I'm like 90% sure if I don't get more of your ghost au I may just implode so like 🥺👉👈
not necessarily my AU but i ended up drawing smth based on a scene from @novethegreat's fic, "In Love With A Ghost". ooohhhh you wanna read it so bad ooooohh
+more google doc delusions ive had in my head for a long time and havent been possessed to draw under the cut please work god please
i like to think once yosuke gets over the whole undead roommate thing he starts to feel bad for leaving yu at home all day. (like a pet dog.....) so at some point he invites chie and yukiko over. maybe it’s a study session. but at first yukiko can’t make it so it’s just chie. yosuke tells yu to stay put in the room since chie is scared of ghosts (just like yosuke she’ll never admit it though lol). chie says that she and yukiko have been working on a new recipe and offers to cook which yosuke shoots down Very quickly, offering to cook himself, since a "friend" of his has been teaching him-- he very conveniently leaves out the whole undead roommate thing. but when he’s preparing the food he accidentally cuts his finger. yu forgets what he’s told and rushes through the walls into the kitchen scaring chie on accident.
yosuke: OW shit
yu: (phasing through the wall) yosuke! are you ok?
chie: yosuke! are youuuuuuUUUUAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHH
yukiko, the occult lover, is unable to see/hear ghosts… but when she hears abt "OHHH HANAMURAS APT IS HAUNTED ITS SO SCARY ITS AWFUL!!! i mean the ghost didnt kill me or anything he was actually pretty polite but its AWFUL!!!!!!" from chie, she gets sooo excited and begs yosuke to invite her over (for the ghost obviously not for yosuke. which is a bit of a blow to his ego LOL). and she comes in with a ouija board so she can talk to yu
yukiko: so. where is it?
yosuke: his name is yu. damn, not even a hello.
yukiko: well, where is he?
yosuke: …right over there.
yu tries to play along bc he thinks its fun, to yosukes exasperation. however he has trouble staying solid for very long so it takes foreverrrrr. but basically i think yu and yukiko writing each other notes to communicate like point blank pen pals would be cute… also when the others are around who can hear yu, playing telephone with what he says to yukiko and fucking it up (on accident OR on purpose) would be rly funny

sorry im emotonal and going off of the other asks sent about machete and just i need to stress how beautiful it is to me that machete sees himself so undeserving of love and affection and feeling as if vasco's too good for him but despite all that he is so incredibly devoted to vasco and loving towards him (in his own way) but is so incredibly clear to anyone with eyes that just how in love he is with vasco. like it's not done out of a "oh god please never realize that you're too good for me here here let me overdo it with the affection" its done with the "i love you, and will always love you, no matter what happens to us or separates us, and i will give it to you as long as i am able, and if you ever leave, i won't be okay, but will still love you, and want you happy". like he doesn't use his own feelings of being undeserving taint his love or the way he loves for vasco, and it's so, so beautiful

at any point in a day, in the middle of a week, at any moment,,, these parts are ALWAYS always in my head
wwx your little moments of unhinged and brutal rationality make me go insane and are, in my opinion, peak moments of the entire book

tom king is such a weird writer because it's like… calling him a "bad" writer doesn't even rly feel right. he's wrote some real dogshit for sure, but every writer has, and 9 times out of 10, his actual writing is… fine? like on a technical level, it's fine--good, even, a lot of the time. hate all you want, but there's a reason he's as popular as he is, and even the most virulent tk haters will usually have one or two comics of his that they have to admit they don't mind or even actually like
as much as i do dislike the majority of what i've read from him, putting him in the same category of someone like (more recent) bendis, whose comics are so technically bad that they're like.. genuinely difficult to read at times lol, doesn't really feel right?
i don't think he's "bad" in the usual sense you picture when you think of a "bad writer" so much as just fucking bizarre. if he were writing original stuff, he'd probably be fine, but i think the main problem (or one of them, anyway) he has is that he wants to explore the mindsets & motivations of the characters he's writing... but the characters he's writing in comic books are already established characters with already established mindsets & motivations, and he either has no interest in or just straight up fucking sucks at adhering/staying true to established characterizations
and then on top of that, he for some godforsaken reason just steadfastly fucking REFUSES to actually get into the head of the character whose heads he's trying to... get into--no internal dialogue of any kind, like, EVER. i seriously think a good 70% of his issues would vanish instantly if he'd just use a goddamn thought bubble every now and again
the best way i can describe his writing is just… "vague?" it's this weirdass thing where the characters aren't necessarily acting ooc so much as just… not acting at all. there are things that feel like they were meant to be these deep, meaningful, reflective character moments, but it only ever relates to the most surface-level traits and/or interprets them & their history in a way that's either literally incorrect or, more commonly, just off in a way that feels like it's being misremembered
reading characters in tk comics reflecting on their pasts feels like listening to a politician answering a question. so many words, very little actually said, and what little of substance there actually is feels strangely misconstrued and maybe deliberately obfuscated. it's just... so fucking weird

saiki being in a romantic relationship (or alternatively, actually trying to be in one) for the first time and having no experience or knowledge on what to do, so he falls back on behaviors hes picked up from the people around him..
but the most romance hes seen close up are his parents, aiura + teruhashi + yumehara with crushes and trying to flirt, etcetc (toritsuka does not count cuz what he does is hardly romantic, and that one time kuboyasu was ready to drop everything and marry a girl immediately doesnt count either cuz saiki expressively thought that was too much)
PLUS his own 'secret' obsession with romance stories and cliches..
so like.. crushy honeymoon romance is the only romance he KNOWS..
he would definitely find it too embarrassing to actually be as consciously lovey dovey as his parents are, and wouldnt want to try and be some 'knight in shining armor' like yumehara imagined him at first, but i think that 1) it would be a lot more subconscious and he would just not know any better than to latch onto his partner and 2) he would just choose (consciously AND subconsciously depending on the situation) to just try and do what he knows but in a subtle way..
like, he wouldnt write a love letter and pair it with a homemade chocolate heart like yumehara did, but he might write little notes (which are probably more like encouraging little phrases and paragraphs like a mom would put in her kids lunch than sweet love notes) and make baked goods for someone..
its probably mostly his mom that he models his behavior after, so he cooks for his person a lot and his most notable love language is probably acts of service
thats obviously not his only love language though, quality time was always his biggest until it came to romance and acts of service just barely weighs it out. words of affirmation is a big one for him too.. physical touch is also important for him, but not in the way that it would be for most people i think. its part of his love language more in a way that if he wants to touch a person at ALL, its an expression of love.. i think he would be big on sitting close together so his thighs and hands are just barely touching theirs, holding onto someones arm or having his arm be held, stuff like that..
