Ooohh your yandere Phillip got me thinking what if it was Colin? Like someone insulted Penelope and unrooted some childhood insecuritiea so Colin tortures the bastard but like while doing so, he waxes poetic about Pen?
Like imagine him cutting this poor sod and lamenting how his blood doesn't even come close to the hue of Pen's hair or plucking out his blue/brown eyballs because how dare he share the same eye color as his goddess!
Lmao I just think Colin would be the kind of yandere that would make every torture method he instilled on his victims somehow relate to Pen (or their kids). Thoughts?
See, Colin didn't even like Marquess Odysseus Rose in the first place. He thought himself in love with Colin's soulmate and that Colin's nymph would be in love with him too! The man was also practically a roach. No matter what Colin did, he always came back. The only reason Colin had not killed him outright yet was because he provided the stories of different fairy tales from around the world that made Penelope smile.
Well, that roach made Colin's nymph frown last night. All bets were off.
"You know Rose, I always was partial to the color red," Colin said as he picked up the needle. He stuck it in the nearby fire. "Like this fire or your blood. Though neither are as pretty as my nymph's hair."
The needle was glowing. Perfect.
Colin leaned over the tied down lord and began to write on his back.
Marquess Rose let out a muffled scream.
"Yellow is a close second," Colin said as he continued writing. "Not an ugly yellow like your festering wounds. More like sunshine, like my nymph's dresses, and her smile."
The pain was too much, Marquess Rose began to cry.
"I will say, I have always been a little bit jealous of you," Colin confessed. "You were given a gift to named so perfectly that it paired with my darling nymph. Odysseus and Penelope."
Colin sighed. "I guess in a way to counter that, I tried to become Odysseus. A wordly explorer." Colin pressed down harder. "Of course, I would never have a mistress when my darling nymph was at home. Your namesake was a fool to do that to his queen. I am no such fool."
Colin inspected his writing. Odysseus had passed out from the pain. Colin frowned. No, no, they can't have that. He has to hear the poem Colin wrote dedicated to his nymph.
Colin plans to make his darling nymph smile, unlike Odysseus.

So I had a hilarious idea for a Benophie au
In which Sophie was legitimized as the daughter of the Earl of Gunningworth and is determined to not get married in order to cash in on her complete inheritance as soon as she's on the shelf. Because she doesn't want a husband to get his hands on her money the way Araminta did with her father
Cue Sophie being one of the many mildly ellegible misses of the Ton and meeting the Bridgertons at a much younger age. Going to balls and trying to avoid marriage but still having fun flirting with suitors to appease her father
Then she gets the brilliant idea that she's going to get a lover because she wants to know how that feels like. Better yet she's going to seduce some man at the Bridgerton masquerade
Sophie confides the plan to Kate. As a good best friend, Kate doesn't approve of Sophie's plan. Sophie doesn't care. She's going to dance at the masquerade and find a guy.
----
"Kate!! Kate wake up!" Sophie hissed poking Kate with a stick from the edge of her bed
"Sophie? Wait what are you doing here at.... Dawn" Kate yawned "and wearing a man's shirt of all things??"
"all right so remember yesterday's plan? I may have girlbossed to close to the sun" the Gunningworth heiress said sheepishly
"oh gosh Sophie what did you do"
"I stole some gentlemen's first time" Sophie confessed " as in, you know... I was His first"
"you slept with a virgin??"
"I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS A VIRGIN!!" Sophie protested "He looked good in his mask, and we got kissing and I practically pushed him down on the bed" Sophie looked anything but ashamed "he's a Bridgerton, who in the world would believe one of those is a virgin?"
"oh no!" Kate gasped in horror "you slept with a Bridgerton, you slept with one of the owners of this house, this is bad, terrible, not good" Kate's eyes got impossibly wider " wait which Bridgerton? Because there's no way the Viscount is a virgin, that clown has the look of a man who knows what a woman looks like naked"
"no, not the Viscount, the second one, Benedict"
"The one who can't sit properly in a chair to save his life?" Kate reviwed the fee times she'd come across Benedict Bridgerton and decided that Sophie was right "Well I can definitely see why you wouldn't think he's a virgin" he had too much tendency to lie down in flat surfaces for one
"It gets worse"
"worse than taking a Bridgerton's first time?" Kate snorted
"well he may have proposed in the middle of sex" Sophie paused before adding " something about love at first sight"
"oh no, he's one of those romantic lunatics" Kate groaned covering her face with her hands "still..you're still wearing your mask !! He didn't even see your entire face, we can fix this"
" it's like he wants me to take responsibility for his virginity by marrying him" Sophie groaned "I'm not ready to get married Kate, I'm too young and too wild, to be tied down"
"and what am I supposed to do about it?" Kate wanted to help but really this sounded like a terrible mess " wait, if you spend the night with him, but you are here... did you just vanish from his bed while he took a nap?"
Sophie looked down and nodded "I'm hoping he'll wake up and think it was all a dream"
Kate was about to refute her when the kind voice of Penelope Featherington knocked on the door "good morning Kate, sorry for waking you up so early"
" Hi Penelope, if the Viscount is looking for Edwina please tell him she was indisposed last night so she slept in mother's room " Kate called out making a motion for Sophie to be quiet
"No, I'm looking for someone else actually, did you happen to see a five foot two blonde in a pink mask last night? A friend of mine is looking for her.... to return a glove"
Kate observed the very underdressed Sophie and guessed that it wasn't just a glove that needed to be returned. Infront of her Sophie was making a No no no motion with all her might
"Sorry Penelope, I don't know anyone who fits that description"
"Oh, that's quite all right, maybe we'll see her at noon, the person has to show up eventually right?" Penelope replied and soon left to knock on another door
It was so easy to forget how much of a Bridgerton Penelope Featherington was until things like these happened. Whenever Penelope subconsciously performed the duties of a sister in law to perfection one was reminded that she was the closest thing to a daughter in law that the family had. Kate and Sophie often wondered if the girl knew it
Being patient enough to wait for the globetrotter Bridgerton to propose must take the perseverance of a saint after all..
"Penelope is very observant, she won't take an excuse for long" Kate told Sophie quite seriously " so how do you plan to escape Benedict's proposal?"
Sophie seemed to think about it for a moment "what if I pretend to be your maid?"
------
This drabble is entirely based on the prompt " Sophie steals Benedict's virginity and panics when he demands she make an honest man out of him and take responsibility"
Featuring Kate as the sensible best friend who will now proceed to hide Sophie from Benedict and gaslight Anthony into believing he never invited Sophie to this house party.
And Penelope, the wallflower who seems not to know she's the designated Bridgerton sister in law.
Meanwhile Benedict is that dude who just wants to meet his Cinderella again, kiss her, marry her, and have a repeat of the masquerade night all over again

in honor of you hitting 1K, I was wondering if I could get a Reid x BAU!Reader based on #9 from this prompt list, but the third person as Garcia?
Congrats on the milestone, you deserve it!! ❤️
Ahhh, thank you so so much, my love. Here is the blurb, I hope you like it _______________
“Woah, Baby Girl, did you rob a bakery or why is this big back smelling like a dream out of sugar and pastries?” Derek calls after Penelope, as she makes her way to the bullpen. With a bright smile on her face she turns towards him. “If I would do such things, you are the first to be informed, my partner in crime. I baked some goods last night for Reid and (Y/N), because she got into the academy next fall and Spencer helped her write that important essay.”
Excitedly she opens the bag and shows Morgan the number of donuts in it. The sweet smell wafting out of it is enough to make any mouth water. “Am I allowed to steal one, baby girl?” This question is just an alibi, since Derek already is reaching into the bag. But a sudden slap to his hand stops him.
“No! You didn’t get into the academy nor did you help someone. These are solely for Reid and (Y/N), Chocolate Thunder.” His face of puppy dog eyes, a poor attempt to convince Penelope otherwise, is cut off by a certain teen’s voice.
“I heard my name and the academy in one sentence. Are you playing the messenger and bear the bad news, Penelope?” (Y/N) asks her while Derek casually puts his arm around her shoulder and pulls her into his side. Since she started her internship there, (Y/N) learned to understand his touches as his expression of affection and love.
A bewildered look onto Spencer’s face finds its place as he joins the group. “What bad news? You sent me a picture of the letter with another picture of a crying hermit hugging his phone. You got into the academy, right?” During his questions he eyes Garcia’s bag, already smelling his favorite kind of pastries.
Meanwhile Derek was called into Hotch’s office, (Y/N) explains her answers. “Oh, yeah I did get it. It’s bad news for my professors in the academy, because they need to work with this dumbass. I wouldn’t have gotten in, if it wasn’t for you, Spencer.”
“Ah, what did we say about self-depreciating talk?” Reid reminds her. An exasperated sigh leaves her lips. “I am a smart person. My value isn’t tied to my academic success, yadda yadda yadda.”
Witnessing the influence their resident genius has on their favorite intern, Penelope smiles so much, it must be hurting for sure.
“Oh, so much love. And as a congratulation I baked some donuts and stuff. Enjoy!” She gives (Y/N) the bag along with a hug and goes off to her lair.
The two remaining people share a look. It’s enough to communicate about who is going to dish the sweets and who is going to make the hot beverages.
Over their mugs of tea and/or coffee Spencer and (Y/N) argue about who should get the last donut. It’s loud enough to be broken up by Hotch.

Hello, hello! Love your blog name, let me just start with that. I am a Jemily trash can and I kinda feel like Evolution is specifically keeping distance between JJ/Emily. Maybe the actors don't like the ship or the writers want us to stop speculating? What do you think? Don't you find it odd that they have so few friendship scenes in Evolution? Don't even get me started on the Garvez mess. I liked Evolution overall for the plot, but for the relationships between the characters, I felt there was something missing. What is JJ up to, aside from being a mom? How do we not know anything about Luke outside of BAU? Overall, it's so messy. What do you think, did you enjoy Evolution? :)
Didn't like it too much. I mean, the plot was okay I guess, nothing too new for us killing wise or with all the blood and stuff. But with the relationship the team has or much better had, it was ridiculously blank. Like they were supposed to be better with each other. Even more when they have shared countless days with each other, maybe when they passed more time with each other than with their own families. They were a damn family. They have always had. But Evolution couldn't grab its concept or didn't want too. We've seen so little scenes that I used to love of members of the team teasing each other than it more felt like they only coexisted in the same space because they had to. Because their work tied them there, without any more motives as to even tolerate one another (jemily) not being able to maintain a conversation that wasn't about work. For me Evolution managed spectscularly to ruin some of the characters that I left adorning when season 15 ended. Like you said, there's many things that we have missing. Emily's and JJs palpable distance between them. What happens with Luke and Emily's life outside work? What happened if JJ were something more than a mom? What if the writers gave us something of JJ apart from Will and their kids. It was a little suffocating for me to see so much of JJs family life protrayed like she is perfectly capable of balancing everything. Perfectly capable of taking care of her family and Will that she doesn't even break down at work because of Will, that she isn't even a little distracted by the possibility of him dying, the way they did with Tara regarding her relationship with Rebecca. Really I don't think that JJ and Will are healthy for each other, I mean not anymore. Like why did JJ even leave for New Orleans in the first place? Why does she doesn't communicate with Emily like she used too? With is there an invisible wall between them? And then Penelope...they have ruined her in ways I didn't think they were capable too...
What do you think about all of this? Are you going to watch season 17?

Oh my fair non-canon ships, I love them. My forever and ever ship is and will always remain not canon but I'm with you, I never once argued or tried to push it against the canon ships. What other people think of my ships is not my business and I'd prefer them do me the favor of keeping it to themselves, hah.
The CS angst was a lot, wasn't it? How many times can one man die?
It's tragically abysmal how they discount her isn't it? She's out there making the best of it and yet, people always gotta get themselves in a mess. Which is funny how everyone blames her for it like 90%+ of them aren't doing it where people can see and the other 10% has been to protect them. Okay then. I am eternally grateful the things I was doing at 19 are not on some list of unforgivable crimes I get held to every time something in my life happens.
Eloise, my love. You are decently self centered and I think now it's slightly harder to ignore. I remember thinking that in RMB too tbh. She was very cagey about what she was doing while demanding Penelope tell her everything. She seemed a bit put out about Colin and Penelope having this whole relationship she was unaware of like her idea of Penelope shouldn't have to change.
I do think we had Colin being more protective of her for a good reason not just as a set up to where he hurts her at the end of the season. If he hears something beforehand or knows something she doesn't, I think he won't handle it well. Bringing in book elements would almost have to mean some version of his reaction. He was so angry but so worried for her. I think Hero Complex Colin is very capable of coming out in full force.
Oh for sure, I doubt too many people are going to remember any of rumors or other stuff after we get a full season of Polin. I've seen some of the worst takes I've ever seen today, ha, so I think it's possible someone somewhere is going to write an essay on how she should have ended up with LOWK but that seems like a personal problem. I totally get why people might be unhappy about either direction but I agree with you, after their first kiss I have doubts about any of this infighting being a thought worth anyone's time.
I would say 95% of my ships are canon, I dunno I just seem to for the most part end up liking canon storylines. But I would never deny something someone else might enjoy. But I just don’t see the point in going after each other for no reason. Or in the case of what I’ve been seeing today, having ships on the same show attacking each other. Like I just honestly don’t get the point. Shipping is supposed to be a lovely thing that you enjoy that gives you feels. It should make you happy. Not cause grief and anger to others. I like the pretty pictures and the giddiness of all the fan fiction that makes the heart skip a beat.
HAHA Hook did have a way of dying A LOT but God he looked good doing it!!!
I totally agree though about Eloise, she was running around with a lot of her own secrets being very cagey but she was very angry that Penelope didn’t share her darkest secret with her. And book Eloise even more so. So going into Season 3, very very curious if we get any scent of her keeping secrets from her family at this stage of the story seeing how they are tied together in the book but also knowing that we could very well either skip into Benedicts story from here or go into hers next season.
I do think we are going to see a very curious Eloise as she starts to sniff out something going on between Pen and Colin. I am just not sure if it will be that she will try and warn her brother away from Pen because or her knowledge of LW or if its genuine curiosity of what is going on between them because I don’t think she has any sort of clue that either one of them would have feelings for each other at this point.
I want the scene where Eloise finds out that Colin knows about him knowing to be her in shock that he isn’t angry about it. And him being more upset with her that she is still angry after knowing for this long. Because damn girl, talk about holding a grudge, its been a whole season! Lol
Today has been a day of people being angry and floating red flags and angry feelings and sadly, Colin is taking a lot of the brunt of the anger so I’ll be happy for the next 3 weeks to go by quickly so everyone can get the season moving and realize (hopefully so) that they got bent out of shape for nothing. And maybe so some of the other ships in the Bridgerton family can be a bit more welcoming to the next family member up because honestly, that’s the whole point of this show I thought! Next season will be a different person all together. Everyone gets their day in the sun. There is enough love to go around people! Be kind!

let’s talk about Flight of Fancy’s major theme
Tumblr media
so, originally this started off as a completely different post. I actually ranked the episodes based on their title cards and it came as such as a surprise that Flight of Fancy ranked first because it’s so simplistic compared to some of the other, more elaborate ones. And then I realised that the reason behind that is how the title card reflects the episode’s major theme so well: masculinity v. femininity. So let’s analyse that. I’ll also attach my ranking below in case you were curious (each tier’s entries ranked best to worst left to right):
Tumblr media
the theme is present in the title card through the duality of the fonts. The golden cursive represents the femininity, whereas the bold blue airline letters are serving masculinity. The cursive’s swirls and romanticism gesture towards a traditional form of femininity as fragile and timid, whereas the bold letters are giving acceleration, thrill and physical prowess. The exploration of gender comes hand in hand with another prominent theme, which is appearance v. reality: masculinity is a facade and femininity is the truth, and the sun in the title card shows how eventually light will be shed onto the lies and the revelations will come forward. This matches the episode’s bossfight (and subsequent reveal that Penelope is masquerading as the Black Baron) which takes place during the daytime instead of the nighttime like the rest of the missions. The title itself means an idea, story, etc., that shows great imagination but is very unlikely to be true or practical (Merriam Webster). It’s referring to Penelope’s plan and how, despite her ambition and good intent, it was way too good to work out. At least not while the gang was there snooping around.
the series is not known for its progressive depiction of women really. In the span of 3 games, SP pigeonholed Carmelita into every single traditionally female role imaginable: the damsel in distress, the sassy Latina, the love interest, the angry POC, the thorny relatable gurlie on the first date. Non-casual players would have noticed SP’s female characters adhering to a certain pattern which doesn’t really think outside the box in terms of exceeding expectations. So, in Holland, the player and gang are thrust into this ultra-macho setting (albeit a different version of ‘macho’ considering we were just in the Australian outback in the middle of a colossal construction site/ testosterone central), where we’re introduced to the world of dogfights. The stakes are high, the competition is ruthless and the atmosphere is tense. This is felt right off the bat when we explore the hotel and absolutely no one is in a good mood, right before the Black Baron is introduced (via Dimitri no less, who blows everything out of proportion as expected). All of this signals towards a continuation of SP’s depiction of women as stereotypical. But then everything is turned onto its head.
now, I could go on about how Penelope dressing up as the Black Baron is the main example of the masculinity v. femininity theme, but that’s too on the nose and I’ve exhausted this topic of discussion so much on here. I mean, I am going to touch upon it, but later because it’s such a snooze zzz. Promise, though. For now, let’s reintroduce the idea of appearance v. reality being integrated into the depiction of gender in the episode: as I’ve said above, the first impression we get is this ultra-masculine, sophisticated one before having it be overturned. Almost all masculine aspects are revealed to be a sham or a lie by the end of the episode. Examples? Well, we convince Dimitri that violence, something way too common in the Slyverse and traditionally tied to masculinity, is not the answer to sparring with the Baron but he should instead use his sense of style to one-up him. Then, Muggshot as a side-villain poses such a threat and Murray struggles to take him down physically, but Bentley actually gets to him by playing on his sensitivities by mentioning his mother. Following this, Carmelita is the one who absolutely destroys Muggshot in her own mission. We also have the tricks and gimmicks the gang uses to sabotage the teams before the competition. Instead of battling and beating them head-on during the dogfights, we resort to using simple The Parent Trap (1998) tactics such as the pilots not getting enough sleep or stealing prized possessions, again playing on sensitivities and sentimentality. It’s not about being tough enough, it’s about brains. So, in retrospect, it’s not really about masculinity v. femininity but actually revealing masculinity for what it is, which is just a construct. SP tricks the player by having the set-up hint at the supposed depiction of traditional masculinity, just to then flip everything and show how y’know, no one here is as tough as they seem. They’re just using masculinity as a shield and an image. A facade. Which segues nicely into...
as promised: Penelope as the Black Baron. I won’t waste too much time on this but basically: play on physicality by having Penelope be a shapeshifter and as such attaching commentary on each bodytype and gender. Her first appearance photoshopped on a slim body with huge tits, suggesting how inside she doesn’t feel like enough to put her true self out there and how beauty standards for women are sky high. Then, the Baron as a tiny man with a short temper and loud voice: again, how traditional machismo masculinity is a facade, all bark and no bite (I won’t comment on the ill-fitted bossfight for the level which makes absolute 0 sense and how SP settled for a basic one instead of playing up the themes the same way they did with the Sly 2 bossfights eg. hypnotism, Bentley v. Bison, Murray proving his worth). How Penelope’s chances of making it in a male-dominated field despite her genius were so low that she had to dawn the persona of a man to make it, so gender bias in the workplace and overall misogyny. How Penelope is actually a meek woman who has to use the vessel of the male body to own a voice and be heard and be taken seriously. Thing is, as much as I’ve spoken about all these, it never gets tired because it’s so fascinating, but what’s more interesting is how SP then let it all go to shit by making Penelope yet another love interest. Yes, her getting snatched by a dragon in an episode centred around forced marriage was more progress, but ultimately, she’s just there to act as bait for the Sly v Bentley drama.
so what are the main takeaways here? Masculinity v. femininity theme isn’t actually what it sounds like, but a deconstruction of how SP implemented gender stereotypes onto their characters just to then exceed expectations in a moment of true self-awareness, but ultimately revert back to their eh ways.

Lies Pt.1
Tumblr media
(The gif is not mine. Whoever made this thank you and I’m sorry)
Summary: Spencer Reid and Y/n Y/L are two incredible agents with a beautiful relationship. But things get messed up when Cat Adams comes into their life.
Type: Angst.
I changed things a little bit so there’s no spoilers for those who haven’t got into this part of the serie. Probably a second part if I dont have another block. Enjoy!
Pt.2 here
Pt.3 here
...
Y/n Y/L and Spencer Reid are some of the best FBI agents the Bureau has ever had, and all of their coworkers can tell you the same. Even those cops and agents who had to work with when the case was far from home. They were always so dedicated to their work. It wasn't a surprise when they got pretty close to each other. They had a beautiful friendship.
Their coworkers and other people they had worked with can tell you they looked so in love with each other. It wasn't a secret. The way they protected each other, the way they looked at each other. In the cases, always talking and laughing around and even got to the point where they got touchy, need to feel the other warmth. Yeah, they were in love.
But yet they were too proud to say it out loud. It took two long years to finally say it out loud. They started a beautiful relationship which, in the words of the technical analysts Penelope Garcia, their relationship was the remainder for all the team that love still exists, even when sometimes all can be sadness and death, they were the ray of sun and happiness who have entered the doors of the BAU.
But like anything can be rainbows and happiness all the time, things got messed up when Cat Adams came into the couple's life. Spencer had questions, and the only person who could give him answers was her.
Y/N on her side didn't feel right talking to Cat. It wasn't because she was jealous, she wasn't like that, and even if she were, she understands that it was vital for him to talk to her. Besides, Spencer wasn't excited either. Adding the fact that she received letters from Adams while Cat was in prison.
Cat Adams was utterly obsessed with Spencer Reid, and when she found out he was dating Dr Y/L, she got furious, so she decided to make a living hell for Spencer's little girlfriend. Writing her letters, telling her how much Spencer loved Maeve and Cat, and because he couldn't have any of them, he decided to pick Y/N as a third choice.
Y/N wasn't stupid, and she understands what Cat was trying to do, but the letters never stopped. Even in those moments when she needed comfort from all the stress, Spencer never found out what was going on.
Y/n exhaled and stood from her desk and walked through the BAU hallways with a million thoughts in her head. She stood in front of the Batcave how Penelope used to call it, and knocked on the door. After a few seconds, she heard chairs wheels moving on the floor, and later soft heels steps walking closer to the door. And then the door was opened, letting Y/N see Penelope's face. She smiled at her, and Y/N smiled as well.
"Hey pumpkin, how may I help you?" She asked and stepped aside, letting her friend inside.
"I just need some light and love into this madness," Y/N said while she sits on the empty desk aside from the computers.
"Well, you came to the right place."
Garcia could sense something wasn't okay with her. She sits on her chair and looks at her friend who was playing with her rings and with the specific one that Spencer gave her on their anniversary as a promise ring. Garcia wasn't a profiler, but she knew that the reason why she was acting particularly was because of Boy Genius.
"Tell me what is bothering that pretty mind of yours." She put her hand on her knee to give her comfort cause she knew Y/L wasn't good with talking about her feelings.
"It's just all of this thing about Spencer talking with Cat, I don't know, makes me have this weird feeling in my heart."
"Are you jealous?"
"No, I'm not. I thought that maybe was the reason, but I'm not at all. It's just, I don't know Pen." She exhales, feeling frustrated because she couldn't find the right words.
Garcia gives her a sad smile. "Look, if you were jealous, you don't have to because let me tell you that boy genius is in love with you. He wouldn't cheat on you or hurt you on purpose. Besides, with Cat? That lady is hella crazy."
Y/N chuckled and smiled at her.
"Hey, you two had a party and didn't invite me?" Emily said, walking inside of the room and sitting next to Y/N.
"Well, you are already here," Pen says.
"Is everything alright? Morgan told me Spencer was coming from his little chat with Cat."
"I hope he got the answers he needs," Garcia said, looking over at Emily.
"He didn't," JJ said in the frame of the door, looking exhausted.
"How did everything go?" Y/N asks.
JJ exhaled, walking inside and sitting in front of Emily and Y/N. "It wasn't right. She got into his skin, and he got so mad. When we're driving, he didn't want to talk with anybody. And then when we got here, he went to Hotch's office." "I hope he's okay." Y/N whispers, playing with her ring again.
"Why won't you go and talk to him? He probably wants to see you." Emily says, looking at her, but she was focused on playing with her rings.
Y/N shook her head. "When he's mad, he likes to be alone. Besides, if he went to Hotch's office for a reason."
"You don't want to talk to him, do you?" Emily asked.
Y/N could feel tears in the corner of her eyes and shook her head again. "Is not for something he did, but I don't think I will help if I go with him right now. I just feel weird, you know?"
"It has to be a reason why you feel like this, honey. "Garcia said.
Y/N nod and sigh. "When Spencer and I got together, he already met Cat, and when she found out we were dating, I don't know what happened, and she started sending me letters. She used to tell me how much Spencer loved Maeve and her, and you know I got this job months after Maeve died. Obviously, Spencer told me, but the way she described everything was so weird and hurtful, besides she told me he loved her so much and the reason he was with me it was because he couldn't have any of them and I was the third choice. I know she did it because she wanted to make me mad. But, I don't know, and today she wrote to me and told me she was going to do anything in her power to have Spencer with her again."
Y/N wiped the tear going down on her cheek.
"That bitch." Garcia said, wiping her tears because watching Y/N cry, one of her best friends, hurt her.
"Spencer knows about this?" JJ asked.
"No, he doesn't. It was nothing initially, and then I couldn't find the right moment and then all the stress we had been through. I didn't think it was a good idea."
"Baby, he's your boyfriend. He needs to know." Emily said, grabbing Y/N's tight.
"I know, but I don't think this is a good time either. Please don't tell him, I will, but not now." "Your secret is safe with us," Garcia said, and Y/N smiled at her friends.
When Y/N finally felt a little bit better, she walked out of Garcia's Batcave and put herself to work.
"Hey, where were you? I was looking for you." She heard her boyfriend's voice, watching him standing beside her. She looked at him and could sense how tense he was.
"I was with Garcia. How did everything go?" She already knew the answer but still asked. She watched her boyfriend sigh. She didn't notice the cup of coffee in his hand until he put it on her desk.
"It wasn't ideal, but it could've been worse."
"I'm sorry." She said, giving him a sad smile.
"It's okay. I have to talk with you about something." She could sense he was nervous.
"Yeah?"
He looked down, not wanting to tell what he was going to. He didn't want her to feel bad, but he needs her approval.
"Cat wanted a deal. Me going on a date with her so she can tell us what we need, but I needed to ask you first because I am not going to do anything you are not comfortable with because-"Spencer started rambling.
"Spence," She stops him. "It's okay. I mean, I know how bad you need to know this, so yeah, don't worry." It wasn't okay, she didn't want him to go on a date with her, but she would be selfish if she denied it.
Spencer stared at her girlfriend, he didn't think she would agree, and he would understand why. He didn't want her going on a date with someone else too. Yet, he felt relieved.
"Are you sure?"
Y/n only nodded.
It was now the day date. Spencer tried to find Y/n before he left, he needed to see her and ask her again if she wanted him doing that, but he didn't find her. She was getting distant from him. He felt weird not having her with him. They couldn't talk about it because Spencer knew that if she needed to speak to him, she'd.
And then with his heart hurt because he couldn't find his girlfriend, he went on a date with the woman who made her girlfriend be apart from him.
Y/n was doing paperwork all day, but then she received a strange call.
"Hello?" Y/n asked.
"Y/n Y/L?" The other line asked.
"Who is this?"
"I need you to come to the direction I will send you on a message, alone, please. I need you to save me."
"Who is this?" She asked again, more confused than ever.
"Emily Johnson, please come. She said that If you come with anyone else, she is going to kill me, please. I am scared."
Emily Johnson was one of the victims they were looking for a few months before, but for reasons the team didn't know, the case got closed, declaring Emily Johnson dead. The line went dead, and Y/n didn't know what to do. She knew that she might get in trouble if she goes alone, but she might kill her if Y/n doesn't go.
She grabbed her things and walked out of the Bureau. And then she received a message with the direction. Biting her lip, Y/n got into her car and started driving.
Y/n stood in front of a brown apartment door with the number 206. She took out her gun and opened the door softly. She walked inside, closing the door behind her, watching Emily Johnson tied on a chair, tears coming down her face. When Emily watched Y/n, she started moving and tried to talk, but she couldn't because of the tape on her mouth.
Y/n walked where she was. "Hey, it's okay. Everything is okay. You're okay. It is over now." Y/n took the tape out of her mouth, and Emily started crying again.
"Thank you, thank you so much. I thought she was going to kill me."
"I need you to tell me who she is." She started taking off the string who kept her in the chair.
And then the door got open, and Y/n retook her gun, pointing to the door. Her heart got broken when she saw what was in front of her. Spencer, her boyfriend kissing Cat, with his hands on her hair. Y/n put down her gun, and then Spencer pulled away from Cat, watching her, but Cat was watching Y/n with a smile.
Spencer, confused, looked where Cat was looking, and his heart got paralyzed. There was his girlfriend, looking at them with tears in her precious eyes.
"Y/n," Spencer said with all the guilt in the world. Shaking.
"It's her! Y/n, it's her." Emily said, and Y/n came out of her shook.
"Hello, Y/n, it is so nice to see you," Cat said with a smile.
"Sadly, the feeling is not reciprocated. And it's Doctor Y/L for you, " Y/n said. She untied the girl who was shaking and took her hand. "I will return you to your parents, okay? But we need to go with someone first." The girl nodded. Y/n looked at Spencer with disgust. He looked at her with guilt, trying to figure out what to do or what to say.
"Doctor Reid, I hope you can get Cat where she belongs, unless, of course, you want to keep her." She said, walking outside. Spencer took her arm hurt at the name she just calls him. It wasn't Spence, Spencer or even Reid. "Don't touch me."
"I told you I was going to get Spencie back," Cat said.
"What is she talking about?" Spencer asked, confused.
"Doesn't matter anymore."
And then Y/n left. Spencers biggest love went thinking he cheated on her

My Little Sun - Reid x Reader
Tumblr media
“Ridiculously perfect.” I held her tighter as she looked up at me and our eyes locked, “I’ve fallen ridiculously in love with you.” “So my evil plan worked then?” She chirped.
CONTENT WARNINGS: AGE GAP, VIOLENCE, KIDNAPPING, PREGNANCY, STALKING, LANGUAGE probably the misuse of a Russian word  IF THERES MORE LMK
A/N: Okay, let me be honest rq this idea lowk scared me but the words really just fell out of my brain really easily so, yk fuck it whatever.  ANYWAY, if you like, please let me know!
pt 2, pt 3 “I love you Spencer.” The words immediately melted me.
“I know so many things.” She gave me an unapproving look.
“I don’t mean to sound cocky, but I do! Now for once in your life, listen to me.” She nodded her head in concession.
“I’ve just read more, I’ve written more, I’ve discovered and studied more than the average person. I could tell you a little bit about anything with one hundred percent certainty. I could--and want--to tell you the names of all the stars, I could recite verbatim the entirety of Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus or Dostoevsky’s The Brothers Karamazov, which you know, speaking of I will ‘cause I still can’t believe you haven’t read it,” Her smile flattened into a straight line, and I laughed. “Orrr, I could also tell you something simple, like why we get the hiccups.” I shook my head.
“Regardless, I know so many things and I’m rarely taken by surprise because of it. Everything in life is a pattern of change, and as a human, we will always adjust and adapt to whatever situation we are in. For better or worse, we don’t feel the same thing for very long. This is why an addict takes a couple more every time, a sadist hits his second victim harder than the first, they’re searching for the high of the first time, and it will never come.”
She nodded in understanding,
 “I know this is true, it’s factual, and yet every time I look at you it feels like the first. You’ve broken the laws of human psychology.”
“First time you saw me was at a gas station Spencer.”
“No. The first time I looked at you after I knew I loved you.”
“Where were we?”
“My car. You were dancing. You looked ridiculous.”
“Ridiculously sexy? You mean?” She smiled.
“Ridiculously perfect.” I held her tighter as she looked up at me and our eyes locked, “I’ve fallen ridiculously in love with you.”
“So my evil plan worked then?” She chirped.
“It did indeed. You’ve become my solnyshko moyo.”
“Tell me that’s Russian dirty talk.” She said with a grin.
“It’s better. It’s a term of endearment you’ve become the epitome of.”
“And what’s that Dr. Reid?” she giggled.
“My little sun. You’ve become my little sun. Following me around and bringing light and warmth.” She snuggled herself impossibly closer into my chest, wrapping one of her legs over mine.
“Except for your feet!” I shrieked at her freezing toes meeting mine.
“They’re not that cold you big baby!” she shouted.
I laughed and kissed her sweetly, “I am not the baby here.” I said.
“Please,” she started until I interrupted her with a kiss, “If you’re not the baby,” I kissed her again, “That implies I’M the baby,” Kiss, “And I’m not a” Kiss.
“Shush baby.” I told her, but like always, she didn’t listen, instead sitting up to straddle me. My appreciation for her beauty was like how a prisoner appreciates freedom, and yet it was miniscule into what I found in her character. It blew my mind that a girl so perfect existed.
“Rarely do great virtue and beauty dwell together. Francesco Petrarch.” I started, my hands making their way onto her hips, “That makes you a rarity.”
“You’re spoiling me with nice words today Spencer.” “You’ve spoiled me. My frontal lobe is spoiled milk.” She laughed, wondering how I was going to manage to make this one romantic.
“That’s the part of the brain responsible for sensibility and logical thinking, and you, little girl, have positively ruined it. You make me stupid.”
“I ruined the genius Dr. Reid with the 187 IQ? Makes sense. I’m like, way smarter.”
“You are. So, so much smarter.”
“I want that in writing.” she poked my chest.
I pulled her down and kissed her forehead to whisper in her ear. “Not a chance.”
She pushed herself away and rolled her eyes at me like a bratty child does her nanny, and I continued, “ You’re smarter, but I’m more educated. I have more doctorates than you have years in university.”
“Whatever…”
I brushed the hair away from her perfect face, “You tired baby?”
She sighed and laid down, splaying herself on my chest, laying on me like I was the duvet. “Very.”
I held her impossibly close, breathing in her scent and counting every time her heart thumped, her bpm said she was relaxed. Oh god, I wanted her like this forever. Relaxed in my arms, where nothing could touch us but each other.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Must you work?” I sent the message to Spencer as I rolled over to his side of the bed in anticipation. I breathed in heavy, liking the way the pillow smelled like his laundry.
“Unfortunately.”  he responded. “Think you’ll be home this weekend?”
“It’s not looking like it, little one. I’m sorry.”
I didn’t reply. I was too sad to reply. I knew it’d make him feel guilty, which I didn’t want to do, cause like, his job and saving people and shit is important. But, it still wasn’t fair! At all. There was something very important I had to tell him.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total darkness, and then way too much light. My head hurt and I couldn’t move. I was handcuffed to a wooden chair. There were chains around my torso and ankles. The room was a medical sort of bright. It smelled like bleach and rotting fruit. The walls were dilapidated, seeming to be made of tiles that were once white, but have turned yellow.
What the FUCK?
“Hello!” I shouted. My voice was so coarse it hurt. Shit. My head pulsed so badly it practically hurt to think, but I still racked my brain.
Where am I?
How’d I get here?
Why am I here?
I woke up again. Fuck, why can’t I think? Why can’t I do anything?
“Hey, y/n.” A woman’s voice. A very stoic, cold, sounding female voice.
I’m not alone. Thank god, oh my god, I’m not alone.
With the little strength I had, I lifted my head to see her. She wasn’t what I thought. She was alright, she wasn’t tied. She did this to me?
She took a sip from her silver flask, “Do you know who I am?”
I shook my head. “No.”
“Typical.” She stood up and grabbed me by the hair, “You fucking disgust me.” Like, she said, she threw my hair away like it disgusted her.
She sat back down on the bench in front of the chair I was chained to, “My name is Brook Austen. I was a professor at Georgetown last year. Taught a couple seminars at your school, that little university you go to, the students there were nothing like mine. Not nearly as intelligent, but as expected, Georgetown is much more prestigious, obviously.”
I was confused, and she knew, but did not care.
“You’re not the brightest, y/n. Only slightly above average high school grades, strikingly mediocre academic performance now.”
Where the hell is she going with this?
“And you know it doesn’t surprise me, per say, because every man on this goddamn planet is a piece of fucking shit! But I thought that, maybe, just maybe, Spencer was different.”
She grimaced, “I thought he’d want more than just a pretty face! ‘Cause you might be prettier y/n, but I’m smarter.” Her words were laced with utter hatred.
Her demeanor changed, and it almost started to seem like she was talking to herself. “I'm older. I’m more successful. I’m fucking better.”
She approached me again, grabbing my face so I was looking her in those scarily light green eyes, and she wrapped her hands around my throat.  “I’m fucking better then you! Better, better, better!” Every time she said better she shook my neck and gripped tighter so I couldn’t breathe.
“Stop! Please! Please stop!” I shouted, “I’m-I’m pregnant!”
She began to break down, “You’re pregnant?” A maniacal chuckle left her throat, “You’re pregnant?”
“Is it Spencer’s?” she asked.
I nodded.
“Wow.” She laughed once more, “Fucking wow.”
“How could Spencer choose this!? You’re nothing like him. You are a pathetic fucking college student. A fucking daddy issue ridden slut! I’m a celebrated academic, just like him!” Tears began to slip from her eyes, “How could he not choose me?”
This woman is NOT well in the head.
“You--you like Spencer?” I asked.
“You don’t get to ask the fuckin’ questions here.” She pulled a knife out of her pocket and held it to the tip of my chin, “I do. So you’re gonna answer them.” Or, she started manically laughing, “I’ll kill you.” She swallowed, “And your baby.”
I screamed at those words, “No,” I sobbed, “NO!”
I turned my head away so I didn’t have to look at the woman in front of me, there was a timed red dot blinking. A camera.
“Is that-- is that a camera?”
She nodded, “I want Spencer to see you and his child die.”
“He….No! No, please, No!” I choked on a sob and she smiled.
“He doesn’t know.” She paced, “He doesn’t even fucking know!”
She waltzed over to the camera and brought it closer to us, “Hey Spencer.” She began waving, “Hey Penelope. Aaron. Derek. Jennifer. Emily.”
Her demeanor changed once more, into that of a cheerleader of all things, “So, quick recap.” Brook pursed her lips, “Spencer your twenty three year old fucktoy is pregnant. Congrats!”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Y/N was two things I didn’t know she was this morning: In serious danger, and the mother of my expected child. I felt frozen in trepidation.
We all watched in horror as Brook greeted us. All by first name. She knew exactly what she was doing and it freaked me out even more.
“Reid, you need to step out.” Hotch grabbed my shoulder, “Now.”
I was sick with fear and ill with rage. I sat down because I could feel my knees go weak. Hotch started again, “We know who she is. We will find her. Y/N will be alright.” He paused, “So will the baby.”
I replayed the events of the live footage in my head, her screams of pain and terror, her trembles and confusion. I’d failed her. I’d failed her and now I knew I’d also failed our child.
JJ sat down next to me, “Spencer, when did you meet Brook?”
“I uh,” I wiped my face, “A year and four months ago. I did uh, I taught uh, I taught a string of seminars at Georgetown. It was biweekly. Her office was next to mine. We spoke for the first time when she offered me a coffee.”
“What did you say?”
“What do you think I said?”
“Yes.”
“Yeah, I said yeah, I fucking like coffee.” I felt instantaneously guilty for cursing, and especially at JJ but I was too frazzled for it to last long enough to apologize.
“I know Spence, I’m sorry. Just keep going.”
“Then, the next week, we got lunch together.”
“Was it, you know, friendly?”
“What are you implying Jennifer?” I snapped.
“No Spence, we just need to know. You know that.”
“It was-- it was just lunch. A very normal colleague to colleague lunch. We talked about the school’s history. And uh, where we grew up. It was small talk.”
“Ok, was this the last time you spoke to her?”
“No. There was one more time. Y/N was there.”
“Tell me about it Spence.” She grabbed my hand,
I breathed out, “It was the next week I taught after lunch. About two hours before my class. I was lesson planning, and Y/N was doing homework on my desk. She came in. She asked if I wanted to go get lunch. She saw y/n and--Fuck.”
“What Spence? What?”
“She asked me who she was, but it was like, she didn’t want y/n to know she was asking. She thought she was…”
“She thought she was what?”
“A student.”
“And what did you tell her?”
“The truth. That she was my girlfriend.”
“Did you see her anywhere else after that?”
“No. She never came by my office again. When I would see her by chance, she would scurry away. It was strange.”
“Think really hard Spence. Did you ever see her again after you stopped teaching at Georgetown.”
I racked my brain, “Yeah. I did. It was two months ago. Three days after I proposed to y/n. She was getting a coffee at this coffee shop by y/n’s school.. I was bringing her some lunch”
“Spencer she's been stalking you. Your proposal was the stressor.”
“But--I’m a profiler. I would’ve noticed.” I stood up with a realization.            “What Spence?” JJ asked, standing up as well to look at me.
“She’s been stalking her, not me. She knew I was a part of the BAU, she knew I would’ve noticed.”
“I’ll tell the team.”
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/N2:  If this doesn’t totally flop, I’ll write PT 2, that elaborates on the reader’s and Spencer’s relationship. I think through flashbacks from both Y/N and Spencer would be a cool way to explore their relationship and of course the whole reader being kidnapped thing plot could develop. Again, if you enjoyed this pls let me know!!

Chapter 28
Gradually over the summer, your bump started to peek out just a little bit. The bottom of your belly would poke out of your tank tops slightly.
Spencer loved it because it gave him better skin-to-skin contact. He would constantly be rubbing and kissing your tummy while whispering softly to the baby.
He would often visit you in your office for lunch so he could bring whatever you were currently craving. You learned this the hard way once when you packed a chicken caesar wrap for lunch one morning and by the time it got to noon, it made you nauseous just looking at it. Spencer brought you watermelon that day because it was the only thing that sounded good.
You were just finishing up an email when there was a knock at the door.
“It’s open,” you announced.
“Hi, love. How are we doing today?” Spencer inquired.
“Better now that you’re here,” you looked up from your computer to give him a kiss.
“I brought you your fruit salad with extra watermelon and your prenatal vitamins. Also, I don’t know how your stomach is feeling but I would like you to try to have some protein because fruit does not have much sustenance for you and little one. I brought tofu, peanut butter crackers, or a protein bar, whatever you think you can get down,” Spencer unloaded his bag.
“I finished the whole 64 ounce water bottle before noon. Aren’t you proud of me, babe?” you beamed, proudly displaying your empty bottle.
“So proud, I’ll go refill it right now so you can take your vitamins,” Spencer lifted your blouse up and placed a gentle kiss right on your belly button, “Daddy will be right back, little one.”
-
You awoke to the sickly twisting feeling in your stomach and you carefully rose from the bed in an attempt to not upset your stomach any more.
Spencer was up and out of the bed as soon as he heard the first retch. He grabbed a hair elastic and tied your hair back, rubbing soothing circles on your back.
“Spence, I can’t be sick today,” you cried.
“Jo will understand, love. I’ll tell her you are taking care of little one.”
“I don’t want to miss her first day of first grade,” you sobbed into his chest.
“I will facetime you and take so many videos and pictures, you won’t miss a thing,” he promised you.
“I’m going to call you out of work. Then, I’m going to get you some tea, plain crackers, and iced water,” he kissed the top of your head.
“Will you be okay in here by yourself for a little?” he asked quietly.
You sniffled and nodded.
“Okay, shout if you need me. I’m going to go get that stuff for you and wake Jo up.”
“I want to at least say bye to her. I want to see her in her first day outfit,” you insisted.
“Of course, we’ll be back up in a little,” he assured you.
About 15 minutes later, Spencer returned with a tray of just about every drink and food you had been craving for the past week.
“I love you,” you smiled.
“I love you more,” he replied, setting the tray down on your nightstand.
“Mommy, brother or sister is being bad?” Jo asked.
“No, baby,” you motioned for her to climb up on the bed with you, “They are just growing and it is making Mommy a little sick but it’s okay. I’m sorry I can’t drop you off with Daddy today. But luckily, I heard your new teacher is super nice and you have Henry in your class again this year.”
“Bye, Mommy. I’ll miss you,” she hugged you, “Bye, brother or sister,” she waved to your belly.
“Bye, Baby J. I am expecting a full report on everything that happened as soon as you get home,” you smiled.
“I’ll be back in 30,” Spencer helped Jo off the bed, looking at you worriedly.
“Spence, I’ll be fine, don’t worry,” you assured him.
“Call me if anything happens like even if you just think you’re about to throw up, call me,” he insisted.
You nodded, “Have fun!”
-
“There’s my big first grader!” you smiled with open arms.
You were waiting on the couch for Jo and Spencer to come home from pick up time.
“Mommy!” she ran into your arms, “Ms. Moore is so nice. She let us color whatever we wanted for an hour during craft time today and she had a whole bin of dinosaur books in the library. And, me and Henry played on the big kid swings at recess today and I jumped off into the air!” she exclaimed.
“Oh my gosh! What a fun day you had!” you smiled.
“And you didn’t even hear the best news yet, Daddy signed up to be a classroom helper,” she beamed.
“Did he now?” you grinned, turning your attention to Spencer.
“Ms. Moore had the sign-up sheet out at pick-up time. How can I resist spending more time with Jo? I’m going to get lonely when both my girls are at work and school,” he plopped down on the couch and squeezed you both.
-
You couldn’t find a single cute blouse that still fit you that morning. You had to wear an ugly wrinkly gray one from the back of your closet that you bought a while back and hated but never got around to returning. You brushed through your hair quickly and forwent any makeup because you already felt like utter crap.
You would have called out sick but you had an important department meeting today that you had to sit through. Luckily, that meant little to no talking but you just had to pray that your stomach would settle.
At the end of the long day, you went home and changed into sweats. In an attempt to cheer yourself up, you drove to Jo’s school to see Spencer in action. It was his first day as class assistant.
You approached the classroom to see Spencer surrounded by a group of moms. They were all over him, practically swarming him like bees to honey. These were the exact moms that were horrible to you last year. They were all dressed in high heels and skinny jeans, stuff you couldn’t wear anymore.
You turned around and headed back out to the car.
-
Spencer immediately noticed your car wasn’t in the driveway when they got home.
“Love?” Spencer called out, setting his keys on the table when they entered the front door.
No response.
Spencer tried your cell but it rang out.
He immediately had Garcia on the phone next, “Penelope, I need you to track Y/N. She’s not home yet and not answering her cell and I’m worried.”
“Oh, McDonald’s? Okay, yeah thanks. That’s been one of her cravings recently,” Spencer hung up the phone.
“Why did Mommy leave school and now she’s not here?” Jo questioned.
“Mommy wasn’t at school today, Princess. I think you are confused,” Spencer furrowed his brow.
“Daddy, I saw her,” Jo stated.
“Okay, I believe you,” he picked the little girl up and exited the house once again.
-
You didn’t want to be the crazy pregnant lady in a McDonald’s crying with a chocolate milkshake and a large fry but that is who you had become.
You heard the bell chime but you didn’t look up, dipping your next fry into your milkshake.
“Love, what’s wrong?”
Spencer was standing over you, looking very concerned and carrying Jo on his hip.
He set her down and whispered, “How about you go play in the play place for a little, Princess. Daddy will order you a happy meal.”
Jo looked at you with the same amount of concern in her eyes before deciding it was best to just follow what Spencer said. She ran off and Spencer took the seat across from you.
“Do you want to talk about it?” he spoke softly.
“Not particularly,” you took a long sip of your milkshake.
“Jo said she saw you at the school today,” Spencer stated.
It didn’t take a profiler to see the way your face sank even more and you stopped sipping your shake.
“What upset you so much, love? I need to know if I’m going to fix it,” he grabbed your hand and kissed it.
“Nothing fits,” you stated.
“We’ll buy you more maternity clothes,” he replied quickly.
“I look ugly,” you protested.
“Completely and unequivocally false,” he answered sincerely.
“Those moms are going to steal you away from me,” another tear slid down your face.
Spencer’s face softened, he moved from the seat across from you to right next to you.
“You are probably feeling some residual feelings of abandonment because you had to do this alone last time,” Spencer stated softly.
You buried your face into his shoulder as confirmation.
“Love, I am never leaving you or Jo or little one ever again. There’s nowhere else I want to be. This is what makes me happy,” Spencer looked around, “I’d gladly stay in this crusty McDonald’s forever if you and Jo are here.”
Your giggle was muffled by his cardigan.
“That’s what I like to hear,” Spencer smiled, wrapping his arms around you.

 “Doubt thou the stars are fire; Doubt that the sun doth move; Doubt truth to be a liar; But never doubt I love.” - William Shakespeare, Hamlet
***
    February is not, by far, Spencer’s favorite month of the year. It always dredges up horrible memories, ones of looking into Tobias Hankel’s glassy cornflower blue eyes and choking on his own foamy saliva. It’s only been two years since he went into that field, all alone, abandoning protocol and all common sense. It’s only been two years, but even if he doesn’t love February, he does love you.
It’s your first valentine’s day together and Spencer is determined to make it incredible for you. He cannot afford to fall short, he must sweep you off of your feet and hopefully into his bed. He knows deep down that all he’d have to do is ask but he wants to do this romance thing properly and excite you in a way you probably haven’t been in their relationship. If you’re bothered by his inexperience, you haven’t said so and in fact, you’ve shown him over and over again that you adore teaching him how to cuddle, how to kiss, and how to make love.
You are operating under the assumption that your date is going to be low key. It will be, he knows that sparkling, dazzling restaurants with meals you can’t pronounce or pay for isn’t exactly your style. So Spencer is cooking. And it is a disaster.
Murphy’s Law states that everything that can go wrong will most definitely go wrong. So far, it has. Spencer has charred the alfredo sauce, boiled the water over onto the stove, dropped half of the pasta directly into the sink in an attempt to drain it and lightly burned his wrist for good measure. He chalks it up to his nerves. Spencer isn’t a great chef by any means, but he’s never done this badly before. Not even when you were coming over. But now it’s getting to be too late to fix it and you’re going to be here any minute and he doesn’t have any food to offer you.
As if on cue, there’s a soft knock at his front door. He stumbles through the kitchen and flings the door open, startling you where you stand on the other side. You look incredibly gorgeous, with a silky red dress draped across your figure, really emphasizing his favorite parts of you and dipping low in the front, exposing your sternum. He takes your hand and kisses the back of it gently, as if this will make up for his shortcomings on today of all days. You smile so big that your eyes crinkle and throw your arms around his neck. He brushes his nose into your shoulder, taking a deep inhale as he takes you into his arms. Your perfume smells like his favorite candle, a mixture of pomegranate and coconut. You break away  from the embrace just enough to squish his cheeks gently between your palms.
“Hi, handsome,” you mumble, not looking him in the eyes but at his lips and he is happy to oblige you. Kissing you feels like the first time every single time. It makes his heart stammer in his chest and his stomach do backflips and his hands get way sweatier than they should. You press your teeth gently onto his lower lip to indicate that he should open and then you swipe your tongue along the delicate skin.
You break away and Spencer tries to follow you with his mouth, eyes still closed. He only stops when he hears you laugh, like tinkling bells, sparkling and high and pretty. You rub your thumb across his bottom lip and in response, Spencer melts into a puddle of genius goo in his doorway.
“You gonna invite me in, Doc?”
“Oh, right, sorry,” he says, without moving an inch.
Your left eyebrow quirks up and your right one furrows down. “You do realize that you will have to move so I can come in, yes?”
Spencer swallows thickly and side steps so you can brush past him in a flurry of red silk, dark eyelashes and soft perfume. You slide your cardigan-is that his?-down off of your shoulders, revealing the soft skin of your back and shoulders to him. He knows there’s nothing so intimate about skin, but something about the slightly uneven bow you’ve tied to hold the dress up and the memories he has of looking at and touching you is a little much for him.
You turn your head and catch his eye. He sees something devilish, glinting and dancing, just out of reach, and before he can say anything at all, you’re tugging on his tie and dragging him closer to you. He chose his nicest one for the occasion, burgundy, over a crisp, dark brown shirt and a cream colored vest. Penelope had helped him pick the combination out and he’s feeling a little nervous about it now, especially because it’s paired with his just-a-little-too-big khakis. He’s taller than you, even with your heels, so his neck is bent at a slightly awkward angle but he doesn’t really mind at all because your lips are brushing past his and your index finger is hooked firmly into his belt loop.
“What do you say we skip dinner for now?” You purr, almost touching the corner of his mouth with yours. He gives an emphatic nod yes and you run your thumb over his belly before tugging by the belt loop to get him impossibly closer before running your other hand down his chest. With the tightness in his slacks increasing steadily, he latches his hands onto your waist and he kisses you again, this time even more feverishly than before.
You gasp against his mouth as he digs his fingertips into the soft flesh of your hips, and he relishes in the sound. It’s his favorite one, soft and breathy and unmistakable and this time it’s Spencer who’s running his tongue along your lips to ask you to open without using his words. You do and he momentarily loses track of your hands until he finds them again, loosening his tie around his neck. You break away then, just to pant, “As gorgeous as you look right now, this has to come off.”
The heat in Spencer’s belly climbs up to his chest and he knows he’s flushed pink all over from the compliment. It still leaves him entirely shell-shocked to hear that you find him just as attractive as he finds you, so his brain completely pauses every time. He starts back up when you start back to his bedroom, intertwining your fingers with his to guide him with you.
“Wait, wait, just wait out here for just a second,” he says, as he starts to speed walk backwards. You look just a bit confused but you do as he tells you, probably more out of curiosity than anything else. Usually you’re so completely in charge of your jello-kneed boyfriend that he doesn’t even have the brain left to formulate an order.
He only leaves you in the dark for a moment before he pokes his head out of the bedroom and beckons you in. Inside, he’s lit as many candles as he was comfortable with (four) and scattered rose petals across the floor. He gave you flowers earlier today already but there’s another bouquet on his bedside table. You jut out your lower lip just a little and give him those puppy eyes just before you all but tackle him to the bed. His back thumps against his bed just hard enough to wind him a little and your mouth is on his before he can catch his breath again.
He lets out a whine that is higher pitched than he’d care to admit as your core grinds against the crotch of his pants. Your dress has ridden up your thighs and he can see just a peek of your panties, lacy and white and sheer and he’s trying to reach up to untie the dress so he can fully see but you pin his hands down.
“You first, Doc.” He’s fumbling to undo his buttons-why are there so many buttons?- and somehow even though you’re both tugging at his clothes, they aren’t coming off nearly fast enough. And you’re getting a little impatient so you reach up to untie the back of your own dress and tug the front down to expose your breasts. He abandons his own clothing, vest off, shirt half unbuttoned and pants halfway down in favor of taking one of your breasts into his mouth and sucking at your nipple just to hear the sounds you make. He takes the other one in his palm to knead at the soft skin and rests his other hand on the small of your back to pull you as close as physically possible.
You pull away just enough to tug your dress the rest of the way off and he whimpers at the sight of you, naked except for panties clearly damp with arousal, your nipples flushed. You rest your palm on his exposed chest, digging your nails into his skin just hard enough to sting but not hard enough to hurt.
“I-I, I need you. Now. Please?” Spencer breathes and even though he normally would take his time warming you up, getting you stretched, he knows he can’t handle it right now. It’s too good and it’ll be over before you get to the main event. You tug your panties to one side and tug his waistband down to allow his cock, aching and drooling, to peek out. It hits his stomach with a light thwick but he doesn’t even have time to acknowledge it before you’re sinking down on him, hissing at the stretch.
Spencer pulls you in for another kiss, this one sloppy and breathy as you both gasp against each other’s mouths. You roll your hips and he hangs onto you for dear life, groaning so loudly that he feels sorry for his neighbors. It won’t be long. He’s close.
“I’m close, please-” Spencer chokes out.
“I am too, baby, it’s okay, come on,” you groan as you steady yourself even more firmly against his chest. The sounds your bodies are making together are obscene, skin slapping and sliding together.
“I don’t, I’m gonna, we didn’t-” Spencer is trying to tell you that it’s now and he can’t stop it from happening but he’s not wearing a condom but the words keep getting lost from him, his voice thick and heavy.
“It’s okay, I’m on the pill just,” you grab his hand, guiding him to your panties. He knows what you want, so he pulls them even farther, probably stretching them so bad you won’t be able to wear them again, and clumsily thumbs at your clit in that not quite circular motion you like. He feels your orgasm first, pulsing and fluttering around him but then he can’t pay attention to you anymore because he’s spilling over inside of you and stopping you from moving so he can hold you as tightly as he possibly can. He lets his head fall back with his eyes closed for just a moment and you take the opportunity to slide off of his now spent cock and curl into his side, placing a gentle hand on his cheek and stroking it with your thumb.
“I love you,” he mumbles, eyes still closed.
“I love you too.”
“I burned dinner.”
“I know. Do you wanna call in some pizza while I pee?”
“Yeah, sure.” He opens his eyes to look at you, pupils blown, mouth swollen and makeup smeared, and he never ever wants to let you go. You seem to see it in his face, so you kiss his knuckles and say, “I’ll be right back. Then I’m all yours.”

Your head was pounding, and you could feel your body was weak from the torture. How long had you been passed out? The last thing you remembered was a hot poker penetrating your side. There sitting in front of you was the man who would probably haunt your nightmares for forever.
He wore a sickening smile, “Hi.. I was wondering when you would wake up.” He stood up and held a red straw to your lips.
“Fuck you.” You whispered weakly. There was no telling what was in that drink and you weren’t about to find out.
He frowned, “But you’ve made it 28 hours.. only 8 more and you’ll be,” His fingers went to caress your cheek, but you revolted at his touch, “my soulmate.” He said the last word like he was in a loving haze.
You’d made it through 28 hours with this psychopath? You watched as the man went to the storage closet and pulled out multiple instruments and set them on the table next to you. He clicked a button on a remote and the camera in front of you flashed a red button. You figured it was live streaming now and there was a chance the whole world was watching this freak torture you; including Spencer.
Oh, Spencer. Your heart felt overwhelmed at the thought of him. He’d suffered the loss of Maeve and you worried he would never recover. This was probably bringing those terrible emotions back to the surface.
“I have to see if you can withstand more pain.” His voice was behind you and then a knife cutting the ties off your left arm. If you weren’t weak, you’d try to fight him with one hand, but with your injuries suffered so far and the knife still in your leg, there wasn’t much to do.
“I have to see if you’re my soulmate.” His fingers gripped your upper arm, “This might hurt.”
Your breathing increased as you wondered what was next. Your eyes fixated on the camera in front of you and you tried to focus on the one thing that made you happy. The one thing you loved most in this world. Spencer Reid.
It was a trick you’d been taught during your training. You were keeping your mind preoccupied by coming up with various scenes, happy scenes. Spencer’s face crossed your mind and suddenly you were transported to a library. You were sitting across Spencer, books in front of the both of you. You could see him peeking every once and a while to look at you. You knew because you were doing the same thing to him.
 “If you keep staring at me, we aren’t ever going to get this finished.”
His fingers continued to dance across the page as he read and he gave a small smile, “I’m not staring at you.”
“Okay.” You shut your book, amused, “Tell me what you just read.”
His fingers stopped and he knew he’d been caught. He finally looked up at you, “I have no idea what I just read.”
You let out a laugh, “Spencer Reid!” You stood, “We have to finish this paper for Dr. Johnson’s class!” Grabbing the two books on the table, you headed toward a row of library books, “These don’t have what I need.”
In this imaginary world you and Spencer were young, college students. It was a normal life with no danger. No BAU. No cases. Just you and Spencer living a normal life.
“I’m sorry!” He chuckles, standing to follow you. He stops behind you as you put the two books back on the shelves, “how am I supposed to concentrate when I’m in front of the most beautiful girl in this universe?”
You turned around and faced him, “Spencer Reid.”
“y/n y/l/n.” He copied your tone, brushing a piece of hair behind your ear, “I love you.” Those three words. You wanted to hear it again.
“Say it again.” Your fingers wrapped around his wrist as he cupped your cheek.
His other hand cupped your other cheek and subconsciously caressed your cheek with his thumb, “I love you.”
You let out a scream as the man pulled on your arm, dislocating your shoulder from it’s socket. No no.. take me back. Take me back to standing there with Spencer in that library where you heard the words you’d wished he’d confess.
How much more of this could you take? How much more could anyone take? This was an insane amount of pain and all you wanted to do was sleep. You wanted to give up.
You sobbed, finally breaking, “Please stop.. just please.”
“I can’t.” He sighs, “36 hours.” He taps the watch on his wrist.
You were fading, or at least you wanted to fade away. You’d been strong during all this because you knew you’d get to see Spencer again. He’d been the one to keep you going during this, but right now you don’t know how much more you could take. You wanted to make it through this just to be able to tell him how you felt. Your thoughts slowed and the darkness consumed you.
As soon as the live stream was posted, Penelope began working her magic. However, it was still proven to be a challenge on pinpointing the location.
He had to watch as the man pulled your arm out of it’s socket and listen to your screams of agony. He’d kill him. He knew if he’d ever see this man he’d kill him with his own bare hands for harming you in this way, such a public way.
“Please.. please hang on just a bit longer.” He pleaded to the screen.
More disappointment as the live stream cut off when your eyes went closed. You’d passed out from the overwhelming amount of pain and exhaustion.
8 hours later there was another livestream, but this time there wasn’t anyone seated in the chair. You were gone and his mind went to worst. You’d lost the battle.
“I’ve got it! I’ve got the location!” Penelope yelled through the comms, the location immediately sent to everyone’s phone.
There wasn’t time to think as everyone rushed out the door and toward the known location. However, when they arrived, it was Hotch and JJ who went in first. As Spencer followed, Hotch immediately came back out stopping him at the door.
“You don’t need to go in there.”
Spencer was confused, “What? Why not?” He tried to push passed Hotch again and the look on JJ’s face told him everything he needed to know. “Let me see!”
Hotch lost the grip on the determination of Spencer and he passed through the door way. Spencer skitted to a stop at the sight before him. No no no.
His knees his the floor.  This wasn’t happening again, please no. He silently begged. “No! No no!” He couldn’t help the sobs that overcame his body.
There in the middle of the room laying on a blanket where the chair had been was your headless body in a pool of blood.

“The Hogwarts champion…” Dumbledore called and a piece of parchment flew from the flame.
“Cedric Diggory!” He said and everyone cheered. I was cheering the loudest, I was so proud of my older brother.
“Excellent! We now have our three champions! But in the end only one will go down in history. Only one will hoist this chalice of champions, this vessel of victory the Tri-Wizard cup!” Once again people cheered, but the goblet glowed red once again and another singed parchment flew out. Everyone quieted down as Dumbledore grabbed the parchment and read it.
“Harry Potter.” He said in a hushed tone, but everyone could hear because of how silent the room was.
“Harry Potter?” He called louder.
“No...no!” Hagrid expressed.
“Harry Potter!” Dumbledore shouted. Everyone watched in shock as Harry slowly walked up to the front. Dumbledore gave him the parchment and people started shouting in anger.
“He’s a cheat! He’s not even seventeen yet!” Someone shouted. My boyfriend Draco was very upset by this. He couldn’t believe Harry was once again being the center of attention. However, he wasn’t the only one. Everyone seemed to be upset that Harry was also a champion. This obviously pleased Draco.
As much as I liked Harry and he was my friend, Cedric was my brother and I was going to fully cheer for him. The first challenge was to retrieve a golden egg from a dragon. Each competitor was getting a different dragon and I hoped with all my heart that Cedric would be alright. I watched as they brought out a Swedish Short-Snout with the golden egg in place. A cannon went off and everyone watched to see who was first. Cedric walked out and everyone from Hogwarts cheered, just about the whole school was cheering for him. I watched my brother take in his surroundings and he smiled at me. The dragon screamed which brought his attention back to it. He thought quickly and used a Transfiguration spell to change one of the rocks into a dog. The dog barked and brought the dragon’s attention away from my brother. Cedric went for the egg, but the dragon was smart and moved his attention back to him. The dragon shot fire towards him and it hit him in the face.
“Cedric!” I shouted, fear clear in my voice. Draco pulled me towards him and held me tightly. Cedric didn’t let that stop him and he retrieved the egg. Everyone cheered and they got the dragon under control. Cedric was taken to the hospital wing and Draco and pulled me along to see him.
The second task was after the Yule Ball, which was a break my brother needed after being burned. Luckily he was alright, but I realized how dangerous these tasks really were. All four of the champions stood at the edge of the platform on the Black Lake. They were told they had to retrieve something that was stolen from them. All four of them jumped into the lake and none of us could really see what was happening beneath the surface. Cedric returned first with his girlfriend Cho. Hogwarts students erupted in cheers when he raised above the water. The two swam to the platform and were pulled up onto it. I hugged Draco and rushed down to my brother. He was first and safe!
Like the second task, no one knew what was happening during the final task. All four champions had to go into a maze and one would return as the Champion. Cedric and Harry both got a head start since they tied for first last task. The cannon rang and they were off into the maze.
“Go Cedric!” I cheered as he jogged inside. He turned back to me with a smile as the bushes closed behind him. It wasn’t long before the other two champions joined them in the maze. However it felt like forever until someone returned with the cup. It turned out to be Harry and people cheered. I also cheered for my friend, but my cheers died in my throat as I noticed what he was hunched over.
“Cedric?” I whispered, catching Draco’s attention. Tears formed in my eyes and I ran down to see my brother. Our Father pushed his way through and he cried, falling to his knees beside him.
“Cedric?” I asked, also dropping down next to him. I gently shook him, denying that he was dead.
“Ced? Come on, this isn’t funny!” I cried and shook him a little rough.
“Y/N, love, he’s not asleep…” Draco said quietly, trying to pull me away.
“N-No… No! He can’t be!” I cried.
“How did this happen?” I asked, turning to Harry.
“Voldemort, he’s back. He killed him.” Harry cried and my eyes widened. That monster killed my brother… Draco pulled me to him as I cried harder.
I knew that was the start of the war. That wasn’t the year it really started, but that was the year people’s fear really set in. The real start of the war started the summer before year seven. After Cedric died Harry made sure to watch after me. He told me it was my brother’s wish to watch after me. The first few months I didn’t want to be near Harry, but I realized it wasn’t his fault. That’s why when I found out Draco had taken his mark, I ran right to Harry. He became very protective of me after that, but I never actually broke things off with Draco. I still loved him, despite the choice he made.
Harry took me with Hermione and Ron on his quest to find all the horcruxes. A task given to him before Dumbledore was killed by Snape. Harry told me about how Draco was meant to do it, but couldn’t. I wanted to send him a letter, but that would put us all in jeopardy. However, after a scary meeting with Luna’s Father we apparated somewhere safer.
“They’ve kidnapped Luna because he supported me. He was just desperate.” Harry reasoned. No one said anything as we all got off the ground.
“I’ll do the enchantments.” Ron said, taking his wand out. Hermione stopped him, her eyes glanced at the trees and her breathing stopped. The three of us looked the same way she was and our eyes widened. Snatchers came from behind the trees and had smirks on their faces. One of them had Hermione’s scarf around his neck and smelled it.
“Hello, beautiful.” He said, it was Scabior. All four of us started running, splitting off from one another hoping we wouldn’t get caught. I was unfortunately clumsy and tripped on a tree root, which led to me being caught. The man roughly pulled me to my feet, took my wand, and dragged me with him. We entered a clearing and I was shoved to the ground. Ron was pulled along and also shoved to the ground by another snatcher. Hermione and a messed up looking Harry were already there, now surrounded by snatchers. Scabior took their wands.
“Don’t touch her!” Ron shouted and Grayback punched him.
“Stop it!” Hermione begged.
“Your boyfriend’ll get worse than that if he doesn't behave, lovely.” Scabior said, painting her face with the light from his wand. He turned it towards Harry, it made it really clear how messed up his face actually was.
“What happened to you, ugly?” He asked. Harry felt his face and now realized what happened.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“Dudely. Vernon Dudley.” Harry answered.
“Check the list. And you, ginger?” He asked Ron.
“Stan Shunpile.” Ron lied.
“Like ‘ell you are. We know skinny Stan. Try again.” He said and Grayback, who was holding Ron down pressed his boot into his neck.
“Weasley… Barney Weasley.” He strained out.
“Weasley, eh? Wouldn’t be related to that blood traitor Arthur Weasley, would you?” He asked.
“Piss off! Arthur Weasley’s ten times the wizard you are!” Ron growled.
“Worth ten times you if I can find him. Wasn’t you that tipped him off, was it?” He asked. Ron said nothing and the man turned his attention to me.
“How ‘bout you? What’s your name?” He asked.
“June Hazel.” I lied.
“Pretty name, but don’t fit your face.” He said and turned to Hermione.
“Penelope Clearwater. Half-blood.” She answered. He took her hair in his hand and sniffed it.
“You smell like vanilla, Penelope. I think you’re going to be my favorite.” He said.
“I call this one. She smells like strawberries.” The man that grabbed me pulled me up and sniffed my hair. I gulped and held my breath, tears brimming my eyes.
“There’s no Vernon Dudley on ‘ere.” Another snatcher said. Scabior turned his attention to Harry.
“Hear that, ugly? The list says you’re lying. How come you don’t want us to know who you are? Hm?” He asked.
“The list is wrong. I told you who I am-” Scabior put his finger to Harry’s lips, stopping Harry from continuing. His want was probing Harry’s face.
“Change of plans, boy. We won’t be taking this lot to the Ministry.” He said after a moment. Each one grabbed us, taking out stuff from us as well. They apperated us and suddenly we were at Malfoy Manor…
Scabior and the others took us past the yew hedges. All of us were scared about what was waiting for us inside the dark looking house. We started slowing down as we neared the gate. Bellatrix, Lucius, and Narcissa Malfoy were on the other side. Scabior grabbed Harry by the arm and pushed his face up against the iron bars. Bellatrix stepped closer.
“Show me.” She said. Scabior reached up and pushed Harry’s hair off his forehead. Bellatrix pointed her wand, illuminating his face. Slowly a creepy smile appeared on her face. The four of us were taken inside and Bellatrix took Harry. She pushed him down to his knees and waited for Narcissa to return with Draco. He walked into the room with his Mother and my heart clenched. His eyes widened when he saw me.
“Draco!” His Aunt called, snapping both of us out of our haze. Draco walked towards his Aunt and she pulled Harry up by his hair.
“Well?” She asked with a hopeful smile.
“I can’t be sure.” Draco answered after a moment.
“Look closely son, if we are the ones to hand Potter over to the Dark Lord, everything would be forgiven, all would be as it was, understand?” Lucius said and you could tell they were all scared, but especially Draco.
“Now we won’t be forgettin who actually caught him. I hope, Mr. Malfoy.” Scabior said.
“You dare to talk to me like that in my own house!” Lucius shouted.
“Lucius!” Narcissa scolded him in a whisper and pulled him away from Draco.
“Don’t be shy, sweetie. Come over.” His Aunt grabbed his hand and pulled him towards Harry. Draco kneeled in front of him and I bit my lip. Please don’t give him up Draco…
“Now, if this isn’t who we think it is, Draco, and we call him, he’ll kill us all. We need to be absolutely sure.” Bellatrix said.
“What’s wrong with his face?” Draco asked after a moment of studying Harry.
“Yes, what is wrong with his face?” Bellatrix asked Scabior.
“He came to us like that. Somethin’ he picked up in the forest I reckon.” Scabior answered.
“Or ran into a stinging jinx. Was it you dearie?” Bellatrix asked Hermione, walking over to us.
“Give me her wand, we’ll see what her last spell was.” She said. The three of us looked worried and Bellatrix laughed.
“Got you.” She said and turned her attention to the snatcher with our wands.
“What is that?” She asked when she looked at him.
“Where’d you get that from?” She asked him, referring to the sword.
“It was in that one’s bag when we searched her, reckon it’s mine now.” He said pointing at me with a smirk. Bellatrix went crazy and started choking the snatchers, making them let go of us. She took the sword as everyone looked on confused and scared.
“Out! Go!” She shouted at them letting her spells fall. The snatchers ran out, fearing for their lives.
“Sissy, put the boys and this one in the cellar! I want to have a conversation with this one! Girl to girl!” She shouted and grabbed me. Harry, Ron, and Hermione were dragged down to the cellar by Narcissa and Wormtail. She pushed me onto the floor and got on top of me.
“That sword is meant to be in my vault in Gringotts. How did you get it?” She hissed.
“What else did you and your friends take from my vault!?” She shouted.
“We didn’t take anything! Please!  We didn’t take anything!” I begged, crying.
“I don’t believe you.” She said and moved to my arm, carving something into it with her sharp knife.
“No! Please! We didn’t take anything!” I screamed in pain.
“Stop it!” Draco shouted and they turned to me.
“She said she didn’t take anything, leave her alone!” He said.
“Draco?” His Mother questioned with a kind, yet waring tone.
“You care for this one, don’t you?” Bellatrix asked with a smirk.
“Please, just stop.” Draco begged, his eyes never leaving me.
“Who is she?” His Aunt asked.
“She’s my girlfriend…” He admitted.
“Is she-”
“Yes, she’s a Pure-blood, please let her go.” He begged, cutting his Father off.
“What’s her family name?” Lucius asked.
“Diggory.” He answered.
“A Hufflepuff? Are you Mad? She-”
“Let her go Bellatrix.” Narcissa said, cutting her husband off.
“But they were in my vault!” She shouted.
“Question the goblin then, let her go.” She said, standing her ground. Bellatrix got off me and Draco rushed to help me up. He pulled me off to the side with his parents and sat me in one of the chairs.
“You’re alright, love.” He whispered as he held me. Ron, Hermione, and Harry suddenly came up the stairs and got Bellatrix’s wand from her. The three of them started fighting with the Malfoys. Bellatrix grabbed me and held her knife to my throat.
“Stop!” She shouted and everyone looked our way.
“Drop your wands. I said drop em!” She shouted. The three dropped their wands and everyone was still staring at us.
“Draco, grab em.” She said and he did as he was told.
“Well, well, well, look what we have here.” She said, walking closer with her knife still at my throat.
“It’s Harry Potter.” She said in my ear, but it was loud enough for everyone to hear.
“He’s all bright, and shiny, and new again.” She said as Harry’s face turned back to normal.
“Just in time for the Dark Lord.” She said.
“Call him.” She said, but no one moved.
“Call him!” She said again, but louder. Draco stayed in his place, so his Father stepped up and revealed his dark mark. He went to call him, but an odd squeaking started happening. Everyone looked up and Dobby was sitting atop the chandelier undoing a screw or something. It suddenly dropped and she pushed me as she ran back to avoid getting hit. I fell to the ground as Ron grabbed Hermione and Harry went to get their wands. Once Draco lost the small battle with Harry he rushed over to me.
“Are you alright?” He asked as Lucius was shot back by Harry.
“I’m fine…” I whispered.
“Stupid elf, you could have killed me!” Bellatrix shouted.
“Dobby never meant to kill. He only meant to maim or seriously injure.” He said. Narcissa went to shoot a spell at them, but Dobby snapped his fingers and her wand was then in his hands. While everyone was distracted by what Dobby did, Draco pulled me up and out of the room. He took me up to his room and sat me on his bed.
“Let me see your arm, love.” He whispered. I showed him and saw she had carved ‘Blood Traitor’ into my arm. Tears welled in my eyes as I noticed the blood still falling from my fresh mark.
“Hey, look at me, it’s not true.” He said, gently caressing my face.
“But it is though, you know it is.” I whispered.
“No, not here it isn’t. You can’t let them see that side of you. If I want to keep you safe I either have to let you go or ask you to do something you might never forgive yourself, or me for that matter, for.” He said, his voice breaking.
“B-But I can’t bear to let you go again. I thought I lost you when I told you the truth…” He whispered.
“W-What do I have to do to stay?” I whispered. He looked at me with wide eyes.
“You’d have to take his mark…” He whispered. My heart stopped, but I didn’t know where Harry and the others were. It was either stay with Draco or go out alone…
“If it means I get to stay with you then I will…” I answered.
“Love, this is serious. I can get you out of here without anyone knowing all you have to do-” I cut him off with a kiss.
“I can’t lose you again either. I thought you were dead this whole time, I can’t go through that again.” I said, resting my forehead on his.
“You’ll never forgive me…” He said, letting his tears fall.
“I’ll always forgive you. I love you Draco Malfoy.” I said. Draco pulled me in for a gentle and loving kiss. Something we both desperately needed.
“I promise, when all this is over I’m going to get you a ring and give you the perfect life you deserve.” He said and I smiled.
“As long as you’re in my life, it is perfect.” I said and pecked his lips again. No matter what happens, as long as I still have Draco still in my life everything will be alright. He was the only thing I had left. He was the only one I really needed.

Agree to No Promises
Tumblr media
A/N: I absolutely loved writing this, thank you for requesting!
Warnings: mistakes, angst, fluff, mentions of kidnapping (nothing gory), and language. fem!reader.
Word Count: 4.5k
Requests:
i have a spence request!! you know that one scene where he says “this is calm, and it’s doctor”. i want a whole fic of that kind of aggressive spence in which he defends the readers honour to the rest of the BAU people, maybe she makes a call that’s risky for her own safety and the others are calling her out on it and spence gets defensive and morgan is like “calm down kid” or it can be whoever and THEN HE SAYS THAT LINE I WOULD DIE ❤️❤️
actually, some enemies to lovers with spencer would be great if they work at the bau together and for years they don’t get along and bicker and the reader knows she’s in love with spencer but doesn’t have a chance and he finds out while they’re arguing
~~~~~
You wanted to punch Spencer in the face. You wanted to shut him up, and you felt in that moment - punching him would be the perfect way to do so. But no. Your brain was not listening to what you wanted, and instead what your heart wanted, but you could not afford that right now.
When you think of Spencer Reid, you think tall, skinny, uncoordinated, annoying, rude and cocky. You can’t stand the way he looks at you, or the way his hair falls over his eyes, and even the fact that a grown-ass man never wears matching socks. You also don’t like the fact that he always seems to be right, even when you wish he wasn’t.
According to Spencer, you were no walk in the park either. He hates that you’re so dramatic, and that you’re so hell-bent on proving yourself right. He hates that you never listen to anything he tells you, and how you act like nothing can ever get to you no matter what it is.
When Spencer thinks of you, he thinks she’s self-righteous, and that you have this stupid hero complex that you need to get over.
_
“L/N.”
“Reid.” You greeted with just as much hostility.
Even on the plane, you both seemed to successfully make eachother mad. The team always noticed the rigidness between you two, and had even asked about the elephant in the room multiple times, but the only thing you two had seemed to come up with to explain your behavior - which you both had ironically subconsciously agreed on, was that, “It’s not my fault he/she is impossible.”
On countless random occasions, the team had tried to help fix whatever bad blood was spilled between you, but you two never caved in and instead insisted on the fact that, “nothing could be done,” to fix the unyielding tension if the other wasn’t going to change.
After they went over the ins and outs and asked the necessary questions of the case like usual, Hotch began to put the team into pairs to send them on their individual assignments.
“Prentiss, Morgan, I need you to go to the morgue and see if there’s anything significant other than the ligature marks.”
They nodded.
“JJ, Rossi, I need you to go visit the victim’s families and see if there’s anything you can find that ties these murders together. Like we said, probably not, but it doesn’t hurt to look.”
“Of course.” JJ answers.
“Y/N, and Reid I need you two to go to the most recent scene and tell us what you find there. I’ll meet you there after I check in with the locals.”
Both you and Spencer looked absolutely offended, and you both collectively tried to come up with any reason in the books so that you would not be paired together.
“But surely-” you tried to reason.
“No.” Hotch interrupted.
“But I should -” Reid began to bargain.
Hotch interrupted once again with a cold stare, and an even colder if not snarky, “No.”
Yours and Spencer’s eyes met for a brief moment before you both decided to give up defeatedly, and roll your eyes at one another.
The team had noticed the interaction between the two of you once more and they couldn’t decide if they wanted to laugh at your childish actions, or if they wanted  to shake their heads in annoyance and say something about your behavior.
They chose the latter and ignored the both of you.
Once you had landed, and before the team all went their separate ways, Hotch told both you and Spencer to behave.
“No promises.” you replied opening the driver door to the black SUV that awaited the both of you to ride in.
Hotch gave you a  harsh glare.
“I’m joking Hotch.” you smile. “It’s a joke.”
Nodding, he walks away and gets into a car of his own with the local police department. Spencer gets in the passenger seat and immediately if not frantically, puts on his seatbelt.
You chose to ignore his actions, turned on the ignition, and drove out of the parking lot.
“Uhm, are you sure you should be driving?” Spencer asks eyebrows furrowed.
“Excuse me?”
“I mean since -”
“You misogynistic prick!” you practically shout, now pissed.
“You’re wrist.” Spencer nods towards your hand. “You were complaining earlier about how it was cramped and all.”
“What do you care?”
“Well, ya’know. I wouldn’t want it going out, and I don’t know, kill the both of us because you weren’t careful.”
“You’re a jerk Spencer Reid.” you shake your head not taking your eyes off the road. “You ever shut up?”
“I could ask the same Y/N L/N.”
-
Your relationship with Spencer has been this way since the day you arrived.
“Everyone, meet agent L/N.” Hotch introduces you. “Y/N, meet Penelope Garcia, Jennifer Jareau, David Rossi, Emily Prentiss, and Spencer Reid.”
You waved at everyone and said a quick “hello,” before sitting in the empty seat right across from Spencer Reid.
Unbeknownst to you, Spencer had done a little back up check on you before you had even arrived. Your record was crystal clear, you had done nothing wrong, your parents were alive and well, and it seemed as though you had been through nothing traumatic and this shocked Spencer.
No one’s record was this clear, which meant you were hiding something. Because of this, he could not trust you.
Instead of asking you himself, he decided to just ignore you and act rude until he got the answers he wanted. Perhaps this was you’d feel the need to tell the truth - whatever that was.
_
“I’m sorry, did I do something to offend you?” You had asked once.
You had barely been at the Bureau a day and already you had seemingly made an enemy, which sucked because from what you’ve heard Spencer was the sweetest one there, and by the looks of it, definitely the cutest.
“No, you did nothing.”
“Okay.”
_
You don’t remember what he was talking about, but Spencer was ranting and that was one of your favorite things about him - just the way he could talk on and on and on about anything.
His voice itself made you want to swoon, but everytime he spoke to you, he always seemed disinterested, and you hated that
_
You got on Spencer’s last nerve. How did you seem so perfect? You were beautiful inside and out, and he didn’t understand it. There were days where he literally just wanted to talk to you to hear your voice, and he wanted to just ramble on and on and on to you about everything, but everytime he stopped himself.
He reminded himself that you were suspicious, and besides - with your beauty, who knew how many men you’ve been with.
He didn’t feel like getting his heart broken anytime soon.
_
You gave him a couple of weeks - a month and a half - to warm up to you, and still nothing.
His attitude had got nothing but worse towards you, which was confusing because when you saw him interact with anyone else, he was an absolute sweetheart.
“Why do you treat me this way?”
He ignored you.
“Fine.” You had grown impatient. “Don’t say I never tried Spencer.”
And you walked away.
_
You were no longer going to take the way he gave you the cold shoulder and the way he talked to you, so from that day forward you had done to him the same way he had done to you.
You gave him the cold shoulder, and acted annoyed whenever he spoke to you.
This had become routine for the both of you. So much of a routine, that you both had forgotten why you hated each other in the first place.
After awhile, all Spencer knew was that he couldn’t get your condescending voice out of his head, and even when he told himself that you weren’t, you were the prettiest girl he had ever seen.
_
Everyday was a struggle to get eachother out of your heads. It seemed as though no one but that small voice in your heads knew you were secretly pining for each other, and that “hatred,” was covering up something much, much bigger, but there’s doubt you’ll be uncovering anything any time soon.
There were nights where you laid in bed just thinking about him, and times you cried yourself to sleep because at some point you realized you were in love with him, but you knew he would never ever feel the same, and that’s what hurt you the most.
_
“Excellent work guys.” Hotch compliments. “We’ll pick this up in the morning.”
The team had come together, and gathered a significant amount of information about the unsub, but it was late, and everyone needed a good night’s sleep for fresh minds the next day.
Unfortunately, roommates were the team members you were paired with earlier that day, so you were stuck sharing a room with Reid.
You huffed and through your bag on the bed. The last person you wanted to share a room with was Spencer Reid. At least you didn’t have to share a bed.
Putting a fake smile on your face, you turned to him and asked, “So are you taking a shower first or am I?”
“I’ll take mine in the morning.” he answered shortly, seemingly unbothered.
“Okay, fine. Whatever.” you replied, kind of hurt.
A hot shower should do it for you. You brought your bag into the shower, and got ready to relax under the steaming water. You rubbed your hands across your face because honestly - you were stressed. Arguing with Spencer on a daily basis was just…tiring. Sometimes you wished you knew why he hated you so much, but you knew the man wouldn’t ever tell you.
You opened your eyes, and you looked around the shower for your shampoo, but on the wall right above it was a spider.
“Shit!! Oh my God!!” You jumped out of the shower as quickly as you could, wrapped a towel around your body, and just about flew out of the bathroom.
Spencer looked up hurriedly and jumped out of his seat, in fear that you were hurt.
“What the hell? Are you okay?”
“No!” you huffed. “There’s a spider in the shower!”
His face was now a serious Hotch-like face. “Are you serious right now?”
“Yes!”
Spencer walked into the bathroom and checked for the spider. He was now just as confused as ever.
“This is just a wolf spider,” he sighed, bringing it into the room in a cup with a napkin covering it. “There’s nothing to be afraid of.”
“What the fuck Spencer, what are you DOING?”
He looked at you, and then the towel around you and his nostrils flared. You were practically naked - as the only thing between the two of you was a flimsy hotel towel. He had to get out of there, so instead of answering you, he left the room and went to go free the arachnid.
Once he was outside, and had freed the spider, he took a few breaths. He was  frustrated. Absolutely frustrated, and he wasn’t sure what to do. All he saw now was that towel wrapped around your wet body and he hated the way his stomach clenched everytime he thought about that stupid towel and how easily it could have fallen and how he would have been able to -
No. He must not think this way about you. Not only was it incredibly inappropriate considering you were his coworker, but he had to keep up his, “I can’t stand her,” persona.
When he got back to the room, you were, he assumed, finished showering, and you were sitting on your bed in a pair of shorts and a tight fitted tank top leaving little to nothing of your figure to the imagination.
Of course, he was now incredibly irritated because you were real, and this wasn’t just one of his many dreams starring you where you two were using your mouths for a little something other than argue.
You had watched Spencer go into the bathroom, and you audibly let out a breath. He had said nothing to you, yet the way he looked at you made your heart and lower stomach go into a fucking frenzy.
When he got out, he was dressed in just a regular t-shirt and basketball shorts.  You practically swooned. You had never seen him in anything other than his usual work attire, and you regrettably loved this look on him.
You shouldn’t have been thinking this way about him.
He hated you. How could anything ever happen if he was furious with you for every little thing you did?
“You know what I don’t understand?” Spencer asked climbing into his bed and turning the light off on his side.
“What?”
You did the same so now you both were laying in the darkness.
“How do you face serial killers almost every single day, and you’re afraid of spiders?”
“Same way you’re afraid of elevator crashes I suppose.”
“But death by spiders are extremely rare - that spider was harmless.”
“I’m not afraid of getting killed by a spider, they’re just hideous.”
He laughed and said, “Yeah, well I’m sure they find you hideous as well.”
You both went to sleep with giddy smiles on your faces.
_
The next day went by pretty smoothly, and ever since the night in the hotel, Spencer had seemed a little less hostile towards you. You couldn’t help but wonder why. What changed?
Anyway, just like the day before, you were paired with Spencer, mostly indoors working on the board. Collectively you two had noticed some pretty interesting details, and you both realized you worked well together.
Soon after you gave a profile to the locals, Hotch told you and Spencer to follow a lead to a suspect’s home. You had knocked on the door, and nothing. You checked the front yard, backyard, and nothing.
It wasn’t until you checked inside a kids’ clubhouse, that you had found a secret trap door hidden underneath.
“Reid, call the team.”
He did, and once he was sure they were on their way, he helped you move the playhouse over so that you could open the door.
Once he opened it, all you two heard were sobs and the unsub yelling. You went down even after Spencer told you not to, and you saw the girl tied to a chair with a gun pointed to her head.
When the unsub saw you, a guy named Fred you believe, he changed directions, and held the gun out in front of him straight at your head.
“Fred? Hey. I’m Y/N L/N and I’ve come to help.”
“H-h-h-help? H-h-h-how can can y-you he-he-help?”
On your way over to this house, Garcia called and told you and Spencer that Fred had autism and, because of this he was like a child, he didn’t know what he was doing.
“Well Freddie,” you paused and looked him in his eyes, “May I call you Freddie?”
He nods quickly.
“Well the FBI is out there,” you heard the sirens a moment earlier, “and they’re upset that you took this girl. They might hurt you.”
“But I-I-I-I like h-h-her.”
You heard someone try to come down, and you yelled, “No!” which made all noises stop. “Do not come down here!”
Fred was scared, and confused, and he didn’t know what to do. All you could see was that the girl continued to cry, and he held his gin tighter.
You put up your hands dropping your gun, and this made him trust you a little bit more.
“Do you like me, Freddie?”
He nods enthusiastically.
“So, how about you let this girl go, and take me instead?”
“L-let her go?”
“Yes, Freddie, let her go and you can have me.” You were trying not to shake. “Can I untie her?”
“Yes.” he says and follows your movements with his gun. You walk slowly over to the girl, and untie her quickly. “When you go up there, tell them not to shoot. Tell them that the man is more unstable than we thought, okay?” She nods tears streaming down her face, and runs towards the latter.
_
Spencer was freaking out. He was pacing, and his heart was racing, and everytime he sat down his legs wouldn’t stop moving, and he didn’t know what to do with himself. He had cried, almost pulled out his hair, crumpled up papers in frustration and had yelled at almost every single one of his team members.
How could he have let this happen to you? He should have gone instead of you. He should have gone with you, he should have stopped you or something.
And on top of this, he always been an absolute prick to you, when deep down he felt the opposite and all he wanted to do was kiss you and tell you how he felt but now you were gone and he didn’t know if he was getting you back, and all he did know was that his heart hurt and all he wanted to do was just see you.
Just see you.
_
You had woken up tied to a chair in a child’s bedroom.
You tried to untie or loosen the ropes, but it was no use - they were way too tight.
Fred came into the room with a tray of food for you, and he looked at you almost sadly.
“Freddie, you know they’re looking for you, right?
“I-I-I know.”
“So what’s going to happen when they do find you? You’ll kill me?”
He gasped and covered his mouth. “I could never hurt you!”
“But you hurt those other girls, Freddie.”
“Th-th-those g-girls hurt me. You’re r-re-really n-nice to me. I wouldn’t hurt you.”
You tried to smile, but all that came out was tears. You were scared to death and you had no idea what made you make the decisions you made.
“Oh, no Y/N p-please do-don’t cry.”
“Freddie these ropes really hurt, can you take them off?”
“But you’ll leave m-me.”
“Freddie, I won’t leave you, I promise okay?
_
They had a location. They knew where you were. Spencer couldn’t have been happier.
Soon enough the team had found the house, and quietly came into the house. Morgan saw you first, relieved you were okay, and you silently told him that Fred was upstairs. He nodded and let the officers up there to make the arrest. You ran outside tears running down your face, and as soon as Spencer sees you, he runs up to you hugging you tightly. You wrap your arms around his neck and sob into his shoulder.
“Y/N are you okay? Are you hurt?” He says checking you as he pushes you away from him checking for any scratch or scar or anything.
“No, I’m - I’m alright.”
“Good.” he says, getting serious now. “Then explain to me why you would do something so incredibly stupid? We were all worried about you.”
“You were worried about me?”
He shakes his head and tries not to show how angry he was with you for leaving him. Instead of answering, he walks away.
He walks away because if he stayed, he would have kissed you, and he can’t -
He just can’t.
If he shows you that he cares, you just might hurt him and sometimes it’s easier to just shut you out, than get used to you being around and then leave him. He doesn’t want you to know how much you could hurt him if he let you in.
So he pushes you away.
_
After everyone greeted you, and asked if you were okay, and the doctors checked you out, you were all on the plane home.
You kind of just distanced yourself from everyone because all the team seemed to do was patronize you.
“That was a huge risk Y/N, did you even think about what you were doing?” Emily asked.
“Honestly, what if it didn’t work L/N? What about the girl?” Morgan said, shaking his head.
“You could have gotten severely injured Y/N, we’re just trying to look out for you.” JJ tried to reassure you.
Everytime you tried to explain yourself, you were bombarded with another stupid question, which caused silent tears to fall down you face. Spencer saw this, and he decided he had had enough with everyone.
“You guys act like you had never made a decision like this in your entire career. At the end of the day, everyone made it out alright, and I’m sure Y/N has learned her lesson, but you guys humiliating her doesn’t help at all. Think about what she’s just been through. Just for a second can you think about how she’s feeling right now?” He sighed. “This is the first time Y/N has dones something like this and you all are giving her the third degree. So just stop.”
“Hey, calm down Reid, It’s not that we -”
“This is calm Morgan, and it’s doctor.”
With that being said Spencer moved to the back of the plane, and sat across from you. You both said nothing, but you silently thanked him.
_
Once you were back at the BAU, Hotch told him he wanted you to take some time off, and you understood. The team left avoiding both you and Spencer, mostly because of what he said on the plane, and they weren’t sure what to do now.
“Reid, can I talk to you?” He was packing up to go home, you two were the only ones left on this floor.
“Yes?”
“Why did you do that - on the plane I mean. Why would you stick up for me?”
He shrugged, basically ignoring you. Just right where you thought you were getting through to him, he closes himself back up again, and goes back to being mean to you.
“Fine. Whatever. Just please don’t do that again. I don’t need your help.”
You were walking away, when he decided to argue back.
“Oh you don’t? So you'd  just would have wanted them to keep patronizing you? Honestly, I don’t see what your problem is Y/N, goodnight.”
And he was walking towards the door. You ran out in front of him blocking him from leaving.
“My problem?” You scoff. “Oh I’ll tell you what my problem is. I don’t need your saving. I don’t need you to come in like a knight on his steed and prove that you’re smarter than me every single time. Because yes, you’re smarter, and yes, you’re a doctor, and yes, I know you dislike me for some reason, but don’t go switching up your attitude if something happens to me. Just leave me alone.
Obviously you don’t know what it feels like to be me, otherwise you would know that the worst pain there is, is being in love with someone who just hates you. So, just stop. Please, just stop.”
And once you said what you needed to, you walked off gathering your things so that you could go home too. You felt like crying, but you couldn’t. Not here. You couldn’t believe you just said what you did.
Despite what he wanted, he stood frozen in place. He was conflicted. He didn’t know what to do. His mind was telling him to do one thing, while his heart told him to do another.
He took quick strides over to your desk, and turned your body gently so that you were facing him, and you were basically trapped between him and your desk behind you.
“I couldn’t save you.” He began. “I was with you, and then I wasn’t and I couldn’t help you. You were doing that stupid heroic shit you tend to do, and I wasn’t there to help you. You were hurting, and it hurt me that I wasn’t there to heal you. And believe me, it keeps me awake at night when I think about the way I treat you, and I’m sorry, I am. I’m sorry if you felt like I hated you, because believe me, I don’t.
There is nothing to hate about you other than the fact that you’re just so goddamn perfect and I know I could never have you, and even if I did, I would give all of me to you, and that scares me. It scares me that I would be so willing to hand my heart over to you, and it scares me that you have all this power over me. It hurts that you have the power to torture me, so yes, I push you away, and I’m sorry I care about you, but I just, I just-”
And this was that moment.
That moment where your head told you to punch him, because God knows you wanted to, but your heart told you to just swallow all of that angst and just give yourself to him.
To tell him with your lips that you felt the same, and just leave all the arguing behind.
But something was -
You didn’t hate him. And he just confessed that he didn’t hate you, and now his face was under your fingertips, and your lips were on his. Tears were falling, you weren’t sure if they were yours or his, but he was kissing you back and his arms wrapped around your waist, and you felt like you were on fire. Your hands were now tangled in his hair, and his hands caressed your sides. He had brought you closer to him, and through this kiss you both felt all the so-called, “hatred,” and, “dislike,” evaporate into thin air.
He pulled away from you, and you wiped away his tears.
“I’m so sorry Y/N, you didn’t deserve what I did to you. None of it. If I could take it all back, I would. I’ll make it up to you, I promise I will.”
“You’re such a boy Spencer Reid.” You say.
“What?” He’s confused.
“Mother’s tell their little girls that when boys are mean to them, that they must like them, and that’s why they’re acting that way.”
“Well that’s not very healthy. That tells those little girls that when a man hits them, or is crude towards them, that that’s perfectly normal and that they should just take it because the man loves them.”
“Well true,” Spencer was still holding you, and you went on “but the point was that you must have really liked me since you were so mean to me.”
“I mean, sure. But I don’t see why a mother would -”
“Hey, agree to disagree, okay?”
_
A month or so passed, and the team noticed a huge shift. You and Spencer were no longer arguing constantly, well, of course there were disagreements and such, but you two didn’t act like you hated each other.
“Promise me you’ll stop trying to be the hero.” Spencer told you once.
“No promises.”
Because if you weren’t the hero, you wouldn’t have saved the girl, wouldn’t have gotten Fred help, wouldn’t have the arrogant prince turned good, and you wouldn’t have agreed to disagree.
Today was like any other day.
You woke up at your usual time to the sound of your alarm. You had coffee, and a quick bite to eat while aimlessly scrolling through the social media apps on your phone. You showered, brushed your teeth, got dressed, did your makeup. And when it was time to leave, you walked out the front door locking it behind you, hopped in your car, and drove to work.
Today was like any other day. Except that it wasn’t.
Today wasn't like any other day because while you carried out all of your menial morning tasks, you felt a little heavier. Rather your hand did.
It was your birthday a couple of days ago. And while you had planned to spend with your boyfriend, Ethan, the universe had other plans and you were stuck out of town on a case. You weren’t mad about it, it was your job after all, and Ethan understood. His work hours were also unreliable.
Plus you got to celebrate with the other people that mattered the most to you in world; your team. It may have not been they day you had envisioned, because who wants to spend their birthday at a gloomy prescient looking over gruesome crime scene photos, but your team made it special. Takeout, gallons of coffee, and shortly before midnight they surprised you with cake - which Luke slipped up was all Spencer’s idea.
Little did you know the surprises would continue upon your return home. Ethan, down on one knee in the middle of your living room, surrounded by candles and about a dozen bouquets of roses.
You took a deep breath before getting out of your car, and heading inside the building. Knowing your sudden engagement would come as a shock to the people you worked with, your second family, you were quite anxious about telling them. You were worried about how they would react. They didn't really know Ethan. They only met him a total of three times throughout the duration of your relationship meaning all the information they possessed was what you had told them - which in reality wasn’t all that much.
Sitting down at your desk, you kept your hand on your lap. As usual you were the first to arrive meaning you had some time to figure out exactly how you were going to go about this. Your gut feeling was to tell Spencer first. You owed him at least that much giving everything the two of you had been through.
But once again the universe had other plans.
“Good morning sunshine!”, Garcia chimed as she crossed the bullpen. “It is so lovely to see your beautiful beautiful face. How was Scottsdale?” She asked stopping beside your desk. “You know, apart from all the murder.”
“Uhm, it was-”
“Wait! Before you answer me.” She interrupted while reaching into her handbag. “I wanted to give you this.” Seconds later she retrieved a gift, wrapped perfectly in glittery pink paper with a bright bow tied around it. “Happy Birthday!”
“Penelope, you didn't have to.”
“Shush now, of course I did.” She smiled. “Come on. Take it, take it.”
Which is exactly what you did; completely forgetting about the two carat diamond that now graced your ring finger.
The shriek that came out of Garcia’s mouth was enough to make you remember. But before you could snatch your hand back, hide it on your lap once again, she grabbed it and the ever so present smile on her face widened even more.
“Oh my god! Oh my god!”, Garcia was jumping now, her hand still gripping yours as she examined the ring. “When did this happen? How did this happen? Oh I have so many questions!” Another excited shriek escaped her lips. “I’m going to hug you now, and then you’re going to tell me everything!”
Garcia let your hand fall before bending down slightly to wrap her arms tightly around you. “Congratulations honey, this is so exciting!” She swayed the two of you side to side.
“What’s exciting?” Luke’s voice caused the two of you to break apart.
“Well newbie, you should invest in a tux.” Penelope beamed.
“I have a tux.” Luke furrowed his brows, slightly confused. “Wait, what?” He glanced between you and Garcia, waiting for an explanation.
Taking in a quick breath, you got to your feet and lifted your hand to show him the ring. “Ethan proposed last night.”
Luke’s jaw fell open. “Holy smokes! Congratulations Y/N!” Dropping his bag to the floor, he pulled you into a quick embrace. “That’s huge news. I’m so happy for you.”
Penelope cleared her throat. “I think you mean we are all happy for her.” Luke chuckled and rolled his eyes at the blonde. “Yes, yes.”
One by one the team arrived. One by one you shared your news, and one by one they each congratulated you.
Matt joked about giving him a hefty amount of notice so he could organise a babysitter. Luke asked how you’d feel if his date was Roxy. Dave offered his house as a possible venue; ”Won’t be the first wedding I host kid.”. While Tara, JJ, Emily, and Garcia were deep in discussion about organising your bridal shower.
In the midst of all the chaos you hadn't even realised that one person was missing. The person who’s reaction might not be as cheery as the rest of the group currently huddled around you.
Spencer was late for work. He cursed under his breath while waiting for the elevator. He didn't like to be late. Which is why it didn't happen often. Not because time-keeping overall was important to him. No. He made sure to arrive early each day because it was the only time of day he got to spend with you. Alone.
It was the only time of day he had you all to himself.
As selfish as it may seem, it was the truth. Although he would never admit it to anyone because that would mean admitting his true feelings. And he couldn't do that. He had his chance. He blew it. Maybe he would get another in the future, he secretly hoped he would, but for now those interrupted mornings with you had to suffice.
The brunette agent immediately noticed the team gathered at your desk. He thought the worst, but was quickly reassured you were okay when your honey-like laughter filled the bullpen. The sound was music to his ears. If he could, he’d listen to you laugh all day.
“So are you going to keep us guessing forever?” Tara asked intrigued. “How did Ethan do it?”
Garcia clapped her hands. “Yes, tell us. Was it romantic? Oh, who am I kidding of course it was romantic. All proposals are.”
Proposals? Spencer shook the thought away. No, he must have heard that incorrectly.
“Did he get down on one knee?” JJ asked with a smile.
“I gotta give it to Ethan though cause that ring looks expensive. Being a surgeon must be nice.” Luke noted, causing Garcia to smack his bicep. “What?” He retorted shrugging his shoulders. “It’s just an observation.” “Keep your observations to yourself newbie.”
“Why don’t we let Y/N breathe for a second?” Rossi chimed in. “I’ll treat everyone to lunch later and she can tell us the story then.” He suggested, glancing between the team. Everyone nodded in unison and scattered; just as Spencer approached.
The second your gaze landed on him, you noticed the solemn look spread across his face. A sick feeling spread through you and you quickly wondered just how much he overheard.
“Good morning doctor.” You greeted him, your lips pursed into a half-smile.
“Good morning.” Spencer replied without looking at you.
“How are you?” You asked as he took off his bag and placed it on the desk beside him. “I wondered where you were this morning.” You added, making conversation.
Spencer didn't respond. He couldn't bring himself to say anything. He couldn't even bare to meet your eyes; which were currently burning a hole into the side of his head.
While he thought he misheard Garcia say something about proposals, he definitely heard JJ’s question and Luke mention Ethan, and the ring. Spencer usually stirred away from making assumptions, but this time all the evidence was there. He didn't have to ask. He knew. You were engaged.
“Can-” You cleared your throat. “Can we go somewhere private and talk? I have something I need to tell you.”
“I can’t now.” He rasped. Before you got a chance to protest, the brunette doctor turned on his heel and rushed away.
The reason he dashed away was you. Your engagement. He figured it out, overheard it, and now he needed to process this new information. You should have let him go, do it alone. You knew you shouldn't have followed him, that it would only make things worse, but you couldn't help yourself. There was a time where you thought Spencer was the love of your life. That the two of you would be getting married. And even though that didn't work out...
You grabbed his arm and using all of your strength you pulled him to a halt. The brunette doctor ran a hand through his already ruffled hair as you stepped in front of him.
“Spencer, can we talk about this?” You asked, your hand falling back down to your side. “There is nothing to talk about Y/N.” Spencer huffed. “You’re engaged. I’m happy for you.” There was a distinct hurt in his voice.
“This isn’t how I thought you would find out. I wanted you to be the first one to know but-” “It doesn’t matter Y/N.” He interrupted.
“It matters to me Spencer.”
“Why?” He asked in an ominous tone. His eyes darkened. “We broke up a long time ago. You don't owe me anything.” “Our breakup has nothing to do with this.” You protested. Spencer scoffed. “I don’t believe you. You’re not chasing down any of the other members of our team.” “Yeah, because they’re all genuinely happy for me.”
“You don't think I’m happy for you?”
“I know you're not.”
Silence. Heavy-sitting, unbearable silence. The two of you simply stared at each other as if fighting an inaudible argument. Blood pressure rising, your heart was now hammering in your chest and you were sure he was even angrier than you.
Perhaps that last sentence came out harsher then you intended it to, but in your eyes it was the truth. Spencer had every right not to be happy for you. In fact, a large part of you expected him to react badly which is also another reason why you wanted him to be the first to know.
You were right of course, you just didn't know it.
The pain in his chest was insufferable. The jealousy, the anger, the sorrow. All of those feelings mixed inside of him and spread through his body like wildfire. He thought he was heartbroken before, back when you first started dating Ethan, but he was dead wrong. His head was spinning. He felt nauseous. It was hard to breathe. This was heartbreak.
See, Spencer was there when you and Ethan first met. Which in his mind made all of this so much worse. The team was working a local case, and the brunette agent got hurt. Not severely, but it was enough to make everyone worry so you volunteered to drive him to the hospital. While Spencer got checked out, you went to fetch him some jell-o. When you returned about twenty minutes later, you weren't alone anymore.
You never told anyone the full story. Just that the surgeon spotted you in the cafeteria, and asked you out for coffee. Honestly, there wasn't much more to it than that. Well, apart from the tiny detail that your initial thought was to decline Ethan’s offer because you were secretly hoping to get back together with the brunette agent.
The only reason you said yes to Ethan all those months ago was because he was a surgeon, and with both of your hectic schedules combined you never thought it would progress any further than that one coffee date. But it did. And overtime you moved on from Spencer, and learned to love the surgeon. The feeling isn't quite the same, but Ethan makes you feel good and at the end of the day that’s all that matters. Right?
“What do you want me to say Y/N?” Spencer asked, finally breaking the uncomfortable silence. “Do you want to hear how I think you’re rushing into this? Do you want me to tell you I think Ethan is bad for you? That you can do better?” Pause. “It’s not like my opinion will change anything.”
You opened your mouth to say something but no words came out. Spencer sighed. “You’re engaged now. You’re going to marry Ethan, and I’m respecting your choice.”
The look that spread across Spencer’s face was pure sadness. He tried not to show it, but you could read him like an open book. He was in pain. He was in pain and there was nothing you could possibly do that would in any way help him or make him feel any better.
“We both moved on Y/N. You deserve to be happy, even if I think the guy is a jerk.” Spencer stated. It was harsh, he knew that, but in his defence it wasn't entirely true. Yes, he thought Ethan was an ass but it was primarily because Spencer loved you still, and he knew he would continue to love you until the end of his days. In his eyes, Ethan didn't deserve you.
And Spencer tried to get over you. Once he knew that you and Ethan were serious, he really tried to get over you. Yet nothing he did worked; it is as if you are imbedded deep in his soul. If he was a selfish man, he would let you stay there forever making it your permanent home. But Spencer Reid wasn't selfish, far from it. And now you were engaged to someone that wasn't him. He had to cut the cord. Even if the feeling was going to crush him.
“The only thing we share now is our work Y/N, nothing more.” And with that the brunette doctor walked away leaving you feeling lost, confused and slightly hurt.
You at least thought he considered you a friend.
Loving you is a bloodsport. Fighting in a love war.
Autistic Spencer Reid Headcanons
I’m back with more projecting onto Spencer, featuring a large dose of Found Family (requested by @spencers-renaissance )
okay so Spencer has definitely mastered the art of the perfect vocal stim. like tell me that in the millions of phrases and weird words he knows he hasn’t found the most satisfying words to repeat over and over. I am most certainly jealous
some of his favorite special interests are inspired by his mom: 19th and 20th century literature, poetry, etc. It makes him feel more connected to her and the good memories of his childhood.
Penelope got him a weighted blanket for his first birthday with the BAU and he loved it so much she got him another one the next year. It’s become a tradition for her to give him a blanket on his birthday but his favorite is still the first one she ever gave him
Emily bounces her legs all the time and it drives Spencer up the wall. they compromise: Emily bounces her leg but she has to make sure it’s not rubbing against something while she’s doing it so it doesn’t make noise.
Spencer is very picky about foods and textures and so when he’s on cases he usually sticks to coffee because he doesn’t have the energy to try to find something to eat that won’t upset him. JJ keeps some of his safe foods in her purse (Rice Krispie treats, applesauce pouches, etc) this becomes extremely convenient because not only does it keep Spencer fed but she becomes the go-to snack person on the team.
He grows his hair out long because he likes the sensation of having long hair, it’s almost shielding him in a way. However, he absolutely despises the feeling of hair in his face but regular hair ties give him the worst migraines. Penelope introduces his to scrunches and he falls in love. They keep the hair out of his eyes AND are fun to fidget with (especially the fake velvet ones)
oversized clothes= heaven! it’s like a weighted blanket and the sleeves are fun to fiddle with. Spencer’s solution to the distinct lack of hoodies in his wardrobe? steal Derek’s (and Emily’s but that’s harder to get away with because she always manages to steal it back without him noticing)
Whenever he’s overwhelmed on the jet (because air pressure sensations + noisy jets= hell) Derek always loans him his headphones. Eventually Derek just buys him noise canceling headphones because jet rides are excruciatingly boring without his usual music playing
Spencer discovers the absolute magic that is chewlery (chewable jewelry) and practically combusts. he doesn’t feel comfortable wearing them out in public but when he’s at home or on the jet he’s always got one thrown around his neck
He’s extremely clumsy (dyspraxia gang✌🏼) and literally is always bumping into something or injuring himself somehow. Hotch is just like🤨🤨and starts sticking Jack’s superhero bandaids on him
