i saw your requests are open
Can you do poly price x reader x simon where they all get into an argument (Reader is lonely while they're deployed, she's not getting on their case, just expressing it) and the boys get really defensive and take it a little too far, resulting in reader staying in the guest bedroom for the night bc she doesn't wanna cry in bed next to them. The boys come to their senses and realize they fucked up and there's make up sex? Lots of reassurance and whispers of how much they love you?
Feel free to ignore, just figured I'd pop in :)

Could You Understand?
John Price x F!Reader x Simon Riley
My first COD request I hope I did right. I’m still getting down their personalities and such in writing but it’s a fun challenge. Kinda base level smut. Ps. Would never ignore ❤️
warning: mentions of anxiety (described?), light stomach bulging (I mention it twice I have a problem), double penetration, not proofread at all

Confrontation was never a strong point for her, the idea of accidentally starting a conflict made her cautious with her words. Nibbling at her lower lip she adds the final dish to the washer before closing it. Turning it on she leans against the counter with folded arms. Many times has this feeling of loneliness crossed her mind. Whenever they were gone it was a constant reminder of the fear she felt. She always found herself holding back the words. But it was as if a dam finally broke and she couldn’t help but let them spill.
Making her way into the living room she wraps her arms around herself. It was a first defense similar to showing a dog that you’re not a threat. Her eyes fall onto the two men she loved with all of her being. They sat together with the television on but it was clear they weren’t entirely focused on it. They spoke in rushed tones as if forgetting the rule of leaving work at work. It wasn’t much but it was enough to ensure they wouldn’t dwell on work-related stuff.
Clearing her throat she realized just how hard it was to speak up. It was an odd feeling as she usually found herself talking without much of an issue. When they turned to look at her the words felt stuck, unable to claw their way out of her throat. “We need to talk,” she finally uttered. The words felt hard and cold when she said them.
John was the first to speak though the way his eyebrows creased seemed to verify his confusion. “About what, sweetheart?”
The gruffness of his voice was enough to make her hold the subject off. To instead crawl into his lap and give him a kiss or two. But she knew that wouldn’t solve anything let alone reassure her.
Simon on the other hand said nothing but his eyes were focused on her. And that was enough, it was always the simple things with him. His attention was always undivided, “well..I’ve been thinking a lot while you were both deployed. I just feel alone, you know? It terrifies me knowing you’re both out there and not knowing if that’s the mission that will end with me living my life without you. I—I’ve spent so many nights worried about how or if you’ll make it back to me. Maybe I’m just thinking too much on this but I can’t help but think that way. It’s like my brain won’t allow me to think positively. Like there’s this sense of impending doom when nothing bad is really happening,” she explained.
It was silent for a moment that is until Simon scoffed, the sound seemed to echo in her mind. “And you think it’s any easier on our end having to leave you here? It’s not a friendly thought knowing we’re miles away while you’re here by yourself,” his tone was defensive. It was as if he assumed her words were to evoke a change or start an argument.
“I’m not denying that Simon, I just get so worried that-”
“We understand that you get worried sweetheart, but we can’t change our profession. We spend just as many nights worrying about whether we’ll make it back or not. We have to live through that not you,” John spoke up.
Whether he meant to or not his words seemed to cut her deeper. It was as if her attempt at getting through to them was blocked off by their defense. “I know I don’t have to live through that, but it still worries me when you leave this house. I feel so helpless for lack of a better word when I know you’re miles away and I can’t help.”
Simon shook his head, “how would you even help? You can’t help, you can barely help yourself.”
His words were sharp like that of a knife willingly piercing her heart. Maybe that’s why it hurts more hearing words like that from someone you love.
“I’m not trying to argue with either of you, I wanted to get my point across,” she said simply.
“Then why even bring this up, you always dance around what you’re feeling. We’re not mind readers, there is only so much we can do when you won’t even say what you feel. It’s exhausting,” The words left John's mouth without much of a thought.
Opening her mouth she closes it, her eyes flashing with hurt from their words. “I know you’re both probably just tired from your mission and that’s why you’re acting like this. Just forget I said anything,” she tells them.
She had walked away quicker than she meant to not wanting to say another word to them. She knew deep down if she had she would have started crying.
Placing her hands on her chest she holds back the tears that are brimming in her eyes. She holds off until she makes it into their guest room upstairs. The second she closes the door she lets out a low sob. Sitting down on the bed she wraps her arms back around herself. It was a horrible feeling as if she’d been yelled at. Having people you love downplay your emotions when you finally speak upon them.
Lying down on the bed she curls up her arms still wrapped around her. It was as if she was protecting herself from what was already done. Sobs racking her body as she found no use in calming down.
It wasn’t until they made their way upstairs later into the night that they realized. Simon assumed she would be in bed, their bed. Yet the absence of her presence in the room was like a punch to the gut. His eyes found John’s in the darkness as they stood in the space.
They didn’t have to think before they made their way towards the guest room. The door ajar allowing John to slowly push it open. There she was in the middle of the guest bed curled up. She looked smaller than she should have as if closing in on herself.
John to a step forward which turned into a few then a few more before he was sitting on the bed beside her. His hand cupping her cheek, wet with tears, “Sweetheart..” The utterances of the pet name seemed to work as her eyes opened slowly. Groggy from crying so much as well as sleep she stared at him. It was easy to tell that was what she was doing in the darkness. The tears not yet split made that easy to notice.
With crossed arms, Simon makes his way over to him, “We shouldn’t have—I should have said those things to you.”
She seemed to perk up, it was a first for Simon to say something like that. Not that she expected him to do so often but it was refreshing. “It’s fi-“
“It’s not fine, the things we said to you were uncalled for. You didn’t deserve any of that especially when all you wanted to do was express your feelings. We took our frustration from the mission out on you,” John told her. His thumb caressed her cheek a touch she leaned into without hesitation.
“You do so much for us even when you don’t think you do. Most don’t expect to be greeted at home with a smile and a warm meal. You do everything you can to make sure we’re okay. It’s time we do the same,” Simon says.
Sitting up a bit she looks between the two men with a puzzled look. She didn’t catch on until she had John’s lips on her own. The smell of tobacco and pinewood was strong as she wrapped her arms around his neck. It was comforting yet sensual as she felt Ghost behind her. His lips feverishly trailing kisses along her neck and shoulders.
Her mind seemed to move slower than her actions which was evident when she found herself naked between them. Her hands rested on John’s chest as he lined himself up with her sopping-wet hole. Eager wouldn’t describe what she was feeling especially when he finally thrusted into her. He was always attentive and careful at first, “how’s that feel, sweetheart?”
The words didn’t come but a simple nod followed by a moan was enough for him. Resting his hands on her hips he set a slow and steady pace. One that seemed to draw on the moans leaving her body. “Still so tight for me,” he grunted against her warm skin.
The gentle touch along her spine was enough to remind her of Simon’s presence. The way he was looking down at her caused her to squeeze around John’s cock. A swear left the older man’s lips due to the feeling. Keeping her eyes on Simon she spoke up, “want to feel you both..”
It was new territory something she hadn’t done before. But she wanted to be closer to them in a way soft touches wouldn’t do. “Are you sure, lovie?”
She nodded her head right away at Simon’s words as he seemed to be silently communicating with John. Looking between them she waited for an answer as John continued to thrust in and out of her.
“Okay.”
That was all Simon needed to say before she leaned against John. Her arms were around his neck while her fingers curled around the hair at the base of his neck. Simon held her hip as he pumped himself in his hand before lining himself up with her stuffed hole. It was already a tight fit with John’s cock inside. Willing himself forward he groaned when his cock began to slide inside of her pussy.
Digging her nails into John’s back she muffled her noises on his shoulder. “That’s it sweetheart, such a good girl wanting to take both of us.”
John’s words seemed to calm her down as she felt him pull out some to allow Simon room to fit. She wasn’t fully prepared when she felt both of them inside of her. Neither of them moved, letting her adjust to the new feeling. Resting her hand on her stomach she moved it a bit lower feeling the bulge there. The subtle reminder of just how big John was in girth.
“Oh—please move..” her voice was a gasp barely above a whisper. She had never felt so full before, but oh did it feel perfectly right. Moving his hands up to cup her breasts Simon thrusted into her. At the same time, John pulled out before slamming himself back in.
Groaning from the feeling of John’s cock rubbing against his own as her pussy squeezed them tightly left Simon on edge. “Feels so good,” he breathed the words out.
Her mouth opened letting out a flurry of moans as their paces varied. While John was moving steadily, Simon’s pace was almost erratic. “Fuck—just like that,” she begged no one in particular.
Yet her words seemed to set both men off as they moved in tandem. Their pace seeming to match both went faster pistoning their cocks in and out of her. “So good for us lovie, always so good for us.”
The words of affection caused her to whimper before she felt his lips on hers. The kiss was dragged out and slow only fueled by John’s lips on her throat. The light prickles of his beard on her skin were comforting in a way. “You’re so beautiful, sweetheart. Always so caring and sweet for the both of us,” John’s voice vibrated against her soft skin.
She knew she wouldn’t last long from their affectionate words to their unyielding thrusts. Breaking the kiss between herself and Simon she whines, “So close, please.”
“Please what, lovie?”
The teasing tone he took on made her clench around their cocks. The action caused both men to groan as their cocks rubbed against her gummy walls. “Please let me cum, I’ll be good..”
“You’re always good, sweetheart,” John assured.
“Go ahead, lovie.”
She didn’t need to hear more as her eyes screwed shut. Her mind felt fuzzy as the warmth in her lower stomach began to spread. Gripping John’s shoulders she let out a cry as she came around their cocks with a tremble. However, they didn’t stop not yet at least as they were chasing their highs. To her, it felt like minutes but it only took seconds before they reached their own. Gripping her hips firmly John thrusted his hips up before releasing inside of her. Simon wasn’t too far behind as his cum mixed with that of John’s and hers.
Sighing breathlessly she shifted her eyes to the bulge in her stomach she had forgotten about. She could still see the outline of John’s cock against her lower stomach. But it didn’t last long as she felt both men pull out of her. Leaning back on Simon she watched as John left the room. Her eyes were concentrated on his back before they trailed to Simon.
“Lovie I-“
Shaking her head she leans up her lips pressed against his shoulder. “I’m fine, I guess I just worry a lot when you’re both not here. It’s scary to think something can happen on a mission and I wouldn’t know for a while until the mission ends.”
Simon noticed how shaky her voice was as if the thought of them getting hurt lingered in her mind. Placing his hands on her cheeks he leaned forward until his nose was touching hers. “It is scary, I couldn’t imagine having to stay home and wait for us to return. But I can promise you this, with everything in us we will always try our hardest to get back home to you. That’s how much you mean to us,” his words melted into her mind.
Keeping her eyes focused on his own she nodded her head, “I know you guys will. You always do and I’m grateful for that.”
“And we’re grateful for you,” John chimed in as he walked back into the room. He went straight to her using the towel in his hand to clean her up before pressing a kiss to her stomach. “We will always be grateful for you, I couldn’t picture myself loving anyone else besides the two of you.”
It was comforting to hear words like that from the men she loved. “I love you,” she said her words directed to both men. Pulling her close Simon kisses her forehead as he lays behind her. In front of her was John who also delivered a kiss to her forehead. “I love you too, sweetheart. Don’t be afraid to tell us when you’re worried or scared. We promise to think before we speak,” John’s words reassured her.
The same way that Simon’s touch did as his thumb rubbed her hip. “I love you, now get some sleep it’s almost four in the morning.”
That was all it took before she was closing her eyes allowing the feeling of both men beside her to lull her to sleep. She felt safe and protected between them, no longer as fearful as she was before.

Killer Sans -
Killer thinks it’s beyond adorable. Seeing you so quick to drop everything to help somebody in need intrigues him so much, as he rarely feels actual emotions and empathy. Finds your goody-two-shoes behavior to be very motivating and such a breath of fresh air. It revives the small, faint, part inside of him that was the Sans he used to be.
Another thing is that they have a thing for innocent and naive types, all things untouched by life’s evils. The mere thought of corrupting somebody so sweet and kind is…. something they dwell on very often.
Don’t worry! He won’t hurt you, no, never. He just thinks that your relationship dynamic is funny.. the big bad wolf, Killer, who’s notorious for killing hundreds of innocent monsters without remorse or pity.. and the cute little kindhearted beauty at his side, untouched by all of his evils he has committed in his lifetime.
XTale Sans -
Your purity is exactly what made him fall for you. It’s the way you treat others with a type of kindness he hasn’t seen in so long, the one that he had longed for in his traumatized life. A life where he was stuck being some sort of sickening pawn under his father’s clawed fingertips.
Has an overwhelming instinct to protect you from everyone and everything, like some sort of untrained guard dog; biting, growling, and fighting off threats for the purpose of shielding you from the horrors of the multiverse, even though this protection may or may not be needed.
He can’t have another loved one leave, he just can’t. He loves you too much for you to get hurt like everyone else, he has to protect you. Everybody in the multiverse has a sick cruelness in their souls and he can’t let the light of his life be tainted with their diseases.
Nothing you say will have stop him from being overprotective and afraid of anything and everything.
Error Sans -
Kindness is not something often found in the multiverse, and especially not standing before the very force that stuck down many worlds, ended many lives, and showed no mercy or pity to those they faced against.
And then there was you, who dared flash their sweet smile, friendly words, and sympathetic nature to the destroyer of worlds. They were shaken, this was new, this was peculiar. They had never seen such a phenomenon before.
And so, they study you, they fall in love with you, they take you under their wing.
They couldn’t let the world see something that was only meant for their sockets, and their sockets only. In the multiverse, the strongest take what they want and take what they wanted, Error did. They had to take advantage of this, they couldn’t risk having anybody else having a taste of this.
They didn’t do it to protect you, they did it because they’re lonely, and all who have not friends, allies, or companions want more then they were destined to have. And so, they became selfish, and took you for their own. Have fun.

Talking with my friend @injestedsoap about what it would be like to date the 141 guys~
Ghost: Hesitant, and would be extremely reluctant to date a civilian. I feel like he's a short term relationship kinda guy, but he's a gentleman when he's with you and he tries his best to make the experience at least somewhat memorable. Charming in his own quiet way and is a sucker for someone who not only gets his lame jokes, but laughs at them. Is more than a bit guarded esp if he's with you during a mission, but he can skate around an unwelcome conversation just fine. Not a perfect boyfriend, but he tries even if you have to pry him out of his shell little by little.
Gaz: Almost tries too hard to be perfect and normal. He knows how busy he can be and the time you spend together seems to get less and less. He has a bad habit of overcompensating. Big romantic dinners, long days spent in bed, and him trying so very hard to be attentive to your issues (even if he can't relate to them). Has more anxiety than he let's on esp when he's not in the field. Patient and understanding, but I feel like he needs someone who makes him stop and calm down. Chill in a very quard dog way, but friendly overall.
Price: Same with Gaz, but he can be distant. That doesn't mean he doesn't love you, but it's been ingrained within him to keep his private life separate from his personal. workaholic and an ex alcoholic, he tries his best to be as mentally present with you as possible. He feels guilty 90% of the time when he sees a house that looks lived in, but lonely. Would def be insecure about how much he doesn't think he deserves you, and tries to buy your forgiveness (even if there's nothing to forgive) with gifts. Bit of a hopeless romantic, but you'll never hear it from him. Would come home with a puppy for you tho
Soap: Falls in love fast and quick, and burns out twice as fast. Can be a bit intense at first, but he's loyal. Weirdly observant, and is the type to bring you a present from some forgotten conversation betweenn the two of you. Much more comfortable being FWB with someone as relationships aren't his go to. Compared to the others, he's more well adjusted to being in a relationship and he's a good boyfriend all things considering. Struggles to relate to civillians at times, and is used to being around soldiers. Can be distant and a bit dismissive, but he doesn't always mean it THAT way. Def a lust at first sight to oh I wanna keep you forever type guy

An Elvis Presley fan fic one-shot
Summary: Eadie is walking up the canyon to her uncle's house when a beautiful stranger almost runs her over, out on a car ride to clear his mind. Inspired by a memo from the amazing Hal Wallis before Easy Come, Easy Go, complaining that fans and movie theater owners think Elvis looks bad, his hair is too fluffy and black, and he "doesn't look like a Navy frogman...."
A response to the writing prompt to write a scenario involving Elvis and a car/
WC: 2.7 K
Warnings: None, a non-deadly car crash, and probably typos. I tend to leave these writing prompts to work on during the day Sunday, and I am not sure this one turned out very well... but oh well I said I was posting it.

Countyline Beach, the very edge of Malibu
It was getting harder to read in the evening light, and Eadie decided to give up, placing Valley of the Dolls down on her blanket. Setting back, she lingered on the beach, watching the orange and pink hues follow the sun and dance across the water in a rainbow of reflections just for her. It was lonely back at the empty house, but also a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle of Jakarta, which had been home for the last three years. Los Angeles was its own foreign terrain, a fact she had discovered after stepping off the plane last week, and she had yet to learn the rhythms and practices of its natives.
Looking out at the water, she stood, and wiped the sand off the bottom of her thighs, readying herself to walk back across the highway to canyon where her uncle lived. Eadie covered her eyes and looked over at Neptune’s Net, the run down, biker bar on the other side of the highway, and considered going for a beer and maybe some human contact. But she still didn’t yet feel confident using US money, and the line of Harley Davidsons out front gave her pause.
So, instead, Eadie slipped her sandals back on, threw everything in her bag, and walked leisurely across the empty two lane highway that stretched between the burnt, brown  foothill of the Santa Monica mountains to the beach. Looking over her shoulder as she started up the hill, she mused at how lucky she was to be here in the first place, housesitting on the beach in America, and made a mental note to ask how she could help out more when Uncle Ian returned from New York.  She wanted to be the kind of useful, grateful, houseguest he would invite to stay as long as she liked.
The sun was almost completely gone as she trekked up the hill, and Eadie startled when, lost in her own thoughts, she saw a large, chocolate poodle running down along the other side of the road. She walked to the middle of the lane, slapping her thighs and whistling, then slowly taking another step. Her stomach was a ball of nerves thinking of the highway 30 yards down the canyon, and what could happen to the dog if she didn’t catch it.
“Come here, boy, come here.” Eadie whispered in a slow, friendly voice.
The dog paused and quirked its ears up at her, and the recognition in its big brown eyes made her smile.
“That’s a goooood boy.”
Confident she was gaining its trust, Eadie slowly stepped towards the animal, and was just about to take another when the sudden loud roar of a car engine bounding down the canyon startled the dog into the brush. Eadie jumped back and fell down in the wake of the black convertible that swerved into the big rock on the other side of the road.
Eadie opened her eyes. The sounds of metal crashing and tires squeaking, followed by a stream of steady expletives, filled her ears. The swearing got closer as she heard a rush of footsteps that brought a tall, dark-haired man into view above her. She rubbed her eyes again, trying to focus. His blue eyes were terrified, and his face was pale, drained of blood, as he leaned down to prop her up from the dirt.
“Hey, hey hey hey hey, now, baby. You’re ok, you’re ok.”
Eadie put her arms around him, instinctively, before looking over at the crunched, smoking engine. Still in shock, she slapped his chest several times before realizing her palm was skinned and she was smudging blood all over his blue shirt.
“What the devil! Do you have any idea how reckless you are? You bloody fool, you could have died, or killed someone, driving down the canyon like that.”
The man shook his head, wiping her hair out of her face.
“And I s’pose where you come from, standing in the middle of the street is considered safe, huh?"
Then she remembered why she had been in the middle of the road.
“Wait, wait, I was in the- it - was - there was - oh no, there was a dog, there was a dog, put me down, we have to go save it.”
Eadie tried to stand, but stumbled, leaning on the man as she tried to walk another step, turning and looking around for the poodle. She almost went down completely on her next step, and so she didn’t protest when he scooped her up into his arms, but she continued to look around anxiously. Her stomach was tight again as she imagined the dog running out into one of the roads nearby.
“He was just here, please, I cannot bear to think of him running around loose, he’ll get run over, please. go see if you can catch him.”
The man shifted, his arms fixed around Eadie as he swung around in a circle, unable to ignore the intense urgency in her voice.
“Honey, there ain’t no dog here, wouldn't know which way to go.”
“Please, you’ve got to go look for him, I’ll never forgive myself, just set me down on your boot. There. He went off that way.”
The man looked deep into her eyes as he set her down on the trunk of his car, and walked over to grab her missing sandal and her other things laying in the middle of the road. He knelt down, wiped off her foot and slid her shoe on, in an almost maternal manner, then rubbed her calf before he standing all the way back up. He stared at her expectantly, as if he was waiting for her to say something. So she did, gesturing toward the brush
"Please."
“Listen, I can’t go chasing after some dog, lil girl, but I bet you dollars to donuts he's gone on home. Dogs are smarter than we give 'em credit. But I can't go a wild goose chase, baby, I gotta  figure out what I’m gonna do about this goddamn mess.” He kicked the front wheel of his car.
Eadie frowned, a wave of guilt washed over her. The dog, his car, the evening had turned into a fiasco in the blink of an eye. She bobbed her head in agreement, the guy was right, and she felt even worse noticing the smoke that was still coming out of his smashed hood.
“Oh, and your car. Think it will run?
“Oh sure, it'll run, alright. Run right into the junk yard. Ya not a mechanic, are you? The engine's gone, but also once a car gets all smashed up, it ain't never drive right again. Needs to be put out to pasture. Gonesville."
She watched as he looked past her, out the ocean, and his eyes got a sort of far away look, as if he were no longer talking about the car, but something deeper. His voice was so melancholy, Eadie's face crumpled in sympathy and a whimper escaped her throat. She wiped her eyes.
"Ugh, I think I'm in shock, still. But I'm sorry about your car, I really am. I feel so horrible."
The guy forced a half smile. "Aw, don't cry ,baby, I hardly had a chance to get attached.”
As if on cue, one of the gaskets popped and another furl of smoke went up from the engine.
“Oh it was new, that's even worse. And such a lovely car, though the steering wheel still seems like it’s on the wrong side, to me.”
“English?”
“Mhmmm, I’m Ian’s niece, I just got into town. You one of his neighbors?”
The man put his hands at his waist, or rather right below, and tapped his fingers over the top of his thighs as he leaned forward. He paused, lip hanging open, as he looked up from under his eyebrows at the road he had just come down and the handful of houses jutting out from the hills.
“Am I one of Ian’s neighbors?” He repeated back, the hint of an indignant smile curled at the side of his mouth. As if she had asked the set up to a joke.
“I haven’t met all of you, just Sarah and Mack, across from him. I’m Ian’s, niece, Eadie.”
She stuck out her hand, waiting as he hesitated, shifting and clicking his tongue before he shook it.
“Huh. Yeah, I think you might still be in shock honey, maybe you hit your head. How many fingers am I holding up?”
He passed his forefinger in front of her eyes, watching as she tracked it.
“Two. Look, I , I  - I think I’m ok to walk back to the house. How far up are you?”
The man shifted, mumbling something to himself under his breath that she couldn't make out. “Well, that sonofabitch mus really be right, people ain’t even recognizing me.”
He met her questioning eyes, and spoke up.
“Ugh, nah, I don’t live up there, jus took a turn off Mulholland to go for a drive along the coast, blow off some steam. It’s been a rough week, boy, been a rough week.”
“I’m sorry to hear that, what line of work are you in?”
Eadie pushed off the car as she spoke, testing her balance and pulling her sun dress down over her scraped knees. She was just beginning to really feel the sore twinge running through her back from the fall. Looking over at him, it struck her that the stranger was standing in a way that almost suggested he was posing for her, and it made her giggle inwardly. He coughed again, running his hand through the tuft of black hair hanging over his forehead.
“I - I’m an actor.”
Eadie patted his shoulder, apologetically.
“Ah, right, well, that it explains your rough week, doesn’t it. I imagine it can be very hard going out here for you.” She looked up the hill, then back at his car. “Listen I’m not really in the habit of inviting strange men over. But, I, well, I feel somewhat responsible for your car. Is there someone you can call for help? Maybe a garage you can hire to come tow your car?”
“Huh, yeah, I reckon I know a guy or two I can get to come help me.”
“Promise you’re not an insane killer. Or rapist. Or burglar?”
The man grinned, looking down. “Whoo boy, no, no, no ma’am. You know women have asked me a lot of weird questions over my lifetime, but that one takes the cake. How do I know you ain’t the one trying to get me alone, so you can pounce on me, huh?” He winked at Eadie, grabbing his black satin sports coat from the back seat before setting out to follow her cautious gait.
“Is that something American women do? Go about attacking men?”
“Uh, well, lil girl, you’d be surprised. ”
**********************************
Eadie had her misgivings as she led him into her uncle’s house, but there was something about his eyes, and the quiet way he mumbled inaudibly into his shoes that made her trust him. She changed into a nice pair of grey linen capri pans and a silk blouse, fixed her blonde hair neatly back with a headband, then looked around her uncle’s closet for some clean clothes for her guest.
Coming back downstairs, she stood for a moment at the landing, watching his tall, lanky silhouette shift back and forth in front of the large, open windows overlooking the Pacific Ocean. He held the phone cord in his hand, twisting it, before he turned, at the sound of her footsteps, and grinned, still speaking into the mouth piece.
“Yeah, I know it’s a new one. Nothing doin’.  Better get someone to come tow it, and then you come and pick me up too, huh? I’m on - where are we, honey?”
Eadie put the clothes down on the bar in front of him.
“Decker Canyon, just above the Pacific Coast Highway.”
“Got that Joe? We’re 'bout a mile off the PCH, street is Decker Canyon, right below Mulholland Drive. S' a ways out - anything round here?”
She gave him the only landmarks she new, the bar and a gas station a few miles before it, then bounced over to  see what she had in the fridge.  At the click of the phone, she turned back to her guest.
“Hungry? I can make us some omelets? Or bacon and egg sandwiches?”
“Sho, whatever’s clever, baby.”
Her eyes shifted over his body, noting the dirt all over the knees of his tight, white pants, and motioned to the clothes.
“I think you might be more trim than my uncle, and more stylish. But I brought you some clean clothes, if you want them. Your belt will probably do the trick.”
“Trim, huh?”
Eadie paused as she cracked some eggs, frowning at the wounded look on his face.
“Look, you don’t need me to tell you you’re handsome, I’m sure you know it or you wouldn’t be out here in Hollywood, trying to break in to your field. Right?”
He shook his head, and laughed as he strode over to her. Suddenly Eadie’s knees felt weak and it wasn’t from the crash. She dropped the egg shells she was holding.
“So you think I’m handsome, huh?”
“Well, from an objective view point.”
“Don’t think I look too fat?”
She shook her head, unable to speak, because she was too overwhelmed by the proximity of his body, his smell, the mix of sweat and spice and burnt rubber from the car crash.
“Or that my hair is too fluffy?”
Eadie forget all of the etiquette she had learned from the foreign finishing schools she had been to in India, Ceylon, Indonesia. She confidently ran her fingers through his hair, as if they were old friends or lovers, and not strangers who had just met.
“Whoever told you that is crackers. It’s just perfect.”
He grinned, and stepped back, walking off to change.
“You’re sweet, baby, know that?”
He hardly spoke when he came back in Ian’s clothes, mainly asking her about herself and what it was like to grow up as the child of an ambassador. Eadie answered his questions as they ate simple cheese omelets and drank the very sweet screwdrivers he had mixed for them.
“Ever get to the movies?”
There was a sly edge to the way he looked at her as they spoke, and she kept getting this eerie feeling of deja vu. As though they had met, perhaps he had been sitting in front of her on the plane and in the midst of jet lag, she had completely forgot about some small conversation they had. Something about his blue eyes poked at the back her mind. But she shook it off, and tried to summon all the charm she could muster.
“Sometimes they bring things in English for the Embassy, but it’s often drek. Or out cheap, British stuff. Everything from here, it takes a year of more to make its way around the world, and the dub it into Mandarin, Hindu, French, Jawa. I just saw West Side Story for the first time last month! Boy, that was a good one, dontcha think."
He pursed his lips, nodding as he ate.
"Everything in Tanzania was in French, but I that was always my worst class at school. They haven’t even got television in most of Africa yet. They set up the first station in Jakarta.”
He slid his hand over hers, and she stilled, feeling a swarm of butterflies take flight in her tummy as his thumb rubbed over her knuckles.
“American's liable to bore you, after all that.”
“Oh no, everything in America is so beautiful.” Eadie blurted out, then blushed at the smirk that grew on his face. “I - I mean the ocean, the landscape. It’s all so.” She inhaled, trying to give herself time to think of something more clever than just the same word over and over again. But she couldn’t. “Beautiful.”
His knee had just grazed hers, causing a whole other swarm of butterflies to flitter across her chest, when the doorbell rang, and Eadie jumped up to find a short, balding stout man with a wide grin, a big fancy car behind him in the drive. And before she had the chance to say beautiful ten more times, the stranger was kissing her on her cheek, his fingers linger on her neck for a beat, before bidding her farewell.
Eadie did the dishes, and wandered through the house, watching the lights of what must have been the tow truck take the black convertible away.  As she made her way upstairs to bed, Eadie noticed that he’d left his dirty, tight white trousers in the downstairs bathroom. Unsure what to do, she picked them up, and realized his wallet was in the back pocket. You could hear her shriek echo through the canyon when she looked at the driver’s license. His name was as well known in Asia as it was back in England.
“Elvis bloody Presley. I asked Elvis blinking bloody Presley if he was a rapist.” She let her head crash against the glass shower door. “Ughhh, Edith Elizabeth Isaacs, you are the idiot to end all idiots.”
She went to bed wondering if she should try to return his wallet for a chance to see him again. Or keep it as a memento to remember how Elvis Presley almost ran her over one time.

Spent today working on the mood-board for my upcoming 9-1-1 Alternative Universe Fan-Fiction Set In 2011. Making moodboard and doing interested boards help inspire me and get ideas flowing. So I want to share it. Look how adorable teenage Buck, Eddie and Shannon are. They look so young, little cutie pies.
It will be called "don't have to be sorry for leaving and growing up." It is from Harry Style's Matilda.
Below is what I have written so far, it is still in the works. You can also check out my 9-1-1: Lone Star Fan-Fiction.
---
Set in the early 2010s with barely eighteen and barely out of high school Buck and Eddie running away from home to California and joining the fire academy and eventually joining the 118. Eddie would bring baby Christopher with him. Eddie's parent did not think he was mature and adult enough to take care of Chris as a 20-something year old, so is would be even worse for teenagers, people who are transiting from childhood/teenage-hood to young adulthood and still being treated like kids.
---
It is June of 2011. The schools wide across the nation are all out for summer vacation from Hershey, Pennsylvania to El Paso, Texas.
Evan Buckley is the blonde, blue eye rascal who is always getting hurt and in trouble. He is the baby of the family but the only person who has ever paid attention to him is his big sister Maddie.
Edmundo Diaz is the young teen dad who got his best friend and girlfriend pregnant. He is the middle child and was the sane one compared to sisters until now.
They say if you want to be treated like an adult act like an adult. How are supposed to act like an adult at eighteen years old, haven’t been out of high school even a month, being dragged home by the cops and being scolded at the front door or being yelled in your childhood bedroom. Sometimes this makes you want to run away.
----
It is June of 2011.
The city of El Paso, Texas school district has let for summer break and held graduation for this year’s high school seniors, they are no longer twelfth graders.
They are adults or as much as one can feel like an adult at eighteen years old, and silently sobbing in your childhood bedroom, hugging your worn-out stuffed animal dog with your back pressed against the door, trying not to wake your napping infant son who in his crib as your mother is yelling at you.
“Edmundo Diaz, you are in so much trouble young man. Open this door right now! You live under in my house. You live by my rules and aren’t too old to be put over my knees. Just wait until your father gets home. I can’t do deal with you.”
Edmundo Diaz or Eddie as he prefers being called was a good catholic boy. He never misbehaved or caused trouble but a little too soft, that was until Shannon showed up. They met in the eighth grade. They became best friends and were inseparable until they lose touch but found their way back to each other. She introduced herself being all sweet and friendly. She was sunshine. His family hated Shannon. They said she was a bad influence on him and he started acting different after meeting her. She was his first kiss, his first girlfriend, this first time. Good catholic boys wait until marriage, she is his first and only.
Shannon will back soon, she is visiting colleges in California. When she comes back they will make a plan for themselves and for their beautiful baby boy, Christopher. For now, he has been having never ending fights with his parents. It is about how stupid he was getting a girl pregnant while still in high school and a teenager or how he needs to toughen up or grow up. It is kind of hard to grow up when nobody goes around hiring eighteen-year-old and your parents are still treating you like a child.
“Edmundo, how could you let this happen? You and Shannon are still kids. You are barely able to take care of yourselves. How are you supposed to take care of a baby?”

Title | Beckoning
Pairing | Jeno x reader ft. Motel keeper!Renjun
Warning(s) | minors dni! NSFW, Mention of a questionable ‘pill’, smoking, sexual content, thigh riding, fingering
Word count | 900ish?
Song(s) | Meet Me At Sachas - Space Afrika
“You’re not from here are you?”
You rubbed a thumb across your upper lip, smearing the red tint of your lipstick slightly on the corner of your lip. You looked up to the friendly face of the old man you’ve grown accustomed to the moment you sat by the counter of the old diner where your malfunctioning gps had taken you as the rainstorm wrecked havoc, disabling you from continuing down the road.
You let him eye you for a second as you drank a mouthful of your warm coffee, smiling a little. “Is it that obvious?”
“Well, it’s very rare for us to have someone like you at this ungodly hour.” The old man began to wipe the wooden counter as you sighed, pondering if you should ask for another refill without less cream this time. “Unless you’re driving back to college but around this time? It’s poor timing.”
You propped your arms under your chin, resisting to the urge to just sleep in front of the old man. You like to think he’d let you but you weren’t sure if that’s even allowed. You do need a bed after all and the motel you’ve booked forty-five minutes away had that.
“I know. I’m moving to a new town actually…”
He raise a brow at you now, questioning the fact that you just admitted that. “And it couldn’t wait until tomorrow?”
“No. Something told me it was a good idea to leave tonight.”
“But it’s raining cats and dogs out there.” He says, causing you to giggle.
“Yeah, my bad about that but think about it this way… It’ll be refreshing once it’s done. Like it’s a new start for me, y’know?”
“Well, if you put it that way kiddo then sure.” You think he’s respecting the nature of your answer and you thank him for that. The last thing you’d want to do right now is explain why you’re so eager to get out of your hometown. You know it wasn’t for the light-hearted. “You have somewhere to sleep at?”
“My car.” You joked but he squints at you, wishing you’re lying to his face. “Just kidding! It’s forty-five minutes away. Were you gonna offer me a bed here?”
“I was going to but I don’t trust you enough to hold the fort down when someone breaks here.” His tone was serious, yet you could feel a mischievous glint in those light brown eyes. “It gets… dangerous here after midnight so you should probably go soon.”
“Really?” You joked. You, however, did put that suggestion in the back of your head. “I’ll leave after you give me some water then.”
By 11 pm, you bid your goodbyes to the old man. You forgot to ask what his name was and thank him for giving you his time. You’re not sure why he didn’t introduce himself either but you didn’t really care. You don’t think you’ll meet him anytime soon anyway but you did remind yourself to do so if you come across him again. He was nice but you think it’s probably because that’s the first time you felt genuine warmth from what could be a father figure in your lonely life.
By the time you were back on the road, the rain had miraculously stopped. You drove in complete silence, just letting yourself bask into the aftermath of the rainstorm as you disappeared into the dark roads enveloped in between a canopy of tall pine trees. Your nose twitched at the strong scent of damp, earthy soil so you closed your window with your free hand, right one on the steering wheel. You thank the coffee for keeping you up and more focused on the road until you eventually reached your final stop for the night.
“Hello?”
You announce yourself to what seemed like a deserted reception of the 3-star motel you booked.
The dim-lit hallway to your right looked so inviting so all you could think of is the comfort of your own room and a bed you saw from the previews prior booking a room but because there was no one here to welcome you and get you settled in, you couldn’t help but start to lose patience.
“Hi, sorry about the delay.” A young-looking man just a couple of inches taller than you greeted you behind the desk after what seemed like forever. He kept a straight face as he confirmed your name and reservation number so you spend some time studying him — from his conventionally handsome face all the way to his plain white dress shirt and a birthmark on his slender hand hovering on the keyboard.
Renjun, his name plate read.
“Here’s your keycard. Have a good night.” He brings you out of your stupor, sliding a piece of plastic across the desk for you to grab.
“Yeah, you as well.” You make a direct eye contact, grinning at him in which he had politely returned before you watch him leave the desk again, the small of his back rendering you speechless until you found yourself alone with your suitcase yet again.
He was handsome, you made a note. But you think there was something slightly off with him.
Or maybe I just need sleep? Yeah probably.
You slid the keycard into the slot of your room, followed by the series of sounds your beat up suitcase made, shutting the door with your back. You didn’t even bother with the main lights and went for the lone lamp in a corner of your small room. After you had successfully removed your boots followed by your windbreaker, you crawled towards the single bed and slipped under the comforter. You didn’t mind the fact that it reeked of cigarette smoke since you’re too exhausted to care.
It didn’t take long for you to fall asleep as pure exhaustion wracked your nerves even if you had coffee earlier, the somber yet cozy atmosphere simply lulling you to your unconscious state.
It was silent for the next few hours. You didn’t toss around for the first time in your life in an attempt to find a comfortable position to sleep in until 2 am brought you back on your feet as you staggered into the mini fridge, clutching the side of your head in an attempt to cater to the throbbing sensation you felt. You grab a pill on top of the table near the fridge, shoving it down your throat with cold water then you were back to bed, already falling asleep and feeling better.
So much better, you even dreamed of someone — a boy. You’ve never met him before but unlike Renjun, this boy has a strong jaw, pretty dark eyes and fair complexion. His luscious dark hair slightly longer and he was broad, way taller than you. He stood by the reception talking to a solemn-looking Renjun. You see yourself hiding in the hallway, hearing murmurs being exchanged from the two before the taller boy walked back out. You wait until Renjun leaves before springing into the parking lot, looking for the boy in the dark.
“You got no shoes on.”
You whip your head to the direction you heard the raspy voice from. There’s a slight tease coating his tone, you think.
“I-I forgot?” You reason, feeling the inviting sensation pulling you to him. He’s leaning on the hood of his car, cigarette perched between his pretty lips.
“Want some?” He nods off, slipping the cigar off to offer it to you. You can see him more better now and he was extremely attractive and quite enchanting to look at to the point that it was starting to mess with you.
“No…” You stop just when you feel your knees brush against his, your full attention all over him and the way he took another grey puff of smoke and exhale away from you before meeting your eyes with a spark of allure.
“Why are you out here? Talking to me?” He pressed with a raise brow. “Isn’t it late?”
“Not sure.” You say, eyes never leaving his. You didn’t have your windbreaker on but for some reason, you felt warm. “I just want to be here?”
“That’s not enough reason to convince me.” He chuckled under his breath, looming closer to you now. Despite him sitting, he appeared to be taller still, and way more in control. “Pretty sure there’s something else, sweetheart.”
“I just feel… funny?” You say, swallowing a lump in your throat. You don’t know why you’re feeling this way at all but you were curious. “I didn’t lie when I said I want to be here…I want to be here to see you it seems?”
“You sound unsure.” He waves you off with a grin, finally relaxing on the hood of his car, both arms perched behind him now but here you are, a little nervous with the way he scrutinized you from your bare feet now probably dirty from not wearing your shoes and all the way to your now flushed face. “I don’t think we’ve met before.”
“We haven’t…” You bite your lip, slowly eyeing the thin material of his black tank hugging his lean and muscular frame. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by cold gust of wind pummelling to your direction but you began to rub your arms, shivering lightly but you ignore it, continuing on with pleading eyes. “But here I am.”
“And you think that’s all it matters, right?” He drawls, watching you attentively — like the way your chest rose and fell and your heartbeats accelerating solely because of him. “You believe yourself, yeah?”
“Yes.” You huffed, closing your eyes briefly before you fluttered them open. You inched closer, gaze falling on his pinkish lips. “I believe myself.”
“Wanna sit on my lap then?” He patted his right thigh, honeyed voice sending another burst of shivers down your spine. You couldn’t help but to whimper as he spread his thighs for you to sit on. “To warm you up a little?”
“Yes.”
You don’t know how it happened but eventually, you found yourself rutting yourself on his clothed thigh chasing your high as he watched you like a prey, quite entertained with the way you struggled like a dog in heat, desperate for a mind-numbing orgasm but before he lets you go and gives you what you want, he wraps his strong arms around your waist, forcibly lifting you up so he can move your soaked panties to the side and slip his cold fingers inside your wet, pulsating hole, fingering you right there and then.
“You’re making a mess.” He whispered rather harshly, allowing you to rest your head on his shoulder as you gasped and clamped a hand on your mouth, suppressing your loud moans threatening to spill out of you, his long fingers going in faster motions until the lewd squelching noise of your arousal could be heard in the crisp nightly air. “Come sweetheart…fuck yourself on my fingers you want so bad yeah? Aren’t you a good girl…. Doing so well for me and only me.”
It took a couple of seconds before you felt yourself snap for of how much he repeatedly hit your sweet spot and he was so, so cunning with the use of dirty words he chided into your ear, making you roll your eyes in back of your head.
“Fuck!”
You screamed, shaking nonstop as you lift yourself off him only for him to yank you back down, forcing you to release with his fingers still inside you. You couldn’t help to bite on his shoulder in the middle of it all. You haven’t even fucked him and you already claim this was the most amazing orgasm you have ever experienced to date.
You collapsed against his chest, waiting for your frantic heartbeats to settle down as you feel his hand ghosting to your back, soothing you. You almost purred when he let out a dry chuckle and muttered a loving “good job.” to praise you. It didn’t even register the fact that he’d touched your chin, turning your face to his until you felt him kiss you with much fervour, earning another sigh of relief from you when he slipped his tongue into yours. You let him take full control, ultimately taking your breath away when he planted open-mouthed kisses from your jaw to the base of your throat now fully exposed for him. You like how his kisses made you quiver, sending goosebumps all over your skin. He felt oddly cold and you somehow liked it.
“I don’t even know your name,” You smiled to yourself, basking into the way he licked a stripe of your soft skin followed by another sensual kiss. “You have to tell me, please?”
“Jeno.”
He finally whispers, his hand fisting your hair so he can tilt your head downwards, intending to mark up your neck.
“Jeno…” You repeat in a hushed whimper, giving him the reigns as you fully surrendered to his incredible erotic ministrations. You didn’t care about having sex with this gorgeous man out in the open right now. You wouldn’t even mind if Renjun sees the both of you. If anything, you’d let him join or maybe watch if that was more of his thing. “Pretty name for a pretty boy…”
You closed your eyes in satisfaction as you drowned in his embrace, completely missing the fact that he had opened his mouth wider inches away from your neck, upper fangs ready to puncture through your vein.
You never woke up from what you thought was a mere dream.
A.N | ….I’m sorry lol. This not edited or proof-read too I typed this up my phone after getting that jolt of wanting to write about Jeno ;)

"What is that?..." You mumbled to yourself, drying your hands on the kitchen towel.
You had been in the middle of chopping vegetables for you and Eddie, when a squeeky noise from the living room caught you off guard.
"Eds? Are you okay sweetheart?"
This morning, Eddie had promised to treat you. He was going to cook your favourite pasta dish for dinner. Cooking was one of his hidden talents, and he adored creating wholesome and hearty meals for you.
But, no sooner as the day began, your partner began to slip. Throughout the months of your relationship, you had learned Eddie's behaviours like the back of your hand. You knew the signs. Silent leg bounces and lip bites were enough of an indicator; before long he would tripping over the carpet, staring doe eyed, unable to navigate through his thoughts or his surroundings, ready to surrender to little space.
Today was no exception, as fifteen minutes ago you set Eddie down on his beanbag with a colouring book, kissing the top of his head softly before venturing into the kitchen to cook the pasta instead. You didn't mind. Your little guy needed a break. After everything he'd been through, you understood he needed time to relax, escape, and lose reality for a little while.
Peeking around the kitchen door, you realised that Eddie had left his beanbag, and crawled towards a fluffy toy that lay in the centre of the floor.
"What you got there?" You asked, intrigued by what the brunette was up too.
"Funnwy noise! Wook!" Eddie responded with glee, gesturing for you to look at his discovery.
Gently plucking the toy out of his fingers, you realised that this belonged to your dog. For Halloween this year, you had purchased a squeaky bat toy for your puppy, and now it seemed little Eddie had taken a liking to it.
"Eds, this belongs to the doggy. I'm sorry bubba, it isn't yours."
You tried to keep your tone quiet and caring, but you could see your partners lip starting to quiver.
"Hey, hey, it's okay little one. Remember, you have soooo many other toys to play with, don't you?" You picked up Eddie's dragon plushie, waving it with a smile.
But Eddie didn't smile back. Tears began to well in his eyes, as he gazed sadly at the dog toy.
"But... I wan the bat..."
"I know sweetie, but I'm so sorry I can't let you have it. It's been in the dogs mouth, and she's probably stepped all over it too." You explained softly, hoping to appease him.
"But.. but.."
Cries escaped his mouth before he could finish his sentence, hiccuping as he tried to supress his small sobs of defeat.
"Oh honey, it's okay, come here" You cooed, opening your arms to hug the little guy.
"NO!" Eddie screamed, turning his back on you, tears streaming down his delicate features.
Your heart shattered. You loved him more than anything in the world, and you wished you could give him everything he ever wanted. But he couldn't have that bat toy. You needed to make this right.
In a brainwave, you quickly opened your phone, typed in some keywords, and punched in your credit card details, before turning your attention back towards Eddie, who was now laying on the floor in adorable protest.
/
The following day wasn't much better. Your little curly haired menace tossed and turned all night, and was now sat sulking in front of the television, his legs tucked into his chest.
You motioned to the bowl of chicken nuggets on the table. "Come on sweetheart, aren't you going to eat your yummy nuggets?"
Shaking his head, Eddie frowned, his eyes fixed on the TV screen.
"Bubba, plea-
Ding Dong
The sound of the doorbell diverted your focus, and you padded over to the door. You breathed a sigh of relief when you saw the parcel delivery man. You'd been anticipating this package since the moment you ordered it the previous evening.
"Eddieeeeeee" You sang, headed back over to the sofa. "Look what's hereeeee"
Perching next to him, you allowed Eddie to take the small brown box from your hands.
"F-for me?"
"Yes! You can go ahead and open it."
Keeping your fingers crossed, you watched in optimism as your little brunette teared into the paper, to reveal a brand new bat plushie.
Eddie's face lit up, a smile wider than any you'd ever seen from him before. Your heart fluttered, as he threw his arms around you with a childlike force.
"Oh my Gawd! A new bat! Fank you fank you!!" He exclaimed, hugging the bat close to his chest.
You exhaled, cupping your partners chin, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek. "Anything for you, my little bubba."
With a grin, Eddie lay his head on your lap, catching up on the cuddles he had missed over the past 24 hours.
"I wove you, Y/N."
"I love you too, Eddie."

A leap of faith
Henry Cavill x reader
Tumblr media
Credits to gif maker
Summary: When one cold December morning you took a leap of faith and decided to see the part of the city that you’ve never been before and soon you come to realize how many leaps of faith you needed to take. ( a close-up to two people falling in love)
Warnings: mention of anxiety and hints to a bad mental health, reader drinks alcohol, mention of smut
Words: 4K
Love is a leap of faith
It was getting cold again and that time of the year started to get closer and closer. The city was already carefully decorated with the lights, the trees, the stores, everything screamed Christmas. Even though you just moved to a different country and didn’t know anyone yet, you’ve had the privilege to get to know yourself on a very deep level. Maybe it was the solidarity and peace you’ve discovered that you didn’t feel so alone.
Back in your home country, you’ve felt alone and depressed even though you had friends all around you but now you could see at that there was a lot of drama in your life. You had to get out and had a very deep gut feeling that you needed to leave this place and you were now certain, that you felt all of that for a reason. Even though Christmas was a month and a half away, you didn’t feel lonely. You felt okay and at peace. Maybe even the happiest than you’ve ever been.
You would lie to yourself if peace and solidarity wasn’t all you wanted in life. You were finally okay with yourself and the moment you left your country, that was where your self-love journey started. You still had a long road ahead but you already made it so far.
Today you had peaceful day but woke up very early. You looked at your clock and it was 5 am. You sighed a bit but decided to just get out. If you wanted to, you could take a nap later. You got some comfy yet warm clothes so you could get out. You made some coffee, put your headphones on and listened to some music.
You walked to your window to look down at the city. It was obviously still dark outside but you saw the city still light up. You drank your coffee while staring out of your apartment. You were very lucky with this place. You had enough space. You had a bedroom, a livingroom and a beautiful kitchen. The ceiling was high and it was just absolutely perfect already before you even made it your own little place.
You were a bit in thought and felt slightly anxious for no apparent reason so you decided to have a morning stroll after your coffee. You grabbed your coat, mittens and beanie before walking down.
You stepped out of the building complex and was greeted by snow. You smiled and felt so complete, it was all you ever dreamed off. You got some hot Christmas drink at your local coffeeshop and You made your way through the park and didn’t really come across a lot of people since it was so early. Until there came a dog running over to you. You recognized the dog from somewhere. Like you’ve seen the dog before but couldn’t really place it in your head. You looked around but there was nobody around and the dog just sat there with you. “Are you a friendly dog buddy?” The dog wagged it’s tail and you smiled slightly. You carefully petted the dog and once you noticed that it was okay, you tried searching for a collar and a tag until you heard someone shout “Kal?” You looked at the dog, who was still chilling next to you until the owner came into view.
It was Henry Cavill and you started to slightly panic. You looked around you in disbelieve but tried to gather yourself since he came closer. Kal ran to Henry, who already saw you. “I’m so sorry, he get exited some times.” Henry told you as he walked up to you. “Oh it’s okay, don’t worry about it. I like dogs so it’s just fine.” You told him with a slight giggle. You wanted to punch yourself at how cringy you felt.
Henry smiled with a bit of relief. “Thank you.” there was a silence before Henry spoke up again, seemingly out of a trance. “I’m Henry by the way and this is Kal.” He reached out his hand for you to shake. You shook his hand “Hi, I’m Y/N” you both smiled. “Are you new here?” he asked you all of a sudden and it took you a bit by surprise. “I just… come here often and haven’t seen you around. I’m sorry, I don’t mean to be rude.” He quickly said and scratched his head from embarrassment.
You chuckled “I actually am new here. Just moved here a couple of weeks ago and I’ve never taken a walk this way before.” This time Henry looked surprised. “Oh where did you move from?” He asked you interested. You told him your home country and started chatting about it. “So you haven’t seen everything yet?” he asked you after a while laughing when you confessed that you haven’t seen a lot. You chuckled and shook your head. “Nope.”
“And your friends didn’t offer to take you this way?” you chuckled and shook your head “No, not really.” You haven’t really made friends yet but you choose to keep that for yourself yet. Henry seemed deep in thought while he looked at you. “Eh well, I have to go to work but I’m off around 5. If you’re interested, I know a couple of very good restaurants and the best places around town. I’d love to show you around.” Henry awaited your reaction while you tried to process it. “You obviously don’t have to if you don’t want to.” He added. “No, I’d actually would like that.” You told him, making him smile.
“Can I have your number?” he asked you with a smile and you gave him your phone. He put his number in it and called himself before giving the phone back to you. “I’ll text you. It was lovely to meet you Y/N, and I’ll see you tonight then.” You smiled. “It was nice meeting you too, see you tonight Henry.” You told him and you both smiled at each other before walking away.
You saw that you’ve chatted half an hour with each other. You never really went to go out with someone that you just met half an hour ago but the hell with that. You were changing and so were your habits. Besides, you were curious about this side of town. You went into town and sat down at another local coffee shop. You got some breakfast and read your book. You finished the book and decided to get a new one and a new cute outfit for tonight.
You went into a store and immediately found something nice and cute. You walked into another store for some self-care products and got into a old bookstore. You were wandering around and took your time before buying two books. You were happy with your purchases. You saw a little market and quickly bought a wine for yourself and made your way home. You checked your phone and saw a text from Henry “I’ll pick you up around 6, does that work for you?” you smiled and texted back “Absolutely, can’t wait!.”
You smiled and couldn’t believe it that you were going on a date with Henry Cavill. Was it a date? You questioned yourself and that was when doubt kicked in. You shrugged it off for now. You’ll notice when the time comes around. You laid down on the couch, your new book in hand and some candles lit. You put an alarm on so if you would fall asleep or lose track of time, you were sure to know.
At one point you got cold and decided to continue reading in the bathtub. You felt your muscles relax and got warm again. Your alarm went off, telling you that you should get ready. You put some different music on and put your new outfit on and applied some make-up. You texted Henry your address and did some finishing touches, applying some perfume until your doorbell rang. You took a deep breath, collected yourself and opened the door.
“Hey.” You smiled as you saw Henry with some flowers and wine. “Hey, I brought you flowers and some wine.” You smiled and stepped aside. “Thank you so much, come in.” You let Henry in and got the flowers and wine from him. “I didn’t know what kind of flowers you liked so I got some wine as well but then I figured, I don’t even know if you drink or like wine.” He was rambling and you chuckled. “It’s perfect, thank you very much.” He smiled.
“I like your apartment.” He told you honestly as he looked around him. “Thank you, been working on making it a cozy home.” You told him as you put the flowers in some water. “You’ve been doing a great job as far as I can see.” You chuckled. “Do you want something to drink or do you want to go?” You asked him a bit uncomfortable, not knowing how to behave for a moment. “I’d love to but I made a reservation. I hope you don’t mind?” he asked you and you felt a bit relieved to get out of your house. “That’s fine. Where are we going?” you asked him as you got your coat. “Oh let me help.” He told you and got your coat. You felt a bit flustered but let him do his thing. He helped you with your coat and you got your bag and keys.
You both walked out of your apartment complex and down the stairs. Henry offered his arm to you and you gratefully took it. You gave him a shy smile. He had a slight grin on his face, knowing how to treat a woman right.
You chatted a bit on your walk to the restaurant until you stood in front of it. It was a nice cozy little restaurant. Even though it was small, it still had very much style. Henry held the door open for you and you thanked him with a smile and a nod. Henry took your coat off and you felt flustered. Henry let the waitress now that he had reservations and she walked you both to the table. You could see the waitress trying to flirt with Henry but he ignored it. You didn’t knew if he ignored it on purpose or didn’t see it.
Henry held the chair for you and you sat down while he slightly adjusted the chair. God it was so hot how he treated you and you loved every single moment of it. Henry sat across from you and you decided on a red wine, which Henry got too.
Henry started asking some deeper stuff about you and why you left, which you answered honestly. When you fell into some deeper conversation you could feel the energy shift in the room. Henry only had attention for you and was listening intently. It felt like a very intimate moment. You asked him some deeper questions and continued to connect with him until the food arrived.
“Can I ask you something?” Henry asked you and you nodded. “Yeah of course” he smiled “I ehm Did you already know who I was when we met?” you knew what he was hinting at but noticed he was a little apprehensive about asking you. You gave him a warm smile. “Yes I did. I know you’re an actor, a great one at that if I might add. But I like the real you even more.” you told him honestly yet boldly, hinting that you liked him. He got a big smile and you could swear you saw him blush. “Thank you” you saw that he was a bit at lost for words but really meant the thank you, he gave you.
“I can’t believe I haven’t asked you yet but what do you do for work?” he asked you a bit surprised that he hadn’t asked you sooner. You smiled “I’m a multi media designer and writer actually. Right now, I have my own business and work for a big festival in my country. I’ll go back around festival season so I can work there. It’s doable from anywhere over the world but when the festival comes closer, it’s more practical for me to be there on sight.” Henry nodded and was very interested in what you told him.
“What about writing?” he asked you intrigued “Well, I write stories, a lot of them actually and it started out as a hobby and now it’s partially my job. I already wrote a book.” Henry looked even more intrigued. “Is it something I could now? What’s it called?” you chuckled and gave him the title of your book and you saw his eyes went big and he looked in utter surprise at you. “No way! Are you serious? That’s my favorite book!” You chuckled and saw him shift on his seat to get closer to you. “Thank you.” this time it was your time to be at lost for words.
“I’m actually in contact with Netflix about it… they might want to make it in a series. We have a meeting tomorrow.” He looked even more surprised. “No way, that would be amazing!” he chuckled and you smiled, nodding. “That would seriously be a hit at the box-office” he told you seriously. “I’m sorry, I’m just a big fan of your work.”  You chuckled “Thank you very much and it’s quite the irony isn’t it?” you chuckled as to earlier before when he asked you if you knew him already. Henry chuckled as well “Yeah, it sure is.”
Henry asked you a bit more about the festival and he could see the sparks in your eyes when you told him about it. You told him all the amazing things that happened, leaving out the not so fun parts out and saved them for later. Henry just smiled at how passionate you were about it until you realized how much and long you were talking about it. “I’m so sorry, I’ve been talking a while about it haven’t I?” You told him a bit embarrassed and he quickly shook his hand and softly placed his hand on top of yours. “Don’t worry about it! I love hearing you talk about it so passionately, I can only admire that.” You felt very flustered at his words and felt the heat spreading across your cheeks as you looked down.
You both finished dinner and when the check came in, Henry quickly took it. “I don’t mind splitting…” you told him but he shook his head. “No absolutely not, I asked you out and I want to.” He told you and you were assured that it was okay. You thanked him and he helped you get up out of your seat and with your coat again and obviously the door.
You both stood outside. “Ready to see this part of town?” he asked you with a smile and you nodded. He held out his arm for you again and you obviously took it. It was a little slippery from all the fallen snow and you held Henry’s arm a bit tighter. He showed you all of the gorgeous places around that part of town. You came across a cozy bar and you both looked at each other. “Want to get warmed up?” Henry asked you with a smile which you returned “Yeah definitely.” You chuckled out.
Henry held out the door for you and once again got your coat, helping you sit down. You ordered your favorite drink and Henry a Guinness. You chatted through the music and both got a little buzzed. Laughing at each other’s stories. You started to feel butterflies for the man in front of you. But not only that, it felt like you’ve met a real friend as well. There was a small band that started playing some live music.
It all just felt so incredibly right and at home as you looked around. You had great company, there was nice music, the bar was cozy and warm with Christmas decorations all over it, the drinks were nice, life felt good again. Like there was a reason that you’ve been through that formation. “Hey, you okay?” Henry asked when you were drifting away in thoughts. You looked at him and gave him a warm genuine smile “Yes, very much so.” He smiled a little flustered himself which you did too. It felt like you were in love high school kids again around each other. Even though it was so soon, you both hit if off great, perfectly even.
After a while you both decided to continue your journey again. Once outside you held his arm by yourself this time, catching his attention. “Oh, I’m sorry I thought.” You quickly got your hand away. Henry smiled adoringly at you. “No, it’s okay.” He told you reassuring and held out his arm again. You hid your smile in your scarf. “I found this perfect spot a couple of days ago. I don’t know how I haven’t found it sooner.” He told you as he led you to the place.
It was a small park with a little pond going through it. “If you stand just in the middle of the bridge, you can see the whole town” he told you and you both got on the wooden bridge. You were in awe of the sight laid out in front of you. “It’s gorgeous” You told him as you both stared at the lit up city.
“I’m pretty sure there are more spots like these around. Just haven’t found it yet. Maybe you would like to explore them together some time…?” he asked you carefully as if it was a heavy load on his chest. You turned around and couldn’t hide the smile “Together?” he got a bit nervous. “Only if you’d like.” He reassured you. “I’d love that.” You told him and he smiled, relief over his face. You both looked at each other and looked away with smiles on both of your faces. Yeah, definitely acting like high school kids. Henry lowered his arm slightly, bringing your arm with him and his hand went over the back of your hand until he intertwined your fingers together.
You both smiled again and felt flustered as your heart was taking leaps and the butterflies multiplied. “I really like your energy and company.” You smiled in your scarf again. “I really like yours too.” You told him and you could feel his thumb softly going over the back of your hand. “Is this okay?” he asked you softly scared to push the moment away. “Yeah, very much.”
It became silent again, making you feel a bit nervous as if this was the first time you fell in love with someone. The feeling of how right things felt and as if you’ve known him your entire life took over you. Like this was exactly where you needed to be. For once feeling that you were finally right where you should be and there for on the right path. You looked down at your hands which Henry noticed and did too. You looked at him and was unable to look away. The way the light of the moon glowed over his face, the freckle in his eye, the way that one curl fell to the front, the way he smiled and looked adoringly at you, they way his eyes held kindness than nothing more got you pulled into a pool of safety and comfort and it was at that moment, you were in deep.
Someone said that falling in love was literally taking a leap of faith. Falling in love was like surrendering to the other person and saying: “You can do anything to me” and hope for the best. The faith in someone not to take advantage. In a way that is completely mad because it takes a big risk and a leap of faith but no sensible human would let control out of their hands. Yet, love is able to do everything. For the first time in your life you weren’t afraid of falling in love anymore. You wanted to take this leap of faith and surrender to the strong feeling called love.
His hand cupped your cheek softly and you saw him looking at your features, taking in everything. Your hand found his coat and your fingers played with the texture of his coat. Automatically you pulled him slowly closer, his breath visible in the cold air just like yours until you felt warm air against your lips and you closed your eyes, getting ready to completely surrender.
You closed the gap between you two. His lips, warm and soft against yours, both sighting in the kiss, his hand slowly going to the back of your head, your fingers tugging into his coat as you pulled him closer. Henry deepened the kiss and you felt his tongue softly against yours. The kiss was so passionate and sensual, it was like something you’ve never experienced before, slowly taking both of your sweet time. It was addicting, you wanted more but fought against that feeling. You noticed that he was doing the same as the kiss slowed down and his lips separated from yours.
His forehead still resting against yours as you tried to catch your breath visibly in the cold air. “So… about that second date.” Henry broke the silence as you both started to laugh. “Yeah I’d like that.” Henry placed his lips against yours for a quick kiss, both smiling and grinning like idiots.
~ A year later ~
“Y/N! Over here!” there were flashes everywhere, blinding you slightly. Henry walked up to you with a big smile and placed his arm around you. You were on the red carpet for the tv series from your book. The day after your first date with Henry you had that meeting and let’s just say that it went amazing. You and Henry celebrated that night with sushi at your place and sharing the wine that he bought you.
More dates followed and the feeling grew stronger every day until one heated evening where you both couldn’t take it anymore. You both took that leap of faith and surrendered to each other. As if you both placed your sword down, accepting the faith. You fell in love before, yeah sure but this was different. You couldn’t explain it, it was a feeling like everything is how it should be.
You supported Henry with his new projects and accompanied him to shows and red carpets and he supported you with the making of your new series, the new book you were writing and stood next to you with the festival. That might’ve been his favorite memory. Now not only could he hear it, he could see it, feel it, experience it. He saw you in a new light, making him fall even deeper in love. The passion and love radiating from you with that festival… it radiated off of you and lifted up everyone who came across you. It was almost magical..
And now, he accompanied you on the red carpet. He loved that you got the recognition that you deserved. He wanted the world to see you shine. He knew you were something else in every good way possible and you were finally able to shine your light upon the world and show what you were capable of. Henry gladly stood besides you. in all the good and all the bad. It was faith after all.

more aisposting [demo spoilers]
while he's VERY open about a lot of things (about the seaspring & himself—things related to the groupmind & Ocudeus, "i was lonely," "people get honest when they're afraid" + "I'll buy you a drink for scaring you") he is very emotionally distant/closed off ("i only have one friend" reports man surrounded by people who are friendly with him & hang out with him + "don't worry, you'll never have to talk about your feelings" uquiz result description).
In regards to him & Vere, he and Vere are close and he likes Vere ("friends with benefits, but got too attached") but doesn't trust him emotionally (see above "only one friend"). In contrast, Ais is "the only person Vere's shown his true face to"— meaning Vere trusts him highly. given this I would love to explore how their relationship could develop, in both good & bad ways.
here's where i devolve into a stream of thoughts:
•"dislikes: isolation" & gets lonely easily -> why he's got so many pets -> also BUDDY IT'S YOUR ATTACHMENT ISSUES
•something about Mr Thing-With-Loneliness being the local Groupmind Guy. "One big happy family all in your head" hmm
•something about Mr Thing with Loneliness and eye imagery. his pact buddy is EyeGod ON PURPOSE...... connection vs perceiving /being perceived... hmm.
•also minor sidenote hes got "only One Friend in his head" (he is not a part of the Big Happy Family groupmind & retains his individuality)..... i think abt his relation to the groupmind itself a lot. They seem to be aware of his location at any given time, but don't know very much about him? ("ais is a gang leader" says groupmind lady on the stairs VS "gang took a walk" quoth mr all alone now....)
•I personally feel that in that situation he's referring to his old gang —the one that is no longer with him— because his expression when he delivers the line is a fake smile. it appears cordial and masks discomfort or discontent, & i think whatever happened in his past is a loaded subject for him
•@ the bar scene he says "he got lonely" so he went to hang out with Vere and Leander specifically.. theyre his (relatively speaking.) best buds
•he enjoys Kuras's company but doesn't go to hang out with him when he's lonely, because he's aware of Kuras's emotional distancing methods (kuras also doesn't drink, which i think could be related to him potentially not needing food or drink / just not liking alcohol / refraining from drunken social activities)
•in my brain he's such a dog boy. relevant character traits i see in him as a result include loyalty (i feel that, whatever happened with his Old Gang, he didn't just up and leave them) and liking biting. thanks

why I think some of the smiling critters are alive
In chapter one in the vents their are these writings on the wall, each in a different color, and different hand.
But their is one thing that each if the characters is their interests. Mainly picky piggy, you see she's a foodie. But one of the writings in the vent mentions food alot.
And their is more evidence. Every time a cardboard cut out of the smiling critters scream, it sounds kinda like a recording of the cartoon when they all screamed after they had to much poppy Gas, yes I looked back at the cartoon.
But their could be more evidence to this. Some of ypu might know this but their is a secret room near where dogday is. It has levers, obsticals and more. Showing that it might be for a chase scene ment to be in the game, but wad never finished.
But the fact it's hiding behind a wall kinda looks like someone wad trying to hide something or someone. Maybe dog day lied about being the last critter left to protect his friends
I mean he is the "leader" of the group and "Each trusts him to find the bright side in any situation, and to have a friendly word of encouragement should they feel down. He'll always keep his friends going, no matter what".
It could mean he hid some of the critters away into a safe place
But theirs more. Their are two smiling critters who don't scream. One of them being bobby bear hug, instead a scream at the end she just says "I'm very lonely" meaning she could have been left behind somewhere, possibly left behind during the hour of joy, maybe hiding somewhere
And there's STILL more. Picky piggy is another one to not scream, mentioning her friends, specifically on what animal they are. These animals are a elephant, a chicken, and a unicorn.
But crafty corn isn't dead either. When you go to chapter one their directions on how to escape huggy in a red color, and in her cut out, she seems to be in a argument about sharing a color of her crayons, being red.
And I know you might be thinking "oh static, she screamed in her cutout also" and your right, if it weren't for if you hit it one more time, you get a line showing she's not dead at all saying "their we go".
But like I said before the screams at the end or somewhere in their cardboard cut outs, could be them not dying but instead losing their mind, like how they went insane in the cartoon.
And that's another reason why picky piggy might be the next big bad in poppy playtime. She mentions that she's "still hungry" and how she asks "want to be friends" in a bone chilling way, possibly implying that she might be willing to eat anything. Including us
Plus we don't know if she wad talking about the bigger ones in the first place. She could be talking about the little versions as dog day says "their are millions of eyes watching" aka the little smiling critters
So their you have it, a theory with enough evidence to show the smiling critters might be alive, besides catnap, and possibly dog day.
Plus the wiki says for most of the smiling critters "Presumed Deceased" instead of "Deceased" like catnap says

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Sat lonely on the rooftop of your apartments building, music filled your ears, earphones tangled, goosebumps graced your skin from the cold breeze. It was a sad life, no friends, bad relationship with your mum who you lived with, mentally ill, the only thing giving you life at the moment was your dog, Sorren.
Thinking about going back down, lying in bed and watching Netflix or Disney+ was rudely interrupted by a person in red and blue swinging onto the roof.
Oh, spider man.
Thinking he was probably just here to take a break you stayed silent.
"Hey," a weak but friendly voice hesitantly said, voice cracking slightly.
You turned to look at him, unsure if he was talking to you, but realised of course there was no one else he could be talking to.
"Hi," You awkwardly smile, eyes darting from him to the ground.
Reaching for your phone resting on the concrete ground, you turn the volume down slightly, if he tries to talk to you again.
He points to the ground with his finger in a questioning manner, asking if it's okay to sit and you nod. Once sat, you two just stare at the city in front of you, in silence for at least five minutes.
"What're you listening to?" He questions,
"Uh well my Playlist is on shuffle and a song just finished, lemme check what's playing now."
Your phone lights up revealing your home screen and song that is about to start.
"Transgender by Crystal castles."
"Oh, I haven't heard of that." He pauses, "I'll have to listen to it now." Even with the mask you can tell he seems to be smiling,
"You can now if you'd like, I'm not sure what music you listen to so you may not like it,"
you regret saying anything at all, feeling stupid.
"Yeah sure!"
"I'll take most of my mask off but leave it covering my face,"
"I can just take the earphones out-"
"No no, I like them, it makes music better."
You smile and hand him one half of them, anxiety fills you a little, a lot of people haven't liked your music taste, you wish he'd come when you were listening to a playlist with other songs you know other people like, but this was the Playlist you listen to when sad or feeling empty.
With a sigh you relax a little, it's just music. But then you remember it's spider man and it comes back, you have just been talking to spider man. It makes you feel sick.
He probably thinks you're weird, and-
"Huh," he says, and you turn your head to look at him,
"It's not what I would usually listen to but it's cool."
"What music do you listen to?"
"Have you heard of One direction?" He seems to sheepishly grin,
Excitement takes over your anxiety. One Direction was your childhood, you still listen to it mainly for the nostalgia, but it's just great music.
"Yeah?" He says seeing the look on your face,
You nod with a smile, "who hasn't?"
Unlocking your phone, spotify appears,
"Which one?" You look to him,
"Kiss you?"
You turn your head back to your phone, typing and then playing it.
The familiar music starts playing and happiness causes a little grin on your face,
Oh I just wanna take you anywhere you like we could could go out any day any night
Spider man begins humming along to it, suddenly you feel comfortable around him, this is honestly the first time you've been happy around anyone but yourself for a while.
His head bounces to the song and you fight the urge to sing along.
"Do you think I should take the earphones out for this song?"
"Yeah,"
You pull it out of your phone and the music gets a little louder, setting the earphones aside you turn the volume up,
So tell me girl if every time we touch, you get this kind of rush, lemme say yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah if you don't wanna take it slow and you just wanna take me home
He starts singing to it and you laugh,
"Hey!"
"I'm not laughing at your singing," you grin,
"And let me kiss you!" You sing, probably regretting it as you lie in bed tonight.
For the rest of the song you just hum along, having fun for the first time in a long time. And with spider man of all people.
Just as one thing starts playing sirens sound somewhere nearby,
"Aw man," he says
"This was really really fun, but I gotta go," He pulls the rest of his mask over the back of his head,
"Bye spidey,"
He smiles at the nickname under his mask, then shoots a web to a building, swinging from that to another.
You're left by yourself again, Sighing you get up, stare at the city for a second and start walking back down to your apartment, earphones now back and playing the rest of 1D's songs until you get there.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Sorren's tail starts wagging as you walk into your bedroom, his head still lying on his paws, the room was dark, the moon and city lights lighting it up enough to see, a large window taking up basically the whole wall was placed on the right side, your double bed with comfy blankets placed in the same corner.
Sitting on the bed sorren shuffles so his head can be on your lap, your laptop's screen was still illuminated from before you left, after a large sigh you paid attention to sorren.
"Who's a good boy, did you miss me? Hm?"
He shuffles around excitedly while staying in the same spot, you rub the sides of his head a little roughly but not hurting him. He was no small dog but he loved taking up as much space on your bed as he could.
The lights were beautiful in the city as you stared at it through your window, sorren had fallen asleep in the time you sat on your bed doing nothing. It was well past twelve, you should go to sleep, a buzz broke your empty thoughts and your phone turned off as it went flat. Yet another reason to go to sleep, so in doing so the day came much quicker than you'd like.
The sun shone on you, squinting your eyes open, the dread of the day filled you, all that had to be done was school and grocery shopping, not that bad, but it was hard enough getting out of bed.
Sorren realised you had woken up and started whining from happiness, tail wagging at an alarming rate and licking around his snout as he made his way up the bed to you, a grin grew on your face as you welcomed him.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Arriving at school the weather had turned into clouds and light rain, the best kind. Immediate dread came as you saw all of the students around, social anxiety was not fun, you stuff your hands into your pockets and your demeanour is slouched, eyes not meeting anyone.
Your head filled with thoughts of judgement, you tried to distract yourself with the thought of sorren and how you would see him at the end of the day. Heart racing you walked past people.
A particular person seemed to be staring at you, he had curly brown hair and brown eyes, breathing became difficult and sorren was no longer enough to make you feel better.
"Hi," the boy said as you walked past him,
"Hi." You tried your best to smile.
Once sat in your seat for class you calmed down a little, leg bouncing as the teacher began to speak.
After a while he asked if anyone could answer the question, you thought you knew the answer but feared it was wrong so didn't say anything, someone else said the answer and was right, you were also right and annoyed for not speaking up.
Mind drifting you accidently zone out for the most of class, and before you knew it the time for lunch had come. Everyone walked out including you to the cafeteria.
Upon arriving you got food and saw a table with only one other person sitting there, you knew she was rather quiet so figured it was perfect.
"Is it okay if I sit here?"
She looked up from her phone,
"Go for it."
With that being said you sat down, grabbing a book from your bag, with horror you saw the cover had been bent in half from the position it must have been in the bag. Bending it back the other way it helped but still a crease line and stuck out a bit.
"Hey,"
The boy that stared at you earlier was now standing next to you,
"Hello,"
"Is it okay if I sit with you?"
A flash of panic ran through you but you told yourself to stop overreacting,
"Yeah sure."
He smiled in return,
"I'm Peter,"
He said once sat down, "I'm Y/n," you said and looked back down to your book,
"Aw no its bent huh," you looked to him not used to people saying more than five words to you, "Yeah, I should've placed it more carefully in my bag,"
"Is it a good book?" He continues,
You look up again, this time just with your eyes, "Mhm."
"What's it about?" He was trying to hold a conversation with you, though he realised it wasn't quite as easy as last night on the rooftop, when he saw you today he recognised you and was excited you were in the same school as him.
"It's kinda hard to explain." You didn't leave much room for the conversation to continue, you don't really mean to but it always happens, you never know what to say.
"Okay." He smiled, he really wanted to get to know you but could see maybe now wasn't the best time, so he would try again later.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Once school finished you walked to the supermarket, it was a bit of a walk but you didn't mind.
You opened notes and checked the grocery list, the stand of baskets was next to the entry so you grabbed one and walked into the vegetables area, which was colder than expected so you pulled your hoodie over your head.
In spotting lettuce it got placed into the basket, carrots were more expensive that you'd like but you put them into the basket as well. Walking down the cereal aisle you got cornflakes and in the refrigerator got milk.
After a while everything you needed was in the basket but deciding you wanted some snacks you walked to the aisle, a familiar person was already in the snack section, Peter.
Stopping where candy was you looked at the options, probably going to be there for a while considering the indecisive person you were.
Peter noticed you and smiled, "Hi,"
"Oh hi," you smiled back, you picked up a bag of maltesers, still wanting one other thing,
"Oh you're so right," he said before getting maltesers as well, you exhaled with your nose and smiled as a reply while still looking,
He then got some gummy snakes, "Hey do wanna hang out and eat candy?" He knew you'd most likely say no and was kinda scared for your reply, who asks a stranger to eat candy with them? He awkwardly smiles and awaits your answer.
You didn't really know what to do, in all honesty the urge to say yes was overtaking saying no, it would be so awkward though, you haven't hung out with anyone in so long.
"Yeah uh sure,"
He smiled happily, and you decided to just quickly grab some chips, you two walked down the aisle to the checkout together.
You were actually really excited to be hanging out with someone, he seemed really nice too, but you couldn't ignore your anxiety either.
You thought about asking to hang out at your apartment but felt stupid because who invites a stranger to hang out there?
It ended up being the park where you ate candy and talked, well talked as best you could, but you had to admit you really enjoyed it and was excited the whole time, always worrying about what to say or do, but he was really nice and it made you feel better.
You wondered whether you just made a friend.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
By the end of the day you piled the groceries on the bench and took your unfinished snacks to your bedroom, where sorren happily awaited you, your mum was out, so you played with him in the lounge.
Once you were tired out you decided to go to the roof again, only this time you weren't all that sad. Bringing your tote bag with the remaining chips and candy turned out to be a good idea, because spiderman was once again on the rooftop ten minutes after you got there.
The truth is he saw you and wanted to spend more time with you, he thought you were really cool.
"Well hello there," you smiled, "Hi,"
"Can I sit?"
"Mhm."
You seemed a lot more relaxed than last time. "Want any snacks?" You offered, "what have you got?"
You got the chips and maltesers, "God, I love maltesers,"
"Glad to be of service."
He lifted his mask just above his mouth, by now you were looking at the tall buildings around you, he pulled his mask back down.
"Thanks." You smiled a little in response,
"Wanna ask some random questions for fun?" You felt a little childish, but it's a good way to get to know someone.
"Sure, just as long as you don't try ask who I am," he bumps his shoulder into yours,
"Okay. I know this is the most basic question I could ask but it has to be done. What's your favourite colour?"
"Hm," he contemplates,
"Red."
"How did I guess?" He smiles under the mask, "you?"
"It's gotta be dark green, though I love so many more."
You cross your legs, "Favourite movie?" He asks.
This goes on for quite some time before he has to leave. You haven't felt this happy for quite a while, both Peter and Spiderman were so easy to like, you just worry if they actually like you.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Four months went by, Peter and you became quite good friends, you didn't see spiderman that often but most times when you were on the rooftop he would be there a while later.
Anxiety still was a problem wherever you went but Peter made you feel a lot better when he was around, you were supposed to go to his house after school for a movie night, your biggest worry of that is if he picks a terrible movie, you didn't mind star wars but the old ones were pretty boring.
Upon meeting his aunt May you realised she was really nice, and you wouldn't be lying if you said you had a tiny crush that you annoy Peter with on purpose all the time.
School was over and done with, now getting prepared to go to Peter's your alarm went off telling you it was five p.m,
"Gonna miss you" sorren gets a good belly rub before you go. "See you soon puppy."
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
You knock on the door and it opens almost instantly, Peter stands there with a grin on his face, "Hi"
"Hey," you walk in, "Hi May,"
She smiles, "Hi Y/n."
Peter drags you to the kitchen to make popcorn, you lean against the bench while waiting for the microwave,
"Wait, is that a new Lego set?" It was sitting on the table, "Yeah me and Ned built it yesterday."
You walk over to it, "Oh my gosh nice, you think you could stand building one with me?"
"Yes." Peter said a little too quickly and eagerly, making you laugh, the microwave beeped and he got the popcorn, putting it in a bowl and carrying it to the couch. You followed with the candy, putting it between you two on the couch.
"What movie have you got in mind?" You ask,
"I always choose them, you can tonight."
"Wait really? Hah nice."
You use the remote to look through disney+, "d'you want Pixar or Disney?" You question, but in your mind you've already made the decision.
"Pixar?" He looks to you, "good answer."
Ten minutes later you chose finding nemo, not having watched it in a long time you really enjoyed it, the popcorn was gone in the first twenty minutes. After eating half of the candy you both got comfortable, Peter was lying half back on the couch, his back in the corner of it, and you lay down on him slightly.
Sadly the movie ended, you didn't want to leave but even though you knew your relationship with your mum was terrible she would want you home very soon. Peter didn't want you to leave either,
"Hey d'you wanna stay the night? Like a sleepover?" He was hopeful, "thank you but I better go home,"
"Okay, well I'll see you tomorrow?"
"It's Saturday tomorrow Pete," his heart burst at the nickname and he struggled not to smile, "Oh right, uhm well would it be okay if I came over?"
"You know I'd love that but she'll be home all day."
"Okayy,"
You walk to pick up your bag, Peter quickly makes his way over to the door and gives you a hug before you leave. The feeling of happiness leaves you giddy, and so happy he's your friend.
May was in her room so you didn't say bye, but much to your disappointment you did to Peter,
"Bye I'll see you later okay?"
"Okay Bye." He smiled as you walked out the door.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
The day drifted away while you stayed in bed, you messaged Peter a little and watched a movie for a bit, but as the day dragged on into 5pm you grew to be really hungry.
Telling Peter of your starvation he was horrified, telling you to go eat, and you did. Peeling the blankets back and standing made you a bit lightheaded for a second.
In the kitchen pasta was boiling in a pot and you grated cheese, Sorren sitting right beside you, tail wagging and looking hopeful. Cheese melted and other ingredients added, the pasta was complete and put into a bowl.
The sun set while you sat at the table eating until you were very full, a blue and red suited superhero swung across some buildings as you chewed your last mouthful.
Sorren made a loud sigh curling up on his bed, you rinsed your bowl and put it into the dishwasher.
After doing nothing all day you were exhausted and collapsed on your bed, the thought of hanging out with Peter tomorrow excited you, a little rush of happiness and excitement made you smile.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Your shoe fought with you as you struggled to put it on, your beloved converse betrayed you like this almost every time. Tying them into a double knot you were ready to go, Sorren had gone with your mum to a dog park somewhere so he wasn't there desperate to go with you.
You took the elevator down the building, beginning your walk to meet Peter once you got to the bottom, a cool breeze felt nice at first until you got a little cold and started to have an earache.
Peter stood in front of a park bench, near the supermarket where you planned to buy food and go to the park again.
"Hey," he smiled widely once he saw you,
"Hi," you smiled back,
"Ready to go in?"
"Yeah." The two of you walked together,
"Peter I'm so tired," you drawled, "I've been walking for ages,"
He got behind you to push your back making you laugh, once you were outside the doors you stumbled to make him stop,
"Okay okay thank you."
The automatic doors opened, it was cooler inside, and also very busy, grabbing your phone from your back pocket the time said 12:04, you panicked a little, that was one of the busiest times you could be here, there were so many people.
Peter noticed your quiet panic and held your hand, the gesture made you feel better, the two of you walked to get snacks, hand in hand.
"Noo there are kids on the swings," you said once at the park, "Pete go push them off,"
"What? No way that's so mean!"
"I wasn't being serious." You mumbled,
"I know." He pushed his shoulder into yours, smiling.
You ate some of the food you bought and talked, the kids got off of the swings, and that didn't go unnoticed by you,
"Quick now's our chance!" You run towards the swings, Peter grabs the food and runs with you.
"Hey Pete, could you please push me?" You could swing yourself but it's fun when other people push you.
"How high?"
"Really high,"
You felt butterflies in your stomach as you went higher, you couldn't control your laughter, the butterflies got too much for you,
"Okay wait wait wait I wanna stop," you laugh but panic a little, once you slowed down Peter grabbed your waist until you stopped completely, and even though you weren't high in the air anymore you got butterflies again.
Peter then got on the other swing, looking at you expectantly, innocence on his face,
"You want me to push you, huh?"
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Another five months went by, you were sitting at the table with Peter and May eating Chinese at their house.
"It's like Sorren is obsessed with Peter or something," you laugh, Peter had finally come to your apartment and met him.
"He almost crushed me!"
"Exactly, he loves you."
May smiled and got up, collecting the rubbish to put into the bin,
"Alright my little munchkins I'm off to bed, gotta be in early, don't stay up too late."
You cringed at the word munchkins, she did it on purpose of course.
"Night Aunt May."
"Night May."
"Wanna maybe stay the night?" Peter's eyes glistened with hope,
"Of course I would,"
"Okay uhm I have some pyjamas you can use,"
"Cool i'll get changed," you smile standing up and messing with the top of his hair.
Once changed you collapsed onto his bed, you used to sleep on the spare mattress but now it's normal just to share the bed.
The two of you continued to talk until 12am, laughing quietly in the light from the lamp in his bedside table,
you could feel his gentle breath on your face, minty from brushing his teeth earlier. You heated up a little realising how close your faces were, you couldn't deny the crush you'd developed on your best friend though you tried to the best of your ability.
He noticed you'd quietened down, a very light redness on your cheeks, this made him go a little red now also realising your closeness. His eyes glanced towards your lips involuntarily, you did as well.
He leaned in slightly, lips ghosting over yours.
You leaned in ever so slightly, ending in a kiss, he exhaled through his nose.
An alarm broke the two of you apart with a jolt, the alarm was to let the both of you know it was time to sleep.
You cleared your throat as he turned it off, not knowing what to do you quickly said "uhm I'm just gonna go sleep on the couch,"
"Wait-"
"We'll talk in the morning!" You walked out with your pillow, there were already blankets on the couch.
Morning came, and your phone woke you, your mum was calling and in your sleepiness you still remembered you didn't ask for permission to stay the night.
You squint your eyes to see the time, 6:07am.
"Hello?" You croak out groggily,
"Where are you?"
"I stayed at Peters,"
She obviously wasn't that happy but only said,
"It's a school day, come home right now and get ready please."
She hung up,
Oh shit, it is a school day
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Peter woke up later, he got up rubbing his eyes and walked to the couch, you weren't there.
He checked his phone and saw you messaged saying sorry you had to leave.
You made your way to school as fast as possible, with only five minutes to spare.
By lunch you were pretty tired, you shut your locker and saw Peter down the hall slightly shutting his as well, when he noticed you he began walking towards you.
Remembering about last you were a little awkward,
"Hi," He smiled making you a little more at ease,
"Hey Parker,"
"Listen I know now's not the best time but I cannot focus, so can we please talk?"
"Alright mister." You smile,
Peter looks around, he takes your hand and leads you to a storage closet.
"Really?"
"What?"
"A storage closet?" You bite back smile,
"I thought it might be nice to have a little privacy, sorry it doesn't meet your standards." He teases,
"Listen about the uhm, kiss,"
Anxiety swirled in your stomach but you calmed down, it's Peter, it's fine.
"I'm so sorry I should have asked! Maybe you didn't even want to and I was dumb and stupid and-"
"Wait wait no it's okay I uhm, I wanted to I promise I just, I don't know I really like you and was scared you regretted it and-"
"You like me?" You looked up at him, he had love and adoration in his eyes,
"yeah," You shyly smiled,
"I love you so much," he whispered, your mouth fell open slightly
"oh my god did I really just say that out loud,"
"Yeah, you did Pete," you laughed
"Would it be okay to kiss you right now?"
"Hm, yeah that checks out with me."
He leaned in almost instantly, kissing you, and after a minute the bell rang,
You broke the kiss, "Gotta go,"
"Noo," he leaned back in, his lips moving slowly against yours, "stay in the dark and dingy closet with me." He mumbled against your mouth, and you continued for a minute.
"Excuse me, isn't it a bit weird to be making out with my best friend?"
"Hm, no, I think it's pretty good actually." He mumbled against your lips, the two of you didn't stop until you heard the second bell a good five minutes later, "Pete we've really got to go now,"
He rested his forehead against yours, eyes suddenly lighting up,
"You know, now that I think about it maybe it is a little weird to do this with your best friend,"
You looked at him,
"Would it be less weird if it was your boyfriend?"
"Hm, you might be onto something,"
"Hey y/n?"
"Yes Peter?"
"Do you maybe wanna go on a date?"
"Sounds pretty nice to me." You smile.
In class you feel giddy, you can't really believe what just happened, and neither can Peter, but he really did love you.
You met him as spiderman
And You fell in love with him as Peter

“ maybe i’ll stay here, stare at you all night. “ “ i'd appreciate it if you don't. “ = MASSIVE WILLEX VIBES.
All his life, Alex was told he had to adapt-get used to things. don't like broccoli? Too bad, it's what we're eating with supper and you can't get up until it's all gone. Not a fan of church camp? Well that's unfortunate because you're still spending all of July at Camp Enlightenment hearing about the wonders of Jesus.
So Alex adapted, made himself accept things just to get by. Like powering through his anxiety as best he could when his parents refused to get him meds. Drumming helped with that, but it wasn't until he started seeing a therapist who got him some Ativan in college that Alex knew what it was like to live.
He made himself small, invisible, straight until he couldn't keep it in any more. And found out no matter that he hadn't changed really, this new part of him made his parents incapable of loving him. So Alex refused to adapt, refused to take it back, and left home.
But this? This is something Alex doesn't know how he can adapt to.
"What do you mean you're a vampire?" he hisses at Willie during one of the dates.
"I meant what I said," Willie said with a shrug. "I got bit back in the eighties. Stupid mistake really, trusted this guy who promised me the ability to skate forever."
"But-but I've seen you out in the sunlight!" Alex protested.
"Oh yeah, that's a myth," Willie replied. "I mean I burn like super easy now, but SPF 100 exists for a reason."
"And the blood sucking?"
"Only with consent, and never enough to turn someone," Willie said. "I usually just go to this vamp friendly butcher instead. I can eat regular food too. Just no garlic obviously, gives me wicked hives."
Alex spends a lot of time that day learning all about vampires. Yes, the stake through the heart thing is true, but that would kill anyone to be fair. Willie does have a reflection, but is also allergic to silver in the worst way. He doesn't have a coffin, but he does tend to sleep later in the day. But he also works at a club for vampires at night, so the nocturnal thing makes sense.
Alex however, is not nocturnal, and by the end of it, is yawning. They'd gone back to his place hours ago. Willie had laughed at the inaccuracies in a vampire movie he found while they shared popcorn and soda. A completely normal night, if not for how WIllie popped his fangs out when Alex asked and just... never sucked them back in.
He yawned again. "Okay, time for me to hit the hay. See you tomorrow?"
"I dunno, maybe I'll stay here, stare at you all night," Willie joked.
"I'd appreciate it if you didn't," Alex said wryly.
"So no to snuggles then?"
"Not if they are gonna be creepy Edward Cullen snuggles, no."
Willie barked out a laugh. "Fair enough." He pulled Alex in for a kiss, sweet and tender. "But if you change your mind... well you know how to find me."
Alex snorted. "Yeah, I'll call if I change my mind about being stared at all night, sure."
"Sweet dreams Alex."
Alex nodded and waved as Willie took off. He curled into bed, and almost immediately fell asleep, his dreams full of blood red imagery, Willie in a fancy cape, and some fun in a velvet lined coffin.
It was a weird dream.
And when he wakes up, it's still dark outside, Alex feels... lonely. Restless. So he pulls out his phone.
'The offer for snuggles still open?'
Willie texts back, 'On my way spider monkey.'
Alex grumbles at that, and really hopes that nickname doesn't stick. He had just gotten Willie to stop calling him hot dog after the incident on their first date. But he still smiles when Willie arrives a few moments later, spooning him back to sleep.
And he's still there in the morning, snoring softly in Alex's ear, though the blackout curtains are decidedly more closed than they were th night prior. Alex grins and snuggles further into Willie's hold, wondering what small sacrifices he could make to wake up like this every morning.
He turns and looks at Willie, thumbing over his brow, his cheekbones, the plush fill of his lips. Only to have Willie crack open an eye at him, smiling. "Creeper."
"You love it."
Willie pulled him in for a deep kiss, neither of them caring about morning breath, panting as they pulled back. "Yeah, I really do."

Less than Holy
I finally went and did it. After more than two years I went and wrote a fanfiction. This is basically a Fix-It - Everyone lives/nobody dies, not even Pike the dog or Erin’s baby. There are also no vampi- I mean angels and Monsignor Pruitt is actually in a hospital on the mainland and not father Paul Hill at all.
Tumblr media
Less than Holy - 7.6K
Of all the people you would expect to fall for, the priest was the absolute last one of them.
You were a promising young writer, already having published a few books, the last one being a bestseller in the US. And while your name could be seen in many bookshops around English speaking countries and some foreign ones, your face was a mystery to the public. Which suited you, really. Your favorite genre to write was supernatural horror. Ever since you were a little girl, there was just something thrilling about darkness and what may lurk within. You grew up passionately reading up on Ed and Lorraine Warren's supernatural cases, fell asleep to the classic stories by Mary Shelley and Sheridan Le Fanu, and watched the newest flicks in cinemas with bated breath and a content feeling.
That's how you ended up on Crockett Island. Originally, you were only staying there in order to write your latest book; it was a story about a small, lonely fishing town, just like this one. Strange, horrifying monsters from deep waters would start targeting poor unsuspecting people from the island, and pull them down from their boats and dinghies and into the water below. The only people who could stop it were a couple of teens. You were really trying to appeal to a younger audience too with this book. In order to better capture the atmosphere and characters in your story, you decided to find a place like the one in your book where you could stay while working on it - and there it was.
Crockett Island.
Tiny. Quiet. Only several dozen people lived there and everyone was special in their own way. At first, you were renting a small house. The people who used to live there had moved to the mainland some time prior; as did many others after the faithful spill some years ago. That's how you actually found out about Crockett. An ad in a local newspaper on the mainland later, and this really nice couple was offering you their house on Crockett for a very reasonable rent.
The first few months were strange. Some citizens of Crockett observed you with distrust and apprehension, others were way more curious and friendly. Annie Flynn was among the latter group. Not two days after your arrival were you sitting in the Flynn family home, sharing dinner with their family of three. Four, said Annie. Her oldest son was currently off island, she said. It would take you some more time to find out that he's currently serving a sentence for manslaughter while DUI. You weren't one to judge. God knows you too participated in some wild parties and made a lot of bad decisions. Not ones quite so serious, true, but that didn't matter to you. You've grown quite close to the Flynn family over time. Also to the Scarboroughs, the Gunnings and the new sheriff and his son.
Sheriff Hassan, just like you, was a newcomer to the island, and despite having come before you did, he seemed to have it even harder because of his religious beliefs. It took you no time at all to figure out that the folk on Crockett Island were quite religious and many of them attended the Sunday mass in the church of St. Patrick. Having not grown up in a religious household, everything you knew about religions was from what you've studied yourself, and while you didn't necessarily affiliate yourself with any of them, you did believe in some kind of higher power.
Annie Flynn once invited you to tag along for the Sunday mass and you had agreed. The parish priest, Monsignor John Pruitt, was an older gentleman. His years were visibly catching up to him, and it was rather visible even to the untrained eye. While he was obviously absolutely devoted to his faith and had great knowledge of the holy book, his mind seemed to be wandering elsewhere from time to time. Even so, you enjoyed listening to his sermon, and it was obvious that he was well beloved by his flock. Unfortunately, this is where you finally came face to face with one not so lovely citizen of Crockett Island.
Miss Beverly Keane. Just the look she gave you as she noticed you among the crowd in front of the church. "So, you must be the outsider, then," she began, a thin, tense smile on her lips, but not within her eyes, "Annie Flynn's told me about you, of course. However, pardon me, if I'm mistaken, but you've been here for a few weeks now haven't you? This is the first time I see you here." You didn't like her expression one bit. Smug and self-righteous, as if she caught you in a lie. You suddenly felt like you've done something bad, and she was about to mock you for it and threaten to tell your parents. A stupid thought, really, but she did make you feel this way. "I'm not exactly a catholic. I'm not exactly anything either," you admitted honestly. You had no reason to lie. "But I'm open minded and I did read the Bible. I wanted to hear the sermon and also figured that this church," you motioned with your left hand, "is kind of the centre point for the island, isn't it. Since I'll be staying for a while, I thought I could perhaps meet the folk around here." The look on her face told you she wanted to retort with something, but she only took on the previous tense smile and said the important thing is that you're here now.
And then Erin came.
Following old Mrs. Greene's (whom you didn't know very well) passing, her daughter Erin, who's been living off the island for years now, came to take care of her mother's funeral and ultimately decided to stay. You actually met her on the ferry as you were coming back from a trip on the mainland. You looked at her and she looked at you and you finally recognised you didn't recognise each other at all. And you started talking.
Since then, you stopped counting your days on the island. Your book was long since finished and published, yet you stayed. The family whose house you've been renting contacted you about possibly buying in from them, for a fair price. And you said yes. Your family offered to have the rest of your possessions delivered to Crockett. And you said yes. Erin asked you to come with her to every Sunday mass. And you said yes. For some reason, this small, sparsely populated town has started to feel like home. Things weren't perfect, but they were fine. Life was slow and quiet. The islanders warmed up to you, little by little, until you were one of their own. Their neighbour. And you found you could no longer imagine waking up and not smelling the crisp salty sea air. And life was fine.
---
"Sunday's tomorrow," said Erin off-handedly, folding some laundry on her dining table. You murmured in agreement, mostly just paying attention to the words you wrote on your laptop, and the mug of tea in your hand. It's become so normal. You and Erin would be at your or her place, talking, playing games, watching films, or just doing your own activities in each other's presence. "Monsignor Pruitt will be back," offered Erin again. You raised your eyes from the screen: "He made it back safe, then?" That made Erin pause. "Actually," she breathed in, "I don't know. Nobody's seen him yet, really. And, I mean, Bev's been putting welcome messages on the church side, and she gave him instructions and what not...Yeah, he'll be back."
You weren't quite so sure. The old man seemed rather confused when you first came. Months later, his health only worsened. You were in doubt that the trip to holy lands was the right call. While still not outright religious, you have grown fond of the monsignor, just as you have grown fond of everyone else, and you were rather worried about him the entire duration of his expedition.
The next day, you sat with Erin in your usual pew at Saint Patrick's. You saw her as she smiled at a boy whom you haven't seen before, sitting in a pew with Annie and Ed Flynn, but before you could ask her about him, the mass had begun. The churchgoers rose and opened their hymnals. You sang with them. Then, there was a strange moment. It seemed to you that some of the people's singing hitched, before returning to normal, while others stopped singing all together. You turned your head in curiosity and found yourself momentarily mute as well. Walking in a golden chasuble behind Warren Flynn and a boy named Ooker wasn't the old Monsignor Pruitt. Instead there was a total stranger. Tall and lean, with thick, wavy jet black hair, thick eyebrows, large dark eyes and, what you thought were, pretty lips. He too sang and his voice, rich and soulful, mesmerised you.
The stranger bowed down before the altar and took his stand behind it, facing his flock. You sat down. He introduced himself as Father Paul Hill and explained that Monsignor John Pruitt has fallen ill on his trip and won't be returning for the time being. He begins his sermon. You had quite enjoyed going to mass before, despite your near-atheism, and you liked the hymns and you liked hearing Monsignor Pruitt talk. But when Paul started talking, it felt like a fire had suddenly settled within your core. No, not a fire, a light. A gentle light emanating a pleasant warmth, definitely not a scorching, destructive fire. Monsignor Pruitt was devoted, and so was Father Paul, but Paul's young energy, and his passion for the word of god made Sunday mass seem like a performance, like an unreachable piece of art. You sat there, drinking in his every word and found yourself wanting to believe them. Wanting to believe him. Once everyone started getting up and lining up for communion, you sat behind, like you always did. Only this time, you weren't alone. The boy you saw earlier still sat in his pew as well. When everyone received their wafer and a sip of wine, they slowly started to stream out of the church. You were still so flabbergasted and amazed by Father Paul's sermon, you were actually one of the last ones to leave. From the church doors you saw Erin wink at you before she walked slowly away with the boy from earlier.
Before you could make your way home too however, a figure stepped in front of you. "You must be (F/N) (L/N). Monsignor Pruitt mentioned you do not take communion," said Father Paul warmly.  You had to look up at him a bit, as he really was a tall man. There was a friendly smile on his face and his eyes were kind and inviting. So very unlike Bev Keane's upon your first interaction with her. You gazed into the priest's dark orbs and felt like you've known him your entire life, and like he knew you too. You felt instantly at ease, instantly trusting. "You see, I'm not a catholic. Not really. I'm not even baptised. It wouldn't be right." Father Paul smiles some more and nods in understanding. "Well, never too late to become one," you chuckle, "so I can believe you'll be honest with me and tell me what you, as a 'non-catholic' thought of my sermon?" The way he looks at you, keeping eye contact, with an air of confidence, but with no smugness or conceit, it makes you nearly instantly fond of him. You think for a moment, whether you should praise him for his skill, or play it cool and nonchalant. As always, you decided that honesty is key. "I was amazed," you said seriously, reciprocating his eye contact, "to be honest, I think many people genuinely believe in God thanks to their pastor. And you, um," you felt yourself blushing a bit and instinctively cast your eyes down, "I think you're very convincing." His smile faltered for the tiniest of moments and a strange look appeared in his eyes, before he grinned at you once more, and this time it was positively radiant, like a while of sunshine on a rainy day. "Convinced you, then?" he asks, his voice teasing, nearly mischievous. You couldn't keep yourself from smiling too, slightly coyly: "Oh, I don't know. I'll see next Sunday." You bid your farewell to Father Paul and went home. You'd deny it to anyone, but there was a bit of a pep in your step.

The Crock Pot Luck. Despite the town's small population, the spring festival was really something else.
It was Ash Wednesday and Erin made you get your blessing and a sooty cross from Father Paul. You stood before him, closer than before and with your neck craned up more. Standing so close, you admired just how handsome he is, all soft lines and smouldering eyes. The corners of his lips twitched when he saw you. "Remember, (F/N), you are dust, and to dust you shall return" he spoke softly as he dipped his thumb into a bowl in his other hand which contained the ashes. He then brought his right hand up and very gently drew a cross on your forehead: "Bless you, my child."
So now you were sitting with Erin at a bench, listening to the live music, chatting amicably and people-watching. Since Erin was pregnant, she was nursing a lemonade with a paper straw and you treated yourself to a glass of wine you traded for your drink ticket. It was sunny and very mild for the beginning of spring, and you already took your jacket off and were only sitting in a light jumper. Erin was looking to the side of you. You gazed in the same direction and saw Father Paul and Riley Flynn talking on a bench near the edge of the festival. Erin's told you all about Riley after the first mass with Father Paul and actually introduced you to him. He was a nice guy, obviously guilt-ridden with what he's done and a bit unwell. However, it seemed that spending time in Erin's company is doing him good. "You should talk to him," you offered to Erin. She lifted her eyebrows questioningly. "You were, like, childhood sweethearts, weren't you. I mean, I can't tell you what to do, but I'm just saying it's obvious he still fancies you." She snorted and shook her head at you. After a moment she sighed and got up: "Well, since neither of us is drinking, I think I'm gonna treat him to a coffee then." You just winked at her and remained sitting. A short while later, the brown haired girl had a cup of coffee in each hand and was on her way to Riley and Father Paul.
You meanwhile returned to people watching. You took in the kids playing bean bag toss nearby and the good Doctor Gunning talking quietly to a lovely woman you hadn't seen before. Some people were dancing in front of the podium. "Is this seat free?" sounded behind you. You didn't even need to turn around, having recognised the priest's voice immediately. Instead you just smiled into your empty glass: "But of course, father, be my guest." And so he did. You grinned at him and noticed he brought two glasses of wine with him. Upon your questioning look, he offered: "I thought it an appropriate apology, seeing as I have pulled you out of your thoughts." He slid one of the glasses your way. As your own wine had long since disappeared, you gracefully accepted. The next few minutes you spent in friendly, comfortable silence, looking around, enjoying the day.
Out of the corner of your eye you saw Joe Collie. He was, put mildly, not exactly in favour of the townspeople. Erin's told you about the hunting accident that put poor Leeza Scarborough in a wheelchair most likely for the rest of her life. You personally only talked to Joe a few times. He was nearly always already drunk, or just woke up after a night of drinking. While irresponsible and a slave to his addiction, the man genuinely didn't seem to a have malicious or cruel bone in his body. He went everywhere with his pupper, Pike. Pike was a sweet dog, very large, but amazingly cuddly and friendly, you slipped some treats his way every once in a while. Now it seemed though that somebody else was intent on feeding the mutt. Beverly Keane laid down a hot dog in front of him and walked away rather swiftly. You grew anxious. If there was a person on this island who hated this dog, it was Bev Keane and while not happy about the thought, you had serious doubts that the hot dog was some sort of peace offering. Without a word you rose and half walked, half ran to Pike, snatching the food away before he could as much as lick it. Pike whined unhappily and barked at you, which made Joe Collie turn around to look. "Hey, hey! What the fuck gives?" he growled at you, undecided between defensive and aggressive. You looked at him, the hot dog in your hand just out of Pike's reach with Pike himself whining and looking at you pleadingly. "You should be more careful. Don't let your dog eat something he shouldn't," with that you turned around, tossed the hot dog into a rubbish bin and went back to your seat.
"What was that supposed to mean?" asked Father Paul once you sat down again. You took a sip of your wine and looked around anxiously. "It's just that-" you scratched your neck, "look, I could be very very wrong and I'm not accusing anyone of anything, but," deep breath, "I saw Bev give Pike a hot dog. And she hates Pike, she tried to get Sheriff Hassan to put him down, just for barking at her. And Erin saw her in school yesterday, in the supply cabinet, fiddling with an entire canistre of poison. I just, I'd rather be safe than sorry." You could feel your cheeks heating up in embarrassment and noticed several people staring at you. There were Erin and Riley, their faces questioning and curious, Joe Collie (who has thankfully brought Pike close to him since then) looked confused and apprehensive, and last but not least; Bev Keane, who looked sour and right now probably wishing you ate that hot dog instead. Father Paul cleared his throat to get your attention: "Well, I'm sure it was nothing...But nevertheless, it's very Christian of you to look out for your neighbours like this." You gave him a small smile which he mirrored with his own, before he began speaking again: "Anyway, about Christianity-" you quietly groaned and rolled your eyes, but kept on smiling and listening.
You and Father Paul had talked late into the evening. It had started as a friendly discussion about religion and Christianity, slowly progressed to getting to know each other and stories of your lives before coming to Crockett Island, before finally becoming a pleasant banter about everything and nothing. The band has long since abandoned the stage, people had packed up the tents and most of those few who remained were currently sitting around a bonfire, talking, singing, or just relaxing. Darkness has fallen and enveloped you and Father Paul like a comforting blanket. You could barely see his face, the only light sources being the bonfire some 60 feet away and a lone street light even farther. A nice feeling of fatigue has started to come over you and you barely stifled a yawn. Father Paul noticed and even in the dim light you could see the white of his teeth flash in a grin. "I can't see my watches, but I'm going to guess it's late," he said with an amused tone. You fished out your phone out of the pocket of your jacket, which you put back on when the temperature dropped with the oncoming night, and glanced at the screen. You immediately regretted it, as you had kept the brightness on 100% and felt like your retina was about to burn to ashes. "It's not even that late, to be honest," you said, trying to cover up another yawn fighting its way through you, "just after half past nine. But I didn't get much sleep yesterday, so I'm a bit tired." You put your phone back into your pocket. Father Hill stood up and reached out a hand to you. You looked at him questioningly. "I'll walk you home," he clarified. You've been living on Crocket Island for quite some time, walked the entire place (including the cat filled Uppards) many times and you were pretty sure you could find your way home blindfolded. Not to mention it's perfectly safe for a woman to walk home alone at night here.
And yet.
And yet you took the Father's offered hand and let him pull you to your feet. He then repositioned your hand to his right arm and started walking. "My, my, father, who knew priests were such gentlemen?" you teased him softly but let him walk you anyway. Truth be told, it felt nice to be in the centre of attention of such a handsome man. 'The handsome man is a priest' spoke a guilty voice in your head, but you managed to quiet it down. You weren't doing anything bad, therefore you had no reason to feel guilty. A friendly priest was simply escorting you home to make sure you're safe from the dangers of... um, stray cats, you supposed. "I'd simply hate for you to fall asleep somewhere on your way because I kept you so long." Or that, that works too, you thought to yourself and chuckled and he followed suit.
When you reached your front door, you let go of his arm to find your keys. You learnt that many people on the island don't lock their homes, even if they're asleep or not present, and while the safety of the island was one of the reasons you stayed, you still didn't feel comfortable just leaving your door unlocked. Finally you found your keys and opened the door. "Would you," you began, turning back around to face Paul, "would you like something, like a cup of tea, or a cocoa?" Father Paul smiled and you could see him better now since you were standing closer to a street lamp. "Are you not tired anymore?" he teased. "Oh, I am, a bit, but you're obviously not," you countered in the same tone, "so you can have a cuppa and go home afterwards and I'll just pass out on the couch." Father Paul laughed earnestly at that and it was one of the most beautiful sounds you've ever heard. One of the prettiest sights too. "You're very kind, and I'll surely take you up on that offer sometime, but tonight I'll leave you to get your beauty sleep," he said with that same kind and honest smile you were sure he probably got patented and turned to leave. Before he did though, he couldn't quite stop himself from one last retort: "I'll see you in mass on Sunday. Let's see about that convincing." Wink. He just winked at you. You couldn't help but giggle and roll your eyes: "Good night, father," you said cheekily as you retreated into your house and shut the door.
As you set about your evening routine, you couldn't stop thinking about him. True, your mind was on other things too, like Erin and Riley's rediscovered affection, poor Leeza in her wheelchair, and the (in your eyes) very real danger of Bev Keane almost killing Joe Collie's dog. But everytime your mind came back to him. You thought about his eyes, how they looked at every stage of the sunset and how the light in them seemed to shine even after the sun submerged itself below the horizon completely. And you thought about his voice, how it always slightly changed with the matter discussed, from serious and intense, to light and amused. And right before you drifted off to sleep you allowed yourself to think of the priest's pretty, kissable lips. Just for that tiny little moment.
---
You probably just became religious.
All you could do was gawk like a demented owl as Leeza Scarborough took a step after step towards Father Paul to get her communion. Your expression wasn't that different from other people in the church. Many had their mouths open in which would in any other situation be a hilarious way. Some people were tearing up. Some were praying hard. Leeza's parents, Wade and Dolly were ugly sobbing and covering their mouths. Leeza then turned around to face everyone. You've never seen anyone's face containing so many emotions at once. Shock and disbelief soon turned to a look of ecstasy, so wild and raw and unhinged, just looking at her you wanted to scream and laugh and cry in manic happiness. For the first time in your life, you folded your hands together, bent down slightly and started praying. You thanked God, thanked him for letting Leeza walk again, thanked him for showing the young girl his mercy and humbly asked that he keep her healthy. After your quiet 'Amen' you felt another hand enveloping yours. It was Erin. She took you hand in hers and held it tight, looked at you with tears in her eyes and without a word the two of you embraced hard. She then wiped her other hand over her face to clean off the few tears that escaped. The mass ended soon afterwards. The Scarboroughs thanked Father Paul profusely, before excusing themselves in order to visit Dr Gunning about their daughter's miraculous healing. Erin and Riley left together once more and many others walked away in groups, talking loudly and praying among themselves. Just like after the first mass with Father Paul, you were bewildered and stayed behind.
"If you don't believe in God after this, I'm not sure what else you want," sounded an acerbic voice from somewhere to the side. Turning your head, you saw Bev Keane. You hadn't spoken to her at all after Crock Pot Luck and when she tried to approach you, you hurriedly made yourself look busy or caught in a conversation with someone else. It wasn't strange for you to chat up Sheriff Hassan amicably for quite a while, but this one particular while was so long, even he noticed. After Bev got tired of waiting and left, you awkwardly explained your predicament and he immediately nodded his head in understanding. Right now, though, there was really nobody to save you from this woman, and you couldn't exactly manifest a hammer and nails out of thin air to tell her you were busy, what, reinforcing the church walls?
So you accepted your fate, stood up from the pew and went to face her straight on, feeling like a knight about to fight a dragon. She observed you coldly, like usual, but when you looked into her eyes, you realised something. She knew. She knew you saw her giving Pike the hot dog. And in that moment, you also knew that you were right to step in. "Oh, but I never said I didn't believe in God," you said softly, trying to appear as calm and polite as you could, "I just said I'm not Catholic, that I don't have a religion." That seemed to take the wind out of her sails, but she recovered quickly: "Well then, maybe you'll reconsider. You're not really local, so you wouldn't know, but religion is a big part of this community. You see, you come here every Sunday, accept blessings and get to experience God's miracles right before your eyes and still you won't join us,won't commit yourself? Won't give anything back to the community?" Now was your turn to shut up and stare at her, disbelief fetched on your face. "What are you saying?" you asked quietly. Bev smiled at you, a mean smile: "I'm only saying, that if you really do plan on, well, staying here, on this island, the very least you could do is try to fit in and become a part of this community, not just leech on it."
You could feel tears starting to form in your eyes. You knew she was a cruel woman, that she was trying to purposely hurt you, but a small voice inside your head started asking the little nasty questions anyway. 'Am I really leeching on these people?', 'Should I just go and become a catholic? Will I be driven out if I won't?', 'Am I not welcomed here anymore? Should I stop going here?' You tried to will yourself, you tried to be strong, to gather the courage to tell her off, but a single tear had already rolled over the edge and landed on your cheek, slowly running down all the way to your chin and then falling down onto the wooden floor of Saint Patrick's it fell.
"That's enough," said a different voice, one that made you quickly wipe the tear track off your cheek with the sleeve of your jumper and made Bev Keane freeze like a statue. A gentle hand landed on your right shoulder and a comforting warmth settled on your left side as Father Paul appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, to your rescue. "Beverly, this is the house of God," he said, and while he was as soft-spoken as he always is, there was a stern and cold undertone in his rich voice, "The doors are always open just as the gates are always open, to anyone and everyone who comes with peace and humility. One's religion is one's own choice and I am more than happy to interpret from the Bible to all, be they Catholic or not." Bev just stared at him, her expression that of a child who knew they were caught doing something bad, but weren't feeling guilty about it. "I didn't mean anything by it," she said in the most sickeningly sweet voice and smiled, "I was only imploring our friend to consider her decisions. Father, (F/N) (L/N)." And with that she'd spun on her heel and left.
Father Paul's arm was still wrapped gently around your shoulders. You stood, your look transfixed to the ground where your tear fell and you felt terribly tiny. Just fifteen minutes ago, you felt over the moon with happiness and gratefulness for little Leeza and now you just wanted to go home, bury yourself under pillows and blankets and never leave the house again. "Come on," said Father Paul, the coldness in his voice gone and replaced with comfort, "let's get you some tea." He led you out the back of the church, still with his arm around you, and you let him. Before you knew it, you were at the rectory and he opened the door. His home was humble, there was a small sofa on the left of the door sat in front of an old telly. On the right was a desk and several chairs. Behind them stood a tall bookshelf filled with books. On the far left side was a kitchen with the basic necessities, a stove with an oven, a sink, and an old-timey refrigerator. To the back of the room were doors leading to Father Paul's bedroom.  You presumed the bathroom was somewhere in the back.
Father Paul sat you down onto the tiny sofa and set about making you a cup of tea. You sat quietly for a while, just staring into space. “Am I really just leeching off these people?” you couldn’t stop yourself from saying out loud. The priest ceased his movement just as he was about to put the kettle on. After a second or two, he finally fired the stove up and put the kettle down. “No,” he said and came slowly into your view. Father Paul, young, fit, and already beloved and respected by his congregation, got to his knee in front of you and grasped your hands, “No, you’re not. You came to an island which most people leave and decided to stay. You care about these people, you try to help them as best as you can and you are actively trying to be one of them. And they see it. They realise it. And even if you never become religious, if you never come to get your holy communion, you’ll always have your place here. On this island, with these people, in this church. So don’t let what Bev says get to you, okay?” New tears were threatening to spill as you listened to Father Paul. You felt a soft finger underneath your chin and you looked up into the pastor’s soft, gentle eyes. And when you did, he gave you the kindest smile yet. And even as you did let the tears fall freely, you smiled right back at him.
It became something of a habit. At least twice a week you and Father Paul would meet outside of church, either at your home or the rectory, for a cup of tea and a chat. Ever since the little incident with Bev, you found that you could talk more freely with him. About everything, really. You talked some more about religion and Catholicism and he explained to you how one who wasn't born into a catholic family and baptised even becomes a catholic. Seeing as you had no knowledge about actually entering the church, your brain spun from all the information rather quickly. That some people can spend whole years as catechumens, before they're actually ready to be baptised and that the rite of election usually starts on the first Sunday of lent. The actual initiation to catholic church then takes place on Easter vigil. It was a lot to take in, but Father Paul remained forever patient, and always willing to explain.
You talked about many other things too. You learned some time ago that he had taken it upon himself to lead a local AA group, so that Riley didn't need to waste the entire day away just to go to and from the mainland. Paul came around one evening looking very happy and proud. He told you about Joe Collie, whom Leeza Scarborough forgave the bizarre 'hunting' accident and who in turn decided to give up drinking. You enthusiastically listened to him talk about homilies he was preparing and the awaited Easter vigil. He even shared some not so public stories, like how he found Warren Flynn secretly snogging Leeza behind the church after one of the masses, or how he heard Erin pray for the health of her baby and had a hard time keeping from chuckling as he overheard her whisper 'Oh, and please let it be a girl, amen' before she ran out of the church. You in turn told him about a new book you were working on, or about your attempts at drawing and painting. You once invited him out for a walk through the small forest behind the church and he happily accepted. And that became a habit too.
However, with every day, every cup of tea, every walk and every Sunday mass, it became more and more difficult for you to be in Paul's almost saintly presence and stop yourself from thinking positively sinful thoughts. More and more you find yourself looking at his beautiful lips, thinking how velvety soft they must be and how sweet they must taste. When he puts his large gentle hand on the small of your back, you find yourself wishing he'd take your face in his hands, or run his elegant fingers through your hair. When he wraps an arm around your shoulders amicably, all you see in your mind's eye are his long, strong arms enveloping you in their heat and safety until you know nothing else. And when he speaks, you imagine lying with him, your head resting on his chest, listening to his heartbeat and his voice, as he talks to you softly. Not to mention the even more wickedly sinful impure thoughts. All in all, you found yourself desperately, maddly and absolutely in love with your friend, who just so happens to be a catholic priest.
As Easter vigil approached, it became even harder, as Paul seemed to always find a reason to touch you. Brushing his fingers along yours as he was handing you your tea, or laying his hand on yours after you had made him laugh. When on a walk, he'd put his hand on your back more often than not and once, when he discovered a lovely place that overlooked the entire island, he actually led you there by hand, linking your fingers together. You decided you couldn't live like this anymore. To know you love someone and feel them so close to you, only to have them taken away again as reality kicks in feels like a heartbreak every time. To love someone as a friend and needing to have constant self control over yourself, else you let your instincts take over and risk driving the person away is exhausting. And honestly, you weren't even sure what was worse. When Paul once told you 'I'm so glad you're here with me' with that smile of his and the ever so kind and gentle look in his eyes, you wanted to tell him. You wanted to kiss him, to fly into his arms and never leave them and hating yourself for the very thought. And as much as he was fond of you, you knew that he would never leave his flock, wouldn't turn his back to his god for an earthly temptation, and therefore you would never actually know what it was like to kiss him.
Some people took notice of your rotten mood whenever you came down from the high you got when in his presence. Annie tried to cheer you up by her cooking, for which you were eternally grateful, but it didn't help. Sheriff Hassan tried to lift your spirits by telling your far fetched and utterly ridiculous stories from his time as a policeman. You did laugh at all of them, but it didn't help. You could spend hours and hours playing with Pike, but it would never be enough. Erin was the only one who actually addressed the issue openly, pleading with you to tell her what is actually wrong. And, for some bizarre reason, you actually did. You told her about your infatuation with Father Paul and how much he means to you not only as a priest and a friend, but also as a man. Erin listened. She didn't judge you and she didn't mock you. She didn't call you a sinner and she didn't even chastise you. After what felt like hours of you spilling all of your frustration with your predicament, she finally spoke: "You should tell him." "What?" you sputtered, bewildered. "You heard me," she said, "you should tell him. If anything, you'll get it out of your system. Maybe it'll get better." You sat down heavily on her couch and put your head in your hands. You sighed and muttered into your palms. "What was that?" said Erin, genuinely not having understood you. You looked up at her, miserably: "What if he hates me?" You honestly felt like crying, but strangely dull at the same time. "He could never hate you. You're probably his most favourite person on this island, if all the little forest dates are anything to go by," Erin said, amused. You however felt there was nothing humorous about your situation and only covered your face again. "He won't hate you. Just tell him. Maybe you'll even be surprised." Those were words you'd desperately wanted to believe, but found it difficult to. "He's a priest, Erin. After Leeza, nearly the entire island attends his mass. I even saw Joe hanging around at the last one… There's no way… To be honest I-" you stopped for a moment, "I think it might be better if I left."
Neither of you said anything for the longest time. You were softly weeping into your hands while Erin stared at the back of your head in disbelief. "You… You would actually leave? You'd actually leave this all behind?" she was saying as if it was physically impossible to imagine such a thing, "you would leave me and the little one? You would just pack up and leave your home, your neighbours, even after they finally accepted you as one of their own? I'm sorry (Y/N), but that's bullshit!" You winced at the shrill of her voice. "That's bullshit and you know it. Come on," her voice went down again as she noticed your shoulders shake. Gently she rubbed circles into your back before taking a hold of your wrists with her free hand and pulling them away from your face. "Do you mean that?" she then asked, her voice quiet and soft now, "would you actually leave me here all on my own, the only sane woman?" Through teary eyes you looked at her and truthfully admitted: "I would never leave you behind." Erin pulled you close, put your head on her shoulder and made small shushing noises as you gradually calmed down. "I'll tell him," you promised then, "after the Easter vigil."
The Easter vigil in Saint Patrick's was a beautiful thing to experience. The entire island, including you, walked to the church using candles to light your way while singing hymns. You felt so entirely light as you walked next to the Scarboroughs and the Flynns. You sang too, and you let your heart replace your brain momentarily, just so you could enjoy the celebration. You let the amazing blessed things fall on your shoulders at once. The Flynn family and their reconciliation, the Scarboroughs and their miracle, Erin and her little one, Joe Collie and his ultimate sign to be a better man. All at once you felt the goodness. And it nearly brought a tear to your eye. Good things are still happening and there are good people to experience them. But this all faded as you laid your eyes on Father Paul. He read from the old books up until the crucifiction of Christ, his death and his revival. And while you deeply enjoyed hearing him talk, you suddenly felt like there was a stone blocking your airway. And you felt like it would suffocate you surely, until-
"So how's that for convincing?" asked Father Paul. All people present were slowly leaving the church. Erin looked at you once, gave you a nod, and then left with Riley. "Listen, um," you looked up at him, and your desperation was probably very visible in your eyes, for his entire focus shifted to you, "I need to talk to you. Privately."
Father Paul just nodded and took your hand once more. He didn't let go until you were in the rectory, sat on his bed for some reason. Only then did he ask what's on your mind. It was so quick you hadn't even been able to build your defenses,or make any sort of back up plan, etc. You just decided to speak.
"I can't become a catholic," you blurted out, feeling a bit sick to your stomach. "Oh," said Father Paul immediately, "why not?" "Because I'm sinning right now, father…" "Why is that?" said Father Paul, his cool facade melting ever so slowly. "Because I'm wanting, father. Because I'm lusting. I'm lusting after a man of the cloth and I feel like I love him. I'm a sinner,  because I wish to feel his warmth close to me and I wish to be on his mind always. I want him to kiss me senseless and make me his. Forgive me father, for I have sinned and I am sinning as we speak." You caught your breath finally and looked into Father Paul's eyes. They were nearly unreadable to you, but you saw something within them anyway. A hunger. And when you looked a little closer, you saw there was something you could only call love too.
Father Paul Hill slowly wrapped his arms around you and pressed his soft lips upon yours. And for a little while you felt like you were lost. Lost in the divine sensation of sweet soft lips melting against your own. Your fingers tangled into his hair and he grabbed you as if you were the only thing keeping him alive. You moaned softly as he pulled you into his lap. Being so close to him, your entire brain shut down and you only felt the sensations. The sensation of him kissing up and down your neck, of his arms linking around you so tightly, of teeth nibbling on each inch of exposed skin. You were so lost in pleasure and adoration you almost missed the one sentence you wished to hear, but never thought you actually would. "I love you," sighed Father Paul inbetween kisses. You gasped, but recovered very quickly and pulled him tighter into you. Gently, you grasped at his raven locks and made him look at your face; in your eyes. "I love you too," you replied and pulled him close once more. So forbidden and yet so right, you had no idea what would happen next. One thing you did know though; as long as you and Father Paul laid upon his bed, your lips red and swollen from kissing and your hearts light and filled with love - Life is going to be just fine.
I hope you liked it. I’ll be a happy little sucker if you tell me whatcha think or check this story out on AO3 thank xx

Okay I want to elaborate on something I’ve been thinking about, since I talk a lot a lot about character meta (specifically Winter Meta and Arc 2 as a whole really) and I want to dive into something that bothers me a lot about this book series.
There’s a phenomenon really prevalent in the books, and somewhat in fandom that I call the Good Victim/Bad Victim Dichotomy (A name I think I got from a Tv Tropes Page but ignoring that for a moment-) where characters who have certain traits are treated as “bad victims” or good victims, and usually “bad victims” are argumentative, angry, mean, and downright horrible at times, while “good vicitims” are nice, shy, and are so sad they can’t do anything bad.
It’s a phenomenon that’s incredibly present in these books, Darkstalker and Whiteout are actually really “good” examples of this, Darkstalker, who is ambitious and often times gets argues with his abusive father is controlling and spiteful, is painted as a inherently evil dragon who becomes a genocidal controlling power-hungry animus who wants to take over the world, who eventually gets mind-wiped and gets turned into an “innocent pure child” while Whiteout, his quiet, nice, and slightly quirky sister is portrayed as a innocent dragon who is pure and good and acts as a dragon Darkstalker can use to “pet the dog” if you will, and Whiteout is given a “happy ending” where she runs away with Thoughtful while Darkstalker is sealed in a mountain for a 1000 years when he’s like 15.
Now while Darkstalker and Whiteout is the most notable example of this, this is a recurring idea in the books.
For another example, Winter is a character who’s a bit of racist at the start, and is mean, angry, and argumentative who grew up as a prince in a terribly abusive family while Qibli is a nice, friendly, very mischievous, dragon who grew up in a crime den with a terribly assume family. Both are victims who grew up in terrible abusive households, but Qibli gets the girl and a happy life with his friends standing beside his queen, but Winter gets exiled and is more or less isolated from all the people he knew, and then one of his friend’s proceed to tell him to his face that they trust him to be loyal but not with important information that pertains to Darkstalker, the dragon that tried to kill his entire kingdom and killed his aunt, which is treated as a “you gotta earn out trust back” moment even though this is incredibly unfair from Winter’s perspective.
There’s also Turtle and Anemone, Anemone, the mean, believed she was better than everyone, entitled, and also very willing to do murder in Talons Of Power, animus dragon was potrayed as bad for, well wanting to do murder, which yeah, fair enough, but also for feeling angry about her abusive mother who used her as a weapon her entire life, and that said her murder-willingness comes from the (false) belief that she’s believed since she was a child that she will become evil no matter what, while Turtle, a shy, sad, lonely kid is treated as good for accepting his abusive and neglectful mother and less likely to become evil compared to Anemone, and the books end with, first of all the gang being “relieved” that Anemone actually isn’t evil using the soul reader, a reader she checks every day to make sure she doesn’t become more evil, and getting an animus enchanted object that can “remove” her thoughts of “superiority”, while Turtle, who get’s the same object, is still rewarded with the knowledge that he’s not evil at all and becomes more confident with himself while his sister is worried about her morality every day
I can list even more, like the entire false Dragonets of Prophecy, for example, where Fatespeaker is considered better than any of them because she’s nice!
And look, I’m not saying these dragons didn’t do bad things, sometimes they did incredibly horrid things Anemone tried to murder her family, Darkstalker did try (and somewhat succeeded) committing genocide, Winter was racist at the start and was continuously mean, pushy, and rude with people, Most of the False DoD were mean and angry and constantly hurting each other.
But Wings Of Fire, at large, tends to play into the idea that there is a “good victim” and a “bad victim” which is a problem, speaking from someone who could of been classified as a “bad victim” years ago mistakes have been made and have to be fixed, I won’t argue with that, but Wings of Fire often times makes these conflicts more morally simple than they should be, which, isn’t good, Winter and Anemone are great examples of characters who have been pushed to there limit and want an out, there ugly, but there incredibly relatable and, I’ve said this a lot on other accounts, important, media tends to portray trauma in a sanitized, aesthetically pleasing way, and while I would like to say that shy, sad, characters who want to be good, are still valuable portrayals of trauma, and not inherently bad, it’s more likable to see a character who mopes and cries for three hours thinking about the pain they endured, than a character who is rude and hateful and expressing all that trauma in such a way that it hurts the people around them. But both portrayals are incredibly valuable. And the fandom is not safe from this! Actually usually you find this stuff in fandom, fandom will take a character’s worst traits and make them even worse, make it their main personality even though we have hundreds of words that show there way more complex then that, or treat them like an innocent party who can do no wrong, and I feel like both weakens there overall character.
So yeah, I really dislike how characters with trauma are portrayed in WoF, I think it’s done poorly which is upsetting for multiple reasons, and that’s why I write Meta posts like these (like my Winter Martydom post I want you to check out cause I think I wrote it well.)
Yeah, that’s it.

" Fyuga thinks.. the reason Fyuga wants to try to blend in so bad is because Fyuga still feels like an outcast. " Sullen. Hands are placed firmly on her lap as she stares ahead blankly at nothing in particular. A nice, quiet day in the park with not a cloud in the sky. The sound of other children playing nearby fill the air, with their parents having their own conversations while dogs bark and chase each other.
" Can't explain why.. Just feels like that. Like Fyuga isn't... 'human' enough to be with them. Playing... " " Ever since some other kids made fun of Fyuga, Fyuga's been trying to be more normal. Fyuga doesn't know if they'd like her, still... "

shock . silence . his heart starts to hurt like it were enduring the aftermath of someone hitting it with a mallet , all leaking cracks and a dizzying , worrying sense of sinking .
--- what could he possibly say to that ?
they're questions and worries that perpetually plagued him too . badly before his fourteenth birthday , worse after it and his bizarre genes had manifested dark . the truth was always right there , waiting to be either witnessed or confronted . neither he nor dark were normal , dark had said once before . they never would be , always one-of-a-kind and lonely , and fyuga was the same .
he can't think of even the first way to try begin explaining anything . daisuke's lips part . his mouth seems to open , but no sound comes out of it --- he can't say anything , because he can't think of anything , because there was nothing . nothing but the sound of happiness and friendly bonds that found no strings attached to them , blissful lives that they weren't a part of .
... the fear that some sort of happiness had been robbed from her because she had been taken in by a family of criminals returns in full force .
Tumblr media
' i'm ... sorry , fyuga . ' choking on his own whisper , his head lowers , and his fingers , in the small , white-knuckled round of his fist , clench . it's tightly enough that he keeps himself from slipping out any tears , though his expression remains delicate enough that he might have burst into them at any moment --- even the slightest , cast-pebble thought .
he's been chased by strangers . he's been chased by so-called friends . he's been chased by the police . he's even been chased by monsters , jealousy seeking the black-winged monster inside of him . shelter beneath the niwa's mansion would always carry at least a hint of danger for as long as it was also dark's nest . it was taking an underground side where elsewhere , maybe she might have been able to have better instruction , and learn how to better fit in .
what everyone in his family , even himself , would end up teaching her --- was only how to lie .
' but ... you can always try , right ? ' it's what he wanted to believe in , anyways , even if the words made him azumano's finest hypocrite . stupid , useless , depressed loser . frightening , abnormal , freak of nature . ( who would ever want to be friends with you --- ? the real ' you ' , if they knew . )
' because ... maybe if you don't give up , you'll find someone . someone who wants to be your friend more than anything , no matter what other people think . ' was it fine to say that he himself was still looking --- ? ' until then ... '
he takes timid , tender hold of her hand , his grasp cold and ever-so-slightly shivering . ' it's okay . you don't have to change all at once , and maybe those aren't the right people , anyways . for me , as long as it's fyuga ... ' who knew both of his names ; both of his bodies and their faces , and never fled in horror from either of them , ' i like you . '
he tries not to confess with too much guilt or shame .
' and i don't ... want you to feel like you're alone . '
