some more ghost rider sketches, version i guess i wanted to draw some bones,
including a partial prototype of whatever the hell the Rider has going on underneath his skin-suit (which might need more leather 'muscles' but. whatever), a theoretical endpoint of how dead Robbie could get in my verse, which. unlikely? extremely. but fun to draw, and a line-up of Robbie, Lisa, and Gabe
in theory, Lisa's sense of style was inspired by @wazzappp 's post of Claire's fashion Lisa, but, well, outfit design eludes me. so. brightly colored vague y2k vibes are. the best i got

i understand that if you’re sapphic and also incredibly and unironically into the mcu like i was a few years ago then the hand kiss from love and thunder might seem like a big deal and might make you feel really good but. it’s nothing. it’s literally fucking nothing. it’s a few seconds with an unnamed character and then valkyrie talks about her dead, also unnamed girlfriend for a bit. there are movies and television shows and books and idk podcasts that actually feature sapphic characters and/or relationships. you cannot, should not, and do not have to rely on the fucking marvel cinematic universe for queer representation. and the mcu should not be praised for “steps in the right direction” or whatever when we have actual representation elsewhere, and they are the ones lagging behind.

teeth beg for something tender to sink into ✩ a bucky/nat fic
The grin that spreads over her face is tempered when Madame B steps forward and dislocates her elbow. “Pride,” she sneers into Natalia’s ear over the crack of the bone, while Soldat watches expressionlessly—his right hand tenses almost imperceptibly— “will get you nowhere. You are to do as you are asked, and that is that. Unnecessary showing off will get you eliminated, do you understand?”
Cowed and obedient, Natalia says, “Yes, Madame,” but all she can think is Made you look, bastard. She made him look, and now it’s like he can’t tear his eyes away.
(natasha’s had many an origin story: in 2005 it starts with a shotgun wedding, in the 1950s it’s with a metal-armed soldier and a side of communism. you know how it goes.)

i think the thing with both the batman and spiderman homecoming is that both films opt not to reshow the scene of the guardian death that is the catalyst for the superhero choice, but only the batman is able to still clearly portray how deeply that moment affected the hero. I think avoiding reshowing the death of bruces parents/uncle ben was a good choice, weve all seen the moment a million times and we know its what leads both bats and spidey to be who they are now, theres no need to show us again. but its exceedingly clear in the batman that bruce is deeply traumatized by that moment and is trying to heal his own wounds by fixing the issues in gotham, while spiderman homecoming (and im assuming the rest of the mcu spidey movies) never show the impact of uncle bens death on peter in any substantial way and its almost like it never happened at all. not directly depicting the guardian death scene and not letting it come through in the character are two entirely different things; we all know that it happened, but its a deeply impactful moment of the characters life and not showing that impact at all is such an insult to the character of spiderman. we shouldnt know uncle ben dies only because we already knew uncle ben dies.

ive seen the critical reviews. ive seen the fan hype. ive seen the hate. i can imagine sam raimi working against the constraints of mcu monotony leading to something very halfcocked, unrealized. cinematic edging? if u wanna talk abt it here, what did u see happen that made it so bad its entertaining again?
i think for me the review that best summed it up was someone who said that they liked it because they were just letting the insanity run through them, because the second you try to actually think of whats happening it will make you angry.
the thing that for me took it from bad to entertaining was just the fact that the plot was so incomprehensible, had 0 interest in making even the slightest bit of sense (especially not for me who, admittedly, did not watch any of the most important movies and shows that work as backstory for this movie. ive literally only seen infinity war and endgame).
at a certain point all the throwing out of names of magical items that ive never heard before, characters screaming their deep feelings over events that i had not seen, and just random absurd plot details that pop up out of nowhere (that according to people who DID watch all the movies and shows, still dont make any sense even if you did do the homework that i neglected to do) makes it like. honestly almost like the room or a neil breen movie climax where its just complete word salad. they introduce a bunch of fan service character reveals and then 3 minutes later kill them off and expect you to care about these characters you literally just met. doctor strange possesses his own zombified-corpse alternate self (despite the fact that the entire movie is about how wanda possessing her alternate selves is inherently evil) and then gets attacked by demons that are never even mentioned until the SCENE they appear in. and then the demons help him defeat these random giant statues that are wanda's henchmen. its chaotic all around which is always what i personally find entertaining in a bad movie.
especially combined with the fact that the acting is not awesome which makes it even more in line with a classic so bad its good movie. and the fact that they kind of toned down on the mcu quips which are easily the part that kills the humor the most(the quips are like. particularly bad by mcu standards but theyre quarantined to their own rapidfire "joke" telling scenes and so they dont infect the action scenes or anything like that)

Thinking way too much about the logical implications of Hydra. So they infiltrate organizations and do evil things or something yeah? We know the winter soldier was in Russia for a while. So hydra infiltrated the Soviet government. To do what? Anti-soviet things? Well if the cold war is to be believed, to be anti-soviet is to be pro-american! So that makes hydra the good guys! But surely not. So then they must have just exacerbated the evil already existing in the system. But if the government is already doing evil things, what actually sets hydra apart? The fact that they are a global organization playing both sides? Which in a way is commendable! It's a very rare thing to be able to resist party lines and have a truly global perspective. Diversity win: the organization brutally torturing people has members all across the world! I am starting to suspect hydra exists solely to be a convenient enemy for Captain America to fight.
