i was listening to this song and thinking of soap so
"what do you mean your goin Johnny i thought you requested leave" you stared at the scottish man across from you setting down your coffee cup "i did but they need my help and i cant abandon my team you know that" he tried to reason with you reaching out to caress your cheek only to get his hand pushed away "yeah cour i know johnny but you have no problem abandoning me do you" you huff and shove past him fighting back the tears. Johnny was quick to follow you into yalls shared bedroom sighing as he watched you pull out his suitcases "its only for a little bit and ill be back before you know it please just trust me" johnny gently took your hands away from the angry packing you were doing turning you to look at him gently cupping your cheeks "im guessing i cant beg you to stay can i" you said with a watery laugh "Ill always come back home to you" he reassured pulling you into a soft kiss "just please come home johnny" you sniffle as you hug him tight inhaling his scent like it was the last time youd smell him.
The following week he was being shipped out to god knows where and you were stuck at home nothing but worry on your mind as you thought of johnny, days turned into weeks then months and all you could cling to was the occasional phone call or letter that would keep you goin "never thought id see as many stars as i am right now darlin" Johnny wrote in his latest letter "wish you were here to see em with me instead of 1000 miles away just out of reach" you clutched that letter close to your heart as you made your way out into the backyard staring up at the vast expanse of stars that blanketed the sky.
johnny would be home anyday now and you were frantically cleaning and making sure you had everything to make the house comfy for johnnys return. You ran to the door excitedly when you heard the knocks ring through the house swinging it open excitment on your face only for it all to crumble around you as Price, Gaz, and Ghost stood before you in their military best holding the scottish flag and Johnnys dog tags "no, no, no no no no no no" you kept repeating stumbling back into your house quickly being escorted to sit down by Ghost who held a somber look on his otherwise emotionless face
"im so sorry lass" Price muttered kneeling before you gently setting the flag in your lap all you could do was run your fingers over the dog tags ringing in your ears as you began sobbing "just breathe, breathe its okay weve got you" Gaz reassures "this is some fucked up joke right" you tried to reason as you choked down the sobs threatening to rip out of your throat "im so so so sorry lass" Price repeated as he took your hands gently "wha- what happened" is all you could think to ask as you clutched his dog tags "Makarov he had us pinned and got a cheap shot on johnny, he was dead before he hit the ground" Ghost said as he sat beside you. All you could do was fold into yourself clutching the flag and the dog tags close knowing youll never get to tell johnny you loved him or look at the stars again knowing johnny wouldnt be on the other side watching them with you.

What platform do you use to make your art?
Also any tips for very new artists who are bad at art
IbisPaint X!! Its free & im p sure its on most devices (i use my phone for like 90% of my art).
But sometimes ill plan out or make a rough draft of a piece on my tablet. Its an amazon one so its got like NO art apps...at all. But the best ive found thats free & its called ArtFlow!
As for tips about art, im like the worst at answering that since 90% of when im drawing im just fuckin around and attempting to find out. Most I can think of to say is below! [its a bit long oops]
1. Have fun with finding your style. My art style almost changes every year if not like multiple times a year. Hell if you look at how i drew HMS in like, March it looks very different than how i draw them now. But every time it changes i feel more confident in it! Also its just fun sometimes to draw in a different way :}
2. Its 100% chill if you ever feel burntout or feel like ya "lost the touch". Feel like its said a lot but you do get out of that pit (haha get it like the song) eventually and youll prolly even make something ur hella proud of! Also if its not goin great its good to take a br8k and maybe try the next day. Sometimes ya just be in a funk and its best to make sure ur all hydrated n rested. And a much as i don't listen to myself sometimes, those things rlly do help
3. Last thing i can think of is that its sometimes real difficult to find a good reference of somethin. Whether it be like a pose, an outfit or something, you can always use yourself as a ref! For things like a ref to look at or even to use as a base. And of course not everyone like taking a photo of themself (me included) but its not only very helpful and takes less time than searching through pinterest & google for like an hour, but helps you get confident in yourself! Ive never be confident in myself (specially with that gender dysphoria an all) but it helps to take a photo in a pose, outfit or even a half ass cosplay. Gettin used to yourself in a photo might take a bit but it takes you a good way.
Sorry if this didnt help im not quite good at tips and teaching things. If youd like more ideas/help with things like shading or somethin, id be happy to post a vid of like a speedpaint or something on how i color n stuff :}

so yeah youre totally right it IS one of the games ever made!!!
the premise of the plot is that you wake up hangover ass naked, legendarily hangover and comin down from a high, to a trashed apartment with no memory of who you are or wtf is goin on. then you get told youre a cop, then you get told theres a guy that's been hanged rotting behind the shitty motel you've stayed at, and then a guy who claims to be your partner on the case (lieutenant kitsuragi aka The best character) informs you that youve got to find the murderer.
the universe is.... like a mirror of ours? the continents (isolas) have their own countries and histories, which is explored in depth by the game, and some of the quests. i can't really describe it, but its a completely believable world (im not even gonna call it a fictional world, THATS how good it is) with very well developed geography lore and mythology. The world is shrinking and there are cryptids to be hunted and theres a bitter old man in the square who fought against the revolutionaries, and the union fights against a corporate, and theres is something deeply wrong with the kids, and a man was hanged behind your hostel
to keep in mind, the game is as much a game a political and philosophical manifesto. a LOT of interactions youll have with the world and the characters that are esoteric discussions about politics and the meaning of life and existence and how the revolution in revachol (the capitol of the world) and martinaise affected the people and their socioeconomic situation.
as to the game itself, its an rpg, where you have 24 skills that you can level, and you interact with the world mainly through various active and passive checks. so its partially based on luck, but to every problem, riddle or obstacle you encounter on your murder investigation there are a metric ton of ways to solve it (i have 130h in that game and i just learned recently that during one of the major plot events things can go south in a very specific way and you gain a new companion. for example) what i wanna say is, the game is absolutely massive and very branching in story elements but also dialogue! a Lot of what you do and say has influence on your character and his future, after you solve (or don't solve) the case
apropos dialogue. this is as much a game as a book too (devs say its a million words. of course you cant encounter alllll the dialogue in one playthrough but. yanno), BUT with the new patch its ALL fully voiced now, and on god the performances and accents and the speaking styles of the main/supporting/side or just throwaway characters are SO varied and distinct, its a pleasure to listen to!
moreover, the skills i mentioned earlier arent just numbers. those are characters almost as much as any other, giving helpful advice and unlocking dialogue options, all the while talking and bickering among each other in your head (volition and encyclopedia my beloveds). roughly half of the 1 million words are them talking to you. in your head.
and did i mention literally everything looks GORGEOUSLY handpainted and textured? the visuals of the game, especially the portraits and some illustrations are breathtaking! genuinely the story and the art and the voices and the long winded but fascinating polit-philosophical tangents and discussions, its a masterfully crafted package, i literally could not gush more about it, and i barely scratches the surface
and well, if that doesnt convince you... uh you can be a commie superstar and a part of the homosexual underground with a fucked up kid on the leash and start a night club in a church. with a programmer lady who's trying to find out wtf is going on with the world, and thats just ONE way the story can go!
sorry for not answering this earlier, i was almost dying here but now im a little better
i have to say, this all looks really interesting, and ive seen some of screenshots of it, it looks very beautiful. unfortunately, its 150 reais (27 dollars) on console and 75 reais (13 dollars) on steam, and my pc SUCKS, so i cant buy it on steam AND its costy on console, so im gonna have to wait till its on sale :/
