You know, I think i finally figured out how the ‘Joel is a good dad’ truthers can still win.

What if Tiny Tom actually is just an armor stand? But everyone in empires thinks they seriously had a child together, and Joel left them in Hermitcraft.

Hell even Jimmy had to ask Joel afterwards to doublecheck they wouldn't come to life becuase the bit is funny but not if its his actual child which he has now started to inwardly panic about.

And Joel just looks confused and asks why would he think an armor stand would come to life? 

There’s a beat of silence before Jimmy says that Sausage told them that's how Hermes was born, he started out as an armor stand and... was brought to life... he trails off as Joel just sighs and pinches his nose, cursing Sausage’s name.

No, Hermes was born human, humanoid, as a Demigod, alive, whatever. Yes his birth was magical but no, he was not an armor stand. Jimmy inwardly breathes a sigh of relief and they part and they think that's that.

Except, after they get home and the stint of Jimmy raising a “fuss” about Christmas and Joel using him and giving away their child as a bit, the Empires folk start to think its real.

And suddenly people are very upset with Joel who is very confused why all these people are furious with him but wont tell him why, and tryin to help Jimmy with “the grief” of loosing his child and is now being very nice and helpful to him, becuase they can be jerks but they arnt monsters.

Jimmy either hasn't realized what they’re talking about becuase no one outright says anything in fear of upsetting him and his “obviously” pretending he’s okay and he is just happy people are being nice and giving him stuff, or he’s the only one who knows what’s going on and is going along with it to mess them all becuase he’s a little shit, or maybe it starts as the first and becomes the second idk but either way its a lovely shit show of misinformation <3

    That or we just make it so Tom started out as a armor stand and neither of them actually knew he’d become a real baby, so neither thought better of it beyond the silly bit. Then they found out and were like “Oh no our baby!” becuase either Jevin either just found a whole ass baby as his Secret Santa, or got a silly armor stand he might as well keep becuase its a gift that started crying one morning and is just like, ???? what am I supposed to do? Do I have to contact Cleo about an animated armor stand? Would she know what to do? Did she do this??

Therefore, the obvious catalyst for it is Stan, when he needs some kind of weird tax break/distraction/coverup. And wouldn't a wedding be perfect for that?

Theory/HC about Tsurugi

Tsurugi is in fact the Holy Knight Sigurd that Azel mentions in Carmine’s chapter.

Tsurugi directly translates to sword; sword + shield. Not too far from a knightly image.

You can see that in the UNI2 key art, his shield has a broken hole near its center, where a red orb/jewel hangs out. Maybe the red jewel that Azel and Sigurd are looking for can patch it up?

[ANSWERS] Weirdly Specific Artist Ask Game

1. Art programs you have but don't use

ahahahaha oh boy. The list. Somewhere across like 4 machines and about 5 External drives by now, there's probably: • FireAlpacca (raster, reported to be sai-like but I never got into it) • Inkscape (vectors) • Affinity Designer (Raster/Vector, Illustrator adjacent) • Corel Painter? (I think this came with an intuos years and years back) • Manga Studio 4 (technically this has leaped and evolved into CSP afaik?) • CSP/Clip Studio Paint (I TRY to use it but I always fall back into Sketchbook)

4. Fav character/subject that's a bitch to draw

Oh boy that's a hard one. Off the top of my head, top three are probably trees (how do branches?? leaves?? where? whomst???), glass textures, and just. Humans. In general. Yes, I've avoided humans for long enough that every time I go "oh god how do figure draw". I need to get back into doing regular practice for people T–T

Yeah, when the occasion/need arises. I tend to gravitate towards multiply and overlay settings. Usually I try to keep it to only using them when I can't computer how a colour should look. It's a lot of guessing and messing around with modes though to find what does the trick on a case-by-case basis.

29. Media you love, but doesn't inspire you artistically

I don't know if I'd actually rule anything out as "doesn't inspire". Just about anything can trigger an idea that my brain will latch onto and run (over the hills) and far away. There's plenty of media that I do love that I haven't really done anything for though, in a perpetual loop of "I should do that, but I gotta get portfolio stuff done first".

People against piracy fail to realize that no, I can’t just ‘buy it.’ They stopped making DVDs and Blu-Rays. They’re barely offering digital copies for download. I am not spending money I could use for food or bills to pay for a subscription service just so I can always have access to a beloved piece of media. Especially not when the service will remove media on a whim without concern for how the loss of access to that piece will make its artistic conservation nigh impossible.

For example, I recently learned that Disney+ had an original film called Crater. It’s scifi, family friendly, and seems cool - I would love to buy it as a holiday gift for my little brother! But: it’s exclusive to D+ and THEY REMOVED IT LITERALLY MONTHS AFTER ITS RELEASE.

The ONLY way I can directly access this film is through piracy. The ONLY available ‘copies’ of this film are hosted on piracy websites. Disney will NEVER release it in theaters, or as something to buy, and it may NEVER return to the streaming service. It will be LOST because we aren’t allowed to purchase it for personal viewing. If I can’t pay to own it, I won’t pay for the privilege of losing it when corporate decides to put it in a vault.

So yes, I’m going to pirate and support piracy.
