Tumgik
#but if it gets to acowar i will be Suprised
Note
Rereading ACOWAR, and Feyre compares everything about the Night Court and the Spring Court to make Night seem better. It’s genuinely excessive. Like, she even compared the food and how it’s plated. I mean, girl- 💀✋
Hi anon!!
Ikr 💀🥲
She says ik I shouldn't compare but then proceeds to compare?
It's so immature she is this close 🤏🏼 to taking out a measuring tape and seeing whose dick is longer Rhysie or Tamlins
And not to be that anti but srsly can we talk about how shallow it is to do that?
Tamlin's court was ENSLAVED. It suffered Amarantha's sole attention and wrath being the only court not utm. Tamlin and his sentries are working damn hard to protect the borders in book 1. It's been mentioned multiple times that Amarantha sent her cronies to destroy the spring court time and time again. On the other hand, Velaris was unscathed. Instead of providing protection to innocents,( and I am not even talking about people of other courts, Rhysie did not provide refuge to HIS CITIZENS) Velaris remained hidden and unscathed from Amarantha's horrors OFC ITS FUCKING BETTER THAN A SLAVE COUNTRY FEYRE!!!!
No but I get why sjm felt a need to reiterate at every opportunity that the Night Court is better than the Spring court. She goes out of her way to point at the most irrelevant differences and then manipulate the reader into thinking the nc was better because of it. Like at one point I remember she said that Lucien looked suprised while eating food because in Spring Court everything was like very lavish and cooked in butter and shit and in Velaris everything was very simple and nice...there was also something about the beans being different- and I was just like girl whawt? 💀
See, in my opinion and ig the opinions of many before the acomaf manipulation everyone wud have chosen to live in the SC over the NC any day cause like let's be honest meadows and fields and flowers and willows >>> a modern city wid a stupid river and what i can only presume as the Northern Lights every friggin night.
So you see how important it was for sjm to make everything about the Spring Court shit to make the NC seem better?

Gwyn’s song and Cauldron’s song
This post is linked to lightsinger gwyn theory so if you don’t like that theory...scroll past this post!
Also if you want to read about lightsinger gwyn theory @silverlinedeyes made wonderfull posts about it. You can find them >> Part1 and Part2
As we know Cauldron lured elain in acowar and captured her.
What’s suprising about that scene is that cauldron’s luring was described as a song.
Tumblr media
It was a song
Invitation and alluring(this is going to be important in the first point)
Tumblr media
Sang its siren song
Now let’s look at the similarities between Cauldron’s song and gwyn’s song
1.
Tumblr media
Beckoning light
So I searched for the synonyms for beckoning and look what we have:
Tumblr media
Invite and Allure
Two words that were used to describe Cauldron’s song.
2.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see Graysen was beckoning to Elain. Calling to her. Saying things that she wanted to hear.
And with gwyn’s song nesta thinks
Like Gwyn was calling only to her
More important part is that “in a way that others’ hadn’t” as if gwyn’s singing is different than others’
3.
Tumblr media
As we see here. The shadows could hear the song of the Cauldron.
And in the bonus chapter we see that one of his shadows danced with gwyn’s breath like it heard some silent music.
Tumblr media
In both senarios azriel himself couldn’t hear it but his shadows could.
4.
In acowar when cauldron went away it was described like this.
Tumblr media
The presence, the weight... vanished
And in acosf chapter52 nesta was scrying with the song. And when the song halted the vision stopped.
Tumblr media
So all of this can’t be coincidence with how sarah chooses her words very carefully.
We learn that luring can happen with a song
Sarah gives us a new creature called “lightsinger” that can lure people
In the same book we get to know a new character who glows while she is singing

Oh, hey, and since you are a Eris apologist (yayy), I just wanted to say that the relationship between Eris and Mor bugs me a LOT. Like, since acowar. their behavior around each other is so weird, when feyre came back to the NC, Mor looked like she was so worried that something happend to Eris during the AC-NC fight. I'm very curious to learn their history, but I would not be suprised if they are mates and know it, and do not want to be together while do not entirely refuses the bond.
Are you talking about the fight on the lake or at the High Lord's meeting? Regardless I'd have to go back over that I thought Mor feigned indifference or simply didn't care both times. At the meeting she seemed like she hated him.
Yeah, I'm on the their mates train as well. If they are what I don't get is breaking the bond could possibly drive the male crazy right? if Mor truly hates him why does she care? Why not just break it off?
What's frustrating too is Eris refuses to talk about it unless it's with Mor. But Mor won't talk to him. The whole thing is bizarre and confusing. By Eris' account he helped her and saved her. From Mor's he was an ass, who dropped her on the border with zero fucks given. It's this tiring battle of he said, she said.
I do think very soon. As in the next acotar book it will come to a head. Mor will talk to him. Hopefully on her terms where she's not rushed to do so for the sake of someone else's benefit.

Getting back into reading!!!!
For about two years now reading has been hard for me. Even though for most of my life, ever since I learned to read as a kid, I have devoured book after book after book, usually several per month. But for some reason for the past two years I could bearely get through one book every two months.
But two months ago I finally got my reading fire back. Huzzaah! And the book that got me fired up again was (to my utmust and complete surprise and even a little frustration and dissapointment) A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. One of my best friends was doing a re-read and ofcourse the re-read bug bit me too.
When I read this book for the first time 4 years ago, I read it like a masterpiece and loved it so much that I immediatly ordered the second; A Court of Mist and Fury. Which at the time also felt like a masterpiece to me. The second time I read these books was right before the third came out; A court of Wings and Ruin, a book I’d been waiting for and marked in my dairy and even pre-ordered.
So the second time I read ACOTAR, I was slightly dissapointed because I no longer got the rush from it like I did the first time I read it. And to my memory it felt bland next to how I remembered how ACOMAF made me feel, which read like a train the second time I read it, even though I started noticing some small things that bothered me. So eventually I got to the third book; A Court of Wings and Ruin. Which was definitly disapointing to me, even reading it for the first time. I was expecting to love it.
Now, we are a few years later and I’ve just read ACOTAR and ACOMAF all over again. And I’m grateul to these books for getting me into reading again. And to my surprise, this time I preferred ACOTAR over ACOMAF. (MINDBLOWN!)
I no longer think this series is a masterpiece (anything but) but it’s an easy read, you don’t need to think too hard, the writing is pretty simple and sometimes even pretty. The plot is never complicated and, honestly, I do love myself some good smut.
ACOTAR
So ACOTAR Round 3: I really liked it best this time. Especially because the plot is so much smoother than ACOMAF and ACOWAR, and most important, it’s THERE, it’s visible, it’s noticable. Every little thing the characters do, especially Lucien and Tamlin, make sense at some point. Things just click once you get to Under The Mountain. And I love that in books! Books that leave hints for you to pick up on (or not), so nothing seems like its a sudden *gasp* suprise! I mean, plot twists are fantastic, but only if they’re executed well. When you feel something coming or you pick up the bread-crumbs left througout the story, and even though you don’t know how to put them together yet, you know they mean something and it will make sense in the end. And ACOTAR gave me this! It all made sense in the end:
-The mention of Tamlin’s heart of stone several times
- The vague mentions of a plague or blight on the land
- Lucien and Tamlin purposely letting her spy and figure things out on her own
You know, those little things, that all become more logical at the end. I really appreciate that in a book.
The Love story between Tamlin and Feyre was also nice. It’s wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. I’m still not sure if Tamlin truly loves her but I do believe he cares about her a lot in this book. After all, he is being nice to her on purpose and that purpose is to save his people and ending a curse. So does he love Feyre or does he love what she could represent for the future of his people? But I am convinced he cares about her lot, otherwise he wouldn’t have send her away before UTM to save her and so condemn his own people. So maybe there was some love in the end.
The ending itself was great. I loved that Feyre ended up solving the riddel, I only thought the riddle was a little obvious? I mean, I figured it out before Feyre did (even at the first read), but being good or bad at riddles isn’t something I can judge a person for. I think it was amazing Feyre died before being Made Fae, even if, secretely, I would have loved for her to have stayed human. That would have been an interesting story too.
There were definitly consequences for the main characters to work through at the end of the book. Something I looked forward too in book 2. And each character has their good parts and bad parts and the writing accepts that and doesn’t apolagize for it. No one loves perfect characters (looking at you ACOMAF Rhys and Feyre!).
So I finished ACOTAR with a happy feeling.
ACOMAF
On to ACOMAF, knowing that I loved it in Round 1, was dissapointed in Round 2. And in Round 3 I found myself somewhere in between love and disapointment.
Things I loved (because you always start with the positive:
- The slowburn romance building. Was it eye-rolling at times? Definitly. it’s not my favorite romance couple of all books (Phèdre and Jocelin from Kushiel’s Dart *chef’s kiss*) but I liked how it build slowly and how both of them were given the time to get to know eachother.
- The Inner Circle. Always nice to welcome new characters into a story. I love their love and friendship, their banter in amusing, and I’m a sucker for found family.
- Learning more about Prythian. We go to so many more places then in ACOTAR. In ACOTAR we only got the human realm, Tamlin’s Mansion and Under The Mountain. In ACOMAF we get Spring Court, Human Realm, Night Court, Velaris, The Prison, Weaver’s Hut, Illyrian places, and (most importantly!) Adriata. So many Courts out there and we are now on Court 3! So much more to explore!
- Lucien. I just really like his character. He’s both a good guy and a bad one. He tries. He wants to be loyal to his only friend, support him and help him, and that is so admirable, but at the cost of Feyre. Which is bad. He is just so conflicted. The right thing to do is not so easy from his point of view. For Feyre it’s easy: yes, he should just help her and stand up for her. But from his own point of view he sees a Court, his Court, that has been devastated for 50 years, his friend comes back broken and in pieces, and in the end he’s only known Feyre for 6 months or so? I understand him chosing the Spring Court and Tamlin before anything else. Even if it’s terrible for Feyre. And it does makes him something of a coward. But he tries to the best of his abilities, even if it’s not enough. I love the duality of Lucien. This is what makes a character interesting: the good AND the bad. Because he did, UTM, help Feyre as much as Rhys did. He healed her, warned her during the Myddengard Wyrm thing. He tried. But he’s not al all powerful High Lord who has somewhat gained the trust of Amarantha.
And in ACOMAF he still tries though it’s obvious he’s chosen Tamlin. He’s allowed to do that, even if it makes him an awefull friend towards Feyre. It doesn’t make him a terrible villain monster.
The only thing agree with does make him the worst, is him trying to force Feyre to go back with him in the woods. And yet he did that for Tamlin. All of it, all of what he does, is (in his mind) in the name of friendship and protecting his Court. The goal is good, the means are wrong.
Anyway I like Lucien, even if we didn’t get much of him in ACOMAF.
The things I was dissapointed in (because hate is too strong a word):
- The drama of everything. Everyone gets a sob story, a horrible painful sobstory, because that’s the only way to know if you can like and trust someone I guess? Rhys’s father, mother and sister are murdered, Mor was tortured and brutalized by her own family, Cassian is a bastard that had to fend for himself nearly to starvation, Azriel is a bastard brutalized by his borthers and ignored by his family, and Feyre fits right in I guess. I know it’s fantasy, but please, does no one get a happy childhood in this book? I’d like to include Amren but we really don’t know much about her at this point and we don’t learn much more either.
- Taking away Rhys’s bad boy points??? It made him as interesting as Lucien in my book, the bad he’s done. Why does everything that he did Under The Mountain have to because a ‘Mask’ now. What made him so interesting was because he did all those things thinking he maybe liked them. Now we need to find out he was suffering all along and didn’t want to do it. He just had to to protect his people. I mean, make some things a ‘Mask’ but maybe leave us some bad things because he enjoys them?
- Which leads me to the third things that I disliked: the constant comparison to Tamlin. Suddely, all the good things about Tamlin in ACOTAR disapeared, and Tamlin becomes monster villain number 1 with no good qualities whatsoever. I totally agreed with Feyre staying away from Tamlin for awhile, but to just never go back again? Once she felt like she was strong enough to talk to him, she should have. Was Tamlin in the wrong with how he treated Feyre, YES ABSOLUTELY. But she could have gone back, with Rhys and the Innder Circle for back-up, and sat down with him to talk to him about it. I wish an attempt was made. But I think we all know that Sarah just needed us to hate Tamlin to make Rhys look more perfect. Feyre shouldn’t go back to Tamlin, after Under The Mountain, they’rr not good for eachother. But Tamlin doesn’t know Rhys is secretly a good guy. Feyre got to know him but no one else in Prythian knows Rhys is just pretending. So it’s incredibly ridiculous to assume that Tamlin knows Rhys is good? Rhys behaved like a villain in public on purpose and it worked. And now they are surprised eveyron thinks Rhys is a villain? Of course Tamlin and Lucien believe Feyre is being controlled or manipulated. It’s why I can understand why they want to force her to come back. they truly don’t know any better.
COMMUNICATION IS KEY. Feyre complains how Tamlin never asked her how she felt or how he never wanted to talk abou what happened UTM, but she never asked him either. So this shit goes both ways. I feel for Tamlin and I feel for her. They BOTH couldn’t talk about it but everything gets blamed on Tamlin because his behaviour is more outrageous. She should have gone back (WITH BACK-UP) and talked to him. Would have prevented the weird ending
- And that leads me to the ending. Did anyone really think it would be that simple? Just sneak in and out and that’s that? Like. I love clues in books, but this really screamed TRAP AHEAD *Leliane voice is DA Origins*. Also, Rhys is supposed to be the most powerful High Lord ever, but he’s really easy to subdue and trick. I mean, the King of Hybern is supposedly a warlord of masterful cunning....
And the fact they left Amren in Velaris. Everyone seems to agree she’s even more powerful than Rhys. They should have left Mor and Cassian in Velaris and taken Amren and the King of Hybern would have died then and there. Making stupid decisions to further the plot is not fun to read. Write better! But then again, ACOMAF was never really about the plot so if you read this book accepting it’s all about romance building and some smut, it’ll be easier. It’s what I did :P
And some minor annoyances:
- I feel liked everyone’s going to find love in these books. Because being single is BAD I guess. It’s too convenient.
- I would have loved for one weaker character to be in the Inner Circle. Not everyone can be overpowered. Where are my bookworms that make plans and don’t have flashy powers that can make mountains tremble when they orgasm?
- Velaris was too modern? I miss a more fae place? Less with bars and dancings and stores selling lacey underwear? Feyre in leggings and an over-sized sweater annoyed me. Seriously.
And that’s that.
I’m so happy to be reading again! And writing about reading ><
Next is A Court of Wings and Ruin.

Listen Here Buddy
One sentence summary: Cassian and Rhys visit a training camp, where Cassian makes a bet with a young warrior-in-training.... A/N: This is set after the events of ACOWAR, but it's (mostly) spoiler free! Enjoy :) ------------------------- Rhysand's POV Cassian and I flew over the steppes in the northern Night Court, relishing the crisp mountain air. I glided through the sky, just below the billowing white clouds and watched Cassian bank and dive and twist, clearly enjoying his newly healed wings. I smiled at the sight, glad he was finally back in his element. "Are you done fooling around?" I called, straining to be heard over the wind. "We do have actual tasks to accomplish, you know." He flashed me a toothy grin as he maneuvered next to me. A few pieces of his dark hair had fallen loose from where it was tied back, making him look even more like a mischievous youngling. "For now at least. I can't speak for when I get back to the House of Wind though, with Nesta there-- what?" His grin grew wider at my grimace. "So you can say all you want to about what you do to pleasure your mate, but I can't?" He did have a point, but I didn't give him another chance to gloat. I shot towards the camp far below in attempt to escape the metal image Cas had planted in my head. I touched down near the mess hall, content to observe the Illyrians complete their daily tasks. To my delight, I noted that the females were indeed in the training ring, practicing combat with the males. Feyre would be glad to hear her first visit to this camp had sufficed in scaring wits into it's commander. As I murmured with those who approached, Cassian landed hard behind me, sending a thundering echo throughout the camp. "You scope out the rest of the camp. I'll check in with Jedrick." Cassian merely grunted at me and stalked off to gather information from his own lieutenants. Despite appearing calm on the surface, his glowing blood red siphons calling his bluff. Being in a training camp set us both on edge, but I schooled my features into a mask of bored indifference. I strode towards the heart of the camp, tucking my wings in to close out the chill. Through the open flap in the commander's tent, I spotted Jedrick discussing the day's plans with a small band of his soldiers. His wings rustled uncomfortably as I walked through the doorway. "What can I do for you, High Lord?" He asked, earning a sigh from me. I just wanted to get this visit over with and get back to Velaris. However, it seemed Jedrick had other plans. He smoothed a hand across his close cropped blond hair and straightened. "Had I known you were flying by, I would have made preparations, please excuse the mess-" I held up a hand to stop him. Opposed to most Illyrians, Jedrick was not nearly as full of himself and was a brown-noser to a fault. "I'm just here for an update. I have many more important things to do, so let's make this quick." His usually tan skin paled at the slight insult, but he wisely turned to lead me through his dinky camp. I tuned out most of what he said, only catching snippets here and there. I nodded along and feigned interest when necessary, attempting to hasten my departure. When I finally escaped Jedrick's droning to grab Cassian and ditch, he was nowhere to be seen. I skirted the camp perimeter, hoping he was waiting nearby. Toward the eastern edge of the forest, I spotted a faint tendril of smoke raising toward the sky. Knowing I would find Cassian there, I let the scent of charred game and the sounds of rich laughter guide me to a clearing seperate from the rest. Small, ramshackle shelters built into the side of the steppes sat in a semicircle, centered around a small fire. Younglings huddled on uneven stumps around it, telling stories and roasting their latest meal. I wasn't suprised to find him here, in the bastard's camp. We both harbored soft spots for them; having lived in one ourselves many years ago I spotted Cassian off to the side, where he stood having a heated discussion with a shadowed figure. Probably arguing about some small detail of one of his historic battles. I advanced through the trees, intending to step in if need be.   I cast a glamour over myself to hide any scent or sight, but I was puzzled by Cassian's loud bark of laughter. "Listen here, buddy. I'm the best at hopscotch player. I ruled that game when I was your age. There's no way you could beat me." He crossed his arms as a cocky smirk rose to his lips. As I crept closer to monitor the exchange, I realized Cassian was conversing with a young Illyrian, no more than 11 years old. Black talons gleamed atop his still growing wings, peeking over his shoulders. The boy's shaggy dark hair swished across his forehead as he shook his head. "Yes, when you were my age. That was what, like, a thousand years ago? I think you're a little out of practice," Cas's jaw slackened at the jab, and I pursed my lips. This kid was something else. I had seen grown men tremble on their knees in fear before Cassian, but this young warrior didn't seem phased in the slightest. "What's your name, kid?" He straightened and puffed out his chest. "Konane. My da was an Illyrian warrior. I'll be like him soon." Cassian's eyes gleamed, seeing a sliver of himself in the boy's will. "I challenge you to a game of hopscotch, so we can settle this feud!" Determination shined in Konane's pale blue eyes as he stared the deadly warrior down. Cassian scratched his chin, considering the boy's words. "Alright Konane, let's do it. And I'll tell you what, if you manage to beat me, I'll even give you this." He held out a short silver dagger that glinted in the rays of the sun. Konane eyed the piece with hunger and he flashed Cassian a wicked grin. "It's a deal. But," he countered, "we play the old way." Cassian's brow furrowed in confusion, and he motioned for Konane to continue. "No wings. You have to balance on your own. If your wings flare even the slightest bit, you loose your turn." I leaned against a tree and let out an impressed huff. He was smart, knowing Cas's training made him completely reliant on his wings. "Fine, I can do that. That's fair." Cassian rotated his shoulders as if preparing for a battle. Confidence exuded from the General as he mentally predicted a swift victory. "Your wings aren't fully grown yet anyway, so yeah. I'll play by your rules, and I'll still win!" ---------------- Within the first five minutes, it was clear Konane would give Cassian a run for his money. Indeed, Cas was out of practice, and his wings betrayed him often. They flared instinctively a few inches each time he landed off center, siphons flickering with frustration. Sweat tracked down his brow as he desperately tried to stifle his instincts. Meanwhile, Konane had no trouble at all and never once stumbled. He gave Cas a lazy grin. "Still so confident, General Commander?" Cassian narrowed his eyes at the child before tossing his rock, which landed just inside the '2' square. "Yes," he grumbled, his expression one of complete concentration. ------------------- I stood within the shadows of the treeline for the better part of an hour, watching the two toss stones into the marked spaces and jump the length of the course. I could barely contain my snickering as I witnessed the mighty General of my armies get his ass handed to him by a youngling. Konane was now only one toss and a few hops away from victory. "This your last chance to redeem yourself, Cas," Konane told him, the easy use of the nickname catching him off gurard. He let out a low growl and made his toss. I rose on my toes in anticipation, the rock sailing smoothly through the air. It smacked the ground with a small thunk, and Cassian sank to a knee and groaned. It had missed it's mark, and landed wide outside of the 4 space. I couldn't contain myself any longer. I let my glamour slip as my laughter echoed through the clearing, making both warriors jump at my sudden appearance. "Rhysand," Cassian remarked, straightening his armor as he stood up. "How long have you been standing there?" Oh, he was embarrased. He had a reputation to uphold, after all. My responding smirk told him what he needed to know. Konane, on the other hand, went slack jawed before bowing deeply. "My lord," he marveled, respect coating his voice. "Rise," I told him, dipping my head in acknowledgement. "I'm very impressed that you were able to best my General, Konane. Perhaps I can make room in the ranks for you, eh?" Matching mischievous smiles rose to our faces at Cassian's bewildered expression. "Cas, I believe you made the boy a deal, yes?" He cut a glare in my direction before turning back to the boy. "Here." He grumbled, shoving the sheathed Illyrian blade in the boy's direction. When Konane reached to take his newly won blade, Cas resisted like the four year old he was. Finally, Konane wrestled it free from his grasp, and pride shone brightly in his face. Cassian gave me one last good-natured glare before stalking off. "Don't ever let him live this down," Konane told me as he beamed at Cassian's retreating back. I winked at him. "Oh, don't worry. The first thing I’m doing when I get home is telling Feyre. He'll hear about this for the next thousand years."

Just finished reading ACOWAR
OK. So first of all. Bravo Sarah for once again breaking me, but putting me back together again completely without cracks. I appreciate my trust in you not being broken. However, I'm very very angry at you for not allowing me to stay hating any characters. LET EVIL PEOPLE STAY EVIL GOSH DARN IT! My emotions require to have a hate filled outlet. I'm not fully satisfied though, as I kinda was hoping that Elain and Azriel would get together... mating bond or no mating bond. But I CAN'T have Lucien being heartbroken either. It's bad enough that him and Tamlin's Bromance has been shattered. Like. It. Actually. Hurts. Me. To. See. Lucien. Sad. I NEED CLOSURE WITH THIS STUFF. Though the suprise of the Archeron dad coming to their rescue made me tear up. HE'S NOT A SELF OBSESSED ABSENT FATHER. He had a chance to repay his daughters for all the years they suffered as he went through his own depression not worrying about their own health. That was so very very satisfying, though painful that their last connection to the human world was broken when that bone cracked... The SURIEL THOUGH. Yall. THAT'S LIKE MY FAVOURITE DUO I SEE ON TUMBLR. Yall have made me so obsessed with their friendship. And the suriel was the real and true mvp and just agagacag. Imma miss that lovely creature. Azriel is so perfect and I spent the entire book thinking that he would end up being the sacrifice just because he is so good and honorable and pure and selfless. But HE LIVED. OMLORD PRAISE ABOVE! Him and Mor need to have that dang conversation just so that he can move forward. I know he'd be ok with it since he's just that kind of perfect. But they can be bros again and him and Cassian can help play matchmaker and defend mors honor should any prat break her heart. Az can provide the icecream. :) I CAN NOT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE. AGH.
