#but i needed to take a break from all my obi wan for a second and do something different

how about what would happen if the star wars boys made you cry 👀
ok i kinda did this in the scenario that you're arguing and they make you cry
characters: din, poe, finn, han, luke & obi-wan
din djarin
he is HORRIFIED the minute tears spring from your eyes
maybe you're fighting, maybe he got stressed and said something in the heat of moment, whatever it is, he's immediately forgotten about what he was mad about and he's by your side, floods of apologies coming from his mouth and gloved hands taking yours
he just kinda pulls you into his chest and holds you for a moment and my GOD he wants the world to swallow him up because he loves you more than anything in the world and he normally hates whoever makes you cry but right now it's him
truth is, you know din and you know that he would never do anything to intentionally hurt you so as far as apologies go, it's one you accept pretty quickly
he's gonna apologise for like a week after that
even if it becomes annoying
poe dameron
poe just sort of freezes and has this "oh fuck" look on his face
"oh god, don't cry. please don't cry. did i make you cry? oh my god. i made you cry."
and then he probably starts crying too
because he always wants to cry when you cry but the fact that he's the one responsible for it? woo boy
he swallows it down though and doesn't let you see because he doesn't want to seem like he's taking away from what he's done
his immediate reaction is to want to hug you, but he waits for a moment to see if you'll let him because he doesn't know if you're gonna swing at him tbh
if you let him, he holds you fucking tight. he doesn't apologise then and there, though, not until things have calmed down - normally a few moments later - that he says sorry and you know it's from the bottom of his heart
he goes out his way over the next few days to make it up to you; flowers, dinner, a romantic trip to a distant planet, but above all, he makes an active effort to never let it happen again
and that's what matters most
finn
honestly finn looks like a kicked puppy
because he tries so hard to never argue with you or get mad EXACTLY FOR THIS REASON and he has failed in his attempts and oh lord he wants to die
he doesn't jump immediately to apologising, mostly because he wants you to say what you need to say and he doesn't want to talk over you
and he listens!! he wants to know what he did and what he said so that it never happens again
then he apologises, and it's always straight to the point but still eloquent and meaningful
finn isn't gonna be the kinda guy who apologises for days (oh, din) or goes out his way to shower you in sorry gifts (ah, poe) because mostly he just wants to move on from it and get back to a good place with you but it's like...not in a way that he forgets about it??
it's more of a thing that he hates things being off with you. like it literally kills him inside. so he encourages you to both move forward and get back to the good stuff.
but he also makes it clear that he has learnt from it
han solo
han literally doesn't know what to do. he can barely handle people crying at the best of times but when a) it's you and b) you're crying because of him?
his immediate reaction is to run, because it's han and he always wants to peg it away from every single issue but his chest hurts at the idea and it hurts even more when he knows he's the bastard that made you cry
he just goes silent and is kinda 🧍‍♂️for a second because his brain is computing but then he realises that he does know what to do when you cry and that's attack the thing that upset you
then he realises that he can't do that and goes "well i can't fucking blast myself, so i don't really know what to do right now" and it's stupid and dumb and oh my god han read the fucking room but at least it breaks the ice a little bit and you smile
because, despite everything and despite han being...well, han, you know he's trying his best and the fact he's even still in front of you is actually something of a miracle
that's your cue to rip into him, by the way, because even if you're crying it is canon that the only way to get han solo to listen to you is to tear him a new one (or three) so he will stand there and take the bollocking
after that, he apologises. han isn't good with words so it's a little bit spacey and awkward but the intent is there
but he also makes it abundantly clear that he never means to hurt you and you know, from the bottom of his heart, that he means it
luke skywalker
luke literally stops in his tracks and he's holding you immediately and going "i didn't mean that, i really didn't mean that, please don't hate me"
literally his entire facade his gone - the stubbornness, whatever he's arguing about - just disappears and he realises immediately that none of it is worth making you cry
so the man is literally holding you before your tears even start and he's already apologising over and over
he does want to listen to you though and hear what you have to say, so he's all ears
tbh, it's hard to stay angry at luke for long because you know he's completely pure intentioned and good hearted but you can absolutely opt to give him the silent treatment or take space for as long as you need and he will let you do it
after that, he buys you flowers and will make it up to you in every way he knows how
obi-wan kenobi
out of everyone on the list, obi-wan is the one who is the most shooketh to his core when he realises that he's made you cry
because he's so chivalrous and loving and might as well live to serve you so the idea that he's hurt you is quite possibly his greatest fear come true
his immediate reaction is to give you space. he'll apologise first and let you know that he's ready to talk whenever you are, simply because he doesn't want to overstep or push you to make up until you're ready
but as soon as you are, he's all ears and listening to everything you have to say
again - and i feel like i'm saying this for every character here lol - you know that he'd never hurt you intentionally and although that's the main, the proof is in the pudding when he actively listens to you and makes an effort to avoid it happening again

Codywan POTC AU ideas
Ok so people seemed to like the idea (and my lack of experience in actually making posts that reach people showed when I tried to make this post through reblogging and it didn't appear anywhere :') ) so here's what I currently have with some rough drawings!
Here's the original post I made about it
Ideas and drawings for AU below, please feel free to use!! No idea if I'll actually write something for it, the creature in charge of driving my brain will decide I guess.
Ok so, Obi-Wan fills the role of Elizabeth and Cody is Will in terms of who’s the governor’s child (or grandchild/ward here) and who is found floating at sea with a mysterious medallion and becomes a blacksmith. Going to deviate from the story a lot but needed Cody to have that blood importance link - you will see why later.
Dooku is governor who takes in his grandson Obi Wan as his ward after Qui-Gon’s death, then brings him with him to port royal (feel like Dooku is a good fit for all the colonisation/sugar plantations/definitely not the good guy the films presented him as considering Caribbean in the 1770s.) Obi-wan and Cody grow up keeping in contact and obliviously infatuated with each other as per films.
Not sure if there’s a Norrington equivalent here. Satine would probably be the easiest fit in terms of romantic triangle but couldn’t be an exact match as she’d never be a soldier even if we ignored period accuracy (no idea if I will or not) and a lot of his actions would be an insult to her as a character. Think it would probably be that Satine and Obi-Wan are dear friends who aren’t interested in each other romantically but are being pressured to marry because advantageous match etc. (Possibility of both getting into Methodism and abolitionism through that and that being their points of discussion, and the clash occurs when from start of events of second film Obi-Wan goes and begins to take a much more active route to abolition eg. Killing slavers and boarding their ships to liberate those inside. Satine being against the killing and violence etc but thats later on!)
For Captain Jack Sparrow, who better than the greatest space pirate of them all, Hondo Ohnaka! (Was considering having Quinlan Vos for it but feel like his moral compass is too strong honestly)
As in the films, black pearl (possibly renamed) attacks the port and Obi-Wan is taken aboard with medallion when he invokes parley and, when he gives his surname as Fett, is taken away as they leave. Barbossa I’m currently thinking is Maul (which ties in beautifully and absolutely not completely accidentally with the clone wars episode where Hondo’s crew mutiny him to join Maul) who is going to manage to get singularly obsessed with Obi-Wan by the end of the events of the first film where he is not actually dead/possibly reincarnated like Barbossa in the films but blames Obi-Wan for everything (which would honestly be more justified than the root of Mauls obsession in canon).
Cody breaks Hondo out to help him rescue Obi Wan, they assemble a crew on Tortuga. Various Jedi characters will be appearing as part of a large network of escaped slaves and outlaws (for various reasons) who want to help people in similarly difficult and/or dangerous situations. The Jedi have had dealings with Hondo before and essentially have a similar reaction to him as ghost crew in rebels - don’t trust him as far as they can throw him but often forced to work with him against their better judgement.
Plot progresses as first film but more oh the real villains are the colonisers (though Maul and his crew are giving them a run for their money). Find out that not only is Fett blood needed to break the curse since Jango was involved with initial treasure taking, but there’s a mysterious extra reason why people are wanting to get their hands on a son of Fett. Murmurs of gaining favours with others saying it’s bad luck to have one on the same ship as them. Jedi and Hondo who have known Fett are also reluctant to give their opinion when Cody asks what Jango was like.
Movie accurate romantic and sexual tension between obi-wan and cody, gonna say period accurate homophobia also playing its part in stopping them acting on it.
After being rescued from being marooned Obi-Wan promises Dooku he will marry Satine if they rescue Cody, then sneaks out of ship to help take the Pearl and then on to rescue Cody. If it is Jedi in the crew they may well go with him but otherwise same as film. Hondo persuades Maul that he should become a commodore and Mauls crew “take a walk”. Then events as film but Obi wan kills Maul.
When they’re back at port royal, Cody saves Hondo from execution and Obi Wan saves them both either through really banking on his power as Dooku’s ward/heir or sneaking them away with distraction (possibly even before execution date). I quite like the second option as there’s an opportunity for using smugglers tunnels and a first, desperate kiss as Cody escapes with Hondo to join the crew on the Pearl.
So ends first film as it were. Here’s some more rough drawings of Cody and Obi-Wan start of first film vs third film. I absolutely used a reference for that first drawing of Cody and I nabbed the obi wan base for the drawings from another piece I’m working on so sorry about style discrepancies!
Tumblr media
Second film! Satine and Obi-Wan’s wedding is taking place the next day and Cody, who has been writing letters back and forth with Obi-Wan , is waiting in the smugglers cave for him so they can run away together. But Obi-Wan never shows. Cody either hears at port or through Satine directly (who knew the plan to run away and was banking on the scandal meaning she could avoid marriage for a good while afterwards) that Obi-Wan has been taken into captivity by a Lord Palpatine/Sidious working for the interests of the East India Trading Company. The charges are for aiding and abetting pirates, his role in helping Hondo and Cody escape has been discovered apparently (maybe yes maybe no, Palpatine doesn’t give a fuck he just wants the compass). Cody somehow finds out about the compass being the wanted trade (Satine as a go between perhaps? Saying she’ll send hired men to get the thing that will save her fiancé?) and heads off in search of Hondo.
Hondo’s meanwhile been visited by an old friend to tell him it’s time to pay his debt, and the black spot appears in his hand. Surprise it’s not Jango! It’s Either Fox or Rex! Hondo scared shitless and runs ship aground on an island which is where Cody finds him and his crew at that time. (Do the Jedi help him get there??) Anyway think the island scenes will be more OFMD vibes than actual events of dead man’s chest.
Hondo tricks Cody into going onto shipwreck to search for key he’ll trade in return for compass. Flying Dutchman arrives and with it it’s captain, Darth Vader.
Another very rough drawing I added extremely rough shading to! Vader is combined Davy jones style with a vampire squid because 1) on brand 2) the membrane sections reminded me of the his mask. He’s wearing a bicorn hat which wouldn’t actually be the trend for another couple of decades but let’s just pretend Vader is incredibly fashion forward.
Tumblr media
Cody is alive and so not of interest to Vader, until Hondo, who Vader has sensed and has appeared in front of on the Pearl, tells Vader that he’s a Fett and so part of his payment of 100 souls. Vader scoffs that a Fett son is payment of another’s debt and can’t be used by Hondo, but Hondo replies that Jango Fett died on land and so has no need to settle his debt anymore. Vader finally accepts when Hondo tells him Cody is in love, giving him a fortnight to find the other 99 souls.
Cody hasn’t heard this on the other ship so first he hears of it is Vader basically telling him and welcoming him as another son of Fett. Cody is confused when Vader tells him he can join his brothers on deck, figures he means crew mates, but instead comes face to face with dozens of men who look near identical to him in various states of ‘fishification’.
More rough drawings! I spent too much time on these but they’re still rough so heck it. Only did Alpha 17, Rex and Fox for these ones.
Tumblr media
Alpha has been part of the crew for the longest time, as the first son that Jango Fett ‘paid his debt’ with. Torn between hair styles, but he’s turning into a great white shark. Alpha hasn’t known any life outside of the ship as he was barely walking when Jango took him to Vader. Jango essentially decided to settle his debt with Vader by making the souls to give himself because he’s a full out bastard. Mostly this meant one night stands and then showing up a few years down the line and promising to the mother he’d take care of the child.
Fox actually managed to live his life without Jango taking him as a child but it was still a hard life and he’s actually encountered Lord Palpatine/Sidious before. He doesn’t talk of that time but he has the brand on his neck from it (the pirate P). Either Palpatine killed him or eventually he either ran into Jango or those who knew of sons of Fett and believed that sending one to Vader would grant you favour from him/gain you a wish or something. It doesn’t, Vader just subtracts one from Fett’s debt. (Possibility of Palpatine killing Fox hoping to gain communication/favour with Vader?)
Rex is the most recent addition to the brothers in the crew aside from Cody. He’s only a couple of years younger and only a bit of fishification has started. He’s the most hopeful still of the brothers. He’s the one Cody trusts most and has as a confidant for his plan to steal the key.
Meanwhile Obi-Wan has escaped and disguised himself as a pirate. Manages to find Hondo and various Jedi. They may their way to island with the chest on it and Cody, who has managed to escape the Dutchman (name change pending) appears and fights Hondo.
Feel it would be kind of funny if Maul were to appear at this point and go all KENOBI, just to add to the chaos.
Vader is Anakin and fulfils the role of Davy Jones with Calypso being Padme (fun bit when they go to see her in her human form and they’re met by the handmaidens). Not a perfect fit as padme isn’t flighty and wild like the sea but hey ho. So Vader locked away his heart and trapped Padme in human form.
I honestly have no idea if the twins are running around somewhere or not and what they’re doing. Ashoka is definitely around somewhere as is Ezra and other rebels.
Had an idea of reincarnation or believed to be of Obi-Wan as someone Vader viewed as his in some way. Can either actually be reincarnation of just that they look similar/obi-wan is a descendant but Vader ends up obsessed with him which helps add validity when they pretend he’s Calypso/Padme.
Satine has been facing off with Palpatine and his cronies from a legal stand point but Palpatine isn’t playing fair or legal (particularly when he gets Vader’s heart (possibly delivered by Maul?)). Bo Katan would be sick to turn up and fight anyone and everyone.
Not sure if Jango is actually dead or not, but he had Boba and since he stuck around and loved his mother he thinks of him as his true child and has amazing cognitive dissonance to not be horrified and trying to rescue the others. But think he’s probably dead and boba’s running around somewhere not even aware how much danger he’s in (but possibly told by Jango not to tell people his real surname).
Oh also! Note on initial drawing - so I imagine that occurring with Mace Windu filling the role of Barbossa in the wedding scene!
Anyway hope there’s something in here that intrigues people!

Clone Wars headcanons that have been rotting in my google docs
I like to believe that Padme teaches Ahsoka how to make friendship bracelets and she treats it as something sacred and spends an unholy amount of time making some for the people she cares about
Master Plo gets the first one, Obi-Wan gets the second, Rex Cody and a couple of their boys get some more, Padme of course gets one, and Anakin gets one last
The reason he was the last to get one is something Ahsoka will never admit out loud but she honestly wanted to take her time with his
And because of that Anakin permanently has a work of art on his wrist like everyone’s is gorgeous but his is something else entirely
He thanks her truly and honestly thanks her and promises to keep it forever
When Ahsoka jokingly calls him for breaking the orders rules he comments back “When have we ever listened to those rules”
He keeps his promise too that bracelet never leaves his person
He’s lost clothes lightsabers and even a couple of prosthetics but he always makes sure to go back for that bracelet
He eventually repays the gift in kind with a bracelet of his own
It’s not the best made or pretties thing but Ahsoka can feel the love that was put into it so she makes the same promise he did years ago and keeps it too
When the twins are born Ahsoka makes them both friendship bracelets
At first they are small enough for their tiny wrists but she adds onto them as they grow older
Ahsoka tears up when she finds that they all kept the bracelets she never thought they’d toss them or anything but seeing them decades later does hit her hard because they’re all in perfect condition
Padme loves to “kidnap” Ahsoka whenever they have the time
She’ll just request her protection on a diplomatic mission
Sometimes it is an actual mission but Padme will still make time to take them to her favorite restaurants or cafes so they can have a little bit of downtime
When the war ends the tradition continues even tho everyone knows Ahsoka’s not really there as a security escort
I find the visual of Anakin and Padme telling Ahsoka, Obi-wan, and Rex they’re married fucking hilarious
Both Obi-Wan and Rex would try to act like they’ve been fooled truly they do but it all kinda breaks when Ahsoka asks “Wait we weren’t supposed to know?”
Anakin is just as confused when he asks “What do you mean Soka? How could you have known?”
And that’s when Ahsoka just starts laughing hysterically and it doesn’t take long for Obi-Wan and Rex to join in when he asks again all Ahsoka says is “Really? Kriffing look at you two” and doesn’t add much else
Both Luke and Leia try to replicate Ahsoka’s face markings with various levels of success
They often ask their mom for help and she’s always happy to do so Ahsoka gets filled with unimaginable amounts of joy when she sees her niece and nephew trying to look just like her
Anakin often jokes that of course he’s not the favorite even in his own home like she’s not the first name that comes up whenever babysitting is on the table
It’s also not a surprise that both Ahsoka and Obi-Wan become the twin's space equivalent of godparents
It seems like a necessary precaution all things considered
Neither of them takes the role lightly but they also vow that it won’t be needed and they do everything in their power to make it so
After most missions it is very rare for Anakin to let Ahsoka and Obi-Wan out of his sight
Ahsoka never fights him on this and is perfectly happy to stay by his side and sleep in the living room like they often do
Sometimes Obi-Wan is called away for a meeting with the council and can’t stay with the two but that doesn’t stop him from joining them later on in the night even if they’re asleep
Anything beats sleeping in his cold desolate room after some of the more dangerous missions
Sometimes they’ll go a step further and call Padme just to check in with her and have her on the line as they watch some stupid rom-com
After some of the rougher missions it wasn’t uncommon for Ahsoka to pass out due to the physical and mental strain
It also wasn’t uncommon for Anakin to give her a piggyback ride back to the ship
He finds that people shoot him less looks when he’s carrying his padawan instead of holding her in a death grip and not letting go until it’s time to leave
A lot of people thought they’d grow out of this habit but no it’s a trend that stays throughout their lives
It just so happens that Ahsoka grows tall enough to return the ongoing favor
It also didn’t stop at the battlefield either
Sometimes Anakin would find her passed out in the archives or he would get a message that she was asleep in a friend's room
And he’d always go to get her because what’s he gonna do leave her there?
Sometimes when Ahsokas babysitting the kids Anakin will find her in a position that Obi-Wan often told him about
Sitting in front of the TV with the twins curled up at her side
And while Padme deems it her job to carry the twins off to their room Anakin takes his long-time role of carrying Ahsoka to hers
(Because if you think she wouldn’t have a room in their house you’re crazy)
Anakin always knew Ahsoka would grow up that’s just a part of life and how the universe works
But nothing can describe the feeling of her growing taller than him
Envy isn’t what he feels no matter how much people suggest he does sadness isn’t either it’s something deeper than that
Bittersweet is the closest word he could find because after all there’s nothing quite like watching your younger sibling grow up

If I Killed Someone For You
Word count: 1772
Other
Anakin Skywalker x reader
Based on the song If I Killed Someone For You by Alec Benjamin
Navigation
---
I'm sorry that I did this
The blood is on my hands
I stare at my reflection
I don't know who I am
As Anakin snuck out of the Jedi temple, unable to have killed the younglings like he said he would, his mind immediately went to Y/N. He peeked around the corner to see numerous Jedi standing there, all seeming surprised by the recent turn of events.
Anakin quickly ran across the opening to the exit, got on a ship, and took off as fast as he could. Looking back, he could see the light from their sabers. He turned his attention to the front again, seeing his reflection in the window. What had he become?
Practice my confession
In case I take the stand
I'll say I learned my lesson
I'll be a better man
His hands shook as he steered the ship, not knowing where he was going at first. All he knew was that he had to get away. Far away. If anyone ever caught him- ever- he’d be dead.
Anakin kept glancing back, praying that he wouldn’t see the light of another ship. No one would ever accept an apology for what he had done and even if they did, things would never be the same.
I'm packing up my things
And I'm wiping down the walls
I'm rinsing off my clothes
And I'm walking through the halls
Although his hopes were high, he knew that it was inevitable for someone to come after him. Although seeing Obi-Wan’s ship in the mirror definitely surprised him. He turned sharply, trying to throw Obi-Wan off his path. While it worked for a second, Obi-Wan found him again in seconds. Anakin groaned. Why’d they have to send one of the people who knew him best?
Anakin pushed a few buttons, making the ship fly faster than before. Tying a rope to the steering to keep it there, he stood up and quickly fixed the hyperspace mechanic, knowing he’d have to use it. Just as he finished, he felt the ship go sideways. After regaining his balance, he jumped, pulling the steering and getting the ship back up again. He pushed another button, getting the ship ready to go into hyperspace.
While waiting, he saw a green light shoot past him. He looked back once again, seeing Obi-Wan was now not only joined by two other ships but also firing in his direction.
He was starting to feel regret about what he’d done, but it quickly went away.
I did it all for her
So I felt nothing at all
I don't know what she'll say
So I'll ask her when she calls
It was for her. It was all for her. He had to, so why couldn’t he finish the job? He jumped into hyperspace, hoping it’d get him away from the foes on his back. He didn’t really think about it, but he did. He had thought about it without even knowing.
The planet was a beautiful green color. It was the planet they’d said the two of them would go and hide away on.
I hear the sirens coming
I see the flashing lights
I'm driving through the suburbs
Wearing my disguise
The hope he had faded away as he landed on the planet and saw several other ships appear in the sky. However, it was too late to get off the planet now. They’d catch him instantly. He got off the ship, running out of the docking area and ignoring the man who demanded a docking fee. They fired at him, but he easily dodged and continued running.
He considered killing them. He did. Then they wouldn’t be able to tell the others which way he had gone. However, he didn’t want to do that. Especially when he was just about to see her. He couldn’t do that. He wouldn’t.
He slowed his pace to a speedy walk as he entered a marketplace. He pulled up his hood, sticking to the shadows as he quickly walked through. He came to the end and his run continued.
Soon enough, he came across the small cabin he and her had decided on. No one else knew about it. If they needed a break, they’d go there. If they just wanted each other, they’d go there.
If they ever got in any trouble, they’d go there.
And Anakin was definitely in trouble.
I show up at her doorstep
To look her in the eyes
I tell her that it's me
But she doesn't recognize
He knocked on the door, despite the fact that it was his house as well. He waited for what felt like hours, although it was a matter of seconds before the door opened.
He was immediately entranced by her enticing eyes, a smile coming to his face despite the current situation. A smile started to appear on hers, but it quickly went away when she looked down to see the state of his robes.
“Anakin, are you alright?” She asked frantically. He nodded
“Now that I’m with you, I couldn’t be any better.” She shook her head, reaching forward and grabbing his arms. Now her beautiful eyes were filled with worry, stunting his feeling of comfort.
  “Anakin, what happened?”
Can't you see I'm running?
Said I need a place to hide
I've gotta ask you something
Could you please let me inside?
Anakin nodded, more to himself than it was to the woman in front of him. Anakin looked up to see ships flying the way he had come, undoubtedly the very ships he was running from. He looked back down.
“I need to go inside, I will explain everything to you if you just let me inside, then we can be together without worry.”
“Worry about what, Anakin?” He stepped forward and she moved out of the way, seeing no reason to not allow him inside of their shared house. “What happened?”
Just let me explain
No, I wouldn't tell you lies
I know you'll understand
If you let me stay the night
“I did something, something really bad. He was trying to get in my head and he did, and he used you to do so with these terrible images and I wanted to stop them from happening and-”
“Anakin, love, slow down, take a breath.” She shut the door behind her as she spoke, walking over and leading Anakin to the couch. She grabbed his hands once they had sat down, trying to help calm him down. “Just tell me what happened. Are you hurt?”
  “No, I… I’m not hurt. I’m fine. But…”
“But what, Anakin?” She was exasperated. He could tell. She was stressed and he was dragging his out for as long as he could.
You have to understand that
The one I killed is me
Changing what I was
For what you wanted me to be
“It was for you. I had to save you. You understand, don’t you?” She lightly threw her hands in the air with a groan.
“I can’t understand if I don’t know what happened.” She said. He nodded. The two of them looked away from each other when sirens could be heard in the distance. She stood up, walking over to the window in confusion.
Anakin quickly grabbed her arm, pulling her back as he stood up.
“I did something I can never go back on, and in the process, I’ve changed things about myself, the very things you used to love.”
I followed your direction
Did everything you asked
I hope that makes you happy
'Cause there's just no turning back
“It’s ok, whatever you did, it’s ok. We can fix it.” Anakin shook his head.
“No, no, we can’t, you can’t…-”
“Then we can stay here. No one will ever find us.”
“Love, they are already on the planet.”
Would you hold my hand?
They're the same ones that I used
When I killed someone for you
Anakin looked to where their hands interlocked, flashes of his actions prominent in his mind as he thought about what would happen if she got caught with him. She’d be hiding a fugitive, she’d lose her ranks, her friends, her family, everything. He couldn’t let her do that, even if she was more than willing.
Would you turn me in
When they say I'm on the loose?
Would you hide me when
My face is on the news?
The sirens grew closer, probably due to the people on the dock telling the others which way he had gone. He regretted his decision. He should’ve killed them, but he didn’t.
“We don’t have to stay here. I have a ship in the back, we can escape. Whatever you did, it’s fine. You don’t even have to tell me, just listen to me, please.”
“I… The Council is damaged. One strike and they could be brought to ruins.” She froze.
“You didn’t…?” He nodded. She sucked in a breath, looking away as she thought. She nodded to herself.
“Ok, ok, that’s fine. That’s ok. We just need to stay down, hide, get away from here.” He shook his head this time.
“I can’t ask you to do that. You’ll lose everything, Y/N.”
“It’s all worth nothing if you’re not here with me.” He paused, looking at her as he took in her words. She started walking back, pulling him along with her lightly. “Come on, let’s get out of here.” He didn’t protest, going with her. Seeing that he wasn’t fighting back, she felt relieved and turned around and started pulling him tighter so the two would get there faster.
Anakin felt himself relax as the ship came into view, admiring the woman in front of him even more.
“You shouldn’t come with me.” He said quietly as they got closer to the ship. She turned around sharply, raising a hand to his cheek, not breaking eye contact.
“I refuse to leave you.” She said. She looked back at the ship. “Even if you leave without me I will find you again. I will do what it takes.”
  “You can’t-”
“Hey!” The two looked over to see a soldier standing by the door they exited from. Anakin didn’t even have time to react before Y/N made a quick motion, pulling out her blaster and shooting the soldier square in the chest. He fell back and she fired another shot. He stopped moving. She looked back to Anakin.
“I won’t leave you.” Anakin paused for a second, looking between her and the now-dead soldier. He looked back at her. He nodded.
  “Of course.”
'Cause I killed someone for you

"I was so worried about you. Obi-Wan told me horrible things, Ani."
That's how most of Anakin's nightmares started. You were in front of him, standing there with a bit of hope glistening in your wide eyes and a slight tremble in your shaking voice. Your cheeks were wet from the endless tears running down them and he didn't know the reason behind the action, which made him more confused. Why did the nightmares always started like that? Where did the very beginning go?
But he knew what was expected at the end. And he didn't like the ending in the slightest.
"What things?"
"He said you turned to the dark side. That you ... killed the younglings. Is it true? Did you do that?"
Did he? He should be ashamed of his action, he should regret them yet the only feeling that flowed inside him was the urge to save you, to keep you breathing and by his side. But an unsaid emotion flashed through him when he watched the young children fall into their never ending sleep of the very welcoming death and the life leaving their emotionless eyes as they would never sparkle with wonder again. "Don't listen to him, [Name]. Obi-Wan is trying to turn you against me."
A shake of your head was the only response he got from you and he wasn't sure if that was the answer he wanted, "No, he wouldn't do that. He cares about us."
"Us? He's jealous."
Obi-Wan didn't care about you and Anakin knew it. If he did care how you claim to know, you wouldn't be standing in front of your husband with tears streaming down your face as you watch the confused look on his face turn into one of anger and hatred. You would be somewhere safe, somewhere where the council couldn't discover your deepest secret and with your lover holding you like he promised he always would with nothing but adoration for you.
"He knows. He wants to help you. Anakin, all I want is your love. Please, come back to me."
You were begging at this point and he knew it. But you didn't understand. You didn't understand what would happen to you, to him, if he didn't take the matter into his own hands. The nightmares always ended the same and Anakin would do anything to change the plotline just so you could make it.
"Love won't save you, [Nickname], only my new powers can!" he ignored the cry of your own voice, at what cost? He's standing closer now and the emotions in your eyes seemed to grow more and more he's standing closer to you. And maybe if his own tears weren't blinding his vision, he would see that those emotions belonged to him. That you were hurting for him. "I'm stronger now, I can save you! I won't loose you the same way I lost my mother. I've become more powerful than any Jedi has ever dreamed of. And I'm doing it for you, to protect you." Protect you from him.
"Don't do this, Ani. Come away with me. We can run away together. From the council, from the responsibilities. Just you and me. Leave everything else behind while we still can. Our lives don't need to be the way they used to."
If it wasn't you who was standing in front of him, if he didn't love you so deeply, he would've scoffed at your stupidity. Haven't you been listening to him? Maybe you were right, love can blind those who were attached to each other, maybe you were blinded by the strong admiration. You definitely weren't seeing right. "Don't you see? We don't have to run away anymore. I have brought peace to the Republic. I am more powerful than the Chancellor, I can overthrow him. And together, the way we always wanted, you and I can rule the galaxy. Make things like we planned, sweetheart."
The familiar use of your nickname just brought more tears into your eyes. You missed the times when the nickname was spoken in the soft voice, soothing you into sleep while his flesh hand stroked your head as if trying to protect you from bad dreams. It sounded different back there. Now the sound of whisper was nothing but desperate, trying to lure you into something bad. "Where are you, Anakin? You've changed, it's not you anymore. Obi-Wan was right."
Even when the last part was rushed and whispered into the thin air, he heard it and it made his blood boil with anger. But not towards you, all his anger and hatred was never directed to you. The council, Obi-Wan, they held all the crimes in the centre of their palms and still acted like they were heroes, the good ones for everyone around them. "No, I don't want to hear any more about Obi-Wan. The jedi turned against me, don't you please turn against me."
This Anakin that stood before you wasn't the Anakin you met all those years ago on his home planet and fell in love with. This wasn't the one who made sure to kiss your forehead goodnight every night when you were together. He simply wasn't him. He who would take you on a speeder drive in the middle of the night when your loud thoughts wouldn't leave your mind alone. He who would spend days, months to build you the perfect droid to keep you company when the long missions started to be more common. He who you married on your home planet, knowing that you had Shmi's blessing to marry her only son. He who loved you truly and deeply.
You missed him more than anything now.
"I don't know you anymore. Anakin, you're breaking my heart. You're going down a path I can't follow. Stop, please, stop now. Come back. I love you."
Maybe in another universe things would be different and he could change the ending.
"Liar!"
The world started spinning and the only thing you could think about in your situation was the tight pain surrounding your throat. Your air flow was cut of, your hands weakly crawled at the skin, trying to push the invisible Force away, but no luck was at your side that night. If it wasn't for the tears clouding your mind at that moment, you would see the pain and anguish in your lover's eyes caused by his own actions but he knew there wasn't any way back anymore. You were lost and he would never get you back.
And as you started falling to the ground, something in Anakin snapped enough for him to clear his mind and realise what has just happened and what he did. His movements acted sooner than his thinking and his arms caught you just before your lifeless body hit the dirty ground. Slowly kneeling down, your head was resting in the crook of his forearm as he clinged himself to you, to feel your fading warm for the last time. What has he done?
With a sharp take of the air, Anakin's body flinched back to the reality of the dark night on Coruscant. He felt the sweat that wrapped itself around his torso, forehead and hands like a blanket making him slightly uncomfortable. His raspy breathing filled the air as he was still calming down from the newest nightmare. Yes, he did have those exact same ones often but this one was different, this one just felt too real and that's what scared him. Were you going to really die by his hand? No, he wouldn't let that happen. Not by his hand.
The Jedi turned his head to look into your direction on the bed and when he saw the peaceful expression on your face, he didn't know he would ever like to be this relieved in his entire life. You were there, by his side. And you weren't going anywhere soon, he'll make sure of that.
He slowly got up from the bed, making sure to not disturb your sleep, put a robe on his still sweaty body and stepped out to the chilly weather outside on the balcony. His hands gripped the railing tightly, the need to ground himself entered his self uninvited and at full force. You were okay and so were the younglings (he hoped). He's not a horrible person. It was just an usual bad dream.
You must have sensed the cold, empty place next to you because you found yourself standing next to Anakin, your head resting comfortably on his shoulder as his arms went around waist in a loving hug. "What's wrong, Ani?"
His chin found its place on the crown of your head as he gently mumbled into your hair. "Nothing, my love."
"Don't do this. Don't shut me out. Let me help you. You know I'm more than happy to hear you out. You're not alone, we're together in this."
His arms around you wrapped just a bit tighter when the sudden flash of the dream made its way into his mind again. The comforting smell of your hair was soothing him now, reminding him of home. Of you. "It was just another nightmare, yeah. It felt so real as well, but you have no idea how glad I am it's not the reality."
You smiled into his collarbones and let the warm of his embrace sway you back into your dreamy state in his arms. Anakin took a deep breath, feeling the tears and fear finally entering his system. "It was like the ones I told you about, the ones about you, us. You were confronting me and, I don't know why but it angered me, seeing you agreeing with a person who betrayed me. So I just," he felt quiet after those words, like if he continued talking about his dream it somehow would become a reality. A reality he feared. Because his world revolved around you, his sun, and kept him grounded. Loosing you would make it all dark and empty, full of melancholy and hurt he was sure he couldn't escape from. Loosing you would shatter his soul and leave him alone in the cruel world. Loosing you would destroy his light side and bring an end to Anakin Skywalker. He wasn't the same without you. "I held your lifeless frame in my arms and I don't wish to see that sign again."
His hands went to push you away from him just far enough so he could press his palms to your warm cheeks, his thumbs dancing across your skin so gently you thought you might have imagined it. His eyes were a clear blue colour you grew to adore and something blossomed in your insides when you saw the look he was giving you. It was sad yet determined and full of fondness towards you at the same time. "I won't loose you, sweetheart. I promise you."
Giving your husband his favourite smile that held so much of unsaid feelings just for him, you grabbed his hands that were still resting on your face. He sent a small grin your way as well and slowly started to forget his biggest fear in your touch.
"You know I believe you, Ani. You're an incredible person and the most loving husband I could ever wish for and I hope you know that. Now come on back to bed, I can tell by the bags under your eyes how tired you must be."
Anakin breathed out a sigh of the much needed air and gave a small nod of his head, feeling nothing more than to accomplish this simple request of yours. Your arms made him feel more grounded than any railing ever could and he would be dammed if he lost you for real. With a quick kiss to your forehead, he slipped your hands into his and made the way under the covers, where he was sure he definitely could keep you safe.

you might already have this in tour inbox but 16 and/or 8 for the choose violence prompt mem?
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
I've kinda touched on this before sooo I'm gonna elaborate a lil because I do not think Qui-Gon would've been a better teacher for Anakin, or at least he wouldn't have made much of a difference.
First of all! What even is the reasoning for him being better with Anakin? Surely it isn't his track record. I'm all for second chances but uh. Fourth chances? Idk man. I'm sure Obi-Wan could attest to instances of Qui-Gon being a good teacher but it's hard to take seriously coming from that far under the bus lol.
Qui-Gon at the start of TPM tells Obi-Wan "You have much to learn, my young apprentice" and a few days later he has the gall to tell the Council that Obi-Wan is 100% ready for his trials. ????? He needs to get a grip and maybe not throw out his almost-finished student prematurely for the new shiny boy. Respectfully, there's something wrong with him and he should maybe take a break from teaching first and foremost to set his own head straight.
I also don't think his strong focus on prophecy would do Anakin much good. This is all very hypothetical but honestly Obi-Wan already did incredible work raising Anakin, all things considered, and I don't see what Qui-Gon could do that Obi-Wan hasn't tried. I think the only potential Masters who might actually ultimately change the timeline if they had taken on Anakin would be, idk, Mace or Plo? Food for thought.

What if Palpatine slips up and Fox discovers the Sith code? And goes, huh, that looks like a sensible set of rules. What then?
Peace is a lie, there is only suffering. Through suffering, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me.
Fox doesn't know *when* he found out about The Code. He didn't know about it when he left Kamino and he doesn't remember hearing it from anyone afterward. The knowledge is just *there*.
But.
It just makes So. Much. Sense. The first part (Peace is a lie, there is only suffering) is objectively true and the rest? Lays out a path for success. And it totally works! (He gets The Code put up on one of the walls of their HQ. Something that useful? Needs to be *shared*.)
Instead of being beaten down by the suffering he and his men experience, he can follow the Code and allow it to strengthen them. It's them against the Senate, against the whole galaxy even, maybe, and once he's decided to Do Something? Well. That conviction *is* power. As is the degree of control the Corries can exercise over the Senate, the very nerve center of the Republic, should they choose to do so.
And if the Code says to use that power to gain victory? Well then it's just a matter of deciding what victory looks like, isn't it? That victory involves every being who ever abused a Corrie getting a blaster to the face? Shouldn't have been a bunch of chain gilding brother raping shabuir'e, should you? Karma motherfucker.
Fox kills Palpatine personally. (Something prompts him to do it while the chancellor is sleeping. Fox trusts his instincts. And he's a soldier. He's in favor of effectiveness, not grandstanding or torture in the name of revenge.) That after the fact the Corries discover Palpatine was a force user with lightsabers, a direct connection to the Separatists, multiple trillion credit accounts and the underpinnings for a galactic empire? Score!
But -- the Jedi are appalled.
Mace: This is the Sith code. You have to renounce it. Fox: Respectfully, sir (not at all respectful), if you want us to do something else, then make it so that it isn't true. Fox: Our lives have been suffering from decanting on. Of my batch, I'm the only one who wasn't killed for a cosmetic defect. I've gotten four hours of sleep out of the last 72 and all of it was napping while standing up during my Senate shift. Fox: You want me to make a different choice? Then make it so we're not suffering. Mace: That code is *wrong*. Fox: ::looks between him and the dead architect of the war:: Seems accurate to me. Mace: ::massaging nose:: Causing others to suffer is wrong. Fox: He didn't suffer. One shot through the heart, then a second through the head just to be sure. He didn't feel a thing. Unfortunately. Mace: ::growling:: Quinlain. Kriffing. Vos. You have a lot to answer for.
And that? Was a big mistake.
Because Fox? Has Opinions about Jedi. He's okay with them taking custody of the Sith artifacts, because that's *their job*. But individual Jedi? Plo Koon? Universally good. Obi-Wan Kenobi? Decent fellow, but Fox will shiv him if he breaks Cody's heart. Anakin Skywalker? Needs to be drowned. Shaak Ti? Useless and ineffectual. Windu? Well, he's not exactly been making any friends with his attitude, but he's the bane of Skywalker's existence, so Fox is inclined to give him some slack.
But if Windu's going after Vos? The one Jedi that's been anything like good to the Guard? Well... Fox has a lot of blackmail. And he's creatively vindictive. So:
Fox: If you try to punish Vos, you'll regret it. Mace: ::getting out lightsaber:: I won't let you kill me. Fox: ::disdainful eyebrow, scoffing laugh:: You wish. ::lifts comm to his mouth:: I'm just going to make sure that every theater on Coruscant is closed. Permanently. Mace: You monster.
Without an immediate physical threat, Mace has no grounds for lightsabering Fox. And Fox? Has employed his newly empowered Corries (and newly depopulated Senate) to implement Palpatine's empire. With himself in charge.
And of course Fox has gotten his hands on Palpatine's lightsaber. Thorn: Weren't you supposed to turn that over to the Jedi? Fox: I did. Thorn: Then what's it doing here? Fox: There were two. They got one, I got one. Thorn: ...do they know that?
That an empire run by a clone may not be what the galaxy as a whole wants? Not really something Fox cares about one way or the other. He wants to protect his people, starting with the Guard, then the rest of the Vode, then those they care about. That's it. And he has the power to do so, so he's going to make it happen.
But everyone who isn't a Corrie? Has no clue what Fox is up to. And so, once Fox has gotten far enough in his plans that his Empire is a reality and everyone else catches on to the new order of things:
Cody, Rex and Wolffe bursting into Emperor Fox's office: Cody: We can't let you kill our Jedi. Fox: ::blandly:: I'm not going to kill your Jedi. ::looks at Rex:: Yours, maybe, if you don't get him off Coruscant. Rex: ...that's fair. Wolffe: What? Buir said you follow the Sith code. Sith *kill* Jedi. Fox: ::rolls eyes:: I found a set of instructions that worked and I followed them. Does reading a blaster maintenance manual make you a blaster? Or an engineer?
And he's not wrong. So the commanders (and Mace) talk to the Council, who decide they want to see Fox personally. And, again, Fox has nothing against the Jedi (yet -- he has nothing against them *yet*), so he goes.
Council: What are your demands? Fox: As long as I'm emperor, whenever a Jedi goes on a mission, they're accompanied by the Vode. Council: That's it? You follow the Sith code?! Fox: Yes? I'm a dictator, not an asshole. I have no intention of hurting the Jedi. Yoda: The Sith, evil are. Fox: On the other hand, if you're going to define wanting to be free as evil I can always change that. Fox: And *unlike* you, my government will be actively freeing slaves. So much for Jedi being good, hmm? ::micdrop::
He never relaxes the requirement that they be accompanied by the Vode -- because Jedi, the good Jedi anyway -- are stupidly self-sacrificing and deserve to be protected like an endangered species. (The bad Jedi? Like Krell? Can be Dealt With like everyone else who's harmed a vod. Looking at you, Kaminoans.)
The merely annoying Jedi? Those can be dealt with more creatively. Mace intelligently backed down. Yoda and Anakin however face constant annoyance. (Really, from a certain point of view, Fox is doing Amidala a *favor* matchmaking her with Thorn.)
Vos: You know, you *are* making someone suffer. Fox: Yes? Jedi: Anakin. Fox: I'm not drawing strength from his suffering or whatever it is you think I'm doing. Fox: I just hate him. Vos: …that's fair.
Fox ends up leading the first *successful* Sith empire, handing it over to Thorn and Padme's daughter in a peaceful exchange of power when she gets old enough. While the Vode have settled all over the galaxy (and a surprising number on Kamino), Fox chooses to retire to one of Palpatine's many many estates to live out his remaining years in peace, accompanied by a remarkably large portion of the rabidly loyal former Coruscant Guard.
And Vos. Because despite everything Fox has done to normalize the Sith code as a way *out* of suffering, the Jedi are still close-minded judgmental religious fanatics who hold the fact that Vos fell against him even though they *ordered* him to do it. Even though he clawed his way back while they tried to tell him it was impossible. (And if Fox has plans already drawn up for a Force-sensitive Sith order? Well, Fox has a *lot* of plans.)
And if Vos being with him means that Cody visits more often so that Kenobi can see his best friend? Well, Fox never minds getting to spend time with his Vode.
He'll talk Kenobi into being the grandmaster of the new Sith order eventually.

you, entirely | obi-wan kenobi
pairing: obi-wan kenobi x female!reader
part I
summary: obi-wan kenobi’s relationship with the reader over the years. reader is a senator & the pair navigate their complicated relationship over the events of episode I & II.
setting: breaks in between the movies, please don’t think too hard on it because the timeline is a bit fuzzy to me in general :)
word count: 5.7k (HOLY SMOKES)
warning(s): canon typical violence, me not fully understanding the prequels & politics please forgive me, probs some inconsistencies with star wars canon, kissing
author’s note: hey everyone! i promise i’m still working on “your friend, ben” i just have had this story stuck on my mind for a while. i plan on expanding this into a second part because we don’t really see what the intro alludes to with it’s angsty description (it will come, i promise!). i’m nervous about how this will be received only because i’m not as well versed with the ins & outs of the prequels. that being said, i still hope you can find something to enjoy within this.
thank you!
Tumblr media
What are we? You had asked him. Doomed, forbidden, foolish. Those were the words that came to mind. Good, heavenly, wonderful echoed in his mind, louder. Obi-Wan could not understand how something so right could be the very antithesis of his being.
He had been warned of this very thing. He had been told to guard his heart. He had been told not to stray from his purpose. He did not listen. He couldn’t help it, really. He was convinced that it was fate, something even Master Yoda could not deny.
Something so strong that no amount of training could stop him from loving you. It was blunt and forceful, ironic considering his devotion to the force is what kept him from you.
It had started off innocently enough, merely as a pursuit of companionship with you. When you had first met Obi-Wan it was before the true weight of the war was known, before the death of democracy and freedom. Both of you were far younger and more hopeful. With blazing eyes and determined hearts, you each shared a passion for helping others.
That was probably the first thing Obi-Wan noticed about you, your selfless and compassionate nature. You’d admired his strong sense of duty and morality. It was a shame you’d grow to become a threat to those traits.
Your first encounter was simple enough, Obi-Wan was assigned to oversee your appointment as a senator and your induction into the Republic. The ceremonies had gone well, no need for Jedi interference after all, and there was a party being hosted in your honor.
After Obi-Wan essentially lived as your shadow over the three week long process, you’d grown to enjoy his company and, though you’d never admit it aloud, crave it. Obi-Wan always told you the truth, something you valued considering the lack of it in politics. He was a righteous man with a good heart, you didn’t take his character for granted.
You’d insisted on him making an appearance at the party and with enough convincing on your part, he obliged.
You kept me safe this entire time, the least I can do is let you to partake in the festivities! Sort of a means to an end, you had told him.
Obi-Wan had argued that since there was no danger there was really no reason for him to celebrate.
You then commanded him that your first act as a senator would be demanding Jedi involvement at the party, specifically, a dance.
So obliged maybe wasn’t the right terminology, forced was more fitting.
Nevertheless and ever the dutiful Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi made his appearance. What harm could acting as your shadow for one more night do?
Though he loathed politicians, he found himself enjoying the evening. Even if he was just watching as a figure in the background, he could see the joy radiating off of you in your smile and how thrilled you were for your future. It was something you’d worked hard for, after all.
You had been busy chatting with your guests and attending to the caterers, making sure to thank them before you recognized Obi-Wan. You approached him with a grin and refrained from pulling him into a hug, instead extending your arm for a handshake.
His hand grasped your own and he shook it gently, a small smile forming on his face.
“How do you feel?” You asked excitedly.
“Glad that you stayed safe.” He answered sincerely.
“Thanks to you.” You pointed out. “I’m grateful, truly.”
“Well, on behalf of the council, I’d like to congratulate you on the beginning of an exciting career.”
Your nose wrinkled at his formality, “Hearing you refer to politics as exciting has got to be a bigger surprise than you actually showing up here.”
He chuckled lightly at that, “I suppose so.” He then continued with a hint of a smirk, “But if I remember correctly, this was an order from you, Senator.”
The emphasis on the way he said senator made your stomach flutter, but you shoved the sensation down. You rolled your eyes at his retort and broke eye contact, glancing around as live music started to play and couples began to pair up.
Before you could say something fill the silence, Obi-Wan spoke up.
“I would have come either way.” He announced. “I must admit while this is not my scene, I’ve enjoyed your company.”
You turned back to him with a shocked expression, his admission leaving you silent.
“For a politician, you don’t seem to have a lot to say.” He quipped.
You blinked at him, dumbfounded, and cleared your throat before speaking, “As a politician, I’m not used to blatant honesty. You’ve simply surprised me, Obi-Wan Kenobi.”
He frowned slightly, “Is that good or bad?”
You eyed him with an amused expression, “For an all powerful Jedi, you seem to have a lot of questions.”
He laughed and you joined in, embracing the warmth that came from the interaction.
“You really are a politician.” He said, laughter still evident on his expression.
“And you really are as noble as they say.”
Obi-Wan smiles and his eyes only seem to amplify the tenderness behind it.
“I have something for you.”
He quirks his brow up at your statement, “Oh?”
You fumble in your pocket before pulling out a silver pendant attached to a brown leather band. It’s engraved with the Jedi emblem and a branch of leaves weaving through it. You hand it to him and he gently places it in his palm, tracing the indentions in the silver stone.
“The branch represents friendship and good-intent, it’s a message for anyone who encounters my planet, one of hope.” You explain, watching as he inspects the piece.
“I hope it’s not too much or anything, I just wanted you to have something as a token of my thanks.”
He looks up with an unreadable expression and pockets the trinket, “It’s perfect, really. Thank you.”
You nod, “I wanted to give it to you before you left, you know, as something to remember me by.”
“I don’t think I’d be able to forget you.” He admits.
“Now you’re really mocking me, Obi-Wan.” You say lightheartedly, refusing to even acknowledge the vulnerability from his last statement.
Obi-Wan’s mouth opens to reply, but a man comes to your side and offers you his hand.
“I’d love a dance, Senator.”
You smile gracefully and accept the man’s offer, bowing to Obi-Wan before mouthing a silent goodbye.
He watches as you dance with the man and twiddles with the pendant in his pocket. The words ‘it represents friendship’ echo in his mind. He’d be lying if he said he wasn’t touched by your actions. Obi-Wan had grown fond of you over the past few weeks, something he wasn’t sure what exactly to do with.
As the party died down and guests started to leave, the young Jedi still remained. He was leaning against a column in the foyer before you finally noticed his presence after waving goodbye to a guest.
Your furrowed your brows when you saw him, “You’re still here?”
He nodded, “My job isn’t done yet.”
“I haven’t requested anything else.” You replied, confusion evident in your voice.
“I believe I owe you a dance.”
That surprised you.
Two for the Jedi, none for the senator.
“I was only teasing when I requested that.” You explained.
“I know.”
Obi-Wan extended his hand towards you. You cocked your head at him with as if asking really?
He offered you a reassuring smile and nod in return, beckoning you towards him. A childlike grin, despite your best efforts, found itself upon your face. You approached him slowly and bowed before placing your hand in his. His other arm went around your waist and you placed your free hand on his shoulder, squeezing it gently. The music playing was somewhat slow and let the two of you fall into a nice pattern of swaying.
You felt the warmth radiating off of his body and decided to lean into his touch, craning your neck to speak lowly in his ear, “You really didn’t have to do this.”
“I don’t mind.” He answered simply.
You pursed your lips and continued to sway with the music, “I didn’t realize dancing was part of a Jedi’s duty.”
He shrugged and dipped you slowly, flashing you the most infuriatingly handsome grin, “It’s not. I just happen to be good at it.”
Your head rolled back as you laughed at his cockiness, something you didn’t expect from him. He joined you in laughter and as you faced him once more it became clear how close your bodies really were.
“Besides, it’s the least I could do.” He offered.
“For what?” You asked him.
The music swelled and he then spun you out before pulling you back into him gently.
Ever so close.
“As a thank you. For your company.”
His cool breath fanned over your lips as he spoke.
“It was my pleasure.” You respond, never breaking eye contact.
You continue to dance together, both of you pretending not to notice how close you’ve gotten and how the air around you has shifted. The music has slowed significantly and you continue to look at one another while swaying, your eyes reflecting what could only be described as tenderness.
His gaze flicks from your eyes to your lips and if there ever was a time where a kiss was expected, it was now. Obi-Wan slowly leaned closer into you, leaving your noses brushing against one another, your lips one slight move away from touching. A silent question hung in the air, a question asked by him, with an answer expected from you.
But you knew it wouldn’t do any good. He should’ve known that, but he didn’t seem to care. You were frozen, not giving into the moment, but not wanting to give it up either. It was a weird feeling, to want something so bad and withhold from it, only to keep the tension of it alive.
Just as the weight of everything started to crush in on you and you considered the possibility of leaning in, the song ended and couples around you broke contact, bowing to one another. You both stayed locked in your embrace. It felt as if the air around you had stilled and no one else was around.
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding before breaking the contact and smoothing your gown. When you look back at the man in front of you his expression is unreadable, yet again.
You nod at him, hoping it says everything you’re feeling, but knowing that’s not possible.
He smiles, understanding an implied thank you from you this time, “It was my honor.”
You start to walk away, but he reaches out and squeezes your hand gently.
“I look forward to hearing about everything you do, Senator.”
You turn around and smile warmly, “And I, you.”
Obi-Wan wasn’t sure if he’d see you again, but he kept the pendant from you, he didn’t delve too far into why. He kept it fastened to a loop on his belt, a reminder of your friendship.
It was a year or so before he saw you again. You both had changed a lot since then. You were well into your career, a successful one at that, and he had been busy with his padawan, Anakin Skywalker.
You were relocating permanently to Coruscant to be closer to the senate and more involved in your work. What you hadn’t expected was to run into Obi-Wan Kenobi right as you arrived at the capital.
“Senator!” A familiar voice called out.
You recognized the smooth voice instantly as he called out your name this time, no title necessary. When you turned around, you were face to face with the Jedi master and his padawan. He looked good, you noted. His hair had grown out and his features were somehow even more handsome than before.
“Master Kenobi, it’s a pleasure.” You greeted warmly, a genuine smile gracing your face.
His eyes twinkled and he returned the smile with his own brilliant kind.
The kind that would make you swoon.
The kind you needed to stay away from.
“The pleasure is all mine, I’ll have you know I’ve been keeping up with your career since just a year ago.” He admitted, almost bashfully. “You’re a force to be reckoned with.”
You chuckled lightly, “I’m honored that a humble senator like me would even cross the mind of a grand Jedi master, you must have an abundance of free time.”
Obi-Wan’s gaze shifted to the young man before him and he shook his head, “Not with this one around, I’m afraid.”
You directed your attention to the padawan and smiled kindly, “You must be Anakin.”
He nodded and extended his hand to yours, “I take it Obi-Wan has mentioned me before?”
You take his hand in yours and shake it firmly, “No, I only assumed.”
Anakin seems somewhat dejected. Obi-Wan arches his brow at your comment and you smile knowingly.
“You’re not the only one who’s kept tabs over the past year.”
“I’m flattered, Senator.”
Anakin’s eyes shifted between the two of you, you chose to ignore it.
So did Obi-Wan.
“Well, Obi-Wan, it’s my first time in Coruscant not confined to the Senate building and I can tell I’ve been missing out tremendously.”
He nods.
“What might a humble senator like me do on her off hours in such a place?” You inquired.
Obi-Wan considered your statement, taking it as more of a proposition than anything.
“Allow a friend to escort her wherever she pleases.” He answered finally.
You grinned at the Jedi and felt a warmth envelope your chest.
Maybe this move wouldn’t be so bad after all.
After he had dismissed his padawan, Obi-Wan dedicated the rest of his day to allowing you to explore the city and showing you all of his favorite spots.
He brought you to Dex’s for a meal, showed you an art exhibit that was his personal favorite, and even brought you to the temple gardens. You made note of a shop he pointed out mentioning it was where he bought good teas from.
You noticed through your trip that Obi-Wan was far more open now, something you think was good for him. He teased and even flirted, another thing you certainly weren’t going to complain about.
It felt as if you’d only seen each other the day before and no time had passed at all. The sound of his laughter was something you didn’t even know you had missed. His time in your life just a year ago, while significant, was only a three week period. It was strange how much a shared past could bond two people.
When you stopped for caf in the city, Obi-Wan was messing with his belt under his robe, “I want to show you something.”
“You’re making it very easy for me to take this in the wrong context.” You teased, eyeing the way he was fumbling with his belt.
He huffed lightly in amusement, “I assure you Senator, I would never.”
He continued to struggle before he grinned and extended his palm towards you, proudly displaying a stone pendant attached to a leather band.
You gasped lightly, “You still have that, after all this time?”
He nodded, “Of course I do. It’s a token of friendship, you don’t throw that away.”
You chuckled at his seriousness, “You’re right.”
“I’ve kept it fastened on my belt, I wasn’t sure why, but I just felt the need to keep it.”
“Politician’s guilt.” You joked, taking the pendant in your hand, examining it.
Obi-Wan smiled at you, his eyes crinkling in the corners.
“I’m impressed it’s not blown to pieces by now with all the action you see.” You mused.
“Actually I’m impressed you didn’t throw it away after I’d given it to you.” You said casually, running the smooth stone against your fingers.
He furrowed his brows in confusion, “Now why would I do that?”
“I didn’t think you liked me. You were so serious, so stoic.” You teased.
He frowned, “I’m not stoic.”
Maker, even his frown was handsome.
You grinned at him, “There, that’s what I mean!”
His frown deepened, “What?”
You tried to hold in a laugh, but your amused expression betrayed you.
“What is so funny?” He insisted.
His frustration only made his sharp features more handsome, but you’d never tell him that.
“Your expression, it’s the very face of stoicism itself.” You finally explained.
Obi-Wan scoffed and rolled his eyes, “That’s just my face!”
You shook your head and laughed lightly, “Besides, it was clear you didn’t like politicians, I never considered myself exempt from that.”
“You’re crazy! I was in awe of you Senator, your passion was remarkable and if anything, I was intimidated by your presence.”
You shrugged, “I don’t remember it like that.”
“If I remember correctly, I came to your after party and danced with you.” He argued. “I don’t see how you could misread my feelings towards you.”
“A party I requested your presence at, and a dance I demanded from you.” You countered.
“I told you I would’ve come either way.”
You pursed your lips, “Then I guess we were both equally as clueless.”
He sighed, “I suppose I’ll work on my stoicism, but you need to work on reading me if we’re to continue this friendship.”
You grinned and placed the pendant back in his hand, “Deal.”
Obi-Wan had ended the night by escorting you to your new apartment and with a gentle kiss to your the top of your hand. You were shocked by his informality, but in no way was it something you’d dare to bring up to the Jedi. He did not address the intimacy from the moment so you went along with it.
That was the start of his fall from grace.
Since that day, the two of you stayed close companions. He’d be seen escorting you to and from senate meetings, making sure you arrive safely. You could be found seeking out his company whenever you got the chance. Whether it was exploring the capital together or simply meeting for tea in the afternoon, you always made time for each other.
At the beginning, Obi-Wan was frequently questioned on his apparent attachment to you. He’d always write it off as looking out for you, pointing out that he witnessed the start of your career and had maintained a healthy friendship with you since. It seemed to satisfy those who inquired.
The questioning did not stop on his end however, you were also constantly asked of the nature of your relationship. You insisted it nothing more than a sense of safety and protection, something engrained in your being since the start of your career. You teased that it was his way of keeping himself from being lonely.
The two of you became a well known pairing across the capital, something the council did not approve of, but couldn’t really do anything about. Obi-Wan had assured them time and time again there were no attachments outside of the kind you have for an old friend or colleague.
You just happened to be both.
Besides, they had no reason not to trust him. You didn’t harm his image in any way, in fact, you seemed to have enhanced it. For a Jedi who hates politicians to be seen so close with a Senator spread the message of unity within the capital. Something no one would deny.
It wasn’t until a rather compromising conversation that made you worry of the Jedi’s affections for you.
“I think I’m going to get married.” You had told him.
Your announcement had shocked him, you weren’t courting anyone or known to have any close relationships besides him.
Instead of showing his surprise he simply sipped his tea and set the cup down, “When’s this happening?”
You sighed, “Well, my team seems to think it will help my image. An alliance with someone powerful is what they want.”
He hums slightly, “What do you want?”
“To not have to be married to be taken seriously.” You answered honestly.
Obi-Wan nodded in understanding.
“But, the more I think about it, the more it seems to be a reality I need to face.”
His brows furrowed, “You’re powerful enough without an alliance or marriage.”
You placed your head in your hands, “I know, I know. It’s an insult really, but one they continue to throw in my face until I eventually give in.”
Obi-Wan moved closer to you and bumped his shoulder against yours gently, “They should know better than to expect that from someone as stubborn as you.”
You chuckled and returned the gesture, leaning into him slightly, “You’re right.”
“Besides, what happens when you find someone you love and want to marry?” He asked.
“I don’t think I will ever marry.” You confessed. “Not for love anyways.”
Obi-Wan frowned, “What else is there to marry for?”
“Wealth, power, influence.” You listed out plainly.
“You’re sounding like a real politician now.” He said with a teasing lilt to his voice.
“I know. It’s a shame.” You sigh dramatically.
He laughs at your antics before taking another sip from his cup.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do about this, Obi-Wan.”
“Don’t get married.” He offers. “Tell them you won’t do it unless it was for love, that way you never have to. Then it’s an honorable lie.”
You consider his solution, nodding thoughtfully.
“That would work.”
“Don’t let it get out though, otherwise you’ll have loads of people hoping to woo you.” Obi-Wan warns, half teasing, half serious.
You chuckle lightly, “I doubt anyone would care. If anything I will have sealed my fate as the spinster senator.”
“No, I don’t think so.” Obi-Wan says. “I think you’re far more alluring than you realize.”
His comment makes you pause. It was frustrating how much of an effect his words had on you. Obi-Wan was always able to make something monumental sound like the most simple and true statement in the world.
“I think you’re far too fond of me to see reality.” You say finally.
You were right. He was far too fond of you.
Instead of arguing further, Obi-Wan basked in the silence you shared. Not an awkward kind, it was natural, comfortable even. Something he’d grown used to over the past few years.
Still, he could sense you wanted to ask something. It was radiating off of your body every second you spent in silence.
“You want to say something. I can feel it.”
You shift slightly towards him, resting your hands on your knees, “I’m not sure if I should. I wouldn’t want to offend you.”
His nose wrinkles, “I know you well enough to know you’d never miss an opportunity to offend me.”
“It’s a serious question.” You explain.
He hums, “Ah, I promise to answer it seriously then.”
You take a deep breath, choosing your words carefully, “I’ve just never heard of a Jedi having opinions on love.”
Your question doesn’t bother him. He nods in understanding.
“We don’t.” He answers. “But my master was more liberal in his approach to such matters. When I was younger, it was something I thought about often. How could we call ourselves protectors without love or attachments? I think love, whether it’s platonic, romantic, or familial, it strengthens us.”
He continues, his voice growing soft, “While my duties prevent me of experiencing it, I think of marriage as sacred and a celebration of love. Not something for politics to exploit.”
The words rolled right off his tongue so naturally, it was hard not to be somewhat affected by his confession, but you knew better than to go down that path. You weren’t sure what to say without compromising your heart even further, so you opted for telling the truth, a bitter one that stung.
“I think that’s beautiful, Obi-Wan.”
“I do too.” He affirmed.
You stay silent, your face pinched in contemplation.
“What?”
“If it were up to you, would you do it?” You almost whispered, fearing your words would shatter the tranquility around you, scare him away.
He doesn’t respond, he only looks at you earnestly before taking in a deep breath and nodding.
You don’t say anything.
“Knowing myself, I probably would’ve tried to marry you by now.” He confesses.
Your body stills next to him. With those words, it was Obi-Wan who had effectively shattered the air around you, leaving both of you helpless and surrounded by the aftermath of his sharp tongue.
He reaches out to take your hand, but you avoid his embrace with a swift recoil of your hand. It burned hot where his fingers had lightly grazed yours.
Your name falls off his lips, soft and light, but you interject.
“I think it’s best if you leave.”
Obi-Wan didn’t argue. In fact, he agreed with you. He wasn’t sure what came over him to be so honest, so blatant, and so not the Jedi he should be. Instead, he was a fool going down the very path he was instructed, begged, not to.
After he left, you spent hours revisiting various tender moments you’d shared, analyzing them and going down a tunnel you knew you shouldn’t. That one comment had managed to offset years of pushing away feelings and burying them deep. It made you reconsider your stance with the Jedi.
But before any headway could be made, Obi-Wan had come back to your quarters that night with an apology for his behavior. You accepted and only wished you two would not address the interaction again. He agreed.
It was a month before you saw him after that and the circumstances were far from glamourous. He’d been injured critically on a mission and it was entirely your fault. It wasn’t supposed to be anything more than a simple humanitarian trip you were taking to an outer rim planet. Obi-Wan was there as your guard, per your request, but you had assured him it wasn’t anything more than a peaceful visit. You were wrong.
It was a blur mostly, how everything went down. One minute you were in a crowd handing out rations and supplies with your crew and the next thing you knew there was a loud rumble and screams. You had reacted quickly, warning the people around you and helping them to what you hoped were safe buildings. The ground was shaking from explosions and smoke and dust quickly filled the air.
You kept assisting people around you and directing them to find shelter. The explosions were getting stronger and felt closer, adding more chaos into the mix. You kept searching for others in need of help, coughing as you made your way through the area.
Another explosion went off to your left and you stumbled a bit, but kept your balance. Rubble and debris was falling all around you and it became clear that this was no accident.
You relented on and were helping people who had fallen when you felt a firm grip on your arm, immediately recognizing Obi-Wan’s familiar hold on you.
“Obi-Wan!” You exclaimed in relief. “We need to get these people out of here! It’s not safe.”
His gaze was full of worry and he kept his hold on you, yelling above the chaos, “Senator, I need to see you safely aboard your cruiser!”
You tried to pull away, but his grip did not budge, “Not until we ensure their safety!”
“The only person’s safety I am concerned of is yours!” He insisted.
You shook your head vehemently, “My presence is the reason for this, it must be, and I will not let these people suffer because of me!”
The ground shook once more as another detonator went off, his grip on you loosened as you both stumbled.
“Please, come with me back to the ship!” He pleaded.
“We can’t leave like this!” You argued.
You managed to pull away from his grasp and started to run towards the smoke when Obi-Wan yelled out your name. You turned around to look at the man and beckon him to join you when horror etched itself upon your face.
Above the Jedi was a crumbling column and the debris was beginning to fall. You couldn’t do anything except watch and make your way towards him as fast as possible, crying out his name. That was the last thing Obi-Wan saw.
When he woke up, the first thing he felt was warmth. He could feel your presence, your very being. It engulfed him. You were worried and concerned. He felt a firm weight in his hand, it was yours.
You had been at his side since your crew brought his unconscious body on board. You felt horrible about being the reason he was pinned under the rubble, even more so being the reason for the attack in the first place. The Separatists had somehow got word of your humanitarian mission and had sabotaged it with a bombing.
You immediately arranged for aide to be sent to the planet. The only thing that kept you from staying was making sure Obi-Wan was alright. Things had been shaky since the marriage conversation and this seemed like a time to rekindle.
As he stirred awake your face lit up and you exhaled in relief.
“Obi-Wan.”
His name was like a lifeline when it left your lips, heavy and full of feeling.
He opened his eyes and turned his head towards you, squeezing your hand lightly.
“You’ve been out for a couple hours.” You explained. “You sustained some damage, but a lot of the larger debris managed to miss you.”
“Lucky me.”
You nodded, “A few days spent in bed and you’ll be fine.”
He hummed in acknowledgment, not sounding too thrilled at the prospect of being bedridden.
You took your free hand to fix his hair, carding your fingers through his soft auburn locks.
“Obi-Wan, I want to apologize.”
He shook his head lightly, closing his eyes, “It was not your fault.”
“It was. You would not have been near that column if I had just listened to you. You would not have been on this trip if I had not requested you. Your being here, hurt, is because of me.”
“I agreed to go on this trip, I chose to accompany you, it is no one’s fault.”
You shook your head, “You’re too kind to say it’s my fault, but it is.”
“You cannot go down that path. I’ve been there, it won’t lead to any good.” He insisted.
“I’m still at fault, no matter what you say.” You argued.
He huffed out a small breath, “Are you going to argue with me while I’m injured?”
You sighed and continued to stroke his hair, relishing in the way reacted to your touch, “Still, I’m sorry.”
He kept his eyes closed, “I’m not.”
You didn’t respond.
“You’re safe. That’s what matters.”
“Not to me.” You whispered. “I need you around, Obi-Wan.”
He opened his eyes to be met with your glassy pair.
“There isn’t a time in my career where I haven’t had you at my disposal, General.” You continued with a shaky voice, “I must admit that I have grown to care for you over the years, a little too much, I think. I just want you to be safe.”
‘A little too much,’ echoed in his mind, Obi-Wan smiled lightly.
“I am safe.”
You sighed again, but didn’t say anything.
“You forget yourself, Senator. My duty was to you, to keep you safe. I did my job and I have no shame for it.”
Your hand moved from his hair to cradle the side of his face, your thumb brushing over his cheekbone. He let out a contented hum at the movement.
“I wish there was a world where we could exist without all of this, then. Where we could just have each other.” You said quietly.
His cerulean eyes gazed back into yours earnestly, “As do I.”
You smiled at him sadly and leaned down to press a soft kiss on his forehead.
“Get some rest, General.”
You volunteered to take care of Obi-Wan when he returned to the capital and he did not refuse you. Part of it was guilt over his injury, but another part of it that you’d never admit to was simply wanting to take care of him. Obi-Wan never let people help him, he always went about things on his own and you knew it wasn’t good for him.
But he let you take care of him and that alone spoke volumes. You’d spent most of your time making his teas, reading together, and even cooking together. He insisted on helping with the food, he didn’t like to be still for so long.
Every night, you’d go to the balcony of his apartment and watch the sun set. It was something simple and serene, something that required no negotiations or arguing, something you could simply be in.
It was a solace to you both. Normally you sat in silence, but on the second night of his recovery, Obi-Wan broke it.
“If it weren’t for your company I would have returned to my duties by now.”
“You’re all better, then?” You inquire, staring off at the sun set.
“I think so. I’m restless.” He replies.
“You can still be restless and injured.” You counter.
Obi-Wan stays silent.
“What would you do on a day off, General? Perhaps there’s something light we can do tomorrow to abide your restlessness.” You suggest.
“I’d find you.” He answers.
You turn your face towards his and feel warmth spread across your cheeks at his words. His eyes are on you, inviting and tender.
“You’ve found me.” You manage to say, softer than you’d like, suddenly feeling like the air around you is thick.
“It appears so.” He muses.
You turn away, but can still feel his eyes on you. It makes your blood burn.
“I can feel you staring.”
“Would you like me to stop, Senator?” He asks, accenting your title teasingly.
You bite the inside of your cheek to hide a smile and clear your throat.
“No, I only think you’ll regret missing this brilliant view.” You say carefully.
“I don’t think I will.”
You let out a shaky exhale and put on a brave face, “Obi-Wan, I need you to listen for a second.”
“Okay.” He says pliantly.
You sigh and bask in the silence before speaking, before breaking the dynamic you’d grown to love, “I understand your want, Obi-Wan, and please don’t think I’ve not felt it, this care we have for each other. I have yearned over the years and pined and wanted. Truly wanted.”
You break his gaze, looking to the sun set once more, “My comfort has for these feelings has been knowing it, we, cannot be.”
He furrows his brows in confusion and approaches you, resting his hand on your arm gently, “I don’t understand.”
You look back up at him through your lashes, your gaze wistful, “But now you’re here, looking at me with the most lovely eyes I have ever seen, wanting, and I cannot go on denying it anymore.”
He strokes your shoulder with his thumb.
You lean into his touch and bring both of your arms to rest on his waist, “I want you, entirely.”
The weight of the confession leaving your lips is freeing, yet all the while terrifying to think of. It’s always been Obi-Wan laying himself out for you and this time, it’s you. No quick wit, no sharp defense, no excuses, just pure vulnerability.
A part of you fears this was a game to him, to see how long you’d hold out for. You lost the game if that were the case, but deep down you know he’d never do that to you. Another part of you fears this will be the end of both of you, a burning love that only leaves despair in it’s wake. If that’s the case, you hope the burn lasts long.
Not giving you anymore time to think, Obi-Wan wraps his arms around you and pulls you into his chest. You exhale in relief and hold onto him tightly.
“I’m all yours.” He whispers, featherlight, into the crook of your neck.
You stay still for a moment before he pulls back to look at you, cupping your face in his hand, “May I kiss you, Senator?”
You swallow thickly before flicking your gaze over his lips and then back to his eyes, “You know, if we cross this line, we can never go back.”
He nods, “I’m aware of what’s at stake.”
You arch a brow, “And you’re still willing?”
“Without question.”
Those words were all you needed to hear. You inched your face closer to his and let your nose brush against his, as if making a move in a game, signaling for his turn. Taking his cue, Obi-Wan closed the gap between the two of you and pressed his lips to yours with a tenderness you didn’t know was possible.
It was sweet, slow, and loving. You let yourself live in the moment, memorizing the way his lips slotted against yours like they were made just for you, the way his beard lightly brushed against your skin, and his calloused hand against your cheek.
He smiled against your mouth and let his forehead rest against yours, “You’re wonderful.”
That night you refused to think of the reality of your situation, and instead you enjoyed Obi-Wan and all of his loveliness.

First post of 2024, let's go!
First off! I'll be picking up my goal of 100 books a year again and will post a tracker next, feel free to join in and/or give recommendations as the year progresses. ❤ I'm a voracious but lazy reader, so I don't venture outside of my usual circle of authors as often as I should, which is actually the point of the tracker!
Secondly, I want to show off the podfic @sweet-cynic did of stubborn in the bones and the delicious Padobi/Masterkin @ossidae-passeridae wrote for silly ol' me. 💕
stubborn in the bones (podfic)
surrender | be moved and shaken
Yessss, yesss, look at the pretty, look at it!
Third, and really what you're interested in--State of Fic Updates and Previews!
ACTIVE WIPS:
[Hartwin] a tender gasp of inevitable ache ch2: 3k in, rough outline written out. Guesstimating something like 6k for this one.
Then Merlin pipes up.  “God, I thought you two couldn’t get more obnoxious.” Neither of them starts. Kingsman trained them too well for that. But Eggsy’s fingers curl around the stem of his fork before relaxing. Since there’s no data being fed into his glasses, he assumes this is an informal check-in.  He places another forkful of tender, exquisite salmon on his tongue, closing his lips around the tines and dragging the fork out without breaking eye contact with Harry. This might be mainly to yank Merlin’s tail, but he can’t deny that Harry watching him make a slaggy spectacle of himself ignites a forbidden, heady thrill. It’s better than the cock of a well-oiled gun—better even than firing off a snazzy one-liner when taking out bad guys.
[Hartwin] always be something sacred ch3: 1.6k in, some thorny things to work out. Might be a split POV chapter, might also end up being 5 chapters total after all, we'll see!
“Opinion on a blockade?” Harry asks, shrugging off his jumper, heading for the hidden armory beneath the staircase. He’d long ago bought and hollowed out the neighboring houses that bracketed his own for security and usage—pressing his palm against the wooden panel reveals a hidden entrance.  It’s amazing that Eggsy, despite all his rightful suspicions and cleverness, has never figured this secret out. He would have loved it. There’s no need for Harry to close his eyes and imagine that boy’s delight, he knows the exact grin that Eggsy would flash, his choked, skeptical laughter, his glee. How carefully Harry would have to watch his hands to ensure that Eggsy didn’t pocket anything.  Pain digs sharp claws behind his breastbone. He ignores it. Regret can come later, after Eggsy isn’t at the mercy of an unknown enemy.
[Obikin] Untitled -- Alpha!PadObi/Beta!Masterkin: smutty irredeemable oneshot, ahoy!
Obi-Wan groans again. He stumbles onto his sleeping bag and lies there, gritting his teeth. Through their bond, Anakin experiences an echo of the pure need threatening to drag the nineteen-year-old into a feral state.  Or that will kill him.  Anakin swears in Huttese. If he were better at mind suggestions or at meditation, if he could karking heal, he could help. If he were an alpha, he could superimpose his will and force Obi-Wan to calm down. And if he were an omega… Well. Anakin didn’t successfully see one Padawan through an intergalactic war only to lose his second Padawan to something as ridiculous as this.
[Obikin] Untitled2: another irredeemable smutty oneshot, yay!
“Are you sure that you’re alright, Anakin?” Obi-wan asks for the third time, exasperated to the point where no matter what Anakin claims, he’s going to stop their walk and examine Anakin from head to toe. But instead of lying again, Anakin, who has been making the strangest noises as they pushed through the wildly lush jungle that covers the planet, groans piteously and stops so suddenly that Obi-Wan almost runs into him.  “Anakin?”  “I’m—kark, don’t make me say it.”  Since Anakin stubbornly refuses to face him, Obi-Wan circles around to find Anakin flushed and sweaty, his lips torn from biting down.
[Obikin] Untitled3: probably still irredeemable but not actually smutty! for @sweet-cynic, a bit of a... TMA-SW fusion AU? (featuring Priest-Wan because we could always use more of that.)
The day Obi-Wan Kenobi stumbles over the bedraggled figure curled up tight at a corner of the stairs leading up to the church is already one of exhaustion and fury drowned in alcohol. He is in no charitable mood, but discovering a small child wedged tight against the stonework in the middle of the night, with the chill of an early winter creeping in, horrifies him into action. Are they dead? Obi-Wan wonders, leaning down carefully. Wrapped up in misery and in shapeless, grimy garments, the child is nothing but a genderless mop of blond hair and too-pink ears peeking out from the collar of the jacket they’re wearing, some cast off business jacket for an adult repurposed for warmth against the bitterness of October.  He clears his throat. “He—” Blue eyes snap open.  Too blue, too bright, there’s not enough light that I should be able to see the color. But Obi-Wan doesn’t pay that thought as much attention as it deserves. “Hello there. That doesn’t seem terribly comfortable." The poor creature—Obi-Wan still cannot pinpoint a gender, the face dark with dirt—shifts away from him, inching to regain space as if they don’t trust him despite the markers of his office, the collar, the coat, the cross weighing heavy on his chest.
NEXT UP:
airline Obikin shenanigans for @virahaus
even more shenanigans set in bones of a miracle for @gretchenzellerbarnes
A coda for all things unsaid
I'm hoping Untitled2 will be finished today, but we'll see. :) After some of these go up I will finally get back to working on fear the crown and the devil is a gentleman. They're long overdue for updates. (Also have my eye on you should see what we do in my head--definitely want to finish that this month.)
And that concludes the State of Fic! ❤ If I have forgotten anyone or any thing or you have a question about a fic not mentioned, please give me a poke.

— prompts:
🥂5. shh. there are other people in the room.
🥂7. we have to make this quick.
Tumblr media
“Yes, that’s exactly the problem! There’d be way too much movement at once, and the kids need stability. You can’t just change up their schedule like th— Obi-Wan, can you come here for a second?” You call out, and he takes any chance to get away from the mind-numbing conversation he was currently trying to phase out, nodding at the councillors and taking the few steps backward to come next to you.
“Have you spoken to Master Kloon about the extension of the arena in the East wing?” You go to put your hand on his arm, but the builder you were talking with is staring too intently, and you lose your nerve. “Without it, the kids would have to go back to the old building on Coruscant halfway through their second semester. It’s too much moving.”
“I’ve already sent the message, but he’s off world until next week.” He says in his most calming voice, but you are too strung out for him to have any effect. Here, he is powerless to help you. With all these people around, at least.
“Okay. Okay— that’s fine, we’ll just have to delay the building in the East all together—“
“But then where will we start?” The man in front of you asks, and you take a deep breath in before answering.
“The… you can start the—“
“We have five hundred guys out there. We need to start something today.” Obi-Wan goes to say something, but you speak before he gets the chance.
“Yes. I know that, which is why you can all start the removal of the old common room. There’s tonnes of old furniture to be lifted out, and we need to break the walls down before we can start the conversion. That should last you until next week?” The builder doesn’t have anything to say— it’s a bad job, one that he had clearly hoped to avoid by coming a week early, but he just stands back, bows, and once his back is turned, you finally let out a frustrated sigh.
“You handled it well.” He wants to reach out, do something; anything instead of just standing here like he’s just another person in the crowd to you. But he’s not. He knows if he can just have you alone for more than three seconds—
“Your Highness? We need to discuss the blueprint plans for the East Wing.” Your eyes find his, and it takes everything in him not to throw you over his shoulder and run you out of here.
Ever since the council had chosen your planet to be the next home for a new Jedi academy, he hadn’t gotten a second of your time. Even when you managed to sneak away in the middle of the night, the two of you were both so exhausted that you could hardly manage more than a few stolen kisses goodnight before you fell asleep. Not that he didn’t savour every second your skin was next to his, something he was constantly in search of during the day and never able to obtain— but he needed you. And he knows you need him too.
He turns, catching you on the arm. Your eyes are wide when you turn back to him, not shock or concern, but just curiosity. Almost like you were challenging him— questioning how the hell he was going to get you out of this one. He hadn’t really had any ideas, just the thought of letting you go, not seeing you or touching you for days was making him irrational. So, he does the most unprofessional thing he thinks he’s done in a long while.
“I was speaking first, Your Highness.” You turn your back to the group of people, all murmuring to each other, so they can’t see how your eyebrows raise and the giant grin on your face.
“Oh?” Despite your smile, your tone remains completely regal and composed. “You think you are a more worthy use of my time then the other forty men waiting for me?”
He knows it’s on purpose. It’s true— there is a giant group of men waiting for your attention, but it’s the way you say it. That secret smile on your face, and the way you nearly purr the words at him.
“I know I am.” You scoff, and that is entirely real— no royal tone about it.
“Perhaps I need to speak to you in private, Master Kenobi, so you can learn how to better speak to your allies.” Instead of replying, he takes a step to the side, allowing you to lead him out of the room.
The rest of the people behind you look slightly scared for him, but as soon as he turns the corner, your hand shoots out from a doorway, yanking him inside. When he gets his bearings, he realises you’ve pulled him into the supply closet— random items shoved on shelves surrounding you. He very quickly loses interest, because then you pull him again, your face shrouded in the dim light, but he knows exactly where you are once you lean forward to kiss him.
His whole body relaxes as your hands thread through his hair, and the sound of your soft moans as he presses into you is music to his ears. He holds you by your hips and lifts you up, sitting you on the desk behind. It would of made him blush— how quickly you open your legs for him and pull him against you, but he’s too needy, too much time as been wasted for even the slightest hint of modesty.
“Let me—“ Obi-Wan starts, but you shake your head and kiss him again. In truth, he wanted to jam this door closed and keep you here for the rest of the week. It was the first real time he’d gotten with you in what was— he couldn’t think right now, but he wanted to make up for lost time. He could feel you against him, warm and needy and wanting and all he could think of was dropping to his knees in front of you.
“No time. Please… I need you to fuck me. Now.” Your hands fist tighter in his hair, kissing down his neck and as much as he wants to take his time, relieve all your stress from the inside out, he knows you’re pressed for time, and he could never say no to you. “We have to make this quick.”
With your legs spread open for him, he can’t help but slip his hand between your bodies, swallowing your soft moans when he slowly circles your clit over the fabric of your underwear.
“Always so needy for me.” You whimper as your forehead falls to the crook of his neck. “So perfect. I missed you— I…”
“Fuck, I know. I’m s-sorry I just… fuck, please. Tonight. You have to come and find me tonight.” He was already nodding, his mind filling with all the possibilities. “Please, Obi-Wan.”
“Shh. There are people in the other room. You don’t want them to find you like this, do you?” He pulls your underwear to the side and lines himself up with you, running the tip of himself over your clit making you bite down on your bottom lip. “Imagine their faces— Your Royal Highness, spread out for her council member so desperately.”
“Obi-Wan…” You sigh and he doesn’t waste another moment, slowly sliding himself into your heat, delighting in the relieved sound you sing into his ear. “Oh fuck…”
“You okay, my love?” You hum into his neck, nodding as your hips roll to meet the movement of his.
Every thrust has him seeing stars behind closed eyes, and the way he can tell you are trying to keep yourself quiet only drives him to fuck you a little harder. It’s a mean thought, the more deranged part of him that only you seem to awaken makes him want the others outside to hear you.
He wants them to know how good you are, how you are so strong and smart and break so easily for him. He can’t take his eyes off the way he can see the frustration of your conversations melt away, and you let yourself completely fall apart with him.
“Close— fuck, don’t stop.” You whimper and tighten around him. Items fall off the shelves around you but neither of you care enough to stop, and even Obi-Wan can’t contain the sounds he makes as he feel you cum around him. The feeling breaks him, too, and both of you move out of sync to ride out your rushed orgasms together, the room full of hot air and pleasure.
“Fuck, baby.” Obi-Wan kisses your collarbone, then your neck, and finally finds the energy to kiss your lips, tasting sweetness like he’s never had. It was always like that, kissing you. You were unlike anything he could remember— not even the Outer Rim had anything that tasted as good as you.
“I missed you so much.” You begin to catch your breath, and he helps you off the shelf, taking his time in letting the fabric of your dress drop. “I’m sorry I’ve been so busy, I just needed you so bad and that guy was driving me up the wall and… fuck. I missed you.”
“I’m happy to have been useful, Your Highness. I am ready to serve in any way. At any time.” Your smile nearly lights up the room, and he puts his hands on your hips, slowly drawing you towards the door. He kisses you on the top of your nose, and even after everything you just did, the gesture makes you blush.
“Can’t we just stay in here?” You press your forehead to his, and both of you sigh, knowing you wish you could.
“I wish we could.” He flicks the lock on the door, and you groan, kissing him for a final time before leaning to whisper in your ear.
“You better come find me tonight. I have a whole list of ways you can be useful.” His eyes widen when the light of outside floods the storage room, and it takes him several moments to collect his thoughts before he can find his legs and walk out to follow you.
He watches you from across the room as you return to your conversations, breezing through them with a new found sense of calm that he claims reason for, and begins to count the long hours before he can have you in his arms again.

Thank you all SO MUCH for the lovely prompts!
Lucky us, AO3 has returned (join me in raising a toast to that most excellent team of volunteers), so most of your prompts will be saved for a rainy day or to hammer away at writer's block the next time such a weapon is necessary--
But.
One of those prompts lodged itself in my brain. So you get this. Thanks very much, @153-centimeters-of-sass, you evil, evil bastard <3
The prompt in question:
Needle or Stitch gets stuck in a time loop, reliving a Bad Day over and over.
(PLEASE HEED THE WARNINGS IN THE TAGS.)
Shockingly enough, the Sith temple itself had been surprisingly easy to navigate.
No traps. No ghosts. No vision-induced fainting spells.
Obi-Wan ducks into the (comparative) warmth of the command tent. None of the men have shucked their coats-- it's still Abregado, still well below freezing-- but at least the risk of frostbite is reduced.
Slightly.
They'd recovered the bled kyber crystal easily enough. No pedestal, no case, no honor for it-- they'd found it simply discarded in the corner of a hallway, cracked and bleeding and screaming so loudly that Obi-Wan had known immediately that this is what had called to the Jedi loudly enough that a whole battalion had been sent to investigate.
Gods. Even now, shields raised as high as he can manage, he can feel the tidal wave of its pain battering at him. He spares a thought to be grateful that none of the men are Force-sensitive. To be exposed to something like that-- with no shielding--
Its power is immense, and it is in agony.
That sort of pain doesn't tend to care if it spreads or not.
This is what they are here to discuss now-- how best to contain it, until it can be safely remanded to the Temple for an attempted healing. They may need to break it fully-- kill it, dull it, put it out of its misery, but that is a cruel death and one that no Jedi would wish on a kyber.
Obi-Wan peels off his goggles, nods at Cody, opens his mouth--
And pivots immediately when he senses the bloody smear approaching.
Like a trail of blood left behind after a dragged body, in the Force-- only an echo of life, a memory of it, but somehow still moving-- he lunges at the entrance, tears open the flap-- not knowing what he expects, who he expects--
But he knows he was not expecting Needle.
Needle, who's in his blacks and nothing else-- the blood trickling from his nose freezing to his face in the same instant, bare hands scraped raw from the wind, the skin on his face dry and cracked, and for a moment Obi-Wan can do nothing but stare, because-- he'd seen Needle, just yesterday, whole and firework-bright, what had happened--?
"Sir?" Needle says blearily. He blinks, and Obi-Wan realizes with a slow sort of horror that the tears have nearly frozen his eyes shut. "You need to kill it, sir."
"Kill it--?"
"It's hurting, sir. It's hurting, and it keeps dragging me with it."
The second morning, Needle thinks it's just a nightmare.
He's never had a nightmare before. Any dream at all, really. He guesses it was something during the reconditioning. Something broke. Crossed wires, maybe. He's never mourned it, though, not really, because-- the way Stitch and Helix react, sometimes, the silent tears, the not-so-silent whispered confessions, of warped memories that seem almost foolish in waking--
Needle does what he can. And what he can do is be awake when they wake up shaking, so he can sit with them and remind them of what's real.
He learns their patterns, and stays awake, and doesn't envy them much at all.
He'll take what respite he can get.
And in the morning-- in the morning, when he blinks at the ceiling and promptly vomits over the side of the bed--
He thinks, at first, that his luck has run out at last.
Hands squeeze his shoulders, and he looks up, gasping for breath, ragged inhales, because Helix was--
Here.
In front of him.
Hale and whole.
Alive.
"Nightmare?"
Needle stares at him.
How--?
A gentle shake.
"Needle."
"I-- guess so."
It must have been. It must have been, then, because Helix is here, cupping the back of his neck, gentle and warm and grounding, and not on the ground with gray matter splattered out behind him--
Little fucking gods. Is this what they meet every night?
No wonder he has to keep cleaning the bucket.
"Can you eat?" Helix-- HelixHelixHelix-- asks. "We're heading out in half an hour."
He nods.
He can't stop staring.
A warm bowl of oatmeal is pushed into his hands..
"Eat," Helix orders. "You need it."
Needle picks up the spoon.
Something roils in the pit of his stomach.
"Helix?"
Helix pauses, looks back at him--
"Are you-- feeling okay?"
His expression softens.
"I'm fine, sweetheart," he says, and wow, Needle must look really bad--
He nods, wordless, and spoons some oatmeal into his mouth.
It tastes like ash.
He absentmindedly plucks a fly from the top of the bowl.
Funny. He remembers that, too-- from the dream.
Odd.
Later, he yanks Helix down, out of the way of the blaster bolt that had punched through his helmet in what Needle is coming to suspect might not have been entirely a nightmare--
Right before the ice cracks under him.
Helix doesn't even have a chance to scream.
Later.
In the medtent.
Stitch, tucked under his arm.
Dry throat. Burning eyes.
(Helix is--)
"It was only a nightmare," he says, to the empty room. As if the words themselves can do something-- can be something-- can be, in the end, only a nightmare indeed-- as if by saying it, he can go to sleep and wake up and Helix will be--
(Helix is--)
He presses his cheek to the top of Stitch's head.
All hollowed out.
(Helix is--)
"It was only a nightmare."
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
It was only a nightmare.
Helix vanishes under a rockfall.
(Needle is not a stupid man.)
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He signs up with a different squad.
A pale-faced Obi-Wan comes to deliver the news himself.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He sneaks laxatives into Helix's breakfast to keep him off the field.
The cliff gives way under Stitch's feet, and Needle is too slow to grab him.
He has time to scream.
He doesn't.
Needle watches him fall, small and silent, and thinks he can hear the impact.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
This time, he gets dragged under with Helix, and has to watch his brother bleed out.
Half-conscious. Smiling at him.
"N'dle."
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He walks into the 'fresher and shoots himself in the head.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
It's him and Stitch who get trapped, this time.
Stitch does not smile at him.
Stitch is deeply, deeply afraid.
Stitch is gurgling around the blood in his throat, around the branch that's lodged itself in his chest-- Stitch is reaching for him and Needle reaches back only to realize that Stitch wasn't reaching for him at all, he was reaching for his blaster--
Blood-stained lips move--
"Please--"
Needle cradles the back of his head.
"It won't stick," he promises. "It won't."
A choking noise--
"Please--"
Needle obliges.
In the second after, he realizes that was his last shot.
He slumps backwards, against the rock, and waits for the hypothermia to get him.
After a moment, he picks up the corpse's hand, cradling it.
It takes some time for his vision to go dark.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He blinks at it.
"You hurt Stitch," he says, very quietly. "You made him afraid."
He picks up the fly.
Very deliberately, he plucks its wings off before grinding it under his boot.
"Tell me who you are."
(He doesn't know how much more of himself he can afford to lose.)
(He doesn't know if there's anything left.)
The next four times, he doesn't bother to get out of bed before reaching for his blaster.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
There are so many ways to die in war.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He thinks he will witness every single one.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He is getting really fucking sick of oatmeal.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
This will not save them.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He sets his blaster to the side.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He goes hunting.
(Ghost had found something in the Temple.)
(They'd brought it back.)
(They'd had a meeting, in the morning, before Needle usually preferred to wake up.)
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
He finds the case they'd put it in.
It's bleeding.
And he's a medic.
He sinks to his knees. Picks it up--
The call goes out.
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
"How do I fix this?"
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
"How do I fix you?"
He wakes up.
There's a fly in his oatmeal.
"Oh. You don't want fixing, do you?"
He wakes up.
He wakes up.
He wakes up.
He starts laughing, one morning.
He can't change his damn alarm, because it won't stick.
And he keeps missing the meeting.
And then they have to go to war.
And then they die.
Again.
He waits until Helix leaves the room to reach for his blaster.
Even knowing they won't remember-- he won't remember--
He still doesn't want them to see.
It takes a whole week for his body to finally get the message.
He's in his blacks and bare feet, when he wakes up, and it's still dark outside.
It's still dark outside.
A faint flicker of something that's still Needle deep inside him--
RUN--
He does.
(He picks up his blaster, first. Just in case.)
He finds the General.
The General looks at him like he's dying.
The General looks at him like he's already dead.
The General--
Nods.
Turns.
Movement around the box.
Movement around him.
"Did he kill it?" he asks.
He doesn't think he's heard anything but his own breathing for days and days and days.
He's lost count.
Someone says yes.
"Okay," he says, and raises his blaster.
Part 2 will be coming out tomorrow!

Sith Obi-Wan Fic Rec List
Been feeling a certain kind of way lately and I can’t remember if I ever made a Sith Obi-Wan rec list, so, even if I have, there’s been more since I made it. Yeah. Oh! Some of these contain spice, and I will let you know which ones do lol (indicated by the ***) and they will be different pairings
I’ve got a few fics that I need to re-read that aren’t recced here so...yeah. Also, this isn’t the longest post, but I’ll still put everything under a “read more”
I Got My Head Checked by @frostbitebakery - Below the observation deck, the Marshal Commander of the Third Systems Army is being divested of his armor and weapons, shackles heavy on his wrists. He doesn’t struggle, only a mulish stubborn twist to his jaw showing his displeasure at the situation. Obi-Wan opens his eyes, steps back from the observation window. “I need a week.” OR: In which Cody wasn’t trained for a Sith sliding into a moral dilemma because of him. ***
veil of shadows by amidnightlove - Raised as Sith, Obi-Wan knows all about the Rule of Two: one Force bond, two Sith.Expecting to bond with his Master -and then overthrow him- he never expects to be ordered to bond with the new and mysterious Darth Vader. ***
Ghost at the back of your closet  by @other-peoples-coats - Bail first meets Ben in less than ideal circumstances, which he should have taken as a warning sign but failed to until it was far, far too late to admit he'd missed it. (Things go much worse for Initiate Kenobi, on Bandomeer. Years later, Bail Organa meets a young man in a cell who calls himself Ben, and then proceeds to discover that the Republic he values is nothing but a thin veneer over creeping rot. There's only one way to deal with rot — cut it out, down to the last inch. It's hard work, long work, but no one has ever accused Alderaan of lacking in commitment.)
You Shall Become (Me)  by jedipati - The Guardian of the Sith Temple doesn’t particularly care for the new breed of Sith, for all that they’ve been around for 1,000 years.  But they’re the only Sith the Guardian knows about.  Until one day… Alternately, "How to accidentally join the Sith without really trying."
What came after by @galateagalvanized - “Are you all the Council sent, then?” Bo-Katan asks, swinging one leg over the speeder’s seat. Her voice is raspy, and Cody wonders if it’s from smoke inhalation. “Considering they wouldn’t help with the first Sith, I guess I should be glad for any help at all with the second.” It's the first time he's heard someone use that word to describe Kenobi, and he bristles. “We’re not here on behalf of the Council, Miss Kryze. We're here for our general.” Or: Everyone has a breaking point. That includes Obi-Wan. That includes Cody. ***
Fallen (Series) by @thebisexualmandalorian - How did Obi-Wan fall? (Summary from first fic in series)
A Beast Among Bookends; or, How to Domesticate Your Feral Librarian by @the-writing-mill - A separation and a tumble on a mission leads Obi-Wan Kenobi down a different path in life. Years later, during the clone wars, the 212th is sent to take out Darth Libri after failed attempts by both the CIS and Republic to sway him to their sides. The mission does not go well. But if Cody choosing to stay with the vode's nightmare for a bit can spare his brothers, well... that's not really a choice, is it?
Polaris (Series) by @bluemaskedkarma - What if Obi-Wan Kenobi never went to Bandomeer? What if, instead, he got on a different ship? Those steps set into motion an entirely different future, one where he takes on different names until an unlikely friend gives him one that sticks--Red. All he wanted was to help those in need, but somewhere along the way he became the one who needs. Who will help him?

Can’t stay away
---
Pairing: Obi wan x reader
Contents: His life is falling apart without you in it
Warnings: none
Word Count: 1000
---
This has been your busiest week. Taking stock of inventory especially after the separatists built another droid army meant the republic was stocking up as well. You wander the endless rows of supplies and artillery, making sure you tick off your checklist after having each item scanned. It was cumbersome work.
When you snuck a glance at the empty corridor, you could make out the silhouette of a person who was approaching you. You turn all your attention towards this being when you caught on after having observed his stride. It was General Kenobi. His cloak swaying around him as though he were a royal who had lost his crown. You flip over another page and get on with your work, he greets you. You try your best to not look at him.
“Council has sent me over to review the latest shipment.”, he states and you knew he was lying. “The only person authorized on this floor, is me.”, you fold your arms and place the clipboard over your chest, a shield against him. You inspect a blaster and then put it back. “I have clearance.”, he holds out a sheet of paper to you. You take it from him but your eyes land on his to catch a glimpse of desperation. The first mistake. He had given you a form that had granted him access to this level. You inhale sharply as you give it back to him. “The latest shipment is up front.”, you instruct him and get back to your checklist. But you could still sense his presence, he hadn’t moved away. You look back at him. The second mistake.
“Why are you actually here, Obi wan?”, you ask pushing your bangs into place. “I needed to talk to you.”, he admits but you didn’t want to indulge him. “There’s nothing left to talk.”, you say and move away from him, deeper into the equipment aisle but he follows. “Why did you assign yourself here?”, he asks tailing you but you pick up your pace and he somehow matches your speed. “The least you could do is give me an answer after you chose to leave overnight.”, he gets a hold of your wrist but you pull away. “Fine. I wanted to stay away from you. Now you need to leave.”, you turn to walk away. But he whispers your name like he’s been reciting it ever since you left and some part of you longs for him, and that causes you to pause. The third mistake. Most people were easy to push away, but not him.
“What did I do?”, he asks softly, almost pleading with you to know an answer. You turn to look at him, his face jagged, the undersides of his eyes darker, his hair was a mess. He drags his hand over his beard in frustration as he sighs. “I don’t exist in your life, Obi wan.”, you root yourself to the spot you stood. “I didn’t matter. You hardly looked at me.”, you explain and his eyes widen, those blue marbles begging you to step closer. He took a step towards you. “That’s why I left. It didn’t seem right to stay in a place I felt unwanted.”, you turn away only so he can’t see you cry. But that’s the beauty about him, he’s already in front of you tilting your chin so you could meet his eyes. “You never told me.”, his eyebrows pinch together, as he cups the side of your face in his hand.
You lean into his warmth, like he was only ever made for you. “And would that have changed anything?”, you ask and expect to see him weigh his options but his expression softens. “Yes. I would have dropped everything to be there for you.”, he says it like a vow. “So it’s my fault?”, you furrow you brows stepping away from him. From his hold and his warmth. “No.”, he says instantly reaching out to take your hand like he didn’twant to lose you again. “I only wish you had spoken about it with me. But when I woke up to see you weren’t there. I –
He breaks, like he was a planet out of orbit. Holding your hand in his as though it was his anchor, to ground him. And so you step closer, his frantic eyes ease at the sight of yours. “It was a wake up call to a reality I had forgotten, my reality that would cease to exist if you weren’t in it ”, he continues and you let him get it off his chest, the words he had been mulling over. “I can’t stay away from you”, he states the edge of his eyes glistening and yet sounding resolute.
“Never.”, he sniffs.
“Wherever you go, I will be there.”, his hands slip around your waist. You hold his face in your hands, like you were reeling him to shore.
“Even if it means I need to work in inventory”, he places his forehead on yours, he sighs finally at ease. That holding you in his arms was the one saving grace that prevented him from falling apart.
“I didn’t want to hurt you.”, you whisper. Your heart breaking at the sight of his misery. You never wanted to hurt him.
“I know.”, he responds and you hug him. Wrapping your arms around him, you didn’t want to let him go. “I’m sorry.”, he says, his lips touching the tip of your ear. “I am too.”, you speak as you tuck your head into the side of his neck. “You do exist in my life, in the crumpled pillow next to mine, your jewelry placed next to my bottle of cologne, your clothes that hung in front of my cloak, your perfume and your laughter always around me. I haven’t put it in words but I always see you. I only wish I had let you know sooner.”, he pulls away to look at you. “We’ll do better this time.”, you trace his cheekbone and he smiles. “I would have come back in a few days time. I can’t erase you from my mind.”, you admit and he leans in. You close the distance, everything else fades and you feel the comfort of familiarity. A feeling no one else can give you, only him. You kiss him and he relaxes into you arms. You run your fingers through his hair and he sighs happily as though he had found all his lost energy. Turns out there was a perk to working in the Inventory, no one was around to bother you. And so you drop away your clipboard as he holds you close.

Anakin Masterlist
To say you were nervous was the biggest understatement of your life.
Anakin had asked you to meet him in his room because he had something very ‘Important’ to tell you that he’d been hiding for quite some time.
Your heart jumped as soon as he said those words.
He was your bestfriend and you don't know when it happened but you began to see him as more.
Scared of what your feelings would do, you kept them hidden in fear of rejection.
This was almost 4 years ago and now you were on your way to his room too scared to allow yourself to hope he was actually going to confess he felt the same.
Standing in front of his door you fixed yourself a little before knocking.
“Hey there babycakes come in, quick.” he said, pulling you in and shutting the door.
The stupid nicknames he gave you never failed to make you smile.
“So what is it that you’ve been hiding from me for months? I'm insulted by the way.” you said jokingly really your heart was pounding.
“ I‘ll tell you but swear to me you wont tell a soul.” he said in a serious tone.
Dropping your smile you looked at him and took his hand, “Ani when have  I   ever betrayed you.” you said looking into his eyes.
Smiling at you once more he felt relieved, “Well,  I   know it's not allowed by the Jedi order to have attachments but,” he paused and your heart was about to burst in happiness, this was it.
“Padme and  I  , we’re together now, we have been for some months actually.” he finished smiling, watching you for any signs of a reaction.
You stayed still as you felt your heart break into a million pieces,  if you hadn't known how to hide your feelings so well you might have lost it then and there.
“Y/n? Say something please?” he asked after a while.
“ I   uh  I   don't know what to say,” you paused trying to put on your best front for him.
“Aren't you at least happy for us?” he asked, worried you’d turn against him.
Us. And there it was the missing piece to the blade he’d stabbed into your heart.
It wasn't Anakin and y/n ‘Us’, it was Padme and Anakin ‘Us.’
You felt extremely sick and needed to get out of there and far away from him.
“Of course,  your happiness makes me happy Anakin, don't worry your secret's safe with me.” you said pulling your hands away from him and bee lining it for the door.
“Where are you going? It's Friday, Breakfast at Barbs?” he asked as he tried to take your hand once more but you quickly dodged it.
“Gonna need a rain check, Yoda asked to see me before coming here. Bye Anakin.” you said quickly before walking out.
Saddened by your rejection of your tradition Anakin let you go not knowing what to do with himself, you never rainchecked him.
As soon as you were out of sight you ran, hand covering your mouth to hold in your sobs until you reached your room where you were finally able to let it all out.
For the rest of the day Anakin hoped to ‘bump’ into you and talk but to no avail he found you nowhere.
He wouldn't have either way, you spent the rest of the day trying to piece your heart back together  as best you could before you had to come out of your room.
Deciding to do some meditation you allowed the light to embrace you feeling its warmth and just for a second you forgot about the day you thought would be one of the best but actually turned out to be the worst.
Sighing, you opened your eyes.
It was no use it all came back as soon as you opened your eyes.
Suddenly there was a knock on your door.
“Y/n it's me, Obi-wan.” Obi-wan said quickly you relax.
Opening the door you hoped your puffy face didn't give anything away.
Taking in your sad features his heart went out to you.
“Good evening master, how can  I   help you?” you said making him smile, even in your lowest moments you were still respectful.
“ I   just wanted to check on you, something strange happened today and it worried me.” he said nodding, asking if he could come in.
Stepping aside you let him in, “Is everything alright Master?” you asked worriedly. Missing a day sometimes meant a lot more than expected.
“Not to worry Y/n, the council is fine, it's Anakin  I  ‘m worried about.” he said as he took a seat out on your balcony he wanted you to get some fresh air.
“Anakin?” you asked confused.
“He asked me if  I‘d seen you today, usually you two are attached by the hip. Is there something going on?” he asked with concern evident on his face.
Sighing you looked down, “Just didn't feel like myself  is all,  I  ‘ll be back tomorrow master.” you said.
“Y/n,  I   came here as a friend not a master, what did he do?” he asked and finally your character broke.
“It’s me Obi, it’s my fault  I   fell for him and  I   can't pull myself back up anymore.” you said burying your face in your hands.
“ I   know Y/n,  I‘ve always known.” he said smiling softly, he had always imagined you and Anakin ending up together.
He saw the way you looked at him, but the way he looked at you was even more intense so when he saw your sadness he was confused.
“Well, he doesn't feel the same way he made it very clear today.” you said looking down at your hands.
Sighing Obi-wan wanted to know more but decided he had already pushed you enough.
“Well, if  I   can help you feel better in any way you let me know,  I   want to help you Y/n, you may not be my Padawan but you are my friend.” he said as he took your hand.
Holding onto his hand you looked him in the eyes and hoped he’d agree, “ Keep him busy and away from me, please?” you saw hesitation in his eyes.
“At Least until  I   can overcome this, have my back?” you asked again.
Finally he agreed, he didn't know how he’d get his stubborn Padawan to listen but he’d try for you.
“ I   will do my best, Y/n but please do come to me if you need a shoulder to lean on. I am always here.” he said smiling at you one last time before leaving your room.
His words brought you a bit of peace and hope that tomorrow wouldn't be so bad, all you had to do was get through the day.
Anakin woke up bright and early hoping he could sneak you away for the day and spend time together since he missed you yesterday.
Just as he was about to head in your direction he stopped, “Anakin there you are, walk with me.” Obi-wan said, walking in the opposite direction.
Sighing, Anakin stood in place, “Um master, actually  I   was hoping  I   could find Y/n?” he said hoping he’d give him a break.
“No need Anakin, she's gone.” Obi-wan said as he continued to walk knowing Anakin was now following him.
“G-gone? Where did she go? Is she alright we need to go get her.” he said immediately walking towards the landing bay worried about your wellbeing.
Smiling Obi-wan chuckled, how could he not realize his feelings?
“It's alright Anakin she’s fine and on a mission with Plo Koon they won't be back anytime soon.” he said as he watched Anakin's face shift from worry to disappointment.
“Oh, well alright, any date of return?” he asked, scratching the back of his neck.
“Maybe a week or so depends on how the mission proceeds.” Obi-wan said as he began to walk again.
Anakin felt a pit in his stomach, a week? You’d never been apart for that long before it was already driving him insane.
“Everything alright Anakin?” Obi-wan asked as he watched him begin to fidget with his cloak.
“Yes, Master it's just we were supposed to go to Barbs yesterday but we didn't and  I   thought we would do that today is all  I  ‘m sure everythings fine.” he said with a small smile.
Obi-wan felt terrible for keeping him away from you, but if it's what you wanted, he’d try.
Over the course of the week Anakin sent you messages to which you replied with one worded answers, occasionally two.
He began seeing Padme less and less and when he did all he did was talk about how you’d become so distant.
He spent more time sulking in the temple zoning out on your empty seat during mission briefings and meditations with the council.
He missed his silly best friend that never hesitated to make him smile, up until this point you hadn't answered not one of his calls.
He missed your voice.
The way you’d smile at his side comments during briefings, how you got excited for him everytime he was in the good graces of the council.
Overall, he missed the way you understood him, everyone saw him as an arrogant asshole who got privileges because he was brought in as the ‘chosen one.’
But not you, you saw him as Anakin and he loved you for it.
Suddenly he froze, he hadn't ever dared to have  said  it outloud.
Afraid of rejection and losing you all together he hid his feelings and tried to fall for Padme, she was beautiful, kind and had endless good qualities.
And for a second he thought it could work.
Now he didn't know so much, all he knew was that he needed you back by his side. He was losing his mind.
Deciding to see if his master had any good news for him he went to the briefing room where the council had been speaking to Plo Koon and possibly you.
Walking in he searched for his master but was quickly distracted when his eyes met your hologram figure.
“Y/n!” he said, excited he finally got to see you.
You looked beautiful and he knew the hologram didn't do your beauty any justice.
Looking over your shoulder you turned around and smiled, “Hey Skywalker, glad you could join us.” you said honestly.
Even though you’d asked for space you still missed him, it was nice to see him happy.
For a second you thought, He was happy because of Padme not you.
Cringing at the thought you turned back around and continued listening to Master Koon.
Just as the meeting was about to end you gave Anakin one last glance as you ended the call quickly before he could get another word in.
Sighing Anakin felt defeated, he wished he had more time.
“Everything alright Anakin?” Obi-wan asked, secretly he hoped he’d finally confess his feelings and you too would finally get together but for now he’d just do his part.
“Yes, Master she looks to be doing great.” he said, she looks even more beautiful he thought to himself.
God did he long for her touch.
“ I‘d hope so,  they delivered good news, they are on the way back now they should be back soon.” Obi-wan said, smiling as his dear friend pirked up and smiled again.
“Really? Well that's wonderful, Barbs is waiting for us.” he said excitedly finally he was getting you back.
That night Padme called him and to no avail the conversation almost instantly turned about you annoying her once more.
“Ani, is there ever anything else you want to talk about?” she asked over this conversation.
“What? No, she's my best friend and  I   haven't seen her in a long time.” he said defensively.
“You haven't seen me for even longer, don't you miss me too?” she asked, starting to sound annoyed.
“Of course  I   do, but Obi-wans been keeping me busy and Y/n has actually been away and we haven't spoken. I miss my best friend.” he admitted.
“You are unbelievable Anakin, I'm your girlfriend! Treat me like it for once.” she exclaimed.
“Padme-” he began but before he got further she cut him off.
“I've had enough Anakin,  I   don't know what changed but you need to make a choice. Me or her.” Padme demanded.
“Tomorrow if you don't meet me at my place for dinner then  I  ‘ll know.” she said before she hung up.
Sighing, Anakin laid in his bed and contemplated how he got to this point.
He sent out one last text before getting ready for bed.
Anicakes: Goodnight babycakes, hope  I   wake up to that pretty smile tomorrow :)
Just as he was trying to get comfortable he heard a notification ding  causing him to almost jump out of bed.
Babycakes: In your dreams Skywalker, Goodnight ;)
Smiling, he laid back on his bed and read the message over and over again, finally.
That night Anakin felt like he got the best sleep of his life after finally feeling like he had some part of you back.
Waking up he got ready as fast as he could and made sure he looked his best before you.
Padme's words did cross his mind for a split second before he walked out the door and on his way to find you.
Turning a corner Anakin froze in place when he saw you speaking to Master windu.
Smiling widely he noticed you were sunkissed and radiant all over, just beautiful.
As he was preparing to beeline his way towards you he was interrupted by his Master.
Frowning in confusion he turned to Obi-wan, “Anakin you are up early today, looks like we have time for some training, with me.” he said, beginning to walk away.
Internally cursing himself Anakin followed behind his Master looking back one last time to meet eyes with you.
Sending him a small smile you waved before you were pulled into the other direction with the rest of the council.
The small action made Anakin smile and encouraged him to wait a little longer.
After training with Obi-wan he was told there would be a debriefing on your mission so that's where he headed to next.
Looking through the numerous heads he finally found you in the crowd and smiled.
“Y/n!” he said loudly, making the entire room turn towards him and then you.
Smiling you were happy to see him, your chest still felt that painful sensation every time you got the reminder of him and Padme.
“Hey there Skywalker ooph-” you said as he practically took the air out of you when he picked you up.
You had missed his hugs so much.
Resting your head on his shoulder you smiled, the familiar warmth bringing butterflies to your stomach.
“God  I   missed you, babycakes don't ever leave for that long again.” he said, taking in that familiar scent whilst your touch brought chills down his spine.
Before you could answer Plo Koon began the debriefing so you went to stand behind him as you’d been chosen to join him.
Usually you would sit beside Anakin and listen to his little jokes but you still needed space.
You could feel his stare on you as you tried to focus on Plo Koon but god did he make it hard.
Thankfully it was over and you went over to speak with Obi-wan.
“Master Kenobi, would you have a moment to speak in private please?” you asked quickly before Anakin could interject.
“Of course we can speak freely in the meditation room.” he said looking around before pulling you away.
Anakin watched from a distance as Obi-wan rested his hand on your back and looked around before guiding you out of the room.
Glaring in his direction he decided to follow you both and find out what was going on.
As he followed you he began to notice Obi-wan's strange behavior when it came to you.
Not allowing Anakin to speak to you, pulling him to do stupid tasks when your were around, and now taking you to the meditation room?
He couldn't believe it, his master and his girl.
The doors closed and you were both out of his sight which angered Anakin even more.
Deciding he’d had enough Anakin stormed off and decided he’d wait for you in your room until you got back.
He needed to hear it from you first if you and Obi-wan were truly seeing each other.
It felt like hours had gone by and the sun started to set by the time you finally got back to your room.
After your conversation with Obi-wan you were pulled away by the council to be congratulated on a successful mission.
Usually you heard about these through Anakin so experiencing it first hand you couldn't be happier to be recognized by the council.
Walking back to your room you actually felt happy for once since last week.
That was until you found a moody Anakin in your room.
Quickly he used the force to close the door and lock it making you jump away from it.
“Have you been ditching me for Obi-wan? Is there something  I   should know, Y/n.” he said standing from your bed.
“What? Anakin Obi-wan is a member of the council and your master why would-” you tried to argue but he quickly cut you off.
“Cut the bullshit,  I   saw him take you away and to the meditation room. What were you two doing?” he said, standing very close to you.
Confused, you suddenly realized, “Were you following us?” you asked, slightly surprised by his actions.
If you didn't know any better you’d think he was jealous.
“Stop avoiding my question and answer me y/n what were you two doing in there?” he asked in a demanding tone.
Your hands began to shake, how were you supposed to tell him you were in there trying to piece your heart back together after he broke all the pieces.
“Do you, do you love him? Is that why?” Anakin asked in a whisper scared of what the truth could bring.
“He’s not the one  I   love Anakin.” you whispered, closing your eyes as you looked down avoiding his gaze as best as you could.
“Then who? Tell me you know you can talk to me.” he said, feeling his heart begin to break apart.
You loved someone.
“No Anakin actually  I   can't,  I   can’t talk to you because your with Padme and  I  ‘m stuck as the best friend whos hopelessly in love with you.” you finally yelled out.
“And  I‘m trying,  I‘m trying to get over this. I asked Obi-wan for help, that's all but you wont even let me do that.” you said walking away from him.
He froze in place taking in what you just said. You loved him.
The longer he stayed quiet the longer you’d felt you ruined what was left of your friendship.
“You should go.” you said as you played with the random objects on your desk trying to hold in the tears that threatened to fall at his rejection.
“No.” Was all he said before he turned you around and kissed you.
Anakin was kissing you.
Pulling away you looked up at him almost as if you had to make sure this was real.
“ I‘m sorry  I‘m an idiot.” he said as he kissed your forehead.
“But Padme.” you said, still a little stunned.
“We broke up.” was all he said, it was well past that dinner time but even then Anakin never had a choice to make, it was always you.
“ I‘m sorry.” You said, feeling terrible.
“Don't be she saw my feelings for you before  I   did, she just helped me make that last jump.” he said smiling, even now you were still worried for others.
Caressing your face he pulled you in for another kiss and this time you didn't pull away.
You allowed yourself to fall into Anakin completely and hopelessly at his mercy.
Pulling away he chuckled, “You know  I   came here with the full intention of kicking my masters ass if he walked in here with you, this is a much better outcome though.” he said holding you tightly.
You laughed, “As entertaining as that might have been, I like this outcome too.” you said, smiling up at him.
“Let's go to bed, babycakes, tomorrow morning we’ll go to Barbs. She probably thinks we’ve gone missing or something.” he said as he pulled you to your bed.
Fixing himself to lay on your chest he held onto you tightly, “Goodnight Ani,  I   love you.” you whispered gently massaging the back of his neck.
Smiling to himself he never thought his heart could feel more full, “Say it again.” he said in his little demanding tone.
“ I   love you.” you repeated grinning.
“Again.” he said once more, holding you even tighter than before.
“Ani you're squishing me!” you said giggling.
“That doesn't sound like an ‘ I   love you’ to me.” he said smiling, running his hands up your sides knowing you were ticklish.
“ I   l-love you Anikin!” You said squirming not being able to control your laughter.
“And  I love you babycakes.” he whispered as he leaned in, kissing you once more before you both actually went to bed.
Anakin was happier than ever, now he had his friend and his lover all in one.
Meanwhile, Obi-wan smiled at himself as he sensed his Padawans happiness through the force.
He knew that meditation room tactic would get him going.
“Another happy ending.” he said as he decided it was time for him to call it a night too.

If you are still taking prompts for the ask game: What about 🌿 💞 💌? Whichever you'd like, no pressure at alll -- 🤍@smoosey
Hi @smoosey ! Definitely still answering prompts this fine morn <3 (q's from this ask game)
🌿How does creating make you feel?
Creating makes me feel like I'm putting puzzle pieces together and it's very satisfying! Figuring out what pieces fit together, how to construct something in a compelling way -- and this is applicable I think to my sewing projects as well as writing ones. I can daydream about the mechanics of a clothing pattern or a story plot very happily.
💞What's the most important part of a story for you?
Especially if it's an AU, the worldbuilding is pretty important to me. For example, I was never that into DC Comics media because for some reason Gotham/Metropolis/whatever never felt fleshed out enough? They just sort of existed as isolates in some sort of general USA ether that I just couldn't get past to ever become invested in the stories or characters (I know this is very weird of me). So when I write a story, making sure I have a sufficiently solid grasp of the surrounding contextual world feels very important to me.
As well, characters and the way they interact with and know about this world is probably the next biggest part. Having a firm grasp of what a character does and doesn't know contributes to writing what a character would or wouldn't say or do -- keeping in mind the fact that the reader may or may not know things already about the world or the story too! These moving parts can make or break a story for me tbh. I'm reading a book right now that commits the crime of having a character experience an event in front of the reader and then two seconds later tell another character details of the event that just happened. I know character 2 needs to be told, but I just read everything that happened! I don't need to be told again! It becomes tiring.

I have one WIP right now that has been put on the back burner while [major but positive real life changes] happen. I am still very excited about it though, and think about it a lot; it's a combination of tomb raider style adventures and star wars universe aid missions, with a post-war codywan pairing. Without being too spoiler-y, I'm trying to experiment with different relationship stages as well as different framing circumstances, and it's another slight foray into horror story elements. I think I've found a good little snippet for you:
Cody doesn’t know why, but he thinks about the couple days after the battle on Moon L13-B2, when Obi-Wan just held him. His shoulders had fit just under Obi-Wan’s arms, chests half-overlapping on the bunk, Obi-Wan’s hand on the back of his neck. His robes had been so warm. He thinks about that moment while he run-stomps through the brambles, his own breath sounding loud inside the respirator, eyes trained on that gap in the fence where the bridge is. He can’t see Feliks very well, and he keeps having to look down at his feet so he doesn’t trip, and all he can think of is being held, that quiet rise and fall of breathing.
