Son of Assassins
After an argument with the Fentons where they admitted they were not his birth parents, Danny fled town. He kept up his communication with Jazz, Sam and Tucker of course, but he didn't plan to return until he found out his true parentage.
Maybe they had the answer to why Dan had tried to destroy everything during his mourning, was it something genetic that could be activated? or was he imagining it?
His search leads him to Nanda Parbat, a place he has had flashes of memories that are honestly not very good but was necessary in his search for answers. There he meets his biological mother who is quite upset by his presence and hides him before the guards can notice. Danny doesn't get it but considering he invaded a ninja base he guesses she's justified.
Talia confesses that maybe leaving the clone in a small town in the middle of nowhere wasn't the best of ideas. But the boy was too good at training for his own good and if he continued down that path he would be discarded by Ra. And it's not like she could give him to Slade, considering that Slade didn't know of his existence.
Although looking at him closely it was likely that she could fool Bruce into thinking that he was another of his children. It seemed that Slade's serum hadn't activated yet, or his hair would be white and his eyes would be bright green.
Now, how do you explain to a teenager that he is actually a clone destined to be the guard of the future demon head and was saved by her selfish desire to want to give one of his children a childhood?

What bothers me about the whole "Max needs Daniel to make him look good/nice/funny" narrative is that you can tell it's circulated by solely Daniel fans who don't care about or acknowledge Max at all when he's not an extension to Daniel. (I remember when the Daniel 3rd driver thing was announced, a Daniel fan I follow who has never positively acknowledged Max's existence posted a whole disclaimer to blacklist Maxiel if seeing Max's face triggered anyone because she would be posting Maxiel content now …. like miss girl, what?)
Also people who pay attention to Max outside of a solely shipping context and what Sky and media says about him would know he's been a good, loving, caring, nice, and funny person with or without Daniel as his teammate. Look at the way he celebrates with the whole team after successes. There's also tons of wholesome moments with individual team members, like GP and Christian. Look at the way he encourages some of the other drivers on the grid, such as the way he complimented Charles' driving last year or even his recent comments about drivers like George or Lando being capable of fighting for wins if provided with the right cars. Look at the way he defended his sister and nephew against f1 fan hate, or himself and Lando against harmful DTS narratives. Look at the way he cares so much about children, from spending time with his nephews or Baby P to getting down on younger fans' levels to talk to them when they approach him. There's TONS of examples of him being funny with drivers on the grid or people associated with f1, such as GP or Alex or Yuki or Lando or Elly. He has a quieter, more sarcastic sense of humor a lot of times compared to Daniel's loud, rambunctious kind - but that doesn't make him "not funny."
I don't know, hearing people say he's unlikable without Daniel around is always a huge red flag for me because Max has always been likable. He isn't acting noticeably different just because Daniel is around now, those fans are just now realizing he's a normal guy and not this monster media paints him to be because they only care about Daniel, so now that Daniel's around again, suddenly Max exists to them again.
Anyone who posts max content with their favorite driver but posts tw:Max is a fucking weirdo like Jesus Christ he hasn’t killed someone.
But I agree with all your points. Max is a naturally funny, blunt character and he has never needed Daniel to give him that he’s always been like that. He is literally friends with the majority of the grid, none of them have a bad word to say about him and whenever you see Max with another driver chances are he is maxsplaining or laughing with them. He has never needed Daniel to fix or change anything about him. He defends people he loves and that’s something special about him. You didn’t see another driver calling out the portrayal of himself or Lando to benefit others but Max was always there really to defend.
Honestly I keep saying it but if people looked outside the narrative the English media created around Max they would see what we see and if they don’t they shouldn’t post Max content or have the nerve to comment on his personality it’s that’s simple.

I don't think I asked you one already so... 11. and/or 12 for the soft headcanons!
11. What pet names would your muse give to others?
Rowan doesn't usually give people pet/nick names. Honestly, the closest she'll get is calling people by the first syllables of their name and that's about it. She'll call people "ser" or "ma'am" a lot, mostly because I feel that's within the polite retail speak in Eorzea.
But for Urianger... you might have seen this in my ficlets, but Rowan calls Urianger "darling". This is because I as the author cannot think of anything he would actually tolerate as a regular pet name. In my head he was the kind of kid who chafed whenever someone called him "Uri". Like, to the point that even Moenbryda didn't get to call him that.
So why does Rowan get to call him "darling"? Well, it's what her mother called her father, and Urianger found that very touching. If he's being cryptic or trying to analyze her dreams, she'll call him "my prophet".
12. What pet names would your muse want to be called?
Rowan will tolerate "Ro" from most of her friends. The three people who get to call her anything tree related are her father, brother, and Feo Ul. Feo Ul got that pass because they looked like they were going to explode with excitement when they heard her name.  "Rowan-child" is an artifact of living in Gridania that she's resigned to have to suffer through. Most people are actually affectionate about it at least.
Urianger will go through a few that he likes: love, dear, dearest, beloved, and all of the above with "my" in front of it. He tried "my kitten" once, and only once, because Rowan shot that down. The most successful "animal" themed name was "dove", and that's only in private.
Thanks for the asks! ^^

So here's my take on remus lupin and how the fandom tends to idolise him: remus isn't perfect. We see that in canon, he has cowardly tendencies and runs away from his problems (literally). It all stems from self hate and the belief that he will never be good enough, and although that is an explanation, it isn't an excuse. As a fandom, we idolise him and make him perfect, the best, and turn a blind eye to anything he did wrong. (Next anon)
Part 2: all that being said, he is my favourite character. Why? Because I know his flaws and understand he isn't perfect. All of the marauders are grey, even though the fandom might wipe their slates. Heck everyone in the Harry Potter universe has done something wrong. That's alright, they're human like us. But alongside those flaws, he has good parts. I'm not going to list them, but as a character he is good too, much like Sirius. (Next anon)
Part 3: I'd like to think he understood his mistakes, because in canon we see that he goes back to tonks, although a little late. Who's to say he doesn't ever apologise to Sirius? To Harry? Conclusion: he is a flawed man and people should realise that, and write him as he is. But he is a man deserving of the love we show.
hello anon! before anything else, can i just say- i appreciate the heck out of u for being so nice lol i’ve had some ~not so kind people in my inbox and i really appreciate that 💜💜
(even if i’m confused about the ask itself lol did i say something recently?)
most of my issues with remus today stem from his fandom perception, which you’ve mentioned completes changes his character. every time i think i’m fine with him, i read a fic where i’m blindsided with perfect, pretty remus (often at the expense of james & sirius) and it just fires me up lol (plus, between you and me, bashing fics are a guilty pleasure of mine 🙈🙃 there’s just something so fkn cathartic about them gosh)
having said that, i fully agree with you! critically looking at hp, every single character is flawed as fuck. and you can pick out pros and cons for almost everyone, depending on your viewpoint. even remus.
but the thing is, i’m not usually in a mood to critically analyse canon. i can, to be clear, i just don’t like to, usually. it’s why i stay away from discourse and don’t even read super realistic fanfiction. it interferes with the escapism ykno? 💀 i make no secret of the fact that i like to cherry-pick canon and ignore the parts i don’t like. realistic depictions of trauma and flaws and behaviour are,,,not my forte. i’m sure remus deserves all the love, just…not from me lmao

the thing is that they're so fascinated by sex, they love sex, they can't imagine a world without sex - they need sex to sell things, they need sex to be part of their personality, they need sex to prove their power - but they hate sex. they are disgusted by it.
sex is the only thing that holds their attention, and it is also the thing that can never be discussed directly.
you can't tell a child the normal names for parts of their body, that's sexual in nature, because the body isn't a body, it's a vessel of sex. it doesn't matter that it's been proven in studies (over and over) that kids need to know the names of their genitals; that they internalize sexual shame at a very young age and know it's 'dirty' to have a body; that it overwhelmingly protects children for them to have the correct words to communicate with. what matters is that they're sexual organs. what matters is that it freaks them out to think about kids having body parts - which only exist in the context of sex.
it's gross to talk about a period or how to check for cancer in a testicle or breast. that is nasty, illicit. there will be no pain meds for harsh medical procedures, just because they feature a cervix.
but they will put out an ad of you scantily-clad. you will sell their cars for them, because you have abs, a body. you will drip sex. you will ooze it, like a goo. like you were put on this planet to secrete wealth into their open palms.
they will hit you with that same palm. it will be disgusting that you like leather or leashes, but they will put their movie characters in leather and latex. it will be wrong of you to want sexual freedom, but they will mark their success in the number of people they bed.
they will crow that it's inappropriate for children so there will be no lessons on how to properly apply a condom, even to teens. it's teaching them the wrong things. no lessons on the diversity of sexual organ growth, none on how to obtain consent properly, none on how to recognize when you feel unsafe in your body. if you are a teenager, you have probably already been sexualized at some point in your life. you will have seen someone also-your-age who is splashed across a tv screen or a magazine or married to someone three times your age. you will watch people pull their hair into pigtails so they look like you. so that they can be sexy because of youth. one of the most common pornography searches involves newly-18 young women. girls. the words "barely legal," a hiss of glass sand over your skin.
barely legal. there are bills in place that will not allow people to feel safe in their own bodies. there are people working so hard to punish any person for having sex in a way that isn't god-fearing and submissive. heteronormative. the sex has to be at their feet, on your knees, your eyes wet. when was the first time you saw another person crying in pornography and thought - okay but for real. she looks super unhappy. later, when you are unhappy, you will close your eyes and ignore the feeling and act the role you have been taught to keep playing. they will punish the sex workers, remove the places they can practice their trade safely. they will then make casual jokes about how they sexually harass their nanny.
and they love sex but they hate that you're having sex. you need to have their ornamental, perfunctory, dispassionate sex. so you can't kiss your girlfriend in the bible belt because it is gross to have sex with someone of the same gender. so you can't get your tubes tied in new england because you might change your mind. so you can't admit you were sexually assaulted because real men don't get hurt, you should be grateful. you cannot handle your own body, you cannot handle the risks involved, let other people decide that for you. you aren't ready yet.
but they need you to have sex because you need to have kids. at 15, you are old enough to parent. you are not old enough to hear the word fuck too many times on television.
they are horrified by sex and they never stop talking about it, thinking about it, making everything unnecessarily preverted. the saying - a thief thinks everyone steals. they stand up at their podiums and they look out at the crowd and they sign a bill into place that makes sexwork even more unsafe and they stand up and smile and sign a bill that makes gender-affirming care illegal and they get up and they shrug their shoulders and write don't say gay and they get up, and they make the world about sex, but this horrible, plastic vision of it that they have. this wretched, emotionless thing that holds so much weight it's staggering. they put their whole spine behind it and they push and they say it's normal!
this horrible world they live in. disgusted and also obsessed.
#this shifts gender so much bc it actually affects everyone#yes it's a gendered phenomenon. i have written a LOT about how different genders experience it. that's for a different post.#writeblr#ps my comments about seeing someone cry -- this is not to shame any person#and on this blog we support workers.#at the same time it's a really hard experience to see someone that looks like you. clearly in agony. and have them forced to keep going.#when you're young it doesn't necessarily look like acting. it looks scary. and that's what this is about - the fact that teens#have likely already been exposed to that definition of things. because the internet exists#and without the context of healthy education. THAT is the image burned into their minds about what it looks like.#it's also just one of those personal nuanced biases -#at 19 i thought it was normal to be in pain. to cry. to not-like-it. that it should be perfunctory.#it was what i had seen.#and it didn't help that my religious upbringing was like . 'yeah that's what you get for premarital. but also for the reference#we do think you should never actually enjoy it lol'#so like the point im making is that ppl get exposed to that stuff without the context of something more tender#and assume .... 'oh. so it's fine i am not enjoying myself'. and i know they do because I DID.#he was my first boyfriend. how was i supposed to know any different#i didn't even have the mental wherewithal to realize im a lesbian . like THAT used to suffering.

listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded psychopath happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.
#seeing some discourse and im not saying lucy grey didnt know#im saying she never dropped the kind of hints that she knew like she did in the movie#or if she did snow isnt worried about them until he very suddenly is consumed by them#snow is not concerned about whether or not she believed him. of course she did! hes snow!#but then shes gone…. for a while……#and its the sudden immediate drastic unravelling that comes across so clearly in the book#that i knew wouldn’t translate to screen yet still cant help but miss#the hunger games#coriolanus snow#tbosas#lucy gray baird#not a crime or anything just a note that i cannot stop thinking about#the ballad of songbirds and snakes#this is all from memory of reading it quite a while ago. so maybe 3 pages is an exaggeration#but i remember it happening VERY quickly and without much external cause#like we as the reader have no indication as to whether shes nearby or not.#snow has no idea either. he just SUSPECTS. and his suspicion breeds the hatred that has been bubbling inside him all this time#he hates how she undoes him. he hates that he WOULD run away with her if shed let him keep his secrets#and he HATES more than anything that she makes him WANT to tell his secrets#he wants to be vulnerable and reveal the ugly nasty parts about himself and still be loved#but he does not let himself and it is everyone’s downfall#he chooses cruelty bc it is easy and familiar and makes him feel more powerful than the vulnerable give and take that real love requires

shout out to when i told my dad about goncharov and he figured out it was fake because i told him "1973 martin scorsese film with robert de niro" and he said that wasn't possible because the godfather came out in 1972 and the godfather part II came out in 1974 and they wouldn't have had time to make a movie in between. a perfectly good jest, foiled by this man's weird and vast knowledge set

corrupted godhood. reluctant false messiah. prophecy as a creeping all consuming malady. does the oracle see the future or make the future? the horror of trapping yourself inescapably on purpose. the chains of destiny dragging you towards the path you are fighting tooth and nail to free yourself from. there never having been a chance to begin with. no other choice to make. but making that choice regardless.
