wyll, in my opinion, gets the standard fare treatment for characters that are unequivocally good. i.e. people think he's boring and uninteresting. standard fare might be kind actually given the level of racism and unexplained slander (which is often just more thinly veiled racism). his reputation about being boring is not helped by the very blatant neglect of his storyline post his rewrite and release. as a wyll enjoyer i am hyperaware of the sorry state of his current story in all three acts
despite all of that and the glaring flaws - i still believe that wylls storyline is worth of being engaged with and explored.
one of the reasons (not the most major one, but one) i think wyll experiences so much neglect as a companion stems from a wider idea that "goodness" is always the uncomplicated, easy choice.
it's something i see a lot. wyll is boring because of his archetype as a princely and universally righteous guy. and this is interesting, because it always seems to functions under the assumption that wylls moral character is innate. that his heroic and righteous actions are in some capacity, uncomplicated.
uniquely among the male origin companions, through the course of wylls story - there is never a point in which he is at risk of making a truly 'bad' choice. both gale and astarions story have them at risk of making choices that are ultimately bad for them and others (especially tav when each character is romanced). gales godhood and astarions ascension are their in game moral failings. they are the result of having not broke the cycle and are 'bad' choices for the individual character.
wylls main choice is however his pact and the choice to break that pact. notably - wyll is never at risk of making a bad choice, only a selfish one.
from the critique i see of wyll - it seems like this is the element of him people find most egregious. he's too smooth, not rugged enough, not gritty enough. but i don't think wyll's character needs grit, necessarily.
if you take any time to dissect wyll at all, based on dialogue and character interaction, many of his choices put himself at the forefront of sacrifice. the game strips wyll of a lot of agency, but wyll also always abides by and sticks to his core belief. so often towards his own detriment.
not only does wyll bear the consequence of being turned into a devil (stripping him of the last remaining shred of identity he's ever had and one of the most important things in his life), he bore the burden of being banished when he made his pact, and was willing to do the same for the sake of his father when he is taken to moonrise.
and unlike gale (who i adore, to be clear) who's concept of self-sacrifice stems mostly from a low self-worth - the belief that dying is the best he can do - wyll truly views that it's better him than them.
wyll does not think twice about allowing himself to be the one to take the fall. he can play any part, take any role, even when these choices haunt him so obviously. wyll claims that he forgives his father, but opens up to you about fearing his feelings of missing him are one-sided. he believes that making his pact was the right choice, the one he would make again - but doesn't deny the obvious pain and solace that came along with being a wandering traveler and banished son.
wylls goodness is so deliberate. he is so staunch in upholding and acting on his beliefs that it is always narrative to his own detriment. when you view wyll like this , and view his choices with regards this character attribute, it is imo very hard to hate him.
wyll's goodness is his double edged sword. it makes him heroic, brave, fearless. and it makes him scared, uncertain and lonely. again, the story itself is bare bones and i understand that - but it is so very beautiful to me thinking of him and tav or just his general romance.
as wylls romance partner, encouraging wyll to break his pact is as tragic as it very beautiful. tav is wylls one selfish thing. one of the only reasons that would move him to not give himself up. one of the only reasons he is okay with forgoing his beliefs. he loves tav enough to break his own oaths, and make choices for himself and no one else. not as the blade, or as a ravengard - but just as wyll.
and that aspect of him is in my opinion, enforced, by the mindflayer tav ending. in which wylls monster-hunting and morals are made exceptions with / for tav. my enjoyment of hero corruption might be speaking for me, but i digress.
in every way though - i truly love wyll as a character. and while im well aware of the critical flaws in his in game story state, i think it's both unfortunate and unfair that people call him boring. to me he is anything but

clipsverse SWAP AU! for fun! character elaboration under the cut because it gets kind of wordy:
selina's deal is pretty straightforward: she has the typical “saw parents die as a child" backstory, but she’s obviously not a millionare so she’s operating out of some kind of condemned underground parking lot... somewhere. authentic gotham grunge i guess. she’s a functioning alcoholic and i am obsessed with her. she's a hardboiled detective like batman, but tends to be a bit more cynical - sort of like if rorschach from watchmen was a normal person and also didn't hate sex. firefly is her "guy in the chair" similar to what alfred is to batman in canon, minus the surrogate parent part, obviously. public opinion is pretty split on if the bat is a man or a woman under there. i don't really have swap ideas for the robins ironed out, but i'm thinking that cass and stephanie are her robin and red hood equivalents (cass being dick, stephanie being jason). cass would have an allblack bird theme going on, so she might be "crow" or "blackbird" instead of robin. dunno what stephanie's red hood rendition is like. purple hood? i'll figure it out eventually.
bruce’s parents are alive, but he has a terrible relationship with them and with his own wealth so he mitigates the guilt complex by dressing up as a cat to steal and redistribute resources to people who actually need it. he could probably do that in daylight but there is something very wrong with him. i don't think his dumb slutty playboy persona is entirely genuine even without his parents' deaths, but he does lean into it more and incorporate parts of it into his vigilante persona over time. i think this version of bruce is just generally very lonely under the surface. he tries to be normal in his daytime life and he's very bad at it - theft aside, in a certain sense being the cat(man? woman?) is his own break for freedom; he felt a need to plunge himself far into the deep end of what normal society calls a 'freak'. ...writing it out like this, we're probably lucky he didn't start killing people. fortunately batman isn't really that kind of guy in any universe.
meanwhile on the other side of the rails: ivy! her deal is slightly unformed right now due to the fact that the hatter and the joker also swap places in this au - so the hatter is a dangerous, evil mastermind intent on controlling gotham to suit their whims, and the joker is... just a harmless silly little guy. yeah. i don't have swap-hatter's exact personality ironed out yet, so detailing his and ivy's dynamic would be difficult, but i can say that while she is his loyal second-in-command at his table of advisors, she is also plotting against him. ivy is a consistent loner in both mainline cv and here, and while she doesn't have the same tumultuous, antagonistic, emotional relationship with him as harley does with the joker, she is also frankly not interested in being his number one until the end of time. she wants to do it herself and she wants to do it right. this is an ivy who, in lieu of her own world-altering gift, is scraping tooth and nail to successfully supersede the most powerful entity she can her her hands on. the hatter is blissfully unaware of this - we can't all be perfect.
harley, for her part, is very tame in comparison. she mirrors ivy's canonical backstory pretty closely: an esteemed scientist studying stem cell relations who was denied funding, mocked, and forced to experiment on herself to prove a point, unwittingly connecting herself to a worldwide hive-mind of plantlife. this version of harley, while still dressed as a scientist, is far more surface-level emotionally volatile than mainline ivy, more impulsive and irrational, and probably willing to lean much farther into the classic poison ivy reputation as a villainous seductress, to varying degrees of honesty and success. it takes ivy an incredible degree of patience and control to maintain the mental and physical balance she strikes with the green, and this version of harley has far less of both. she lets it use her body as a conduit of earthly rage and she lets the poison infect her skin and organs until mottled and decaying. she's not unhappy, but she's not exactly stable, either.
jonathan is a mysterious, faux-sleazy lounge singer who lost his left arm to a snake bite infection as a child and thereafter became obsessed with the symbolism of the balance of life via games, tricks and questions - winning and losing, birth and death, etc. the ouroboros is a common symbol in his theatrics. he possesses a certain degree of social confidence that the mainline jonathan has never quite been capable of - while he doesn't have the same fervent need for attention as edward, he takes a compulsory delight in the mental influence he achieves on small crowds and will employ many avenues to get ahold of it. he's certainly not outgoing: he keeps almost entirely to himself offstage, uninterested in fame outside of his show persona. unlike mainline jonathan who views the scarecrow as a genuine self-inflicted diety, this jon sees his persona as more of a mantle or responsibility that he must take on in order to discover new truths about the world. like his canon counterpart he is asexual and uninterested in sex, but i imagine that he has less qualms about leading people on as an act to get what he wants from them. he's not terribly famous in his singing career, but he's become a bit of an underground legend for his resolute 1920s-inspired style and occasional genuine debonair charm.
edward in comparison is not nearly as ritualistically compelled as mainline scarecrow, but he’s far less cagey about his own machinations and his mental relationship to them: he lives in a tricked-out barn somewhere on the far outskirts of gotham, and he spends his time as a propmaster creating elaborate saw-trap-esque haunted houses and escape rooms to invoke panic in his “guests”. he wanders the halls of his own houses along with the guests, repairing and tinkering, or just scaring the shit out of them. he also makes a genuine living by making and selling cosplay props and other related objects online; he's developed a bit of an internet presence through this channel, though he's not as fixated on it as the mainline riddler would be. he still craves spectacle and attention, but he's more of a "quality over quantity" guy according to his own standards and is rarely happy with the work he creates, hence the endless roundabout of creation and reinvention.

Let's Talk About Trust, Baby
I've seen a lot of posts where people are really confused about Mew and where his head might be at with regard to his relationship with Top. Why he hasn't given Top the boyfriend title back, why they haven't had sex yet, etc. That led me down a rabbit hole of thinking about the relationships between the characters and the one thing all relationships need to function - TRUST. If you don't trust your significant other or your friends/family, etc, what kind of relationship can you even have? I tried to break this down in groups/pairs and some of it might not be as thought out, so there may be more on this as the show goes on but here we go.
The Fab Four
So there's a lot of context we're missing about the relationships between our core four dysfunctional besties (Note: So far, Cheum doesn't seem that dysfunctional, you're doing amazing sweetie!) such as how they met, how long have they been friends (what the hell Ray and Mew got up to that one night... *ahem* I digress). Now, we don't have any real answers to these questions (yet) so I'm taking some educated guesses based on my own college experiences and what I've generally picked up from other university BLs typical story telling.
I feel like the four of them met during orientation (except maybe Ray and Mew, I'm waffling on thoughts that they've known each other since high school). Most university BLs set it up that the mains meet during orientation, bond during whatever torture the seniors are putting the freshman through and kind of build their friend groups based on that.
I also feel like they may have gravitated toward each other or remained a group because they're all queer. BLs can go either way on whether or not homophobia exists in their narrative and I think that Only Friends is going the more realistic route (and it's Jojo) so I think that I can definitely see them bonding over being queer. They find an LGBTQ bar and it becomes their thing to do together. Most friendship groups form because people just sort of fall in together due to circumstance and they seem no different.
But do they trust each other? Signs point to yes. (I was shocked too, lol)
Mew and Cheum: We haven't had much focus on her, but he seems to value her opinion and listen to her advice. (We also know that April likes him from the time they've spent together and he likes April, so I would say he and Cheum probably have pretty good trust built up.)
Mew and Boston: He believed without a single doubt when Boston said that Top had never had a lover longer than 3 months and that Top would probably, as Ray put it "nail and bail" once Mew and Top have sex. Cheum also believed Boston. Do I think Boston was lying here? No. But neither do they and that's important. Does Boston trust Mew? I think he does. His issues with Mew are not about trust.
Mew and Ray: These two vibe a little different than the rest of the group. They seem closer; they seem like they've talked about "the deep stuff" (vs maybe superficial topics with their other friends). Their first one on one scene has them talking about Ray's alcoholism seriously (even though Mew doesn't push about it as much as I would have liked) and you can tell there's an intimacy there that the other group members don't share. Whether that stems from whatever it is that happened that night in the video (I am salivating about this, it's delicious, I need more info) or because they've been friends for longer, I don't know.
Let's move on to the pairs:
Cheum and April: Do they trust each other? I assume so? Cheum goes out drinking with the boys at least once a week and April seems okay with that (we haven't heard otherwise), so I'll say yes? (Jojo, I NEED MORE OF THEM. I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TO EVEN ANALYZE. GIVE US MORE.)
Sand and Ray: I'm gonna call this one as Sand does not trust Ray, but Ray trusts Sand. Sand knows that Ray is a walking red flag and he's trying to resist but Ray is making it really hard. *ahem* Ray bailing mid-make out is not helping Sand's trust issue. If you look at how Sand has cared for Ray since episode one, however, Ray most likely trusts Sand. I mean, Ray talked about his mom to Sand. I think that's a biiiig deal.
Mew and Top: Thanks to Boston, neither of them trusts the other. And this, right here, is why Mew has not moved the relationship forward. HE DOESN'T TRUST TOP. He's still worried that Top will "nail and bail". Remember Mew's checklist from episode two? He only checks off "gets along with my friends" (HAH!) and "respects me" but not "doesn't lie to me". We can infer this means it hasn't been marked off since he doesn't mention it to anyone in this episode. Given that a lot of us clocked Mew potentially spotting Boston's trunks on the floor in the shower, along with him questioning if Top was telling the truth about the fire, it's clear this is the one thing holding him back.
If Mew agrees to be Top's boyfriend, then the expectation of sex becomes a lot higher (it shouldn't but that's a different discussion to be had). It's also implied in the narrative (and from Jojo) that Mew is a very structured person and he doesn't like to lose control (re-watch the counter scene from episode one. You know you want to. I'll wait). The moment that Mew realizes that he is way too into what they're doing, he panics because he doesn't have control over the situation.
Up until episode three, Top did trust Mew. He trusted him enough to get vulnerable and then Boston blew it up by fabricating a narrative backed with evidence of...something between Ray and Mew (I'm seriously dying for this scene, I need it).
Another thing I am having thoughts about is that in this episode, Top referred to himself as Mew's boyfriend and so did Cheum and Mew didn't deny it like he did in episode two. When Top's *ahem* "buddy" approached them at the silent disco, it was very clear that Mew expected Top to introduce Mew as his boyfriend and was visibly (if momentarily) upset that he didn't.
Boston and Nick: Yes and no, but also no and no, respectively. So Boston trusts Nick with some things but not everything which leads to him lying, gaslighting and manipulating (he's a triple threat). In turn, Nick lies right back, because what else can he do? (a lot of things actually, oh Nick, you are starting to spiral hard.) This leads Nick to rigging the CCTV video to show on his phone and to wiretap Boston's car, which just shows you his trust in Boston is non-existent.
In conclusion: Trust is another theme the show seems to be exploring: earning it, keeping it, and what you do after trust is broken. I think it can tie back into the ongoing ephemerality discussion as well: trust isn't permanent. You have to earn it, maintain it, and once broken, it's gone (and seldom can be repaired).
Also, everyone needs therapy.

I feel like many social justicey analyses would be improved by the realization that some biases are caused by assuming other people are like you, and some biases are caused by assuming other people are different from you. Both kinds of biases can be harmful, but both stem from impulses that are part of normal social functioning and not inherently evil.
Assuming your experiences are universal is the other side of the coin from general empathy and thinking that other people have the same basic needs and thoughts as you do. Assuming other people are different to you and those differences must be accommodated for is the other side of the coin from the other kind of empathy, when you recognize that someone is different and put yourself in their shoes to figure out what they might want. Both can be considerate in some circumstances, and othering or offensive in others, and it's not always clear.
For example: Let's say you have an immigrant co-worker who's not fluent in your language. Is it better to A) talk to them the same way you talk to everyone else because you don't want them to feel like they don't belong here, or B) intentionally speak slower and use simpler words around them so they don't struggle with slang and fast speech patterns?
A can look indistinguishable from native speaker privilege and harmfully assuming/expecting everyone to speak on your level.
B can look indistinguishable from as assuming immigrants are bad at your language and things must be dumbed down for them.
Both have their uses, their pros and cons. As an immigrant myself who's struggled with this, there have been situations where I preferred one or the other. I have seen other immigrants complain about both. (If I had to guess, I'd say people complain about A more. Native speakers rattling on at ten miles a minute is a much more material obstacle than hazy feelings of alienation or feeling talked down to because people assume you don't speak the language well.)
But a certain social justicey crowd will be prone to making such reductive statements as how A or B are always racist or anti-immigrant or whatnot, as if it's that black and white.
Hell, a lot of the times whether something is othering or considerate will depend entirely on how likely it is that your guess is right. Assuming a random passerby doesn't speak your language has a very different contextual weight depending on if it's in the middle of the street in a crowded city, in the middle of the street in the non-native diaspora part of the city, in a classroom of grad students in an international program, or in the middle of an airport. But for one thing, that doesn't change the fact that you're still guessing and going by assumptions, and there's always the chance you're wrong. For another, that means that's as much an issue of correct situational analysis as it is of bigotry and bias, and yet, again, people will act like things are straightforward.
I also see this lot in discussions of disability and health. Some people want to be treated the same as everyone else instead of being reminded of the way in which they're different, others want tangible accommodations that will improve their quality of life, which means not being treated as everyone else. But so often people will see vent posts from one group or the other and conclude that THIS is the one and true way to handle X disabled group, and if they see someone doing anything else, that means that person must be an ableist bigot.
I think some people don't realize that when we say "Treat others the way you'd like to be treated"... many people wouldn't be able to agree on what the second part of that looks like.
(Yes, people in the notes, there are situations where you can just ask what a specific person would prefer - at least if the asking itself is not too othering and awkward. But that doesn't change anything about the dilemma of these different approaches.)

I think my own problems with Iroh as a character stems from the fact that his in-universe crimes are never actually given any weight in-universe. Although I'm mostly apathetic to him as a character because of this (at times I actively dislike him, depending in my mood), I think I'd like him more if his past was more than surface level.
For instance, if he was confronted by his victims in his travels through the Earth Kingdom or in Ba Sing Se, or if he wasn't, somehow, the Grand Lotus, because how did he go from participating in the war as a general to apparently heading an organisation against it in less than 5-6 years.
With the later, it would make more sense to me if he was merely acting as an informant for the White Lotus as it would mesh more with his passivity regarding the war.
I just can't accept the 'he lost his son (pretty much entirely to his own actions)' as a reason for the lack of consequences that he experiences. I mean, yes, that is a consequence he experiences, but not one that makes much sense in terms of his victims.
That said, I think his victims essentially being faceless is one of the reasons many in the fandom seem to view him as a good person post-Seige of Ba Sing Se. I just wish the show had given us something that would actually challenge that kind of perception of him.
I very much agree with you and I don't feel like there's much I can add.

About Monster High the Movie 2
Ok so I know it's been a couple of weeks ever since the Monster High live action sequel released, and whilst I did enjoy the movie and had a nice time while watching it, there is a specific topic regarding it that I can't stop thinking about it, and probably my biggest issue with the movie and it's writing: The movie's allegory of witchcraft and queerness
Ok so first and foremost, I want to preface this by stating that this wasn't exactly an issue of mine regarding the first Monster High Live Action movie. The first movie establishes a metaphor that seems to be the key point of what will be the entire Live Action franchise, the idea that monsters are an allegory for BIPOC communities and humans are a metaphor for whiteness.
Tumblr media
And even if some moments weren't laid out exactly the best way, and even if it definitely can't escape the problems every other DCOM or NOM has writingwise, the metaphor the movie was going for works in a way: Clawdeen's struggles represents the situation of biracial individuals struggling to find their place both among white communities and BIPOC communities, and with Komos' story and how it stems from his father being killed by humans due to the rejection of monsters to include him in their community and in their safe spaces as their own kind, it kind of nails into the idea of biracial kids belonging in BIPOC spaces as well, especially due to the lack of safety among white spaces. And especially, looking at the fact clawdeen has been mostly "monster presenting" for her entire life, it could be especially read as the situation of non whitepresenting biracial kids and maybe even some sort of criticism against the one drop rule and adjacent beliefs. Of course you can agree more or less with the execution of the message, but at the end of the day, the message is there and there are no elements in universe that contradict it.
The second movie though
Similarly, the second movie goes for an overarching allegory that is, personally, quite direct in its execution. Having the element of witchcraft been introduced during the first movie, the second movie develops into what witchcraft exactly entails in this universe, and especially leans of the idea that, if monsters are an allegory of POC and humans are an allegory of whiteness, witchcraft is an allegory of queerness, which essentially would make Draculaura an allegory of the experiences of queer children of color (the most obvious evidence being the "going back into the broomcloset" line).
Tumblr media
At first glance, I had the same positive outlook for this allegory as I did while watching the first movie: the way draculaura describes witchcraft she does it as an irrepressible part of herself, and the character of Zamara would represent the danger that exclusively white queer spaces can pose, sometimes, for queer individuals of color, and that POC spaces can't marginalise them and leave them exposed to danger. Kind of reminding me about what certain figures like James Baldwin discussed regarding queer white men in comparison to queer black men.
However, when I rewatched the movie after discussing it with a mutual of mine, @lesbianemivanda, I realised one thing that made me have a PRETTY big issue with how this allegory is done. The way witchcraft is portrayed in the second movie versus the first one, it makes it seem as if witches are inherently dangerous and hated by themselves, not ostrasiced just as an "extension of humans". And especially Toralei's character is the one who causes the most harm to this allegory.
If we go back to the first movie, witchcraft is stated to be a dirty practice from humans. The way it is described especially after Draculaura is caught by Clawdeen and Frankie and with the interactions between Dracula and Draculaura during the end of the movie, the general implication we kind of get is that, whilst the war between vampires and witches is mentioned, witchcraft is hated because it is seen as an extension of humankind and thus, monsters associate it with humans. But never because of perceiving exclusively the craft as something harmful against monsters.
Tumblr media
Now, what do we get in the first half an hour of the second movie?? Toralei waltzes in after coming back from Scaris and states that she hates witches, and after showing her scars left from having been the victim of a coven that tortured and tried to kill her and her pack, which kind of already bases her beliefs on trauma, she even goes as far as to explain how a lot of witch elements like wraith silver are inherently dangerous and lethal to monsters, to the point to imply they were created specifically with the pursuit of harming and potentially killing them. The same Toralei who is shown passive-aggressively stating that she deems Clawdeen as a human, yet never in the entire movie makes any move against her or any other HuMons, is shown to actively despise witches and establish them, not human witches or even just humans, but witches in general, as an absolute threat to monsterkind.
And the worst part about this? Zamara actually reveals at the latter part of the movie that she was the one who essentially caused Draculaura to develop an interest in witchcraft, essentially spying her and manipulating her from the shadows to execute her plan to kill all vampires. An idea that I definitely consider something that actively hindered this movie's allegory because it kind of implies draculaura was "taunted" into liking witchcraft (the way several conservative outlets will state that queer media "indoctrinates" children to become queer) and maybe not even being a true part of herself, it was such an unnecessary moment and it just causes harm to the overall message.
So essentially the movie, even if it wasn't its intention, proved that Toralei's beliefs and prejudice against witches and witchcraft, whilst it's being simultaneously represented it as an irrepressible part of some people, about it being a dangerous craft meant to target and seek harm upon monsters, were based on reason, and she was right. The last point you would like to make in a movie allegorically about prejudice against minorities of any kind.
Tumblr media
It is absolutely saddening to see this because this is a very much important discussion to be had among queer and poc communities, where many queer poc feel ostracised and left out of their communities out of homophobia and transphobia, a lot of times under the guise that queerness is a "white thing" or at least a "western thing". The fact that the only monster we see interact with witchcraft is Draculaura, whilst every other witch is human, the fact that Toralei specifically is disdainful of witchcraft essentially out of trauma and several other arguments the very same movie gives validity to, and Zamara essentially having been behind Draculaura being interested in witchcraft all this time, all of this gives me such a sour taste to what could have been a rounded and exquisite allegory for the experiences of queer BIPOC.
And no, having Ellis AT THE VERY LAST MOMENT stop his mom to save Draculaura's life doesn't change this, this is just a "not all white people" moment rather than anything. If we had been shown other monsters who practiced witchcraft who had to live in hiding in the human world, constantly at the danger of being targeted, because they aren't welcome in monster spaces, it would have been a very much lovely element that would reinstate that witchcraft is a part of who these individuals are, that should not be repressed, and that is not some kind of trend or a "human thing". In that circumstance, Ellis doing what he does, even after being part of his mother's plan to kill Draculaura, and then changing his mind to save her life would have felt absolutely different, but alas, this isn't the case.
So yeah, TL; DR, whilst I consider absolutely great that they went with the route to use witchcraft as a way to code queer poc experiences, I feel like the allegory wasn't done exactly the best way, to the point in universe it is quite easy to excuse the bigotry against witches in comparison to the bigotry against HuMons in the first movie.
Extra: To end in a more positive note, if we are talking about the Monster High second live action movie, I have to say the last conversation between Clawdeen and Toralei was absolutely wonderful and I can't stop thinking about the "We're were-creatures Wolf. We share the moon" line while Toralei traces Clawdeen's scar, and Clawdeen just saying "I guess we do" THIS IS TOO CUTE.

What up, libsharts. Since you all fell for my brilliant social experiment last year, I thought I’d come back to troll you for another round. You really thought that I was gay, huh? Well, you weren’t the only ones. I showed it to the bros in my Elon Musk Discord server, and they stupidly went “Wow, that was pretty gay” and I said “No it isn’t” and one guy said “You said that you’re attracted to Rick a bunch of times” and I said “No I didn’t” and another guy said “Dude, you said the exact same thing yesterday” and I said “No I didn’t” and he said “You literally showed up out of nowhere, said ‘im going to jack it to rick tonight lol’ and left” and I said “Haha, it was all a social experiment! I’m fucking with you! I’m a master manipulator like Rick! What’s gay about what I said? If somebody on Discord said ‘I want Rick Sanchez to ream me in the back room at Spencer’s’ and you thought ‘Wow, that sounds pretty gay,’ maybe YOU’RE the one who has dreams about Rick railing you in a blow-up inflatable pool while Bird Person lies facedown in a ditch!”
I beat them with cold, hard logic, just like Rick would. But one aspect of my genius experiment was true: I’m a dudebro sent here to infiltrate Tumblr. We do everything better than you, and to prove it, I wrote a fic that’s infinitely superior to anything you Tumblrinas could shit out. You think you’re the only ones who can come up with stories? Ha! You’re never going to beat me. You ass clowns have no idea how many times I’ve fantasized about Rick!
Anyway, here’s my one-shot that’s better than a thousand Rick Sanchez/Reader fics combined, and I would know, because I read all of them. And this is NOT AI-generated, by the way–no machine could compete with the brilliance pulsating in my brain stem. Get obliterated with literature, dumbfucks!
Your Majesty: Rick Sanchez/Elon Musk (PLATONIC!!)
Elon Musk gazed at the sky as a spaceship shimmered into view, glittering in the sunlight while it approached the SpaceX landing strip. Elon–or E, as his most respected admirers called him–was a ruggedly handsome man of over six feet tall with a chiseled jaw, godlike facial features, sizeable muscles and a full head of hair that one would love to run their hands through–if they were allowed to, of course. But few people had enjoyed this privilege. In both a literal and metaphorical sense, Elon Musk was truly untouchable.
A SpaceX rocket launched to the left of him, undoubtedly on another successful mission, but E’s eyes were fixed on the giant spaceship drifting to the ground with a barely audible whirr. The Tesla logo glinted on the front of the incredible ship, a mark of Elon’s brilliance. Steam hissed from the entrance as the side door opened and a lengthy shadow stretched across the ground.
“Greetings, Elon,” Rick Sanchez said as he approached. He was just as handsome as Musk, perhaps even more so. At nearly seven feet tall, most humans could only gaze up at him and marvel at his unfathomable genius, matched only by that of the engineer standing in front of him. He strode magnificently toward E as if he knew that he were God’s perfect creation, the scientist that would give Stephen Hawking envy diarrhea.
“Salutations, Rick,” E answered in kind, acknowledging the pleasure of being in his presence. “What do you have for me?”
“I have a concept that will revolutionize our lives and showcase our brilliance to the rest of the planet.” Rick paused. “Nay, the entire galaxy. Alien species will look up at us in wonder as they question how Earth could have produced not one, but two, of the universe’s perfect beings.”
Musk flashed him a smile brimming with boyish charm. “It seems, as I’ve suspected many times, that you and I are the main characters in this simulation, and everyone else–girls and normies in particular–are mere NPCs.”
“This is true, but I can’t take credit for all of it,” Rick admitted. “While most of this idea was mine, I confess that I couldn’t have developed this plan without Tesla’s impressive technology.”
“You are too humble,” E said with a nod of his head. “Of course, none of this would have been possible without your technology that turned Tesla into the pinnacle of human achievement, a stunning display of masculine brilliance and prowess that womenfolk could never accomplish because they’re dumb.”
“You are familiar with my Raising Gazorpazorp manifesto, I presume?”
“Of course, Rick. I have watched every moment of your life with intense fascination. Our Twitter interaction all those years ago was the highlight of my existence, moreso than the birth of every one of my children combined, and it compelled the author of this story to jerk off to it even though we’re both men.”
“He was imagining all the hot chicks that he sucked off in his fraternity, I’m sure.”
“Undoubtedly. Now, if you would, please lead me into the ship so that I can witness your latest intellectual conquest.”
“Follow me, Your Majesty,” Rick responded with a limp-wristed wave that was stunningly, incredibly heterosexual.
The door hissed shut behind them as E followed Rick into the ship. Since Rick had partnered with Tesla a year prior, his ship had become a sprawling technological wonder full of everything that the space traveler could possibly need. Only E could have done this, Rick thought to himself, as he gazed around the interior of the ship as if seeing it for the first time. Truly, being in the presence of his hero reminded him of his incredible fortune.
Rick’s ship, once small and held together with duct tape but an astonishing creation nonetheless, now housed five scientific laboratories stocked with alien technology that Rick and E had amassed on their many adventures together. His ship also possessed a gigantic library, a hologram room where he spoke with digital recreations of Earth’s greatest MALE scientists, a math classroom where he solved and invented equations, a Tesla think tank where shareholders held board meetings, a SpaceX rocket manufacturing plant, and a cafeteria that served exclusively reheated taquitos and Mountain Dew.
Elon felt the same way as Rick. He couldn’t keep his eyes off the scientist as they walked to one of the laboratories. Of course, this was done in a completely straight, masculine way. E thought that he would later have sex with lots of beautiful women that looked a little like Rick, but they weren’t Rick, because that would be gay.
“Here it is, my dear E,” Rick said, spreading out his arms in front of him like a Greek god.
A scale model of a glass dome stood on a pedestal with tiny figures moving inside to represent a community. As E peered into the dome, the glass reflected his breathtakingly handsome features.
“This is the community that we will build on Pluto,” Rick announced. “As you’ve undoubtedly guessed already due to your unfathomable genius, those crystals in the center release pheromones that will cause the most beautiful women in the universe to flock to us while the ugly ones stay at home and cry about it on Tumblr. These beauties will fawn over and make out with us while we chug Mountain Dew and watch video game livestreams where one guy just says ‘BANG!’ over and over. One of our wives will microwave taquitos on demand while another will periodically wipe the sweat off our gaming chairs. Truly, we will be the gods of our own universe.”
E smiled at this thought. He had colonized Mars years ago and had no less than 1,000 Martian wives with male relatives who had invested in E-Coin, his genuis cryptocurrency that only tech bros could understand, but he now saw an opportunity to enter the NFT market. Any male would be delighted to own a digital representation of one of these alien Helens of Troy. And of course, who but Rick should be at his side? Who else but the god-like scientist who deserved to have dominion over every living being in existence?
“If you have a minute, E–” Rick began, then stopped. “You do have a minute, don’t you? As the owner and CEO of X, PayPal, SpaceX, Tesla, OpenAI, Neuralink, xAI, Midjourney, OpenSea, Adult Swim, Dogecoin, McDonald’s, Fox News, The Joe Rogan Experience, Funko Pops, Discord, and Harmontown, I realize that your time is so precious that one second with you is worth ten kilos of fine Neptunian gold.”
Once more, Elon flashed his iconic boyish grin. “Rick, don’t you know me by now? If I weren’t a man of science who understood the natural disasters that it would cause, I would stop the world from spinning on its axis just to spend another minute in your presence.”
Rick responded with a flushed smile, then pressed a button on the side of the display. “Then allow me to demonstrate.”
When a set of steel doors slid open, a girl robot emerged from the storage space. I guess she was attractive for a girl. In her extended arms, she held a glass case piled high with shimmering jewels.
“This is a scale model of one of our Plutonian wives,” Rick said intelligently, lifting the case from her hands. “In preparation for our mission, I’ve amassed a fine collection of intergalactic space jewelry.”
Rick typed in a code to unlock the case: 42069. 420 and 69 were Rick’s favorite numbers, as well as Elon’s. The gemstones glinted in the light as the lid clicked open. Rick attached the earrings and kissed the robot’s ears, slid on the bracelets and kissed her wrists, and strung on the necklace and kissed her neck. He looked amazing in that jewelry.
“Well, Rick, this calls for quite the celebration,” E said cheerfully. “Should we celebrate with a bottle of Twitterian space wine?
“Of course,” Rick said with a wink. “What do you think I stashed in the wine cooler?”
Rick pressed a button on the wall, causing a drawer to slide out with a hiss and a cloud of steam. The steam dissipated to reveal a sparkling bottle of golden wine and two identical glasses with Rick and Elon’s names etched into the side. Rick handed Elon one of the glasses, the surface reflecting his Adonis-like visage.
“Let’s take this to the lounge, shall we?” Rick said. “I could use some quality time with my technological muse, the scientist whose mere existence transformed my life the second I laid eyes upon him.”
“Ah, but the feeling is mutual,” Elon confessed. “When I first saw you in that Tesla board meeting and realized that you had invested in our stock, I knew that I had reached the defining moment of my career, the pinnacle of achievement that made everything else seem like watching an orangutan pissing into a lake.”
“Your affections charm and dazzle me,” Rick responded. “I may go on adventures alone when you’re busy transforming X into history’s greatest social media empire, but I confess that my travels are incomplete without you by my side.”
“I will have to take a break from X to join you on the next mission,” E said with a nod. “After all, we have not yet had sex with all the hot babes in the universe. We’ve had sex with most of them, this is true, but I’m sure there are far-off corners of the galaxy that have yet to hear the legend of Rick and Elon: a hundred years, a hundred more, our friendship extending into eternity.”
A few minutes later, the two of them were reclining in a lounge furnished with plush velvet couches, Greek statues of famous scientists, and a bubbling hot tub. Rick and Elon had slept with many hot alien chicks in this lounge, but they didn’t really enjoy it even though they were both straight. One might say that they were super-straight. It was a special type of straight that only their genius minds could possess.
Elon and Musk clinked their glasses before they each took a drink. “While we’re here, should we engage in some meta commentary?” E said with a sly chuckle.
“Of course,” Rick said, straightening to look at the reader. “I would like to say that the author of this fic is an incredibly handsome, virile, and heterosexual man, and if I were gay and he were gay–which we’re not, of course–I would love to take my pants off and sit on his face while he recites mathematical theorems.”
“I concur,” E said with a tilt of his head. “I also find this author to be quite attractive, brilliant and god-like, and although I’m super-straight, I would be up for a threesome with you, him, and I in a truck stop bathroom while some other guys watch.”
“Truly, that would be the spectacle of a lifetime,” Rick said with a charming, boyish grin. “Of course, this is impossible because I’m straight as well as white and neurotypical, and whenever I said otherwise, I was in fact performing a social experiment on my audience.”
“I, too, have done such a thing,” Elon agreed. “And Birdrick is platonic, is it not?”
“Birdrick is indeed platonic. Anyone who thought that scene was gay needs to watch some gay porn and learn what ‘gay’ really means, which this author does on a regular basis.”
They nodded in agreement, then drank their glittering space wine as the sun set outside the ship, casting the inside of the lounge in a deep, romantic glow. Rick lit a set of Tesla candles powered by Teslectricity, a new form of electricity that Musk had patented. The lights shimmered and flickered as if the candles were about to explode any second.
Orange light shined on the surface of the water bubbling in the hot tub. “It’s growing warm in here,” Rick said, fanning himself with his strong yet elegant hand. “I think I need to remove a few layers. Excuse me, E, while I change into something other than my iconic lab coat.”
Rick disappeared into another room and returned a few minutes later, wearing only a bathrobe. Elon rubbed the back of his neck as he found himself sweating. Suddenly, the temperature seemed to have increased a hundred degrees.
“I believe that I will also remove a few layers,” E stated. “Excuse me for a moment.”
E disappeared into the same room, which had several robes and outfits in his size just in case he lost his clothes for some weird reason. The room also held outfits for other prominent male scientists, plus Dan Harmon. The room had no clothing for womenfolk because they’re gross and dumb.
When Elon returned, Rick sat on the edge of the hot tub, drawing circles in the surface of the water with his toe as he swirled the remainder of the wine in his glass. His eyes were lowered with an expression that one could almost consider lustful–his thoughts full of girlies, no doubt, even though they scarcely deserved a moment of his attention.
“I’m thinking about taking a dip in the hot tub,” Rick said. “Would you care to join me?”
“Of course,” E said, already removing his robe. “I desire nothing else in this moment.”
HAHA noobs, you thought you had it all figured out, didn’t you? You thought this was going to lead to some gay shit? Well, I’ll tell you what happens. Rick and Elon PLATONICALLY sit in the hot tub together. That’s all that they do. And they talk about all the babes that they’re going to make out with when Rick gets his crap on Pluto set up. Yeah, that’s right, libpukes: Rick likes GIRLS even though they’re stupid and dumb and don’t understand Rick and Morty! No one will ever understand Rick Sanchez like I do! Not Elon Musk, despite his unfathomable brilliance! Not Dan Harmon, despite his magnificent beard! No one but me, Steve White, the man of every scientist’s dreams!
Anyway, I just proved to you that the woke crowd took over the writers’ room and made Rick something he’s not. This story is more accurate and in character than every episode from seasons 5-7 put into a blender, spun around and spewed onto a plate like a horse vomit smoothie. Rick was once a manly, masculine man–a man’s man, you might say–before they turned him into a twink like they’re challenging the audience to jerk off to him.
I told the guys in my Elon Musk server “Wow, Rick and Morty has been a real jerkoff machine lately, huh?” and they said “No? Not really?” and I said “What show are you watching? Rick and Morty has been a total jerkoff machine” and one guy said “Yeah, I agree with you, I jack it to Rick on the regular” and I said “Haha, I was just fucking with you guys! It was another social experiment! I’m a master manipulator! I’m the real-life Rick! What’s gay about what I said? While you queers jack it to Rick in a gay way, I’m going to jack off to Rick to PROVE TO MYSELF that I’m STRAIGHT!!!”
I got banned from the server for a week, and I had so much time on my hands that I decided I’d pop back in and give Tumblr another textual ass-crushing. The server’s going to be so proud of me when I tell them what I did. Elon would be proud. Dan Harmony-to-my-ears would be proud. And Rick would DEFINITELY be proud. If my Rick Sanchez body pillow were animated, he’d look directly into my eyes and whisper to me as tears of joy stream down my face.
Oh my God, forget it. Why am I still wasting my time with you idiots? You have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty.

Blog 1: Evolution and Development of my Relationship with nature
Hey everyone! I attend the University of Guelph as a 4th year Marine and Freshwater student. I want to welcome everyone to my blog! This is my first blog post and I will be talking about the relationship I share with nature and how it continues to develop.
I have always felt I have had a strong connection with nature, especially with anything that relates to the water (mainly fish, but also many of the different animals). This largely stems from being at my cottage located in Tobermory, Ontario. My father would bring us down to the water and teach us where to look for crayfish and how to catch them. For many years we would beg to make the 3 hour journey just to spend the majority of the time lifting the rocks along the shoreline and capturing crayfish to see the different sizes we could find, and then safely release them after playing with them. This is what I believe what began an ever expanding interest in aquatic animals.
This experience with my family at my cottage created an extremely special place for me. So much so that during the summer I live there full-time and work for Parks Canada, to help keep the area as perfect and as special for others as it has been and always will be for me. By being in one of my favorite places for approximately half the year I began to look more closely at everything around, which opened how I see not only the forests, marshes, and beaches in that area but of all places that I travel to.
Over this last summer I began to dabble in a bit of mycology. I began to notice how important even the most insignificant looking plant, fungus, or animal truly is and what kind of role they may play. A friend of mine from Parks Canada who is a mycology masters student at the University of Guelph is helping me develop a deeper relationship with all the different fungi in the area and helping me with my identification skills of the  main mushrooms and fungi groups of not just the area but of a more broad and general identification. This past summer my relationship with nature has expanded and evolved/ developed in ways I never would have thought about. I began looking closer at the formation of rocks and how indigenous peoples may have used the different caves around the islands or the ones on the mainland. For example, there is one cave on an island in the Fathom Five National Marine Park called Butter cave that before fridges were invented the lighthouse keepers on the island and indigenous peoples used to keep their food cold. There is a different cave on the mainland that is named fern cave, and it intrigues me a lot because during only a certain time in the summer the cave is filled with beautiful ferns, but looking at the shape and formation of the cave it seems as if it would have been a perfect location to use for shelter. I always try to think of who might have used this and I will go into the cave to see if there’s any cave drawings or any evidence someone from the past lived there (it isn’t that big but still big enough you can’t touch the ceiling).
I could go on and on about tobermory and how much I love it and anytime I'm there it feels like I belong and it gives me a "sense of place". Please come back again for my next blog post and continue this journey through nature with me! Enjoy these pictures I have taken from various locations around tobermory and if you have any questions about them ask away!

Kaori and Jin itadori for the character ask
Thanks for the ask! This is interesting because both of them are basically 80-100% headcanon. We barely know anything about them.
Kaori
Sexuality Headcanon:
Hm, I think she dabbled a bit with girls in her youth (maybe also because of societal pressure), but ultimately leans more towards men. I imagine her and Jin got together quite early, end of highschool/early university maybe, so she didn't experiment all that much with other people. Doesn't mean the two didn't have their own fun together though.
Gender Headcanon:
Since we know nothing about her, I have just decided that she is a trans woman. Who is gonna proof me wrong? Her and Jin were thinking a lot about what approach to take with family planning. Kaori didn't care that much either way, but she still tried to look for options for Jin's sake. That's when Kenjaku came in and offered her a womb transplant. Unfortunately, she didn't get to use it much.
A ship I have with said character:
Well, uh, Jin. Also I'm not gonna lie, I have been thinking about her and Kenjaku as well, especially after we found out that they still hold onto her CT. I could absolutely see Kenjaku creeping up on her when scouting for a new body and maybe even try to hit on both her and Jin.
A BROTP I have with said character:
Uh idk, Wasuke? I imagine he was at first a bit sceptical of Jin being in a relationship with her because of some latent transphobia and homophobia, but he got over it pretty quickly and became one of her biggest supporters, even after death. You could say he always showed more concern for her than Jin.
A NOTP I have with said character:
Don't really have any. Not many people shipping her anyway.
A random headcanon:
Because of her CT and I think it would be funny if both of Yuuji's mothers would be into STEM, I think she was a physicist and working on actual anti-gravity devices. So she was a bit of a mad scientist herself.
General Opinion over said character:
I'm not sure I can have much of an opinion on her with how little we know, but what we do know is very intriguing and leaves a lot of room for speculation. Hopefully, we will learn more about her when we get into Yuuji's origins.
Jin
Sexuality Headcanon:
Kind of similar to Kaori, although I would say he's more firmly bisexual, he just doesn't have that much experience with men. Certainly not in terms of actual relationships.
Gender Headcanon:
Cis man. Not really the ideal societal image of one with his very polite and submissive soft or unassuming attitude and focus on being primarily a father. But I imagine that's what Kaori and Kenjaku liked about him (for different reasons).
A ship I have with said character:
Mainly just Kaori and Kenjaku. His relationship with Kenjaku is still so fascinating. I really hope it was willful ignorance that kept him by Kenjaku's side and made him pull through with having a child with them. He knows something is wrong, that this isn't Kaori, but he's just so desperate to have a family and a child and might not know how to handle the grief over Kaori, that he just ignores the many red flags Kenjaku is waving in his face. Him just being under some illusion or mind-manipulation CT would be really boring and remove so much agency from him. Let him be a fucked up, slightly obsessive husband to his evil wife!
A BROTP I have with said character:
idk, I don't think he has many friends
A NOTP I have with said character:
Honestly, just Toji. I don't see that at all. It's not even aesthetically appealing to me. They both have children and that's pretty much the only thing that connects them. I don't know why Toji would be interested in Jin and vice-versa.
A random headcanon:
He's still alive lol...no, I think he would have shown up already if that was the case. If he is, he's a really shitty father for letting Yuuji go through all that. Another hc would be that I think he never got that well along with his father, the situation with Kaori was just the tipping point that pushed them into actual hostility. But I imagine divorced/widowed Wasuke wasn't the best dad, especially because he seems to have a gambling addiction that probably didn't get any better with his grief.
General Opinion over said character:
Little fucked up guy, but really interesting. What little we saw of him in canon makes him come off kinda creepy in the stepford smile kind of way in my opinion and I like that about him. I mean he must've charmed Kenjaku somehow and what better way to do that than by being a little insane.

Hi ! I'm not sure if you're still answering asks for dannyverse, but I just went through the whole tag (which is fueling yet another DP fixation in my brain) and had a couple Q's ! I'll put these in separate asks because it might get long idk ! Number one ! I'm curious as to if/how Dex's opinions on ghosts would differ from the other's as a result of him not actually being part ghost and being generally closer to his parents (and partaking in their research, which is often being about catching/studying ghosts). There's also the fact that Dex's only experience with a halfa (in his universe) is Vlad which is.... not a great first impression probably. I'd like to think that Danny (and probably Danny B, since they both grew up with Maddie and Jack treating ghosts as more non-sentient creatures), although at first he considers his ghostliness a trait that makes him a 'freak' as is implied in the show, would over time form more soldarity with ghosts and realize that they are in fact sentient and deserving of being treated as such. Ghouly and Mourner probably probably wouldn't have that same initial internalized prejudice against ghosts (or not to the same degree at least) considering they don't grow up with the Fenton's, but I imagine they similarly end up at a place of solidarity with ghosts since it's a part of them now. This isn't to say I think Dex is malicious towards ghosts or thinks badly of them or anything, just that there might be some dissonance there in relation to the others ? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this (and on any of the other's mentality around ghosts as what I wrote down are just guesses !)
great question! dex's relationship with ghosts is largely stems from a scientist standpoint (like a zoologist/outdoor biologist kind of way not a cadaver dissection way). Dex's journey with ghosts throughout the show is a lot of him just learning how they work, the intricacies of their biologies, and overcoming the biases or false information from his parent's studies. Especially when he starts to befriend some ghosts like clockwork or sydney.
Jack and Maddie likely do a little bit of dissection on the side but dex's constant involvement since childhood and their stronger relationship with him than other danny versions curbs a bit of this behavior (at least openly). When Dex starts his own independent study of ghosts at a young age, he did the easiest/most appropriate thing he could do which is behavioral observation. this gives him a completely unique perspective on ghosts that his parents don't have, whose studies where completely hypothetical at one point in their careers.
I do believe Jack and Maddie are actually good, (somewhat) ethical scientists in Dex's universe. I feel like they would have to be for him to take such interests as a child and not be scared off of it at some point. Their more questionable stuff is done in private and they teach Dex only the facts first, personal biases with asterisks later. (ex: ghosts are MONSTERS of course we still need to do more research on this to really confirm this)
Every other version of the Fenton's research is more along the lines of "we have to study ghosts to learn how to ERADICATE them" but Dex's parents lean more towards "we have to study ghosts because they're an unknown entity that needs to be explored........and also get rid of the one thats terrorizing the town". So yeah, there's still a bit of disdain there but theyre much more open to learning about how ghosts work, especially after their son becomes ecto-contaminated and they realize completely eliminating it from his system isnt really a plausible option.
SO, to summarize Dex's view on ghosts: he knows and has been exposed to his parents' biases and beliefs, maybe even internalized some of them (but hey what danny hasnt lol), but is ultimately taught to be his own scientist and form his own opinions and beliefs. At the dannyverse point in his story, he already understands the complexities of ghosts, how theyre not monolithic, and how vlad being an asshole is completely dependent on his human half not his ghost one. So when Dex meets the other halfas, there's not really that distance between them. If anything hes excited cause he gets to learn more about halfas and how they work beyond just vlad.
As for Dex's own relationship with ghostliness, thats heavily outweighed by the whole arm disabilities thing. The psychic ecto powers is so minor and not visible other than the green eyes, aside from control its not really something Dex needs to navigate. He probably feels a small kinship to ghosts because of this aspect but it ultimately doesnt bridge to any kind of understanding between them. At his core, Dex is still wholly human.
(Speedrun for everyone else and their relation to ghosthood: Canon Danny believes his ghost half makes him a freak, Danny B's human half was also heavily ostracized so he believed all of him was a freak, Mourner thought of her ghost half as a curse or punishment, Ghouly thinks of it as a superpower that was really cool but questions if he deserved to have it)

If it's okay can I please ask how would your OCS react and think of kianna komori
Tumblr media
Nawovuherszi: She'll find Kianna to be very intriguing and pretty cute, but also fearsome. She has never seen anyone like her before and she can't help but admire the type of clothing she wears. Nawovuherszi will have an urge to converse with Kianna in order to understand her point of view and where her emotions are stemming from.
Hirmenogaldus: She might be a bit unsure and suspicious of her first, but that will change when she gets a read on her emotions. She can read the emotions of others through their aura and, as a result, she'll automatically feel sympathetic towards her. Hirmenogaldus immensely struggles with her own trauma and possesses a sort of respect towards those who have fearful experiences, even if they're different from hers. She'll also think that the type of clothing she wears is beautiful and noble-esque.
Ephoszumina: She wouldn't have much interest in Kianna at first as she's more preoccupied with her mental health, work, friends, and family. She also finds her to be off-putting and wouldn't know how to properly approach her. If Selatobhun was to do so, she would more likely just listen to her problems and give advice rather than anything else. Due to Kianna having trauma, she's afraid that she might cause problems and genuinely doesn't want to make enemies out of her.
Zelutjoskhriva: He would be fascinated and slightly intimidated by Kianna as he has a lot of respect for females and the matriarchy. He would be very wise about his word choices because he hates being unreasonably sarcastic and disrespectful towards women. He also doesn't want to accidentally trigger Kianna's trauma and make enemies out of her.
Smajuzhoktrine: She finds that all humans are peculiar in a complex, yet perfectly interesting. So, Kianna won't be an expectation and she'll try to understand every inch about her in order to satisfy Hernuzokial's curiosity.
Tefsakomphuni: He prefers legitimately engaging with adults rather than younger generations because that's what makes him more comfortable (unless there is a reason such as family members). Terpzakombinus would most likely think that the way Kianna dresses looks stupid. The reason why is because it's completely different to what he's seen in his universe. He would also have difficulty trusting her unless she finds a way to prove herself right.
Uyrvawoledius: She tries not to engage with other people unless she can use them to achieve a greater purpose or she's feeling lonely and needs more companionship. She thinks that Kianna dresses very modestly and might be interested in learning more about her.
Odarkhenius: She would have a hard time trusting and conversing with Kianna. It's mainly because Odarkhenius is quite socially awkward, she has deep seeded trauma, and English is not her first language. She might feel some sort of empathy and concern, but it will take a while for her to warm up and fully appreciate the uniqueness and struggles of Kianna.
Tighezorvanus/Velabhortius/Mulavozje: Tighezorvanus would find her sense of fashion to be kind of strange, but that won't discourage him from making a potential friend. He enjoys making others happy and finds comfort in conversing with people. Velabhortius would pretend that he has sympathy for Kianna, but ultimately doesn't care about her. He would rather stay far away from or try to kill her than actually befriend her and understand her personal struggles. Mulavozje will most likely be a bit suspicious and unsure about her at first. He'll eventually open up and become more empathetic towards her if they befriend or try to understand each other.
Eymaphorvius: She would think that the way Kianna dresses is too girly for her liking and even old-fashioned. She'll also find her to be suspicious and will have difficulty trusting her personal integrity. If they build a worthwhile friendship, Eymaphorvius would better understand Kianna as a person and her struggles. She can honestly relate to having trauma and how it negatively affects her. She'll also block out any negative thoughts she originally had about Kianna.

I WANT YOUR THOUGHTS ON MODERN/INFLUENCER AU. ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING
-someone who shouldn’t be on his phone bc he’s at work
i am a suckerrrr for modern/influencer aus, and i LOVE yours. this probably won’t follow it exactly because my brain unfortunately cannot work like that but just know that all your ideas and posts about it are fantastic and i owe you my life
(also, what could be more worth being on your phone at work for than this?)
this is going to be very disjointed and chaotic but i have Many Ideas. first of all, you having the delanceys as mma fighters? genius. everything to me.
they left their one and only “real home” as kids when they were removed from their dad’s care, and they’ve never had one since - moving between foster homes, care facilities, hospitals, juvenile detention centres, and now they live between hotel rooms and brief apartment stays. their only sense of stability is each other. their idea of “settling down” is staying in one airbnb for a few months if they’re on break or have an opportunity to fight on contract somewhere. they always sleep in the same room, which most people think is strange, but, for their whole childhood, being apart - particularly while asleep - meant danger, and oscar can never trust that morris is safe unless he can see him, unless he’s close enough to reach out and touch. even when they’re in the same room, on bad nights they’ll end up in the same bed, just like when they were kids.
they started training when they were frankly far too young to, when a worker at some facility they were in wanted to try and channel their violence into something more productive. he thought it might stop them from being violent outside of the ring. instead, it just sharpened them, and suddenly oscar isn’t getting into scraps to defend his brother so much as he’s utterly destroying anyone who even looks at him wrong. the worker hoped fighting might help morris express himself, open him up more, but now he’s just silent and cold as he trains or fights. still doesn’t speak to anyone but oscar.
they met jack in the refuge when they were kids. they didn’t get along then, and still resent each other to this day - people on social media are curious about the apparent feud and how it might’ve started, since jack won’t talk about any part of his childhood before medda adopted him on any of his platforms, and neither of the delanceys will talk about anything other than fighting in interviews. morris still rarely talks at all.
jack’s a general social media presence. he started out posting art, but as he got more popular he found the confidence to start posting himself more too - dumb videos, vlog types, the process of him making his art. he’s open about the fact that he was adopted as a kid, but won’t talk about his experiences before that. he says he only wants to focus on all the positives of how his family is now, and posts frequently with his brothers, race and crutchie. (also, there’s definitely twitter discourse about crutchie’s nickname and sense of humour about his own disability. which he thinks is equally hilarious and absurd.) he tries to be private about it when he starts dating davey, fearing the reaction and kind of wanting to keep davey for himself, but it doesn’t last long. they start posting together constantly.
albert being a streamer in the style of punz - he mainly games, he’s deadpan and funny and stupid in a way he utterly denies, and knows he is very thirsted after. people are always begging for face cam and hand cam. he does irl stuff every so often too, especially messing around with his friends (the usual gang). they’ve done disney/universal streams and stuff, and fairly frequently do cooking/baking streams. albert did some mma/adjacent training as a kid to deal with his own sort of anger issues stemming from family issues, and he does the creator clash type stuff - boxing matches between online personalities, sometimes including actual mma fighters. he’s met the delanceys too, before they were them, and he and them are all too eager to fight each other again. the delanceys think albert (and other streamers/creators doing creator clash type stuff) are pathetic and make a mockery of their legitimate sport. albert couldn’t care less, he just likes fighting.
finch streams too. he’s more of a cryptid - no face cam or anything, pretty mediocre mic quality, constant pc problems, but he’s popular anyway for solely his personality and playing skills - and he and albert have this mutual sort of quiet distaste until they end up meeting through some event (mcc or twitch rivals or minecraft monday or something) and then they’re streaming together all the time. people love the dynamic of albert earnestly saying stupid shit and finch deadpan playing along. they’ve done a couple streams reading, like, wattpad fics shipping the two of them.
(finch meets morris and oscar when albert has an arranged fight with oscar. he’s a deeply private person, even with albert really, but he immediately realises he’s got way too much in common with these two. he ran away from his abusive home at an early age and got bounced around the care system until it finally spat him out. he’s worked his ass off since to get his GED - he’s smart, he just never had any chance.
finch also promptly realises that morris has very limited education on top of his apparent neurodivergence and developmental disability, and sees that he can’t really read or write. oscar does pretty much everything, including all the talking.
while oscar and albert are preparing for their fight, finch sets about seeing if he can maybe build some sort of bond with morris.)

Hello, first off you're God's gift to mankind and I would die for you. Besides that, if you dont mind me asking, could you elaborate further on the examining life thing? I feel like this is something I also do as well wherein I've always been a bit of a social outcast (vibes dont match) so I've always had to self examine as well as analyze everyone around me to see where I lie and what my problems are, all of which to say I'm defo wondering if this is what self examining is like or something else entirely. Either way thank you for your time may you get all the sushis in the world for free
hii yeah that is definitely a huge part of it for me, i think that's where it all stems from honestly. like this constant need to self analyse and to be vigilant, to see if i'm missing something, to be "in on the joke" about myself and to fix it before anyone can laugh. though that doesn't really work because i find it hard to make friends in general LOL but yeah my brain is just always on this loop of watching what i'm doing and saying rather than experiencing what i'm doing and saying. probably out of major insecurity like you said - i just literally can not turn it off. and sometimes it's even more subtle than that, like it happens when i'm alone too. if i practice guitar or watch a TV show or something, i think to myself i'm practicing my guitar. i'm watching a TV show. rather than actually being present and invested in the activities, i'm narrating them to myself instead, seeing them through a screen almost. and this happens with absolutely everything i ever do apart from when i'm drunk. it's so annoying, i'm so wooden and insincere. always in my head rather than in the moment. a feeling that is super adjacent to this for me is Waiting for it to be over. whatever i'm doing, even if it’s okay, i'm waiting for it to be over. i think that might be another part of why my mind does this. i'm taking stock of what i'm doing so when it's finally over, or i finally give up, i can say oh at least i did something. i know i did because i was mentally marking it off my checklist the whole time. god anyway i could go on because this literally rules my life LMFAO but i won't bore ya. i think that's the crux of it though. if you've been alienated your whole life, you kind of get into the habit of examining yourself like you're a science experiment or something. also thank you thank you thank youuu angel-face lmfao you are too much and too sweet and too lovely and i adore you <3 hmmm ur the universe in human form and i would KILL for you. how about that. hugs x

how did you figure out that you’re nonbinary and that you specifically use they/them pronouns? /genq
oh okay so figuring out gender was a ‘casper is stupid for 17 entire years’ situation.
i basically came out of the cradle insisting that it was cringe and terrible of my parents to think of me as a girl. i was, emphatically, a Pokémon obsessed little guy since i could form entire sentences. but it was 2002, and frankly i was more concerned with how far i could spit and collecting spiders off the bushes to be worried about it. my parents (bless) were 100% cool with getting my clothes in the boys section & letting me do whatever i wanted (except get ice cream from the ice cream van every day. their one and only instance of homophobia 😔) so i didn’t really suffer, especially, beyond scowling at people in school when they dared to refer to me.
it was pretty clear to me when i was 11 that having a cursed body was, indeed, going to be a curse. not worth mentioning how terrible and evil 11-14 was for me physically, tho to be fair i also took up swordfighting then so swings and roundabouts.
but yeah, around when i was 9 i knew there was a huge massive problem but then my mom got cancer (multiple myeloma) and… yeah gender crisis took a backseat while we watched her almost die about three times (pulmonory embolism, stem-cell transplant, getting shingles with no immune system bc chemo). my grandmother looked after me while Hospital.
unhelpful to the anti-trans-kids-existing demons bc she was also like intensely indulgent of my refusal to wear anything but my brazil football jersey. she let me eat nothing but artificial cheese slices put on a single slice of white bread and then microwaved because i had the massive trump card of not being allowed to see my mother for almost six months. i think she was grateful that i seemed to find the whole situation too serious to cry over. my best friend was a boy & he was pretty willing to be like ‘ok cool. ur not a girl. can we go on the trampoline?’
& then, when things calmed down & i was about 16/17, i had come out as gay (good for me) about two years before & then i realised i was oh fuck A Bit More Complicated than that i spent a while agonising over it. really a long walks on the beach pondering my gay ass type deal.
but then, just when i was kind of starting to vibe with being enby, I got really really sick, which lasted aboooout 5/6 years where it was just an old school platforming game but titled ‘casper tries not to die while trying to get a degree & two masters’). very do not pass go do not collect 200 of the universe to Do That. but hey.
so it was around Pandemic when i finally got the brainspace to actually think, & i realised that i was definitely trans, probably nonbinary. i experimented for a while with different pronouns. realised my ‘dumbass nickname everyone has to call me’ was my ACTUAL NAME (never underestimate my stupidity and ignorance) & yeah at first i was thinking of going the hormones path (do not ever please god don’t get me started on how hard that is in this stupid bastard country. 5 years waiting period, on average. have to get diagnosed formally by a team of psychiatrists with what is characterised as a ‘mental illness’. have to ‘live’ - as Some Fucker sees it - as your ‘chosen’ gender for like two years AND be out to basically everybody - realistic and safe i say sarcastically i say while looking into the camera like i'm on the office - oh look i got started. anyway. bullshittery)
but eventually i realised huh nope i just wanted top surgery (same fucking deal with the health service tho) & for people to use they/them generally (i am not too fussed w/ pronouns for myself tho. like, a lot of my friends use he/him because frankly i deserve it most of the time with the himbo behaviour. professionally i insist on they/them for consistency. i get congnitive dissonance with she/her as in i get a weird shock & want to laugh & wonder who the fuck they’re talking about for a sec before i realise it’s me. but like, miffed too much i am not).
also gender is a big pendulum for me it’s an elliptic orbit sometimes for a few weeks i’m like a feminine guy and other times i feel like a masculine gay & sometimes i feel like the autism creature (bc i AM an autism creature, always).
but i have, essentially, felt nonbinary always. trust me i have a pic of blue-eyed blond 5y/o me sitting on my bed in my Pokemon-themed room wearing a Manchester United jersey and holding my PS2 controller in my hands with a profoundly vacant and himboish expression on my face. it did fully take me 17 whole years to have my ‘oh’ moment about it, but a lot of that was profoundly indulgent parents who were you can’t even imagine how determined to not raise me the way they were raised - which meant, apparently, that if i wanted to be a spider-collecting, bug obsessed pokémon-fixated little guy who kept snapping branches off the bamboo and fashioning makeshift swords out of them - well then that was the creature they’d send to school every day.
i think the tldr here is: casper stupid. gender a concept.

Learning in Portsmouth ✏️💭🧠
I’d describe my first 3 months in Portsmouth as eventful. I’ve experienced cool new things academically and socially that I am extremely grateful for.
In comparison to my college the work is definitely more free and personal. Previously I’d find myself kind of being coerced into producing artwork on behalf of my teachers ideas or making work that they would like, which kind of distorted my sense of style and idea generation. Since starting illustration in Portsmouth we were allowed to test out different themes and experiment with many equipment from the jump and although we were told to experiment in college i was always told to keep it “relevant” to the chosen topic…lame.
The best part of my learning experience in Portsmouth is the amount of free workshops and classes available to us. I tried out life drawing which caught me off guard for a second but I got into it and found myself benefiting immensely from it in my work so I tried to go weekly. It is definitely something I will continue to go to because you can never learn too much about human anatomy am I right?✋🏾😃 I took a dinosaur drawing class which tended to be much more difficult but still enjoyable nonetheless. I have tested out screen printing, lazer cutting, spray painting and photography during my first few months here and I think it’s amazing how many facilities are available to us at such easy access as it motivates me to be more creative more and broadens my imagination.
As for the actual lectures, workshops, and drop-ins although they are short they’re very impactful and interesting. In lectures, I find myself finding new things I didn’t even think of adding to my research or artwork and artists I’ve never heard of. I rarely leave not having something new in mind. In workshops I would create using materials I don’t like and end up living the outcome and having a change of heart about my hatred of that material (oil pastels😭) and being free to leave once I’m done is also a plus because in college I was forced to work until 5pm which would cause severe art block and burnout 😵‍💫 Drop-ins that gave me a chance to receive feedback on my work so far, I need to utilise drop ins more for the next project 🫣
I could talk quite a bit about things I enjoyed learning but there have been a few challenges. With the amount of freedom we get to come up with our own ideas and processes I found it hard to know where to start first which probably stems being baby fed ideas and starting point in college. I spent a lot of time thinking of what I should do first but I really should have just done anything. Small random sketches, thumbnails, incomplete rough drawings, anything. I was doing more artwork inside my brain than on paper and that caused me great stress later on because I started running out of time😰
Which leads me on to my greatest weakness, time management. Within these 3 months I learned I never want to be that stressed out 3 days before the hand in day. I felt like if I gradually did all the things as I thought of them and a bit extra I would have liked my poster a lot more. When I’m on a time crunch I find my art very sloppy, less though out and meaningful which isn’t the type of art I’d like to create. In college I was fine creating sloppy work as I felt like the ideas weren’t mine anyway but here in uni I want my work to be a depiction of me and my skill😎
This whole post sounds like I’m bashing my college lol but I just think that the way I get to work at university is just 10x better🤷🏽‍♀️
Overall I have enjoyed my time learning here at Portsmouth and am excited to see what’s to come next 💕

One of them works a flower shop and has a crush on the attractive stranger that comes in once a week to get a surprise bouquet as decoration for his apartment. Worker is too shy/nervous to ask the attractive stranger for a date so he puts together kind of love-confession kind of bouquets for him every week, expecting him to not know.
Turns out a friend/acquaintance of the stranger knows flower language and mentions it to stranger.
(Stranger/Worker cuz it could go either way; Blurry could also show up maybe idk)
ah yes the classic florist au... ok so crazy thing, I'm actually uniquely skilled in answering this type of idea since I'm a trained florist and have a lot of experience with both the language of flowers and experience working with them lol
though I know generally in these aus it's probably Tyler who's the florist, baby boy has (self-admitted) soft delicate hands and would not be up to the task of holding together spiralised stems and making 50+ arrangements in one day lmao; So self indulgently, I think I'd put Josh as the florist and Tyler as the cute stranger.
Also Josh strikes me as the romantic Type who would try to flirt with a ridiculously oblivious Tyler through a language that he absolutely would have no clue of reading. Disasters, both of them.
Perhaps in this universe, Tyler has just moved in across the street. His house is very bare except for perhaps a futon and a table, so it's pretty empty and dreary... But he notices the flower shop directly across from his window, and so he resolves to trot down and take a look.
Josh works there part time, while also working on music on the side; This job is pretty hard work, but he enjoys it because it's still creative and working with natural materials is always wonderful... Despite it always being so cold.
Tyler walks in that morning, still in the same clothes he's worn for a few days since all his stuff is still being shipped to him; He looks like a scruffy mess. Most stores would take one look at him and assume he's there to steal stuff, but Josh isn't the judgemental sort, and greets him in a pleasant friendly way!
Tyler kind of stares at him from under his hat, googly eyed. He has literally no idea what to get or how to ask, so he just sort of waves hello, and stumbles through asking for a bunch of flowers.
Josh tries to help him, by asking a few questions, like where he wants it, what he needs it for... if it's for anyone special. Tyler would kinda balk at that.
He'd say himself, then realise oh shoot that sounded self-aggrandizing, then tries to explain it's not that he thinks he's special or something... which Josh kinda smiles at, and says he looks pretty special to him.
Tyler's spirit almost leaves his body because he's so humiliated... But he does thank Josh, and say he seems pretty special too.
After that, they'd probably just get to talking, Tyler would explain he just moved in across the street, Josh would tell him about all the fun things to do around there...
though Tyler feels like he's fumbling, Josh is kinda starting to form a little crush on him. He's cute, he's funny... And they've really clicked in just one conversation.
Since Tyler has absolutely no idea what he wants, Josh assures him he'll whip him up something perfect for his new home.
Josh probably makes him these gorgeous, intricate hand tied bouquets; Wild and nature inspired, starting at first with a few pink roses scattered amongst delicate asparagus fern and the curves of a few sprigs of twisted willow; It's a pretty overt hint that he's kinda into him.
Once he hands the bouquet over, he offers it on the house, and, in a moment of courage, writes his phone number down on one of the tiny message cards, and tucks it into the bouquet. Telling Tyler to call him, since he's new in town and may not know anybody else yet.
Tyler seems pretty happy, relieved he hadn't messed up socialising with the first person he's spoken to in this town; He gratefully thanks him, and takes the bouquet and the card... Completely oblivious that Josh is flirting with him. Just thinking that this dude is super nice wow!
They say their goodbyes, and Tyler toddles off home carrying his huge bouquet... And Josh flops face first onto the countertop, realising he's immediately started crushing on this new guy.
*Bonus: Twin brother Blurry that's moved in with Tyler as his roommate, who's more world-wise than Tyler, immediately recognises the symbolism of pink roses and asparagus fern. He does not tell him.
