what they don't tell you about having posts blow up is people will compete for the opportunity to be The One who adds something onto it in the hopes that it will become The Definitive Version of the post that goes around. this can range anywhere from pointless but harmless commentary to annoying garbage that's an active diversion from the point you were trying to make

I don't know why but I like the fact that there's a trans guy that is just an asshole. not evil or insane, but just your average guy who's not nice to everyone and can hate someone just because they hate them. more asshole characters, please. more character who are just average people but are just mean.
I get what you mean! I'm always down for some 'toxic' gay rep, so I love having some (read: most) of my queer characters being some form of complex; whether they be murderers (*cough cough*) or even just assholes / mean, I think it's fun!

I remember people would call those "is the [animal] video cute" blogs annoying and preachy but it's like. I don't blame them for being preachy assholes considering people are willingly ignorant and don't give a single shit Abt animal welfare. You can try to be nice and passive to ppl all you want but they will scream and cry and defend themselves and call you names insisting it's okay to abuse animals so if people have to resort to being blunt assholes to get their point across I don't blame them at all

Happy Queer Media Monday!
Today: Single All The Way (2021)
(Nick and Peter)
Single All The Way is a gay Christmas romcom released by Netflix. The story follows Peter, who is unable to keep a long-term relationship, despite his family really, REALLY wanting him to. When his most recent boyfriend turns out to be actually married, causing a break-up just before Christmas, Peter tries to remedy things by bringing his best friend and roommate Nick home over the holidays instead. The original idea is to fake a relationship, but it goes immediately out of the window when Peter’s mother announces that she arranged a blind date for him. Meanwhile, the other half of the family works hard on getting Peter together with Nick. Shenanigans ensue.
It’s a Christmas romantic comedy. What do you want me to say. These things are formulaic by design.
Queer Media Monday is an action I started to talk about some important and/or interesting parts of our queer heritage, that people, especially young people who are only just beginning to discover the wealth of stories out there, should be aware of. Please feel free to join in on the fun and make your own posts about things you personally find important!

I may have been thinking about a spicy gamjane AU lately. Gamzee’s a stoner who works at a local smoke shop and Jane works at the local bakery. Let’s just say, Gamzee wants to learn how to bake and Jane wants... other things. They come to a mutual agreement. :o)

For real i don't know whats going on now either but i will give my input. you havent blamed the fandom as a whole and i appreciate it, its really not cool to see some act like the entire fandom is bad when its just a few people ive seen this before in other fandoms and now im seeing it again. people dont know how to moderate their dash or fandom experience anymore ive been in smaller fandoms with more "drama" and its quite easy to avoid it if people use the built in features staring right them. but that requires effort and theyd rather blame everyone else it makes me angry, i aint to blame and neither are you and most of the other people here
oh absolutely, “x fandom is bad and everyone in it is bad !!” is an unfortunately common sentiment to see online. i haven’t seen anything that extreme in mc/mcd so far but i’ve definitely seen it (and much worse) with other fandoms i’ve been involved in. even on sites without easily accessible filters it’s pretty easy to get the algorithm to understand what you do and don’t want to see, and it’s made especially easy on tumblr with the ability to avoid certain tags altogether. there’s always going to be things that slip through the cracks both in algorithms and filters, but it’s definitely not as hard to avoid stuff as some make it out to be
that being said, i can understand why some people would start to leave or be frustrated with the mc/mcd community - it’s a pretty small place, and i can understand why people would see being involved in it as unnecessarily stressful for the amount of content produced, especially considering that a lot of the people i’ve seen express issues with the community seem to have been involved personally with whatever issues have happened and are also some of the biggest content producers in this corner of the internet. i’m sure at some point that’s gotta start feeling like your work isn’t being appreciated a whole lot
overall just think people need to chill out a little. it’s ok to move on to other things and it’s also ok to stick around, and neither option should result in people being upset with you
