For the hug thingy...14👀 merthur
OKOKOK LOOK AHHSHGJFJF I'M SORRY IT TOOK SO LONG!!!!!!!! BUT ITS HERE ITS HERE I FINISHED IT
Admittedly, I struggled with it, and I got rly nervous that you wouldn't like it, but I hope you do!!!!!
Fic is below the cut! [I have also posted it on my Ao3!]
Merlin took a deep breath as he leaned against the reception desk of his hospital. It was quiet… Not that he’d dare say it out loud—it felt wrong to even think. He tugged at his scrubs a bit, adjusting them with a frown.
He loved the nightshift as much as he hated it. In his hospital, it was such a coin flip chance of whether they’d be rushed or silent at night.
He found himself immensely grateful for the calm night.
There had been a shift in the air that morning, a tug on his magic, almost a—a call… It was strange, and it made him wonder if maybe… Maybe it was time. Nothing had happened, though, and while he still retained hope, he found it dwindling. Perhaps he had been wrong, perhaps he’d not felt a shift. Maybe it was just his wish to see him again, that made it seem as if it were finally time.
Merlin worried his bottom lip between his teeth and looked over to the clock on the wall. 01:23 A.M.
Right, gods new and old, it was too late… Early, whatever. The sorcerer sighed loudly and turned around to smile at the receptionist.
“Been a long night,” he said in lieu of a greeting.
“Hello to you too, Ambrosius,” the Lady, Cherie, chuckled softly. “You look like shit—no offense, you just look exhausted. Have you taken even a single break this shift?”
“Who needs breaks when you have coffee?” Merlin retorted, winking as he ran a hand through his hair. Ugh, it was dirty. He needed a shower… “I only have five and a half hours left and I’m off. Let’s consider this my break, since I’m not doing anything.”
“Not considered a break when there’s nothing to do anyway,” Cherie raised an eyebrow. “We’ve been basically empty all night.”
“Oh, we talking about the night?” One of the new hires—an intern, if Merlin recalled—chimed in as she walked by, stopping to chat. When Merlin and Cherie nodded response, the younger woman let out a relaxed sigh. “Yeah, it’s so nice! So nice… Can’t believe I got lucky enough to be on rota for such a quiet night. The others are going to be so jealous.”
Merlin inhaled through his teeth, cringing as she spoke, and Cherie let out a small gasp. The intern looked between the two in confusion.
“What? What did I say?”
“Oh, honey…” Cherie murmured, shaking her head slowly. The intern let out a worried noise, her eyes widening.
“What?” She repeated, visibly anxious. Merlin just let out a sigh and placed a hand on her shoulder.
“It’s alright, you didn’t know…” He assured her, before dropping his hand and looking to the doors with a grimace. “You never say quiet in a hospital—I’m afraid you just damned us to a hectic rest of the night.”
Her shoulders droop in disappointment. “That’s a real thing? I thought that was just for drama in television shows… Oh, god, I’m sorry, I didn’t—oh, god, I was just excited.”
“Don’t fret too much, we’ve all been there,” Merlin told her. She looked at him with hope in her eyes, and he couldn’t help but smile. “Go grab yourself a coffee before things get crazy, you’ll need it.”
The intern nodded slowly, and with a final apology, she hurried off to get a coffee. Once she was out of sight, Cherie and Merlin looked at each other once again. The sorcerer chuckled softly, shaking his head.
“I think you made her feel worse, somehow, rather than better,” Cherie told him, raising an eyebrow with a grin. Merlin just shrugged.
“Maybe it won’t even change anything this time,” he suggested, “it doesn’t always, after all. Maybe we’ll get to keep the peace…”
No later than he said it, did they hear sirens approaching. Merlin groaned, dropping his head onto the reception desk. “Damn it all,” he muttered.
Tumblr media
Finally, five fifty-seven in the morning, Merlin walked up to reception again. Everything had finally just calmed enough for him to take a break… His magic buzzed beneath his skin, screaming at him for reasons he didn’t know. If he thought he was exhausted before, though…
He barely noticed the shift in the air as he turned to greet Cherie again. He was so tired, though, he didn’t pay it any mind.
“I’m… back,” he yawned, stretching his back out.
Cherie gave him a tired grin. “Welcome back, Merlin. You look even shittier than before.”
“Mm, thanks, I feel shittier than before,” he responded with a smile. As Cherie laughed, Merlin’s brows furrowed in confusion. The air felt off. Stronger than before, almost overwhelming now. His magic was practically vibrating with an eagerness he hadn’t felt in it since…
His breath caught in his throat, and his eyes widened. He absently noted Cherie asking if he was okay and nodded before looking to the ceiling. He knew she couldn’t feel the change, why would she? Merlin refused to turn towards the entrance for fear of not finding what he wished to. Shouting echoed from outside the doors, and his heart leapt in his chest.
It was happening. The time was here. His magic had been right. He could feel it. There was no other explanation! His King had returned… Oh, please let him have returned… He didn’t know if he could take another false alarm.
“Sir! Sir! You need to stop—resisting! We are trying to help you!” Merlin heard a man call in as the door swung open loudly. There was sound of a struggle, and Merlin’s anticipation grew. He looked to Cherie, to see her staring slack-jawed in the direction of the entrance. And then…
“Unhand me! I said, unhand me this instant, you fool! Do you know who I am?!” The forever familiar sound of his native tongue flooded Merlin’s ears, the voice speaking such old words almost more familiar than the language itself. His heart racing, Merlin spun to face the entrance.
His stomach lurched and a borderline hysterical laugh ripped from his throat when his eyes landed on the blond man in full armour, dripping wet, and shouting in Old Brythonic at the A&E entrance. The two policemen holding him by the arms were fighting to keep him restrained as he tried to tear himself from their grip, shouting a plethora of swears Merlin always knew Arthur knew no matter how much he denied it.
Their eyes locked and a relieved grin covered Arthur’s face as he stopped fighting. “Merlin!” He exclaimed, “Merlin, tell these buffoons to release me!”
“What language do you think that is?” Merlin heard Cherie ask. He didn’t answer though, he just grinned widely.
“Let him go, he’s distressed over being restrained, he’s not a danger,” he told the police, trying to keep his voice level. The policemen looked at each other warily, and Arthur gave Merlin a confused look as he spoke. Then, with a shrug each [probably deciding they don’t get paid enough for this], the men holding Arthur’s arms let him go. The King muttered something under his breath and rolled his shoulders back, turning and glaring at the paramedics. He relaxed significantly now that he’d been released, and spotted someone he knew.
Merlin took a shaky breath, thrilled yet close to tears, almost disbelieving his eyes and ears.
“Is it really you?” He asked, holding eye contact with Arthur, his native language rolling off his tongue with ease, despite his years of only being able to speak it to himself.
Arthur nodded slowly, and Merlin barely registered Cherie asking him what was happening. He would have felt bad for ignoring her had his husband not literally just risen form the dead.
“I’m not sure who else it would be,” Arthur responded, and oh… Oh, Merlin missed this, missed him. “Not Gwaine, definitely not Gwaine.”
Merlin let out a laugh, approaching Arthur, shaking his head. “You’re actually here, oh, you’re here!” He placed his hands on Arthur’s face, cupping his cheeks before letting go of him and moving a hand to the pulse point on his neck.
“What are you—”
“Oh, your heart…” Merlin cut him off, his voice a murmur as he fell so easily back into speaking his old, now dead, language. He held his three fingers against Arthur’s pulse, taking a deep breath to compose himself as he felt the steady beat of a heart beneath his hand. Tears stung his eyes despite his will not to cry. He dropped his hand and took a step back to really look at Arthur.
“It’s really beating, you’re really here… Gods, don’t let this be a cruel dream…” Merlin near begged as his eyes scanned his lover’s body, taking in every inch. He was alive.
“Merlin.” Merlin’s eyes snapped back up to Arthur’s face when he said his name, “It’s not a dream, cariad. I promise, I am here, and I am not leaving again. I will never leave you again.”
Merlin’s bottom lip trembled as Arthur opened his arms in a welcoming gesture. He felt the tears threaten to spill, and with a sobbing laugh, he launched himself at his husband, throwing his arms around his neck tightly. Arthur stumbled back slightly with the force of impact. He laughed softly as he regained his balance and wrapped his arms around Merlin’s waist, returning the embrace.
“I have no idea what’s happening, but it feels romantic,” Merlin heard one of the policemen mutter off to the side, in modern day English.
It was only at that moment he processed just how much Arthur was going to have to learn now that he was back. Though, perhaps he could find a spell to help him in the language department… It would make things much easier. Though, he’d have to think of something to tell Cherie later about it all. Ah, that was a problem for future Merlin… He could deal with the witnesses after a few hours with his finally returned King.
“I’m glad to be back—wherever this is,” Arthur muttered, and Merlin finally pulled away from the hug just enough to look at his face. He smiled, genuinely, as a few tears slipped down his face, and pressed their lips together gently. Gods, he missed him so much… When they parted, he let out a sigh and rested his forehead against Arthur’s.
“I’m glad you’re back too…”

“You have to drink it, Bucky.”Agent Brianna Markus said with a smug smile.
Bucky looked down at the bloodred liquid in the little glass bottle. Inside his head he cursed the moment inwhich he accepted the bet.
Agent Brianna Markus was anobnoxious person, too over-confident and insolent as hell. She believed to besuperior over everyone who wasn’t a part of S.H.I.E.L.D. and those who were butwith a lower rank than hers. The type of people Bucky despised. He alwaysavoided her at the base and hated when they were assigned on common missions. But what he really hated was the fact that she took any possible chance toflirt with him. And she did that completely openly and sometimes too direct asto make him or the people around them uncomfortable. Bucky always pushed heraway but she was insistent. And she had found her way to him fulfilling herlittle plan.
You were observing from aclose distance alongside other agents. Just an hour ago Brianna had fooled Buckyinto a ridiculous bet which he was certain she would lose. And then she wouldhave stopped talking to him forever except on missions or only on work-relatedtopics. That was, of course, if Brianna lost. If Bucky lost, however, he was totake a love potion sitting across her, so when he opened his eyes he would seeher and fall for her forever.
Any person would laugh atthis. ‘Love potions? Give me a break! There’s no such thing’. But what wasknown only to S.H.I.E.L.D. was the fact that witches lived low-key among usjust like there were gods from outer space. Bucky was more than certain thatthe love potion was genuine and that he would be trapped into an illusion forthe rest of his life being in love with the worst person he’d ever met. On anyoccasion he would just toss it back at her and loudly state that he would nevertake it. But now? Oh, how smart she turned out to be. There were at least 20agents who observed everything. The setting of the bet, what the bet was aboutand the fact that Bucky lost. And he was so certain he’d win that he got out ofhis skin and acted all over-confident and obnoxious himself. There was no wayout of it. There was no going back. There weren’t any written rules about betsbut everyone knew the unwritten ones. Including everyone in that room at themoment.
“Come on, Bucky! A bet is abet!” Brianna kept on pressing him.
“Yeah, Barnes! You have to!”Some other agent said.
“You lost, Barnes! Drink it!”Another one added.
The ‘crowd’ went crazy as theystarted cheering for Bucky to drink the love potion. The only one quiet wasyou. You who was secretly in love with Bucky but who was too shy and unconfidentto approach him in any way. You who was the complete opposite of Brianna. And nowshe seemed to be the one to win the competition even though she cheated. Youwanted to stand up and yell against everybody else until they left Bucky alone. You even pictured yourself kicking Brianna’s ass, then rescuing Bucky from thispredicament. But your quiet and shy nature didn’t allow you to even move. Youcould only hopelessly observe the happening.
Bucky’s hand started shaking. Aroundhim there was a beehive of voices pressuring him to drink the love potion. Hecouldn’t take it anymore. He closed his eyes and drank the magical liquid.
Everyone gasped and the entireestablishment went completely silent. Brianna’s face lit up in expectation ofBucky to be finally hers. But he just kept his eyes closed. He felt some tinglysensation inside of him and could still taste the sweet liquid in his mouth.‘It must be working already’, Bucky thought to himself too terrified to openhis eyes.
“What is he doing?” Somebody whisperedto the person next to them.
“Open your eyes, lover boy!”Somebody from the back yelled.
But Brianna sat therepatiently. She knew he would eventually open his eyes.
“What is this?” Suddenly, everyone heard the voice of Nick Fury himself as his authoritative figureappeared at the balcony just above them.
Everybody jumped startled.Including Bucky who opened his eyes. But they didn’t land on Brianna. No. They happenedto land on you.
“May I ask why is everyonesitting around like this chatting and nobody is actually doing their work?”Fury asked unamused. “What if there is a sudden alien attack? Hmm? You’llinvite them for a cup of coffee hoping they’re not hostile?”
Nobody even dared to move amuscle. Everybody were just staring at him terrified. Even the bold Brianna whowas too distracted to see where Bucky’s eyes were.
“Everyone back to work andknow that if I see this one more time you’re all out of the intelligence!” Furystated firmly and continued on his way.
You sighed in relief andrestored your breathing. Everyone just looked at each other saying things like‘that was close’ or ‘man, that was scary’. Only a few seconds later did youlook back at Bucky remembering what you were all doing there. And with quitethe shock you noticed the way he was looking at you.
“Bucky?” You heard Brianna’s heinousvoice.
She snapped in front of hiseyes but they wouldn’t move away. She followed them and with a terror noticed hiseyes were looking at you.
“NO!” Brianna screeched.
“Ohhhhh” Some people startedlaughing at the twist of the events.
“Wait, is it Y/N?” Someoneasked.
“What happened?” Somebody wastotally confused.
“Bucky and Y/N sitting on atree K-I-S-S-I-N-G” Somebody felt the need to sing.
You couldn’t have been moreembarrassed. You even hated having to submit your reports which seemed like toomuch public exposure, let alone this. You wanted to sink into the ground andstay there forever.
A door opened on the upperfloor. Everybody looked up at the balcony.
“Is it Fury again?” Someoneasked terrified and all agents ran towards their working stations likecockroaches when the light is turned on in the kitchen.
Only you, Bucky and Briannaremained where you were.
“You will pay for this!”Brianna shouted.
“How do I have anything to dowith this?” You tried to protect yourself.
“Oh, you think I haven’t noticed?”She got up and walked towards you. “The way you look at him. With yoursparkling eyes. You want him, too.” Brianna was standing right above you. “Andyou dare to tell me you have nothing to do with this? You barely waited foryour little chance to ruin my plan and get Bucky to be yours!” She yelled herlast words which made you jump startled. “I swear to god, Y/N. You will pay forthis!” After which Brianna retired to her office.
You were sitting therebreathing heavily. Just a few minutes but they turned your world upside down. What was to happen now?
“Y/N, you’re so beautiful.”You heard Bucky’s voice from a distance.
You slowly looked at him andnoticed the stupid expression on his face. It would appear he was madly in lovewith you. And how couldn’t he be? He took a freaking love potion and you werethe one he first saw.
“Bucky…” You started softlyand walked towards him. “You’re not really in love with me. It’s magic.”
“Magic is your smile for itmakes me melt every time I see it.” Bucky replied as he got up towards you.
Those words took your breathaway. Nobody has ever spoken in such a manner to you beforehand.
“Your eyes are like twostars.” Bucky continued his love poetry. “Shining beautifully and bright makingyou want to gaze at them for all of eternity.”
You found it really hard tohold yourself. After all, you were in love with him. And now suddenly – he wasin love with you, too. It all sounded tempting but your common sense was stillwinning.
“Listen, Bucky.” You said.“I’ll find a way to fix this. I’ll ask Brianna who did she take the love potionfrom and try to get an anti-dot or something. You’ll be fine.”
“I am fine when I am aroundyou.” Bucky was so close to you that you felt really uncomfortable.
He was leaning down as to kissyou but you stepped away. You were scared that if he did you might fall for himeven more and then your common sense would be swept under the rug like it neverexisted.
“Y/N, where are you going?”Bucky followed you.
“Back to work. What you shoulddo as well.” You said accelerating your pace.
But Bucky was following you inseparably. You were passing by some agents who looked at you two weirdly.
You finally got to yourworking station which you shared with agent Lilly Pennington. She wasn’tpresent earlier, so she had no idea of your misfortune.
You basically ran inside andclosed the door after you. Lilly looked at you startled.
“Y/N, are you alright?” Sheasked you concerned.
Before you managed to sayanything Bucky appeared at the small square window of the door and placed hisface and hands on it. He had that stupid expression over his face again.
“What is going on?” Lillyasked confused. “Y/N? Why is agent Barnes looking at you like that?”
“Oh, Lilly. If you knew.”
“Well, I can know if you tellme.”
“I love you, Y/N!” Abruptly,Bucky shouted from across the door.
“What?” Lilly screamed barelyholding her laughter.
“Oh my god!” You mumbled sittingon your chair. “What am I going to do?”
“Wait, wait, wait, wait…”Lilly said. “Start from the beginning. What is happening?”
You briskly explained theongoing situation to your partner. And after she spent 10 minutes in genuinelaughter you noticed Bucky was still gazing lovingly at you through the windowof the door.
“What am I going to do,Lilly?” You asked without a hope.
“How about embrace it?” Sheasked back. “You are in love with him. And now he’s in love with you.” Shespoke smugly.
“Look at him!” You shoutedpointing out at his stupid blank expression. “He’s not himself. He cannotfunction. Why would I want him like that? He just follows me like a puppy. That’s not a meaningful relationship.” You placed your face in your hands.
Lilly got up and walked to thedoor. “Let’s see.” She said but before you managed to react in any way sheopened the door.
Bucky walked inside stillstaring at you the same way. You got up ready to kill your partner. Instead, you saw her standing in front of Bucky. He didn’t move his eyes at all.
“Hello, Barnes?” Lilly saidwaving and snapping in front of his face. There was no reaction.
“See? He’s a zombie!” Yousaid.
“But he’s your zombie.” Shereplied smugly. “Take him. What woman doesn’t want an idiot at her feet?”
“Lilly, this isn’t funny!” Youshouted.
“Then why am I laughing?” Shewas enjoying this way too much.
Suddenly, Bucky walked towardsyou. You stepped backwards startled but almost immediately your back hit awall. Bucky stopped in front of you. He leaned down towards your lips. Insteadof your lips, however, Bucky tasted the wall for you had moved away at the rightmoment.
“Bucky…” You said as you walked away. “We havea problem. This can’t work.” You turned around.
As you stopped you felt himright behind you. You made a step, he made a step, too. You made two steps, hefollowed you in exactly the same way.
“I need to talk to Brianna.”You said and flew out of your office.
At the end of the corridor, thestairs, two floors up, another corridor. Bucky followed you inseparably.
You stopped in front ofBrianna’s office and knocked.
“Come in.” You heard herunpleasant voice mixed with irritation. She hasn’t forgotten the mishap fromearlier.
You walked in followed byBucky. Brianna’s facial expression changed from ‘I had a bad day’ to ‘I’m goingto kill everybody in this building starting with you two’.
“Look, Brianna.” You said. “Iknow there’s tension between us and we don’t really like each other but we haveto fix this.” You said pointing at Bucky who was still staring at you.
On his turn, Bucky got down onone knee and held your hand. “Y/N, will you marry me?”
Brianna literally broke thepencil she was holding. The parts flew in the air and hit the two oppositewalls.
“We really need to fix this.”You were basically begging her.
“Please, Y/N, marry me!” Buckywas insistent in his trance. “Please, be mine!” He said after which he startedkissing your hand.
“That could have been me.”Brianna said through her teeth angrily.
“Y/N!” Bucky continuedmentioning your name as he now got down at your feet and started kissing them.
“Brianna, please.” You weredesperate. “I’ve never asked you for anything else.”
But she was just looking atyou enviously without saying a damn word. You looked at your feet. Bucky wasnow hugging your leg whispering “Y/N, marry me.”
You walked out of Brianna’soffice dragging your right leg which Bucky was still holding. Everyone lookedat you with confusion and surprise.
“Y/N, where are you going?”Bucky asked you sad.
“Oh, look, it’s the lovebirds!” An agent that was present earlier shouted.
“How’s the love life?” Someoneelse said.
“Look at Barnes! His mind isgone!” Somebody laughed.
“Gone at Y/N!” Another oneadded.
Everyone was laughing, eventhose that weren’t present earlier. You saw the girl’s bathroom and savedyourself there. Luckily for you, there was nobody inside.
“Get up, Bucky!” You decidedto be firm.
He obeyed. That stupidexpression was on his face again.
“I have work to do.” Youcontinued. “And you have work to do. Now we will go out from here and we’ll goin different directions. I’ll go back to my office, you’ll go to yours, right?”
“Your lips are so beautifulwhen they move.” Bucky said.
You sighed. “Bucky, this isn’treal! You’re not in love with me and you don’t want to marry me! You need torealize that!”
“I’ll rip my metal arm off ifyou want me to.” Bucky wasn’t making sense at all.
You were staring at him inpure shock. What were you going to do?
“Where is he?” You heard thedistant voice of Sam.
“Oh, thank god.” You said inrelief.
You walked out of the bathroomfollowed by Bucky. “Sam, over here!”
He looked at your directionwith his eyes and mouth wide opened. You walked to him with a hope.
“You need to help me!” Yousaid desperately.
“What have you done to Barnes?”Sam asked you angrily.
“Me?” You were offended. “Itwas Brianna!”
“But they say he’s under yourspell or something.”
“My spell?” You were losingit. “Brianna wanted to give him a love potion, so he’ll be hers but he ended upfalling for me.”
“You’re so beautiful whenyou’re angry, Y/N!” Suddenly, Bucky said still staring at you.
“Alright…” Sam was losing hispatience. “Come here, lover boy.” He said pulling Bucky aside.
“Wait, no… Y/N!” Bucky shoutedat you but Sam managed to hold him back.
You sighed in relief andwalked back to your office. You told Lilly what happened and tried to work butyou were still pretty shaken. You were released to go home earlier. You spentthe entire evening wondering what Sam did to Bucky but you knew it was theright thing. You hoped that by now he was all fixed and that tomorrow would beback to normal. As long as he didn’t remember anything of course.
You got to bed pretty earlytired from all of today’s emotions. You were just falling asleep when suddenlyyou heard the window in your living room breaking. You jumped out of bed as yougrabbed your work gun. You walked out of your bedroom ready to fire. Youweren’t prepared for what you were about to see in your living room.
“Y/N!” Bucky shouted injoyance to see you.
“Freaking hell, Bucky!” Youshouted back.
He was carrying a big bouquet offlowers and a box of chocolates.
“Why did you leave me, Y/N?”He asked with a sad tone. “I love you, Y/N!”
Bucky walked to you and got onhis knees again. He gave you the flowers and chocolates. Then he pulled thebelt across his body and a small guitar appeared from behind his back. Yougasped. Bucky started serenading you with a love song.
“Oh my god…” You whispered asyou grabbed your phone.
You dialed Sam. “Listen tothis!” You said after he answered and placed your phone at Bucky, so Sam couldhear.
When Sam arrived Bucky wasfondling your face explaining how perfect it was. How every inch of it was justwhere it had to be and how every shape and curve was perfectly placed. Thatwas, of course, after he was finished with his little love serenade.
“Jesus Christ, Bucky!” Sammumbled as he grabbed him once again and pulled him from you.
Bucky started fighting andscreaming your name but two other agents appeared at the door and helped Sam.You knew things weren’t over yet. You took a deep breath and took care of thehole in your window until a craftsman could fix it.
In the morning you got to thebase as any other day. You were beaten. You couldn’t sleep at all. Sam wasalready waiting for you in your office.
“How bad?” You askedconcerned.
“Come and see for yourself”.Sam led you.
You got to a double room forinterrogations. Bucky was in the inner room with a mirror. You were on itsother side that was a window.
“Y/N, where are you?” Buckysaid dragging himself over the floor. “Why did you leave me, Y/N?” He wasnearly crying.
Your heart was breaking seeinghim like this. It was obviously torturing him.
“All night long.” Samclarified. “He’s been like this since we got him here.”
You looked at Sam with wateryeyes. “What are we going to do?”
“We are not going to doanything.” Suddenly, you heard Fury’s voice behind you.
You looked at him startled andbowed for some reason. “Director.”
Both Fury and Sam looked atyou weirdly but ignored it.
“Brianna was already sent to demandan anti-dot from that witch, so we can fix agent Barnes.”
You sighed in relief. Itshould all be over soon.
“Y/N, my love.” Buckycontinued. “Where are you, Y/N? I need you! I love you! Y/N, don’t break myheart!”
“Do you want to go out?” Samasked you noticing how those words were affecting you.
“I can’t torture him anymore.”You said and abruptly opened the door and walked to Bucky.
“Y/N, what are you doing?” Samasked running after you but it was too late.
“Y/N?” Bucky asked with ahope. “Is that really you?” His eyes were all puffy. It seemed like he hadcried a lot.
“Yes, Bucky, it’s me.”
“Y/N!” Bucky yelled and walkedto you. He was once again at your feet.
“Y/N, what are you doing?” Samasked you irritated.
“Y/N, I love you!” Buckycontinued. “I breathe only for you!”
“Agent Y/N, what do you thinkyou’re doing?” Fury wasn’t charmed, either.
“Let him have a little bit ofpeace until Brianna comes.” You replied.
Neither Sam, nor Fury approvedyour doings judging by their faces. But neither of them also knew that you wereactually in love with Bucky and seeing him like this was killing you on theinside. Even though it wasn’t real.
“Y/N, will you marry me?”Bucky uttered lying on the floor at your feet. “Please, Y/N, marry me! I can’tlive without you!”
You sat down on the floor andsmiled at him. “Yes, Bucky, I will marry you.”
You heard Sam and Fury’sreactions. You were happy you didn’t see their faces.
“Oh, Y/N!” Bucky was losinghis mind even more. “I’ll make you very happy! And I’ll make you lots of kids.Like, at least 20!”
Fury walked out and Samstepped away. Neither of them wanted to witness this.
Secretly, you wished this wasreal. You were so in love with Bucky that you were ready to give him the 20kids he was talking about. Maybe adopt some of them, though.
Bucky started blabbering aboutthe wedding and all kinds of things as you just sat there listening to him, sohe wasn’t torturing himself being away from you.
Shortly after, the salvationcame. Fury got back alongside Brianna and a young witch. She was carrying theanti-dot. For a moment you got really sad. A few minutes later you would benothing more than just a colleague to Bucky again. You knew you couldn’t ‘keephim’ but he was starting to grow on you. Him and his stupid behavior and hiswords of enchanting you.
“Oh, that’s pretty bad.” Saidthe witch observing Bucky from a distance. “That’s really bad. How much of thepotion did you give him?” He asked Brianna.
“Well, the whole one.” Shereplied unceremoniously.
“Girl, I told you he has totake just a small sip!” She almost yelled at her. “A small sip and he’ll be inlove with you but still his self. But this?” She pointed at Bucky. “I bed hedoesn’t even eat. This amount of love potion is deadly! Have you forgotten whatI told you?”
Everyone looked judgingly atBrianna. You looked at her with rage.
“You cannot give this muchlove potion to a person!” The witch continued. “They become too obsessed withtheir loved ones and refuse to do anything else, including eating and drinkingwater. The potion itself is harmless but the consequences of the dose arelethal!”
You were ready to pull outyour gun and split Brianna’s skull in two.
“Y/N, why are you so angry?”Suddenly, Bucky spoke. “I want you to only be happy! Don’t be angry!”
“Oh my god, give him theanti-dot!” The witch said handing you a small glass bottle of a dirty whiteliquid. “Don’t torture the man anymore!”
“All of it?” You asked withprecautions.
“Well, since he had drank theentire love potion, yes!”
You looked at Bucky. He wassmiling like an idiot. You two were still sitting on the floor.
“Bucky, I have something foryou.” You said lifting the glass bottle in front of his eyes.
“For me?” Bucky asked surprised.“Y/N, you shouldn’t have! I should give you presents!” He said as he got up andwalked away.
“Bucky, wait!” Everyone jumpedstartled after him.
“Where is it?” He startedsearching for something. “I swear to god, Y/N, it was right here!”
“It’s okay, Bucky.” You triedto comfort him. “Drink this and you’ll feel better.” You handed him the bottle.
Bucky observed it for a whilebut eventually took it in his hands.
“Come on, drink it.” You said.“For me. If you really love me!”
“Of course, I love you, Y/N!”
“Then drink it. To thebottom.”
Without hesitation Bucky drankthe whole liquid. You saw the expression of disgust over his face. Then itchanged to pain and uneasiness. Bucky sat on the floor seemingly sick. You alljust observed.
“Argh” Bucky said rubbing hisface. “What the hell just happened?” He finally revealed his face after a fewmoments and looked around. “What am I doing here?”
“Bucky, do you love Y/N?” Samwas brusquely direct.
Your heart skipped a bit.
“What?” Bucky asked totallyconfused.
Everyone sighed in relief. Atwas all over.
“Thank you.” Fury said at theyoung witch. “You are free to go now. Agent Markus.” He looked at Brianna. “Inmy office!”
Just a few moments later theatrocious Brianna was released of her duties in S.H.I.E.L.D. Everyone was sohappy about it that you all even threw your little party.
“Will somebody please explainto me what happened?” Bucky asked confused and disoriented.
“What do you remember?” Samasked him.
“Brianna had me… well, shewanted me to… I drank it. I drank the love potion. I remember that.” Then puredisgust was written all over his face. “Was I in love with her?”
“No.” Sam replied. “Thecircumstances were such that you fell for Y/N.”
Bucky looked at you but youlooked away. You really needed fresh air, so you just walked outside withoutsaying a word.
While you were sitting outsideand thinking over the past 24 hours Bucky came to you and sat down. He seemedto be better.
“Do you remember anything?”You asked him.
“Vaguely.” Bucky replied.“Just some flashes in a way. I really felt the love, though. I really felt likethere was nobody else but you.”
“Well, that was the potion.”You laughed.
“Was it?” Bucky slipped.
You looked at him confused.
“Anyway…” He seemeduncomfortable. “I wanted to ask – did I really break your window?”
You chuckled. “You did, Bucky. You broke my window to serenade me.”
You two started laughing.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I’ll pay forit.”
“Don’t worry, Bucky. It’sokay. It’s important that you are back to your old self that is not in lovewith me.” You said in an even tone with a pinch of disappointment.
“That is not quite true.”Unexpectedly, Bucky said.
You looked at him surprisedand confused. Was this some residual effect from the love potion?
“Y/N, I am in love with you.”Bucky said gazing into your eyes. “I always have been. I just never… had thebravery to say it out loud.”
You were getting paranoidready to scream for the witch again.
“That’s not the love potionspeaking. It’s me!” Bucky was insistent.
You got up ready to run awayfrom him. You weren’t ready for this again.
“I love the way are too shy toeven submit your reports but are unstoppable to beat a criminal’s ass.” Buckycontinued. “I love how you tilt your head in small twitches when you getnervous. And how you try to hide it which usually makes you twitch even more. And I really love the fact that you are such a beautiful person and thecomplete opposite of Brianna.”
You felt like that now he was getting you under a love spell. But this one was for real.
“Y/N” Bucky said as he heldyour hands. “Please, be mine. For real this time.” He whispered as he leaneddown and kissed your lips.
Your body trembled at thetaste of him. You’ve waited for this for so long.
“How did you know?” You askedafter the kiss was over.
“By the way you look at me.”Bucky replied. “Or more like by the way you avoid looking at me.” He chuckledand so did you.
Hand in hand you got back atthe base. You couldn’t have been happier – Bucky was finally yours and Briannawas gone from your life. It took some time until the others accepted that Bucky’slove for you was real and not another love potion. Sam never truly got over itand actually slipped Bucky some anti-dots but his love for you never faded. Atyour wedding Sam finally accepted the truth and even became the godfather ofyour first child.

2. Tell us about what you’re most looking forward to writing – in your current project, or a future project
answered this one already, but i do have other stuff im looking forward do!
I’m really intrested in the witch!rebekol storyline, have one that im nearly finished writing. Just minor parts that are killing me. I wrote this without really going back on the episodes...and now they don’t fit and im trying to work around canon so they do. I could easily make it an AU, but i don’t want.
(but. i’m so TEMPTED to save kol somehow. oh gosh. rebekah is making it so hard.)
This one is like....a basis for more fics that I want to write about Rebekah being a witch. And The mikaelsons and their relationship with magic. !!!
LIKE OH i have in mind that Finn and Kol learned togather from their mother and i just want to write these to?? Explore what sort of dynamic they might have?? And then, perhaps link it back to his death BECAUSE i love that stuff.
AND ELIJAH. There’s so many many things I want to explore. Esther?? MIKAEL and what he thinks and oh theres so MUCH.
AND IM ONLY ONE PERSON *cries in writer*
AND!! Also, Rebekah and Freya. For this one that I’m writing on, I don’t think I could slip them in - it’s more on Rebekah and Kol’s relationship - but i do wish to write about them BECAUSE I HAVE SO MANY THOUGHTS
3. What is that one scene that you’ve always wanted to write but can’t be arsed to write all of the set-up and context it would need? (consider this permission to write it and/or share it anyway)
oh boy DONT I HAVE MANY
There is this scene but I don’t want to spill that one so - I’ll chose another. Jack saving his mom  AND GETTING OUT HIS WINGS AND EVERYTHING. From glowing eyes to him just protecting his mom?? I love that trope to death. GOT SO MANY FOR HOPE AND HER PARENTS TOO.
I know it says only one but I don’t care. ALL THE SOCEROUS (i forgot how to spell and cba to look up so ignore pls) GOING ON THEIR KNEES TO MERLIN AND MERLIN RASING HIS OWN ARMY AND SAVING BASICALLY ARTHUR AND CAMELOT ARTHUR WATCHNG ALL OF THIS.
Magic reveal fics are my fave. And just. I want merlin being BAMF and having army?? dragons and stuff bowing down to him, okay. And Him being like “i chose arthur as my king” or something. Like I follow Arthur so you will be following him too, along those lines AND ARTHUR BEING GOBSMACKED AWED AND JUST.
yeah, that. I have been wanting to write that particular one for ages, but errr. I don’t still even know where TO START??
(I kind of written something on the Merlin but I don’t like it. At all. I mean it has its good stuff in there but... has a whole. NEEDS SO MUCH EDITING it makes my head hurts. Also: It’s just not what I was looking for. The scene I had in mind)
(Ahhhh, fudge I really want to write this TT)
5. What character that you’re writing do you most identify with?
mmh. this hard to chose...I haven’t really thought about that. I guess, Kol? I get his feels about being outside of a group.
11. What do you envy in other writers?
HOW LONG THEY CAN WRITE
i wish i too could write that long TT
THE ACTION. i suck at writing fighting scenes BUT I WISH I COULD. so much. Like the body language and everything HOW
The way people can write plots?? That are so good??? I just. I’m like Can I pls borrow your mind because oh wow, this is amazing. 17. Do you think readers perceive your work - or you - differently to you? What do you think would surprise your readers about your writing or your motivations?
oh this is a really interesting one...
i think so! probably. I mean people all have different ways of thinking and life experiences that make them take in information different to how I do, so. I definitely think that people do. Might be wrong, who knows!
What would surprise...? I’m not sure.
18. Do any of your stories have alternative versions? (plotlines that you abandoned, AUs of your own work, different characterisations?) Tell us about them.
Let’s, let’s seee.....
For: we smiled, not knowing of the storm that would take everything (the storm that was us)
I was going to add, at the end, the part where Merlin stabs Morgana and how “easy” it was for him to, but I abandoned that plot line. Couldn’t make it fit and so I left it with “Merlin looks at her and all that's left is nothing. ” — I feel like it packs to the punch needed. And that adding to it would disrupt that BOOM at the end here. But I’m still so temptated to write that scene in every time I re-read this one. Just don’t know how to though. So you could say it’s an abandoned plot line but I feel like it could make its use in other fics I want to eventually write on these two.
Also for this fic, it was not supposed to be about Morgana and Merlin... she kind of just slipped in. I forget my initial ideas for it... but it definitely wasn’t Morgana. Somewhere along the lines of Merlin exploring his magic as a kid or his mom finding out, Will maybe.
For: the sun will shine again (let the clouds clear first)
I was going to add at the end, a scene where Sam fails Jack. I forget what it was about and what I wanted to connect but it was initially going to be angsty end but I changed my mind, thought these two need a moment to breathe. Especially Sam, lol.
Also: SAM WAS SUPPOSED TO EVENTUALLY TELL JACK BUT HE DOESN’T.
For that klelijah fic.... it wasn’t supposed to go like that. IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE MORE HAPPY but angst just dropped lol. I got those words saved actuallly, let me go and grab them.
It was a night without no clouds or stars. Bare and dark. They were laying beneath it, on the grass. And Niklaus was laughing, his paint-stained hands stretched out in front of him. “Look, Elijah!” He shouted. “Look!”
I didn’t know how to continue it so I scratched it off but I do adore it so much.
And also an alternative:
Elijah ran his fingers, slow and with intent down Niklaus’ cheek, taking away his tears. Pointless tears. There was no grief to shed here.
Where Elijah gets angry initially but goes like wtf? why would you ever think that? dude I made a pact to you. DONT YOU REMEMBER THAT.
And then a kind of au:
Dizzy and numb, Elijah asked, quiet:
“Do you really think that of me?”
Niklaus did not respond. He pressed his lips tight and shifted his eyes away but it was all Elijah needed.
Different reaction from Klaus. I was going to write this in...but I realised that Klaus was already looking away from Elijah and made my head hurt with trying to fix it in so i left it out. but! i do love it.
20. Tell us the meta about your writing that you really want to ramble to people about (symbolism you’ve included, character or relationship development that you love, hidden references, callbacks or clues for future scenes?)
WIP. From that time travel fic I keep talking about:
Goes up to the attic and slumps down against Elijah’s coffin. Hayley doesn’t open it. Not tonight. Tonight, she runs her fingers down the metal of it. Rests her cheek on the cold and closes her eyes.
Hayley doesn’t mean to sleep, not really, but—before she knows, Hayley is opening her eyes and it’s morning.
The birds are singing; Hayley can hear Mary downstairs in the kitchen.
I really love this little moment. Hayley had a tired, exhausting week and comes back, empty hand. Again. And just. This time, it’s hitting a little harder.
(It’s the fourth year anversary since they were all put to *sleep*. Four years since Klaus were taken prisoner and imprisoned. She heard news about the mighty klaus mikaelson putting down.)
(First news she heard since a long time.)
And I have this headcanon, that Hayley always goes up the attic and open the coffins—mostly Elijah’s, then Freya’s, Kol’s almost never—and she talks a little, clasps her hand to their cold hands, runs her hands down their grey skin, but. Today, she doesn’t. She can’t. Hayley can’t face that reminder. Looking at these coffins is already too much. Coming from the shower where she watched water drain out the blood is already enough.
(When did she slip so easily into her old life)
If she opens it now, if she sees their emotionless face and their so, so still body —
So, Hayley settles to a brief touch on the coffin itself, and stays there. Couldn’t bring herself to move again to her bedroom. She closes her eyes and gives herself a moment to sink in the quiet and the cold on her cheek, gives into the exhaustion she can feel.
And before Hayley knows — time has passed, it’s morning. She lost time and by the she wakes up. It’s morning, the world is awake. Birds signing and Mary down in the kitchen. Silence filled so suddenly.
Ehhh, I was going somewhere with this but I forget.
oh gosh IM HAVING FEELS ABOUT THIS NOW. HAYLEY.
22. Do you reread your old works? How do you feel about them?
how old are we talking about? I always come back to re-read my fics. The old ones, the ones dusting in my docs for a long, long time — and I cringe a lot, but...there’s a lot of good stuff in them as well.
I can look back and see how far I gotten (how I’ve fallen at some parts too lol)
and just. the difference? it’s crazy.

Speak Up
Remus Lupin x Reader (Modern Hogwarts AU)
Warnings: just fluff. Nothing crazy.
Word Count: 2344
Request: “So I kinda had a Remus x reader idea. it’s more like a modern age AU where reader is kinda quiet & often hangs in the common room with the marauders being loud, but just constantly has her earbuds in & reading/working, just enjoying their presence w/o being apart of it. The guys interact with her, she’s polite but tries not to mind her own. They finally convince Remus to talk to the reader and they find they have a lot in common? Ig that’s kind of what I was thinking if it all makes sense?” -- @bbkay7297-blog
Read on Ao3
Tumblr media
You tossed your books onto the main table in the center of the common room, where your friends were hovering over their newest project. Merlin only knew what they were getting into this time. But, you kept out of it, sticking to the advice your friend Lily had given you several years back.
“Potions is going to be the death of me,” you muttered as you plopped yourself down into one of the chairs. James raised his head and smiled, then turned back to his work. Sirius propped his feet up onto the table in front of him, nodding your way in greetings. Peter scowled down at the piece of paper in front of them, not acknowledging you at all. You didn’t mind. Frankly, you hadn’t seen him that focused in a long time, and you didn’t want to ruin the moment.
Your gaze flicked over to Remus, who nodded his head ever so slightly to whatever was playing through his headphones. His nose was deep in a book, more than likely something related to whatever shenanigans the group was up to. He was seated two chairs away from Sirius, towards the corner of the room, as usual.
Remus Lupin was a kind soul, but very quiet. When he was involved with his three brother-like friends, he was a little more outgoing. That was a side you rarely saw, but you knew it existed. But, for the most part, he only said what he needed to say, and always said it with a little more kindness than he needed to.
“You can’t die,” Sirius finally responded to you, pulling his feet off the table. “Who else is going to help me with my Divination assignments?” You smiled and rolled your eyes.
“That’s all I mean to you? Divination tutoring? Once we’re done with school, you’re just going to throw me to the wayside?” you teased. “I see how it is.”
Sirius snickered and winked. “That’s the plan, love.” You huffed.
“Rude, Sirius.” James joked. “She’s useful sometimes.” You laughed as you pulled one of your books towards you.
“Thanks, James. That makes me feel so much better.” James smiled and nodded, chuckling to himself. Peter pointed something out to the two boys, diverting their attention from you. So, you skimmed over your assigned reading for the evening, and quietly absorbed some of the information in front of you.
About twenty minutes later, Remus shifted in his seat and handed his book to Sirius. He muttered something to his friend and chuckled, then returned back to his post at the end of the table. You watched the interaction, smiling. Remus eyed his book, his shining hazel eyes skimming over the lines. His brow furrowed ever so slightly as he studied the content.
Then, Remus lifted his gaze, locking his eyes on yours. You froze for a moment, honestly not knowing what to do. He was too far away to just strike up a conversation with, but he was staring at you for too long to ignore. So, you did the only thing you could do. You closed your book and stood from your seat, then gathered the rest of your pile into your arms.
“I’ll see you guys later,” you mumbled to your friends as you stood. James, Peter, and Sirius all muttered their goodbyes as you slowly made your way to the entrance of the girl’s dorms. As you passed Remus, you gently patted his shoulder, allowing your hand to linger just a moment longer than you meant to, before disappearing through the archway.
Tumblr media
Remus’ eyes remained locked on the archway Y/N had passed through at least five minutes before. Sirius caught his friend transfixed by the ancient stonework and grinned.
“Just talk to her, mate. He’s not going to bite.” Sirius chuckled. “She’s probably the nicest person we know. Plus, the way she patted your shoulder as he left? If that wasn’t a crush confession, then I don’t know what is.”
Remus shrugged. “She never really talks to me—”
“Because you don’t talk to her! Maybe she thinks you don’t want to talk to her!” Sirius rolled his eyes as James scooted over to listen to the gossip. “Rem, you can’t sit in a corner all day and mope when the girl you fancy doesn’t strike up conversation.” James nodded beside his friend.
“Plus, you always have those headphones in your ears! Maybe she thinks you’re trying to avoid her altogether,” James added.
Remus’ eyes widened with realization. They were right. He wasn’t the most extroverted person. He was actually the complete opposite on the best of days. He was an observer, a listener, and the voice of reason when it came to his hooligan friends. It was no wonder Y/N didn’t reach out to him much. He realized that he wasn’t very approachable. And, if he was going to win Y/N over, he needed to try to be at least a little friendly.
“Just talk to her, mate. Next time you see her in the common room, or in the hall, ask her how she is. Or as her if she needs help studying! I know she’s been struggling lately,” James offered. Remus huffed.
“Oh, and I’m going to take dating advice from you?” Remus asked, rolling his eyes. “How’s everything with Lily going?”
Sirius shook his head at his friend. “Don’t be stubborn. We all know James is Prince Charming and Lily is just playing hard to get.” The rebellious friend smiled. “Just try it. She’s not going to hurt you.” Remus finally nodded, agreeing to follow his friend’s advice. He just hoped it wouldn’t bite him in the ass.
Tumblr media
You buried your face in your Potions class notes, praying that you would remember enough to pass the exam in two days. There was very little hope that you were going to remember even a fraction of what you had learned that very day, let alone what you had learned over the last month. Plus, your OWLs were coming up soon, and having additional exams to study for was just unfair.
“You look stressed,” a soft voice announced from your right. You twisted in your seat and spotted Remus leaning over your shoulder from behind the couch. It was the closest you could ever remember being to your young friend for any length of time, and it was making your body react in so many ways. His oversized sweater was hovering centimeters from your bare arm as he scanned over your face. Then, he sat down beside you on the tattered red couch and smiled. “You’ve obviously been studying too long.”
Your eyes landed on the headphones that were dangling from one of his ears as you nodded. “Yeah, but I need to remember this. If half of these potions were on the test, I wouldn’t know where to begin! I mean, if I have my book beside me, I can make anything. I’m just abysmal at remembering ingredients.” You sighed, slamming your book shut. “I just don’t know what to do.”
Remus chuckled softly. “Sounds like you need to take a break and think of a different strategy.” You snapped your gaze to his and tilted your head. “But I have two days until—”
“I know. I’m taking the test too, Y/N.” Remus interrupted softly. “But I think you need to take a breath and not think about Potions class for a little while.” He smiled, then tried to change the subject. “What else have you been up to today? Other than school I mean.” You shook your head.
“Nothing exciting. James asked me if I wanted to help him flood the Slytherin Common Room this weekend. I told him that I would leave that kind of thing to the experts.” You rolled your eyes and laughed. Remus laughed with you. You eyed his headphones again, which were still plugged into his right ear. “What are you listening to? You’re always listening to something.”
Remus shrugged, then picked up the other small earbud. He offered it to you with a smile. “Shinedown. They’re one of my favorite bands.” You took the earbud and placed it into your left ear, leaning a little closer to Remus to you wouldn’t tug his out.
“I’ve never heard of them.”
Remus smiled. “They’re a muggle band that’s been around for a little while. Their sound has evolved a little over the years, but I like all of their work. It’s basically modern rock.” He slipped his cell phone out of his pocket, a piece of technology that had only been permitted at Hogwarts two years before. “If you like rock, you’ll like them.” He turned up the volume just a little so you would hear it better.
After a minute, you started to sway your head to the rhythm. They were good. You weren’t picky about music, enjoying a little bit of everything. But, especially lately, you hadn’t had the time to listen to any. You had been too involved with passing that damn class to have any other hobbies.
You scooted a little closer to Remus until your legs nearly touched. You could smell mint tea on him, along with the subtle scent of his shampoo. The scent, the closeness, the hum of the music, it was all so calming. You closed your eyes for a moment and let your body relax.
“I take it you like them?” Remus barely whispered. You nodded, keeping your eyes closed.
“I guess I never realized how much music relaxes me. It’s been a while since I’ve even thought about listening to anything.” You opened your eyes finally, your gaze landing on his. “Thank you.” Remus smiled at your words.
“You know, I got an Outstanding in Potions last year. I’m happy to help you study. I mean, if that’s okay with you. I know some people need to study alone.” His cheeks reddened against the dim light of the fireplace. You couldn’t help but smile.
“You would do that?” Remus nodded.
“Of course. All you have to do is ask.” You peered over at your book, then back at Remus.
“I’ll just have to take you up on that.” Remus smiled and nodded, then let out a deep sigh.
“Alright, then. But, later. I’m not going to let you look in that book for at least another thirty minutes. I don’t want to have to reconstruct your brain if it falls out of your ears.” You both laughed, leaning a little closer to each other. Your head fell onto Remus’ shoulder, and his head leaned against yours. Your stomach fluttered at the connection.
The song changed, and the two of you listened in silence. You tapped your fingers against your thigh to the slow rhythm. I wish you’d open up for me, ‘cause I wanna know you Amaryllis. The words reminded you of Remus, and how you ached to know the shy handsome young man. Lifting your head, you turned to Remus, who furrowed his brow in confusion.
“Why don’t we talk more often?” you practically blurted. Remus seemed caught off guard by your question, backing up a bit. Then, he let out a long breath and bit his lip.
“I’m just not that much of a talker. And, even if I do, I—” He paused, thinking about his next words carefully. “I haven’t had to talk to someone I like as more than a friend.” His words were soft, but still hit you like a freight train. More than a friend? Remus liked you as more than a friend? That was something you never thought you would hear, no matter how much you wished it were the truth. And, now that it was out in the open, you didn’t really know what to do next.
Remus noticed your mental struggle and frowned. “I’m sorry, Y/N. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable—”
“I’m not. I just didn’t expect to ever hear that from you.” You smiled over at Remus. “But I’m glad I did.” Remus perked up at your words. “Because I feel the same way, I think.” You chewed on your lower lip. “I mean, I don’t really know a whole lot about you, even thought I’ve been your friend for years.” You babbled for a little bit before finally freezing, glancing up at a stunned Remus.
Remus reached over slowly, placing his hand on yours. “Well, you can get to know me. And I can get to know you. I’m just sorry I wasn’t more open towards you before.” He shook his head. “I’m not great with conversation.”
You giggled. “Well, you’re the one who walked up to me today. So, I’d call that progress.” The song in your ear changed yet again, starting an upbeat, faster-paced tune that made your heart race a little. “You can help me with my studying, expose me to new music. I like what I’m hearing so far!” You danced a little where you sat, making the two of you laugh. Remus squeezed your hand.
“I think that sounds awesome.” He glanced over at the clock on the wall. “Well, I can’t let you look at the book for another twenty minutes.”
“Fine, then. How about you tell me a little more about yourself?” you asked with a smile. Remus nodded, blushing a little as he continued to hold your hand in his.

“Hey Rowan, where is Y/N?” Penny asked when Rowan walked over by herself to the group in the Great Hall.
“She is currently not at Hogwarts.” Rowan said, before realising it might make everyone worried. “I mean, she is at St. Mungo, visiting Jacob. Nothing bad happened to her.” She quickly said.
“Merlin's beard... For a moment I thought something happened to Y/N, Ro.” Tonks said, giving Rowan a small grin.
“Still, it is kind of sudden, don’t you think so?” Tulip pointed out. “When did she decide to go to Jacob in St. Mungo?”
“I believe last night. She got a letter from her mother and then she went to ask Dumbledore for permission to visit Jacob.” Rowan said. “It probably was important if she needed to be there today.”
“Only her mother sent her a letter? Not both her parents?” Bill asked.
“Her father seems to have a tough time dealing with… Well, everything that is happening in the family. So, he is sort of unable to visit Jacob or talk to Y/N as far as I know from Y/N.” Rowan said, looking slightly unsure if she got what you meant when you told her about it. “As for her mom, well, according to Y/N, things between her and her mom are still quite uneasy.”
“Of course, what do you expect? Her parents both told her the ability to see the future was rubbish and non-existing.” Tulip said, frowning.
“Not to mention, Y/N doesn’t really see her parents as her family.” Barnaby said honestly.
“Also, not surprising, knowing her parents also work for the Ministry of Magic. People in the Ministry are always too busy for anything…” Tulip muttered.
“Merlin, Tulip. Are you in a bad mood today?” Penny asked, looking slightly concerned at the Ravenclaw.
“I have detention with Snyde later… I'm really not looking forward to that...” Tulip said, shaking her head. “Just don’t mind me, all right?”
Tonks gave Tulip a weird look, wondering what was going on with her best friend. Then she looked at the rest of the group and put on a mischievous look. “So, I’ll be heading to Zonko’s later, does anybody need something from there?”
Bill, Rowan and Penny all shook their heads.
“I don’t think so?” Barnaby said, looking slightly unsure.
“If you could get me some Dungbombs, that would be great.” Tulip said, giving Tonks a small smile.
“You’ve got it, girl.” Tonks said with a grin, glad that her friend didn’t act completely off.
Charlie and Andre both walked over to the table with a grin on their faces.
“What have got you in such a good mood today?” Penny asked with a giggle.
“Oh, we are just excited about the Quidditch match of tonight.” Charlie said.
“It’s going to be the match of the year. Ravenclaw against Gryffindor.” Andre said with a grin. “You guys will watch our match, right?”
“Of course.” Penny smiled.
“We’ll be there to root for you.” Tonks said with wink.
“You better win when I come to watch your match, Andre Egwu.” Tulip said slightly amused.
“It might not be the easiest task, but Ravenclaw definitely has a shot against Gryffindor.” Andre said with a chuckle.
“Don’t get too cocky, Andre. I mean, Gryffindor has also trained hard for the match.” Charlie said amused.
“I have no doubt about that, but I suppose we will see who wins the match tonight.”
“At least your team plays fair compared to Slytherin.”
“They can be quite sneaky… Although, the match against Slytherin went pretty all right.”
“Yeah, they are probably worse to us, because of the Slytherin-Gryffindor rivalry.” Charlie shrugged.
Tonks leaned closer to Penny. “I bet they will keep talking about the Quidditch match until they have actually played the match.” She whispered.
“I suppose so.” Penny nodded. “I just wonder how things are with Y/N.”
You sat on a chair next to Jacob’s bed. Your mother had basically left when you had arrived, saying you could look after Jacob for a while. You were certain she was going to work for a few hours, not wanting to stop working just to make sure things were going all right with her son.
Jacob had seen you, but he didn’t say a word. You kind of expected him not to say anything, but after you heard he had spoken to a Healer and your mom, you kind of hoped he would say something to you as well.
“I wish you would tell me something about your time with R, Jacob.” You mumbled. “My vision suggested you have been driven insane… If you could just confirm it then I know you never meant to join the dark side… Also, you won't have to go to Azkaban if the Ministry knows you weren't in control of your actions.”
Of course, Jacob decided not to say a word. He just glanced at you before he began staring at the ceiling.
“Thanks for the help, Jacob.” You mumbled sarcastically. “Then again, I know you can’t help it. You barely spoke to anyone since you have been sent here.”
He once again looked at you, but he didn’t talk.
You sighed and then you stood up. “I will be right back. I’m getting some tea.” You told Jacob before you left his room.
You passed some other rooms on your way to get something to drink. From some rooms you could hear some screaming, from others you just didn’t hear anything. Still, it wasn’t pleasant to walk in this hallway. You knew the people in this hallway mostly had mental issues that needed to be treated. Well, if they could be treated.
“Pssst… Young lady.”
You blinked and stopped walking, seeing an old woman pointing at you. She was quite thin and she looked quite fragile. She kept her eyes closed, like she didn't want to open her eyes. “Are you talking to me?” You asked, thinking she might have mistaken you for a Healer.
“Of course. Who else is here?” The old woman said, like it was obvious she was talking to you.
You looked around and noticed you were indeed the only one there. "I think you might have mistaken me for someone else. I could look for a Healer if you need one."
"No, I was looking for you, not a Healer." She laughed softly. “You probably think, what does this crazy old woman want from me, but I think it would be good if you listen to me for a moment.”
You raised an eyebrow. Why would she be looking for you? You definitely didn't know her and she probably didn't even know who you were either. “I’m not sure if I’m supposed to talk to anyone besides my brother…”
“I’m pretty sure you have broken the rules before, Y/N.” She said with a grin.
You were surprised when she said your name. “You have heard of me?”
“Well, you are the younger sister of Jacob Y/L/N. Your name has come across here a few times, especially after his trial.”
Of course, the articles about the trial have mentioned your name multiple times. Your face was probably pretty known by now.
“Also, I have foreseen your arrival here. Your mother asked you to come and visit Jacob so she could work for a little while, isn’t that right?” The old woman said.
You were surprised once again. She couldn't have known that by reading an article... “Wait… Did you say you have foreseen my arrival here?”
“I did. I am a Seer after all. Just like you are.” She said with a smile. She opened her eyelids, which revealed two empty eye sockets. It was obvious why the woman was keeping her eyes closed. She was missing both her eyes! You were certain if a little child saw her opening her eyes, they would be terrified.
'Another Seer… What is she doing at St. Mungo?' She wanted to tell you something, you were sure of it. Why else did she ask you to listen to her?
“You are in danger, girl.” She told you. “This organisation, R, is after you. You really have to watch your back at all times. You don’t want to end up like me after all.”
You were certain she was an actual Seer. Who else would know about R? She wouldn’t have known it if she hadn’t heard the name somewhere else, probably in a vision. “What… What do you mean with ending up like you?”
“Well, have you heard about Personal Seers?”
Your eyes widened. “You… You were a personal Seer?”
“For almost four decades.” She nodded. “Why else do you think I am here? I’m still not over the whole thing. My mind isn’t what it was anymore. Then again, such things happen when someone has full control over you.”
“I know you are looking for more information about it, in order to prevent it from happening to you, Y/N. I wish there was a way to prevent yourself from becoming mad, but as far as I know, there is no cure for the experience.” The old woman said with a smile. “Although, I can definitely share my experience with you. Maybe you can use the information for something…”
You knew you would have to return to Jacob, but you couldn’t just say no to this. This was important to you and she could tell you a lot about being a Seer. Before you could answer her, a Healer walked over.
“Mrs. White, you shouldn’t be out of your room.” The Healer said. “And you definitely shouldn’t bother this young lady.”
“I can assure you I wasn’t bothering. I was just trying to give her some good advice.” The old woman, Mrs. White said.
“You know the rules…” The Healer said.
“But this young lady needs all the advice she could get. She is the one who is in danger of ending up in the same situation I was in.” Mrs. White said.
The Healer looked at you. “Are you Jacob’s younger sister?” She asked. You could see a hint of concern in her eyes
You nodded. “Yeah…” You said softly before you gave the Healer an apologetic smile. “I should probably head back to him, just in case…” You said, wanting to get away.
“Don’t take your own eyes out! I thought it would stop the visions, but they kept coming anyways!” Mrs. White said loudly enough for you to hear.
“Mrs. White!” The Healer scolded the older woman, thinking it would scare you.
“What? Like I said, she needs all the advice she can get.”
You just kept walking away, not sure what to think at this point.
“That was nice match to watch.” Penny said with a smile.
“I bet there is a party in the Common room right now.” Tulip said with a grin. “Maybe I could let you in to celebrate with all the Ravenclaws.”
“Sounds tempting.” Tonks said with a grin.
“You should come.” Tulip said. “It's a good way to forget the terrible detention with Snyde.”
“Was it really that terrible?” Penny asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Just because Snape seems to like you as student, doesn’t mean he likes the rest of us. Although, he wasn’t being nice to Snyde either.” Tulip shrugged. “We had to clean all the cauldrons.”
“Of course. He always seems to do that whenever people have detention.” Tonks said, rolling her eyes. “I’d rather work in the Kitchens, like Y/N has to do when she has to go to detention.”
“I’m not sure… Pitts isn’t the nicest either.” Tulip pointed out. “Then again, no one is nice in detention.”
“Maybe if you didn’t prank so much, you wouldn’t be in detention so often.” Penny said, shaking her head.
“But what is fun about that, Penny?” Tonks smirked, wrapping an arm around Penny’s shoulder.
“We need to have some fun when we are here. Besides, Hogwarts would get really boring without our pranks.” Tulip said amused, wrapping an arm around Penny’s other shoulder.
Penny was about to say something, until she saw someone familiar. “Hey, isn’t that Y/N?”
Tulip and Tonks both looked at the same direction as Penny and they both looked surprised.
“I think that really is Y/N.” Tonks said.
“I didn’t think she would be back by now.” Tulip said honestly. “Let’s ask her about how things were going with Jacob.”
“Do you think she wants to talk about that now? Maybe something happened and she has to let it all sink in.” Penny said, feeling slightly concerned.
“Well, if something happened, she probably shouldn’t be left alone with her thoughts, don’t you think so?” Tonks looked at them both.
“We’ll just go over to her and ask how things went. If she doesn’t want to talk about the details, we can ask her another time.” Tulip suggested.
“Sounds good to me.” Penny said honestly.
The Hufflepuffs and the Ravenclaw were about to walk over when suddenly a guy walks over to you. They all stopped walking and blinked for a moment.
“Is that the guy who has been bothering her?” Penny asked.
“I don’t know, I mean, we have never seen someone bothering Y/N.” Tonks said.
“I’m pretty sure this is not the guy who has been bothering Y/N. That guy was older and this is Jae Kim from our year.” Tulip explained.
“You know, I haven’t seen you in detention for a while.” Jae said with a grin. “Did you actually manage to talk yourself out of detention?”
You grinned lightly. “Some stuff happened and they tried to make my punishment lighter.” You explained.
Jae nodded. “I see. So, it’s because of the whole Seer thing?”
“Yeah, that’s right.”
“That makes sense. It sounds like a lot to deal with at once. Still, detention is less interesting without you. I mean, who else has almost driven Pitts mad by acting like you enjoyed detention in the Kitchens?” Jae laughed.
“Well, you probably will still see me there sometimes. I mean, they just made my punishment lighter. It's not like they said I don't have to go to detention at all.”
“I wish they would consider to lighten my punishment, but then I probably can’t make good deals with people anymore.”
“Well, I suppose your stuff is supposed to fully legal if you want a lighter punishment.” You said amused.
“Exactly, and that won’t make me able to make good deals with people here in Hogwarts.” Jae grinned.
“That would be a shame. Where else would students get their rare goods from if you aren’t able to get those goods for them?”
“You have got the point of my whole business, Y/N.” He said amused. “Well, it was good seeing you outside of detention. Now, I have some work to do.” He said with a wink before he walked away.
“You never told us you were acquainted with Jae Kim.”
You turned around and saw Tulip, Penny and Tonks walking over to you. “Oh, Jae and I know each other from detentions in the Kitchens.”
“Oh, that’s true. Jae also has detention a lot. I just didn’t know you two knew each other.” Tonks said.
“We’re friends, I guess. At least, we sort of try to make detentions with Pitts a little more interesting.” You said slightly amused. “Besides, it’s not like I never saw Jae before. After all, he is in our year.”
“That’s true, we sort of know who is in our year and who is not.” Penny pointed out.
“I suppose that’s true.” Tulip said and then she gave you a concerned look. “Anyways, how was your time at St. Mungo’s Hospital?” She asked.
You frowned slightly. “Well… It wasn’t very pleasant, that’s for sure… My mom basically left once I arrived, so she could go to work. I tried to talk to Jacob, since he apparently has talked not too long ago, but of course, he didn’t speak when I was there.” You sighed.
“Sounds pretty awful…” Penny said honestly.
“It was a weird experience.” You said with a shrug.
“Did anything else happen?” Tulip asked.
You nodded. “Well, sort of…”
“Sort of?” Tonks looked slightly confused. "What do you mean?"
“Well, it was kind of a strange experience. I mean, I should have expected to see some weird things, since Jacob is in the ward of mental issues, but it was just strange... You see, I came across a woman, who got my attention.” You said softly.
“What woman? What was strange about this woman?” Tulip asked.
“Well, she was an old woman and she didn’t have her eyes anymore…” You said.
“She was blind?” Penny asked.
“She literally didn’t have eyes, like you were staring into empty eye sockets.” You explained.
Penny made a face like she didn’t find the image she had of this woman pleasant.
“Anyways, she suddenly called out to me. At that point I didn’t notice she anything strange, because her eyes were closed. I thought she probably mistook me for somebody else. I mean, I didn't know her and she would only kind of know who I was because of the Daily Prophet."
“So, what made the encounter with this lady so strange?” Tonks asked. “Besides the missing eyes.”
“She was a Seer.” You said seriously.
“A Seer?” Penny said surprised.
“Can Seers sense other Seers? I mean, that would be a cool ability.” Tonks said.
“Not that I know of.” You said.
“Anyways, that’s not the point. Apparently, she has been a Personal Seer for almost four decades…!” You told them.
The three of them looked surprised, not expecting you to say that.
“Wait, so the older lady said she was a Personal Seer and she suddenly came over to you?” Tonks asked.
“That definitely wasn't a coincidence…” Tulip said honestly. “She must have seen or sensed something that involved you, Y/N.”
“Well, she basically told me she had foreseen my arrival." You mumbled, frowning a bit. "She seemed to be sure I am in danger of becoming a Personal Seer, saying there is no cure for becoming mad because she was still in St. Mungo’s to be cured.”
“There is no way we are just going to let you get taken away by R and let you become their Personal Seer.” Tulip said determined.
You wished it was as easy as Tulip made it sound. Perhaps you were already doomed. Maybe you couldn’t change the future…
“So, the Yule Ball is coming up and we probably should prepare ourselves for that.” Penny said, hoping she could lift the mood.
Everyone was stressed about something. Some of them were worried about the curse that trapped students inside paintings and others were worried about what R wanted. You were worried about both these things and there was also Tulip who was confused about her feelings.
Andre nodded. “Yes, we definitely should prepare ourselves for it. How about I help the guys with picking out a good outfit for the ball?”
“Why can’t we pick out our own outfits?” Charlie asked, raising an eyebrow.
“No offense, Charlie, but I think I have the best taste in fashion here.” Andre said. “And you want to look good, don’t you?”
Charlie rolled his eyes, grinning slightly. “Well, fine. I guess you have the most knowledge about fashion here.”
“Great, then I will help the girls with their outfits.” Penny said with a grin.
Tonks let out a fake gasp. “What? Don’t you trust us to pick out something good either? I’m hurt, Penny.”
“Come on, Tonks.” Penny rolled her eyes.
Tonks laughed. “Relax, Pens. I’m pretty sure you are the most suited person to help us out with finding the right outfits for us girls.”
“I’m not sure if I’m going…” Ben mumbled softly.
Andre looked at Ben and raised an eyebrow. “What? Why not?”
“What if I can’t find a date?” Ben asked. “Besides, I’m not the best at dancing either…”
“Nonsense, Ben! Believe me, everything will turn out to be okay.” Andre said.
“What if I go with you, Ben?” Penny suggested.
Everyone looked at Penny surprised.
“What?” Penny asked, looking a little confused by everyone’s reaction.
“Penny, you don’t have to go with me out of pity…” Ben said softly.
“But I want to.” Penny said with a smile.
Ben looked even more surprised. “Well, i-if you really want to, then I would like to go with you as well.” He said blushing.
“Great, then it is a date.” Penny said with a smile.
“It seems like you will have to get a nice suit after all, Ben. Especially because you have a great date.” Andre said amused.
“Well, I suppose Ben is the first one of the guys to score a date.” Charlie said.
“Wrong, Charlie. I already asked someone.” Andre said with a big grin.
Charlie’s jaw almost dropped. “What? Since when?”
“Yesterday.” He said amused.
“I guess I have to hurry before everyone is taken.” Charlie said.
“Oh please, I’m pretty sure many people would love to go with you.” Andre said honestly. “Who doesn’t want to go to the ball with a Gryffindor Seeker?”
“Probably most Slytherins.” Rowan pointed out.
“You have got a point…” Andre said honestly.
“Y/N, who do you want to be your date for the ball?” Penny asked.
Everyone looked at you, waiting for an answer.
“Oh… Well, I do have someone in mind, but I’m not going to tell you yet.” You said slightly amused.
“So unfair, Y/N.” Tonks said slightly amused. “But then again, I have no clue who I should go with.”
“Maybe she isn’t saying it because it is one of us.” Tulip smirked.
“Maybe, but maybe not. I’m not saying anything.” You said, smirking slightly.
“I suppose we should just focus on finding dates before everyone is taken.” Rowan pointed out.
“You are right, Rowan Khanna. We should begin looking.” Tulip said with a sigh. “Well then, Tonks, let’s look around, shall we?”
“All right, let’s do that.” Tonks said with a grin.
Tonks and Tulip left the group and everyone seemed to be thinking about something.
“Maybe we should also start looking for dates like them?” Rowan suggested, feeling slightly unsure.
You shrugged. “I don’t know. I mean, it depends on how you want to find a date, right?”
“Y/N is right. It depends on how you want to find someone.” Bill agreed.
“I’m pretty sure we all be able to find someone for the ball; however, I really need to start studying for my O.W.L.s. All the stuff that is going on is making it hard for me to study.” You said when you stood up.
“Oh, if you need help with studying, I can come along.” Rowan said. “I need to be studying as well.”
“It’s probably better if I do the same thing.” Barnaby said. “I mean, it takes a bit longer for me to understand everything I have to know.”
“All right, let’s go to the library then.” You said with a smile.
Bill also stood up. “I also have to study for my N.E.W.T.s, I will come along too.”
“Great! Andre, Penny, Charlie and Ben, do you also want to come along?” You asked.
“No, thanks, Y/N. I have something else to do.” Andre said.
“Yeah, me too.” Penny said honestly.
“Maybe later.” Charlie said. “I promised to visit Hagrid.”
“I promised Flitwick to help some first years with Charms…” Ben said softly.
You nodded. “All right, I guess we will see you guys later.” You waved goodbye to them before you walked towards the library with Bill, Rowan and Barnaby.
A few nights later, Rowan had noticed you weren’t in your bed anymore. She looked around the dormitory, wondering where you were. She didn’t want to assume something bad had happened, but she also knew about this vision where you would encounter R. She quickly got out of the dormitory, thinking you might have gone to the Common Room. However, when she reached the Common Room, she still couldn’t find you. Why would you be out of the Common Room at night? She slowly began to panic more, wondering you might have had another vision and rushed out of the dormitory to prevent it from happening. Just like you did when you had the vision about Bill.
She considered to call a teacher for help, but she wasn’t sure if that was a good idea. Maybe a Prefect had seen you? Perhaps Bill has already seen you. She thought about warning the others, thinking they might know where you were. It wasn’t until she laid eyes on a letter that was left behind on one of the couches.
   ‘Dear Y/N Y/L/N,
It would be easier if you just turn yourself in to us. We do not wish to harm you, for your gift is truly important to us. We promise we will take good care of you as long as you serve us as our Personal Seer. We even promise to bring Jacob back for you, so you will have your brother back.
 -R’
Rowan immediately feared the worst. Were you looking for them on your own? Did you turn yourself in? She couldn’t do nothing with this information. She needed to know where you were, thinking you might be doing something dangerous.
“Rowan?”
She turned around to see you walk into the Common Room. “Y/N! You are still here!”
You raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
“The letter! I thought…”
“You thought I would just turn myself in?”
“I… Well…”
You sighed softly. “Rowan, I’m not going to turn myself in. That would be stupid. Besides, I was just out because I was asked to help the other Prefects when they thought they saw something suspicious.”
Rowan stared for a moment. Then she sighed in relief, glad you didn’t do anything dangerous. “Thank Merlin… I just couldn’t help but to think about that one vision you had…”
“Sorry if I gave you a heart attack, Rowan. I should have put the letter away before getting out of the Common Room.” You said honestly. “I probably should give this to Madam Rakepick tomorrow. I promised her to keep her informed about the situation.”
“Wouldn’t it be better to give it directly to Professor Dumbledore?”
“Maybe, but I think it is easier to reach Dumbledore via Rakepick, I mean, Dumbledore is a busy man.” You mumbled honestly.
“Let’s go back to bed, shall we? We have a lot of things to do tomorrow.” You suggested.
Rowan nodded. “All right.” She said when you both headed back to the dormitory.

eggsy x kingsman!reader with number 50? 🍬
Tumblr media
Yay! I didn’t know I’d have SO much fun with this one! I want to continue it tbh but I have another 1 to do tonight lol so I had to stop myself from going to crazy. Hope you enjoy my sweet anon!
“Normally I’d say no, but I’m on my 14th candy cane, so why not?”
Tonight was the night you’d been dreading for weeks… the day before Christmas. Now, it wasn’t like you hated Christmas or anything– you actually liked it as much as you liked anything else, but this year things were a bit different. For starters it was your first year as a Kingsman agent. You were fairly fresh to the program having only 5 months under your belt, and you were still embarrassingly nervous around your crush coworker Eggsy.
But of course you were… With a jawline like that the boy certainly got some looks and you absolutely weren’t the only one to have succumbed to that cheeky smile. Actually, basically everyone but Roxy seemed to be infatuated with him. Which to be clear was a little irritating, but just because you two had become fast friends didn’t mean there was anything else going on between you. Even though you sorta wished there had been…
Tonight you had on a little black dress, and you even wore heels. Tonight you put makeup on, and were wearing dark red lipstick. You even did your fucking hair. Why? Well Roxy was very stern in her email and nearly demanded everyone look nice. This was the first mixer since Statesman and Kingsman integrated, and with all the new recruits– well, impressions really mattered.
Plus… you had some killer legs since training and there was no reason Eggsy shouldn’t see them.
Just… lift up your hand. Just– knock. Ring the doorbell… something, you begged quietly under your breath, lifting your hand and almost doing what your mouth commanded.
You scrunched your nose exhaling as a cloud of white hovered before your lips, it really was cold, maybe a dress wasn’t the best idea after all… “Ugh.” was all you could say as one last whine escaped your lips.
Finally you lifted your hand and pressed that tiny white button… You could hear the buzz ringing throughout the flat, barely heard over the music and muffled voices inside. You could hear as a quiet shuffle of foot steps came closer towards the door… as a hand grabbed the handle, and turned knob.
For some reason you just knew it would be Eggsy, and when that door swung open you were right. The second his face slid to yours his lips parted lightly, and honestly you’d never seen him look so cute. When he spoke his voice was smooth like silk, and he didn’t seem to be blinking… it was like he couldn’t take his eyes off of you and you would have been lying if you said you didn’t love it.
“Y/n… Hi,” he pulled his mouth shut with his tongue, biting his lip lightly between his teeth and blinking back the look that spread so beautifully over his face. “You look so beautiful.”
You looked to your heels– which for the record were already starting to bother you– trying not to turn red as you tucked a stray strand behind your ear. “You look pretty good yourself… now you gonna let me in?”
“Oh fuck, yeah, course… get in here– you must be freezin’.” Eggsy stepped to the side holding the door for you, he lightly touched your arm as you passed and with the embrace you felt instantly warm.
As you walked by you could feel that his eyes were glued to you, and when you pulled your long jacket off you could have sworn he took a breath in. It almost looked like he wanted to say something in the shot moments to follow… but he was clearly having a hard time voicing anything at all.
It was strange to see such a charming man behave so adorably flustered, his cheeks a soft shade of rose to match your own. You smiled bashfully and just when you thought you’d found the words Harry walked forward; placing his hand to Eggsy’s shoulder and requesting his assistance in the kitchen.
It was pretty shit timing, but it wasn’t like you wouldn’t see him again. The house was only so big wasn’t it?
Except now you’d been there for nearly 2 hour and you still hadn’t seen him again. It wasn’t exactly something you wanted to admit, but it was more than a little disappointing. You really only knew Roxy and Eggsy here, and as amazing as Rox was you couldn’t help but be secretly searching for him around every corner and in every face.
Just when you’d given up hope you heard that laugh, that sweet boyish laugh, and instinctively your eyes shot towards it; locking to his immediately. By the looks of it he had already been staring at you, and at that realization you almost dropped the glass you’d been holding tightly only seconds before.
You watched as he continued talking to Merlin and Ginger, his eyes still transfixed on yours. He raised a hand, placing it lightly to his elbow, it was clear he was attempting to break away– that he was ending his conversation, and it was obvious by the way he gaze at you now that you were his destination.
When he reached you, Roxy smiled slyly… noticing the way you looked at him, and he at you. She stirred her glass with a soft nod still watching your eyes locked together as intently as ever.
“Eggsy! Lovely for you to join us… Oh shoot, I think Merlin is…” she paused looking behind Eggsy quickly with a grin as an almost too obvious nod escaped. “Yeah, he’s definitely calling for  me… I’ll talk to you guys later, okay? Have fun! Okay, bye!”
And she was off… The two of you let small awkward laughs escape before the tension eased off your shoulders like dirt down a drain. It was strange because you were so damn nervous any time you were around him, yet also so comfortable… so calm, and before you knew it the conversation was flowing so fluidly it was a wonder you ever stumbled on your words before.
At this point you were already about three drinks deep as well, but if anyone knew how to hold their liquor it was you, or at least you thought so… Okay, maybe you didn’t because now that you thought about it you were standing pretty close to him…
Oh god, he smells so good… No. Stop. Think about something else. Literally… anything else.
“Wanna play a game?” you asked suddenly, completely interrupting him mid sentence. Eggsy didn’t seem to mind at all though, in fact he just seemed intrigued and very much into the idea of winning something.
“A game?” he tilted his chin forward, pursing his lips as the tip of his tongue traced the edge of his teeth, curiosity reaching new heights. “What d’you have in mind, luv?”
You tried to ignore that wave you got when he called you that, but the liquor was definitely making it harder. You were a Kingsman for a reason though, and they did call it ‘liquid courage’ for a reason…
After crossing your arms, and leaning closer to his ear you nudged your chin towards the opposite corner of the room towards the Statesman; signaling him to look. “Whoever steals that belt buckle off of Tequila is the winner.”
Eggsy raised his brows, as an even wider smile spread, tossing Tequila a long stare over his shoulder. The cowboy nodded affectionately than raised his glass to his lips taking a hefty swig before turning to face Champ, Ginger, and Harry once more.
“Bet I can get it first…” you added in a throaty whisper close to his ear.
He cocked his chin lightly, his eyes dancing between yours and your lips as that cheeky smile spread. “Normally, I’d say no t’that cause trust me– Tequila ain’t one you wanna fight, but I’m on my 14th candy cane, so why the fuck not?”
Eggsy tossed back the rest of his drink in one gulp, took a step forward then turned back to face you with hand outstretched. You looked from his hands to his eyes again, and then with a smile from ear to ear you slid your fingers between his.
The second your hands touched you felt a pulse run through your body. It was tingly, electric, and made your knees weak– which was just about the last thing you wanted to admit out loud, but whether you said it or not, it was true. And if not for the way he turned back once more, sending you that oh so sweet wink as he squeeze your hand tighter in his, you’d have thought you were dreaming.
You weren’t sure how this would pan out, or if either of you would actually steal that damn thing– but something told you no matter what happened here, you’d both end up as winners.

Pairing: Draco x muggleborn!Reader (ft. Madam Pomfrey and Dumbledore)
Content/Warnings: Violence; angst; fluff
This is set during The Order of the Phoenix.
Words: 1482
A/N: Another prompt for you guys! This was a request from anon for 29 and 31 with Draco, I hope you like! I queued this (first time for everything!) since I’m gone all day and won’t have time to post. I’ll only be on mobile and even then not that much, so enjoy and I’ll see you guys Sunday!
Prompts are open!
You were trapped. You knew it, and so did the seventh year Gryffindors, who had grabbed you when you were on your way to dinner from the library. The rest of the Slytherins probably thought you were still in the library, and with everyone at dinner, no one would come looking. It gave them enough time to rough you up a little.
“Even the muggleborn’s a Death Eater,” One sneered. They hadn’t even bothered putting you in a full body bind - after all, there are three of them, and one of you. Not to mention you’re only a fifth year. You didn’t have a chance, and you all knew it. “Guess being in Slytherin just takes all the humanity out of you.”
“I’m not a Death Eater,” You said with a snarl, doing your best not to wince when they slammed you into the wall. “You want proof? Check my arm.”
Another grabbed your left sleeve, yanking it upwards to reveal smooth skin and no mark. “She’s clean, guys,” The third said. “Are you sure -” “Only a matter of time, right?” The tallest one said, grabbing your wrist in an iron grip. You knew it was going to bruise later. “I mean, Slytherin is basically where they train all the Death Eaters. Isn’t that right?”
“We’re not all evil!” You said, wishing you had your wand. But they had tossed it away, and it was several meters out of your reach. “Aren’t you high and mighty Gryffindors supposed to be the good guys?”
“Why do you think we’re doing this?” The second one asked, twirling his wand between his fingers. “Got to nip it at the bud, right? Maybe we should give her a taste of her own medicine? What’s that signature torture spell that You-Know-Who uses? Oh yeah!”
“Those are illegal, are you crazy?” The third said, grabbing the second’s arm. “We could all get sent to Azkaban!”
“What, like the snake’s nest should be? Let’s put them on the receiving end for once!” The first one snarled as you edged down the wall towards your wand. “Where do you think you’re going?”
“Dinner?” You squeaked hopefully.
“I don’t think so,” He said, grabbing your upper arm tightly. “We’ll show you what it’s like to be the victim for once.”
“I can’t do this, guys,” The third said, backing away. “I’m going, forget it.” He sprinted off, not giving the other two a chance to go after him, and you couldn’t help but notice your wand looked a little closer than before.
“Fine, we’ll do it ourselves,” The second one muttered. “Silencio!”
You knew what the spell did. It prevented someone from speaking, and you and a sinking suspicion you knew why it was cast. Your mouth moved soundlessly in protest, but when they hit you with the Cruciatus curse, your body arched in pain. It was like fire and ice, writhing through your veins until all you could feel was pain, pain, pain, and you would have died if it meant it would stop. And then it did, the ache of the spell settling in your bones but the real fire gone. You were still silent, taking gasps of air from where you had fallen to the ground.
“Someone’s coming!” One hissed, causing the other to jerk his head down the corridor.
“Let’s go!” He hissed, and they sprinted off, leaving you alone. The footfalls faded and you were left to hear the muffled conversations from the Great Hall. Summoning your strength, you heaved yourself over to your wand. There’s no way you could go into the hall looking like this. And considering you couldn’t speak, you were stuck with one option. Wordless magic. You had never cast a wordless Patronus before, but you supposed there was no better time to try. Hopefully it would understand what you wanted and bring Draco to you.
Shutting your eyes, you concentrated on your happiest memory, flicking your wand. It glowed faintly, but nothing happened. Furrowing your brow, you tried again. You had to do this. Still, nothing happened. Third times the charm, your mum used to say. You hoped she was right. You summoned the last scraps of concentration and willpower, channeling them into summoning a Patronus, and moments later a brilliant fox erupted out of the end of your wand, trotting lithely around you. You attempted to communicate what you wanted to it via hand wiggling and eye contact, and it turned and walked off. You hoped it understood.
It seemed like hours and moments had passed when you heard rapid footfalls and the glow of your fox Patronus re-entered your vision. “Y/N!” Relief rushed through your veins as you heard Draco’s voice. “What happened?”
He knelt down beside you, eyes worried and angry. You forced yourself to sit up, feeling warmth seep down the side of your face. “Gryffindor boys,” You managed to get out. “Seventh years. Cruciatus.”
“Merlin,” He gasped, supporting you as you sat. “You’re bleeding!”
Your hand went up to find the warm wetness on your head - you must have hit it when you fell. Slowly, you could feel some strength returning. “Help me back to the dungeons.”
“You need to go to the hospital wing, Y/N!” Draco insisted. “Who did this to you? Did he touch you?”
“What do you think?” You rasped out, reaching over to pull up the left sleeve of your robes. Already an angry, dark purple bruise had began to form where one had grabbed you. “Upper arm too. No hospital wing.”
“You can barely talk! Please, Y/N, I can’t take care of you like this,” He pleaded. After a long moment, you slowly nodded.
“It’s still dinner,” You said, “We can walk.”
“You can barely sit!”
“Walk,” You insisted.
Draco gave a heavy sigh before nodding. Pressing a kiss to your forehead, he helped you slowly pull yourself to your feet. You sagged against his side, legs wobbling like jello and throbbing with pain, and he took most of your weight. “Are you sure you want to walk?”
“Yes.” Gasping, you forced your legs to move, feeling them steady a little as you continued to walk. “It hurts.”
“I know,” He said softly. “Who did this to you, Y/N?”
“Two seventh year Gryffindors. One ran off before they did it,” You said shortly, pushing all your willpower into keeping your legs moving. The pain was no where near as bad as it was during the curse, but everything still ached as if every bone in your body had been shattered. “I don’t know their names.”
“Could you point them out?” He asked, pausing to let you rest. You were almost halfway there at this point, and it was only sheer stubbornness that kept you moving.
“Yes,” You confirmed. He ceased his questioning after that, helping you when necessary as you continued what seemed to be the endless journey to the hospital wing. “Dumbledore won’t care,” You mumbled as the two of you finally reached the hospital wing.
“What?” Draco said, glancing at you. “He should.”
“We’re Slytherin, Draco,” You said, as he helped ease you on to a bed. “He doesn’t care what happens to us.”
Draco gave a bitter snort. “You’re right, of course. I wish you weren’t. I’m going to go find Madam Pomfrey. Just stay here, okay?”
“Please don’t leave,” You begged. “What if they come back?”
“Okay. Okay, I won’t leave,” He said instantly, sitting beside you to rub soothing circles on your back. “We can just wait, then.”
“There are wards, Mr. Malfoy, you don’t have to wait,” Madam Pomfrey said as she bustled inside, only to stop dead when she saw you. “Great Merlin, Y/L/N, what happened?”
You gave a shrug, to tired to speak, and left Draco to explain while she began to heal you. You must’ve fallen asleep sometime in the middle, because the next thing you knew you were laid in a comfortable bed, a warm figure nestled on his side beside you. You could hear two people arguing softly, but you couldn’t make out words for several moments.
“…not leaving, Headmaster. She needs me,” Draco was saying.
“Malfoy, I cannot leave you unattended with a female student. Now I’m ordering you -”
“I’m staying here,” Draco said firmly. “If you have a problem, you can try explaining to my father why a Slytherin was given a Cruciatus curse by two Gryffindors.”
There was a long pause, followed by a heavy, frustrated sigh. “Fine. Any funny business, Draco, and your father will certainly be hearing something.”
“I’m just here to keep her safe, that’s all,” Draco said, noticing you were awake. “Go back to sleep, Y/N, you need your rest.” Nodding, you rested your face against his chest, thankful that he had won the argument to stay as you drifted off to sleep.

Philosopher’s Stone: Episode Two
McGonagall and Harry are in her classroom when Dumbledore walks in. McGonagall and Harry are deep in conversation as he approaches them.
McGonagall: (talking to Harry) So Wood will teach you the basics…
Dumbledore: (interrupting) Minerva?
McGonagall: (still talking to Harry) And your broom will be coming soon…
Dumbledore: (interrupting) Minerva? Knock, knock.
McGonagall: (to Dumbledore) I'm talking to Potter.
Dumbledore: I know you are. Knock, knock.
McGonagall: (to Harry) We’re going to go with a Nimbus 2000…
Dumbledore: Knock, knock!
Snape is walking by and notices them. Curious, he enters McGonagall’s classroom as well. McGonagall sighs and finally turns to Dumbledore.
McGonagall: (sighs) Who's there?
Dumbledore: Buddha.
McGonagall: Buddha who?
Dumbledore slaps a slice of bread and a stick of butter on McGonagall’s desk
Dumbledore: Buddha this bread for me, won't you?
Dumbledore and Snape laugh. The Camera zooms in on McGonagall’s unamused face.
McGonagall: Great.
Dumbledore: I, I need something to wipe my hand.
McGonagall: Now there's, there's butter on my desk.
Dumbledore: That was helping. It was classic.
Snape: I got a knock-knock joke.
Dumbledore: No... God.
Snape: Please, please, please, please, please let me.
Dumbledore: Alright.
Snape: Knock, knock.
Dumbledore: Who's there?
Snape: Death Eaters.
Dumbledore: Death Eaters Wh—
Before Dumbledore can finish, Snape slaps him on the face.
Snape: We will ask the questions!
Dumbledore: What the hell was that?
Dumbledore starts to slap Snape.
Snape: What are you doing? Stop it.
Dumbledore: You like that?
Dumbledore continues slapping Snape.
Snape: C'mon. Mine was a part of my hilarious joke.
Dumbledore: Mine was retribution. Ok. No more knock-knock jokes. That's it.
Harry: Ding Dong.
Dumbledore’s face lights up.
Dumbledore: (to Harry) Who's there?
Harry: Death Eaters.
Dumbledore: (to Snape) Snape, get the door.
Snape: I'm not answering it.
Dumbledore: Answer the door.
Harry: Ding dong.
Snape: No way, it's Death Eaters.
Harry: Ding dong.
Snape: I'm not answering that. You answer it.
Dumbledore: I'm not gonna answer it
Snape: I'm not gonna answer it, it's death eaters.
Harry slaps Snape in the face.
Harry: Death Eaters will wait for no one!
Dumbledore laughs. The Camera zooms in on Snape’s face.
Snape: It's true.
[Opening Credits - Upbeat music]
[Hogwarts: A Magical Workplace]
The Camera cuts to Dumbledore and Quirrell inside Dumbledore’s office. Dumbledore sits at his desk, and Quirrell sits in a chair across from him.
Dumbledore: Quirrell is sitting in my office. He has been a teacher here for a couple of weeks now, and he’s kind of gotten the lay of the land a little bit. And now he wants to know what I think.
Quirrell: T-t-the temp agency w-w-ants to know what you th-th-think…
Dumbledore: Shall we? FIrst up, proficiency in necessary skills. E-e-excellent!
The Camera cuts to Snape, lurking in the corridor outside Dumbledore’s office. He looks at the door longingly.
The Camera cuts to an interview with Snape.
Snape: Dumbledore’s in their right now evaluating the temp. He hasn’t evaluated me in years. Everyone thinks Quirrell is so great because he’s the Defense of the Dark Arts teacher, and he’s fought off vampires, and zombies.
Back in Dumbledore’s office, Dumbledore is still evaluating Quirrell.
Dumbledore: Five years from now, what do you want to do? Where do you want to be?
Quirrell: W-w-ell, I’m interested in-in l-le-leadership.
Dumbledore: Oh! Good. Ambitious. Excellent. Want to be a headmaster?
Quirrell: Uh, n-no actually, I w-want to r-r-rule the w-w-world…
Dumbledore: That is Riddikulus.
The Camera cuts to an interview with Dumbledore.
Dumbledore: (to Camera) Quirrell’s about to attend the Albus Dumbledore School of Leadership. I'm like Gandalf and Merlin rolled into one.
The Camera cuts back to Dumbledore and Quirrell.
Dumbledore: There are ten rules of leadership that you need to learn. Number one: You need to play to win. But... you also have to win to play.
Quirrell: G-got it.
Dumbledore: And…I will give you the rest of the ten at lunch.
The Camera cuts to Charms class, where Gryffindor students are attempting to use a spell to make a feather float through the air. Ron’s wand hovers above his feather as he recites the spell.
Ron: Wingardium Leviosa.
Nothing happens.
Ron: Why isn’t this stupid spell working.
Hermione: Well, maybe you should try looking into the smart part of your brain.
Ron looks at the Camera, annoyed.
The Camera cuts to interview with Ron
Ron: She’s smart. Talks to me a lot. A lot. Too much. Like a crazy person. A little. Not super crazy... just... there's something about her that creeps me out. I can't really explain it. She’s always up in my bidness. Which is ebonics for "being in my face and annoying the bejesus out of me."
The Camera cuts back to Charms Class.
Hermione: You’re saying it wrong. It’s Wing-gar-dium Levi-o-sa.
Ron: No, just stop. Stop. Stop doing it. You're going to drive me crazy.
Hermione: Fine. Sorry I annoyed you with my friendship!
Hermione turns, lets out an angry yell and punches a hole in the wall. Everyone in the classroom stops working and looks at her in shock.
Hermione: That... was an overreaction… Gonna hit the bathroom.
Hermione runs away and hides in the girl’s bathroom.
After she leaves, Harry and Ron inspect the wall. Harry pokes at the hole.
Harry: Oh my God, that’s half-inch drywall.
Ron: I think we broke her brain.
The Camera cuts to the Great Hall where students and teachers are eating. An alarm goes off. Quirrell bursts into the hall and runs through the room.
Quirrell: Troll — in the dungeons — thought you ought to know.
Quirrell slumps to the floor in a dead faint.
Snape and McGonagall stand up.
Snape: Students!
McGonagall: Okay, everybody.
Snape: This is not a test. Prefects, lead your houses back to the dormitories.
Draco looks at the camera in alarm. The Camera cuts to an interview with Draco.
Draco: The Slytherin dormitory is in the dungeon…
The Camera cuts back to the Great Hall.
McGonagall: Do not panic.
Snape: Head towards your dorms.
McGonagall: Safety Partners.
Dumbledore gets up and runs out of the hall, pushing students aside to get through. The Camera follows him as he runs through the corridors to his office.
The Camera cuts back to the Great Hall as students and faculty start to shuffle out.
Snape: No, panic is warranted!
McGonagall: Go in single file lines.
Snape: This is not a drill!
The Camera cuts to Dumbledore standing outside his office. He looks at the camera sheepishly.
Dumbledore: Yes, I was the first one out. And, yes, I've heard women and children first. But, I believe treating students like adults. And, uh, women are equal in the workplace by law. So, I let them out first, I have a lawsuit on my hands.
Later, Dumbledore and Snape are in Dumbledore’s office.
Dumbledore: How did a troll accidentally get into Hogwarts?
Snape: It would appear someone let it in.
Dumbledore: Who would do that?
The Camera cuts to an interview with Fred and George.
Fred: What? We did not do that.
The Camera cuts to an interview with Quirrell. Quirrell is barely able to stifle his laughter.
Quirrell: It wasn’t me! Um..it wasn’t me.
Quirrell regains his composure.
Quirrell: It was not me.
The Camera cuts back to Dumbledore’s office. There’s a knock at the door, and McGonagall enters, followed by Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
McGonagall: These three were found taking on the troll in a bathroom.
Dumbledore: You took on the troll? And won?
Harry: Yes.
McGonagall: What on earth were you thinking?
The Camera cuts to an interview with Harry
Harry: We found ourselves on the, less prepared side of things when the troll went bezerk. And I knew exactly what to do, but in a much more real sense I had no idea what to do.
The Camera cuts back to Dumbledore’s office.
Snape: I’ll go take care of the troll.
Snape leaves.
Dumbledore: (to Quirrell) Okay, yes another rule of business is being able to adapt to different situations.
Quirrell: Yeah.
Dumbledore: Adapt. React. Re-adapt. Act. All right? That's rule number two.
The Camera cuts to Interview with Quirrell.
Quirrell: (To Camera) I don't want to be like "a guy" here. You know? Like, Snape is the "creepy goth guy". And McGonagall has cats. I don't want to have a thing... here. You know, I don't want to be the "something guy".
The Camera cuts back to Dumbledore’s office
Dumbledore: Okay, so 10 points to Gryffindor.
McGonagall: Should we really be rewarding them for doing something so reckless?
Dumbledore: Did I stutter?
The door opens and Snape returns, laughing.
Dumbledore: Snape, what is it?
Snape: Apparently in Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons, they don’t teach you how to lock a door because some smart, sexy temp left the dungeon unlocked so the troll could get in!
Dumbledore: Wow. Okay. Well, I guess they don't teach how to lock a door in Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons.
Snape: That's exactly what I said.
Dumbledore: Hey, did you miss that day there, Quirrell?
Snape: Were you absent?
Quirrell: I am so-so-so sorry.
Snape: We should call him “Troll Guy”
The Camera cuts to an interview with Dumbledore.
Dumbledore: Hey! I know what'll impress everybody, I'll let a troll in the dungeon. Bad idea, man. Bad idea.
The Camera cuts to an interview with Quirrell.
Quirrell: I can't believe I let the troll in.
The Camera cuts back to Dumbledore and Quirrell
Dumbledore: Okay. Rule five - safety first, i.e. don't let a troll into the school. Okay? That should be a no brainer.
The Camera cuts to an interview with Dumbledore.
Dumbledore: Quirrell is book smart. And I am street smart. And book smart.
The Camera cuts back to Dumbledore and Quirrell.
Dumbledore: I'll give you the rest of the ten tomorrow.
