May I request Banri showing interest in Juza's lil sis and vice versa please~? Wouldn't that be hilarious.
anonniee thank you so much for the request!!! It was really fun writing this 😆😆 it was fun imagining the whole scenario! I hope you like it as well
Banri Settsu
It was a peaceful Saturday in the dorms when you decided to visit, Sakyo was scolding the kids and Omi was cleaning the table after everyone had their lunch
Your brother was playing a game with Itaru by the couch in the lounge when Taichi suddenly exclaimed your name upon your arrival causing your brother to pause his game and turn to look at you
“Miss your big brother that much?” He smirked but you just gave him a look of disgust and rolled your eyes at him
“Why would anybody miss someone like you?” You scoffed and proceeded to give your attention to Taichi
“Is Juza here?” Your brother noticed the sudden change in your voice, from talking so venomously to him to a sweet almost candy-like tone
As if he was waiting for his name to be called, Juza finally entered the lounge where you were ans the others at
“Juza!” You waved at the older male who seemed surprised to see you on such a day but his look of surprise soon morphed into those of happiness once he sees what you had in your hand
“The bakery we often went to together had a new menu and I thought you might want to try it with me!” You beamed
Banri watched you and Juza move towards the kitchen, his eyes not missing the way Juza smiled when he stole a glance at you when you weren’t looking at him
He wanted to puke, who knew he got to see Juza giving that kind of look...especially to his sister
HIS SISTER
The way his eyes widened as he stared after you two, he didn’t know whether he wanted to laugh at your taste or give some kind of talk to Juza who was so obviously also interested in you
Excusing himself from Itaru, he followed you and Juza to the kitchen and saw you two were sitting beside each other
He wanted to get in between but he knew you would just give him that look and make him move away
So he decided to sit in front of you two, nonchalantly pointing out that you actually went out, dressed up and even got cake just for a simple visit
You didn’t miss a beat by answering him: “Juza might like it.”
He also didn’t miss the way Juza got flustered by your little comment
Now he wasn’t sure if he was proud of you for being so upfront about your feelings or make fun of Juza who was getting so flustered from something so simple
Throughout your stay in the house, Banri would follow you and Juza around, even when you tried to shoo him away to mind his own business, even using your older sister as a threat to him
He gotta admit he got scared for a moment but he’ll deal with it once she sees her
He didn’t enjoy seeing the sight of his sister giving those lovey dovey eyes to someone-especially Juza- nor did he enjoy seeing Juza giving those looks back-especially to his sister-
But for the sake of your safety, he decided to be that annoying brother and tease you or Juza every moment he can, not really about you two but your expressions or the way you talk so sweetly to Juza or how Juza tries so hard to seem soft
“Look Juza, doesn’t this picture we took together look so cute?”
“It has Hyodo, how can it?”
“I-it does.”
“God Hyodo how fuckin’ bad are you at flirting?!”
Not gonna lie, Juza wanted to actually legit fight Banri
But for your sake he won’t
“YOU PUSSY FACE ME!!!”
But Juza just ignores him and proceeds to listen to you, his whole attention focused on the words you were saying, completely unaware of how a smile was slowly growing on his face and how lovestruck he looked as you continued to ramble on
Banri wanted to puke
By the time you were about to leave, you didn’t miss the chance to jab your brother on his stomach, glaring at him and promising him that he will most certainly hear from your dear older sister
Once you were done saying goodbye to Juza and getting out of the dorms, Banri wasted no time in pulling Juza to their room. Ready to give him the talk
But he was surprised to hear Juza speaking first -albeit more quieter- and asking him if it was okay to ask you out on a date, wanting to make sure that Banri doesn’t have any problem with you going out with him
Banri hated to admit it but at that moment he felt as though Juza was a reliable man and besides, even if he said no, Banri knew that you were going to find a way to go out with Juza
So he said yes
Of course without missing the chance to remind Juza to take care of you and telling him how difficult you can be
But Juza once again said he can handle it with that look of adoration on his face
Banri, from then on, decided that if you and Juza were to hang out in the dorm again, he would be sure to stay in Itaru’s room
Hyodo Juza
Since both your brothers and cousin were in a troupe, you decided to help them out. It became a running joke in the company how the Hyodo/Sakisaka family were slowly taking over Mankai
“Oh no it is the stack of the Hyodos!”
“What is he saying?”
“I think he means attack.”
Of course, to spite your brother, Banri started to flirt with you. It wasn’t anything serious and everything was just to mess with Juza
“You look great today, I even forgot that Hyodo over there’s your big brother.”
Juza, who was protective and always looking out for his younger family members didn’t miss the way Banri flirted with you, even going as far as talking to Banri and telling him to make sure he wasn’t playing around with you or else
But Banri ignored him and continued with his ways but somehow, for some odd reason, he found himself falling for you, someone who had Hyodo on your name and the Hyodo genes in your blood
At first he tried to stop it because how the hell did he fall for Juza’s little sister?
But still, no matter how hard he tried, his feelings won’t budge
So he decided to move according to his feelings
Instead of flirting to annoy Juza it soon to make you feel flustered, he liked seeing you all red, he never fails to point out how adorable you look all shy for him
Juza didn’t miss this, whenever he looked at you and Banri acting all close, he would feel a surge of protectiveness going through him, he didn’t know whether he should pull you away and bash Banri on the face or let you be because you look like you were having a blast
Thankfully Kumon knew exactly when to get inbetween you and Banri before anything else could happen:
“So, there’s this place I want to go with yo-”
“It’s time to go home now sis, come on!” Kumon says as he pulls you away from Banri while giving him the stinks eye
Muku was already betting on when you two were getting together but shhh he was enjoying watching the whole thing unfold
But of course, Juza might be a bit protective but your always happiness comes first
So he asked you if you had any feelings for Banri and when you responded that you indeed do, he was confused on what to do
“Hey...do you have any kind o’ feelin’s for Settsu?”
“Banri...I guess I kinda do.” You replied feeling embarrassed of admitting that to your brother but you knew him and you knew that Juza won’t do Banri any harm
He was both taken aback and torn inbetween supporting you and pulling Banri to talk to him or asking you out of everybody in the dorm why it was Banri
But it wasn’t like he didn’t trust Banri, he’s fully aware that Banri’s a good actor and knows his way with the other gender and dating but there’s still that small feeling in him that just can’t help but shield you from the possible heartbreak
So while Kumon continued to interrogate you on your way home, Juza was thinking quite deeply
Once they were back in the dorm, Juza’s eyes were instantly on Banri. Watching his every move, from when they were in rehearsals, dinner and hanging out with the others in the lounge, Juza’s eyes never left Banri
Well maybe there were times where he let his eyes rest from looking too much at Banri’s animal prints
If Banri was to be honest, he was kinda freaked out but he kinda figured out that it was going to happen since he was making moves on Juza’s little sister
Once they were in their room, Juza wasted no time on asking Banri whether he was taking you seriously or just playing around with you
For once, Banri felt quite nervous. He is talking to the older brother of the girl he’s going for
But he just answered honestly and admitted his feelings for you
That was enough for Juza to allow him
Of course, just like any older brother he told him to take care of you and never hurt you because there will be consequences
Of course Banri knows that, he lives with three of your relatives
Surprisingly, Juza’s actually very supportive of your relationship with Banri. Sometimes even giving Banri date ideas: telling him what you like and where you wanna go
He doesn’t like it when Banri scoffs at him and tells him he knows you well enough but for the sake of you having fun then he’ll endure his roommate, besides, perhaps you could be a good influence on him

spoilers for a3! act 2 and the spring/winter troupe training camp! Also, I’m going to be critical of Masumi, but I still care for my son a lot.
I was honestly very disappointed with the spring/winter event... I had really hoped we could see a new side to Masumi! When Masumi was constantly worrying over his phone, I thought he was waiting for a call from his dad, or his grandma. And when Hisoka notices, I thought it could have been a touching moment where Hisoka comforts Masumi, or bonds with him; they could have a very fun relationship! Hisoka is really laidback and has his own Family Issues tm, so he could contrast with Masumi, who’s a lot more passionate and intense, but still struggles with problems with his own family. It would have been sweet to see Hisoka step up to take care of someone younger than him, considering he’s usually more passive than everyone else. Not only that, they could relate to each other over their complicated family lives, and the fact they’ve both found family at Mankai. The fact Masumi ended up being worried over being Izumi’s first instablam like felt like a wasted opportunity, even if it was funny at first.
After all, while Mankai embodies found family, Spring Troupe especially leans into it! Sakuya, who has never had a family who cared for him, Masumi, who has a distant relationship with his parents, Tsuzuru, who was a big brother before he was allowed to be his own person, Itaru, who never had anyone who he could be himself around, Citron, who loves his family but is constantly at odds with them due to throne succession issues, and Chikage, who had lost his family and resented the lone surviving member, Hisoka, for a long time. They all feel like misfits who find a home in each other!
Masumi’s character is also the least developed out of every character, because he’s always bogged down by his obsession with Izumi. His obsession is treated as a joke, but the way he treats her makes me extremely uncomfortable. Not only that, Masumi’s relationships with other characters is hampered because he, more often than not, just acts very jealous towards their relationship with Izumi instead of getting actual development with them. I would have preferred more moments like in Act 2, where we get to see more of Masumi’s backstory, and explore his character apart from his obsession with Izumi. Masumi also loves spring troupe and mankai company, too, something I feel like is often overlooked.
My overall point is that Masumi deserves a better treatment from the narrative!

Izumi’s little sister! Reader. Pt. 4. Street act and thoughts
-
“Wait, you mean THAT'S why everyone keeps Masumi from talking to me?”
Izumi laughed awkwardly inside her coat, small clouds coming out of her mouth due to the cold. “It's fine, Y/N. He’s a good kid and most of the time it only gets a bit weird.”
“Most of the time?”
“Anyway!" Izumi clapped her hands and looked at you with a big grin. "I'm so excited you are staying tonight. We should have done this sooner!"
You raised your eyebrows. It was as clear as day she was trying to get out of the conversation. Sighing, you decided to humor her and let it aside for now. “Are you sure it’s fine though? You said the winter troupe was rehearsing for the upcoming perf-”
“Of course it’s fine! Everyone was delighted when I told them you were coming,” she insisted as you both crossed the Veludo district. “Besides, thanks to you we’ll even get to have curry sooner than I counted for!" as she lifted some bags, you couldn’t help but laugh at her expression.
“You look more excited about the spices and ingredients I brought than me staying over, you know”
“Hey! Not true" Izumi pushed you lightly with her hips, making stumble and giggle. You had been sceptic, but it felt nice having some sibling quality-time with your sister again.
A few minutes later, you two finally arrived at the dorm’s entrance. Izumi took out the key to enter when someone slammed the door so loud you even let out a shrill screech.
“Yes! Yes, I am deeply sorry!” you blinked with a mixture of worry and wonder at the manager of Mankai talking on the phone feeling a deja vu. How could someone bow so fast while moving around? “Of course! Yes, I'm already on my way!"
“Matsukawa-san?!” Izumi called out worriedly, but he was already out of her reach. The man did seem to hear her though, turning slightly but not stopping.
“Everything’s fine, director! Please don’t worry, I’ll make sure…!”
Neither of you got to hear the end of the sentence, the silhouette of the man getting smaller and smaller. You saw your sister looking at the distance with a tired expression “You don’t look surprised”
Izumi shook her head at your comment, pulling the door knock and allowing you to enter “If I had to question everything that happens around here I... Anyway, let's-“
“Here comes the tour guide! Here comes so don’t move another step!”
She pressed the bridge of her nose.
                                      -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
“Ah, welcome back you two,” you heard Omi’s voice coming from the kitchen as Izumi opened the lounge door with you behind. “You arrived just in time. I’m finishing some scones.”
“Omi-kun, did Matsukawa-san say…”
“Y/N-pi!” Kazunari’s voice vibrated from the living room’s couches. “Come here, we missed you! I’m sure you’re looking as bomb as always though!”
“Took you long enough, Wild Currian Performer.”
Tenma turned to you as well to talk but stopped halfway. “What the hell.”
Looking up, you were thinking the same. Kamekichi had yet to move from your head “Uh, thank you for… bringing me inside.”
The bird flapped its wings vigorously. “Of course, took you long enough! I am the tour guide!” after that, he took fly and left.
You stared at the hallway visibly confused. What was up with this dorm.
“Wait, was he waiting at the entrance all this time?” a blond man with a phone frowned from the couch. “No wonder I couldn’t find him to bring me- shit, advertisements,” he groaned, glancing at you and then turning his attention back to the screen. “Anyway, nice to meet you in person, Y/N-san. Although Citron and Sakuya talk so much about you I feel like I was there the first time.”
“Uh… thanks?”
As if summoned, the spring leader popped his head into the room “I heard the door, did- Y/N-san! Welcome back, I’m so happy you could come to visit us again!”
You smiled at the boy.
“Okay everyone, help yourselves, there’s more if you want.” Omi walked towards the table and left the plate of scones in the middle, allowing everyone to grab a piece.
You took one, humming delightedly at the sweet flavor. The autumn member chuckled “Would you like anything special for tonight’s dinner, Y/N?”
“Ah, we already covered that, Omi-kun! Y/N brought spices from home, this curry will feel so nostalgic!”
All the actors in the room flinched.
“I see…”
“F in the chat. Why am I not surprised” Itaru mused to himself.
“I-I am sure it’s really good…!”
“You two really are family uh…no, wait!” Tenma shook his head. “Forget about curry!”
“Hey! What’s with everyone dissing curry?” you frowned as you cleaned the rest of the crumbs from the scone, raising your eyes to everyone in the room.
“That’s not what I mean” he rubbed his forehead. You and director were too alike. At your confused stare, he pointed at you indignant “You owe me a street act, remember?”
“Ah, that!” taking another scone and biting it, you nodded. You hadn’t really done street acts before, but you would lie if you said you weren’t interested. “Sure, if you still want?”
“You bet I do.”
He had heard Taichi and Juza commenting on your acting during that autumn rehearsal too- there was no way he would pass the opportunity to test it himself.
“U-um!” Sakuya stood up, his eyes shining “If you are going out to do a street act, I’d like to join too!”
You tilted your head at the boy, curious why he seemed so eager. Didn’t they usually do acts outside?
“All right then, let’s do this.”
Tenma smirked walking towards the door, looking somewhat excited too. Well, they wouldn’t be living in a theatre dorm if they didn’t enjoy acting after all, you concluded shrugging it off.
“GG guys.”
“Tenten, do your best!”
“Yeah, try not to embarrass yourself, hack.”
“What does that mean?!”
                                        -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
By the time you all three walked out of the dorm, jackets and everything on, the sun had started to set up. You shivered. Maybe you should have brought more clothes.
“Was the winter troupe in rehearsals?” you turned to the troupe leaders walking alongside you “Izumi told me they are doing a mystery play of some kind.”
“Yeah, Hisoka-san is the lead and whenever he’s not sleeping he’s pretty good… so they’ve been going all out.”
Sakuya agreed at Tenma’s statement “I’m excited to see them perform!”
As you all continued sharing some light talk, you arrived at Veludo. Looking around, one could see winter was almost there. There weren’t many kids around, just adults and teens returning home walking faster than usual given the time and cold weather.
A bit later, you finally decided to stop on a roundabout next to a fountain to perform.
“What do you guys usually do?”
“We normally just pick a theme and go along with it!” the spring member answered smiling while Tenma stretched. “Do you have anything you’d like to do, Y/N-san?”
You looked around humming. You weren’t usually given the freedom to choose so nothing really came to mind except… “How about doing something similar to the winter troupe? There are not many people around, but maybe we can engage them.”
Sakuya might as well have started jumping.
“A winter-like street act sounds perfect! I don’t think I’ve ever done something similar to what they do. What do you think, Tenma-kun?”
“Not bad. Let’s go with mystery for our theme.”
“Wait, I know I just said that but if the point of a mystery is to solve it, shouldn’t we plan how to-”
Ignoring you, Tenma walked to the middle of the road and turned to you and Sakuya knowingly. His eyes shone with expectations.
You frowned confused still. None of you hadn’t decided anything, was he really-
“You can’t be serious!” Tenma’s tone of voice changed, cutting through the somewhat calm street like a knife. You also noticed his whole demeanour turning hostile, making people look his way. "I have better things to do than wait here to be murdered!”
Even faster than you had anticipated, Sakuya ran to him. "P-please wait, uncle Miles! I won’t move from here until I know who killed my brother. I’m sure the detective must have a reason for having us stay here!"
“Oh?”
“What’s this, a play?”
“Hey, these guys are from Mankai!”
As expected, people stopped noticing the performance.
You felt a thrill in your stomach, engines already turning inside your head. So you had indirectly gotten the part of the detective and therefore in charge of being the one to solve it uh.
Walking slowly, building anticipation, you placed yourself in front of them, blocking out the noise.
Tenma and Sakuya were awaiting, as well as the crowd surrounding you now and it was a strange feeling, if you were honest. Who knew what their next sentences would be after you spoke? You had no idea what could happen, and somehow, that made you smile. This really was a street act.
And so, you chuckled dryly but with elegance “I can assure you, gentlemen, this won't be a problem.”
She’s good. "HA!” Tenma crossed his arms, looking grim “Bet this is just another plot, typical of Marshall and his-”
“Uncle, please!”
And so, it began.
You didn’t notice how long you had this push and pull of allegories, fake names or places. At this point you were just a detective in charge of solving the death of Marshall Jones, a fraud who had been the successor of the Jones Industries.
...And that the biggest suspects were the two people in front of you; his younger brother, William Jones and their uncle, Mr Miles.
“This is stupid, I have men working for me on the government! They will turn a blind eye if I command it I-!”
“Just tell us who did it! I need to know who killed Marshall!” Sakuya trembled anxiously.
You just nodded calmly at both of them “You are right. This has taken too long and I apologize for it.”
Tenma and Sakuya both held their breaths. Acting with you was being a mental workout to keep up, but none of them could dismiss the thrill that came with it.
“However, I feel like I shouldn’t be the only one apologizing. Isn’t that right, Marshall?”
‘What?’
Confused, Tenma followed your pointing finger towards the crowd, and Sakuya almost let a gasp when a shadow made his way towards them. The crowd whispered furiously at the sudden change of flow of the act.
‘M-Misumi-san?!’
‘Since when was he there?!’
While they stared at the summer member, Misumi didn’t look that surprised, to which you inwardly breathed in relief.
Everyone’s eyes laid on him, his attitude perfect for the act, gloomy and mysterious.
Nothing like the happy young man who had wanted to show you triangles the first time you met "I was wondering if you would call out for me at some point, detective."
"Thought I would let you enjoy yourself for a while" you shrugged, and Misumi laughed huskily at your comment.
“Thank you for taking the job.”
“Yeah, yeah. Next time just try to not hide in such a melodramatic way.”
“B-brother? Is that really you…?" Sakuya walked slowly to Misumi, almost making it look like he was about to break into a cry.
Tenma took advantage of the situation to step in. He wasn’t about lose there "Y-you were supposed to be dead! I made sure of-!" he stopped half-way, covering his mouth. "Shit."
“Turns out you should have stayed in the room to check the works of the poison, Mr. Miles.” you made it look like you pulled two sets of handcuffs “As tender as this familiar reunion after death might be, I'm afraid you will have to accompany me. You are both been placed on a charge of murder… and inflicted fraud.”
And scene.
A few seconds passed and you swallowed. Had this been too much?
As soon as the first stupor faded, the now quite big surrounding crowd erupted in applause.
“T-that was amazing!”
“Wait, what?!”
“Didn't think another actor would be hiding!”
“That was Mankai, right? Wanna check their next performance?”
After thanking the audience, you hurried to the boy with a triangular earring, embarrassment running through you, noticing now what you had done. “I-I’m sorry for pulling you in! My body moved on its own and when I saw you…”
Tenma just scoffed, but you could tell he was proud. “Yeah, well- if there’s someone who shouldn’t have any problem with what you just did, it’s him.”
“It really was great!” Sakuya approached you both. “I almost broke character for a second there. Where you watching the whole time, Misumi-san?”
“Not really! I was looking for triangles and then I heard Tenma’s voice… and when I got closer I saw you guys acting!”
“Still, sorry for...”
“Mhm! It’s okay, it’s okay!” suddenly, Misumi started patting your head. “Good job, detective Y/N.”
You felt a blush rush to your cheeks at the touch and so you stepped back, laughing embarrassed. “I-I was also surprised how good everyone is! I mean of course you are, you guys are real actors but-”
"Let’s do another one."
“Uh?” you squeezed your eyes at Tenma. Maybe you hadn’t heard correctly. “But we just-“
“We have time. Misumi, you stay too."
“Okayyyy!”
Turning back to Sakuya the boy laughed nervously, but didn’t look surprised.
Ah, you were so screwed.
                                     -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
The streetlights started lighting up when you made a decision to finally head back to the dorm.
“That was great!” Sakuya was moving as if he had received a burst of energy “It’s so much fun acting with people outside Mankai, isn’t it!”
“Everyone’s applauses were really suuuper loud too!”
“…and you say you only go sometimes to your theatre club?" Tenma saw you nod and shoved his hands into the pockets of his winter coat, groaning. "Just what's up with people like you and Misumi?"
"Hmh? Y/N and I are similar? Yaaaayy!"
"Misumi? it didn't sound like a compliment to me."
Sakuya laughed at the exchange. It truly had been an amazing experience. "Did you do theatre with director when you two were younger?"
You hummed, thinking about it. To be honest, theatre had always been around but you hadn’t really... When was it that you started acting again?
A scream stopped your train of thought.
"M-Misumi-san?!"
“You scared the daylights out of me, Misumi!"
Turning to the young man, you noticed him making a triangle with his hands and, while using it as a telescope, suddenly speeding up the pace. "It's a triangular cloud!"
"Misumi-san, please don't follow the cloud, we’ll be late for dinner!"
"Tri-triangle, tri-tri-triangle…!"
"Oi Misumi, quit singing and stop! I know you can hear us!"
Watching the interaction, you couldn't help but laugh, running after them.
They were a weird bunch… but in an endearing kind of way.
                                              -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-
“Oh? If it isn’t our cute Y/N” Azuma smiled softly as you all walked in.
“Did you guys go do street acts?” Tasuku lifted his head from the script in his hands. Sakuya nodded eagerly at the older actor, explaining the performances and the audience reaction.
Tsumugi laughed after the spring leader finished. “Seems like you all enjoyed yourselves out there.”
“Ah, youth! If only time would let us stop our bodies to enjoy the real pass of time of our souls!”
“Arisu… you’re annoying...”
“Okay everyone, let’s call the rest and start plating everything, okay?
You spent the rest of the night with the majority of the dorm.
You had a banter with Masumi about not giving your blessing, being cut by Citron’s weird proverbs and him being at the same time stopped by Tsuzuru. You laughed at Banri’s and Juza’s not so passive aggressive comments, heard some more stories about everyone and of course, you talked about acting and performances.
You shook your head amused. They really were acting addicts.
By the end of dinner, you excused yourself to go to the bathroom.
Closing your eyes, you splashed water in your face, deep in thought. “Living in this dorm must be amazing though…”
They all seemed to work so hard on any act they did… that it confused you. Izumi had always been insistent about you doing theatre and, while you appreciated it, you never took it seriously.
You enjoyed it, sure, but was it maybe because it came naturally to you? …What if you chose to act for real and then didn’t feel the same way after seeing the bad aspects of it?
Your mother was another matter too. She had made it clear she wouldn’t say anything, but you could tell it didn’t… exactly enthusiasm her. She barely mentioned Izumi’s work at home.
However, acting with everyone in Mankai had been fun. Every time.
Even you were surprised. Just how many street acts had you done after the first one today? You hadn’t practiced that much improv in a long time, not even in your theatre club.
It wasn't as of you didn't enjoy your own theatre activities, but surely there had to be a reason why you found yourself so awestruck by everyone here.
Or maybe not. Your mind was a mess. Closing the bathroom door, you sighed before noticing a figure walking towards you.
“Hey, I got the money ”
Without skipping a beat, you ‘tch’ed at Tenma. “First you’ll have to show me the body.”
“I have to see the money,” he pointed at you with his chin.
“First the body… or yours.” A few seconds passed and you both finally sneered. Tenma sighed, shaking his head.
“Thought I could get past you, dammit. You really should consider acting.”
Bullseye.
“Actually- Tenma, I was thinking” you faltered. “Um, did you… always want to be an actor?”
“Well- I was pretty much always in the industry since I was young, so yeah, I’d say so?”
“You never thought it could have been your parent… you know, telling you how you had talent what might have made you start acting?”
The summer leader thought about it, looking at the ceiling. However, he soon shrugged “If so, what?” noticing your confusion, he kept talking. “I mean, I guess they did have some influence… but in the end it was me who decided to stay. For me, not for them.”
You nodded. That made sense.
“Why the question?”
“Ah, nothing it’s just- I think Izumi tends to overreact saying I am like dad, you know, with acting and all. I didn’t think much about it until these acts made me feel…”
“Fulfilled?” The summer leader finished for you. Seeing he was right by looking at your face, he shrugged again in response. “I don’t know Yukio-san to say you are a copy of him, but yeah, you are good. Still though, you should do what you want above everything else.”
You nodded again.
You both headed back to the living room as a heated karaoke discussion between Citron and Banri while a few others tried to act as mediators.
Izumi turned to you and smiled “Everything okay?”
You faced her. The thoughts about acting and theatre could wait. As Tenma said, you didn’t have to rush and for now. You decided to let it aside and enjoy the warm feeling of being reunited with your sister and her weird, but lovable group of actors.
You took her hand and squeezed it. “Yup!”

A3! Translation: Spring Troupe’s Interview From Documentary Book’s “Moment of Spring”

Translation under the cut.
First of all, while looking at the photos on the cover, please tell us what happened on the day you took them.
Sakuya: It was a frame of the Spring Troupe's spring!
Chikage: I wonder if Sakuya was holding Hina dolls in his photo.
Citron: Oh, I know that! Isn't that the thing that was born while chirping after you kept it warm for three days and three nights?
Tsuzuru: It's not that "Hina."
Itaru: It's a different Hina.
Masumi: ...These ugly Hina dolls are put in the theater lobby.
Sakuya: Wow, Masumi-kun! You sure have a sharp eye.
Masumi: It’s because Director and I helped decorate them there.
Sakuya: Oh, I see. To tell you the truth, it was all due to Manager saying that the theater lobby felt kind of empty. And given that it's March, we decided to decorate the lobby with Hina Festival-themed items.
Tsuzuru: Not to mention that a lot of the audience members are girls.
Chikage: The Masumi in this photo… Was he about to give a present to Director?
Itaru: That expression is exclusive for Director only. He's so easy to read.
Tsuzuru: If I remember correctly, this was taken during White Day. I remember seeing him grinning ear to ear while staring at the present in our room.
Masumi: I was imagining Director's reaction after I gave her that present. I was sure she'd be surprised but at the same time so happy she couldn't stop laughing… Then, she'd blissfully say, "Thank you. I'll treasure it."
Itaru: Surprised but so happy she couldn't stop laughing?
Citron: Now I'm curious about what your present is!
Sakuya: So was she happy about the present?
Masumi: Not telling. It was a memory that only me and Director share.
Citron: Aw, Masumi is a cheapskate~.
Sakuya: Meanwhile… things seemed to be lively in Tsuzuru-kun's photo!
Tsuzuru: My brothers started fighting when I was making sakura mochi for our cherry blossom viewing. I know I should've just left them be since they're always fighting, but… I couldn't help but speak out.
Chikage: You're truly a natural born big brother, handling this kind of thing by reflexes.
Citron: Is that a carnation you were holding, Itaru?
Masumi: For mother's day?
Itaru: Yep. I was planning to buy flowers and stop by my home. My sister apparently predicted this and asked me to buy her sweets. I was talking to her in the photo. They're all very popular stores that can have people waiting in line. But well, they have pretty tolerable prices…
Masumi: Looking at your expression, you should have found some excuses to refuse her.
Itaru: You could say that because you don't how my sister is when she's mad…
Citron: I want to meet Itaru's rumored sister one day!
Masumi: ...Citron's pose looked weird in this one.
Sakuya: Whoa, the bamboo shoots are big!
Citron: I call it, "ever-growing bamboo shoots" pose~. The greengrocer uncle from the shopping district gave those fine bamboo shoots to me!
Tsuzuru: You really are the idol of the shopping district… As long as Citron-san is here, looks like we don't need to worry about hunger issue. It's already been taken care of without us knowing.
Itaru: Last one is senpai… Huh? Is it really okay to have your photo like this? You were in the middle of doing some dangerous side jobs in this one, right?
Chikage: What do you take me for? As you can see, I was making a helmet with origami.
Masumi: I saw this helmet in the theater lobby. It was so symmetrical and terrifyingly well-made.
Tsuzuru: It felt like that helmet brought out Chikage-san's personality.
Citron: We all were enjoying spring and taking a very blissful shot!
Sakuya: That's right! Spring is indeed such a lovely season!
Then, as we looked back at your plays up until the sixth one, please tell us an event that left the most impression on you.
Citron: It would take forever, you know! We have a loooot of memories together, though I think the turning point of Spring Troupe was during our debut and fourth play.
Tsuzuru: During our debut play, we were all still beginners in theater and were still figuring out everything. Chikage-san joined us during our fourth play and we became a six-member group… I've gotta admit we underwent a major change as a troupe that time.
Sakuya: In addition, it was during the preparation for these two plays that we slept on the stage together!
Tsuzuru: The first time we did it was because Yuzo-san roasted us so bad, so we decided to sleep onstage to understand the play better. During our fourth play, we already invited Chikage-san but since he had work to do, we couldn't do it...
Masumi: But when we headed to the theater for our morning practice, these two were sleeping. Thus, I slept too.
Itaru: We were so noisy at that time so I figured you'd wake up soon, but… you sure slept like a log, huh, senpai?
Chikage: I still woke up in the end since your snoring was too loud, though.
Itaru: Seriously?
Masumi: You do look like the type who snores loudly.
Chikage: Joking aside… back then, I was surprised when I woke up and found you all there.
Citron: Oh, so our prank was a big success in the end! I wanna throw another slumber party with you all~.
Sakuya: Me too! I want to chat about a lot of things with you all!
Masumi: About love?
Itaru: I have a feeling Masumi's gonna monopolize that talk.
Tsuzuru: Heck yeah…
Chikage: That sounds fun. Why not?
Now that all of you have experienced becoming the leading actors, please tell us what kind of roles or performance you want to have.
Chikage: Since we have Tsuzuru here, it wouldn't hurt to say whatever we want, right?
Tsuzuru: You have a point, and it can also be a motivation to act. For the time being, I'd like to hear what you want to do...
Citron: In that case, I wanna appear in a Japanese style play!
Itaru: ...Ah, in that case, don't you think adding fantasy element to the play will be cool? Like a youkai-themed play.
Tsuzuru: Some amazing suggestions came right at the very beginning… But well, given that we rarely deliver a Japanese style play, I think it may turn good.
Masumi: Then, I want to take on a knight role. Obviously, the one playing the princess will be--.
Tsuzuru: Since we already have KniRoun that had similar sense, I don't think we'll do that now.
Masumi: If so--.
Tsuzuru: Not a bridegroom role. If we're going to do a play set at a wedding hall, then we'll also have one of Spring Troupe members crossdress to play the bride.
Chikage: Tsuzuru crossdressing, huh… That's kind of new.
Sakuya: It may fit him, surprisingly.
Tsuzuru: Why me!? I'm banning you all from raising random flags!
Citron: Do you have any roles you want to play, Chikage?
Chikage: A role I want to play, huh… Since I've only performed three plays at the moment, there's nothing in particular.
Itaru: How about taking a non-glasses character once more? All of your characters are wearing glasses except Gawain.
Masumi: Playing a glasses character once per two plays?
Sakuya: But I feel like Chikage-san can pull of any kind of characters!
Tsuzuru: Well, yeah. Since you're good at stage combat… I think giving you another role with lots of action will be a great idea.
Chikage: Exercising is one of my fortes, so I'll do my best if you give me one. How about you, Sakuya?
Sakuya: ...It's not really a role, but I want to deliver a play with everyone in the theater troupe someday!
Itaru: That means the main cast will consist of 24 people.
Citron: Oh, it sounds very fun! I want to do it too!
Masumi: I support that idea. That way, we'll have less lines. Tsuzuru will probably die, though.
Itaru: That'll be Tsuzuru's posthumous work…
Tsuzuru: Please stop saying things that will bring bad luck like that! I do admit I feel like the Sanzu River comes into view, though! ...But well, I want to do that too one day. I have a feeling I can write a piece that I've never written until this day.
Sakuya: Whoa… I'm already looking forward to see what kind of characters and story that you'll come up with!
Chikage: So can I expect this piece to be your masterpiece?
Itaru: This'll be a piece that continues to be handed down in Japan's theater industry.
Citron: Non, non! It'll be a piece that easily sweeps the top categories at International Theater Awards.
Tsuzuru: H-Hey, I haven't even started writing it! Please stop raising the bar!
I'd also like to ask about your personal stories. Given that this book is dedicated to "Moments of Spring Troupe", can you tell us what kind of thing that is currently popular within your troupe?
Itaru: If I have to choose, I think it's Zahra's board game--the one that Prince Tangerine gave us as a souvenir during the sixth play.
Masumi: The game requires each of us to cultivate the uninhabited islands in Zahra, develop it and do some tradings.
Sakuya: The player with the most territories will be declared the winner at the end of the game! The game is so interesting that it has become our daily routine to play it once we're done with rehearsals!
Citron: I'm glad that everyone is enjoying the game! I also have a game that I'd like to recommend to you all, you see! I'll have Guy get it next time!
Chikage: Last time I checked there's also a game in which you become a spices merchant and get rich, right? I'm a little bit curious about that one.
Tsuzuru: No, I don't think the Zahra Kingdom has that kind of ga--.
Citron: I expected no less from Chikage! You even know that game! OK, I'll have them send that too!
Itaru: Wow, it does exist…
Last but not least, please send a message to the fans who are always supporting Spring Troupe.
Sakuya: On behalf of Spring Troupe… I'd like to thank you all for always supporting us! Before we knew it, we already held six plays. It was all thanks to your support that we were able to deliver this number of plays. Even if it's only one, we'll be happy if you have scenes or lines from our plays that are unforgettable to you. For our next play, we promise to give everything we can to deliver a beautiful performance to you all. Therefore--
Spring Troupe: Thank you for your continuous support!

Could I ask you?
A little bit of Omi content, with him confessing to Micaiah!
Omi at times felt like he was a silent observer, watching from the sidelines as the louder members of the troupe talked about. He had no complaints, it felt nice to be a big brother to the Autumn Troupe and help them grow, it put a warm feeling in his chest.
But there were moments where all he wanted was to speak out, act upon what he wanted. He had so much trouble doing that, allowing himself some crumb of happiness. Even after everything, it was hard to let himself be him, let himself love again.
It felt like that every time he saw Micaiah, when he saw Azuma flirt with him or Itaru wrap his hands around his with the claim it was to help teach the controls of a game. He couldn’t deny the jealousy bubbling up in his chest, it wouldn’t be fair to either of them if he did.
Moments he had Micaiah to himself were scarce, with a troupe of 25 members and Izumi and Matsukawa and all the others in Mankai to count. It made the moments bittersweet, made this moment bittersweet.
Now he watched Micaiah mix together some of the ingredients of the dessert for today, standing up on his toes to fully see into the bowl as he beat together the butter and cheese to form a fluffy start for the cookie dough. But Omi wasn’t paying much attention to the sweets as he was Micaiah, noting the way he stood up on his toes to properly peer over the bowl and how his tongue peaked out of the corner of his mouth as he concentrated.
The rest of his body ran like a machine as he mixed together the dry ingredients, sifting them smooth, mind not focusing on it, more so transfixed on the person of his affections. If anyone else were here, surely they would have caught him looking at Micaiah with such tender eyes and knew exactly what he felt. Lucky for him, it was just the two of them, and Micaiah was horribly dense.
Omi snapped into attention when Micaiah chose to turn to him. “Are the dry ingredients ready, Omi?”
He glanced down at the bowl to see everything sifted together in the bowl beneath the sifter, no mess. He felt grateful that he could work so efficiently, even with his mind elsewhere.
“Yup, here you go,” he passed Micaiah the dry ingredients. “Are you sure you don’t want me to mix it? Or get you a stool or something to stand on?”
A playful huff was let out in return. “I’m fine, I can use the spatula for this so it’s not as hard as balancing the mixer like before.”
He dumped the dry into the wet before grabbing the spatula, face back to concentration. Omi’s eyes were once again glued to Micaiah as they worked, his body maneuvering around them to wash the dirty dishes. The two of them worked so well together, like they’d been doing this forever. He wished they could do this forever.
He aided in cutting out the cookies and putting them to rest in the fridge, now watching Micaiah dry the dishes as the two talked.
“You know, if there’s anything on your mind you can talk to me, right?” It was a sudden question from him that had Omi raising his brows.
“Of course. Why?”
“You’ve been a bit out of it today. I noticed when I was mixing everything together. Is something up?”
Ah. Maybe they weren’t as dense as everyone thought. Omi looked over the pony wall out to the kitchen table in contemplation. It was now or never, wasn’t it?
“Could I ask you to fall in love with me?” The words slipped out faster than he could process, igniting his face in a bright blush.
He couldn’t look at Micaiah, the stone that had thrown itself into his gut when he said those words wouldn’t allow him to. Yet still, he risked a glance, just a small glance to see.
Micaiah’s expression was lovely. His eyes were wide and face flushed from the question, Omi had discovered that his blushes were rarely subtle, often turning red quite quickly. His mouth seemed to try to form words that he couldn’t quite push out. On the realization of this he let out a huff, blowing up his bangs, before trying again.
“You don’t have to ask, I already have.” His voice was quiet, but much more steady than Omi’s when he replied.
“O-oh.” Oh indeed.
“Does that mean you like me back?”
Omi nodded, hands reaching to grasp his, his hands moving to entwine their fingers. “I have, I mean I do. Heh, I love you.”
A gentle grin broke across Micaiah’s face. “I love you too, Omi.”
He leaned down to his boyfriend, waiting for them to close the gap for a kiss if they so pleased. And Micaiah was very pleased to kiss Omi, a sweet and gentle thing.
“Oh, so Ma and the Librarian are finally together now?” A voice startled the two away from each other, faces flushing now in surprise.
It was Yuki, of course, with Muku behind him, who immediately started muttering something about how he saw this in a shojo manga. Omi could only give Micaiah a sheepish grin.
“Yeah, we are together.” He answered, a smile on his lips.

A3 Character Analysis: Citron
the popular response, I will be doing a character analysis based on Citron as part of my character analysis series before the next. I would like to start by saying that this probably will not be as long as Sakuya’s but I definitely have some opinions. Also there absolutely be spoilers for Act 2 before anyone comes to complain lol.
Let’s start with Citron’s Japanese. It’s played off as an ongoing joke (and I personally don’t like it). Japanese is not an easy language to learn by any means and even more so when Japanese is in a whole other language family. (Time for me to bring out some human geography from my sophomore year of high school, a.k.a. back in like 2011). Now based on what general information we know about Zahara, I’m placing it somewhere between the Indian subcontinent and the Arabian peninsula. This means that Citron’s first language is either related to Arabic making it an Afro-Asiatic language or potentially an Indo-European one depending on where exactly Zahara is. Japanese on the other hand is a Sino-Tibetan langauge so honestly no surprise here that Citron struggles with speaking the language. (rest of the post under the cut)
Continuing on this vein of Citron and language, you can’t convince me that he doesn’t know multiple languages. (In fact, it might even be mentioned on his wiki entry but I’m too lazy to check.) As the former crown prince, he was no doubt learning multiple languages as part of his education. Basically, I believe Citron has reached a pretty good understanding of speaking Japanese and his word mix ups are due to two thing. One, he enjoys the comedy duo he has going with Tsuzuru, and two, some of it is genuine and he doesn’t mind messing up because Manakai, and especially Harugumi is a safe place for him to not need to be perfect.
This actually leads to how much pressure Citron must have been under as crown prince and what Mankai must mean to him. Citron grew up with every move of his being watched and needing to be careful not to get seriously hurt. The atmosphere around him must have been so oppressive that being at Mankai must have been the first breath of fresh air Citron ever experienced. Mankai had no expectations of him the way being a prince does and it must have been a relief.
Citron is so so empathetic. If you look carefully at his interactions, especially with fellow Harugumi members, the way he speaks and interacts with each one individually, you’ll see that he speaks to them the way they need at the moment. Over all, he actually chooses his words very carefully and even his mix ups feel intentional as the story progresses.
It’s not as obvious but Citron is most definitely an older brother. Why do I say so? Just look at his interactions with Sakuya and Muku especially. Citron tells Sakuya bed time stories which is such a big brother move. With Muku, no matter how much being a prince makes Citron uncomfortable, he supports Muku’s dream of being a prince and that’s very sweet of him.
Last thing I want to touch on, Citron is probably got as much knowledge as Itaru when it comes to certain games. Just look at how he was able to recognize the game Itaru was playing within 10 seconds pretty much. I honestly want to see Citron and Itaru going head to head in a game like Super Smash Bros (maybe I’m going to have to write it myself along with room 101 interactions).

hi! i really like your work, your sakuya oneshot made me emotional ;w; may i request headcanons for sakuya with an s/o who likes to make things for him? stuff like... knitting sweaters, making friendship bracelets, etc? i think he deserves to get spoiled !
aaaAAAAAAA thank you so much!!! i hope you’re feeling calm n collected now~ hopefully, it didn’t overwhelm you too much! but THANK YOU FOR REQUESTING THIS !!!!! sakuma sakuya is my favorite boy ever so writing for him makes me soft 🥺 best boy deserves to get spoiled ugh your galaxy brain i love it!!! ♡
summary: sakuya had everything planned and figured out, but everything still went wrong...
author’s note: today is the LOVE TRAIN!!! choo choo!! i love ~ love ~ so this was super fun even if it’s outside of my comfort zone for so much fluff! this definitely got off the rails at the beginning, but i swear your prompt is fulfilled half way through! i just love LOVE!!! i love sakuya!!!!! i love ♡ LOVE ♡ that’s it
word count: 2,716
music: some – soyou & junggigo, say so – doja cat (to me, sakuya is the embodiment of the jpn 80s city pop vibe)
spoiled!
🌸🌷 sakuma sakuya
sakuya started from nothing and worked hard for everything that was his, never giving up and always persevered against all odds
so it wasn’t a big surprise when the moment sakuya realized you were the person he thought of when reciting his romantic lines, he made it clear he liked you
(luckily, masumi had quick reflexes and caught the script before it fell into the river. sakuya was too busy having the most lovestruck, dreamy smile as he started off into the horizon, saying, “i like them. i really like them.”)
(“about time, you big sap.” masumi handed the packet back, but he looked just as content to see his best friend come to the realization. if only director felt the same way... sigh)
sakuya started being more direct in the most sakuya way possible, initiating planned dates that he just called “hang–outs”
(yeah, they were all definitely dates)
it wasn’t until sakuya asked you to come over at a very specific time to the dorms that you felt like something was going
you wouldn’t find out why until it was operation: ask you out, you got this sakuya! (abbreviated to go sakuya!!! on the labelled binder he had)
he finally asked you out when his heart told him the timing was perfect! sakuya had every tiny detail planned and laid out, presenting it at the very urgent scheduled meeting to his spring troupe members
sakuya was a true leader, he had prevented anything from going wrong and took extreme measures to make sure tonight was perfect
so when you confirmed you would come over soon, sakuya felt his nerves kick in as he launched himself into the living room, ordering everyone to get out (but very politely)
“hi, um. guys? could you leave? for the night?” sakuya shyly requested (he was so impatient though, he wanted to tell you he liked you already! it had to be the best for you!)
confused, everyone halted their afternoon activities as tsuzuru’s big brother instincts made him take over and explain the dilemma at hand, although, not well
(everyone got even more confused, what the hell was tsuzuru talking about? something about the perfect violin music? the 90s disney movie ambience? taking every comforter in the residence for a fort?)
itaru sighed, stepping up to the plate. he wasn’t taking time out of his video game time for nothing
“in other words, sakuya needs to ask someone out before he explodes from his lovey–dovey feelings. he needs the room for his date.”
(citron burst into tears, dramatically sinking to the floor as sakuya hurried over with hugs, genuinely worried for his friend. “sakuya~ you are growing up so fast! you are such a good boy!!!”)
even though he didn’t want to ask for help, the whole company automatically ignored him and went to go assist him in decorating
with a couple of funny comments here and there about why he was going out more and his literal heart eyes
(“oh look at sakusaku in love~” azuma pulled on sakuya’s cheek, everyone gushing over sakuya’s blush and his bright eyes as he thought about you. he was so passionate about you, just like acting!)
but the jokes were reserved for another time because their leader needed their help. it was time to repay back the favors sakuya always did for them, he did deserve a night of just romance!
he deserved the world for being such a good person
the main lights were turned off. twinkling fairy lights were pinned up to the top of the walls. red tablecloth was put over the main table. food was placed on a silver platter sakyo only reserved for very special occassions. proper plating was set up with every type of utensil possible (even a salad fork, there was no salad). the projector was set up behind the sofa. a comfy, elaborate pillow and blanket fort took over the whole sitting area. rose petals decorated the entryway and aromatic candles filled the room with love. tonight was going to be perfect
spring troupe raided the costumes department to quickly make waiter–styled outfits for the night (banri wasn’t allowed to help the moment he held something animal print up). sakuya let taichi clip on his bowtie and yuki check the measurements of his new formal wear. running by, homare dropped a fresh rose into a vase in the middle of the dining table before going into a verse about young love. omi finished up the delicious spaghetti, due to muku giggling about lady & the tramp and sharing a noodle. everyone put in the effort to get the volunteers ready for the biggest act of sakuya’s life
“everyone, three cheers for sakuya and his potential partner tonight!” tsuzuru led the group chant as sakuya stared at himself in the mirror, grinning as he willed himself to take a deep breath. he had this in the bag, tonight was going to be perfect
as sakuya stood in the corridor after the preparations, it felt like he was backstage before a major performance. the butterflies in his stomach were going crazy, he was so excited to see you
food? check! music? check! decorations? check! perfect outfit? check! everyone ready for their cues? check! flowers? che—wait...
before sakuya could have a minor, tiny meltdown over forgetting a very essential part of his plan, tsumugi ran back inside covered in dirt as he gracefully passed a sweet boquet with a light pink ribbon tied around the stems. it was so thoughtful, sakuya almost teared up right then and there
“this one means confessing a crush,” tsumugi said, pointing to the abundance of daisies before taking his leave, whispering good luck on the way out. tasuku waved, sporting a thumbs up
juza held hisoka up with a serious, but supportive nod. tenma winked, enough said
sakuya smiled, he had such good friends!
the common room in the dorms was evacuated as the other spring troupe members were hiding in the kitchen, acting as servers to the very exclusive mankai restaraunt. the clock struck 8pm as kamekichi flew by, closing the curtains in the process just like they discussed
sakuya heard a knock on the front door. that was his cue; sakuya moved to stand by the classy table as he heard itaru’s business voice greet you professionaly. he almost giggled at the confusion in your voice before itaru led you to the kitchen, a shocked look on your face as sakuya pulled your chair out
“you look beautiful.” sakuya honestly admitted, feeling his cheeks flush when you looked away with a smile. sakuya pushed your chair in as he went back to the other side, gently taking your hand as he tapped on the table three times. at the sign, he heard masumi start playing his classical violin in the background
phase 1: get you to sit down (check!)
“thank you, i don’t know what to say!” you stammered, looking around at the transformed scenery as tsuzuru walked in, bowing at you two before placing two menus down. there was really only one thing on the menu, but it was in some fancy cursive font so it was acceptable
“would you like to get started? or should i give you a few minutes?” tsuzuru questioned, having his notepad at ready with a black pen as he followed the script without problems. sakuya watched as you stared at the menu, unaware of what to do next
improv time! sakuya immediately ordered two servings of spaghetti, knowing it was the only thing he had planned with two cups of water (tsuzuru almost broke character when he almost reached a hand out to ruffle sakuya’s hair, pretending to stretch instead)
“certainly, sir. enjoy your time at mankai!” tsuzuru took his leave, going to wait his specific allocated time of 5 minutes before coming back. you looked at sakuya, his face starng back into yours with a fond smile
“thank you for coming—” sakuya started but was cut off by a very loud scream. a very citron–sounding scream. following the shriek, the sound effect of glass smashing on the floor and the wet slap of noodles was very clear. the violin cut off with an awful note, making you wince as you pulled your hand back
phase 2: eat spaghetti (oh, crap)
silence. then—
“OH MY GOD, CITRON!” tsuzuru yelled, shuffling open the script sakuya handed out. citron began apologizing profusely, not realizing you and sakuya were sitting in disbelief and uncertain about what was going to happen next
“ah, this was not GJ... press f in the chat.” itaru commented monotonously, offering a very sarcastic clap. “shut up!” masumi tried to salvage the situation, but the damage was already done
it wasn’t until you heard a muffled sigh that the boys stopped fighting. sakuya tried hiding his face as he sunk lower in his seat, holding his head in his hands
“i’m... i’m so sorry!” sakuya apologized, trying to form a coherent sentence without his voice cracking from embarrassment. the spring boys felt awful, quickly trying to clean up the mess and turn this date around the right way
but you smiled, standing up to put your hand on his shoulder as he tensed. were you going to leave? this had to be the worst date ever! you were too nice, you were trying to spare his feelings—how embarrassing!
“saku, it’s okay.” you comforted, bending down to look him in the eye. sakuya nodded, wiping his nose as he blinked away his frustrated tears. i must look so immature, sakuya pouted, trying to appear as calm as possible. but inside, he was screaming. how could have this happened so early on? he did everything!
“no, i wanted tonight to be perfect because i wanted to ask—” sakuya felt your hand guide his face to look at yours, your fingers gently holding onto his chin. you smiled
“will you be my boyfriend, saku?” you asked, seeing his face go blank before shooting out of his seat, almost knocking you down as he started jumping up and down
“yes, oh my god, of course!” sakuya composed himself, rubbing the back of his neck as he settled down from your laughter. sakuya instead picked you up, spinning around as he couldn’t help but laugh along with you
“oh my god, do you really like me?!” sakuya couldn’t believe his ears, you liked him even after this whole disaster of a date!
(this would be the start of the best dates ever as long as sakuya was there)
“no one has put so much effort into something for me like this before, you’re one of a kind.” you truthfully said, putting your hands on his face as he lowered you to the ground after losing the adrenaline rush
before you could connect your lips to his, you smelt a floral scent in your face and leaned back to see him panicking with a boquet of daisies
(you would soon learn sakuya was planning something very, very special for the first kiss. it didn’t go wrong, that time)
“uh... this is for you! please accept them!!!” sakuya thrusted the boquet into your hands and the rest of the night was yours to share
(sakuya kicked the spring members out, pushing them out of the door and promising to give them a huge rant later on. it wasn’t much, though, just a “i’m not angry, i’m just disappointed” speech that had no merit since he couldn’t stop smiling)
after that, you accepted sakuya and all of life’s mishaps, disasters, and unfortunate events that seemed to follow him despite his best efforts to do everything right
even though he loved just as much to spoil you rotten by spending quality time together, you always looked forward to getting the upper hand and surprising him thoughtful gifts!
sakuya hated it when you spent money on him, always taking the gift but trailing after you like a lost puppy trying to pay you back
(the kid even tried sneaking in cash when you weren’t looking. sakuya’s acting skills were useful when he pretended like he had no idea where a random $20 came from!)
(he later got excited seeing the same lucky bill on the sidewalk during a park walk, not noticing it was the same exact one he tried giving to you)
once you realized pricey, store–bought presents weren’t the way to go and only made sakuya feel guilty, you resorted to hand–made items that had your name all over it
you loved sewing! you even stole sakuya’s worn white hoodie with “SPRING” on it, embroidering lovely cherry blossoms around the words and at the end of the sleeves
you hid your initials + S.S. on the inside of the spot right over his heart (sakuya wouldn’t find it until one day, he was about to flip it inside out for laundry and was found cradling the fabric with happy tears sitting at the base of the washer)
(he wouldn’t move and masumi had to send you a picture of what a wreck your boyfriend was — “come get him already, he doesn’t have clean clothes”)
when you gave it back to him after he accepted it was gone forever, sakuya nearly passed out from how overwhelmed he was with your kindness! he wears it even more now, running his fingers over the texture of the flowers and feeling your love in every stitch every time he thought of you
(he started doing it subconciously, it became a comforting habit for him to do now)
acting like his professional stylist, you even knitted this super cute puff–ball beanie that was pink, silver, and white
the word “BLOSSOM” across the top became your new pet name the moment he received it (your contact was now blossom *insert every pink heart emoji ever*)
(unrelated but yes you two cosplayed as blossom and brick from the powerpuff girls for halloween)
your largest gift ever was a quilt blanket of patches you sewed of memories you shared!
(even the spaghetti disaster you now laughed about later on! sakuya realized wearing all white eating tomato sauce was a very bad idea)
countless movie nights, walks in the park, picnics by his favorite river, playing cute 3ds games together, decorating for school–wide events, and visiting the aquarium for the adorable clownfish were all apart of a blanket he would definitely save first in a hypothetical fire
yet, sakuya’s favorite gift ever was always on his person: a beaded promise bracelet you made
(you even got one back, although he definitely needed your help so it wasn’t much of a surprise)
it was during a community service event where sakuya signed up to take care of the little kids running around at the library center. it was art day, so he was happily painting a blank sculpture in the colorful room surrounded by a bunch of children who were concetrated on painting the best pokémon ever
you loved sakuya’s big heart and how he always dedicated time to helping others, so you made an effort to join him in his altrustic hobbies
(couples who care for the community stay together, obviously)
it had been a week after you noticed how sakuya’s famous pink watch was off his wrist. he downplayed it, just saying it wasn’t his favorite anymore even though he wore it for years
(but citron blabbed and confessed it was broken and he had never seen sakuya so upset except on spaghetti night)
(citron shuddered. no one speaks of spaghetti night around sakuya)
so when you slipped the pink beaded bracelet with his name and a small heart around the pikachu’s ears as a crown, sakuya looked up to see what would be his favorite piece of jewelery of all time
sakuya’s work ethic never went away and he worked twice as hard to have you happy to be with him, but it was nice to take a break and be spoiled every once in a while
(more like, spoiled every day as you always had something new to give. they would all become his lucky charms and it seemed like his accident–prone fortune went away)
sakuya was glad you worked just as hard to be with him; he loves you very, very much!

Battle on the High Seas
After this & this I got to collab with the lovely @beelsbreakfast-aep to generate HCs for the Pirates v Navy fight that would result from practice of 「Captain Sky Pirates」!!!! ☆*: .。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆ It was really fun collaborating and Alice has some of the best commentary ever owo
Hope you enjoy! :D
Summer Troupe would be rehearsing a scene or two and Kaz would jokingly complain about being the only navy member, then sees Juza and calls him over for backup
It starts out following play, but then just devolves into chaos
Autumn Troupe all starts as navy because they need more physical stuffs and it’s good exercise for them
Besides they’re all freakishly good at this almost like they’ve ran after people before...
Taichi and Banri hear the commotion and join in. Banri would’ve been a pirate, but Kazu pulled him to the navy side
Omi gets hit as soon as he walks in the door, but joins in immediately because it looks fun
Sees the lack of people on the navy side once he understands what's going on and decides to join them
Sakyo gets hit and sees red so is just automatically on the chasing side
What’s scarier than an angry Sakyo ? Omi chasing you right behind
WE'VE ANGERED THE PARENTS
I WOULD RUN FOR MY LIFE
Banri’s not the one who hit Sakyo, but he saw it and laughed his ass off
Was Sakyo's first target so is now a pirate
Kazunari has no fear
It was Kaz’s shot that hit Sakyo
Kazunari now has one fear but only if Sakyo learns it was his shot
Misumi…well Misumi wanted to be navy as well, but they refused cuz they all thought they wouldn’t stand a chance if Misumi was running after them
Still ends up switching at some point
Only then is Hisoka found because Misumi spoke with the cats to track him down
Tasuku’s so glad someone else was in charge of finding him for once
Kaz + Misumi + Autumn Troupe are the ones running after the others at first, but then Kaz gets into the pirate side after being bribed by a pleading Muku with puppy eyes
Tsumugi, Azuma and Homare are most likely the least athletic of ALL Mankai and they’re reluctant to play, but finally give up when the youngsters plead with puppy eyes as well (Taichi, Sakuya, and Muku) yes, u cannot tell them no. Navy members leave them alone for a long while and they just end up hiding in Azuma’s room drinking SAKE
Newly dubbed "prisoners"
All prisoners are held in the court, watched by Kamekichi
Itaru already bribes him with snacks, so he’s corrupted by more
Takes the opportunity to up the stakes and ask for more premium items
Alcohol. he asks for alcohol. FKCKING BIRD
Sakyo almost threatening to pluck every one of his feathers when he realized the prisoners are escaping
Kamekichi claims he was sleeping
Itaru gets caught in the first minute and just hang out in the court playing on his phone (obviously)
Masumi didn’t want to play but Izumi seemed excited about it so he just joined.
Also Izumi is run after last cuz.... just cuz Everyone knows Izumi could kick their asses if she were to get serious
They let Sakyo get her though just cause, you know, drama
Juza runs after Kumon without pity and Kumon feels SO BETRAYED
“Sorry i was promised a bunch of sweets”
Tasuku's used as a distraction against Omi
Taichi ends up becoming a pirate someplace along the way and uses Tasuku as a shield
Runs towards him yelling "TASUKU HELP!!!" and Tasuku just sees him run past before he slams a door, locking him out with Omi. Tasuku doesn’t have any idea about what's going on, but he's an actor and gets really in to his role
Tasuku actually puts up a good fight and it takes several of them to just catch him
Tsuzuru as well
He opts to be a pirate since he would usually do the chasing when playing with his brothers
Sakuya keeps up a while too, his training with Tasuku pays off
Navy bribes Sakuya to be on their side and nobody realizes until it’s too late cuz HOW WOULD SAKUYA DO SUCH THING??
Catching someone and immediately apologizing KSKFKF he looks very polite
Yuki tries, but gets caught and his pride is hurt
Option of switching sides
So like if someone's caught, instead of immediately going to prison, they can offer their services to rat out the others instead, and some people use the opportunity to act as a double agent of sorts, striking deals on both sides
Citron cons everyone. Nobody’s sure what team he’s on, but he’s surprisingly good at getting away walls have citron
The water guns make another appearance
Sakoda's the secret weapons dealer smuggling in more water guns
Omi runs after Tenma and Tenma screams his lungs out
“BIG SCARY MAN”
Homare gets some fantastic expletives to add to his repertoire
Azami probably would get into it if it means taking down Sakyo
Guy gets dragged into it but has no clue what’s going on
Ends up chilling in prison with the others
Muku's one of the last one's standing. He's good at hiding and he out-ran Misumi once short-distance so is very fast
Even though Tsumugi, Azuma, and Homare aren't actively running around, they're still involved by creating little challenges for people. Win, and they'll help with bribing/distracting Kamekichi, but lose and they'll help him as guardsbird instead
They also start generating backstories and character profiles and when someone stops by, they're assigned a new persona that they now have to act out
Perhaps the reason Sakyo allows the game to go on because it's "good training of both mind and body" or some bs reasoning they manage to persuade him with
Ceasefire for dinner and the fight doesn’t resume after
But then it’s lights-out and Kazunari gets Banri as he’s coming back from the bathroom
All hell breaks loose
There are no teams and it’s a free-for-all
Not even Sakyo’s wrath dampens things for long with everyone remembering how he joined in and had fun earlier
He ends up bribing Hisoka, Misumi, and Chikage to round up everyone and get them out
Lectures about noise and neighborhood etiquette
There might be a round of summer colds that sweep the company a day or so later

Hey there! Coming for the ask game for 2, 45 and 49 please💕 Hope you're doing well too love!
Oh, wow I really wasn’t expecting to get any asks!!!! Thank you so much!
2) Favorite Troupe
I love all of the troupes, I really do. However, I really am partial to Autumn Troupe. As much as I’d loved the upbeat nature of the story when it came to Summer and Spring Troupes, I am WEAK for people with complicated or dark past lives trying to turn over a new leaf. (and the idea that those dark pasts could come back to haunt them at any time and maybe pull the troupe into danger excites me)
Actually, I’m weak for Hurt/Comfort in general, and something about the whole way the portraits were set up and treated by the game left me with so much FUEL.
Like ok, TAICHI.  I seriously love Taichi’s whole character arc, I also seriously love how protective Autumn troupe, and specifically Banri and Juza get towards him after they hear the whole story, ok.  When Beni shows up at their closing night, and Taichi tries to stand up to him, and Juza and Banri chewing him out.  That made me so happy, just SO happy.
I also love Juza, like the poor baby.  He just wants some friends dammit.  (I seriously love imagining what would happen if one of the punks who likes to target him took a cheap shot and went for Muku or Kumon instead.  Can I see Juza in berserk protect mode please?). Also, he’s just such a sweet guy, I mean this figuratively AND literally.  Give him all the pudding he wants, he deserves it.
Like the other troupes had one or two characters with traits like that, and I love them. It’s just that, as a whole, Autumn troupe really makes me happy
(like I was enamored with the idea that Citron was a runaway prince with spies after him for a while)
(Also does anyone else remember that scene that Misumi like got startled but the Director and pinned her in a hold for just a sec because I THINK ABOUT THAT A LOT)(wait a sec I remember reading that in game, I swear.  But, I just reread the whole summer episode and I literally couldn’t find it? I’m afraid I might be going insane, now. )(Does anybody else remember this happening because now I’m really curious what chapter it was?)
(also my crazy imagination running away with the idea that Tenma’s dad literally punched him, though that was before I started reading the Rookie arc for Summer.   I might still write something about them later...)
(Yeah, I really like Summer Troupe too if you can't tell...)
PLUS, their VOICES are so deep.
I love.
Every.
Single.
One.
Of their songs.
I could listen to Banri’s raspy friggin’ voice all day, and Juza’s deep voice harmonizes so well with Banri’s. I want to scream.
45) Did your favorite character/troupe change since you started the game?
Ah, well my favorite character and troupe pretty much changed as soon as I first meet a new character. At least with the first three troupes, I was always convinced that nothing could top how much I loved the previous troupe when I started a new chapter, but the game ALWAYS surprised me.
The only troupe that kinda disappointed me was Winter troupe, but that’s mostly because I’m not a huge fan of Tsumugi. Like I love him, I just feel that his character was not nearly as well developed as the other leads, in fact, I feel like Tasuku would have been a better fit for the lead of that troupe, he has a much more interesting character arc, especially when he has to confront the fact that he hurt Tsumugi and apologize to him.
I just always felt that if you took away his friendship with Tasuku, there wasn’t much to Tsumugi. His character is almost built around Takuku’s character arc and the rest of him just feels fake, I guess? Not that Tsumugi is faking it, just that the character traits they chose for him seeem like they have little to no motivation or reasoning behind them, so he doesn’t feel as real as the other leads. It would be fine if he were a side character, but not as the lead.
That’s why I’m a bit disappointed, like it would even be something if he showed more than token regret for leaving theatre for as long as he did, but he seems more upset about the fact that Tasuku is upset with him, than the fact that he quit doing what he loved for years. Like, it might be too similar to Sakyo’s arc in that respect, but I would have still been fine with it, especially because Tsumugi had his own reasons for leaving theatre, that are different enough from Sakyo's that I would have been satisfied.
Anyway, I’m getting way off topic.
My favorite character has waffled like crazy too, its just like the header of my blog says, I love them ALL.  Its a bit overwhelming because I’ve never had this experience before, like I always latch on to a character or two and tolerate the rest for most fandoms I’m in.
Like, at first, I adored Tsuzuru, like he was so friggin’ relatable, and hardworking and earnest that I loved him, I also loved how he was the big brother character.  Though, Itaru was a close second.
Then, it was Misumi.  I got seriously obsessed with Misumi for a while, he was so adorable and honest, and oblivious sometimes that I also sorta related to him, plus his voice is so adorable.  However, Tenma took over after I saw him get punched by his dad and he took over for that troupe from there.  I didn’t really appreciate Kazunari until I came back and reread his parts in the story, I missed some of the nuance of his small arc in my first read through.
THEN, Autumn troupe destroyed me.  DESTROYED ME, and I’m not even kidding. Like I literally hated Banri at first, though really, who among us didn’t at the start of all this.  I mean he was such a little shit for like the first third of the Autumn Troupe’s arc.  I was also on the fence at the beginning with Taichi, like I had like two SSR cards of him by this point so I knew who he was and he just seemed like an off-brand Kazunari to me, but that’s before I started reading so...
Anyway, but otherwise, right at the start of Autumn Troupe’s arc I had THREE FAVORITES just after auditions.  I’d really been looking forward to Sakyo joining, because he was the first SSR that I’d gotten, and immediately I remembered him from episode one and I got excited.
Also, Omi just immediately appealed to me, the very second I first saw his dumb little confused face (you know the one), I was like ‘I love this man’ and that was the end of it.  Plus, I was getting serious big bro energy from him.  Juza also immediately appealed to me as well, he was just this intense guy but he was so earnest in the beginning that I really took a liking to him right off the bat.  He just felt like a gentle giant, he looks scary but in the way he acted you could just tell that that wasn't really him.
49) Any favorite quotes/trivia?
(not sure how much of this applies as trivia, I think I’ll do my favorite quote post later tho, I just don't have time at this exact second)
I love Sakyo popping bubble wrap, just going to put that out there.
I love the idea that Itaru just uses Sakuya as his personal gatcha drawer, that's just so cute to me.
I love the idea that Tenma literally has no sense of direction.
I love the Mankai Mahjong Club, and literally everything it entails.
I love the Minagi family and I need more content with them, (thank you A3 anime).
BANRI AND TENMA GOING TO KAREOKE
(^^ I don't know why I love this but I do)
Muku and Sakyo reading Shoujou manga together.  (It’s just too cute that Sakyo gave in after Muku started berating himself for even deciding to ask, I mean seriously it melts my heart every time I think about it.)
I think that's about it.  Sorry this is so long, and my thoughts are definitely jumbled, because I should definitely be doing schoolwork right now...
BUT THANKS FOR THE ASK!  I had a lot of fun answering these, and I definately went on a few tangents there, but I hope you enjoy it.  If anybody have any follow up questions either that's cool too!

An otome lover’s guide to A3
So. A3.
Not an actual otome, but the actor management game and anime from Cybird (of Ikemen All the Things fame) has a bunch of boys. Ok, so a Lot of Boys. All the Boys, in fact. And men. Some of them are like thirty. Which is refreshing.
Tumblr media
Where do you even begin telling them apart? Here is an Attempt, based on the first season of the game.
Spring troupe: The Vanilla boys
Bright, youthful, mostly kinda normal. This troupe stands out  for its overall lack of experience and its anime protag willingness to overcome hurdles. Most resembles the main team in a sports anime.
Tumblr media
Sakuya Is baby. This boy is a golden retriever puppy that has yet to realize he's ended up in human form. Orphan street urchin with a heart of gold. He's kinda useless as an actor but he will ganba all the way until he makes it. Protect him. Mostly from himself.
Masumi A Giant Friggin Red Flag. Weirdly obsessed with MC. His personality apart from stalker syndrome is what I like to call 'the Kageyama Tobio': genius at one thing and uninterested or terrible at everything else. He is seemingly incapable of social interactions and at best uninterested in any of them apart from MC. Also really harsh on people who don't perform to his standards, which is almost everyone.
Tzuzuru The Self Sacrificing One. Look, this dude gave up most of his dreams to look after his siblings, and he literally joined you because otherwise he'd be sleeping in a cardboard box (Why are all these dudes street urchins?) Wants to be a playwright so he foregoes any semblance of sleep to finish scripts. Has the spinal cord of a jellyfish unless in Very Specific Cases. Cute when he pouts. Pouts a lot. Someone save him.
Itaru Jekyll and XxHydexX. Super cordial professional by day, game addict that will murder you for messing up his kill streak by night. He's So Friggin Pretty why is he a dick?? Doesn't really know if he's even into this theatre thing. You know he is. Of course he is. Calms down tremendously over the course of the arc, just don't, you know, get between him and his gamer score I guess.
Citron What the Foreigner. Mysterious foreign prince possibly on the run from his parents/the cops. Your theatre is a convenient hiding place for him, because obviously getting into showbiz is what you do when you want to remain anonymous. Speaks Japanese in a weird way. In fact, he sounds Exactly Like Utapri's Cecil despite having a different VA.  Quirky to a fault. Has potentially been trained as some kind of covert operative but is surprisingly cheerful about everything.
Summer Troupe: The Diva's
A group of highly talented dudes with varying degrees of social issues. Most resembles the cast of a smaller indie otome game.
Tumblr media
Tenma The Arrogant One. A child actor from tv wanting to learn stage work. Has zero social skills. He's brash, completely full of himself and extremely critical of everyone else. Needs to learn the Power of Friendship which, spoiler, he obviously does, albeit in a very tsun kindof way. Can't let them know you care, ever.
Yuki Salt Personified. This kid is friggin 14 years old and wears dresses but he will rip you to shreds with his words. Winner of the most deadpan delivery of burns. He's in middle school ffs. Really into fashion. Resident costume designer. Potentially serves as a representation on gender roles in theatre, but the whole thing is fairly lowkey. The team, bless them, just accept him for who he is, sharp tongue and all.
Muku The Soft One. Another middle schooler, this one is way less sharp with his words. Into shoujou manga. Has severe insecurities and a propensity to start sentences with 'um'. Shaking leaf, what is he doing on a friggin stage. He actually has pink hair, could he BE any more squishy. Protecc.
Misumi The Weird One. I realize several characters fit that description, but Misumi is obsessed with triangles and lives in a  liminal space between realities so I don't know what to tell you. Also he's like… spiderman. Inhuman amount of acrobatics. Another homeless street urchin (Tokyo - is it Tokyo??? - appears to have an issue, guys). Sweet dude though. Chill and positive about everything, as long as it is triangular.
Kazunari The Influencer. Resident designer and bigshot on social media. He's down with Literally Everything. Likes everyone, is cool about every instance. Unerringly positive to an unhealthy degree. Really, Really conflict averse, even. You could call him painfully insecure, but that's like most of the cast. Wearer of hats in a non-ironic way.
Autumn Troupe: The Delinquents
This troupe consists almost entirely out of (ex) violent delinquents and (ex) criminals. The tough guys, no one here is totally innocent. Most resembles the cast of a beat-em-up.
Tumblr media
Banri The Number One. Hotshot teenager who's never tasted defeat in his life. Good at anything without trying, so he never tries. Obsessed with outperforming Juza because he's like the one dude Banri can't beat at fisticuffs. Honestly kinda insufferable for most of their arc.
Juza The Lone Wolf. Cursed with a resting bitch face and an inability to perform in social settings. Considered a delinquent and constantly challenged to fights. Is actually sweet lamb, just with lots of muscles. Cripplingly low self esteem. Wants to act to be someone else. Protect at all costs.
Omi The Responsible one. Wait, that was an option?? Big brother type. Perfect son in law. A keeper. This guy is mature and he cooks and it makes me wonder what's wrong with him. There's probably a dark secret (narrator voice: there was a dark secret).
Taichi The Sunshine Child. Really into yoyo's. Like the toy, not the male subspecies. Has the hair colour and the vocal volume of a shonen jump protag. Bouncy and very loud. Feels way younger than the middle schoolers, though he's in high school.
Sakyo The Debt Collector. Actual yakuza agent. The one the theatre owes a lot of money too. Secretly really loves the performing arts, because of course he does. Massive tsun. I wasn't looking at you, baka. Should have been an accounting professor in another life. Wordy.
Winter troupe:The Drama Team.
No really, most of them have drama and angst written all over them. Only team that consists entirely out of actual adults. Angsty adults, but still. Most resemble the cast of a daytime soap opera.
Tumblr media
Tasuku The Defector. The top actor from the rival gang troupe that joined Mankai instead. Fitness buff. Pretty clear about his boundaries for right and wrong. Sweet bean, really. Has a lot of emotions about his childhood friend Tsumugi. Seems to have a lot of feelings in general. Red oni type.
Tsumugi The Subdued one. Talks like a wallflower, looks like he got his fashion choices out of a high end french magazine from the eighties. One of the boring ones. Cinnamon roll. Blue oni. Massive self esteem issues due to past trauma. Weird relationship with his childhood friend Tasuku. They'll work it out, you know they will.
Hisoka The Narcoleptic. Literally washed up and adopted by the  theatre group that found him. Weirdly good at acting. Sleeps about 80 percent of the day. Needs to be poked and cajoled with treats. Might actually be a cat. Has no recollection of his life before he was picked off the street by a desperate director.
Homare The 'Extra AF'. A poet who dresses in loud costumes and has really stupid hair. Loud, overtly confident in his bad poetry and just generally confusing to watch. A Gentleman. Flamboyant. Kinda gay coded. Hisoka's crutch and the only reason that man is able to perform like a human being.
Azuma The Flirty One. A Cuddling Professional, because this is a teen rated game and we can't put in an actual prostitute or host. Unnaturally pretty. Indeterminate age. Sensitive. At least one of these dudes has empathetic abilities, may as well be the cute one. Extremely flirty and Experienced (tm) at life.

Hey Icha I hope you'll be alright. honestly Banri has really grown on me alot so i completely understand you're frustration. dunno why people put energy into the hate so much. i mean i guess its a little funny when they make jokes but it does get annoying after awhile. it sucks since Banri had so much development in act 2. I loved the way he was mentoring Azami, and even went to fight for him when he got kidnapped. he's not the same brat he used to be. Plus hes a really good big brother figure to alot of the younger characters too. bless. I loved his interactions with yuki in that one event
Heeyy <33 thank you you’re very sweet... <3
I’m glad to hear Banri did end up growing on you!! like, i mean, i love him and i want people to see his growth but i also understand why people would still, not  care for him much  and i don’t even blame people (my post was just really bc i see too much of those posts LDKJFDF)
I really do feel like i see more posts “joking” negatively about Banri that i see positive jokes about like, characters people actually like, and at some point i’m just. where do you get this energy  😭
Banri really had a lot of development, his dynamic with Azami is really so good and it really shows how he grew. His dynamic with Yuki in Into the Night is still one of my fav scenes eVER and im just so soft about it...
there’s a lot to him i really like in term of development and imo his development also shed light to even some of his flawed behavior in the past. I remember when i was about to watch the Autumn part of the anime i was anxious because i did remember disliking Banri when i first read the Autumn chap and it’s only after he saw Juza’s portrait i started to warm up to him, so i was so anxious the bad behavior that turned me off back then would kick off again, but instead i just remember loving him even more because i could see through the attitude and sees some elements of his storyline i really really love (mainly how a lot of his behavior come from attempt at killing boredom he doesn’t even realize are just that, that his “super easy mode” side ended up vastly isolating him (it’s in act 2 i think he mentions that even his family grew tired of him always winning at some point? which made him lose any passion he could have) and he’s basically just desperately seeking for anything that may give him thrills, and the backlash of failing at something for the first time in a long time, and finally managing to realize that this is where he’s thriving, in being able to have a space in which he can grow without basically being shut off because he’s “the best anyway”, while also getting people who *wants* him around (i’m thinking when he originally talks to Itaru about competing for the video game but Itaru drags him into being his gaming partner for exemple: Banri didn’t even THINK about collaborating, because his “perfectness” isolated him this much, and it was a way also to realize he could exist in a spot just by being, not by being the best).. i have a lot of thoughts about all of this i can’t articulate much today).
I found it SO interesting that i was too busy thinking about his thoughts about all of those themes that i forgot to be mad at him and instead ended up loving him more in general.
I also tend to also be a little more defensive with a3 because i think the characters all have complex sides to them people can relate to, which are generally taken in direction that are just... so good by a3, so i get attentive to what sort of issues people can relate to with those. I remember reading a lot of people say they related to Banri with a “burnt out gifted kid syndrome” approach and i think there’s something really interesting in the way a3 decided to tackle it.
So there’s really a lot of things i find really interesting with Banri and he has a lot of dynamics i really love, mainly with Yuki and Azami and even Kumon!!, or even just how he grew into the role of the Leader of his troupe to start with... that i’m just always a little bummed when i only see posts focusing on, let’s be real, his early dynamic with Juza (who honestly has grown more into a banter now than actual animosity anyway) which ends up shaping all of the way people see him despite him interreacting with more characters and having an individual arc on his own, even moreso as one of the leaders.
but again i also don’t want to impose my view of a character on anyone and i still see how his initial dynamic with Juza can leave a very bad taste in people’s mouth and humor is a way to cope, but at this point it’s just, too much, i see too much of those and i’m tired djlfhdFKJLDFL
i wish people were as dedicated making content about the characters they liked as they did dunking on character they don’t like that much
but orz. Hopefully eventually it’ll get better but. we’ll see...

EGGciting ♪ Zahra Travelogue 6/11
Tumblr media
Summary: It is time for Mankai’s customary training camp and it just so happens that the whole company has been invited to Zahra. However, it appears there may be a deeper reason as to why everyone was invited to this sunny island in the middle-east....
This story takes place after Act 8 in the main story and Harugaoka Quartet event.
THIS IS A 10 PART STORY WITH AN EPILOGUE.
[part 1] [part 2] [part 3] [part 4] [part 5] [part 6] [part 7] [part 8] [part 9] [part 10]
Epilogue “A Journey”
Tumblr media
Sakuya
-- I see!
Yuki
What is that book?
Sakuya
It’s a book I borrowed from the Royal Palace Library. It is a a famous Zahran story.
I have only been able to translate a bit of it but--
The story is something like, ‘An energetic young boy has lost all of the ‘colour’ in his flower. He meets a man who has no ‘heart’ and they go on a journey’.
Yuki
Hmm, that sounds pretty interesting.
Kumon
I wanna try and read it! Let me borrow it next!
Sakyo
But you can’t even read Zahran. However, I get the feeling you are quite interested in the story.
Sam
Ohh, what a great book! That story is where the Legend of the Jasmine comees from.
Izumi
The Legend of the Jasmine?
Sam
Yes. The story goes that the flowers were so overcome by the death of God, that they began to wither away one by one. However, it is only the jasmine flowers that were able to withstand this grief and survive.
And instead of withering, they turned from their original pink colour, to white.
Sakuya
So that’s why there’s a jasmine flower on the cover!
Sakyo
Oh, I see.
Sam
So everyone, the tea is ready. Come and get it!
Izumi
Wow, the jasmine tea and sweets are delicious!
Yuki
Yes, they have a great scent.
Sakyo
Hmm, come to think of it, I haven’t seen Guy anywhere.
Sam
Oh, some people from the palace came by earlier so he is probably still talking to them.
Sakuya
Well then I will go get him!
Kumon
I’ll come with you!
Tumblr media
Kumon
Ahh, Guy is over there!
Sakuya
Are they still talking?
Guy
[I would like to return this letter.]
Palace Official
[What is the meaning of this?]
Guy
[You all are happy. However, I unable to honour your request.]
Palace Official
[.... Understood. We will accept the return of the letter. However, our feelings will not change.]
[-- We need you.]
[So then, we will see you at the palace. Please allow us to take our leave.]
Guy
.....
[..... I need you.. Is it..?]
Sakuya
--
Guy
...hm? Sakuma, Kumon, you came?
Sakuya
Y-Yea. Sorry, it was just that you were in the middle of a conversation so we didn’t have a chance to call you for tea.
Kumon
It’s tea time, Guy! Let’s take our break together!
Guy
I see, so you came to get me. Thank you.
I will go and wash my hands, please go inside without me.
Sakuya
Alright.
Kumon
..... I wonder what Guy was talking about with the palace official?
For some reason I think I understood the last thing they said in Zahran. It’s on the tip of my tongue.... what was it?
Sakuya
(I am pretty sure that sentence was ‘I need you’........... So that means that letter was.... could it be...)

Kazunari
Wow this food is super photogenic! Mega insta-blammable~
Azuma
Fufu, and it goes very well with some sake.
Omi
No surprise, this food is completely different from what we get at home, I wonder what kind of spice they put in this.
Tsumugi
Fufu, not a surprising comment coming from the chef of the spicy food research club. Let’s ask one of the staff later.
Izumi
So what did Citron and Chikage’s teams do today?
Citron
We went to the plaza and played with the kids. We also talked with the locals and performed and etude!
Taichi
The locals were super nice and we raced with the kids, It was mega fun to play some hand games with the kids too~!
Tsuzuru
Citron was pretty popular, everyone gathered around him.
Juza
To introduce Japan, we performed a Manzai etude.
Izumi
A... Manzai etude....?
Tsuzuru
It was stand up improv....
Tasuku
I thought it was a rousing success... And a surprisingly good experience. It seemed like the locals also had a lot of fun.
Chikage
We went and assisted at the market. We also did some shopping.
Muku
Even though we all just spoke in broken sentences, I am really happy that we were able to speak with the people at the shops!
Tenma
Yea. And I really liked seeing all the different kinds of things they were selling.
Misumi
I bought lots and lots of foreign triangles!
Azami
I bought a lot of various Zahran cosmetics. The colours are nice, I think I will be using them a lot.
Sakyo
My god, don’t go overboard with all the spending.
Masumi
I want to go with you next time. Next time we have a break, let’s go buy souvenirs together.
Hisoka
I wanna go too, I wanna go find some Zahran marshmallows.
Itaru
I found a place that sells Zahran candy toys. How about we go tomorrow? There will probably be marshmallows too.
Hisoka
Let’s go.
Banri
And how about you guys, jasmine field team?
Kumon
The jasmine fields were suuuuper duper big, and they smelled amazing! I wish I could have gone with my big brother ~!
Yuki
The jasmine tea and sweets were delicious.
Homare
Ohh, you drank jasmine tea in the jasmine fields? That sounds amazing, I would love to go in the future.
Izumi
(Everyone seems pretty happy. It seems like this experience in a country where we don’t speak the language will help us with our performance later.)
Sakuya
.... Umm, Citron.
Citron
What’s up?
Sakuya
Well today in the jasmine fields I heard Guy say to one of the palace officials, [‘I need you’]..
Citron
Oh, like some adult way of flirting, like someone coming onto him?
Sakuya
N-No I not like that...!
Tangerine
[Sorry to intrude!]
[Brother! Guy! Mika is-- Mika is gone!]
