Some call it Chaos. We call it Family.
> X <
Time flies by once more and it finally the year where both her sisters will set sail, with Ann being first and Sabrina following soon after. Ann as a pirate, and then Luna found out through her father that Sabrina joined the revolutionary. It had not shocked her really, Sabrina was always the person that wanted to do something directly to change the way of the world, she was disgusted by what nobles did, and it seems like she wishes to put a stop to all of their doings.
Ann had set to be a pirate, and her goal was the same to Luna was told when they were younger. She wanted to pave a title for herself, she wanted to have her own title rather than be known as the late pirate king's daughter. While Ann doesn't hate her father, or herself, because Luna made sure not to let the opinions of others affect Ann's view of her father, Ann did not want to just depend on her father's name. So, when Luna got a call from Shanks a few months after Ann setting sail, for him to tell her that he got a letter from Makino, saying that Ann was aiming to fight Whitebeard, Luna giggled. Seems like Ann will be joining the Whitebeards soon.
When meanwhile all this happened, Luna met a princess undercover and struck a friendship with her, only to find out that one of the seven warlords has been causing conflict in her kingdom. Luna promised Vivi that she will free her country.
Luna ended up teaming up with Smoker on freeing Alabasta, and their meet up place was on the red line entrance. Smoker had been too exhausted to argue with Luna on the inconvenience it will he to climb the mountain. It was there that they met a whale that kept attacking the Red Line Mountain and this hurt Luna. She could feel the sadness radiating off him, Laboon, the name of the whale that they found out from the man Crocus, who lives on top of the mountain.
When Luna heard the name Crocus, she remembered the name from her Rouge-nee-chan's journals.
"You're Crocus! The doctor that sailed with the pirate king!" Luna exclaimed.
Smoker and Tashigi always thought that her obsession with Gold Roger was weird, but both shoved it aside as a Luna thing, so they didn't question how she knew old man Crocus.
But Crocus was suspicious of the lady, "And how do you know that brat?"
"Shishishi!" She giggled, "You know, I had an older sister," the marines didn't understand why she mentioned the older sister; "She used to tell me stories of the pirate king and his crew. Of his tales. His adventures."
Crocus just got more suspicious, who is this older sister that would know about their adventures? "What's her name, brat?"
"Pink Hibiscus." Luna said, "And she passed away when I was a kid after giving birth to a baby."
Pink Hibiscus? Was that even a name? Well, the marines didn't know anyone by that name. Neither did Crocus, but Pink Hibiscus was ringing bells, not of a name, but of something else. A person who loved this flower.
Luna watched with a smile when Crocus started to realize who she is talking about.
"Oh. So, she died," Crocus was not close to her, but his captain loved her, and from what Luna just said, she had given birth, meaning that his captain's child is living on.
"Now then, as a favour," Luna said, "I will be stopping the whale from trying to kill himself."
Crocus raised an eyebrow, "Alright?"
And she did, he was not sure how exactly, she just talked to a whale, and Laboon had seemed to understand her. And then at the end of the conversation, she promised that she will come back one day.
After that, they went to visit Drum Island before going to Alabasta. And in Drum Island they met a talking reindeer, Tony Tony Chopper, and he's just so adorable in Luna’s opinion. It had reminded her of her baby sisters and she kept hugging him all the time, insisting that he joins them. He obviously declined; after all he wanted to become a pirate like how his father figure used to dream of becoming one. After fighting off the former king of the island, and protecting the flag that belonged to his father, a flag with a pirate skull drawn on, that's when it had become clear that Luna wasn't like normal marines, and he ended up joining them.
It was on the way to Alabasta, that Luna heard some interesting information from Tashigi.
"Smokey is dating someone?" Luna asked, making sure what she heard was true.
Tashigi nodded, "Now, normally I wouldn't be telling anyone this, because of who his girlfriend is, but I know that your view on pirates isn't actually bad."
Luna looked shocked, before smiling, "So he's dating a pirate? Oh wow. Smokey and I seem to have some things in common."
"Wait, what?" Tashigi asked, "You're dating a pirate? Who? Does Garp-san know?"
Luna grinned, "Now, I will keep quiet about Smokey dating a pirate, so no one should hear what I'm gonna tell you. And Smokey, you can come out of your hiding spot."
And just like that, Smoker walked out from around the corner, and settled beside his subordinate. Tashigi shifted slightly, knowing that her superior might be mad with her, but she did not expect Smoker's question of "Who is it?"
Luna smiled gently, eyes seemingly softer than before at the thought of her lover, "Marco."
"The Phoenix?" Tashigi hissed, glancing around the deck of the ship.
Luna waved her hand and Tashigi, dismissing her worries, "My crew knows, so no worries, they won't spell. And yes, the phoenix, we've been together for almost five years."
Tashigi looked shocked. Her friend has been dating a pirate for almost five years? That long? And she was clearly very happy too. She couldn't help the smile that grew on her face, "Well, you look happy."
"Then I hope he does make you happy," Smoker said, to which Luna nodded at him with a bright grin. "Does Garp know?"
"Yup!" Luna confirmed, "And he even approved!"
Smoker nodded, "Well, Marco the Phoenix isn't a bad choice of a partner. So, I approve for now too."
Luna smiled mischievously, "Ohhh~ so Smokey does care!"
"Shut it!"
"Sooo~ Who is the lucky girlfriend?"
"She's not actually my-" Smoker sentence was cut of my Tashigi replying with "Portgas D. Ann."
Luna blinked multiple times, trying to understand that Ann, her baby sister Ann, is dating one of Luna's friends. Ann is dating Smoker.
Tashigi took Luna's silence as confusion, "Portgas D. Ann is a pirate that seems to be under the government protection, there has been order that no bounties for her or her sister, which is surprisingly a revolutionary member, Sabrina. So, I'm not surprised you might not recognize her."
Luna nodded, "Uh-yeah. No, I recognize her. It's just... Surprising?"
Smoker sighed, "Tell me about it."
Tashigi giggled, "It's actually cute. Ann-san was actually the one to pursue Smoker-san. She told him since the beginning that she was interested in him."
Luna nodded, yeah, Ann would do that. I mean, Luna did the same thing, she literally asked our Marco in their first meeting. Sabrina most likely will do the same with whoever she fancies, if she hasn’t already.
Then Luna finally took in everything, "Wait, Smokey, you said she isn't actually your girlfriend? I really hope you're not leading her on." She said, voice threatening.
Smoker rolled his eyes, "No, I told her when she asked me out that it won't work out, not only with our position, but as I don't want to do anything to a young girl."
"Ann-san said she doesn't care, and age shouldn't really be an issue as long as she consents and she isn’t too young." Tashigi added.
Luna nodded, then a grin started growing on her face, "Congrats Smokey!" Luna can't wait for the day that this deal with the government is finished; she wants to tease Smokey for being her future brother-in-law.
That conversation had put Luna in a great mode. One of her sisters was in good hands, now Sabrina was left. She will need to check with her father soon for any developments with Sab.
After freeing Alabasta, Vivi had decided to stay in her kingdom, but not before Luna told her that Vivi will not be able to stay in contact with them for too long, as one day, Luna will be wanted.
Luna and Smoker got separated, each set on different missions. And that's when Luna and co. found out that Nico Robin, the devil child, had snuck aboard their ship. With one glance into her eyes, Luna had decided that Robin will join them, but this is to be kept a secret from the government for as long as they can.
They left and went to Skypea, since she had uncovered all of Crocodile's doings, she and her crew we rewarded by a short vacation, that she took that chance to go on an adventure. She had not expected to end up beating up a wannabe 'God' but she at least had enjoyed her stay there. Robin had ended up hearing tales of the. Sun God from the inhabitants of the sky island.
"Captain-san," Robin called out, "Do you know why you are called by the title Fenrir, after the god of wolves?"
Luna had looked up from her letter; she was writing a letter to Marco regarding her newest adventure. "They named me that as to show to the public that I am loyal to the government, or at least that's what Nii-chan thinks."
Robin blinked in surprise, she had already suspected that something was wrong with Luna since the crew was hiding Robin from the world government (Robin didn't care if she was found either way, she had lost her will to live, and the only reason she's with Luna is because she saved her, and if she was found and killed, it wouldn't matter to her. Not that Luna would allow that.) But Robin didn't know what Luna is to the government, and from her phrasing, Luna wasn't actually loyal to the world government.
"Captain-san. What do you mean to show to the public? Are you not actually loyal to the government?"
Luna stared in confusion at Robin, noticing that Chopper's attention was also drawn to their conversation, before realizing, "Oh! I never told you two why I joined the marines in the first place!"
The two newest members stared in confusion, while the rest sent them smiles or grins. "My loyalty was never with the marines; it has only been for my family. I have two sisters, both wanted by the government, so in exchange for their freedom, I work for them."
Robin's eyes widened in shock, it's no wonder Luna so willingly let Robin join since she doesn't actually follow the government's rules, but it also didn't make sense, "Won't me joining your crew affect your deal with them?"
Luna shrugged, "Well, all they would do is order me to kill you, I can refuse saying that I consider you as family, since those who are family to me are under protection of the world government."
Chopper moved to sit into Luna's lap, "So, will we stay with the marines forever?"
Luna shook her head, "Nah, this is just temporary. Nii-chan said that the government won't keep their deal for long."
"Then why make the deal in the first place?" Robin asked, her voice had a trace of anger. "You sold your freedom for what reason of your sisters won't stay under the protection of the government?"
Luna sent a grin towards Robin, one filled with determination, "To give them time to get stronger."
Robin blinked a few times, and then smiled gently at Luna, "I see. Well then, I have to add, that your older brother is most likely correct. With the name they gave you."
Luna frowned, hugging Chopper to herself, while the rest sat up in alert to look at Robin. "Isn't the name just to show the public I'm loyal?"
Robin shook her head, "That might not be the only reason. Did you know captain, that Fenrir is considered as a beast, and due to a prophecy regarding his attacking Odin, who is considered as the god of everything. Fenrir was chained up, not only due to the prophecy, but also due to his linage, as he is the child of Loki, the god of mischief and chaos. After trying to attack Odin, he had been beheaded."
Nami's face paled, "You're saying that in this situation, the government is Odin, and they set up Luna to be Fenrir, so that when they end their deal, and Luna attacks them, they would kill her, just like Odin did to Fenrir?!"
Robin nodded, "That is what I believe."
"Captain..." Zoro spoke, looking at Luna. She just smiled in return, "Well, I never really liked the title of Fenrir." She shrugged, "I am no Fenrir, and the government is no God."
Robin stared, not speaking after that, not saying that there were other titles, other gods that symbolize wolves... One of them being Apollo, the god of the sun.

Instead of Dr Strange putting Loki on the Dangerous list, what if he put Loki on the 'People that need therapy' list. Thor 3, portals Loki to the Sanctum and gives him tea while they wait for Thor.
Thor shows up on guard and finds Loki and Strange drinking tea and talking. Strange agrees to find Odin for Thor on the condition that Loki stays in the Sanctum and gets therapy.

So I’ve had this irondad idea that I would KILL for someone to write. I’ve wanted to write it too but I don’t think I’ll get to it.
I started kinda sorta actually writing this in a few scenes 😂 don’t mind my weird idea writing style. Feel free to change what you want or add your own twist on things!! And please tell me if you do write this idea. I’ve had it stuck in my mind and I wanted to make it at least 10k-30k words.
I sadly, don’t have time for that though haha! Soooo hopefully someone wants to write this so I can read it lol
———
The idea is that after Tony passes away the rest of the Avengers talk to Peter for about two years, since Peter spends time at the compound and all that.
But at a random point Peter notices he’s getting ignored by the Avengers for months, they won’t say anything on why they’re all stressed and won’t talk to Peter AT ALL.
One day one of them (most likely Sam/Rhodey) let’s it slip that they have an imposing threat on earth they’re trying to find and it’s so classified that Peter can’t get his hands on the information.
So Peters bummed they don’t trust him, probably gets a line said to him like “Look kid, we really don’t need your help on this. Trust me.” And it destroys Peters self esteem because he’s already 18 and they still see him as the kid.
He goes home one day after school/compound/work or something and when he walks in his spidey senses act up.
Looking into his apartment (moved away from aunt May assumingly) he sees nothing at first so he’s suspicious but not taking any drastic measures.
And then he walks into the living room, where he has a view of the kitchen. And who happens to be standing there eating the fucking blueberries?
Tony motherfucking Stark.
Peter flips out, because he saw Tony die. He’s rambling about how he thought he was dead and all that but then he sees something that tells him -it’s not his Tony-.
The Tony Stark eyes he always remembered were whiskey brown. This guy had glowing blue eyes.
And now Peter’s heart drops. He’s trying to get information out of the imposter and that’s when the guy finally speaks.
He tells Peter about how he’s been on this earth for a few months, the Avengers spotted him through satellite, and how he’s from an alternate reality.
Peter refers to the guy as Anthony since he isn’t his Tony Stark. But he also realizes this is what the Avengers were keeping from him.
Anthony explains how he was drawn here as first (which we later get a point of view from Anthony when he first got on this earth and he wasn’t drawn there, he was told to go there. By Tony Stark whispering in his head).
Anthony also tells Peter that there’s a bigger threat than him on their way, and the Avengers are so caught up looking for him they’re ignoring the other threat.
Peters skeptical, he really is. (If you do end up writing this please don’t make this another Quentin Beck. I don’t want Peter being too gullible or getting used by Anthony because that kinda ruins the plot/already been done in far from home)
Peter has close to no trust for Anthony, especially since he has no information at all from the Avengers. But he still partially believes the guy that there’s another threat.
And he knows he’d have a lot of guilt if he turned him in and there was a threat he could’ve stopped.
So him and Anthony team up.
They look for the bad guy, maybe go through goons/hydra agents for information. But now Peters stumped.
Because Anthony isn’t afraid to use a gun or kill. Anthony’s moral meter isn’t like Tony’s was, especially in front of the kid.
Peter scolds him, tells him that he won’t be killing around him or else he’s shutting the whole operation down.
After that Anthony only kills a few more times, and Peter tries to yell at him for those but he sees rage behind Anthony’s eyes.
Especially since the guys Anthony had killed almost hurt/killed Peter. Peter kept quiet for those deaths and they end up back at his apartment to sleep maybe.
Peters silent after he realizes that it seems Anthony cares about him. This is the night before they confront the big bad guy.
For reference they’ve been together looking for information for weeks!! Keep that in mind cause then you can add your own cute scenes in those weeks of maybe Anthony being protective or helping Peter with homework.
In the middle of the night Peters spidey senses go off, he wakes up and immediately looks for Anthony. He walks into the living area to see the guy peacefully sleeping on the couch.
His eyebrows scrunch together and he decides to go back to bed but can’t fall back asleep.
And then the Avengers break down the door of Peters apartment.
Peter freaks out l, hearing it and Sams familiar footsteps along with whoever else you want to be there. Rhodey would make the most sense with the rest of the Avengers waiting at the compound.
Peter runs back to the living room to where they’re already handcuffing Anthony and Anthony isn’t saying a word, but Peter is trying to convince them to stop and there’s a bigger threat out there they need to be after.
Rhodey or Sam would tell him sternly to get to the compound.
Apparently they had found out the two of them were working together while trying to find out where Anthony was after figuring out he was on this earth.
When he’s at the compound he finds out Anthony has been out in an interrogating place at the compound and each of the Avengers try to crack him but he won’t say a word.
Now(preferably Sam but you can have Peters main Friendship be with someone else, lol but this part of the friendship will be a bit rocky) Sam confronts Peter.
Goes something like this:
“Peter you knew better, why didn’t you contact an Avenger? Huh?”
“Because I knew you guys would do this shit Sam!! There’s a threat! I’ve seen it, we need to stop the threat.”
“Peter, there have been no signs of a threat against earth. At least nothing like he seems to be telling you. Because he won’t tell us anything. I need information on him! Because that damn well isn’t Tony Stark.”
“I know that, of course I fucking know that. You just.. you don’t know him Sam. I swear he’s a decent guy. Anthony is telling the truth.”
“No. He’s manipulating you, he knew you were an easy target and that’s why he went to you!”
Peter pauses for a second, tears catching up with his emotions as he begins to cry. “That’s what you think? That’s what you all think.. of course.”
Sam seems to realize he messed up, but he keeps his mouth shut and let’s Peter talk.
“You guys don’t trust me. I don’t even know why I hang around here, I’m obviously not welcome.” Peter laughs, pained.
“What? Of course we trust you.”
“That’s a god damn lie!! Because if you did this wouldn’t have happened.” Peter yelled.
Sam stays quiet again, remembering how he told Peter that he couldn’t tell him about the threat they were all worried about. Each of them didn’t trust that Peters reaction wouldn’t cause a hurricane of events, it seems it did anyway.
“Do you know.. how scared I was?” Peter whispered this time, wiping his tears away.
“What?”
“Do you know how fucking scared I was when Tony Stark ended up in my apartment! He died two years ago right in front of me and then there he was!! Eating blueberries in my kitchen with glowing blue eyes as if it never happened.” Peter said, watching as Sams face dropped.
Peter shakes his head and continues. “I’m going home, maybe think before you decide I’m to be untrusted next time.”
Sam doesn’t stop Peter because he’s already pissed the kid off.
Either way it was 2am and he assumed Peter wanted some sleep. The whole night Anthony doesn’t say a word.
The next morning the Avengers decide they need Peter to clarify what happened.
When one of them goes to Peter’s apartment, they can’t find him. At first they assumed he went somewhere but the tracker on his suit the compound has access to has been clipped. (If you can figure out a better way that they figure out Peter went after the threat on his own go for it).
After Sam figures out Peters gone he hurries into the cell that Anthony is in, guilt putting in his stomach because what if Peter was right and he was against a threat much larger than himself.
“Where is he?” Sam immediately asks after slamming the door shut behind himself.
Anthony stares at him, obviously planning on not saying anything.
“Where the fuck is Peter? C’mon asshole, you told him there was a threat and now I can’t fucking find him. Where is he?”
Sam watches as Anthony’s face pales and he looks down at the ground with his eyes wide.
Sams stomach churns. “Please? Come on, I don’t know your intentions but please tell me. He’s only 18, I-“
Anthony gets the watch as Sam regrets every word he ever said to Peter and holds back tears because there was a chance they wouldn’t find Peter and it would be Sams fault.
“Get me out of here.” Anthony tells Sam.
Sam stares at him, there’s a darkness behind Anthony’s eyes at that moment he’s only seen on Bucky when he had to act like the winter soldier with Zemo.
Sam thinks back to Peter voguing for Anthony and makes a decision. This time, he would trust Peter.
“Alright.”
None of the other Avengers had been consulted during this decision, but Sam leaves the tracking of his wings on just in case.
He and Anthony would go together to help Peter.
“What are we doing?” Anthony asked while Sam walked into his room at the compound.
“I don’t know what we’re up against, I gotta suit up.” Sam said.
Anthony hummed and nodded, leaning against the doorway while Sam picked up something familiar.
“Is that Captain America’s shield?” Anthony asked, raising a brow.
“Yeah, Steve gave it to me before he retired.” Sam nodded, picking up a duffel bag.
“Which makes you Captain America.” Anthony smiled.
“Yup.” Sam chuckled.
“Alright, grab your suit. You can change on the plane.” Anthony decided, already walking off.
“What?” Sam quickly slung the duffel bag over his shoulder, carrying the shield and jogging to catch up with Anthony.
“What do you mean, plane?” Sam asked.
Anthony lifted his hand, holding a pair of keys in it. “Snatched it before you guys locked me up. You should really have an AI looking over this place to tell you things.” He suggested.
Sam felt some deja vu, remembering when Tony was alive and the voice of Friday could be heard everywhere. Rhodey shut her down, unable to listen to her voice and be reminded of his friend.
Anthony takes them to where Peter is currently trying to get a good vantage point on the threat, he’s only getting minor goons outside the building(maybe? The antagonist is up to you).
Sam stays back for a bit, getting a call on his phone from Rhodey who he knows is pissed.
He hesitantly answers and listens to the scolding but gives them their location anyway, having more Avengers on their way.
Anthony and Peter are talking and planning as well as joking. Peter seems pleased that Sam decided to trust him.
The three of them start to infiltrate the threat, Anthony has a wrist gauntlet that’s ice blue and silver he uses as well as a gun.
The Avengers arrive rather quickly to help the fight, all very wary about Anthony.
Here’s the thing, they all know Anthony’s moral is messed up and he isn’t afraid of killing or anything like that. They know he isn’t Tony.
So when Peter gets injured/almost dies they are all very surprised to see Anthony freeze as Sam tries to help the wound on his body.
The threat is gone at this point and the Avengers are trying to help Peter while he’s screaming out in pain, and Anthony is unfamiliar with the liquid rolling down his face.
(You can also make it where everyone thinks Peters dead and he kinda wakes up in the middle of their mourning lol)
And then Anthony snaps back into it, rushing forward and sliding through The small crowd and leaning down next to Peter with Sam on the other side.
“Hey hey hey, you’re alright kid. You’re alright.” Anthony said, forcing and smile and putting his hand on the side of Peter face.
Peters crying while Sams trying to get the bullet/clean the wound.
Anthony grabs onto Peters hand and squeezes it, Peter squeezes back.
“You’re gonna be okay Peter, I know it hurts, Underoos.” Anthony whispered in Peters ear.
Peter looked like he was gonna say something but then looked up and locked eyes with Anthony.
“What?” Peter whispered.
For Anthony, that moment too felt unreal. Memories began to blend with his own.
~~
‘There’s this crazy car parked outside!’
‘Mr. Parker.’
‘Umm. What, what are you doing? Hey.. I- I- I’m Peter.’
‘Tony.’
~
‘If you’re nothing without the suit, you shouldn’t have it!’
~
‘I don’t want to go, please, I don’t want to go Mr. Stark.’
‘I’m sorry.’
~
‘Hey! Holy cow! You will not believe what's been going on. Do you remember when we were in space? And I got all dusty? And I must've passed out because I woke up and you were gone. But Doctor Strange was there right. And he said 'It's been five years. Come on, they need us.' And he started doing the yellow sparkly thing that he does. Anyway...’
Tony hugged Peter, feeling as the teens excitement wore down.
‘This is nice.’
~
‘Mr. Stark, hey, Mr. Stark?’
‘Can you hear me? it’s Peter. Hey..we won. Mr.Stark. We won, Mr.Stark. We won, You did it sir, you did it.’
~~
“Anthony? What did- what did you just call me?” Peter asked, sliding up against the wall nearby after Sam finished making sure his wound was okay.
The Avengers looked confused, Rhodey glancing at the Tony lookalike uneasily.
Anthony and Peter looked at each other, both pale and scared.
“I- I don’t understand.” Anthony muttered.
Peter seemed to be staring at Anthony’s eyes the whole time, tears going down his face.
“Your eyes, Mr. Stark.” Peter held his hand to his mouth, staring in disbelief.
“What?” Anthony asked, new found emotion for the kid and everyone around him.
“Your eyes, Tony. They’re brown.”

“What are you doing?” Sam eyed you curiously at the way you were hiding behind him, seeing as you were the same height as him, it was like a giraffe hiding behind another giraffe.
“I’m looking for my dignity, can’t you see” You sarcastically replied to him as if it wasn’t obvious you were trying to hide from Bucky.
You didn’t realise when you had a crush on Bucky, it just developed over the moments you had with each other. You both had gotten close over a few months. It started just as small glances when you passed each other in the hallway but then it became sneaking off in the kitchen talking about anything. Then it became more, you knew he had nightmares, which is why he came at any hour of the night to see you. You, on the other hand, just couldn’t sleep at night, you didn’t have nightmares or anything, you just couldn’t so instead you started to bake or cook whenever you couldn’t sleep. Tony had an unlimited amount of supplies so why not use them. You rarely shared your treats with anyone, so when you started offering them to Bucky and eventually making what he liked, you, along with the rest of the team put the pieces together, well everyone except Bucky.
You tried to make your flirting obvious but every time you tried to flirt, you’d just make a fool of yourself and he’d laugh. Normally your flirting came naturally, especially with Bucky but you didn’t think he saw it that way. You were fine with things that way, you didn’t want to tell Bucky about your feelings in case you ruined your friendship, so you hid your feelings, horribly.
This time you decided to hide from Bucky because in your idiotic mind if you didn’t see him you wouldn’t have feelings for him. You swore you were smarter than that but not when it comes to Bucky. So now here you are, trying to hide behind Sam and doing a horrible amazing job.
“Why the hell are you hiding from Barnes?” Sam stopped in the midst of his walk to turn around to talk to you.
“Don’t move he’ll see me, just keep moving and stop looking suspicious” You squatted behind him in case Bucky turned this way.
“He’ll see us when we walk past him anyway and answer my question, why are you ignoring him?”  Seeing as your disguise wasn’t working, you quickly pulled Sam away in the opposite direction of Bucky, but he saw both of you and quickly misinterpreted the situation.
Seeing as every time you ignored Bucky you would go to Sam, Bucky thought of the two of you becoming more than friends and he didn’t like how he felt about it. He was just bad at saying what he felt, especially when it came to his feelings for you. Normally he could talk about anything with you but he always felt flustered when it became about what he felt for you because you were special to him. When you came on the team and saw him around the compound, you didn’t hide from him and you weren’t scared of him either. You always greeted him with a smile on your face and since then instead of glaring at everyone who would give him a second glance he would give them a small smile as if your joy rubbed off on him.
He didn’t even second guess himself when he started to talk to you about his nightmares. Every night, when he couldn’t sleep, he knew he would find you in the kitchen making something and just the sight of you standing in the kitchen with flour all over you was enough for him to calm down from whatever woke him up. So your conversations came naturally, there was no push to talk about anything and if it got awkward, you would quickly talk about something else, while Bucky listened to you. Bucky for the first time in a long time felt peace. Of course, he had Steve, but you were different, you didn’t know anything about him yet it felt like you knew each other for your entire lives.
So when Bucky saw you heading off with Sam, he didn’t like what he felt. He didn’t want to come to conclusions but you’ve been acting weird lately. You haven’t been baking when he came into the kitchen at night, he never saw you around the common room anymore. He didn’t want to let anyone know, but he was worried, he was worried that he was losing you and he didn’t want to but he wasn’t one for a confrontation so he thought he’d try to forget about it for now.
You successfully pulled Sam away from anywhere near Bucky and steered him towards a closet, not completely closing the door. To anyone else, it may seem like you were more than friends about to have a hot moment in the supply closet, but it wasn’t anything like that.
“Okay, you need to listen to me and don't interrupt me and I swear to God you better not tell anyone about this, got it?” Maybe you were overreacting but you’d rather not die of humiliation if everyone finds out that you have a crush on Bucky. It didn’t matter if they probably figured it out but both you and Bucky brushed the rumours, with the excuse that you were just friends and for a while you believed it, thinking that Bucky didn’t need to get in a relationship right now, so you never thought of it. But now, after all the time you two spent together, getting closer than others in the compound and the fact that he trusted you to talk about anything, you cherished that and part of you didn’t want to ruin the wonderful friendship you had.
“Jeez woman alright, I won’t tell a soul that you’re in love with Barnes' “. That smirky ass held his hand up like he was being sworn in, almost laughing at you, but hiding it with a cough.
“I’m not in love with him” You scoffed at that, even though he was right, but you didn’t want him to be right, because if he is, then if this got out to Bucky, you’ll be screwed and not in a good way.
He raised an eyebrow at your confession, not believing a word you said, but urges you to continue.
“Okay, maybe I have feelings for him, but I can't let anyone know, especially Bucky. I don’t need my heart broken because I couldn't keep my mouth shut.”. You started to ramble not seeing what signals Sam was giving you, trying to ignore his distractions to continue your rant.
“Hey um, maybe we should talk another time-” You interrupted him again, not understanding what he was h trying to do.
“Stop interrupting me, I need to talk to someone about this and while you’re not my first choice, you’re here so shut up and listen” Before Sam could say anything, the door opened wider, with the last person you wanted to see behind it. Staring at Bucky with your mouth slightly opened, not saying a word, Sam slipped out between the two of you, not needed anymore.
You tried to move but of course, you were having a dumb moment, which you had a lot around Bucky, but usually, you hid it better. Before you could say anything, Bucky closed the door behind him and walked closer to you and suddenly, the room seemed a hell of a lot smaller and jeez was it harm in there. He stopped right in front of you, which made it easy for him to hear your shaky breaths.
“Why have you been ignoring me?” You were surprised, thinking Bucky would ask right away about what he heard between you and Sam, but you knew he wouldn’t understand your stupidity. So instead of beating around the bush, you decided to get to the point.
“I’m sorry, I just-, I was just being immature. I thought that I should stay away from you because I thought my feelings would get in the way and make you uncomfortable. I know you don’t like me like that so I didn’t want to tell you to mess up our friendship and I’m sorry for how I’ve treated you recently and I’m-”
Suddenly you were cut off by warm lips and you felt every emotion from that kiss. It was better than you could’ve ever imagined. He pulled back way too soon, showing that special smile that only a few have had the pleasure of seeing. You smiled back, the small curve on your lips turning into a full-on grin.
“Do you need an explanation for that or do I need to do it again?” He said cheekily while holding your face with his large hands, both of you now laughing at his statement.
“I don't think I quite got that, you may need to do it a few more times” You giggled again, linking your arms around his waist, pulling him closer to kiss him again, only this time being interrupted by cheering behind the door.
“Fucking finally” You knew that had to be Sam, who probably brought everyone else to see what was going to end up happening.
“Shut up dickhead” Bucky yelled from your embrace, trying to sound stern, but you saw the small smile on his lips.
I think we could finish this in the bedroom, don’t you think, I may still need help understanding what you meant” before you could even finish your sentence, you were lifted in the air, your legs latching around his waist, while he tried to get through the herd of ‘supporters’ outside the supply closet. Both of you were laughing, trying to get to the bedroom before someone followed you, knowing that someone definitely would.
“Remind me to tell F.R.I.D.A.Y not to let Sam near our room” You giggled in his neck, nodding slightly as he gripped your thighs more, leaving a small kiss on your temple.

“For the record, I did not ghost you,” Peter said as he walked through the crowded hallway, Ned and Harry on each side of him.
“Yeah, yeah,” Harry huffs and rolls his eyes. “What were you doing then?” He shoots him an accusing eye.
“Self loathing?” Peter avoided eye contact, instead he played with the strap on his backpack. His two friends stare at him more intensely. “Fine! I ghosted you.”
“What are you taking about?” y/n’s cheery voice made them jump.
“You,” Ned immediately says, receiving a slap to the back of his head from Harry. “Did you not learn from yesterday?”
But y/n nor Peter heard Ned’s or Harry’s comments. And if one of them did, they ignored it.
“So, I saw you enjoyed yesterday?”
“Oh yes! But it’d be way better if you were there,” y/n’s voice softens then. “But at least I could have cheese nachos,” she joked.
“Ew,” Peter made a face as he shivered all over. “But whatever makes you happy.” His face was still crunched from the thought of the ‘nasty looking garbage food’ as he called it. The girl before him only laughed.
“It’s good, you’d know it if you’d actually try it.”
“Hell no, I’m not touching that.”
“Fine,” she says, her back already turning to go to her first class.
“No! I didn’t mean it! I swear!” he smiles finally. “I never mean it.”
y/n stops in her tracks, her beamy grin back on her face. “Sure thing, Petey.”
Peter’s cheeks warm up at the nickname, still not used to it even after all the years. He’s loved her for all of them.
He remembers the first time she called him that. They had one of their movie nights, this time at his place. With May gone to work, he had permission to let his friends stay the night. MJ was in the kitchen making popcorn along with Harry who was grabbing some soda. Ned was on a ‘pee break’. y/n cuddled up to him, her head on his shoulder, her breath brushing his neck. “Thank you, Petey.” What for? he asked that night. “This, all of this.” She broke up with a boy that night. He felt bad for being happy about it.
“Peter?” she broke him out of his thoughts. “You have math now right?”
He made a noise in response. If it was an agreement or confusion, she didn’t know. He stared at her for a moment longer. “Oh! Math!” he realised, he grabbed his books from the locker and sprinted away.
“Weirdo,” MJ appeared out of nowhere, startling the girl. Her hand shot up to her chest.
“I told you not to do that!”
“Well, you should know I never listen. Anyway, are you going to tell him or what?” MJ asks, swinging her arm around her friend’s shoulders.
“Tell him what?” y/n tried to play innocent. Her act faltering at the sight of MJ. Her brow raised and a knowing look on her face.
She groaned, “I’m still waiting for a sign if he even likes me like that.”
“You’re so oblivious.” MJ said quietly, shaking her head.

Peter locked his screen just as he saw Ned, y/n and MJ entering the lunch hall and heading for his table. His food splayed all over it along with a few of his textbooks, serving as a clear sign of holding someone’s place. He started cleaning his mess up when they neared him.
“If it’s another party I swear I’m ending our friendship,” MJ said as she bit into her sandwich.
“I’m with you on that,” y/n nudged her friend. “But if there’s any cute girls,” she wiggled her brows at MJ. Giggling slightly.
“Oh shut up!”
“What— What do you mean?” Peter panicks. All the colour from his face is out. What if she isn’t into boys at all? HOW COULD I NOT NOTICE? he freaks out internally.
MJ joined y/n in her laughter. She laughed so hard a few tears escaped her eyes. “Oh my!”
The latter is the one to break out of it first. Coughing slightly from laughing in between bites. “Cute girls, as in, for MJ.”
Peter’s eyes narrow. “What?” he said, his mouth open in confusion. All around the table, they could almost see the gears turning in his head. “Oh!”
“Yes, oh!” MJ’s laughter died down a bit. Only a tiny bit.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t—”
“It’s ok Peter, although I recon I told all of you,” MJ narrows her eyes now.
“Yes, but Peter wasn’t there,” Ned is the one to speak out. “He was doing— eh.”
Peter panicks again. Think of a quick lie! “Laundry!”
“Riiight,” MJ slowly nodded. “Because you totally know how to do that.”
y/n saved Peter from the intense stare of their friend, “C’mon MJ, let him breathe.”
“I just want to know what he’s doing all these times he ghosts us.” Well that’s a good point.
“As I said laundry.” Stick with one thing, he thinks to himself. “May wants me to learn, so I’ll know in college.” Damn, I’m good at this.
MJ glared one last time, “Sure.” She bit into the last piece of her lunch and left him only with Ned and y/n.
His palms sweat from being almost caught. He looked to his left, exchanging weird looks with Ned, then he turned to the girl opposite him. Her skin looked so beautiful in the midday, spring sun. Her hair looked soft for touch and her eyes coincidentally matched her shirt. “I— uh.. I gotta do laundry now actually, before we go to Harry’s. Okay, bye!” he excused himself quickly and almost ran out of the lunch hall.
“Weird huh?” Ned awkwardly said when only him and y/n remained.
“Yeah, weird.”
Tumblr media
Peter was doing ‘laundry’.
He swung along the many buildings in Queens, checking if the neighbourhood was friendly and safe. His mask clad face scanned the many little alleys. It was a moment of peace for him, he felt free flying above the streets.
But it faltered when his phone dinged in his suit. He jumped to one of the roofs and fished it from the pocked that Tony installed into his new suit.
He opened the phone to find out Harry’s text.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Yeah,” Peter said out loud. “This better be good.”
Tumblr media
Everyone showed up at Harry’s. His football friends, few cheerleaders, the squat — all except Peter.
“Of course,” MJ muttered as soon as she got there and the brown haired boy wasn’t present. “Dude’s gonna miss his own funeral at this point.”
“Yeah,” Ned laughed nervously. His fingers fidgeted and teeth bit his lower lip. MJ took notice of that after his laughter lasted suspiciously long. But she choose not to say anything, yet.
Harry was the one to ease the bit of tension in his house. “Don’t worry, he’s gonna show up.” He paused to grab a drink. “Told me himself. And he’s got a surprise.”
“Surprise would be him showings up.”
“Well, who am I to tell what it is?”
MJ looked between her two male friends. Her eyes almost boring into their soul. “You two know something,” she stated. “And I’m gonna find out what.”
y/n entered the room right after Ned almost choked on his drink from fright. “Something wrong Neddy?”
“No, no. Not at all,” he smiled, like a kid caught doing something they shouldn’t. “We’re just talking about Peter.”
“What about him? Have you seen him? Is he going to show up?” she could go on but Harry saved them all.
“Yup, he’ll be here any moment now.”
The girl let out a relieved sighn, her shoulders relaxing and the fake half smile dropping from her lips. “Thank god, the more time I spent with your damn friends the more I wish I was ghosting you too.” She points to Harry.
“Peter is not ghosting us, remember? He’s doing laundry,” he points out. Making y/n laugh, Ned chuckle nervously and MJ to huff. “Don’t worry, he’ll show up. I threatened him.”
All of sudden, the door bell rang though the big Osborn house. Everyone around the living room fell silent, only the music played from the speakers. A blonde boy, that was closest to the hall went to open the door.
After a very awkward two minutes of silence, the guy returned with a stunned expression. His eyes wide and mouth hanging open.
“Who was it?” one of the other boys asked, but he didn’t need an answer. Right after the blonde, a red clad man walked in. Spider-man. In Harry Osborn’s house. The murmurs started to float around the room.
“Hi!” Peter said from his spot. He remembered himself. “Hello,” he said more deeply. There’s too many people, he thought. And all of them are looking at me. He had a sudden urge to mess his hair, something he did when he was nervous or stressed. Right now, he was both. But the superhero mask was in the way.
“I uh,” he paused to look at all the faces. Most had hanging mouths out of shock, some had eyes full of awe. His vision quickly found the one he was here for. y/n was standing between MJ and Ned. She was one of those in shock, but her mouth wasn’t hanging, nor were her eyes wide. She was one of those pinned to their place, unmoving, utterly shocked to do anything.
“I’m here to say something.” Peter’s voice trembled. All the confidence he told himself he has in the suit was gone. He was just a boy, standing before a girl in a room full of people. “My friend,” he nodded to assure, more himself than others. “He uh,” his breathing picked up. “He’s in,” his eyes glossed inside the red suit. “He’s in danger!” he let out.
“Peter?” y/n almost yelled out.
Peter freaked out. He was sure he fucked up now.
To his relief, she worriedly continued, “Peter is in danger?”
“Yes!” Play it cool Parker, play it cool. “I— Peter needs Ned, Ned Leeds.”
Ned pointed at himself, unsure what his best friend meant. “Yes, you! Now hurry, or he’ll be in much bigger trouble!” He then grabbed Ned’s arm. “Come on,” he whispered furiously.
They only stopped once they were far enough, that no one could eavesdrop or see them from a window. Ned panted from the quick pace Peter set. “What— what is— what’s going on?”
“I can’t do it!” Peter whisper-yelled. His mask in his hand now. “I thought, maybe if it wasn’t entirely me, I’d say it. But I can’t!” the vision of the mask in his hand blurred behind the tears. “I’m a coward! As always I am!”
Ned neared his best friend. “It’s okay, Pete.”
“It’s not!” he burst out, throwing his hands into the air, his face red. “I’m the biggest fucking loser in the goddamn universe!”
“It’s really not that bad.”
“How can you say that?”
“Because she likes you too.” It was a familiar voice. Behind them, MJ stood with her hands crossed. Both boy’s breaths hitched. “Yeah I know, Peter is Spider-man. What a surprise!” she mocked. “You really thought you were slick huh?”
“How?” Peter motioned between himself, the mask and her. His tears long forgotten, replaced by disbelief.
“Well, I started to notice your weird disappearances, and that,” she pointed far to the house behind her. “Was very obvious.”
“Does anyone else—”
“Know? If Harry doesn’t, then I don’t think so.”
Peter shook his head. “Good,” he breathed out.
MJ cocked her head, “Don’t mind me asking. But what the hell was that?” Again, she pointed to the big house.
“I tried to tell y/n my feelings,” he said, as a matter of fact. “Didn’t go very well.” He shook his head and chuckled. “Didn’t expect anything more from myself.”
Ned and MJ shared a look. Both stepped closer to the now kneeling Peter. Their hands soothed his back as they too sat down on the lawn under the night sky. “You should’ve told us that you wanted to tell her. We could’ve helped,” MJ said into the dark night. “She would’ve told you the same, you know.”
“What?” He looked up from the green grass. His head turning from MJ to Ned for reassurance, only to receive a nod from his best friend.
“She likes you a lot.”
“Like a lot lot,” Ned added in and nudged his friend.
Peter breathed in the night’s air. His heart beating a bit faster, not from anxiety anymore, but from joy. His tears dried out completely now, he only sniffled here and there.
“Okay then, what’s the plan?”

I have had this idea churning around in my head for a while and I had to put it somewhere, so here I am! torturing my 9 followers with this idea. Almost like a complaint of sorts, but whatever!
Why has barely anybody made crossover fanfics of Avengers & Tales Of Arcadia. (The ones that are made are good, I'm just really surprised that there aren't more?) I'll give you a few reasons why this crossover would actually work really well (I would write one of these myself, but I would never complete it and there are so many more talented people out there other than me and personally I think I would end up failing it so bad!):
1. Arcadia, in reality, would so be noticed; All the weird shit that goes down in that town would have to get noticed by somebody (Specifically S.H.I.E.L.D. or H.Y.D.R.A.) but even other groups or people like Natasha and Clint on a mission (I associate them with The Avengers more than S.H.I.E.L.D.) or Loki (Imagine him in Arcadia!). Things like the Eternal Night and Morando's invasion were bound to get noticed by somebody. Like area 49B could have a connection to S.H.I.E.L.D. or even better: H.Y.D.R.A.! Or maybe Asgard has tales of the great Trollhunter and Merlin and Morgana? Imagine if Loki and Thor heard those tales? This leads to connections and a good starting point (ideas for starters below):
- Loki manages to escape back in 2012 (The first time, not in Endgame or in Endgame if you prefer) or gets banished to Earth instead of Thor and lands in Arcadia. (Or Thor if you prefer him) This could mean that Darcy, Selvig, and Jane are getting weird readings and stories from all over town and finally meet Thor or Loki then, later on, find an Akaridion, one of the Trollhunters (or all 3), or Douxie. (I would stan a Loki, Douxie, and Darcy friendship!)
- Natasha and Clint are sent on a mission to search out Arcadia Oaks. They discover that this town has a lot of crazy shit happening to it daily (I got more into the Loki or Thor one because I know more about them than I do Clint & Natasha)
- The Winter Soldier is sent to capture an asset from Arcadia Oaks. He can either fail or succeed (if you want angst). If he fails, S.H.I.E.L.D. will sooner or later, find out about it and begin to search for answers...
- S.H.I.E.L.D. was monitoring through cameras all over the world per usual when they discover something crazy happening/something suspicious happening in Arcadia Oaks. (This could be the Eternal Night, Morando's Invasion, Trollhunters fighting bad trolls, Aja, Varvatos, and Krel fighting Bounty Hunters, or Douxie and Archie defending Arcadia using magic by night) and send the Avengers in to investigate (After 2012, Loki can either be good or bad in this situation)
- After either a binge night with the entire gang or some Akaridion Tech mixing with Magic going horribly wrong: Arcadia's protectors land in the MCU universe (Begining in whichever movie), now they have to travel through the MCU timeline, make sure nobody dies, maybe make some tweaks, and hopefully not go on ANYMORE time-traveling adventures (Poor Douxie)
These are just some of the ideas but you guys get the point.
2. FRIENDSHIPS!!!!!!!! The number of friendships all going on at once would be beautiful and interesting. They could help each other fight baddies (physical or mental/emotional), get into trouble/pranks together, or just pure friendship. Here are some examples (Douxie mainly because he is amazing):
- As I mentioned earlier in this post, a Douxie & Loki & Darcy friendship! Darcy would find all the magic cool and rock out to music from Douxie, Loki and Douxie would bond over magic and try to learn each other's styles and all that! (This also applies to Dr. Strange and Wanda... so maybe a magic friend group???)
- Krel & Tony & Bruce & Jane & Selvig & Peter (Parker); SCIENCE BROS!!!!! Do I need to explain further? No.
- Krel & Tony & Douxie; MUSIC! Those 3 jamming out would be so great!
- Thor and Aja; I just feel like they would connect for some reason!
- Steve and Jim; Such angst and bonding possibilities so it's really hard not to put these two together!
- Dr Strange & Loki & Wanda & Claire & Douxie; MAGIC FRIEND GROUP! MAGIC FRIEND GROUP! MAGIC FRIEND GROUP! No more explanation needed.
Once again, you guys get the idea.
3. Possibilities to change canon - this is my take, but Takes Of Arcadia was done so beautifully that I don't really want canon changed in that universe (except for maybe more episodes and content because I love them but otherwise I love it!). But I feel like the Arcadia crew would actually change a lot of the MCU canon. With more people to help fight against the baddies, things can go differently. Maybe Claire realizes that Loki was being controlled in 2012 because she knows what it feels and looks like. Maybe the snap would have never happened? The possibilities (on both sides) are endless and so much could be changed. I think it would be interesting to see what would come out!
Either way, I spent 45 minutes writing this and I feel proud! So if any writers (if you want to) are fans of Tales of Arcadia and the MCU universe, why not give it a shot? It may end up being really cool, as quoting Merlin (gosh sometimes I just really hate him, and other times I like him?);
"A Wizard does not make mistakes, only unexpected possibilities"
Why not fuzzbucking try it? It wouldn't be a mistake, it would be an unexpected possibility!
Peace Out, and Keep It Crispy!

Summary: You and Steve break off from the group to get to know each other better and clear the air.
Warnings: Language and innuendo (romance novels)
A/N: Woo! I did it! I’m going to do my best to post something at least every 2 weeks. I miss writing, and I miss you guys! I’ve got new daily hobby goals for myself, so hopefully that’ll help me get back into the swing of things. Hope you enjoy this chapter!
Steve’s Perspective
Catch up here!
Tumblr media
In the end, extricating yourself from the group was relatively painless. Steve waited by the door while you returned to the table, passing the glass of water to a grateful Sam and retrieving your coat and bag.
“Bailing on your own party?” Tony questioned as you shrugged into your coat.
“While I’m sure you’ll all miss my dazzling personality, I’m starting to get a headache, and it’s a bit too loud in here. Steve offered to walk me home.”
Sam choked on his water, but you kept your eyes on Tony as he studied you with a small frown.
“Alright, kiddo. Feel better. Text me when you’re home safe?”
“Kiddo,” you repeated with a snort, ruffling his hair as you turned to leave.
Steve was tapping idly at his phone when you joined him at the exit. He flashed you a hesitant smile, shoving his phone back into his pocket as he pushed the door open and followed you outside.
The temperature had definitely dropped since you arrived earlier that evening, and you snuggled deeper into your jacket before turning expectant eyes on Steve.
“So, where are we headed?”
“Not a fan of surprises?”
The words were playful, but the tone was unmistakably nervous. Your stomach flipped, an unfortunate decision made for you by the tension lingering in broad shoulders and the hesitancy in a smile that should have glowed.
“I’ll allow it,” you said carefully. “On one condition. Can we get an uncomfortable conversation out of the way while we walk? So we can enjoy the rest of our night?”
“Rip it off like a bandaid, huh?” he asked, and though his face was slightly scrunched, he didn’t seem inclined to fight you on it.
“Pretty soon we’ll be expected to maintain good professional and personal standing with each other for a full five months,” you reminded him. “Honest and direct seems like the necessary way to go here.”
“You’re right,” Steve said quietly, clearing his throat and scuffing his shoe against the sidewalk. “Walking and talking it is. You want to start?”
He gestured to the right, and you fell into step beside him, taking a moment to organize your thoughts and hoping you’d have enough time to get past the cringiest bits before reaching your mystery destination.
“Okay, well,” you pulled in a deep breath. “I’ll start by saying that even with my limited exposure, you seem like a really amazing - Are you cringing already?” you broke off with a laugh.
Steve’s features were in fact twisted into a definitive wince, but he had the decency to look apologetic about it.
“Sorry! It just sounds like a polite rejection, and I’m not even sure what you’re rejecting.”
“Yeah, alright, I hear it. Let me try again,” you said with a self-deprecating smile.
You took a moment to reorganize your thoughts.
“We haven’t spent much time together so far, but what time we’ve had has been split between a… A sweet and fun Steve and someone more... tensed up. And after seeing you in there when Bucky was talking about the contract, I just feel like it might be something we need to talk about.”
You peeked over at him, butterflies beginning to flutter to life in your stomach as you watched him bite nervously at his lip.
“I mean, I know that story sucked, but it seems like there’s maybe more going on with you,” you ventured hesitantly.
“Okay, let me...” Steve rubbed at the back of his neck, releasing a sigh and looking for all the world like he was considering throwing himself through a storefront window to avoid this conversation.
“I- I don’t really do… romance. And relationships,” Steve forced out, immediately looking thoroughly disgusted with himself in a way that made you want to laugh.
You locked it down, fighting to keep a neutral expression. Laughing now could easily be misconstrued as mocking and make him less inclined to open up to you. That wasn’t something you wanted to risk.
“That’s not - I don’t do the casual thing either. I don’t do anything in that… arena,” he corrected.
His exasperation was unspeakably cute. Punk.
He glanced uncertainly in your direction, and you gave a nod of encouragement.
“Right… Um. Well, I’ve always had my reasons I guess, but by this point it’s just not really something I think about. Not in a way that applies to me, anyway. But then Bruce was texting me about helping out his friend in the English Department, and Bucky was instantly convinced that we’d… Well, you know. And he and Sam have just been… sprinting with it ever since.” Steve heaved a sigh, reaching up to fidget with his hair. “It’s kind of got me mixed up, I guess. I know it’s stupid, but -”
“It’s not stupid,” you interrupted.
Steve’s lips curled into an unconvinced frown, and you reached for his sleeve, guiding him to a stop.
“It’s not stupid,” you repeated. “You trust them, and you know they care about you. If they talk something up enough, of course you’re going to consider it. It would be weird if you didn’t.”
“Well, I’m not exactly known for being easy to convince. So if it’s not stupid, it’s definitely troubling.”
My god, was that the beginnings of a pout you were seeing?
You giggled, reaching for his arm again to set you both back on course. He fell into step beside you again, leveling a thoroughly unimpressed look at his shoes.
“Maybe you wanted to be convinced this time,” you tried.
“Oh, yeah. Developing a crush on someone you’re not allowed to date and constantly being reminded of the horrifying precedent does sound like a good time,” Steve mumbled.
This time your stop was involuntary, a function of stumbling over your own feet in embarrassing surprise. Steve caught your hand, his other resting momentarily at your waist to stabilize you before falling away just as quickly.
“Sorry,” he said, but you were still clutching his hand, heart racing from your near fall, face growing warm under his gaze.
“You don’t have to apologize, “ you said breathlessly. “I just - So, they did convince you then?”
He cleared his throat, and you let each other go, shuffling to the side for a moment to make room for a tipsy group passing in the opposite direction. You reclaimed the sidewalk once they were behind you, taking a breath and already deeply regretting your question as you traveled several steps in silence. Who just asked people if they had a crush on them. Tony, probably, but certainly not you.
“They introduced the idea,” Steve corrected quietly, still looking straight ahead of him when you chanced a peek in his direction. “But you’re the one who convinced me.”
Your heart gave a hop, skip, and a jump in your chest, and it was your turn to bite your lip anxiously. Nobody this cute was allowed to have a crush on you. Illegal, dammit.
And once you got around to signing that contract, it almost would be.
“Well, my condolences,” you struggled out. “But you started it.”
You forced yourself to meet Steve’s eyes when he glanced over at you in surprise.
“Did I?”
“Shut up,” you laughed, knocking your shoulder into him. “You know you’re cute.”
“I… Well, maybe a little.”
You shook your head, smiling at the tiny, pleased grin on his face and walking another few paces in silence.
“Right. So air cleared, yeah?” you asked. “We’ve established your feelings aren’t stupid. They’re… y’know.  Matched. But romance is off the table, so you don’t have to worry about that. Can we be friends now? No more cold, tense Steve?”
You reached your hand into the space between you, reveling in the gentle smile the gesture earned you as Steve gave it a definitive shake.
“We can be friends.”
---------------
Several minutes later, Steve reached across you, pulling open a shop door and gesturing inside with a gallant sweep of his arm. The sign read Insomniac Booksellers, punctuated with a charming owl logo.
You hurried in with a delighted smile.
“Oh, you are so going to regret this decision. Did you really just bring an English professor to a bookstore?”
“You said Alex ruined your favorite one, so I thought I’d offer a replacement. This place is open 5 pm to 7 am. It’s usually pretty quiet. And the little cafe in the back is almost suspiciously good,” he said, lowering his voice to avoid disrupting the peaceful atmosphere.
The wood floors creaked quietly beneath your feet as you stepped further into the store. Dark wood shelves dominated the space, lining the walls and nearly reaching the ceiling, a scant two feet of the deep green painted walls exposed above them. To your left, a large desk took the place of a checkout counter, an employee reclining in a puffy leather chair behind it, her feet propped on the edge as she read a battered sci-fi novel. She looked up long enough to offer a welcoming smile and wave before returning to her book.
More shelves stood in sets of three in the center of the store, narrow aisles between each affording you glimpses of small sitting areas tucked among the stacks, clusters of plush mismatched chairs positioned around coffee tables and charging stations. The wider center aisle led straight back to a small coffee counter, where another employee spun absently on a stool while writing in a notebook.
“Steve,” you said with a smile. “I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”
“Up to your standards, then?” he asked, holding his hands up in surrender when you shot him an incredulous look. “Just checking.”
He trailed after you as you did a quick circuit, familiarizing yourself with the way the shelves were organized before heading with purposeful strides to the shelves that housed plays. You ran your finger across the spines until you found what you needed and plucked it off the shelf to offer to Steve.
No Fear Shakespeare: Hamlet.
“Wow, no faith in me, huh?” he asked with a grin.
“I know you’re capable of picking up the language, but until then, it’s important you can check what’s going on when you get confused. Or encounter a page-long sentence,” you explained, fighting back the urge to roll your eyes at his knowing smile. “Obviously try the original language side first, but I’ve got no problem with you checking the modern translation when you need to. I’m not an asshole.”
“Alright,” Steve agreed, tucking the book under his arm and reaching for his phone. “I actually need to get the rest of the books on the list too if you want to point out your favorite editions. I know that matters to people like you.”
“People like me?” you repeated, pressing your hand to your chest as if deeply offended.
Steve rolled his eyes and handed you his phone, the screen displaying a note page listing the books from your syllabus.
“You’re not the only English professor I’ve met, you know.”
“Would my predecessor happen to be Sue of the infamous lemon bars?” You moved efficiently through the store, snagging the books from the list and adding them to a growing stack in Steve’s arms.
“Maybe.”
“Her shortbread is divine too. If she ever offers you any, take it and treasure it,” you advised.
As you placed the last book on the stack, you gave it a final little pat.
“Right. These are on me.”
“Uh, no. I was going to buy them anyway. You just saved me a trip,” Steve protested.
“Well, I’m at least paying for this one,” you said, wiggling the No Fear Shakespeare out from under his arm. He huffed in annoyance but couldn’t stop you without dropping the rest of his books.
“And something fun!” you added. “Do you read for fun?”
“I - yes, but I didn’t bring you here to buy me presents.”
“Bringing me here was a gift. I’m trying to reciprocate. What kind of books do you like?”
Steve blinked at you, pressing his lips into a firm line, a childish gesture of refusal that made you laugh.
“The silent treatment? That’s how you’re gonna play it? Alright, then I’ll have to guess.” You eyed him carefully, trying to keep the grin off your face. “I’m feeling old lady romance. Watercolor abs and billowy shirts,” you said decisively.
“Damn. How did you know?”
Not willing to be the victim of a called bluff, you raised your eyebrows in challenge, making a beeline towards the romance shelves.
“Oh, God. No! Wait!”
You bit hard on your bottom lip, trying to contain a laugh as you heard Steve fumbling to follow after you, no hands free to halt your progress.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of, Steven. My friend Wanda and I bought each other some last Valentine’s Day and read them together. Of course she chose hers on the internet, not realizing that she was handing me a 900 page soap operas straight from the 80’s. But we meet every Saturday to talk about them, and let me tell you, that is some outstanding entertainment.”
“You’re really gonna do this to me?” he sighed.
You pulled a book from the shelf, holding it up with a cheshire grin.
“Look at that. Equal opportunity eye candy. We love to see it.”
“St- ” He swallowed his protest in favor of dropping his books into a nearby chair and snatching the book from your hand, hiding the cover against his chest.
“Really enthusiastic about it, huh? Don’t worry, I’ll buy it for you,” you giggled.
“I’ll buy you a worse one,” he threatened.
“Are you sure you’re prepared to undergo the research that threat would require?” you asked, and despite the glare he was leveling at you, there was amusement sparkling in those eyes.
“Try me.”
“Well then, Steve Rogers, it is my honor to introduce you to the time-honored game of Find the Phallus. Choose your book.”
The muscle in his jaw twitched, but his eyes betrayed nothing, staying fixed on yours as he reached blindly toward the shelf and pulled a book free. He set the other down on the chair beside him.
“Going with blind luck, huh? Bold choice. Works okay for Wanda, though.” You turned toward the shelves, eyes flicking over the titles before choosing one that sounded promising.
“Rules?” Steve asked, rolling his shoulders as if preparing for a fight.
“On the count of three, we both open our books. First to find a sex scene wins.”
“Call it.”
You initiated the count through a smile, shifting into your game face as you rifled quickly through your book, skimming a few sentences from each page before moving on. Enemies to lovers, pirates vs navy. Classic. Your eyes caught on a particularly colorful euphemism, but as you opened your mouth to claim victory, Steve’s voice rang out.
“Got it! Page 15. They’re really not much for conversation apparently.”
“I literally just found one. This is a conspiracy,” You groaned, moving to peek at the page he was displaying for you. “Damn. ‘Pulsing manhood’ definitely earns you some bonus points.”
Steve snorted, snapping the book closed and returning it to its space on the shelf with an overplayed grimace.
“You’re not allowed to hate a game you just won,” you laughed.
“Beginner's luck I didn’t particularly want. I think I’m scarred for life. This game was Tony’s idea, wasn’t it?”
“Yep. Although Bruce is actually the current champion. He’s very proud.”
“I’m sure he is,” Steve laughed sarcastically, taking the book from your hands and skimming the back of it. “This sounds terrible. I’m buying it for you.”
You smiled, taking an identical copy for Wanda as well as the romance novel Steve had placed with the reading list books.
“Deal. If you put it in the middle of the stack, the cashier will already be halfway through small talk by the time she gets to it and therefore unable to comment.”
Steve smiled back, rearranging the order of his books accordingly as he gathered them back up into his arms.
“Thanks for the advice. Are you ready to go, then? If we leave now, we should have time for stop number two.”
You nodded eagerly, following him to the front and keeping up a cheerful conversation with the cashier through both transactions.
Once outside, Steve guided you one street over and several blocks back the way you had come, stopping before a tiny shop with a vibrant awning displaying a shop name in a language and alphabet you could not decipher. You looked to Steve in silent question, but he only smiled, pulling the door open for you and letting the flood of warm cookie-scented air answer for him.
The inside was stark white - walls, floors, lights, everything but the tiny chairs and the shelves behind the counter, which were a vibrant lime green. The girl behind the counter seemed to recognize Steve, smiling widely before turning to prepare something.
“Come here often, do you?” you asked jokingly.
“Once you taste their culinary masterpiece, you will understand.”
By the time you reached the counter, there was a paper bowl waiting, half full with a broken up chocolate chip cookies, melted chocolate running freely as steam rose from the container. A small glass bottle of milk went down next to it with a soft clink, and two spoons were stabbed into the cookie pieces.
“You’re new! I’m Cory,” the girl introduced herself to you with a friendly smile. “Sorry for assuming, but trust me, this is the best thing on the menu, and you’ll want to share. Everyone shares. Except Bucky, but he always regrets it.”
“Oh, he doesn’t regret it,” Steve laughed, handing over the proper payment.
“Well, he should,” Cory replied, handing back the change she already had waiting in her hand. She reached out and poured the milk over the cookies, placing the bottle on a tray of empties beside her.
“What if I wanted to stay here and eat it this time?” Steve argued, lifting a disposable spoon with mock disappointment.
“We close in thirty minutes, and it would take you at least an hour to get out of those tiny chairs. Now, scoot.”
“Rude!” he protested when you laughed, snatching up the cup and turning toward the exit. “Goodnight to you too, Cory.”
Cory winked as you followed Steve out the door.
“Excuse me, I thought we were sharing!” you said when you caught up, snatching the extra spoon from him.
“Maybe both spoons were for me,” Steve teased, but he shifted to hold the bowl between you, smiling as you tried to assemble the perfect bite. “Careful. Everything in there is an extreme temperature.”
You took your first bites at the same time, and Steve hummed in amusement when your eyes widened.
What the hell was happening in your mouth? The cookie was virtually molten, almost burning your tongue before clashing with the near-frozen milk. Chocolate, brown sugar, and the perfect amount of salt lit up your taste buds, and Steve was fully laughing at you now as you smacked his shoulder excitedly.
“Oh my God!”
“I know!”
“I wasted so much time not being your friend! How do you know the most magical hidden places in the city?”
Steve smiled smugly, taking another bite of cookie and milk as he shrugged.
“I’m gonna die here on this sad, damp sidewalk, and I won’t even be mad about it,” you insisted, taking another bite yourself.
“Or I could walk you home so you can die somewhere more comfortable. If you want,” he offered.
“Probably a good idea,” you said, checking your watch. “Wanda is only supposed to watch Faucet for another hour. Oh! That’s my dog - ”
“I know,” Steve laughed. “Bucky has told me a lot about her. I honestly think he might love her more than he loves me.”
“Well, she is extremely lovable. I’d appreciate the company, but I don’t want you going too far out of your way. I live back towards the college,” you said, pointing with your spoon.
“Me too! Won’t be a problem.”
You shared contented smiles as you turned back towards home, walking closer than before to share the dessert. You weren’t sure which made you feel warmer.
The sidewalk, previously uncontested, became more populated the closer you got to campus, groups of students filtering out of bars and returning home from parties. You weaved between them, keeping your head down to avoid traumatizing anyone with the experience of running into their professor while drunk. Beside you, Steve did the same.
These groups thinned out again before disappearing entirely as you headed off the main streets towards the residential areas, and you carried on a quiet conversation until you came to a stop in front of your building.
You hesitated a moment, studying Steve’s face before speaking.
“Earlier tonight, I said that we needed honest and direct communication, and I want to keep that up. Do you believe me?”
“Yes,” Steve answered, a touch of concern entering his eyes.
“So, believe that I mean exactly what I say when I ask if you want to come upstairs for a little while. To talk, rest a little, and meet my dog before you head back home. Those are my honest intentions,” you said carefully.
“I get to meet Faucet, huh?” The smile he gave you was tinged with shyness, and his eyes flicked up towards the windows.
“If you want to. No pressure, though.”
He thought for a moment, shifting slightly on his feet before looking back down at you.
“I’d love to.”
------------------------
Ah!! How do we feel about the crush being out in the open now? Who would you want to challenge to the romance novel game? MOST importantly, do you think Faucet will like Steve? Thoughts, opinions, speculation, I want to hear them all!
As always, replies, reblogs, and asks make the world go round! Your reactions brighten my day!

Hey same anon as the other day, would you consider doing a Leah x reader where the reader is kinda like a therapist for everyone on the island/everyone confides in her and she’s also helping Leah piece things together about the experiment?
Tumblr media
Warning: Some Language
(I am doing like snippets of when the reader is like a therapist, so it might not be in chronological order.)
You stood with the other girls around what use to be Jeanette’s grave. The grave and indentation in the sand was still there but Jeanette’s body... It was gone. You look away from the grave... Could you even call it that any more? You look up from the hole in the sand and make eye contact with Leah. You both hold eye contact for a few seconds, both of you understanding that you both think this is suspicious. “Maybe she just got taken out by the tide?” Someone says, causing you and Leah to break eye contact as you look back to the group. “The sand is uneven and wet... That seems like a good explanation.” Dot responds trying to keep calm. You look back at Leah right as she opens her mouth to say something. You quickly shake your head wanting whatever she was about to say be saved till later.
You stay behind as the girls slowly leave the ex-grave, just you and Leah are left. “You don’t believe that either do you?” Leah asks as she clenches her hand into a fist in frustration. You walk around the grave towards Leah and stand next to her facing the ocean. “No... I don’t think even the tide could do that... And for the sand to still fill the whole like that... It doesn’t make sense.” “Does no one else see that?!” Leah says starting to get frustrated. “There is something obviously going on! And when I think I get one question answered something else happens and adds twenty more question.” You see Leah start to clench her fists tighter. “Leah...” You grab one of her hands and slowly try to relax and unclench it before doing the same to the other one. You hold both her hands as you face each other. “I just... I feel like everyone thinks I’m going crazy...Maybe I am.” Leah confesses as she lets tears fall from her eyes. On instinct you pull her into a hug, resting your head on top of hers as she only reaches up to your chest. “You’re not going crazy...” You say and lean back enough to fully see Leah’s face as she looks up at you. You caress her cheek with one hand and wipe her tears with your thumb. “We are going to figure out what is going on.”
---
You sit at the entrance/exit of the shelter that had been built by Dot’s team. Today had definitely started as a fun day until whatever happened with Toni’s team went down, Toni still hadn’t returned to camp yet and you were worried. Exhaustion ends up taking over and you fall asleep, only to be woken up and unknown time later to see Fatin stealing some diet cokes. “You know they’re gonna be mad if you take theirs.” Fatin freezes at your whispering voice and looks up at you with a guilty and worried expression. You scoot out of the shelter, making sure to not wake Leah who had been leaning against you. “Grab mine, let’s go for a walk.” You say as you brush the sand off the back of your legs. “Y/n, you look tired you don’t have to--” You wave Fatin off. “It’s fine.”
You walk through the forest in relative silence as you follow Fatin in a random direction. “So... what are we gonna do?” Fatin looks back at you for a second before looking forwards again. “I was gonna find something and prove the girls wrong.” Fatin replies in a  confident tone. You nod in response, even though she wasn’t looking at you. “So why did you get sent on this retreat?” You ask as you duck under a branch. “I would rather not talk about it... What do you mean sent? How do you know I didn’t want to come?” You let out a small chuckle, “No one here wanted to be come... Everyone was sent here for one reason or another.” “How do you know that?” “They told me.” You and Fatin walk in silence again before she speaks up. “I found out my dad was cheating on my mom...” Fatin’s story was surprising but at the same time so... Fatin. “What would you have done?” She asks as you both step away from the hug you had given her when she started crying. “Well I definitely wouldn’t have blasted it out to everyone before you even told your mom, the one who would be the most affected by it. But at the same time... I don’t think sending you away was the best response. I mean you definitely should have gotten in trouble... I don’t know.” Fatin nods her head, “Yeah me neither.”
---
“Toni...” “What?” “We need to talk.” “No way, your not about to do that therapist shit you do on everyone else.” She says as she crosses her arms over her chest. “That’s fine, I’ll just sit here and keep you company in case you change your mind.” You say as you sit next to Toni and stare out into the ocean. You sit in silence for a few minutes before Toni breaks the silence. “You won’t leave me alone will you?” You shake your head, “After that last outburst, I think you need someone to talk to.” Toni groans and lets her head drop. “I didn’t even say anything that bad though.” You give Toni a deadpanned look. “I think saying, I don’t fucking matter and basically yelling at us for saving your life is a pretty bad thing.” Toni lets out a sigh, “Marty is my best friend and the closest thing I have to family. She is way too pure for the world.”
You slide closer to Toni to try and give her a sense of comfort and to show that you were listening, you had a feeling she didn’t like to be touched when explaining things or talking about her feelings. “The last conversation we had was her yelling at me and practically ending our friendship! I... If... If that had been our last conversation... I don’t know what’d I do. Yeah, maybe yelling out I don’t fucking matter isn’t the best thing to say after almost dying but compared to Martha, I think it’s obvious who matters more.” You sit for a while letting her words sink in. “Toni, you were dying---” Toni rolls her eyes and interrupts you, “I know everyone keeps saying that!” You give her a look before continuing, “Let me finish. You were dying, way worse than Martha was at that moment in time. Now put yourself in her shoes, yeah she felt bad but Toni you were practically unresponsive. What if we gave Martha that pill and you died? Imagine how that would affect Martha... You might not think you matter Toni but you have a girl over there, who may be mad at you right now, who is your best friend and loves you.”
---
“Shelby?” You ask as you walk around the rock and away from the others. You shake your head as you watch the girl drink straight out the bottle of alcohol. You walk closer and snatch the bottle from her before she can get another drink. “Alcohol is definitely not the answer.” You say as you set down the bottle in the sand. “But it helps me forget.” You sigh, “Okay maybe it’s a temporary, like one day, answer but you are still going to have to deal with everything once that bottle is empty.” Shelby doesn’t respond and rests her head in her hands. “What happened? I notices that Toni was chasing you out of the woods.” “Aren’t you mad at me or something? Why are you talking to me?” You cross your arms over your chest and let out a breath. “I definitely don’t agree with your views and am very hurt about what you said and had this been in any other setting... I definitely wouldn’t be talking to you.” You say with a unhumorous chuckle, “But we’re stuck on an island for who knows how long and it’s miserable enough with other people but alone, I don’t think anyone can handle that.”
Shelby almost immediately starts crying after you finish your sentence. You stand there for a second before moving closer to her, “Can I hug you?” You ask, making sure it was okay because Shelby was vulnerable right now. She nods her head and you wrap your arms around her shoulders and let her cry into your shoulder. “I kissed Toni.” Shelby whispers out and you almost miss it. “Wow... I was not expecting that.” You say calmly to not freak Shelby out. “Do you want to talk about it?” Shelby shakes her head while it was against your shoulder. “Not now, maybe later though.” You nod your head and squeeze her a little tighter as the two of you relax against the rocks, the alcohol bottle being used again.
---
“I won’t say anything else until I get to see one of the girls.” You say, faking the calmness in your voice and face. The two men in front of you could barely look you in the face, which causes you to scoff. “What? You’ve never seen a scar before?” You ask as put the eye patch back on that covered a majority of the scar that ran horizontally across your face and your now empty eye socket. “Pussies.” You mumble as the men seem to relax as you cover it back up. “I guess we can make an exception...” The white guy said making eye contact with the black one. You hadn’t attempted to learn their names, knowing that you wanted to get out of this place as soon as possible. “Let me guess you wanna see Leah, right?” The white guy asks and you roll your eyes. “Of course I would like to see my girlfriend.” You respond trying not to buck at the therapist in front of you. You didn’t like him at all.
You walked in silence in between the two men, trying to memorize all the turns to get to the room. “You have 5 minutes.” The agent said as he opened the door and held it open for you. You immediately smile when you see Leah standing in the middle of the room, her smile matching yours. You both meet in the middle of the room giving each other a tight hug. You look behind you at the men still standing in the door. “Can we have a second, I want to kiss my girlfriend and it’s kind of weird to have two middle age men watch while I do that... Unless you two get off on it or something?” You ask the men behind you, the agent looks embarrassed and backs out of the doorway. The therapist gives you a hard look before doing the same. You smirk and turn around to say something when Leah grabs the back of your head and pulls you into a heated kiss. As the two of you kiss, you sneakily slide a piece of paper under Leah’s bra strap. The two of you kiss before the door opens again and you get pulled away from Leah by the agent who wants to leave fast, still embarrassed by what you had said earlier. “I love you!” You yell as you yell as you get walked down the hallway by the agent, the therapist talking to Leah with the door open. “Love you too!” You hear her yell back and smirk as you make your way to your room.
After seeing you again and talking to the therapist, Leah stands over the sink, out of view of the camera and opened your note.
“We aren’t the only ones.”

slip-up
I’m so mad because I accidentally deleted orders and I wrote it so long ago that I don’t remember how to rewrite it. So here’s a smut that I hopefully won’t delete.
pairing: steve rogers x reader
description: you and steve were friends with benefits. and that’s it, until you say something that fucks it up.
warnings: smut, unprotected sex, but fluffy ending under the cut.
word count: 2.1k
Tumblr media
In a moment of ecstasy and bliss, you said it. Usually, you were very self-aware and always thought before you spoke, but for some reason, your mind disconnected from your mouth. In your defense, anyone would lose themselves a little if Steve’s dick was buried into them while his hand held their shoulder down toward the mattress. His other hand gripped your waist roughly, but you liked it that way. When you started your agreement, you made it clear that it was only a fuck. It wasn’t making love, but rough, hot sex that leaves you keening and Steve wanting more.
The impersonal, fast fucks became a regular routine for both of you, but at some point, the line between friendship and something more began to blur. Instead of leaving after the deed was done, Steve began hanging around. It started with him just cleaning you up and if needed, picking you up and bringing you to your bed. But lately, he’s stayed around for hours just talking. You told yourself that he was just being friendly, but also, friends didn’t constantly shove their dicks inside their friend.
It had been a good day for the most part. The last donut was available, Nat didn’t take you down too hard during training and you even beat her in one round. The day was made even better when you received two light taps on your thigh during dinner. When you and Steve started your tryst, you established a code for when you wanted to meet. When you felt his soft fingers on your bare thighs, you had to contain your smile as you took a drink from your glass.
Eleven o’clock rolls around and as expected, you hear a knock on your door. You quietly give him permission to enter and he opens the door. Closing it behind him, Steve takes no time and instantly kisses up and down your neck. It’s hot and heavy, but you still yearn for him to move up to your lips. He never does and you know why, but still, a girl can dream.
He moves you back onto the bed and you let him flip you onto your stomach. You’re only wearing an oversized shirt and thin panties, knowing they’d be quickly torn off. You could usually tell Steve’s mood by how he takes off your clothes. Today, his rushed, frenzied pushing of fabric and tearing of panties tells you that he’s in no mood to talk. You let him take all your clothes off, lifting up when needed until you’re bare underneath him. Steve removes his hands from you to take off his own clothing and something inside you wants to beg him to touch you again. Luckily it doesn’t take long before his one hand is on your hip. The other is probably guiding his cock toward your pussy. You feel him begin to press and you bite your lip to prevent a moan from slipping out. Whether or not Steve heard the small murmur beneath him, he continues and in one slow stroke, thrusts himself inside you, causing your moans to overlap. The initial stretch always stings a little, no matter how often you two have sex. Early on, you realized that neither of you had the patience for foreplay, so the stretch has become normal. You didn’t complain and if you had to admit, it made his dick feel even better.
Steve waits his usually couple of seconds before beginning consistent thrusts. The bed starts moving at his weight and you pray that the soundproof walls are strong enough to block the rhythmic thumping. Steve’s one hand stays at your hip while the other rests at the base of your neck.
By now, you know what he likes, so you moan out, “Faster, Steve. Please.” He would have gone faster anyway, but hearing you beg spurs him on even more. His slow, deep pace quickens until his hips snap against your ass. The sounds from between your legs are like a porno and again, you mentally thank Tony for making all the residential rooms soundproof.
Your quiet moans and soft breathing turn into loud whines and pleas. “That feel good, baby? Like feeling my cock buried in that tight pussy?” Steve asks. His dirty talk has immensely improved since you first started and you clench around him. Steve’s grunts are interrupted by a longer moan and you know that he’s close. You feel yourself getting a little hazy, so lost in pleasure that you feel your eyelids flutter.
Between Steve’s pounding and your clit being rubbed against your mattress, you feel yourself start to reach your peak. He probably feels it too as he grips your hip a little harder and pushes you down a bit more. A few more thrusts and you’re done for. You scream as your release finally comes.
Steve keeps going, now chasing his own high. The hazy feeling intensifies and you feel disorientated. You ask loopily, “Gonna cum, daddy?”
Steve groans loudly followed by his cum shooting inside you. After he comes down from his high, Steve pulls out of you. Luckily you fucked on a mattress because you are so tired that you feel like you could pass out. You hear the jangle of Steve’s belt and like the first time you hooked up, Steve leaves immediately.
You wake up to light peeking out from the bottom sliver of your blinds. Struggling to sit up, you look down and see dried cum on your thighs. Memories of last night flood your mind making you blush a bit. Furrowing your brows, you’re confused why Steve didn’t clean you up. You’ve never told him to, but it’s become a bit of an unspoken thing to do.
You get up and feel your legs wobble. He went hard last night. So hard that the last few moments are a blur. Sex with Steve is always amazing, but something about last night made you feel extra fucked out. Shakily walking to the bathroom, you clean yourself up before heading downstairs for breakfast.
Stepping out of the elevator, you, unfortunately, see Nat, Bucky, and Sam. You try to hide your shaky legs as you walk to the fridge. You greet everyone with a quick good morning before Steve walks in. He’s covered in a thin sheen of sweat and his already tight shirt looks like it’s about to rip off of his body. You smile at him, but he doesn’t smile back.
You think that he just didn’t see you, so you brush it off. But you become more suspicious when he tries to create as much space as possible when grabbing food from the fridge. Sometimes Steve would get away with a couple quick touches in front of the team, as it seems he can’t go a day without touching you. They’d write it off as an accident, but you knew what Steve meant. So when he avoided you like the plague, you knew something was wrong.
Throughout the day, Steve keeps a safe six feet away from you at all times. His odd behavior was especially noticeable during meals. Usually, he’d sit right beside you so he can ‘accidentally’ brush his hand against your thigh or even more. But today, he sat at the head of the table and farthest from you.
After dinner, Steve left immediately, muttering something about paperwork. Nat gave him a look that meant what the fuck is up with you, but he ignored it. Once he left the room, Nat asks, “Did you do something to piss him off?”
“No, I don’t think so,” you respond honestly. You search your brain for any reason he’s acting so weird. The thought of Steve mad at you eats at your brain and you’ve had enough.
“You’ve been ignoring me.” You ask, bursting into his room. He’s writing something, but definitely not doing paperwork as he claimed. You know it’s rude to barge in, but you need answers, “Why?” You close the door behind you and walk into his room. Steve doesn’t look up from his desk.
“I’m not,” Steve responds. You both know he’s lying, so you press on.
“Yes, you are. This morning, you wouldn’t even go near me and you didn’t even sit by me at dinner.” you protest. When you say your reasons out loud, they sound ridiculous, but you know the validity behind them.
Steve closes whatever he was writing and stands up to face you. He’s still a good seven feet away when he sighs, admitting, “It was just too much.”
Unsure what he’s talking about, you ask, “What was too much? Hooking up? If you don’t want to do it anymore, that’s fine, but I don’t want that to affect our friendship,”
“No, it’s not that.” Steve shuts you down quickly. He furrows his brow a little and asks, “Do you remember what happened last night?”
“No, not really. Everything that happened after I came is a bit foggy.” you tell him and Steve makes a face that can only be described as a mix of realization and disappointment.
“You called me...” Steve trails off as if he’s scared to say it. He clears his throat before continuing, “You called me daddy.” Your eyes widen as your jaw drops. You can’t believe you called him that. You’ve never called a man daddy. You can’t imagine what came over you to think that was okay with Steve.
“Oh my god, Steve I didn’t remember that. If that made you uncomfortable, I’m sorry. It just slipped out.” you apologize profusely.
“No, it’s not that.” Steve cuts off your apology. You tilt your head a little in confusion. “Actually, I rather liked it when you called me that.” Steve clarifies, dancing around the word. He clears his throat and adds, “I just, feel like it’s become more than sex.”
“Steve.” you don’t know what to say as you feel your mouth go dry. You were afraid of this. You thought you were the only one to catch feelings, but now he did too. This could mess up the entire dynamic of the team and you don’t know if either of you could handle that.
“You feel it too, don’t you?” Steve slowly walks towards you so that there’s only a foot or two of space. You bite your lip and try to wrap your brain around this.
“If I agree, what does that mean for us?” you ask, struggling to make eye contact with him.
“It means that...” Steve starts, grabbing your hands lightly. You let him as you move your hand in his. Searching for the right words, he says, “It means that I won’t leave right after we have sex. I’ll stay and maybe even fall asleep with you. It’ll also mean that we’re not just hooking up.”
You smile at that thought. You loved Steve and he loved you, but only as friends. Anything more would be amazing. Smiling bashfully, you reply, “I’d love that.” Steve smiles his bright, beautiful smile and pulls you into a kiss. You didn’t know what it would feel like. You’ve imagined it but could never settle on something clear. But now, you know that it was everything and nothing you imagined.
His lips are soft as he kisses you gently. It’s a stark contrast to the hot and heavy sex you’re used to. He holds you in his arms like you could break as he pulls you toward him. It feels like the breath is knocked out of your lungs until quite literally, the breathe is out of your lungs and you need to pull away.
“If I knew calling you daddy would’ve gotten me this, I would’ve done it a lot sooner,” you jest. Steve rolls his eyes and gives you a quick peck on the lips.
“Do you want to stay the night? Like, sleep here with me. But not sleep with me, just y’know. Sleep... with me?” Steve asks awkwardly and you laugh at how he bumbled through that.
“Yes, of course .I’ll sleep here with you.” you reply more smoothly. You walk over to Steve drawers and take out a shirt. It feels weird stripping in Steve’s room without it leading to sex. If anything, it feels more intimate as you slip off your shirt and replace it with his.
Steve’s already under the covers as you walk over to his bed and go in. Laying you head on his chest, you tell him, “I really like you, Steve.”
You don’t have to look up to see him smile as he says, “I really like you, too.”

Early days of Tony being Iron Man and people being ??? at this joint venture or what have you of SI and WE developing body armor, right?
(Because SI may not be in the weapons manufacturing business anymore, but there are other ways of protecting military troops and LEOs and so on. Also, WE has been in that business for a while and it’s like, who better to partner up together, right?)
And it’s just this thing that keeps going, snowballs into a fairly profitable venture. Enough so that Tony doesn’t have to completely design something from scratch for the spy twin or Steve from the ground up when the Avengers form.
Still.
That’s not to say they’re expecting to walk into the communal living room in the tower to find Tony going over specs for body armor with Bruce Wayne or the Drake kid he adopted, you know? Weird how knowledgeable about the stuff they are because everyone knows about Brucie’s reputation as something as an idiot and so on, but they probably had someone go over it with them beforehand or Tony’s run them through it, and anyway, unexpected.
(As unexpected as discovering a Bat or two lurking/skulking about the rooftops of NYC on random nights and so on while said Waynes are in town.)
Tony looking like he’s trying not to smile while Brucie is calling the kid Tiger and being obnoxious in front of the team. (And the muffled laughter when whichever Avenger stumbled on them this time leaves the room because what even is the deal with all that???)
And then!
Some fancy gala or fundraiser or whatever being attacked by the villain of the week and Brucie being a klutz who somehow manages to avoid being perforated by bullets and incidentally knocking Tony or some other rich socialite out of the way and so befuddled at what’s happening?
The kid with this long-suffering sigh while being taken hostage and scowling at Tony when he reassures him it’ll be fine, because hey, Tony’s Iron Man. And also other Avengers will be there soon.
Tables being turned when there’s a kidnapping and a Bat swoops in before the Avengers get there and Tony is like “My hero,” and a stoic Batman or Red Robin (if not both) while Tony is :DDDDDDDDD at them, and Tony, pls don’t antagonize the nice vigilante superheros who just saved your life.
And then!
Like, a few years down the road some big (attempted) world-ending event and the “WAIT, you’re who???” moment where the Avengers realize Brucie is also Batman and that kid of his (which one, you’ll have to be specific, and also yes, they are also vigilante superheroes, it’s the family business) and it’s like.
“How could you not know?”
Because it’s not like Bruce and the others were working all that hard to hide it, you know?
Like, they never came out and said it, but the Waynes being in town the same time various Bats were spotted all over the place? The suspicious timing of it all?
Odd little jokes and Tony being all >:DDDDDDDDDD and so on???
(And maybe Tony and Bruce with this friendship that spans back to their school days and general weirdness around one another the Avengers thought had more to do with being ~business rivals???)
The Avengers being like “...” while the Bats are like *incredibly judgemental side-eyes* and Tony is dying laughing because he told you Bruce, didn’t he? He fucking told you.
(Natasha and Clint maaaaaybe had suspicions, but never anything concrete.)
And then mentions of previous thwarted kidnappings (Tony never mentioned to the Avengers) with Tony and Brucie - because Brucie is just such a klutz and just a complete slapstick comedy farce and so on.
Even later Tony and Bruce on a tower balcony while Avengers and various Bats mingle in a quiet little yay, the world didn’t end, go us \o/ party takes place inside and it’s like.
They’ve got a good thing going in their lives, y’know? Tony with the whole Avengers thing and Bruce with his little brood of Batkids and such, and who would have guessed they’d ever get here one day?
And then there’s some commotion inside and the two of them are like oh, no, because they know their team/family/kids, and it can only end badly because horrible, horrible people and Tony just had walls fixed the other day, and anyway, shenanigans???

Still your little girl
Request
Summary:  Could you write a stucky x daughter! reader where they find her she is in a rough spot and the decide to adopt her and she starts dating Loki and they freak out because he’s “bad” and they are over protective of her if you don’t write Stucky you can you make Bucky or Steve please?
warning: fluff, language, angst
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"There's something wrong with her," Bucky whispers as he comes up behind his husband, who was washing the dish.
"What do you mean?" Steve asked, not paying attention. Bucky always thought there was something wrong with their daughter; it was usually nothing just teenage or female things she handled herself or went to one of the girls.
"I mean, she's been acting weird lately."
"that can be expected; she just turned 18. It's finally settling in that she is an adult, and she'll be graduating soon. she has an early life crisis."
"no, I think this is something more." Bucky persists
"If she needs us, she'll come to us."
"I don't know."
"Bucky, You're looking too much into it. Leave her be."
"I don't know its just... It's been eight years. She's changed so much."
"I'd hope so consider how we found her."
Bucky and Steve had found (Y/n) on the streets at the age of ten. Her mother had died six months prior, and she was making her rounds in the foster care system. She had gone through several foster homes all abusive in one way or another at the last one had been the last straw she had finally run away. Bucky immediately took a liking to her after turning her into the police. They went to Tony, pulled some strings, and began to paperwork to foster her. Then after a year, they went ahead and adopted her. She had been apart of their family ever since.
"She's grown into a beautiful young lady."
"Yeah," Bucky said, glaring at the back of his daughter's head, "what if it's a boy?"
"What?"
"You said it yourself. (Y/n) is a beautiful young lady. What if she's talking to boys now and doesn't want to tell us?" Bucky said Steve could see the panic rising in his eyes. Drying his hands, Steve pulled Bucky into a hug and a gentle kiss.
"She'll come to us when she wants to when she needs to. She is beautiful, but she's also strong to don't forget that. She's our little girl, after all. If it's a boy, we'll handle that bridge when we cross it. m'kay?"
"I guess. When we cross that bridge, I'll kick who's ever ass is on the other side. Beat his ass."
"I know you will." Steve gives him a kiss, "Hey, sweetheart, want to watch a movie?"
-
(Y/n) wished her fathers a good night and closed her door. She smiles to herself as she turns around, "Hi."
"Hello, My Darling"
"You're going to get me in trouble." (Y/n) said as she approached Loki, who was lying in all his glory across her bed.
"Well, I am the god of mischief."
(Y/n) giggled, crawling on to her bed and straddling his hips. "Yes, you are," she leans down, kissing him. "I think my dads are started to get suspicious," she whispered against his lips.
"oh no, whatever shall we do," he said as he rolled over on top of her. "I guess we weren't sneaky enough."
"I'm serious," she says, pushing him away slightly "what if they find out?"
"What if they found out?"
(Y/n) pushed him away, sitting up fully. "I don't know if you realized this, but they aren't very fond of you. And I don't want to hurt them, but I don't want to lose you either." (Y/n) watched as his face fell, and he backed away, but she wrapped her arms around his waist.
"I'm not- I don't want to hide you, but I'm not ready to tell them yet. After I graduate, we'll tell them after I graduate by then; I'll have moved to college. They'll have less control. I just... I don't want to upset them, but I don't lose you either. Just let me figure it out, please?"
Loki kissed her forehead, wrapping his arms around her "Take your time love. I'm not going anywhere".
“I’m sorry. Let me make it up to you”
- "Am I cute?" (Y/n) asked as she did a spin her cap and gown.
"You're adorable. And you're going to do amazing. You've got your speech ready?" Loki said
"Yeah... I'm nervous".
"You are valedictorian. You deserve this. You've worked so hard for it. There's no need to be nervous" Loki stood up, pulling her into his arms and kissing her forehead "You're amazing, and you're going to do amazing."
"What did I do to deserve you?"
He chuckles, "That's my line" he pulls her into a kiss.
"Hey, sweetheart, are you....." Bucky stopped as he stood in front of his door watching as the couple slowly pulled from their embrace Steve came up behind him looking into the scene as well. One didn't need to be a genius to figure out what's happening.
"(Y/n)..."
"I... I'm" she didn't know what to say she was speechless, scared, she felt guilty. A ding from her phone brought her back to reality.
"That's your friends. You should go. Don't leave them waiting." Loki gave her her phone and her purse and pushed her towards the door towards her dad's.
"But-"
"It's okay. I've got this. We'll meet you there. Go"
(Y/n) quickly made it passed her dads and ran down the hall. They didn't stop her instead of focusing on Loki.
"When did all this start ?" Bucky asked
"Last I checked you weren't anywhere near her or Peter."
"Well, I don't follow the rules. Our friendship began a year, and I began courting her six months ago."
"Did you think to ask us?"
"Would you have let me." "No"
"Listen," Steve stepped forward, "we'll deal with this later right now we need to get to the graduation ceremony."
-
At the ceremony Loki made sure to stay as far away from Bucky and Steve as possibly. Al though they ignored what happened and tried to go on with the day everyone else could still feel the tension even though they had no clue about the situation. The three themselves tried their best to ignore each other and (Y/n) coming on stage for her speech sure did do the trick.
-
“That was amazing, sweetheart” Pepper said giving her a hug
“She’s right you did great kid” Tony said ruffling her hair.
(Y/n) had hugs, gifts, and everything else from everyone else but Loki and her dads. She was actively avoiding all three of them and avoiding the the conversation which she knew was coming and had to be had. She didn’t want to have it at all but she knew it was best to have it now rather than having this tension sit all night and talking later.
“I’m going to ride with my dads to the restaurant. You guys should go a head we’ll meet you there” (Y/n) said shooing the others away they didn’t need to be told twice they all left her there with her dads and Loki. The three found and empty hallway within the school to talk privately.
“so...” Steve started off looking at the two. (Y/n) slowly took Loki’s hand in hers
“Daddy, dad, this is my boyfriend Loki-”
“no”
“he is kind to me-”
“no stop not happening”
“he is good to me-”
“I said no”
“and he treats me good”
“And he’s much older than. If you haven’t forgotten he destroyed New York and tried to take over the world.” Steve said crossing his arms over his chest giving his best captain voice and stance.
“He’s changed. He’s an avenger now, you’re teammate. He has shown how good he can be. You’ve seen the good he can do-”
“NO” Steve shouted “ this isn’t happening and it will end now. He’s a grown ass man and you are a child. He’s a criminal-”
“And so is he or have you forgotten he kill dozen of people for Hydra. His hands aren’t clean and neither are you. If you’re going to scold me at least don’t be a hypocrite about it.” (Y/n) said taking Loki and marching down the hall with him in him in to. She stopped “ Oh and by the way, I’m 18 now I’m not a child anymore I can do who and what I want.”
And with that she march off with Loki trailing after her dumbfound.
“Um, love?”
“Don’t. I just can’t right now. I need a walk. Just... hold my hand, please.”
“Okay.”
-
“Can you believe her?”  Steve said going off about his daughter and what she had said to him.
“I can”
Truth be told Bucky was a bit upset and hurt that she brought up his past and the unsaviory acts he committed under the influence of Hydra. But she wasn’t wrong. Bucky did do some bad but he has proved him self to be better and good just as loki has. He had changed just as Loki has. He was an avenger just as loki was. And he was older than Steve just as Loki was older than (Y/n).
Honestly it was a bit hypocritical to be against her relationship for those reasons. He was just upset they were dating and didn’t say anything that they had kept it a secret. That Loki didn’t even talk about the possibility of dating their daughter with them. He considered Loki a friend and his friend was dating his daughter that’s just weird.
“You’re okay with this?!”
“no I’m not okay with this but I’m not a hypocrite either”
“What do you mean?”
“she’s right. Loki has a bad past, I have a bad past. He killed some people, I killed so people. He’s older than (Y/n), I’m older than you.”
“They are not like us”
“It’s like looking into some weird reflection Steve.”
“ You aren’t upset about this”
“ Of course, I’m upset but obviously not for the same reasons you’re upset. I’m upset that she’s dating someone had she hid it or that she felt like she need hide it. I’m upset because I don’t know how far in this relationship they’ve gone. I’m upset because this has been going on for months and I didn’t realize.
“I’m not upset she’s dating him. I’m upset that she didn’t feel comfortable enough to tell us she was dating him. But now I kind of understand why she didn’t.”
“She’s our little girl-”
“We’re here. Be civil.” Bucky didn’t even let him finish his sentence parking the car and stepping out right now he was done with his husband’ shit and just like his daughter he needed some space.
-
The dinner went about as well as it could with all the tension. (Y/n) sat far away from her dads and didn’t speak to them the entire dinner. No one commented everyone trying to remain blissfully ignorant.
“Can I talk to you?” Bucky asked her when they arrived back at the tower. (Y/n) sighed and nodded as she watched the others make their way inside. The two fo them leaned on the hood of the car. “ I’m sorry about how I reacted earlier. I want you to understand that me and Steve do not share the same reason for disliking Loki.”
“Why don’t you like him?”
“I just think he didn’t do it right. You two have been dating for so long and you never told us. I’m upset that you didn’t feel comfortable enough to tell us about your relationship. Also the sneaking around. Loki is an okay Guy I’ve seen that. But he’s also a bit sneak and that has got me questioning his motives.... I don’t know.”
“He’s been treating me good, daddy.”
“I’ve seen that. I saw that at dinner. How you to were holding hands underneath the table. How you guys whispered to each other. Or smiled at each when you thought no one was looking. Table full of assassins and super heroes everyone was watching. Everyone knows now FYI.”
“So, what now? I’m dating Loki.”
Bucky sighed he kissed her forehead “well, I’m definitely going to have to give him the dad talk. Which is weird since I consider him a friend.”
“I’m sorry I’m dating your friend. I’m a weird daughter.”
“That’s okay. We’re a weird family. And don’t worry about dad he’ll come around eventually.”
-
Eventually was three days later.
(Y/n) was in her room cuddling with Loki. They weren’t doing much besides holding each other and talking about random things. Suddenly Loki pulled away without a word and but distances between them. (Y/n) went to ask him what was wrong when she heard a knock on her door.
“Come in”
Steve walked in with a small sigh of relief when he found the apart.
“I am going to be a nuisance to Thor” Loki gave her a kiss on the forehead and teleported out of the room.
“Hey” Steve said as he slowly stepped into the room. (Y/n) didn’t say anything. “ Can I have a seat?” she nodded and he took a seat on the edge of the bed.
“Um I owe you an apologize and an explanation. I ... I don’t want you to have a boyfriend”
“That doesn’t sound like an apologize”
“You’re my daughter my little girl. At first I thought I would be okay with it and when Bucky was throwing a fit about it I just pushed it aside because it wasn’t really a thought. But then you got a boyfriend and like...no one deserves you because you’re a little goddess.”
“And Loki is a god”
“You are a baby, You are my baby and no one can take care of you as well as I can. And I don’t want anyone to take care of you like I do. If you get a boyfriend and you start having relationships then you’re not ours anymore.... All those things I said at the school those were just flaws. I was looking for a reason to hate him and disapprove. You’re right he’s a good person. I just don’t want to let you go.”
Crawling across her bed (Y/n) put herself in Steve’s lap and wrapped her arms his shoulders.
“You’re not loosing me. I’m still here, I’m still you’re little girl. I’m just in love now and-”
“You’re in love?!”
“I’m in love, daddy. I love him. Although I haven’t told him yet. I really do”
“My god, you’re really are all grown up” he said wrapping his arms around her and kissed her forehead “ Can you go back to being small”
“no I don’t think so, daddy.” She giggled before sobering up “ I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. You’re still my baby. Just let me hold for a little while longer.” she just curled into his further and let her daddy held her. Just because she was a big girl now doesn’t mean she wasn’t his little girl anymore. Even if she was with Loki now (Y/n) was still his girl.

My thoughts on 13RW Season 4 (SPOILERS)
So I originally wasn’t going to write a review, because if I’m completely honest, I’m still in shock by that finale... but here we go...
Overall, I enjoyed this season a lot more than season 3. This time, we didn’t have Ani’s annoying narration, that weird crap that was Bryce/Ani and that Bryce “redemption” bullshit that the writers shoved down our throats last season, so kudos for that. Too bad the ending fucked everything up.
Now, let’s go character by character:
Jessica: Jessica has always been my favorite character (besides Hannah), so I was really disappointed by her arc this season... if we can call it that. Her reaction to Justin breaking up with her was really immature. I understand that she was hurt, but Justin was right, he wasn’t in a position to be in a relationship and needed to focus on his recovery, so for Jessica to go after the first guy she could find (Diego) to get back at him... it was shitty. Also, what the hell, Jessica? Diego spent the whole season tormenting Clay and defending Tyler’s rapist. Aren’t Clay and Tyler your friends? Why are you sleeping with someone who is messing with people you claim to care about? And please don’t say it’s for “information”, because you clearly liked him, even tho he was an asshole. Once again, the writers made Jessica’s storylines all about boys, first it was Alex and Justin, now it was Justin and Diego. And to give one final “fuck you” to her character, they implied she ended up with Diego. “Ask me in a month”, um, so it’s going to take you a month to get over Justin? Okay, cool.
Clay: I’ve always loved Clay. Always. He’s flawed, he’s stupid, he’s too stubborn... but he cares. I’ll say this tho, he was a complete ASSHOLE towards Justin during that party, and he should have apologized for all those awful things he said, because that shit was NOT okay. I appreciate that he got help, and Dr. Ellman was a fantastic character, but his arc got old real fast. Clay has some fucked up hallucinations, Clay has a breakdown and makes a scene in front of people, Clay claims everything is fine when clearly it’s not. We get it, he thinks he’s Batman and can handle all this shit alone. Well, clearly, he can’t.
Ani: I’ll admit, I actually liked Ani this season. I think it’s because her screentime was reduced (she missed big moments like the camping trip and the shooting drill), and she wasn’t inserting herself in everyone’s business like last season. I appreciate her standing up for her friends against Winston and apologizing to Jessica for sleeping with Bryce, but that NEVER should have happened. It was weird as hell how she kept defending Bryce in s3, insisting he wasn’t a monster (he was a serial rapist who raped your friend, how is that not a monster). Her “explanation” as to why she slept with Bryce was crap. “I was lonely and stupid”, well, aww!! Lots of people are lonely and stupid, but that isn’t an excuse to defend a serial rapist and sleep with him multiple times. And even before she slept with him, she kept hanging out with him, playing poker and laughing like nothing was wrong. Weird as hell. At the end of the day, I still don’t know who Ani is, other than “the girl who liked Bryce and then liked Clay.” I’m 100% grateful that she and Clay broke up, that was never going to work, so I’ll drink to that. It was also annoying how she and Clay took their sweet time to tell the others about Winston. STOP KEEPING SECRETS. I still insist that the writers should have kept Sheri and Ani shouldn’t have existed.
Zach: Seriously, where the hell was Zach’s mom to check on her son? The whole season was basically “oh, look, Zach’s drunk!!” He was a hot mess and all his friends didn’t do shit to help him until the last minute. I know Winston manipulated him, but seriously, telling the enemy that you beat up Bryce?? Not cool, dude. And don’t get me started on that scene where they “implied” he was going to assault that drunk girl. Zach has flaws, sure, but he ISN’T a rapist, and neither is Clay (I’m talking about that weird scene where he hallucinates Bryce encouraging him to assault that girl at the frat house). The writers clearly didn’t give a fuck about Zach. Remember in s2 when he told his mom he had suicidal thoughts?? What happened to that?? I’m glad he came to his senses in the end, but he obviously needed help with his addiction.
Tyler: I felt bad for Tyler because his friends didn’t trust him, but I also sorta get it. He was acting hella shady and I get that the cops told him not to say anything, but... dude, you scared the living hell out of Clay with those guns at the end of s2, how are your friends not going to be suspicious? Like in 13RW fashion, his storyline got dragged for too long, but I think he was right when he called out Clay and Tony about their friendship. I liked his friendship with Estela, that was sweet. But overall Tyler didn’t get that much to do this season. I didn’t like how they made him feel bad about Monty. Monty raped him and belonged in jail, it isn’t Tyler’s fault someone decided to kill him.
Alex: GAY KING. The only character who didn’t annoy me this season (besides Charlie). Bryce and Monty apologists, how are you feeling?? My boy didn’t go to jail like y’all wanted it!! No “justice” for the rapists!! Beautiful, amazing, brilliant. In all seriousness, I wish his crush on Zach had been explained a bit more. I don’t think it came out of nowhere, but it would have been nice to spend more time with it. I don’t know how I feel about the whole thing with Winston, he was a Monty apologist so I didn’t want to see another one of my faves sleeping with a rape apologist, so I’m glad he found out the truth in time. Charlie and Alex were so cute together, I wanted him with Zach, but I can’t bring myself to complain because ALEX GOT A HAPPY ENDING, YAY!! He regretted killing Bryce, but it’s like Zach said “maybe he didn’t deserve to die, but NEITHER DO WE”, and he was right. Alex didn’t deserve to have his whole life ruined over a fucking rapist, so I’m glad he got happiness. I just wish his recovery arc after his suicide attempt had been done better, he’s the only character in the show who is a suicide survivor and they never focused on that. Shame, tbh.
Tony: I don’t have much to say about Tony. He was being hella stubborn about not going to college and staying in town, so I’m glad his dad knocked some sense into him. He got a happy ending and got to see his sister again, so that was nice. Tony always had to deal with so much crap, so I’m happy he ended up happy.
Winston: Now this dude didn’t annoy me as much as I thought he would, but... he was weird. He became obsessed with Monty after meeting him twice, and then obsessed with Alex after dating him for two weeks. What was his reason?? Why did he fall in love so quickly?? I thought we were going to get some backstory to explain his behavior, but we didn’t get shit, except that scene in the first episode with his mom where he seemed like some lonely rich kid. I’m glad he let go of Monty in the end and didn’t ruin Alex’s life, but other than making a bunch of passive-aggressive comments and staring at people, he didn’t do much. The trailer made him seem like some mastermind villain, and in the end... he wasn’t.
Diego: How are you going to spend the whole season calling Clay a psycho/crazy, when you’re out there pulling pranks, beating people up, and defending a rapist?? Check yourself first, Diego. He was so annoying with his “I miss Monty” crap, like how are you going to give a big speech about how great Monty was when Tyler, the guy he raped, was sitting right in front of you??!!  I wish he had faced some consequences for all the shit he did to Clay, like “omg, you brought a knife!!, dude YOU left the knife in there. I’m glad he let things go in the end, but JFC, he was annoying. When Zach told him to suck his dick, I cheered so hard.
Justin: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... HA. I’m laughing because I don’t wanna start crying again. Are the writers fucking serious?? After EVERYTHING they did with Justin, turning him into a better person, making him Clay’s brother, getting him back together with Jessica, EVERYTHING...and he dies?? And even before his death, they needed to torture him one last time and kill off his mom, have Clay and Jessica treat him like shit, and make him feel like nobody wanted him. Wow, what a brilliant idea. The series finale would have been perfect if they hadn’t killed off Justin. He deserved to graduate and live a long, happy life. I think the writers just wanted to have one final tragedy and controversial storyline, so they did this cruel and unnecessary crap. I’m disgusted, tbh.
Bryce and Monty: I’m so, so happy we got ZERO Bryce flashbacks and ZERO Monty flashbacks. FUCK these two rapists. I didn’t feel sorry for either of them, and I hope future shows do better and the humanizing of rapists stops. We already know rapists are human, they aren’t aliens who come from another planet, but the focus needs to be on the VICTIMS. I know they weren’t going to bring back Katherine Langford and Brandon Larracuente for a 5-second cameo, but hallucination!Justin should have been hanging out with Hannah and Jeff, not Bryce. Bryce wasn’t Justin’s brother, he treated him like shit and raped his girlfriend, and the whole “it’s okay to love people who do bad shit” is bullshit. There’s nothing wrong with hating rapists/abusers and bad people in general (like racists, homophobes, etc). Well, at least the two rapists are dead and can never hurt anyone again.
Say whatever you want about Hannah Baker, but this show suffered a HUGE loss when Katherine walked out of that door during her final scene.
They should have sent Bryce’s ass to jail at the end of s2, and the last two seasons should have been about ALL the character’s recoveries, with everyone getting proper characterization, good storylines, and focus on the friendships and family dynamics. The murder mystery and cover-up stuff ended up being really stupid and pointless. The writers prioritized shock value over proper storytelling, and that’s a shame because the cast is really talented, and the characters had the potential to be better than what they actually were.
Goodbye, 13 Reasons Why. I’ll check out the cast’s future projects, but the writers/producers can GTFO.

Thanks for Watching part 3
Hey everyone! Yesterday, I reached 1000 followers! I’m a little shocked and a little in awe and I certainly never thought I would have this many so thank you for following and listening to my ramblings. I have a couple things planned for this milestone but I don’t have the time to talk about all of them right now, so for now I thought it might be nice to update Thanks for Watching and let our boys finally get together :)
Also on ao3 here
~
Okay, so he’s known Tony for six months now. It’s not super weird that they’re still not dating right? He knows that Tony thinks he’s attractive—he says it in just about every video that Steve’s in now—and he’s pretty sure that Tony likes the him under the hotness too—or at least, Tony makes sure to reassure him of that after every video—and he definitely thinks Tony’s pretty great.
But they’re still not dating.
He knows it frustrates both Bucky and Rhodey, who ask them about it at least once a week. He’s pretty sure it frustrates Tony’s fans too who always squee about them in the comments. He thinks that’s the term Tony uses.
Squee? Squeezes? Squeegy? No, that can’t be right.
Whatever.
They’re always talking about how cute Steve and Tony are in the comments and wondering when they’re going to start dating. But, hey, Steve’s taking his time, okay? They say the best relationships are those built on a good, solid friendship and that’s what he’s building with Tony right now.
He’s not afraid, no matter what Bucky says.
He’s not.
He might be.
A little.
Maybe a little more than a little.
Okay, so maybe he’s terrified. It’s just that the more he gets to know Tony, the more he gets to see what an incredible, bright, vivacious man he is, the less he feels…worthy, maybe. He’s just Steve Rogers. He can barely keep up with whatever Tony’s chattering about and he wears grandpa pants to go out and he only has followers on any of his social media because of Tony’s shout out. What could he have to offer someone like Tony Stark?
He looks up from where he’s working on his latest commission—a portrait of someone’s wife for their twenty-sixth anniversary since that’s apparently the art one—to where Tony is at the other end of the workshop, doing a Q&A. He does them periodically, usually for subscriber milestones but sometimes for other reasons like an anniversary or a birthday or when he gets enough requests for another one.
“Stuckinmicanopy wants to know how Dum-E got his name,” Tony reads off the screen. In the corner, Dum-E perks up at the sound of his name. “You know, that’s a really good question and it’s one that I don’t think I’ve ever really talked about before. So back at MIT, when Rhodey-bear and I were first working on Dum-E’s programming, he was originally named Laundr because he was supposed to be a laundry bot since we didn’t like doing laundry. And who can blame us? Laundry was created by the devil. Anyway, so Dum-E was supposed to be a laundry bot but then he fell down the stairs like three times in a row and we couldn’t get the bug out of his programming so I called him a dummy and the name just stuck. The spelling thing happened because on Dum-E’s first birthday, we showed him Wall-E and he was infatuated.”
Steve, who has been watching Dum-E steadily trundle closer throughout Tony’s speech, warningly says, “Tony.”
Just in time, Tony turns to stop Dum-E from spraying him with the fire extinguisher. “Nothing’s even on fire, you useless bot,” he exclaims. “Go back to your corner. Go. Shoo. Off you go.”
He gives Steve an exaggeratedly confused look. Steve laughs and shrugs. “He must have heard his name,” he says.
“Must’ve,” Tony agrees. “Okay, next question. Ooh new one just popped up from bellesbagels: is Steve there with me? Yes, he is. Steve likes to come do his art stuff in the workshop because his roommate isn’t there and because I got him a really great easel for his birthday earlier this year. I would tilt the camera so you could all see him but he’s working on a surprise commission and he doesn’t want anyone to see it until it’s finished. Maybe if the next person asks really nicely, he’ll get up and come over here so you guys can say hi.”
“I’ll get up and go over there now,” Steve says, He leaves his brush in the mug and heads over to join Tony by the computer. “Hi Tony, hi viewers.” He drops a quick kiss on the top of Tony’s head—even if he’ll never admit it, Tony craves affection—waves to the camera and meanders back to his easel.
Tony leans back in his chair to give him a fond smile before returning to his questions. “So apparently a lot of you want to know if Steve often gives me kisses and the answer is yes. Steve and I are very affectionate with each other, me because I’m naturally an affectionate person and Steve because I think he feels sorry for me that Howard doesn’t like me.”
“Hey,” Steve protests.
“I’m kidding. Steve and I are affectionate with each other because we both like each other very much and toxic masculinity is ridiculous. And seriously, everyone should take a chance to feel up those biceps at least once. They’re ridiculously huge. So since not everyone gets to see Steve like I do everyday, I will take one for the team and give Steve as many hugs as I can to make up for it.”
See, it’s things like that that make him think Tony is interested in dating him. But then he always adds a “just kidding” or doesn’t follow it up with asking Steve out and he’s just hopelessly confused.
“Shaylabee wants to know when Steve’s birthday is so they can send him a present next year.” He shoots Steve a questioning look. Steve thinks about it and then nods. He’s gotten packages from followers before. They always get sent to Stark Tower where they can be vetted. “Because he is All-American Grade-A beef, Steve’s birthday is ironically on the 4th of July. Next question: lovelyjules asks if Steve and I are aware that we keep acting like we’re dating.”
He pauses and Steve looks up from his easel. Over by the computer, Tony is frowning at the question. Steve gets it. He knows how much Tony hates it when people act like they have to be dating because they give each other hugs and compliments.
“I’ll take this one,” he offers, standing up and joining Tony again.
“Steve—”
“Nah, it’s fine.” He presses another kiss to the side of Tony’s head. “You get this question a lot. Let me handle it for once.” He looks at the camera and takes a deep breath. “Tony and I would like to remind you about what he just said regarding toxic masculinity. We’re very close friends who express our friendship in a physical way but that doesn’t mean that we have to be dating. Tony isn’t interested in anything like that and I respect his choices.” And then, belatedly so that Tony doesn’t suspect anything. “And I’m not either.”
It comes off as a little lame even to him and he thinks Tony might have gotten suspicious judging by the way he frowns oddly.
But when Steve doesn’t say anything else about it, Tony just goes back to the video and says, “That’s all we’ve got time for today. Thanks for listening to me jabber at you today, I’ll be back with a new Science Bros video next week, and as always, thanks for watching.”
Steve waves as Tony turns off the camera, smiling awkwardly.
“Tony—” he starts to say as soon as the blinking light stops flashing.
“Wait. What do you mean I’m not interested?”
He shifts uncomfortably. “Well, you know, you’re always making jokes—”
“You mean flirting with you?”
“You always tell me that you’re just kidding afterwards!” he exclaims
“Because you always look so uncomfortable!” Tony says. “Are you telling me that you never once minded me hitting on you?”
“Why would I mind? I’ve had a crush on you for months.”
Tony gapes at him. “But you never said anything. You just—you looked at me so I just figured you didn’t feel the same. We could have been dating for months?”
“I—” Something is stirring in Steve’s heart, something that feels a little bit like hope. “Yes?”
Tony breaks out into a huge grin and he throws his arms around Steve, hugging him tight. “Wow, we’re just as idiotic as Rhodey’s been saying we are.”
“Well, I wouldn’t go that far,” Steve argues.
“No, no, Honeybear is always right.”
“We got here, didn’t we?” he points out. “Last I heard, Rhodey was betting on us never getting our shit together.”
Tony laughs brightly, nuzzling deeper into Steve’s chest as he does. Slowly, Steve puts his own arms around Tony. They’ve hugged before, many times really, but this feels…different, momentous even.
“Hey, Tony?” he asks hesitantly, wondering if he’s allowed to do this now.
Tony hums happily.
“Can I—may I, I mean—kiss you?”
His answer is to slide his hands up Steve’s chest, hook around his neck, and pull him down for the softest, gentlest kiss Steve thinks he’s ever had. His own hands slide down to fit around Tony’s waist, bringing him up close as he opens his mouth on a content sigh.
Tony pulls away but doesn’t go far, instead resting his forehead against Steve’s. “That was nice,” he whispers.
“Mmhmm,” Steve agrees. “You want to go out with me tonight? Something low key, maybe?”
“Burgers and milkshakes?”
“Share the milkshake?”
“Would we do any less?” Tony asks, mock-indignantly.
Steve chuckles and kisses Tony again, letting his lips linger. He’s allowed to do this, he gets to have this, have Tony. They’re going to be the disgustingly cute couple driving Bucky and Rhodey crazy, he just knows it.
“No,” he says. “Probably not.”

Snake Eyes - part ten
Pairing: mob!Bucky x reader
Word Count: 3.5K
Warnings: mentions of guns
Summary: ‘Snake eyes’ meaning the worst possible result; a complete lack of success. Getting caught up between two of the biggest mobs in the city was never how you expected your night to go, and falling for a mob boss can only end in disaster.

Part 9
As soon as the words had left Pierce’s mouth, you made the connection. He had to be working for Rumlow.
Rumlow wasn’t stupid enough to be bragging about your place in the Howling Commandos throughout the city, that would only get him caught. So logic leads you straight towards Pierce being associated with him in some way or another.
It had been nearly a week since that run in with Pierce and it was all you’d thought about since. You wanted to tell Bucky, at least give him a hint that this man wasn’t who he thought he was but that would lead to many questions about why you thought that and how you came to that conclusion. You would eventually have to be honest about who you were.
Would he still protect you after you’ve lied to him this whole time?
You couldn’t risk it. Your heart ached at the thought of keeping yet another secret from Bucky. You were possibly putting him in more danger than his current line of work already provided. But you tried to push that thought aside. He could handle it, he’s been doing this all his life.
You had to protect yourself. Your mother had always taught you to be independent, to fend for yourself no matter what. So that’s what you were going to do.
--
After staying in Bucky’s room the night of the abduction, you had gone back to sleeping in your own the day after. You still spent every day in the office with him, however. You had overheard him on the phone to Steve early on in the week allocating his men to different meetings, making sure they were all covered so he could stay home.
“I need to make sure she’s safe,” you heard his quiet voice through the gap in the office door. You were trying to make it look like you were concentrating on the paperwork in front of you, so if he were to look into his office at that moment, he wouldn’t suspect you were eavesdropping on him. You weren’t doing a very good job.
Your heart fluttered at the thought of him wanting to protect you, however. Wanting to be the one that made sure you were safe within his home, even if that meant not keeping up his usual business etiquette.
Throughout the rest of the week, you shared the paperwork between the two of you, getting everything done much quicker but you both stayed in the office once it was all finished. Relishing in each other’s company as much as you could, however there never seemed a moment that matched the one a week ago. It had just never felt right to kiss him since then, but his presence was more than enough for you.
You were both trying your hardest to not make it obvious to the other Commandos what was going on. But they knew.
They all heard your giggles through the doors. The all noticed how neither of you would leave the office all day, sometimes staying into the evening and eating your dinner in there instead of in their dining room with everyone else.
They all adored it. They had never seen Bucky act this way about a girl, they had never seen him so happy. They wanted it to last as long as possible.
Steve was happy for his friend, of course he was. All he wanted was for him to be happy, and if that meant it was with you, then he was glad. Steve had felt like you were part of the family since you were invited to that first meal with them, he always liked to joke you were the newest member of the Commandos despite you trying to brush his comments off every time.
But something was itching at him in the back of his mind.
You had spent part of your childhood with him and Bucky but you couldn’t remember either of them. It seemed suspicious to him. Fair enough, Steve hadn’t completely remembered you before you explained your childhood but he was able to make the connection straight away. So why hadn’t you done that?
As much as Steve tried to push it to the back of his mind, he couldn’t. Every time he saw you and Bucky together, the happy feeling inside was taken over by the looming thought that something else was happening.
He had to talk to someone about it.
--
“I know we’re big, scary guys in suits but you’d think people would still let us get ice cream from the ice cream van without giving us weird looks,” Sam scoffed, throwing a look over his shoulder at the older woman that was now being served her ice cream before turning around and starting his own. Steve had asked him to accompany him on a walk, promising to pay for his ice cream when Sam’s face dropped at the mention of leaving the house on his ‘day off.’
Of course, they mobsters never really get a day off, but he had no meetings scheduled for today, so any jobs that came up would be emergencies only.
Steve only chuckled at Sam’s comment, falling into step beside him as they walked through the park. It was fairly busy, the sun was blazing meaning the children were out in full force, playing football, chasing each other, riding their bikes. All whilst the adults gathered in small groups on the outskirts gossiping.
It was a few minutes before they stopped at a bench and settled down, slightly secluded from the mass of people by an alcove of bushes and tree. Finishing the last part of their ice creams, Steve started the conversation that had been on his mind all morning.
“So, you can’t say anything to Bucky, he would kill me if he knew I’d said anything to you,” Sam’s eyebrows furrowed at Steve before he was on the receiving end of the famous Steve glare. You definitely don’t mess with him when he’s like this.
“This has got to be some serious shit man if you don’t want Bucky to know, he’s like your brother,” Sam shook his head. As much as he was close with both Steve and Bucky, he knew his friendship with them could never rival the family bond that Steve and Bucky shared. They had been joined at the hip since they could walk and it had never changed, no matter what was thrown their way.
Steve hesitated a moment, taking a deep breath before letting his thoughts spill. “I don’t think Y/N is telling the complete truth about who she is or maybe what she’s doing here.”
There was a pause before Sam replied. “Is it the amount of time she’s spending with Bucky? If you’re jealous man, I can be your relationship counsellor?” He received a punch on the arm for that, chuckling to himself before taking the situation seriously. “Alright man, what’s got you thinking that? Bucky’s the happiest we’ve ever seen him, surely he deserves that?”
Steve rubbed a hand over his face, “Remember the first night she joined us for dinner? She told us how this woman would take her in when her parents were arguing and she would play with this boy and his friend? That was me and Bucky,” he let that sink in before carrying on.
“I didn’t recognise her before she said anything, but now I can see it, it just doesn’t make sense to me how she can’t see it for herself. We haven’t said anything to her, Bucky decided on that, but since that day I’ve been thinking there must be more to it, it can’t just be a coincidence that she’s here, it could have been any girl in the city that Bucky rescued from Rumlow that night but it was Y/N.”
Sam’s mind was blown, and now that Steve was saying it out loud, he was convincing himself more and more that he wasn’t aware of the whole story. The whole thing didn’t seem to fit together in his mind.
“What are you wanting to do?” Sam already knew the answer, he knew Steve nearly as well as Bucky did.
“I need to see if it checks out.”
--
The three large men walking through the halls of the apartment building took up most of the space, anyone wanting to pass them would have to squeeze by awkwardly before making their escape down the hall. All of them glancing back at the imposing figures as they carried on down the small space.
“This is seriously where our guy lives? You could have done this work yourself Stark,” Sam grumbled as he looked around at the peeling wallpaper and the dirty carpet they were walking over.
The well polished man walking in front of them stopped in front of the last door in the hallway before turning to face him, “look, he needs to learn how to do these things if he’s going to be apart of the Commandos, give him a chance will you?”
Sam only rolled his eyes before Tony was leading them into the small living space.
Steve and Sam had originally asked Tony for help, stating he could do this job much faster than they could and they needed answers quickly. All they wanted was an in detail background check on you. The one Steve had done under the supervision of Bucky only provided superficial details, they needed way more than that.
Before they could object, Tony was dragging them to the other side of the city, to some run down apartment block where he insisted he wanted his guy to do the work for them. As much as they tried to object, he was having none of it. According to him, he’s made a deal with Bucky for this guy to be part of the Commandos when he was ready. Neither Steve or Sam understood what that meant until they were in the apartment.
Movie posters were hung on the wall, computer parts were scattered on every surface and three whole computers were set up on a desk at the far side of the living room.
The man sat at the desk, or should they say boy, jumped up as they walked in. Stuttering as he made his way over to the group of men and shaking their hands in greeting.
“It’s, um, it’s great to finally meet you guys,” he started, shifting nervously on his feet. The two men were taken aback. “Mr Stark has told me so much about you guys, it’s crazy that you’re here right now.”
Sam couldn’t take it anymore, “Mr Stark?” He laughed, turning to face Tony who was inspecting random computer parts before turning to look at Sam. “Are you telling me we have to trust this boy to do our work? You want this boy to join our gang?”
Steve couldn’t help but chuckle himself but he felt for the poor boy who was standing near them. He knew what it was like to be dragged into danger from a young age, being friends with Bucky, it was inevitable. But he didn’t want this boy being dragged into this work for no reason.
“Peter needs us, just trust me, I’m not bringing him to a shoot out am I? He’s just doing your research,” Tony rolled his eyes.
Just as Sam was about to make a comeback, Steve interrupted, “okay, Peter, show us what you got.”
--
Tony had left them with Peter three hours ago.
Sam had ordered a takeaway, settling in and watching TV as Peter worked away at two of his computers.
Steve couldn’t settle. He was dreading what would come up. Hoping it would be nothing and that he was overthinking the situation like he had done in the past. He didn’t want to go back to Bucky and relay devastating news as well as tell him he had gone behind his back.
Would Bucky forgive him for that?
It was into the evening before Peter called them over. He had compiled an extensive list of evidence, all relating to your past life.
All the jobs you previously had. Where you had lived as a child, all your previous addresses from these places. Every place of education you had attended, what grades you got within this. All your social media with your most recent updates before you were taken.
The events of the day before you were taken. The date you were taken by Rumlow. All the friends and family you had before you were taken by Rumlow. Messages between friends and family regarding your ‘sudden’ trip away.
Right at the bottom of the list were two birth certificates. Steve asked Peter to zoom in on them both.
There was silence surrounding the three men as they looked at the details. “Holy shit.”
Steve felt his phone vibrating in his pocket, and realised what time it was when he pulled it out. Cursing to himself, he answered it anyway, knowing what was to come.
“Steve, where the hell are you?” Bucky stern but steady voice came through the receiver. Steve winced at the subdued anger that he heard, he knew they were in trouble.
“Me and Sam went out for a walk and got caught up with food,” he made up, Sam shaking his head at the poor excuse as he tried to listen in.
“You two need to get your arses back here right now.” Bucky hung up before Steve could reply and he sighed as he put his phone away.
“Could you email all this to me please?” He asked Peter, who nodded in return. “He’s going to kill us for forgetting about this raid,” Sam pointed out as they were leaving, Steve only shook his head. If they didn’t look suspicious before, they definitely did now. Steve never forgot about a raid, and Sam had only been late to one once, but he had a good reason for that.
Questions were definitely going to be asked when they returned.
--
Everyone was gathered around the table in the board room, including you. You were sat next to Nat, trying to concentrate on what was being said but you had no idea what was going on. This definitely wasn’t your ‘scene.’
Bucky was running through the details of the next raid on one of Rumlow’s clubs that was to be done tonight. Every time he mentioned his name, it caused a spike of anxiety to run through you but you tried not to let it show. You didn’t want them to see how much he affected you.
Bucky kept stealing glances at you throughout the explanation, and you felt yourself become flustered each time you caught his eyes.
You had never really seen him this way. Filling out paperwork in his office was nothing compared to this. Giving out orders, managing the Commandos, devising a plan. It was like he was a soldier and you couldn’t deny that you thought it was hot.
Steve and Sam had bundled into the room and sat near you about 10 minutes into the meeting. You tried to meet their eyes to send them a smile but it was like they were avoiding eye contact. You let your eyes rest on them for a couple more moments before returning to listen to Bucky. It was probably nothing. You could tell they were in trouble with Bucky anyway, they probably didn’t want to make it worse for themselves by not listening to him.
Once the meeting was done, everyone filed out to get themselves ready for the raid that was happening in a couple of hours. Natasha said her goodbyes to you, giving you a hug as Bucky was walking over.
The smile on his face caused one to take over yours. “I’m afraid I’m going to have to leave you earlier than usual today,” he joked, you let out a small laugh with him.
“I’m sure I’ll be fine, you go take down the bad guys,” as much as you were joking with him, you meant every word. You wanted with everything in your body for Bucky to take down Rumlow, for this whole ordeal to stop. But you knew that wasn’t going to happen tonight.
Bucky left you with a smile and a nudge on your arm and you wondered back to your room to settle in for the rest of the night.
--
It was like de ja vu, the Commandos were in their cars outside Rumlow’s club, almost a mirror of nearly a month ago when you were rescued from the one further into the city.
They all had their own guns twitching in their hands as they waited the last couple of minutes. Steve, Sam and Natasha in the car with Bucky.
The signal went off on Bucky’s phone, synched with all the other mobsters. It was time to go. They were all just about to get out when Bucky said, “you know I don’t believe you were getting food right?”
Steve became instantly flustered, he was never able to lie to Bucky and right now he was regretting what they had done. He was just about to defend himself when Sam interjected, “we’ll talk about it later, we need to focus.”
With that, they all assumed their positions. Everyone keeping calm as they all entered the building exactly as planned, sending off warning shots and taking up their roles. Tony and Bruce were taking the money from the bar whilst Thor and Scott were heading into the back to take the money from the safe. The rest were either rounding up the girls or keeping the customers at bay.
Everything was going smoothly, almost perfectly.
Until shots were fired into the group of mobsters.
Everyone got down, heads darting around to see where they had come from. To see what was going wrong.
Bucky could hear his heart pounding in his ears. This was not what he needed. He wanted to get this done and then get back home to Y/N. This was the first time he had left you home since you were taken and he was not having a good time handling his feelings about it.
Wanda and Clint were still in the building, promising to keep an eye on you while he was gone but he only felt you were completely safe when you were around him. He may be selfish for thinking that, but he didn’t care when it came to protecting you.
The voice that echoed through the club gave it all away.
“Well, look who it is, Barnes is back for more,” Bucky grumbled as he tried to locate Rumlow. It wasn’t long after his line that he appeared from the ‘staff only’ doors, his group of men following him, and it looked like he was dragging someone alongside him by the arm.
Bucky stood up slowly from where he was crouched, along with Steve, Sam and Natasha. His eyes fixated on the moving group.
As soon as his eyes landed on the figure Rumlow was dragging, all of his breath left him.
“Couldn’t save your girl this time, could you?” Rumlow mocked, and you whimpered slightly under his strong grip.
“What do you want with her?” Bucky questioned, his voice deep and calm. But he was everything but calm. His thoughts were all over the place trying to think of a safe way to get you out of this situation, but nothing was coming to mind. His mind had gone hazy as soon as he saw you with Rumlow.
“Oh, I don’t want her, I want you, I want to take you down and watch you crash and burn,” Rumlow laughed. “But my only way in was with my precious little sister, if it wasn’t for all her help, then we wouldn’t be in this position now.”
It felt like everyone in the club had frozen. You could hear a pin drop.
Rumlow’s sister?
Bucky didn’t know what to feel anymore. He wasn’t sure whether to believe Rumlow, when was he ever to be trusted? But he couldn’t meet your eyes. Rumlow’s words struck him deep.
Your heart was pounding and your mind was reeling at the sick lies that Rumlow was making up to get at Bucky. How could someone be so cruel?
You were desperate for Bucky to look at you, even if it was for him to see the panic in your eyes so he knew what Rumlow was saying couldn’t be true. You needed him to save you, now wasn’t the time for him to be having seconds thoughts about trusting this scumbag.
But you knew it would end up this way eventually. You knew deep down you would never get Bucky to yourself once the truth came out.
Even if this wasn’t the truth you had meant, even with Rumlow lying to get at Bucky, there was no going back from this.
Rumlow was the first to break the silence. “She got you there, didn’t she?”

Trying to distract you from the elephants and hippopotami (hippopotamuses?) living above you: If you could write S5, what are the major highlights you’d focus on?
An excellent question!  So, I’m going to pick some of the speculation/leaks we have and toss the others and kind of guess/go from there.  Also, this gets long, like 1.9k words long, so be ready.
- Main Mystery: After the success of Jughead’s novel and the reunited Josie and the Pussycats, Riverdale has become something of a novelty, part curiosity, part tourist trap.  But, this season, tourists and Riverdale residents are starting to go missing.  Some come back, some don’t, and those who do come back have wild stories to tell about, idk, Mothman or something, we’ll run with that leak.  But they also have a weird drug in their system.  At least one of the people who disappeared was a government person with top secret knowledge.  Idk exactly what’s happening, but Penny Peabody and perhaps Penelope will be involved.  Maybe they’re using people as lab rats?  Idk, it’s unclear.  Everyone will have a piece of the mystery, even if Betty and Jughead are the ones to put it all together.
- Archie: Archie is, in fact coming home from the army, but instead of Not-Boyfriend #3, he’s coming home with Reggie, who also joined the army.  Reggie’s dad is dead and has left him the car dealership, while Archie wants to Do Something For The Community In Honor Of His Dad again (also, everyone knows he’d be a shitty car salesman).  Maybe we keep the firefighter thing though, idk.  What’s important is that he and Reggie are living together in the Andrews house and, yes, we will get Archie’s gay awakening that we all deserve.  This is 100% a ship we will explore starting somewhere in 5a.  Archie is concerned about the disappearances and knows people being affected by it, same for Reggie.
- Veronica: Veronica went to business school and did business stuff with something new while being distantly involved in Le Bonne Nuit (Pop’s, however, she mainly handed back to Pop, although she does still do something accounting shit for it or something).  However, she also started doing some shady shit (not sure what, I know jack all about this, I’d delegate this decision) and almost lost her business/went to jail/got sued/etc.  Now she’s back in Riverdale to try to return to her roots with Le Bonne Nuit and being a Legitimate Business Woman.  She married a dude who is reminiscent of her mother, kind of a business partner but also a Lady Macbeth type.  The marriage is shaky at best because Veronica kind of forced herself into it, thinking that dating a non-himbo might make her happy after Archie (spoiler: it hasn’t).  They will have their own apartment in the Pembrooke, and, yes, Veronica will have an office somewhere with the rediscovered painting of herself behind the desk ala Hiram because I deserve to see it.  She’ll probably take it down at some point, but it will definitely be up for a while.  She’ll have a rival business person (Elio?) who is both somehow involved in the disappearances, and Veronica’s husband will be revealed to have been working with him at some point.
- Veronica/Archie/Reggie: This is our endgame pairing because I deserve it.  Veronica will get close to her himbos again, with Archie bringing out her better nature and Reggie bringing out her better business angles.  Veronica gets brought into the Archie/Reggie relationship in 5b slowly, might all get together only toward or at the very end of the season.  I’d work out specifics later though.
Now, I’m of two minds about Betty and Jughead.  I could break them up like the show will or I could keep them together because I do what I want.  I’m going to present both cases:
Scenario 1: They stay together
- Betty: Betty is an FBI agent, but she’s also chafing at the restrictions placed on her.  She keeps getting in trouble for going about things in a shady way (like, say, ignoring the need for a warrant), and she’s getting frustrated by all the red tape.  Currently, she’s being sent to Riverdale because of all the disappearances (particularly the government person) and because, well, she’s from there, she knows it.  She has a partner who she doesn’t get along with.  She and Jughead made it through long distance at college and post-grad, and they live together...idk, somewhere.  She will somehow reconcile with Veronica, unclear how.  May or may not quit the FBI to be a PI with Jughead at the end of the season.  Definitely fucks up Penny’s shit at one point.
- Jughead: Jughead is a published author and a PI who Betty sometimes uses as a way around red tape and advocates as a consultant; they both love this.  His first novel about Riverdale secured Riverdale’s place as That Weird Murder Town Where Shit Goes Down and turned it into a tourist trap; he hates this.  He’s on his...idk, third novel, with his second having done less well than his first.  He’s having trouble writing, so he goes back to Riverdale with Betty, hoping that returning to the town that first fueled his writing will help him with his writer’s block.  Jughead gets sucked into the spooky part of the mystery, going off on wild tangents while Betty pursues legitimate avenues. 100% does not have a drinking problem.
Scenario 2: Betty and Jughead break up (either post 4x17 reveal or due to long distance troubles)
- Betty: A lot is the same here.  She’s an FBI agent chafing at the restrictions placed on her and frustrated by red tape; she gets in trouble a lot for going about things shadily in her usual way.  She’s being sent to Riverdale as a Riverdale expert to investigate the disappearances in general but, more specifically, that government person who went to Riverdale on vacation.  (There may or may not be a more suspicious reason for the government person’s visit.)  She is either a single career woman with a partner she doesn’t get along with or she is having an affair with her partner that is falling apart.  While in Riverdale, she’s staying either in an apartment, a motel, or her house, depending.  She will somehow reconcile with Veronica, unclear how.  May or may not quit the FBI to be a PI at the end of the season.  Again, definitely fucks up Penny’s shit at one point.
- Jughead: Jughead is still a novelist upset about the effect his breakout novel had on Riverdale.  He is also an investigative journalist who’s been sent to Riverdale to investigate this shit OR a PI who can afford to take a vacation in Riverdale, and he’s happy to do it because it might help him with his writer’s block.  He has a live-in girlfriend back wherever he lives, and their already dying relationship is going to break with the added long distance difficulties.  He’s going to go after the weirder aspects of the disappearances because he thinks that’s where Riverdale’s answers always are.  While in Riverdale, he’s staying with Cheryl and Toni.  He will definitely reunite with the Serpents, and probably have some friendship moments with Archie as well. 100% does not have a drinking problem.
- Bughead: They will keep ending up at the same places while investigating and slowly slip back into their old routine and habits.  They’ll have a murderboard in the bunker where they meet up away from the eyes of the FBI (Cheryl and Toni draw the line at murderboards in their house), and there will be a lot of pining and sexual tension.  They will have at least one heartfelt conversation about why things didn’t work out, one instance where they have to make out to try and seem harmless after being discovered somewhere they shouldn’t be, and one heated encounter (maybe sex, maybe just making out) after being in a lot of danger.  If Betty is dating her partner, he’s revealed to be a shady fucker after she breaks up with him like three episodes in.  Jughead and his girlfriend have a conversation over the phone where they’re both tryin to break up with the other; it’s quite comical.  Betty and Jughead are reunited by the end of 5a (episode nine at the latest) and spend the rest of the season rebuilding their relationship.  The season may or may not end with Jughead proposing, possibly with a ring he bought for Betty previously but never had the heart to get rid of after the break up, possibly impulsively with one of the rings he always wears, possibly just with a new ring.
- Kevin and Fangs:  Kevin is a drama teacher at Riverdale High, and Fangs does...idk, something, maybe he’s also a teacher, maybe he’s a /bein some field who can work from anywhere, maybe something else.  They live together, a little off/on, but in a way that suits them and always ends in on.  Kevin is concerned about some of his students who’ve gone missing.  Fangs is either in the same position as Kevin or he has an employer who’s being shady.
- Cheryl and Toni: Cheryl and Toni both went to Highsmith College.  Cheryl runs the Blossom maple business well and maybe something else, and Toni is a successful photographer.  As for the twins, Polly recovered and is now raising them somewhere other than this helltown.  They’re back in town for Cheryl’s business purposes, although they mainly live...idk, somewhere else.  Either other Blossoms are secretly pulling some shit, Penelope has resurfaced, or Cheryl has a business partner who’s doing something shady.  Toni sees some shit while taking photographs of Riverdale.  Toni should get a storyline/be involved in the main plot, but I’m not sure what.  Maybe she’ll investigate with Betty and Jughead sometimes?  She definitely has a lot of interactions with Jughead, Fangs, and Sweet Pea though.
- Sweet Pea: Apparently is here?  Maybe lives with Kevin and Fangs?  Works...idk, somewhere?  Possibly went to community college, maybe works at the hospital as a doctor or nurse or lab tech or something?  Maybe is the sheriff?  Unclear, but has seen some shit one way or the other.  I know he’s not a series regular, but we bothered to bring him back apparently, he has to do something.
- Southside Serpents: Might not even be around?  Maybe they disbanded at some point?  Maybe there’s a new version of them that’s being shady?  Maybe we don’t mention them at all?  Unclear.- Alice:  Is still here, apparently, living in Gladys’s house.  No longer with FP, who has gone...idk, somewhere, maybe lives with Gladys?  Alternately, Gladys comes back to live in her house and sparks fly between her and Alice.  Probably is being nosy.
- Hiram and Hermione: Doing some shady shit, undoubtedly, may or may not be shady shit related to the plot, possible red herrings.  It’s kind of one last hurrah for Hiram because we’re finishing up Veronica’s parallels with him this season.  We might get Hiram v Betty at last, though, but then that might be best saved for season 6.  Definitely a mirror for Veronica’s relationship though.
And I think that’s everyone?  I wrote out Tabitha because we know nothing about her so I have no idea what to do with her.  I didn’t break up choni because it really isn’t worth the hassle of breaking up and then getting back together three relationships.  I have no idea what the musical episode would be.  And I didn’t bother to hash out the plot because I’m not crazy enough to lay out a proper Riverdale plot, but I assure you a bunch of crazy shit goes down and at least one 90s teen/college icon shows up.

About no-homo friendships between men in the 2010′s
Ok, since I opened that can of worms with the post about Steve and Tony, here are my full thoughts about the way close male friendships have been treated in big screen adaptations in the 2010′s:
Basically, it seems to me that the creators are all conscious of how readily fans would read them as queer, and tried to prevent that by some (more or less) subtle ways that kind of result in the characters in question being less close than they were in the original. So far, I could pinpoint these tactics:
1) Everybody’s favorite Straight Female Love Interest Ex Machina. A character who in his original version didn’t have a female love interest suddenly has one. Bonus point if she was already an existing character in the original. Double bonus if BOTH men are in love with her, which would effectively make them both look more straight without you needing to add any more female characters to the story. While adding in a straight romantic subpolt is not a bad thing per se (personally, I don’t want to see it, but many people do, so eh, go on I guess), the Straight Female Love Interest Ex Machina usually feels fake because she and her relationship with the male character(s) is not enough developed.
Movies that did this include the Star Trek reboot with Spock, Kirk and Uhura, The Lone Ranger (2013) with John and Rebecca, The Green Hornet (2011) with Kato, Britt and Casey, and the MCU actually managed to do this to a canon love interest TWICE with both Steve and Sharon Carter, and Steve and Peggy.
2) "You know this really close and loving friendship that is almost legendary within the Western literally canon? They hate each other now." What it sounds like, instead of being very close friends, the two characters fight and generally barely get along. It is usually implied at the end of the movie that they make peace and kind of become friends, but you still don’t really get to see any of it. A subcategory is when the story, COMPLETELY BY ACCIDENT, is set during the one canon fallout in the friendship.
Like the Straight Female Love Interest Ex Machina this is actually surprisingly common, just think of Kirk and Spock from the Star Trek reboot, Steve and Tony from the MCU, Batman and Superman from the DC movies, John and Tonto from The Lone Ranger (2013), and even Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson from the RDJ movies.
3) The plot only just happens to keep said characters apart. Not only don’t they have much serious interaction, they are even barely in the same room together. It’s actually a great strategy, because it doesn’t impact the story itself and if the writing is any good, no-one will even notice unless they are keeping an eye out for it.
The MCU used this both on Steve and Tony and later on Steve and Bucky, Star Trek Beyond (2016) did it with Kirk and Spock and The Last Jedi (2017) with Finn and Poe.
4) When everything else fails, one of the two characters just... vanishes. Not completely, of course, that would be too suspicious. But he is degraded to a secondary character, kept out of the plot and off the screen and this naturally creates distance between him and his friend. It’s 3) taken to further extremes.
See what the MCU did to Bucky, to keep him and Steve apart.
Bonus 1) When the writing for the movie is just so bad that any relationship, friends or otherwise, stops working.
The Green Hornet (2011), who did try to use multiple of the tricks above on Britt and Kato, but in the end failed to achieve success with either of them. They did, however, achieve said effect by being so awfully written that not a single relationship in there feels authentic. Also The Lone Ranger (2013), who, at least to me, was so terribly racist that Tonto didn’t feel very much like an actual person, which can kind of nerf any potential ships involving him.
Bonus 2) Whatever the Heck Supernatural (2005 - 2020) is playing at, more precisely, what they have been playing at since November 2020. I know that they don’t technically fit in this list because 1) it’s a TV show, and 2) it didn’t happen in the 2010′s any more, but it’s hecking weird and I can’t get them out of my head, so here you are.
IDK, maybe I’m just always looking in the wrong direction, but I haven’t seen these patterns discussed anywhere yet. Which is weird, because they would normally fit EXACTLY in fandoms’ favorite discussions: They are about popular ships, and movies working hard on keeping people from shipping them. Which I guess leads straight to homophobia, and how it affects even straight characters and (also straight) men who identify with them.
Because look. I love shipping every single one of the friendships mentioned above, maybe not quite as much as the next girl, sometimes more, sometimes less. But I love even more seeing them as friends, the shipping is just a game for the Internet. These are, first and foremost, friendships. Very, very close and loving friendships between men, that everyone, but most of all Real Life men, would profit from seeing represented on the big screen. Instead, the studios nerfed them to... keep some people from reading it as queer? COME ON, you can do better than this!
The 2010′s has seen a lot of increased visibility of queer identities and of queer reading of media, and the creative forces behind the movie industry are still struggling to figure out what to do about this. Queerbaiting is one of the resulting trends, but the no-homoing of close male friendships is another.
I don’t really have any conclusion to this. In a way, it is necessary to define what the nature of a relationship between your characters is, and that is what all of the points listed above are there for. They are, more or less, working. On the other hand, they are FAR from perfect, and I for one think that it would be very important to find a way of conveying that a relationship is purely platonic WITHOUT making it any less close or loving than it was in the original. I’m sure that they will find a way to do that at some point in the future.
TL;DR: In the 2010′s, movies used different storytelling tricks to make the very close and loving male friendships they were adapting look less close, to keep people from reading them as gay. This resulted in the loss of the kind of close and loving male friendships that they were in the original in 2010′s media. Movies should please stop doing this and find a different way to convey to the audience that their characters aren’t romantically in love.
