You ever get like 2k words into a post that started off as frustrated venting about the positive vs. negative framing of A Certain Movie’s analyses, only to have it veer off into a really unexpected and surprisingly detailed analysis of the Great Gatsby (which you actually haven’t read in its entirety since you were like 14), until you realize that it’s kind of a false equivalency to the point you originally wanted to make and if you post it you’d just look like an asshole trying to start wank for no reason? Because I have. 

#basically my original intent was that criticizing something #doesn't mean that you're being negative about it #and being 'positive' about something #doesn't mean you should never criticize it at all #but it delved into a right vs wrong interpretation of the great gatsby #which i'm not really even sure how i ended up there #but for that argument to hold weight it would imply there's a right and wrong interpretation of A Movie #which isn't truly what the wank is always about #it's more about whether or not it is objectively a *good* movie #and why #and how one side has significantly more evidence to support its opinion than the other #i think i need to just shut up lmao #i'm just still in a salty mood about discourse #and i think it's bothering me so much bc i know it's bound to get worse as loki and thor 4 come out #and i'm making it personal now but i honestly hate being dismissed and blocked as an entire person #and member of the fandom #the implication being that i have nothing meaningful or positive to contribute #just because i don't agree that This Movie is actually any good #when you get right down to picking it apart #and i like picking it apart bc analysis is fun to me bc i'm a fucking nerd okay #i lost my point several tags ago #do more than like 2 people actually read tags anyway? #idk #tag rambles #fandom wank #mood gif
