Hello metamy fandom, it's me, yo gurl

Since I did a small revamp of the Metal Werehog au around a month ago, thought I'd do one for the Untold Friendship too. Tbh the story is pretty much the same XD I still like how it was written back then, might just make a few changes and fix some grammar mistakes + new art!!

In this au, Metal Sonic's personality is more affected by Sonic's DNA, making him a more charismatic and childish character instead of the contrasting cold calculating robot. Despite that, he doesn't inherit Sonic's cocky and sassy demeanor. As a relatively new robot, Metal is a bit naive and disconnected from anything outside of Eggman's Base.

The first time he abducts Amy, coincidentally the first time he meets her, Metal immediately recognises her using Sonic’s memories. Metal concluded her to be annoying and loud as he replayed Sonic's memories of Amy. However, he doesn't develop that iconic annoyance for her that Sonic has. While Sonic met Amy while she rambled about them being destined to be together, Metal met her while she was scared and in panic, making him more empathetic and curious about her.

As his mission was to lure in Sonic and defeat him, there was no order to harm the pink hedgehog, so he ended up growing attached to her and mostly enjoying her company, not exactly understanding the weird situation Amy had got thrown in. He'd try to engage in conversation with her despite being limited to small beeping noises. She ended up getting used to his company but never really enjoying it.

After their first meeting, Metal was constantly instructed to capture and bring in Amy to use as bait to lure in Sonic. During one of those missions, as Metal stood guarding the cage Amy was being kept in, he wondered why Sonic was taking so long to come save what Metal assumed was one of his friends.

After a few hours of waiting, Amy finally opened up to the robot. She told him aboit how Sonic wasn’t coming. She tried not to cry as she explained that he was tired of rescuing this defenseless dumb kid that kept following him around. How he was tired of looking after a little kid who couldn’t defend herself despite the amounts of times she’d been abducted by Eggman’s evil bots; that she should know better by now. Amy sobbed over the fact she wasn’t cool or strong enough to be recognized by the love of her life.

Cool enough. Metal looked in his data-base for anything “cool”. He remembered hearing that word somewhere around Eggman's base while watching him work on multiple inventions. Various robot models, even weapons. Eggman explained to his creation how fragile he was; how as he was a robot built to be the fastest thing in all existence, he wasn't prepared for any kind of physical fighting. Therefore, he’d need some kind of weapon, not just to beat Sonic, but to also defend himself against any of his friends who might try to help him. A large yellow and white mallet sat on top of one the tables in the doctor’s lab; imperfect, still in progress. Various badniks said it looked cool.

“Tell him you stole it and broke out.” written on a post-it attached to the hammer’s head as he gave it to Amy. It’s what Sonic would’ve done; helping someone. No one saw her escape as Metal snuck her out of the facility, later pretending that she had knocked him out and ran away.

After Amy's first "escape", she had garnered the attention of Sonic and his friends, who praised her for having escaped from Eggman's grasp and even stealing one of his inventions. Amy never told them what really happened that day.

Now whenever Metal went to fight Sonic, he'd see Amy proudly standing next to her hero, ready to save the day from Eggman's evil robots. He would notice how she would exchange quick glances with him, letting him get away from battle whenever she could. Metal would understand this as quiet "thank you" messages from her, as she refused to hurt someone who had helped her get to where she was now.

To him, she was the coolest person he knew

Now that we have a date for The Mandalorian & Grogu movie, I keep thinking about how much fun the build up to the release day will be. It seems like so far away now and the wait will be TORTURE... but there are so many mini-milestones before May 22nd 2026 that will make that wait seem slightly less bearable.

I think about the first confirmation filming has begun, hopefully next month! The ensuing endless rumours and clickbait, of course. But it will feel so great to know that somewhere out there, the talented cast and crew are working on our movie.

I get so excited when I think about how it will feel when the first teaser trailer drops. The chaos here on tumblr, the theories we'll come up with. The emotions it will awaken and maybe even re-awaken in fans!

How it will feel to get a proper look at the movie with the official trailer. The even bigger chaos of that day. Our first glimpse of the movie will be so exciting, as will knowing it could pop up anywhere, even before other movies! Trying to act like a normal person if that happens.

As the release date gets closer, seeing the posters and billboards appear everywhere. The magazine covers, the TV appearances on the press tour with probably so many iconic interviews. The premieres!!

Before finally, the day itself in May 2026! Probably walking into my screening incredibly sleep deprived, taking my seat as my heart is pounding in my chest. Bursting with anticipation to finally see the characters that mean the world to me on the big screen.

I really cannot wait for that day itself, but I don't want to wish my life away. There is so much to look forward to before that date!

I have a wide array of reasons I like ARC-V (It's very close to being my favorite YGO next to Zexal) but I will attempt to sum some of them up

So many well rounded and lovable characters. EVen if they get rushed or shunned they still make a great impact

The monster diversity is the absolute best. Performapals, Frightfurs, Raidraptors, Phantom Knights, Speedroids, Predaplants... Literally like almost every single deck in ARC-V is visually appealing. These are all such interesting archetypes with very engaging visual design (I love how they mixed things up with Legacy duelist decks as well)

To go off of that, the dimension dragon designs are sick, and mainly because they are ALSO diverse in body-types - they're all distinctly different in silhouette alone!! Instead of the cookie-cutter basic bipedal almost humanoid dragon that most yugioh characters have had as dragon aces

Action dueling is fun and made me actually pay attention to the duels. It allows for fun and dramatic hijinks and visuals. Action cards in kind were a great idea in concept but I'm saddened that they didn't stick to action traps etc

The monsters get personality which is something Yugioh desperately needs more of!! Performapals are very emotive and characters interacting with their aces etc is so much fun

Masumi

Also a girl character (Masumi) using monsters that aren't feminine which very few other ygo girls have done

Oh the monster CGI is also the best in any Yugioh when they remember to lower the framerate to match the 2d. Like by anime standards in general at the time, this CGI holds up GOOD and I dont mind it

ARC-V has such a KILLER OST OH MY GOD. I would ONLY rank it below Sevens OST personally but they went fucking insane with ARC-V dude go listen to Yuto's Passionate Soul

Disregarding the whole egao deal, I love Yuya sooo much because he feels so grounded and relatable. He feels down constantly and yeah king!! Me too!! Life is depressing but he's doing his best and I'm proud of him
