few comments to her, but nobody else pays her any mind. A few things about the plot of '06 will be restructured to make it more concise, since musicals need to be pretty compressed.
Also, Mephiles needs a STRONG leitmotif. It’s with him whenever he shows up, as well as in other special circumstances as mentioned below. Additionally, his theme in the game is powerful for so many reasons, and one of them is the fact that it has no words. I think it's alright if he has pieces that are sung softly or not sung at all for the first part of the show.
Second Number. Sonic is doing his hero stuff. Just a general exploration of his character and daily routine with Tails. For this piece, he’s rescuing the princess of Soleanna from a mentioned “Eggman.” Elise does a brief little dance segment with Sonic and Tails before going offstage.
Throughout the musical, Elise can be seen as part of the chorus, but she will be primarily excluded from the plot. I love you, Elise, but for the sake of a musical, saving you repeatedly makes even less sense than it did in the game.
Third Number. As Sonic runs off the stage, Shadow runs in from the other side and stops in the center, right wherever Sonic just was. As he does so, the lighting changes. This is his spy mission to retrieve Rouge and the Scepter of Darkness. The chorus of this song is “cold” and has a hard drop*. This is Shadow’s song, they can go however cool for it as they want.
*check out Idea, libidO, Wonderland, or Back Door to see what I mean (I didn’t think I’d be linking kpop but it was all I could think of for examples). It’s all about the vibes; they SCREAM “spy mission.”
Fourth Number. Silver’s in the present! This song is short, but it’s all about appreciating the world around you. Blaze, the friend he communes with when he’s anxious, is gone.
Fifth Number. Comedic little number between Silver and Amy. Amy tries to explain basic concepts of society to Silver, Silver mostly fails to understand them, Amy deems his efforts good enough. There are no background dancers; it’s just the two of them, and it really emphasizes the fact that they’re both in their early teens.
It’s cute and clumsy. Again, it’s supposed to be a lighthearted and comedic view of their search together. The audience obviously knows that they’re searching for the same person, but the characters don’t.
Sixth Number. They find Sonic and Tails! Yay! It’s their confrontation. Driven by his determination, Silver’s personality directly contrasts from what it was in the previous number. Sonic fails because he’s focused more on Tails’ well-being than his own. The whole thing continually builds until Amy cuts in. Silver is left alone on the stage.
Seventh Number. Silver solo number about weighing the world against a single life. We see his doubt. The determination is gone; he’s clearly a kid again. This piece is one of the more somber ones in the show. At the end, Blaze walks up from where she’d been watching at the back of the stage and sings a short bit about their mission. During this, we can hear Mephiles’ leitmotif to emphasize that he’s gotten inside of Silver’s head.
Transition Scene. Sonic and Tails bump into Shadow and Rouge. Sonic messes with Shadow, and after a bit, they chase one another around the stage, including up onto ramps and higher set pieces, where Rouge and Tails have settled. Sonic knocks into Rouge and sends the Scepter of Darkness falling to the stage below. It releases Mephiles, who says a bit, maybe sings a small part, and makes the stage go dark.
Just for the sake of this show, I think I want to do away with the whole “Mephiles takes up Shadow’s shadow” thing. Hating him is enough to form their special connection <3. Besides, Mephiles deserves a cool costume (I’m talking Macavity from cats levels of wild) that slowly devolves over the course of the show.
Eighth Number. IT’S CRISIS CITY TIME, BABY!!! Sonic and Shadow start to prattle at one another, then Tails and Rouge reveal that they’re all in the future. With that, we enter into a Team Sonic/Team Dark rivalry duet while they all look around for a way out. This is going to be a long piece; it transitions directly into the flame core boss fight with Iblis, which is the half that’s heavier on choreography and lighter on words. At Iblis’ defeat, they realize that the monster tore open a portal, and without better options, they jump through it.
Imagine the banter between Sonic and Shadow in this song to be like the banter between Light and L in Stalemate from the Death Note musical. Not in context, but in the way their parts work together. Iblis should be a big jumble of chorus dancers dressed in red (think the costumes from this but all the same tone) that are linked together and lash out at the heroes.
Ninth Number. Mephiles redirected each member’s journey through time, though they all end up back in the present. When Shadow steps out of the portal, he’s alone with Mephiles himself. They have their little scene about humans going after Shadow, then a number wherein Mephiles remains calm but Shadow’s temper and tone rise. This is, of course, cut off with Omega shooting Mephiles, who ragdolls to the floor. Rouge’s voice comes over the speakers as if she’s talking through Shadow’s intercom to warn him that they’ve all been broken up. Shadow exits through the back of the stage. Omega exits through the audience.
I imagine Omega looking like a very stoic Man in Black sort of guy. He’s just some guy in a suit and sunglasses that speaks stiffly and has a gun.
Tenth Number. Sonic is all alone and has a solo about how he has no idea what’s going on. Silver appears elsewhere on the set such that their characters do not notice one another. Both of them sing individually about wanting to promote a better future, then have a short duet.
Eleventh Number. Silver has a very brief confrontation with Mephiles, who points out Sonic’s position on the stage.
Twelfth Number (Act I Closing). Silver confronts Sonic. Part-way through the number, Shadow hurries in to defend Sonic and drop the bomb that Mephiles has been toying with Silver the whole time (insert leitmotif with a note off). Triple S decide to team up. They all go into the portal to the past. This song is pretty long and an absolute BANGER.
At this point, Sonic doesn't need to rescue Elise two more times for padding. He can hang out with Shadow and Silver for Act II.
Thirteenth Number (Act II Opening). Solo Mephiles number. It's short, it's gentle, and it acts as his "I want" song the way that the opening number does for triple S. He briefly lets the audience into the agony he feels being separated from Iblis and his discontent with watching time being steered the wrong way. He also mentions that humans have mistreated him and how he loathes them. He remains onstage for the next number and watches the performance.
I didn’t make this part thirteen on purpose, but I think that that’s a nice touch.
Fourteenth Number. The Duke of Soleanna and his scientists are separating Solaris into pieces. Not only is the process described to us; this is where the audience is informed about what Iblis and Mephiles actually are. It ends with the blast of failure.
First act was all about triple S. I think it would be nice for these previous two pieces to focus a bit more on the villain. I wouldn't want it to be any sooner than the second act, since Mephiles is, by nature, in the background, but trying for the audience's sympathy would be neat. The fourteenth number should be performed such that we side against the scientists.
Fifteenth Number. Triple S rush onstage. Mephiles (the spectator) creeps away. They survey the damage. A bit wary of the stranger, Sonic offers to follow Iblis with Silver while Shadow goes after Mephiles. First, we follow Shadow, and there is a reprised motif from the ninth number.
Sixteenth Number. Sonic and Silver are chasing Iblis. There’s a short (maybe a minute, minute and a half) segment where they learn more about one another before the music slows. Silver catches Iblis, but before Sonic can try to jump at it, the Duke arrives with Elise, and we have a longer musical piece about her duty and his love for her. Even when this scene is over, the tune carries on until triple S meets up again to return to the present.
I don’t like the crying rule in the game. It’s hard to think about. If the Duke makes it clear that Elise cannot be incapacitated in some way, I think that that would make much more sense as a rule for releasing Iblis.
Seventeenth Number. A short song about all the different things that the characters have to accomplish. Silver wants to capture Iblis in the future, Shadow’s going to hunt down Mephiles, and Sonic’s going to check on the princess, now that he knows she might be one of Mephiles’ targets. They tear open a portal and all move to accomplish their tasks.
Think Notes or Preparations for the pacing. Maybe even Very Very Busy. Also, assume they’ve been collecting the chaos emeralds all this time. I’m too lazy to go back and find all the spots where they do.
Eighteenth Number. The scene where Silver seals Iblis. Let’s say he manages to seal it within one of the emeralds. When he does, Blaze disappears from the stage for good.
This one is supposed to be a little bittersweet. The song is powerful, but just like in the game, Silver should finish it sounding a little bit lost. He’s finally accomplished his lifelong goal, after all.
Nineteenth Number. Team Dark is on the hunt for Mephiles. The first part is just a search and probably has a motif from the third number. When they reach Mephiles in the desert, they have a little back-and-forth singing confrontation. Mephiles sounds the most agitated that he’s been in the entire show so far. There’s a short battle shown through dance, then Shadow has his biggest solo singing moment of the show before delivering the final piece.
This is a long number. The first part of this makes me think of Find Anatole and Why Have You Brought Me Here?. The second part also reminds me of something, but I don’t know what.
Twentieth Number. Sonic and Tails reach the castle of Soleanna and are denied entry. They devise another way in. The number ends in Elise’s room, where Sonic and Tails switch between entertaining Elise and being on guard. Mephiles comes up from the back of the stage and stabs Sonic through the back while he’s the entertainer. Sonic crumples to the floor. Elise screams and faints. Tails cries out. The whole scene stops so that Mephiles, looking at Iblis (which is probably just a lighting effect rising from Elise), can deliver a soliloquy. After that, the lighting goes wild, and the stage seems to shatter.
If you need a visual for the frozen moment in time, think of Hamilton’s final monologue.
Twenty-First Number. When the lights settle, the stage is arranged differently. All of the familiar cast is there: Sonic, Tails, Shadow, Silver, Rouge, Omega, Elise, and Amy. Shadow, Tails, and Amy examine Sonic, and they all find evidence that he’s alive. He isn’t bleeding out; this is a space without time. He’s also not getting any better. The group resolves to search for the emeralds again. The song starts out somber, picks up momentum, and ends somber again.
Twenty-Second Number. The group all comes back together around Sonic’s body. On the set above them, the light illuminates Mephiles, who is now Solaris. His costume is different than it was before. It’s brighter. He bursts into song with a gusto that we haven’t seen from him all show. As he’s delivering his villain moment, he’s puppeteering around the other characters on the stage below.
The intensity of this piece is supposed to show that Mephiles is whole again.
Twenty-Third Number. The longest piece of the show. The characters attempt to gather all of the emeralds together, but Mephiles keeps them each from reaching Sonic. Tails is the one to devise a plan; he gives his emerald to another character, who begins to discreetly collect them from the rest of the cast while Mephiles’ attention is elsewhere. Tails sets up a distraction that allows this character to reach Sonic. The chaos emeralds erupt with power, Sonic rises, yadda yadda, Solaris boss fight. The musical piece goes on all the way until Sonic and Elise are alone with Solaris’ flame and choose to blow it out.
I think Amy should be the one to collect the emeralds. That would be neat. I don’t have much of an idea what the fight would look like, but to be fair, I’ve been outlining for four hours by this point and my brain is starting to wear out.
Twenty-Fourth Number. A reflection of the opening number. Themed around the festival of the sun. Sonic and Shadow double down on their goals, maybe with an extra lesson they’ve learned. Silver has a solo moment to express what he’s looking forward to in the future. Most of the piece is bright and expressive, but it ends on a mellow tune.
I have a few ideas about the costuming and makeup that I’m NOT going to try tacking onto this post because it is long enough, but the sum of it is that I don’t want the characters to be Sonic characters human-ified. I want the costumes to be WEIRD. If anything, I want the costumes to only be evocative of the characters they represent. They should be able to stand on their own for the purposes of attracting the general audience.
I always like shows where the chorus dancers go through the aisles. I think that that would be a nice touch for the opening and ending numbers.
For how dramatic it is, Sonic ‘06 should always have just been a musical. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

Yknow what. I'm gonna make this post because I saw a Twitter thread and I think it's important.
Allistic people need to stop co-opting clinical terms for AuDHD experiences.
Hyperfixation and special interest are both clinical terms used to describe experiences exclusive to autism (in the case of special interests) and ADHD, and neither of them are fun to experience. Let's go over the two terms before I go any further.
Special Interest
A special interest is a usually lifelong interest exclusive to autism that usually starts in childhood (and is part of the diagnostic criteria; I don't remember if it's required or not). An autistic person can have multiple special interests as far as I know. Personally my primary special interest is zoology, and has been for as long as I can remember. I have an additional special interest in neurology that started because I had a seizure when I was 10 and I've been fascinated by neurology ever since, to the point I'm tempted to try to become a neurologist myself (technically this special interest is actually in medicine in general but I had this seizure and sorta honed in on neurology in addition to having a special interest in medicine lol). From my experience, the intensity of a special interest can wane and wax over time, but they're a constant in your life. For me personally, my special interest in zoology is more likely to be prominent if I'm hyperfixated on something involving animals (like Sonic or my furry OCs).
Here's the thing though: I have been subtly implied to be a predator because of my extensive knowledge of animals. I'm literally just someone who does way too much research on animals because of curiosity and fascination. In addition to this, while I definitely don't mind (it's an integral part of who I am, and people asking me to share that part of me makes me super happy), I've been treated as an actual zoologist amongst my friend groups and even in my family. I don't mind it as long as people acknowledge that I'm not a professional when it comes to animals, but it bothers the fuck out of me when I mention I don't know something and get told "well, aren't you super into zoology or something?"
Hyperfixations
Hyperfixations are like a more intense, shorter term version of a special interest that's not exclusive to autism. It's common for people with ADHD to end up with hyperfixations too. There is a slight difference between hyperfixation and hyperfocus; a hyperfixation is usually an interest that lasts months (although I've had some that last mere weeks and I'm sure hyperfixations lasting shorter amounts of time than that aren't unheard of), while hyperfocus is being so incredibly focused on something that doing anything else is out of the question. The two usually overlap but don't always.
Examples of things I've been hyperfixated on:
Undertale
Deltarune
The Good Doctor
Animal Crossing
Sonic the Hedgehog
Dungeons & Dragons (pretty sure this is a special interest at this point. If it goes dormant it does not take long for me to get back into it. It also feels like a more casual interest but I am Not Normal™️ about the Forgotten Realms lmao)
Ninjago
Again, hyperfixations aren't fun to have. I lost sleep when I was hyperfixated on The Good Doctor because I would stay up all night and watch it. I watched all 6 seasons (averaging 20 episodes each, with 45 minute episodes!!!) within 3 weeks. That wasn't healthy (which is kinda ironic in hindsight considering The Good Doctor is a medical drama but MOVING ON). I lost sleep when I first hyperfixated on Undertale in 2017. Losing sleep over hyperfixations ISN'T FUN. I just want a normal sleep schedule man.
Similarities Between The Two
From my experience, the biggest similarity between hyperfixations and special interests is with both of them, you can't really help what your interest is. It's why I hate it when people get upset with autistic people and people with ADHD when they have "problematic" interests (glares at everyone who gets upset that people are still interested in Harry Potter). I am very much aware of some of the issues with The Good Doctor. I was aware of them when my brother offered to watch it with me and we stayed up watching it until 3am. I still got hyperfixated on it.
I got hyperfixated on plane crashes a few months ago. Some people might not see how that's problematic, but aside from me also losing sleep over that one (this time for more than just staying up all night watching a show related to the interest), the ones that fascinated me the most and still do (aside from British Airways Flight 009)? The ones that were deliberately (or planned to be deliberately) taken down. Pan Am Flight 103. Philippine Airlines Flight 434. FedEx Flight 705. Air France Flight 8969. Germanwings Flight 9525. It fascinates me. But seeing people be shamed for special interests and hyperfixations deemed "problematic" also makes me feel bad even if I'm not specifically or directly being targeted.
Special interests and hyperfixations aren't some "uwu cute interest" we can control the topic or intensity of. I've hyperfixated on things to the point of forgetting to go to the bathroom until I'm almost too late to. I've hyperfixated on things to the point of forgetting to eat and drink. I've hyperfixated on terrorists taking down planes. My special interest in animals goes beyond just "man, animals are cool!" I have spent hours researching animals and their behavior, diets, reproduction, everything and it leads people to the wrong conclusion. All I want to talk about is what I personally am interested in. I had to physically stop myself from asking my grandpa to buy me new dice because yeah, gaming/campaign dice are another special interest I have, and that's not fucking cheap. The dice I was tempted to ask my grandpa to get me were almost $10 for a set of 3 at Walmart, and I wanted two sets. My grandparents aren't really in a great spot financially, and I was already asking for a $15 dice tower. I broke my ability to write regular stuff because I hyperfixated on HTML too close to the sun and my brain kept going "okay, but where are your <p> tags?????"
None of it is something I can control. That's why it's a symptom of a fucking disorder. You think AuDHD people are gatekeeping the terms special interest and hyperfixation? Fine, fuck you. You're just downplaying what those terms mean.
I've been refusing to watch anything except D&D: Honor Among Thieves because my autism brain personifies everything and I feel like I'd be betraying something if I watched something else, ended up fixated on that something else, and lost interest in D&D.
Hyperfixations and special interests aren't a fucking joke. They're fucking debilitating. I shouldn't be getting so focused on something that I forget to pee because I forgot my body does that in the first place and my focus being interrupted should not make me irritable, or borderline ANGRY.
"But what if --" IF THIS SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING YOU EXPERIENCE THEN YOU DON'T COUNT. I'M SPECIFICALLY TALKING ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO TALK ABOUT BEING ABLE TO BE INTERESTED IN THINGS A NORMAL AMOUNT AND STILL CALL IT A HYPERFIXATION OR SPECIAL INTEREST. If you don't LITERALLY MAKE YOURSELF SICK OR HAVE UNHEALTHY HABITS BECAUSE OF AN INTEREST, it's not a hyperfixation, and if you don't have autism, you can't have a special interest.

I have a theory avout something. When knuckles says "do I look like I need your powers", I dont think he meant that he's stronger than sonic. I feel that he's talking about how hes the same as sonic. Notice how he also has electric surges appearing when he uses his powers just like how sonic does? Knuckles bus connected the the master emerald and the chaos emeralds. That could be where the electric surges come from. That also implies that sonic is too. Which is obvious since he can turn super. Also I feel that there is something elemental going on top. Knuckles being earth/strength and sonic being wind/speed. Knuckles is obviously not electric, and bit seems that those effects are not just for show either when they put it on him. So sonic being associated with electricity like we thought in the first movie is definitely not it but something more.
Tumblr media
Indeed, Knuckles clearly has chaos powers too! But his are based on strenght, which makes him a perfect counter to Sonic's speed.
Here's something I don't see being talked about enough: Tails might have chaos powers of his own.
Tumblr media
When flying, Tails' body glows with the same kind of electric energy. I still don't know what this means, but it's worth considering.

:O I see you've added Sonic to the list! Could I ask for Metal Sonic?
I'll see what I can do! Since no game was specified, I did a general concept with some personality research from the wiki ^^
Yandere! Metal Sonic Concept
Pairing: Romantic
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Yandere like behavior, Implied stalking, Kidnapping, Robot gaining sentience, Implied attempted murder, Mentioned thoughts of breaking your limbs, Superiority complex, Possessive behavior, Manipulation, Forced affection.
Tumblr media
- While Metal Sonic was built to rival Sonic's abilities, they in no way share the same personality.
- Metal Sonic is meant to be cold, dark, emotionless, and intelligent.
- Although while he may be emotionless, he is still capable of feeling emotions.
- Metal Sonic is also mute, meaning he is one to speak more through actions than words.
- No matter how cruel they may be.
- His Yandere behavior is Controlling/Manipulative and Possessive.
- He is shown to have incredible intelligence, learning from his surroundings.
- Even beconing self-aware at one point.
- Meaning obsession may start when he becomes more self-aware.
- He is a rather aggressive Yandere based on his behavior.
- He is also very determined once he has found a goal.
- Which happens to be you in this scenario.
- I also feel his behavior may become more intense if his darling is close to Sonic in some way.
- They're both so similar, which irks the bot that you prefer his rival.
- This may even fuel his goal to overthrow Sonic more.
- When he becomes self-aware, he is rather new to emotions.
- While it's almost impossible to tell in the beginning, you drive the robot crazy.
- Most of the time his obsessive tendencies occur inside his metallic mind.
- Until Metal Sonic gets close enough, however.
- When fighting Sonic if you're close to the blue hedgehog, the bot is extremely aggressive.
- When encountering you alone, the bot focuses on ways to incapacitate you if you try to fight him instead of trying to destroy.
- Metal Sonic is not afraid to harm you to keep you for himself.
- Breaking a limb, for example.
- It only makes it easier to catch you.
- When it comes to you there's a new goal, even if his master may not like it.
- Capture and trap you.
- A lot of this new obsession is annoying to Dr. Eggman, his creator.
- You keep distracting his most capable robot from his job.
- In fact, he isn't even sure how he managed to get so attached to you in the first place.
- Eggman may even pity you slightly.
- You're not meant to be involved, yet Metal Sonic went after you anyway.
- Once Metal Sonic manages to capture you will be after he has observed you from a distance and learned everything.
- That way you have no chance to leave unless you try something new to outsmart him.
- Unbeknownst to his creator, Metal Sonic traps you in a special cage to keep you in one place.
- Metal Sonic also has a superiority complex on top of this.
- Meaning while you're in that cage, the bot has such an ego boost.
- If he could talk he would probably taunt you, telling you how he's so much better than that organic blue hedgehog.
- Teasing you about the fact you're in that cage because he decided you should be with the much better counterpart.
- Perhaps it's better he's mute.
- Although the constant staring is also unnerving.
- Those red eyes gazing into your soul from outside the cage you're kept in.
- All for the bot's own 'enjoyment'.
- Due to the lack of expressing emotions, he isn't very affectionate towards you.
- Opting to watch you for what feels like hours through the cage you're kept in.
- That is unless he evolves his chip to mimic romantic gestures.
- Which he may do if he saw you had a lover in the past while he observed you.
- Just to give you a bit more comfort around the bot, who has now decided to claim you as his own.
- Metal Sonic doesn't care if Sonic tries to come save you in the end.
- He'll just have to show that organic that he's the superior of the two...
- Even if it means killing him to keep you.

I'd love to share my 'Kugo uses hypersonic waves in a good way' theory with you!
Apparently some dolphins (I know Orca aren't reaaallly a dolphin or a whale) can use their sonar/echolocation to stun sharks. I figure this is what Kugo used to paralyse people. I'm not sure how well it goes with other abilities but we know Selkie can use his clicks to locate things and work without sight, Orca's also use echolocation, a lot!
So, I just decided, with no research, that sonar/hypersonic can affect the nerves and in turn paralyses the target. BUT I did research Whales using sonar to woo the ladies during mating season!
And I figured, if Kugo veeeeryy lightly uses it on a lover, it makes their nerves tingle and apparently there's a heat factor too. I just really like the thought of him sitting across them at a table, gently, gently using his quirk and they're just getting rediculously aroused from the all over sonar massage.

You know what? This interested me enough that I did some research! I learned quite a bit about sound waves. I was never any good at physics,  so I was surprised by how interesting this stuff is!
Also, my older brother does a lot with sound (I think he’s a sound engineer that specializes in live sound technology [I can never remember the exact words]) and knows all about acoustics, vibrations, pressures, and all that jazz.
Tumblr media
Disclaimer: I’m no scientist or physicist. I just like reading and researching.
Ultrasounds can cause headaches and nausea in people. I also learned that skin can reflect 99% of ultrasonic sound waves. That’s so weird.
When amplitude increases, the effects of ultrasound increase. There are two effects of ultrasound: heating of the body cells and cavitation (due to the pushing and pulling of the molecules, bubbles can form in the body).
Cavitation can happen in any liquid. The formation and implosion of bubbles is the cavitation process.
“The sound waves cause the microscopic bubbles present in the natural liquids to expand (during phases A and B of low pressure) and contract until they implode (during phases C and D of high pressure).”
Tumblr media
With Kugo, the main effect of his ultrasounds would be cavitation. Fluid in the inner ear, body tissue, and/or cells throughout the body will have these bubbles form because of the push and pull of the sound waves traveling through the opponent’s body. They may form but then disappear (transitory), or stay within the body (sustained). It doesn’t really matter because it’s never good to have bubbles in the body (think of scuba divers dealing with the bends and all the problems that causes).
Ultrasound is also highly directional. It needs to be aligned precisely for the effects to happen. Kugo, when he uses it, is right in front of a target, minimizing the ‘preciseness’ needed since it is such a minute distance.
And because so much ultrasound bounces right off our skin, there needs to be a ginormous amount of power behind it. Thankfully, it seems Kugo is able to produce this power and amplitude. However, we haven’t seen how long he can emit this intensity of sound for. Though it may not matter. A five-second soundwave at that level could be enough to render the target incapacitated.
Ultrasound is used in different surveillance tools and motion sensors. It’s also used underwater, but there’s a difference in air pressure and water pressure, and there isn’t much (or any as far as I could find) research on underwater sonar and its effect on humans since we don’t live underwater and aren’t exposed to it at the same levels as a whale would be.
“An ultrasonic loudspeaker designed to operate on a subject who is two metres away would be thousands of times more powerful at two centimetres. Just walking past, or sitting near, the active emitter for a short time could cause damage.”
“Multiple ultrasound emitters used for surveillance would be worse. If a subject moved their head into just the right location, waves from different emitters could combine at the eardrum, causing much higher energies. Sitting in the wrong position for too long could then cause hearing damage without the subjects noticing.”
So, it seems even if Kugo emitted low levels, it could hurt his partner. Maybe, just maybe, if he was far enough away, and able to emit and maintain ultrasonic sounds at a healthy level (above the level his s/o’s skin would reflect it and below any sort of harmful level), they’d feel the effects.
But it’s risky. There’s no definite measure of the distance or strength needed. The moment they look nauseous or feel a headache coming, Kugo would stop. It’d probably worry him too much to try again.
Also, yes, many marine mammals use sounds in numerous ways! However, they’re underwater. Water and air and solids carry soundwaves quite differently, especially at different pressure levels in the ocean. And their biology is different as well.

2(1/2) Questions: Does Eggman like his belly being rubbed? Also Eggman has some massive feet, ya think he takes pride in them, wonder if they're ticklish?
One of my favorite headcanons is that he absolutely loves belly rubs! He even finds rubbing his belly by himself very comforting, so he enjoys giving it a nice rub after a meal, while he's relaxing, or going to sleep. While he can be a bit hesitant to admit it, he enjoys it even more when someone else puts their hands on his tummy and gives it attention through loving rubs. He'll jump at the chance to receive them and ends up wanting many more after because he loves the sensation.
Those with the lucky opportunity discover it's his weakness as he totally melts when he receives them. They also feel how wonderfully warm and soft his precious tummy is! He tilts his head back to bask in the pleasure as they give it a slow gentle rub. He whispers about how good it feels, urges them to keep going, and sighs happily with a big smile on his face! It's even better if they cuddle and kiss it too, he giggles with glee at the way kissing or rubbing the extra sensitive spots tickles.
It's also effective in lulling him to sleep. There aren't many methods that work but rubs always do the trick. He gets needy for them when he wants to relax or can't sleep. During cuddles, he'll ask for rubs to accompany them until he falls asleep and he's delighted when they're offered to him. He enjoys drifting off to the pleasant sensation of gentle caring rubs. He's very happy to know that his belly is admired and that they're truly enthusiastic about pleasing him! 💜💘💖
And yes, he certainly takes pride in the size of his feet like all his impressively bigger than average proportions! I imagine he'd take the opportunity to show them off and compare them with other contestants' in the Olympics, as a few events require him to show them to others. He'd boast about having the biggest and how all his larger proportions clearly mean that a certain something else is bigger too. Sadly he can't pull down his shorts to prove it, or else he'll get banned. XD
In this Sonic Channel art concept sketch, they implied that he enjoys foot rubs as they considered drawing Cubot giving him them. It makes sense as he wants to be made to feel very special and to be treated like royalty as the king he is! But his feet are another of his most sensitive ticklish areas, just like his belly and his armpits. So depending on how it's handled by the one giving them, they'll notice him trying to suppress a giggle to the point that he accidentally goofily snorts.
While having his feet massaged, they like to surprise him by tickling his soles and toes. He can't hold back and giggles adorably! It's so intense that he'll be in tears and bursts into a hearty hoho laughter. He has a reflex where he kicks his legs, so they have to try holding them down. He'll beg them to stop tickling through the laughter but he doesn't try hard to fight it and accidentally admits he enjoys it, so they keep surprising him to see more of his cute reaction in the future! 💜
