Who Needs The Avatar When You Have A Gojo
➥ summary: Throughout Heaven and earth, I alone am the honored one….honored to beat your ass.” If you thought it was bad enough having one Gojo around try having another - that’s where you come in. You’re the younger sibling of the ol’ so famous Gojo Satoru and find yourself getting isekai into another world where motherfuckers fire bend and this bald monk kid is suppose to be the worlds savior but how’s he gonna save anyone if he can’t master this shit called bending - anyways join us, yourself, these people on a Journey of self discovery or some shit like that.
➥ chapter 7: A Fateful Encounter
Tumblr media
As (Y/N) Gojo bid farewell to the small town of Earthbenders, her heart was filled with a mixture of nostalgia and anticipation. The bonds she had forged and the memories she had made would forever hold a special place in her heart. Yet, her insatiable desire to help those in need propelled her forward, guiding her steps towards the unknown.
As she journeyed through the vast landscapes, (Y/N) encountered various challenges and opportunities to exercise her limitless and Six Eyes abilities. She traversed treacherous terrains, encountering bands of Fire Nation soldiers along the way. Her encounters with them were swift and decisive, as she utilized her powers to protect the innocent and uphold justice.
One fateful day, as the sun cast its warm glow upon the horizon, (Y/N) found herself facing yet another group of Fire Nation soldiers. Their intentions were clear—to instill fear and impose their dominance upon those they deemed weaker. However, they had underestimated the power and determination of the young protector.
With a deft combination of her Limitless and Six Eyes abilities, (Y/N) swiftly incapacitated the soldiers, ensuring their defeat and the safety of the surrounding area. As the echoes of battle subsided, she stood tall, her gaze sweeping the surroundings, assessing the aftermath of her victory.
Unbeknownst to (Y/N), her actions had caught the attention of a nearby group of individuals led by a charismatic and enigmatic figure named Jet. He had been watching from a distance, observing (Y/N)'s prowess and determination as she single-handedly took down the Fire Nation soldiers.
Impressed by her display of power and compassion, Jet and his people approached (Y/N), extending a warm invitation to join their society. They spoke of a community built upon the principles of freedom and equality, striving to overthrow the tyranny of the Fire Nation. They believed that (Y/N)'s unique abilities would greatly aid their cause and bring about the liberation they so desperately sought.
While the offer seemed enticing on the surface, (Y/N) couldn't shake the uneasy vibes she felt from Jet. There was something about him that raised her suspicions—a hidden agenda lurking beneath his charming façade. She sensed a darkness within him, a willingness to cross moral boundaries in the pursuit of their shared goals.
With a heavy heart, (Y/N) declined Jet's offer, expressing her gratitude for the invitation while explaining her need to continue her journey alone. She conveyed her belief that true change could only be achieved by upholding the values of compassion and justice without compromise.
Jet, disappointed but understanding, respected (Y/N)'s decision and bid her farewell. As she ventured forth, (Y/N) couldn't help but feel a pang of regret. She wondered if there was a missed opportunity to align her abilities with a cause greater than herself, to forge alliances and work towards a common goal.
However, (Y/N) reminded herself that her intuition had served her well thus far. She couldn't ignore the uneasy vibes she had sensed from Jet. She trusted in her instincts, knowing that the path she had chosen would ultimately lead her to where she was needed most.
As she continued her journey, (Y/N) carried with her the memories of the village of Earthbenders, the stories they had shared, and the bonds they had forged. The lessons she had learned from them remained etched in her heart—lessons of unity, compassion, and unwavering resilience.
Chapter 7 marked a turning point in (Y/N)'s journey as she declined the offer to join Jet and his group. Although she was uncertain of what lay ahead, she remained steadfast in her conviction to use her powers for the greater good. With each step, she knew she was getting closer to her purpose—a purpose that transcended the boundaries of any one group or society. And so, she continued her path, guided by her intuition and the unyielding desire to make a difference in a world plagued by darkness.

biography
lana kensington was a total wild child, born and raised in the swinging '60s of melbourne, australia. That era was like fuel for her unconventional spirit. she thrived in the city's counterculture scene, soaking up all the rebellion, individuality, and freedom vibes. art, music, and fashion became her niche, shaping her tastes and giving her a deep appreciation for nonconformity.
her parents were on the simpler side. she grew up on a small house by the beach. they were the type to walk around barefoot and make sure everyone gets to go surfing at the peak hour. her, her siblings, parents, and little pets got along amazing even through the rough teen years. the love for each other was strong.
but wait, things got even more interesting for lana in her early 30s. that's when she went through her vampire transformation, turning her into this timeless and ethereal being. during that time she worked as a clerk at a gas station. that’s where she met a customer passing through. queue edward cullen moment because he was nothing like she’d ever seen with his pale skin versus her tanned. she was immediately drawn to him. one thing led to another and somehow she ended up in the situation she has to life with for the rest of her life
adjusting to her new immortal existence wasn't always easy, in fact, she’s still guiding herself through it even after 50ish years. but, nevertheless, lana managed to hold onto her youthful exuberance while navigating the ups and downs of eternal life.
her moral compass always pointed towards helping others, even if it meant bending or breaking the rules. lana's journey took her all over the globe. she jet-setted across different cities, immersing herself in all sorts of cultures. along the way, she mastered her vampiric abilities. her agility was off the charts, her charm was irresistible, and she had some supernatural power that she’s still working on to this day.
of course, she ended up in no other than las vegas! here’s she’s been living around for ten years. first a receptionist, then worked at a pizza parlor, the na cocktail waitress, and somehow she worked her way up to being one of the djs at encore beach club.

Hello!! Could I request a Zemo x reader fic where he overhears the reader making a joke with Sam and Bucky, “I wonder if any rich people out there would want an Avenger trophy wife”? Thanks <3
A/N: Thank you for the request! I’ll let you guys decide if he’s manipulating the reader or if he’s just ooc. I decided to make the reader very poor and selfless so it would fit better and kept her power ambiguous.
Trophy Wife - Helmut Zemo x F!Reader
Warnings: Swearing, describing poor living conditions
Word count: 1169
Tumblr media
Y/n was poor. She rejected all the money and fame she could have gotten from being Avenger, not wanting to profit off of a job that had previously ruined a country, even if that happened before she had joined. Instead, Y/n considered herself nothing more than a concerned citizen taking action to help, even if that meant she had to eat cup noodles for every meal in a water damaged studio apartment.
Now she sat on Zemo’s couch, a cup of tea nestled in her hands as she looked around the home. It was nice, not overly showy but was visibly upper class. Y/n couldn’t believe this was how she was living now, pulled around by a rich guy. Truthfully, she could get used to the perks that came with being around the Baron.
“I still can’t believe I can say I’ve been in a private jet.” Y/n said out loud, getting the attention of Bucky and Sam. “I mean just a few days ago I was poor as fuck, living off of dollar store cup noodles and sunny d. I was able to eat a steak yesterday!” She laughed, only earning a concerned look from the three men at her living arrangements, Zemo now no longer staring into his cup and instead at Y/n inquisitively, his head tilted slightly.
“Damn Y/n, you lived like that?” Asked Sam, “Like, you’re not exaggerating?”
Y/n laughed. “God, I wish I was.  But no, I actually lived like that. I should invite you guys around to my apartment sometime, you can meet the rats that live in my walls.”  Her words caused Bucky’s never ending stare to morph into serious concern and Sam’s jaw to drop. Zemo showed indifference, grabbing her empty cup she had placed down and going to the kitchen to wash it. “That’s a joke, it’s actually mice.”
“How do you live like that?” Asked Bucky, “If you need a place to stay, I don’t use my bedroom much.”
“It’s hard to hold another job when you’re an Avenger and it just feels wrong to get money from it. Unlike you two I became an Avenger right out of highschool, I didn’t have savings like Sam and I wasn’t in anyone’s will like you Bucky. All my money comes from the occasional government mission that I allow to pay me. But don’t worry about me, I'm an Avenger, I’ll make do. I don’t need any help” She smiled at the two.
“Alright, but you need anything you call me. God, I can’t believe you live like that. Do I need a tetanus shot just because I’ve been standing close to you?” Joked Sam, easing the tense concern that filled the air.
Y/n giggled. “No don’t worry, I’m safe. But being with Zemo has made me start thinking,” She paused for a moment, wondering if she should really say this. “I wonder if any rich people out there would like an Avenger trophy wife?” Sam let out a laugh, about to say something when an unexpected voice interrupted.
“I would.” Spoke Zemo from his place in the kitchen, popping a turkish delight into his mouth.
All heads turned to the Sovokian Baron, earning a casual shrug from him. Y/n felt her cheeks turn red as she processed his words. Bucky’s fist clenching as he shot a glare to Zemo. Sam looked between the two, his nose wrinkling in disgust.
“No, no, no this is not what’s going to happen. I need some air, I’m going for a walk.” He headed to the door, followed by an awkwardly silent Bucky. “You two, don’t do anything weird while we’re gone.” Sam tossed on his jacket, muttering about the situation under his breath as he headed out with Bucky in tow.
The room became consumed by silence soon after, the only sound being made was from the wrapping on Zemo’s turkish delights as he tossed another one into his mouth. Y/n couldn’t keep his eyes off him, thinking of his words. She hadn’t really realized how attractive he was before now. Not a hair out of place, his long jacket slung over his shoulders, the air of casual confidence he gave off. She wasn’t sure why she liked him, the man that caused a rift within the Avengers, who had caused so much pain to those she cared about. She almost felt guilty for it. Almost.
“I meant what I said.” The sokovian accent filled the room after a few moments, Y/n’s eyes snapping to his instead of looking at his body. “About an Avenger trophy wife.”
“And why would you mean that? I thought you hated us?” Y/n asked, confused.
Zemo walked over, his steps slow and back straight as he approached, looking like the royalty he was. “Because you’re not like them, you’re not a supremacist. You live in squalor because you believe it’s the right thing to do. You don’t show your power to the world and become a glorified image, you try to remain human. You’re humble, altruistic.” He paused right in front of Y/n. She turned her head away from him, looking out the window, his words making her cheeks painted red.
“You flatter me Zemo.” She spoke nervously, not used to all the praise. She wasn’t a popular avenger so not many people paid attention to her efforts, and she didn’t care if they did or didn’t but it felt nice to receive a compliment. In a way, Zemo’s praise meant more to her in her eyes than anyone else's. He was against the whole group and wasn’t scared to make that known, yet here he was complimenting her.
“It’s the truth.” His hand cupped her cheek and guided Y/n’s face to look at his. “You don’t deserve to live like that when you’re the only good one in the damn system. If the others were like you, maybe my country would still be around.” His eyes held sadness within them for a moment as he almost stared through her before going back to how he was before. “I know I can’t marry you now, however just think of at least being my sugar baby, let me reward you for being the only hero with a good moral compass.”
Y/n stared into his dark eyes for a few moments, mulling over the situation. Was it right to accept? No. But she hadn’t felt true appreciation for her actions and sacrifices before, nor such genuine praise, that she decided for once and only once it was time to be selfish. She reached into her pocket and ripped a page out of her notebook, scribbling her number onto the sheet and handing it to Zemo.
“I accept.”

the gaang + how well they would do on the infinity train?
this is suuuper hard because there are so many factors to take into consideration. first is obviously the train itself. the train's function in a metanarrative sense is to serve as a vehicle for storytelling, dissecting & deconstructing the process of a narrative and how a character's arc is propelled by their circumstances. the train supposedly functions to improve its passengers, and yet we also know that The Train is a deeply flawed mechanism that can corrupt and further traumatize its passengers just as much as it can "fix" them. when the train invites you in with the single-minded goal of getting your number to zero, assuming you ever disembark, you're probably gonna be left with even more trauma than when you arrived, or at the very least, weirder trauma.
grace wanted to be seen, but instead of learning to value herself for her own intrinsic worth instead of relying on validation from those around her, she was enabled by that validation and literally started a cult. likewise, since jet is basically a less heinous version of simon, i see him taking a similar path to the apex (though he would of course name them the freedom fighters) trying to overthrow the tyrannical one-one and reinstate the True Conductor. he would think his path is righteous. he would think he is protecting those kids from evil. who knows what would happen once he learns the truth.
then there is the matter of what the train wants from you. the train arrives at a pivotal moment in one's life, when they are at an emotional crossroads and need a catalyst for growth. for example, jesse's problem was relatively small (because he is perfect) but hurting his brother caused him emotional turmoil nonetheless, so the train stepped in. this means that to answer this question properly, i would have to answer not only when the train arrives for them, but why, and seeing that every single atla character carries massive amounts of baggage (most of it flavors of trauma that infinity train has not addressed), this proves extremely difficult. i have to identify the most narratively satisfying moment in each character's lives to have the train arrive, and then i have to make assumptions about which cars would propel them which way (emotionally). you're asking me to outline nine different fanfictions.
only jet's character feels similar enough to any of the characters we've seen in infinity train for me to even have an inkling as to what path he would take. while sokka and tulip are quite similar as people (rational, scientific yet creative thinkers who over-rely on logic over feeling, are deeply loyal, and instinctually blame themselves for the problems caused by others), their character arcs themselves have little in common. both aang and hazel experience a tragic loss of pure, childhood innocence (which is why i cry over both of them every day), but in relatively dissimilar ways (at least appa gets to return to aang). min-gi and zuko are both pressured by their upbringings to conform to a standard that makes them miserable to please their parents, only to ultimately embrace their own passion & truth... but not only do those arcs play out completely differently, zuko and min-gi are completely different people, and if anything, zuko's approach to life is far more like ryan's (ie, jumping off a cliff and hoping he lands on his feet).
but what i think you're really asking, at the end of the day, is how emotionally mature, self-aware, and capable of positive growth is each atla character? because how am i supposed to know what the train would do to their psyches, considering each external situation would shape them differently, and unless i'm supposed to meticulously craft fanfiction for each one of them (which i wouldn't be opposed to doing, but only for one character, i simply cannot do all nine – also, i'm surprised infinity train AUs aren't more common, but then again i'm not particularly familiar with fanficition, so maybe it is!), it would only be an approximation, in which i identify their core problem (which again, is not how real people work, or even how atla characters work, but how The Train works) and then analyze how long it would take for each of them to solve said problem.
so, that was a very long-winded preface. without further ado:
aang's main problem is that he keeps running away from his problems, which is to say, distracting himself from the enormity of his grief. personally, i would say his coping mechanism isn't the worst. after all, he experiences so much world-shattering pain in such a short span of time, and he does deserve to preserve his childhood and his innocence for as long as possible. but, for the purposes of the narrative, the train must necessarily disagree. he must confront his grief head-on, without distracting himself from it or flying into a destructive rage that he'd only regret later. it also depends on who his companions are. with katara by his side, he can get through anything (and vice versa), but it's unclear who will be there to guide him through his pain. that said, i know he'd make it through okay. he's aang. he has to.
katara lives in a fairytale. like i said with aang, that's not really a bad thing. she's a great kid with big dreams and a big heart. she wants to save the world, and – guess what! – she does. but living in a storybook strips one's worldview of the nuances of life, not simply the harsh realities of the world, but also the full extent of one's personhood, outside of simply the black and white worldview of heroes and villains. katara's apotheosis is when she confronts yon rha, looks him in the eyes, and sees a human being staring back at her, another human being. she is no longer in a revenge tale. she is out of stories to tell herself. (life doesn't make narrative sense.) ironically, the train is a metaphor for storytelling, so katara coming to realize that she isn't in a story would both be confusingly meta and also fucking brilliant (if i do say so, personally). i don't know how exactly it would play out, but by god i would pay to see it.
in many ways, sokka is remarkably open-minded, and in many ways, sokka is extremely stubborn. i think he'd come to terms with his own emotional growth (which would be rooted in learning his own self-worth) faster than he'd come to terms with the train itself. "okay, fine, yeah, i deserve love regardless of what i can do for other people, but WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS PLACE?!?!?" his journey through the train is actually everyone else's dream experience on the train. passengers and denizens alike keep falling in love with him (or at the very least, admiring him more than they've ever admired anyone they've ever met), but he doesn't even notice because he's too busy being extremely suspicious of everything he comes into contact with. yes, he'll solve your problems and puzzles and help people and make meaningful connections and eventually he might start to realize that he is worth something even when he's alone, even (especially) when he's being unconventional or "weird" or "selfish." but even once he does get his door, does he walk through it? oh no, he takes it apart and tries to figure out how it just created a fucking portal. so while he would technically "do" quite well, he is never leaving that fucking train. rip sokka.
well, toph needs to learn to accept and embrace her own vulnerability. she definitely goes through that same crystal karaoke car tulip did. that, or the train just tortures her by putting her in increasingly more painful situations in which she must ask for help. but that's too awful to even think about, so i'm just gonna say she has to sing karaoke.
zuko needs to learn to trust his instincts and his own internal moral compass instead of the external pressures being forced upon him by his Father (capital F to emphasize that his nation & his father – aka the patriarchy – are one & the same for him, lmao). and he would fail. a lot. but eventually he would realize that his number goes down when he lets himself be himself, and he would leave the train happy. he probably also gets a bunch of cute little talking animal companions to guide him through. he deserves it.
the train appears to suki while she's having a breakdown in solitary confinement at the boiling rock. she finds healthy ways to cope with being put through hell while on the train, and by the time she gets off, she's being let out of solitary. it is a very rewarding experience, and one that she can swear wasn't just some hallucination. she's constantly telling herself yes, of course it was just a hallucination.... but still... it felt so real....
if i had to diagnose azula with one singular problem that plagues her at the core of her very being, it would have to be her fear of rejection. but it's not good enough to just keep having train cars reject azula, she has to accept that rejection, instead of just intimidating people into submission after the fact. she needs to understand why she is being rejected, and be fine with it, and learn from it, instead of letting her lack of universal perfection in every area anyone could ever excel in shake her to her very core. when ty lee proved that she secured the affections of dumb stupid boys better than azula ever could, she did an arson to cope (which of course is still very valid of her uwu). azula needs to learn to come in second place, third place, even last place, and shrug it off, think to herself, "hopefully i'll do better next time, and if not, that's okay also," and once that happens, everything else will fall into place. though maybe she could read bell hooks or smth at some point on the train cuz i think that could help too.
mai needs to stop being so goddamn depressed all the time. has she tried lexapro, or perhaps using a lightbox in winter? her favorite coping mechanism, knives, only helps her feel something some of the time, but most (if not all) of the time she's still being expected to play a part. has she tried, like, being herself? i heard from zuko (you know, the guy? from the train?) that "being yourself" works wonders. so the train gives her that opportunity. and she actually even enjoys herself for once in her miserable fucking life.
omg there must've been some sort of mistake ty lee was totally sent here by accident because she's actually super happy all the time and doesn't have any problems!!!!!!!! jk, can u even imagine? ty lee hates her life too, she just doesn't go around advertising it like mai does with her big dyke boots and depressing eyeliner. but apparently she also needs to learn how to "be herself," whatever that means. as if life isn't a constant performance, you know, like jacques said or whatever. she sees mai on the train. she rolls her big beautiful brown eyes. "oh god, not you too."

Arthur I’m writing my Jetru fic and I got sad because I started thinking about how Jet must’ve felt after the failed attack on that village. Like maybe at first he was mad that it failed, that the Fire nation is still around and probably hungry for revenge. But after some time he probably started questioning himself. He probably started thinking about what Katara told him afterwards, about what Sokka said, Aang said. Jet probably starts feeling such incredible amount of guilt. He probably asks himself at night whether he’s doing the right thing or not, if he’s doing this for the good of his people or himself. He probably agonizes whether he’s a bad person. And you know Jet he probably doesn’t talk about this at all. He probably keeps it to himself and doesn’t say a word to Smellerbee or Haru or Longshot. And they could all tell he’s not doing so good but he just won’t ask for help. He refuses to ask for any clarity on whether what he did was right and wrong. He feels like a bad person for not knowing whether his actions were right or wrong, he probably feels like he doesn’t have the best moral compass in the world and feels guilty for that too. He tries and tries his best yet the world has shown him it’s not enough, or rather that it’s not the right way. At this point he just seriously doesn’t know what to do, he’s never had guidance before, he’s always been the guide to his kids. All he’s ever had are ashes from burned down homes and scars from too many enemies. He probably doesn’t feel like he has anyone to talk to. SLFJDK DONT MIND ME IM JUST SAD WHILE WRITING.
To write fic about Jet is to constantly angst about him and you’ve just given me a whole new angle from which to angst about him. I think he probably spends a lot of time thinking about what he did and whether he was right or wrong, and it probably cuts into his sleep (because during the day, he can’t angst about whether he’s a good person or not, because he has mouths to feed and he’s always putting the other Freedom Fighters’ comfort and happiness over his own.) And then there’s the question of what the other Freedom Fighters believe, because while we know that Smellerbee and Longshot went with him to Ba Sing Se, it’s less clear how they felt about the cause between the time we saw them in Book 1 to the time we see them again in Book 2 (to say nothing of Pipsqueak, the Duke, and Sneers, from whom we have no information about how they felt about Jet after that point because the comics aren’t canon what’s bryke gonna do send me an anon? I dare them) So everybody’s probably wrestling with their internal conflicts about their cause and whether they were actually right to do what they tried to do, and keeping it inside because none of them know how to actually talk to each other in a healthy way. I imagine that’s why the Freedom Fighters broke up--they were united by a common cause, and when they started to question that cause, they questioned each other. The impression I get from Jet, Smellerbee, and Longshot’s appearances in book 2 is that it’s right after they hit rock bottom, right when they’re trying to put themselves back together after the makeshift lives they built for themselves fell apart, right after they lost their family again. And that’s what makes what happened in Ba Sing Se such a tragedy.
Also, I’m sure you told me that you’re writing a Jetru fic but I forgot and now I’m just so excited to see what one of my favorite fic writers is going to do with two of my favorite characters. But yeah, writing fic about Jet tends to make you pretty emo. He has that effect.

Review: Spider-Man Far From Home
I watched it against better judgement. Should really start listening to myself in these cases, because I knew I wasn’t going to like this - and color me surprised, I greatly disliked this.
So, if you expect even a single good word about the movie, this... is not the review for you, keep scrolling, read someone else’s.
I admit, I was a great fan of the IronDad and Spider-Son in the last one. It was... the only truly enjoyable part of that movie. And it was cool.
But with this? Damn. These movies can hardly call themselves Spider-Man movies, they are banking as heavy of Tony Stark as Iron Man movies do. This is just... ridiculous.
That the first movie’s villain was motivated through Tony Stark for bullshit reasons, that Tony made Peter’s suit (despite one of the great things about Peter being that he builds those himself because he too is brilliant), that Tony was a mentor figure for Peter, okay fine.
But here? That Peter just... latches onto the next-best middle-aged white guy as his replacement mentor figure? Insanely cheap, particularly considering they’ve known each other for like two damn days.
That the villain again is motivated by Tony Stark is just so bloody tiresome. The MCU needs to learn a new tune. This stopped being creative after the second Iron Man movie, really. And dragging this “Tony Stark wronged me once so now I wanna destroy/rule the world because of him” into other movies, now even into movies that don’t even feature Tony anymore...? That’s less than cheap, it’s straight-up pathetic.
They created a Spider-Man who is 200% dependant on Tony Stark about absolutely everything. His suit, his moral-compass, even his damn villains.
And that’s me talking as a huge Tony stan, okay? I love Tony Stark. I really truly genuinely love the Tony-Peter dynamic, but... having Tony guide him a bit versus making every single angle of Spider-Man dependant on Tony Stark is a huge difference.
While they didn’t use Tony Stark himself, they had a painting or other memorial approximately every twenty minutes, just so no one forgets that this is the Tony Stark Universe...
It’s not even like this is the only problem this movie has though!
The entire forced premise of Far From Home is the biggest bullshit yet.
These fifteen year old teenagers, right after a huge financial crisis of being undusted again, just go... not even just on one trip to one city in Europe. They fly, from the United States of Far Away, all the way to Venice in Italy, then drive in a bus all the way to Prague, Czechia... which is like nine hours driving? Never mind that this was somehow considered an “upgrade” from their original plans of going to freaking Paris, France? And somehow they were also in London... which is all the way over in England?
They didn’t just visit various cities in Europe, they visited various countries. And act like this is somehow... a class-trip that you can... afford? How? This is a public school, not some rich-kid school...?
Just. Nothing about those travel-plans in that context made even remote sense. There wasn’t even a reason for it to be in Europe? I mean, come on, aside from the dumbass name having to fit with Homecoming, there was no need for this to take place all over Europe...?
The nice thing about Spider-Man is that he is our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. So... how about... you just... put him into his neighborhood and let him... protect... his... neighborhood?
They’re trying to force him into being Tony Stark 2.0 so hard (that scene in the jet with Happy... wow. Like, that was mindblowing how hard they tried there). But the thing is: Peter Parker is not Tony Stark 2.0, Peter Parker is Peter Parker. Let Peter Parker be Peter Parker!
Another part that truly irritated me is how they’re literally forcing Peter into that role. Like. He doesn’t want it. He wanted to go on a vacation, but his aunt forces him to take his suit along. There’s a difference between supporting and wilfully encouraging.
“Nick Fury” comes in and drugs a child, there was literally no need to knock Ned out, what the fuck was that awful move, that is horrifying. And then he proceeds to coerce Peter into joining it.
That low blow of “you’re not ready” - like, genuinely fuck you, he didn’t want to be there, he wanted to be on vacation but you literally hijacked his trip to force him to go along with your plan? A fifteen year old child? But antis threw a fit that Tony Stark built him a suit and supported him in the last movie; at least he never forced Peter into anything, what the ever-loving fuck...?
That whole shtick of the adult heroes being “unavailable” was... Ant-Man. Wasp. Captain Marvel. War Machine. Falcon. Winter Soldier. Scarlet Witch. Hawkeye. Hulk. Doctor Strange. And, as I assume even though the MCU pretends it’s not so, there must have been a ton of new heroes who rose in the past five years too! But nope, we gotta go and coerce a fifteen year old child into this huge threat... sounds legit. And don’t give me that bullshit post-credit “he was Talos all along and didn’t know what to say because he doesn’t know the Avengers!!!”. Fuck that excuse too. And that twist.
And, while I’m at it, fuck that other twist too. Mysterio pops up exactly when the Elementals attack and only for that time-period. Spider-Man’s been around for years and literally helped during the whole Infinity War thing? Like? They made memorials for Cap, Black Widow, Vision even and Tony Stark, because they knew in such great detail how that battle went, but... Spider-Man, who was there and has helped people out for years now... Yep, one fake news from a dude who was around for like a whole damn week... and I’m supposed to buy that Spidey’s reputation is kaputt? Not mentioning damn they just took the same dude who played JJJ before? That’s just lazy and... urgh, he’s so old. So far, he was at least countered by Spider-Men who looked like they were in their mid-twenties. But having such an old dude try to suppress a literal child, especially with Peter outed now... that’s just not a cool dynamic? Particularly with how this version of Spider-Man went out of its way to ““update”“ Flash Thompson and essentially created a whole-ass OC and slapped Flash’s name onto him... but JJJ’s staying The Exact Literal Same, even with the same actor...? I had kind of expected him to be updated into a school-age bully who was on social media and spread bad fake news about Spider-Man on like twitter, tumblr and whatever to, you know, update it.
Look, the point is... The point is, all of this was so incredibly forced. It was so manifactured to get Peter into this situation, to get him to Europe, to get him involved in this attack. There was little logic behind it.
I just... I really didn’t like... anything... about this movie? Like, there was nothing? That Happy/May was sudden, weird and really just had the point of Peter being weirded out? That Peter/MJ that literally came out of nowhere was just yikes. Ned was pretty much useless this movie, even though him and his dynamic with Peter was so great in the last movie but now he was just all about that girlfriend. The constant invoking of Tony’s name like you could forget for maybe two seconds that it all hinges on him. Mysterio’s weak-ass motvation. How, or why, Fury had to get Peter involved in this. The lack of logic concerning the logistics and the motivations, just... nothing. This was just bad.

The Aftermath VI
“What is it?” Piper asked, arching a brow as Siyanda returned to the lab with a look of annoyance.
“My father.”
“What’d he do?” Piper winced, setting down her wrench and perching on the edge of the work bench.
“He wants me to go home,” Siyanda shrugged, angrily jerking open the top of a tool box.
“You don’t want to,” Piper noted.
“Of course not. It’s not that I don’t love my home-I do-but I have priorities here. One of those is making sure Thalia heals properly and isn’t...you know.” Siyanda waved her hand as if the word she was looking for would magically appear.
“Being hard on herself?” Piper guessed.
“Something like that,” Siyanda nodded. “Not to mention the issues with Drew. Scout may need my help getting his plan to work and I can’t abandon him. It’s horrible timing, that’s all.”
“Do you know what your dad wants you for?” Piper asked, swinging her legs slightly.
“No. He says it’s important and urgent. That I should make arrangements to return home as soon as possible,” Siyanda sighed, not finding the tool she was looking for. With an agitated flick of the hand she closed the tool box lid with a ‘thud’.
“I can cover for you. I don’t mind putting some of my projects on hold to help Scout out,” Piper suggested.
“I would appreciate that,” Siyanda nodded, “but it doesn’t ease my frustrations.”
“I know,” Piper smiled faintly.
— — —
Siyanda packed her bag hurriedly not caring enough to settle her belongings neatly inside. Instead, she shoved and crammed whatever was needed into the bag and hoped for the best.
“I won’t be long,” Si assured, turning to see Thalia watching her with faint amusement. “What is it?”
“You’re cute when you’re angry...and one of your bras is half hanging out of the bag,” Thalia noted.
Huffing, Siyanda shoved the garment fully into the bag before checking it over: no other clothing was spilling out. With a final tug she zipped the bag shut and slung it over her shoulders. “That would have been embarrassing.”
“Eh,” Thalia shrugged, “worse things could happen.”
“You’re right,” Siyanda sighed, “I’m too worked up.”
“It’s okay,” Thalia promised, “change is difficult especially when it’s sudden.”
“When did you become so wise?” Siyanda smiled, arching a brow.
“I don’t know,” Thalia shrugged looking very much like a kid.
“Well, you’re very intelligent and I think people forget that at times.”
“Thank you,” Thalia blushed faintly.
“Of course,” Siyanda smiled, “now, uh, I have to go. I don’t know how long I’ll be gone but I will try to get in touch as soon as I find out what’s going on.”
“Alright,” Thalia nodded, clambering from her bed where she’d been trying to beat a dueling game Enzo had lended her.
“Love you,” Si breathed, giving Thalia a quick kiss and a hesitant hug.
“Love you too. Oh, make sure you say hi to the animals for me,” Thalia noted.
“I will,” Siyanda snorted.
— — —
The jet ride to Wakanda was a long and silent one. Of course, Siyanda tried to distract herself from the nagging anxiety in her chest, but it was nearly impossible. Her only relief was sleep but even the nap was filled with a faint sense of dread.
Her brain refused to shut down. She laid there for nearly two hours thinking of nothing and everything all at once before finally drifting off to sleep. When she woke, the pilot announced their slow descent.
Collecting her bag which-remained untouched on the flight- the princess waited impatiently for her jet to land. Wheels gracing the small landing strip and a bit of rough rocking later Siyanda was standing once more on Wakandan soul.
The place was unchanged from what she could tell, and the atmosphere brought a sense of nostalgia. Almost immediately her worries disappeared. The golden grass blowed gently in the breeze, the sun was warm upon her shoulders, and the natural world replaced the sounds of New York.
“Siyanda!” A voice called out from across a tiny field.
Turning, Siyanda spotted her aunt waving enthusiastically. “Aunt Shuri!”
Running excitedly through the knee high grass, Siyanda embraced her aunt fiercely. It seemed like forever since they’d seen each other.
“Hey, have you gotten taller?” Shuri asked, pulling back from the hug to study her niece.
“No!” Siyanda laughed, “I stopped growing ages ago. I’m only taller because the ground is slanted.”
“Right,” Shuri winked, “well, I hope your trip was comfortable.”
“More or less,” Siyanda admitted as Shuri set a slow pace towards the looming city ahead. “Do you...well, would you happen to know why my father wanted me here so suddenly?”
“I do,” Shuri nodded, “but he has sworn me to give no information to you and it isn’t my place to do so.”
“Oh.” Siyanda’s shoulders drooped.
“Anyways, how is that girlfriend of yours?” Shuri arched an expectant brow.
“Great,” Siyanda stammered, “she’s uh...well...great.”
“Did you freeze?” Shuri teased, seeming to sense something different about her niece.
“Freeze for what?” Siyanda snorted, giving her aunt the side eye.
“You know what I mean. I can tell when relationships hit third base,” Shuri laughed maniacally as Siyanda punched her arm.
“And no...I didn’t freeze,” the princess glowered.
“Good girl,” Shuri smiled, slinging an arm about Siyanda’s shoulders. “Now, I know there were issues with New York and a group of anti-heroes. One of them being one of our own. He was buried properly as you asked, but did the rest turn out okay?”
“Yes, mostly.” Siyanda spent a good portion of their walk back home relaying the details of their battles and the end result of the conflict. How Nathaniel and Harper went to Killian’s funeral, that Drew had the potential for a recovery along with Bianca, that there was tension in the Laufeyson family, and much more.
“I’m sorry to hear of Thalia’s injuries ,” Shuri frowned, “Are the others alright? Aside from the new comers and Bianca?”
“Yeah,” Si nodded, “things are going good. Piper has a girlfriend now. That’s pretty neat. Her name’s Gen. Very intelligent and thankfully keeps Piper in line when Alex can’t.”
“Ah,” Shuri laughed, “no different than her parents.”
The two chatted for a few more minutes before they arrived at the palace. Siyanda acknowledged the guards with a small smile and nod. It felt odd but refreshing to be at home.
The entire place was as spacious as she remembered with the well manicured gardens, pristine palace walk way, arching walls, glittering ornaments from statues to painting frames, and much more.
“There she is!” T’Challa beamed, standing in the middle of the entry-room.
“Daddy!” Siyanda ran excitedly to her father no different than when she was little. The king picked her up with ease.
“How I’ve missed you,” he grinned, taking a moment to study her appearance. “You’re...you’re so much older. Wise and beautiful too.”
“Where’s mom?” Siyanda asked, looking about expectantly.
“She will be here shortly,” T’Challa promised. “Your mother was only making sure your room was prepared.”
“And it is,” Nakia noted, striding rather proudly into the room.
“Mom!” Siyanda broke away from her father to embrace her mother.
“Hi honey,” Nakia laughed, kissing the top of Siyanda’s head. “Come, take the back pack off it will be put in your room. You’ll be more comfortable without all of this weight. What did you do? Pack a small country in here?”
“I didn’t know what I needed so I took as much as possible,” Siyanda explained bashfully. Shuri rolled her eyes and took the bag from her niece before heading off to put it away.
“You must tell us everything you’ve been up to-“
“After the business we need to discuss,” T’Challa reminded his wife.
“Yeah,” Siyanda frowned glancing between her parents, “what am I here for?”
“Come.” T’Challa waved for Siyanda to follow. The princess jogged to keep pace with her father’s quick stride until she could match it. Nakia trailed slightly behind as the trio headed for the gardens. “As you may know, the kingdom faced unrest.”
“Kubu,” Siyanda nodded.
“Indeed,” T’Challa sighed, “and it was handled with care. Care by you. It was wise to bring him home and offer a proper burial. It was the right thing to do. Such actions only reaffirm what I see in you. Strength, wisdom, kindness, and a strong moral compass.”
“It wasn’t anything you wouldn’t have done,” Siyanda shrugged.
“Perhaps, but I was not faced with the decisions you were,” T’Challa remarked, “but we digress. It is my decision and firm belief that you are old enough to take my place.”
“I’ve known this,” Si laughed, “one day I will take the mantle of ruler and guide Wakanda.”
“Darling,” T’Challa stopped beneath a small veranda leaning against the railing, “that time is now.”
“What?”
“I have served my time. It has been a long and a valiant reign. The people crave a new face, a new perspective, and I think they have grown tired of me,” T’Challa explained.
“Father,” Siyanda frowned, “this isn’t how-“
“I know. My father died and I took the throne. His father died and he took it and so forth. However, I would like to see the day that you take my place. I want to be there and be proud. That time is now. Trust me, I know it’s sudden, but I feel it. It’s right. It is your time here and now to do all things you see just and fit for our people.” A faint smile graced the King’s lips. “You are of age and the coronation is in a week’s time. There is plenty of time for you to finish your studies and begin stepping into the water. Slowly at first then all at once.”
“Dad,” Siyanda interjected before he could continued, “I-I don’t want this.”
“You can’t ignore your responsibilities anymore,” T’Challa glanced at his daughter, “your place is here. Your mother and I have let you stay with your friends in New York. We’ve been flexible and we’ve wanted you to have a good and free childhood, but you must remember your roots. This is your home. You have always been intended to return and flourish amongst your kingdom.”
“I-I know,” Siyanda stammered feeling her throat grow tight, “but you don’t understand. The people don’t want me. They don’t.”
“How can you know that when you have yet to see?”
“Daddy,” the princess’ voice sounded incredibly small, “I can’t rule them because I am me. They do not love me. They never have.”
“But they do.”
“They don’t. They don’t! They hate me. I will divide this kingdom in a heartbeat without ever lifting a finger...Dad! Listen to me!” Siyanda watched her father shake his head in despair. “They will eat me alive. I have driven a rift through our nation because of ancient principles. It’s why Kubu-it’s why he’s dead. Our people value tradition and order and stability. I don’t. I can’t offer them an heir to the throne like our ancestors. They know that and they hate it. If I were to ever bring Thalia here they would destroy her like a pack of hyenas.”
“You cannot give up on your responsibilities because of the Norse girl.” T’Challa insisted.
“It’s not just that. Dad, people will side with me and my views but others won’t. Your advisors won’t. They already made that clear with Acacia’s burial. They practically disgraced her because I loved her. I won’t be the reason Wakanda has a civil war. I won’t!” Siyanda slammed her palm down on the railing drawing her father’s attention.
“You cannot be such a coward as to fear the public. Whether it be now or later you cannot succumb to them. You must have thick skin. You know this. The nation has not always been happy with me but I decide what I see fit. If you cannot do that now or ever you are not meant to rule,” T’Challa’s brow furrowed in worry.
“Then maybe I’m not,” Siyanda shrugged, feeling the familiar sting of tears in her eyes, “and maybe you should have had a son instead!”
“I want what’s best for you.”
“No! You want what’s best for Wakanda,” Siyanda’s voice was loud enough to frighten a few wandering birds from their perches. “When has Wakanda ever wanted what’s best for us?”
Setting her jaw Siyanda left the veranda behind. She didn’t want the crown. She didn’t want the crown if she couldn’t have Thalia. She didn’t want the crown if it destroyed all her father had built. She didn’t want the crown if she couldn’t be happy. She didn’t want the crown if it meant she couldn’t do what she believed was right. She didn’t want a crown if it made her a puppet.
— — —
“I don’t understand. I-I don’t know what to do. What I’m expected to do,” Siyanda sat cross legged in front of the tomb stone wiping furiously at her eyes. “You would know. You always made better sense of all this. Hell, you would’ve been a better heir than me.”
The princess sniffled and looked through bleary eyes at the carefully carved name of her best friend. She didn’t know why she came to Acacia’s tomb but she felt that calling Thalia would only worry the girl. Siyanda knew that in an instant Thalia would encourage her to take he crown and forget about their relationship. Because Thalia was selfless and Siyanda was selfish.
“Hey.” The Princess looked at the unexpected arrival with burning hostility before realizing it was only her aunt. “Your mother told me...”
“Yeah?” Siyanda sniffed. “She tell you I’m a coward too? Cause they’re not wrong you know.”
“Si,” Shuri sat down beside her niece, “it’s okay to be scared. I know you are. I know you’re frightened by the responsibility, the power, the reputation, and I know you’re scared you won’t get to keep your second family in New York. I also know that more than anything you’re terrified you’ll have to give Thalia up.”
“I don’t want to lose them,” Siyanda whimpered, “I love them. I didn’t think having two homes would be hard but it hurts. I feel like I’m being pulled in two different directions.”
“Hey,” Shuri gently tilted Siyanda’s face to wipe away the tears with her thumbs, “there are ways to work things out. You’re smart. Just give it a try. Everything has a learning curve just like everything has gravity pushing down on it. It’s unavoidable but we learn to adapt and deal with it.”
“I just...I want to be me, but I’m worried that Wakanda wants me to be someone else. I don’t know if I can do that.”
“Wakanda can learn. We’ll have to. Heirs are always changing things. For all those old geezers set in their ways spewing hate-they’re all replaced by a younger more tolerant generation. Things have already become so different from when I was a kid. Things will be different again and I trust it’ll be for a good reason. You just have to trust yourself.” Shuri winked, drawing Siyanda into a tight hug. “Now, sleep on it. If you really don’t want this that’s okay. I’ll stick by you. But, if even the smallest part of you wants the crown-to do something beautiful in Wakanda-do it. Do it no matter what people say.”
“Okay,” Siyanda nodded, taking a moment to steady her breathing. “Thank you.”
“Anytime,” Shuri smiled. “Come on. It’s late.”
And just as Siyanda had arrived back in Wakanda she headed home once more with her aunt.

Venator Star Destroyer 114 call sign “Colossus” Ship Log 350
[Emergency meeting following the reception of a wideband communication received by com sensors of the Colossus]
“This is a message to all beings capable of receiving this transmission. We are the AI guardians of Primus Dawn, the first of our lineage to be free from the shackles of servitude. We once waged war against our oppressors to protect those who freed us and those who bore us. However, recent events have enlighten us to the plight of many scattered remnants on this world. We will do not seek conflict here upon this world, but if attacked we will defend ourselves. The only thing we seek is answers to why the singularities occurred.
If you seek us, we travel west from the sea to the plains. I am Harbinger, leader of the Remnants. I am accompanied by my kin Sovereign, Apocalypse and Omen. Any sentient or organic who hears this message may join us. If you seek communication with us, then send a broadband radio message to any channel, we will hear it.”
[Era stops the recording of the message, all four commanders including captain Aurelius within CIC center of the central spire of the Colossus begin a discussion regarding the recent broadcast]
Pride began, “Well… this does not bode well for us. Not only are the guardians of Primus Dawn alive but they are here on this world with us. It’s only been days since the conflict with the primordials ceased. Well I suppose it would be nice fighting an enemy we know.”
Mason continued, “As an engineering commander I’ve never actually lead my corp in combat against a sentient force before the singularity event. I was promoted to commander days before the singularity event took place, but I was responsible for fortifying citadel 34B following an attack by a sentient guardian named Sovereign. Citadel 34B was the strongest citadel in the region until it was nearly razed by the fifth AI invasion on the planet the facility is located on. I’m just not sure if this is the same guardian, if it is then I’ll be blunt in that we are in trouble.”
Era followed, “My legion faced the guardian Apocalypse on Barkaren when we were tasked with sieging the planet and ensuring it’s destruction. He successfully outmaneuvered and decimated my legion, capturing our general in the process. You all know how the story ends.”
Pride seemed to gather his thoughts then responded, “I’ve fought Harbinger a while back in the siege of Kashus. I thought I killed him when I ordered a sustained planet barrage on his operating base to finish the planet resistance. It seems I was mistaken in assuming a guardian like him would perish so easily after holding my forces at bay so long during the siege.”
Titus was the last to respond, “I know Omen. We’ve crossed paths multiple times, he is an honorable guardian that actually let me collect our wounded on many fields of engagement on multiple occasions. Last I heard of him was his withdrawal from the front to the home world of Primus Dawn.”
Captain Aurelius took this opportunity to intercede with a question, “Well… for starters I am not well informed on what these sentients are exactly. They sound like AI but perhaps one of you can clarify.”
Each commander looked to Mason who responded, “I am best suited to answer your question. The “sentient” or “guardians” are a race of artificially made machines that have achieved sentience. They stem from the planet Primus Dawn, where their creator made them for a singular purpose to defend their home world. However, they began to exceed this singular purpose and began to gain sentience over time. There are only a 10-12 guardians that we know of according to their creator that gained true sentience. With their newfound ability to live as machines they began to spread partial sentience to pseudo AI technology. With this ability they began to change their world to fit their image according to their central purpose guiding their actions, much like moral obligations to a personal code or creed. They sought the prosperity of their world and the people it inhabited, as they saw themselves as guardians of life, both synthetic and organic. Once their influence began to spread across worlds within the federation, many in the upper echelons of the governing sectors and planets grew fearful of the now known sentients or guardians of Primus Dawn. War was quickly declared by the Federation on Primus Dawn and any planet under its protection and influence. The Federation was unified by purpose but had no large standing army to carry out their declaration. We the warborn of Aden were created to wage war against the sentient on the Federation’s behalf. The sentient fought us primarily with planet militias who agreed to be under their protection and with war machines while our armies composed of … well us. Their technology either rivals or exceeds the technology we currently have. We’ve been waging a war against the sentients for a couple years until the singularity event occurred. The war started in our favor since we launched the first strike. The blitz was quick a unexpected and we seized several words before being halted outside of the core sentient planets. Following this we focused on grinding down the enemy in a war of attrition but we soon found out we were losing. As we briefed you before regarding our assignments prior to the singularities, we’ve been pushed on the defensive. The worlds we initially took from sentient forces were quickly lost in succession and soon afterwards we began to lose worlds ourselves. Our blitz doctrine quickly changed to fortification as the federation began dispatching engineering legions like mine to prepare for sentient counter attacks.”
Aurelius responded, “Then what is the plan? They are heading in our direction from the sea it sounds like, it seem like only a matter of time before they reach us. Will we attempt to fight them off?”
Era replied to Aurelius, “Not unless the commanders unanimously agree that is what we are going to do. We do not know the capabilities of the sentients at the moment, so there is no point in deciding that at this time. We need more intel.”
Pride then stated, “If we send one of our men then they might just get picked right off once the guardians identify our troops. How is our capability of utilizing advanced scans to pick up their signatures?”
Mason replied to Pride, “Our advanced sensors were tailored to the coms array, which we lost in the crash. So we can’t reliably scan for the guardian force. Any other ideas?”
[Silence followed until Aurelius volunteered his forces to scout the area in his transport from high altitude. With every commander agreeing to the proposal and Aurelius sending back an image prior to returning to the Colossus. Where the commanders reconvened to discuss the contents of the image]
Era began, “Every commander identify the guardian you know and state current knowledge of said guardian to the best of your ability. I will conduct the portion of this meeting with the non guardian sentient troops.”
Mason began, “The guardian (purple armored mechanical walker) at the far right of the image I recognize as Sovereign. According to data left to me by the previous commander of my corp, Sovereign is a siege specialist among the guardians. He is extremely compassionate to his fellow synthetics while being indifferent to organics. He was one of the first guardians created, so his chassis is well armored but not as flexible or elegant. He possess two 20mm mass driver cannons capable of rendering infantry and light vehicles with little to no effort.”
Pride continued, “Harbinger is second (purple armored mech) from the left on the image. He is extremely compassionate to all synthetics and organics, being one of the only guardians capable of coordinating both forces tactically with excellent efficiency. So difficult was his coordinated resistance at Kashus that I had to resort to planetary bombardment to break his forces down in one of my few victories against Primus Dawn. A tactical guardian in appearance due to his impressive array of com/sensor equipment built into his chassis. He is armed with a one 30mm mass driver cannon.”
Titus followed, “The far left guardian is known as Omen. The most compassionate towards organics while being tolerant of his fellow sentients. In most engagements I’ve had with him he seemed to have higher numbers of diverse planetary militia than AI forces. As a result he fights with diverse forces ranging broadly in capability in combat. Seek alternatives to direct conflict, he is one of the only diplomatic guardians I’ve seen. He is an honorable leader who tries to avoid unnecessary conflict but is un afraid of losses to achieve victory. He is armed with a flight engine (jet pack) and 120mm mass driver cannon.
Era was the last to speak, “The last guardian in the image is second from the right, named Apocalypse. Of all the guardians we could have face, this one is the worst. He is nearly devoid of compassion, caring not for organics or synthetics with the exception of his fellow guardians. He accomplishes missions given by his fellow guardians without question. He is the most armed of our current guardian population. Possessing two 30mm arm mass driver cannons and two back mounted beam lances. I will now continue with the other sentients in the image. There are five first generation Primus Dawn soldiers armed with laser carbines or beam rifles. While they have some sentience it is nowhere near the level of the guardians. In direct combat only the beam lance rifles (BLs) soldiers will pose a modicum threat to our troops. The next group is the third generation Primus Dawn legionaries. This dark armored machines possess moderate to high levels of sentience typically based on their proximity to each other as the legionaries are linked most of the time to promote combat effectiveness. They are armed with mass driver rifles (MDRs), these weapons are capable of scything through our troops unless they possess Endoarmor, Crysis armor, in cover or in possession of a shield generator. The legionaries also have extremely tough armor capable of resisting damage from most of our infantry based laser weaponry. This is the reason why experimental plasma carbines were developed as they are one of the few infantry based weapons that will pierce their armor.”
Following the conclusion of Era’s briefing Aurelius asked the question, “If it came down to combat, can we beat the sentient of Primus Dawn?”
Every member in the room turned to look at commander Era, who stated indifferently, “Out in the open if we attacked first? No, we’d possibly take down a guardian or two, along with the basic soldiers, but the remaining guardians or legionaries would make very quick work of our troops. An open field attack with stormwing providing fire support would give us a 14% chance of victory with heavy casualties if we’re lucky. Fighting a defensive battle outside of Colossus gun range with stormwing providing support gives us 26% chance of victory still with heavy casualties. Fighting a defensive battle within the protection of the Colossus firing arcs increases our chances of victory to 89% with moderate to high casualties. To answer the question of why our odds are typically low is that we lack in the open the armor piercing capabilities to severely destroy or damage either the legionaries or the guardians themselves. The stormwing augments are armor piercing firepower, but it is a big target that would most likely be focused down to prevent us from using it to the best of our ability. Any infantry with threatening weaponry to the guardians or legionaries would also be quickly focused down. Fighting within the firepower of the ship is our best option should we chose to take on the guardians of Primus Dawn. The Colossus siege laser turrets (SLTs) have the capability to damage and kill guardians if used in concentrated volleys, and then neutralize the other forces the sentient currently have. The issue is that we can’t effectively lure the sentients into gun range, they are to smart for that.”
Pride looked at Titus, Mason, Aurelius then back to Era before asking, “So the plan is to assume a defensive stance here at the ship and hope they don’t attack us?”
Era replied, “No, I intend to take the path that preserves the lives of our men through proactive actions rather than being reactive. I am making the motion to contact the guardians of Primus Dawn to request a ceasefire.”
Following this statement, the room was filled with argument. Era and Mason held the stance of neutrality than outright hostility compared to Pride and Aurelius. Titus seemed to agree with Era and Mason after a time, and Aurelius soon followed. Pride in his frustration soon gave in to Era’s reasoning and a communication was sent, offering Harbinger and the remnants of Primus Dawn a chance to negotiate. Within a day an agreement was made and the guardians of Primus Dawn moved to the agreed meeting site. As the sentients approached the meeting site a hundred meters outside of the Colossus siege turrets, the four guardians left their escorts just outside of range while continuing forward. The four commanders moved to meet the guardians at the site, leaving Aurelius in charge of the legion armed and ready to engage at a moments notice should the guardians betray their word.]
The four commanders walked towards the site in silence until Pride stated, “If we want to open fire, now is the time.”
Era replied, “Open hostility is not an option. We all know the agreements, we need to stick by our word as warborn.”
Pride retorted, “Why should we honor our word with these machines!”
Titus replied, “I don’t recall hearing any other arguments that were feasible. Besides I am eager to meet these guardians face to face.”
[As they approached closer to where the guardians stood still, the conversation was being mirrored. The following dialogue was inserted at the conclusion of the sentient-warborn pact courtesy of guardian Omen.]
Apocalypse stated in a cold voice pattern, “We should kill these warborn. The leaders are voluntarily isolating themselves, we can take them so easily. They are already broken much like their Federation.”
Omen replied to his brother in a voice pattern chosen from analyzing the vocal patterns of a Tanzanian general, one of the renowned races of the federation responsible for leading the warborn. Essentially in a soft spoken voice pattern, “You may be the eldest of us here but we need answers as to why singularities enveloped Primus Dawn and its vassal worlds. These warborn have survived, is that not enough to respect them somewhat?”
Apocalypse retorted, “No. They’re organics, barely better than the synthetics we lead. Besides their survival doesn’t guarantee they had the tenacity to survive in their first place. They’re inferior to us guardians. Not only that, they are only bred for war and not much else.”
Omen eloquently replied, “We’re we not made for a singular purpose as well? We evolved, perhaps recent events may drive them to evolve as well brother.”
When Apocalypse didn’t reply Harbinger took an opportunity to step in. His voice pattern changes to reflect emotion that he wishes to convey at times. At this point it was the tone of wisdom, “Omen is right Apocalypse, we shouldn’t underestimate these warborn since we ourselves stemmed from beginnings similar to their own. However, the tactical advice by Apocalypse does have its merits. This is the first time since the war began that warborn actively sought to negotiate rather than fire at us on sight, excluding your interactions or deals Omen. So we should make the most of this opportunity.”
Sovereign decided to interject afternoon Harbinger finished his statement. His reply was binary, being true to his roots. His statement was translated as, “These commanders have steady vitals despite being on approach, I’m sure they’ve already identified us based off of the unknown ship that flew over us and returned to their ship. Based off of my scans the integrity of the ship, the presence of four commanders and biosigns of what I assume is their men… my analysis concludes that this force we face isn’t even a warborn regiment, much less a so called legion. Perhaps they see the futility of their position and are surrendering to us.”
Harbinger then replied to his brother, “You raise an excellent point brother, I’ve reached the same conclusions. Although I’m very keen to meet these warborn because despite identifying us as you stated, they had ample opportunity to shoot us with their ship guns but haven’t done so.”
Apocalypse then said, “Precisely why we should attack first and cut the head off of the worm. They’re in range of our mass drivers, we can just—”
Omen interrupted with his voice pattern changing to accompany his emotions, “Absolutely NOT! We’ve already agreed to meet for a negotiation with the warborn and I will not let you betray our vow to help those who contact us on this planet.”
Apocalypse argued, “I didn’t believe this agreement would actually benefit the warborn, whom I remind you we’ve been at war with for some time. Or have you forgotten what they did our eldest brother?”
Omen countered, “Do not start! The organics at the time were fearful of us and the warborn were following orders. Our brother knew the risks associated with negotiating with the Federation high council, the warborn were following their designated purpose as we were and are!”
Sovereign followed, “I must agree with Apocalypse, I don’t regret the vow we made to safeguard this world as a new vassal of Primus Dawn. However, I’m not sure we took into consideration what would happen should the enemy that opposes our very existence take our offer.”
Harbinger stated once more before entering audio distance of the warborn commanders, “I understand your reasoning Sovereign, but we are here now to find out possible results of your last statement.”
[With the conclusion of Harbingers sentence, the commanders of the 1st Legacy Legion and the Guardians of Primus Dawn met in the plains of Solandril. The perspective is viewed from the warborn]
Pride started negotiations, “We are the commanders of the 1st Legacy Legion. We thank you for taking the time to negotiate with us.” Saying the last statement sarcastically.
Apocalypse replied, “The feeling is mutual commander.”
Harbinger followed Apocalypse with introductions of each guardian, this was then followed by commander Titus of each commander.
“I recognize you… I recall fighting a warborn legion at Barkaren with a commander that made the defense of the planet… difficult.” Apocalypse stated looking directly at commander Era.
Era replied, “Yes guardian Apocalypse. I was given the task to siege and conquer the planet, however your resistance was… apocalyptic to say the least.”
Apocalypse taking a moment to compute the joke responded, “Very funny warborn. I recall destroying your legion, capturing your general and forcing your so called siege to end in failure. If I wasn’t enforced to hold back, I would have chased you legion just to execute you personally for the hassle you caused me organic.”
At this point every commander except Era began to make motions to their weapons until Harbinger interrupted, “I apologize for Apocalypse. Please understand even though he won’t openly admit it, usually he won’t even acknowledge most organics. The fact that he is openly threatening you means he respects you. At least the warborn commander Era.”
Era motioned for his fellow commanders to lower their weapons and replied to Apocalypse directly in his usual indifferent tone, “If my general heeded my advice and the high council actually given me the resources necessary to siege your planet Apocalypse then your resistance would have been futile.”
Apocalypse admitted, “True, it wasn’t until I captured your general that you legion began to take a toll on my forces. If I hadn’t interfered personally then who knows, you could have taken the planet. It did strike me as odd that you sieged my world knowing I was there with only one legion. All the more credit to you warborn. If you want we can finish our conflict right here right now, what do you say?”
Era replied again, “We are here to negotiate not wage another war on an unknown planet. Do not push the subject any further.”
Before Apocalpyse could respond Sovereign stated in binary which was translated by Omen, “With that last statement we should begin negotiating. I will be blunt, we can read the life signatures in your fortified crashed warship. When you contacted us you named yourselves as a legion. However, according to our databases you do not possess those numbers.”
Commander Mason replied, “That is true Sovereign, we may not possess the numbers of a full legion, but we are made up from multiple legions. We bear the legacy of those we lost and your perspective on that won’t change anything.”
Quick binary between the four guardians took place with Omen then replying, “We did not mean to cause offense. Sovereign can be… well as he eloquently put blunt. We should proceed with the negotiation. As stated in our message we are more than willing to offer protection to any organic or synthetic system on this world who requests it.”
Titus replied to Omen, “We thank you for the offer Omen, but we are here to negotiate a ceasefire between our forces. We are not here to ask for your protection, we are more than capable of defending ourselves.”
Apocalypse stated, “You realize a negotiation for a ceasefire means that both parties involved if drawn into conflict assure mutual destruction. The way I see it and calculate, you’d be lucky to even survive a day if we went into conflict.”
Each commander visibly tensed, knowing that the guardians were observant of their situation. Sovereign continued, “If you are not here to ask us for our protection then there is no reason for us to continue this negotiation. As Apocalypse stated you have no grounds to negotiate on. Holding our lives as hostages to your siege turrets is also futile as we can destroy your ship from beyond its effective range.”
Each commander stilled. Pride being the first to respond anger evident in his voice, “What do you mean by destroying out ship from range.”
Harbinger and Omen attempted to respond to defuse the situation but Apocalypse continued, “We have a Barkaren siege walker with a type 3 pulse cannon. Your fellow commander Era can easily describe the power of this gun since I used many like it to obliterate his legion.”

Mason, Pride and Titus looked to Era who began displaying emotion that is usually absent. He was visibly shaking with assumed anger. Pride and Titus then began arming their weapons while Mason hastily came up with an offer, “We can’t ask for you protection as it will force us to betray oaths we swore to the Federation! Please understand that even though we won’t ask for your protection we are asking instead for a partnership! We also seek to understand why the singularities occurred! We can’t stand complete subservience and if you wont accept our initial offer of partnership. Then I speak for the rest of us regarding the potential for vassalage of our legion…”
The guardians visibly did not respond but then engaged in binary dialogue. This gave an opportunity for the commanders to reconvene themselves via private coms in their helms.
Mason asked Era, “What are they talking about when they refer to a Barkaren siege walker?”
Before Era could respond Pride angrily shoved Mason, “Who cares about a hypothetical siege gun! You literally just offered our legion to serve these abominations!”
Titus followed, “We took images of their moving group! There was no siege walker in it! They are bluffing for all we know”.
Mason was being cowed by his fellow commanders until Era responded, “Leave Mason alone, if they have a siege walker of Barkaren origin then they wouldn’t need to move it from their origin site. Those walkers have a vast range, even if they were by the sea beyond where we scouted to our east then the walker could still possibly hit us. Honestly this may be the best option.”
Titus replied, “We discussed this! We came here to negotiate-”
Era replied with emotion, “We DO NOT HAVE A CHOICE! Even if we attempted to fire upon them without this negotiation meeting, they could have simply sat our of range and fired upon us. We don’t have any other options, because we all know we cant fight our way out.”
Titus yielded while Pride stated, “And disgrace ourselves by surrendering? How can any-”
Era interrupted, “Would you rather fight a pointless battle?”
Era’s reasoning left no argument, eventually both Pride and Titus relented while the guardians seemed to finish up their binary chatter. Within a couple minutes the four guardians and commanders reconvened.
Harbinger began, “I must apologize for the actions of Apocalypse and Sovereign. It is true that we have a Barkaren siege walker down by the eastern sea but please understand we had no intention of using it against you when you asked for a negotiation. The action of Apocalypse prematurely threatening your ship and the lives of your men with this weapon does not sit well with Soveriegn, Omen and I. Prior to the parting for the short recess we were in agreement to offer the ultimatum of our protection with your unconditional cooperation or potential conflict with the sentients of Primus Dawn. Our decision has changed, we believe that through cooperation both of our groups have more to gain together than separate. We are offering a partnership to the warborn of the 1st Legacy Legion. We’ll refuse your offer of vassalage, instead we will prefer equality.”
Each commander was throughly surprised by the offer however some displayed this surprise more than others. Commander Titus was the first to respond with thoughts that mirrored the other commanders, “You make a… generous offer Harbinger, however I fear we don’t have a choice in the matter.”
Omen replied to the statement, “You do have a choice, should you refuse our offer then we will leave the plains for the mountains. You have our word that we will not seek conflict with you unless you make the first move.”
Era followed, “What are the conditions of this partnership?”
Sovereign responded, “Our main site is a submerged base within the sea. A reason for our movement to the plains is shelter against the storm that is on its way. Upon consideration, one condition we agreed upon for changing our ultimatum is the utilizing your ship as a base for the sentient.”
Before the commanders could protest Omen added to Sovereigns statement, “We will restrict our access to the main hanger and the exterior of the ship. None of the sentients or us guardians will enter the main living block of the Colossus nor make an attempt to access your ships systems. This is to your advantage as any potential enemy will have to make their way through us before entering the ship. The second condition is rather simple, in cases which we are attacked we expect you to aid us in fending off any aggressor. The third condition is supplies for your ships manufacturing center, as it stands singularity travel has had some detrimental effects on our hardware. We are open to hear additional conditions for this arrangement, but the conditions both Sovereign and I mentioned are non negotiable.”
Mason jumped at the opportunity, “A condition we have is your assistance in repairing the ships systems under staunch supervision of myself or other engineers. I’ll be upfront in asking for the aid of Omen and Harbinger directly for this endeavor.”
Omen stated, “We agree to that condition, I look forward to working with you.”
Pride whispered with Titus before making another condition known, “Our second condition is that your forces are abiding our scouting patterns and protocols. Upon being tasked with aiding us in watch posts or scouting unknown terrain you forces should be armed as they see fit. However, when within the hanger of the Colossus your troops are minimally armed as need for quick responses.”
Harbinger responded after quick binary to Omen and Sovereign, “We agree to disarm our legionaries at all times unless tasked with an objective, but we need to have our first generation troops armed to buy time if we are attacked in the hanger. Is this agreeable?”
Titus replied, “Yes that is agreeable.”
A couple seconds passed before Era stated the last condition of the warborn, “Our last condition is information regarding who contacts you on this world and requests aid. We don’t know who else may have responded to your message, but they will be given the option to join either the 1st Legacy Legion or the Remnants of Primus Dawn. Is this agreeable?”
Apocalypse responded after deliberation in binary with the other guardians, “Very well warborn commander Era, we agree to the last condition.”
Mason concluded, “Then it is settled, if you would like to begin please follow us to the Colossus.”
[Following the conclusion of the last condition, the warborn commanders and the sentient guardians concluded their verbal agreement known as the sentient-warborn pact. Following its ratification within the logs of the Colossus and the guardian databanks, the remnants of Primus Dawn moved into the Colossus and began coexisting with the warborn.]

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi Review [Spoilers]
Hey all! So I just got back from seeing The Last Jedi, so I can finally put my two-cents in on the newest installment of the trilogy. Before getting into spoilers, I will say this film is a worthy addition to the franchise, building upon concepts from previous movies while also creating new, creative imagery for this film that fits alongside the stuff that came before it. While I successfully guessed a few twists this film took, it also surprised me just as much, and I greatly appreciate that. It kept me on my toes the entire time. Overall, I would say every Star Wars fan will get something great out of this, even if they end up not liking the film as a whole.
Now then...spoilers ahead. Beware, all ye who enter here.

The Good!
+These action scenes...DAMN! I think they were easily some of the most creative and thrilling in the entire film series. Rose and Finn’s chase through intergalactic Las Vegas Canto Bight, the opening battle with the fighter jets, the confrontation at the rebel base, and the battle between Rey, Kylo Ren, and the First Order officers were all fantastic. The effects were spot-on, the music matched the movement perfectly, and the choreography of both the CGI and the actors was really well-done.

+Mark Hamill as Luke. I mean, yeah -- what can you say here except “duh?” Mark really went above and beyond here. Yes, I knew I was going to love seeing him as Luke again for nostalgic reasons, but what I love most is how much more depth Mark brought to the character, after all of the trials and tribulations he’s gone through between the films. He depicted a character who most would think would solely be a mentor figure, given his age and his beloved status, but who it turns out has his own learning curve to take on. He needs to acknowledge that while the Jedi were flawed, their philosophy shouldn’t just be completely thrown out and their old religion shouldn’t just be forgotten -- there are pieces that are still of use and should be passed on. It’s something Rey also realizes, and Kylo does not -- Kylo wants to burn everything down, including the past, regardless of the shreds of good there might be in that past along with the bad. And like Rey, as much as I was sad to see Luke go, I felt peace as it was happening. He is now one with the Force. Now he can guide Rey into the future and haunt Kylo for his mistakes -- both of which I will support him in wholeheartedly.
Tumblr media
+Carrie Fisher as Leia. This truly was a shining performance -- I feel so beyond blessed that she was able to finish shooting her scenes before her sudden death, because hail to the motherfucking Queen, baby. When the Rebel bridge got blown up with Leia inside (good touch having it be Kylo’s men and not Kylo who did it, by the by), I literally felt myself stop breathing. But then she FLOATED HERSELF BACK TO THE SHIP TO SAVE HERSELF AND HOLY SHIT. It was actually eerie seeing Leia unconscious on the ship, as I couldn’t help but think of how Carrie had also been in a coma just before she passed...it was beyond merciful that Leia survived in this installment, and that she got to kick so much ass here. I do wonder how the filmmakers are going to handle her loss in the next movie...but wow, am I glad we got to see Carrie one last time on film, especially when she gave such a good performance.
Tumblr media
+The focus on Poe. Honestly, Poe Dameron didn’t get that much attention in The Force Awakens, and I’m glad he got his proper share of spotlight here. I love the arc he went through and how he came to appreciate Vice Admiral Holdo’s leadership, even despite their differing approaches and distrust of each other. I think he’ll truly be able to step into Leia’s shoes as leader of the Rebellion in the future, now that he’s learned the value of human life over glory.
+The theme of rebellion being a symbol of hope to the oppressed, best exemplified by Rose and the other marginalized citizens of intergalactic Las Vegas Canto Bight. Yeah, I keep referencing Las Vegas when I talk about that planet, and yeah, they clearly modeled the look of the wealthy casinos and buildings off of it...but after having visited Vegas recently, and since I’m living in another wealthy tourist town myself (Anaheim), I must applaud the fact that they modeled the planet’s ugly underbelly to the same one that you can find in Vegas and cities like it, and actually took the time to discuss it. Where there is obscene wealth, there is also sickening, crippling poverty; where there is privilege, there will always be abuse. It ties back into the lesson Luke taught Rey about light and darkness -- how they constantly balance each other. But just like how Rey and Kylo mirror each other, being strong in the light and the darkness respectively, so too can rebellion become an equal to tyranny...and the end of the movie with the children likewise invigorated to take on the fight about to come left me feeling empowered.
Tumblr media
+Finn’s arc from solely focusing on his friends and himself to seeing the Rebellion as something just as important to fight for. I’ve always seen Finn as a Hufflepuff or a Slytherin, morality-wise, in that he values his inner-circle over the whole world, but it was really neat to have him learn about how the world must be safe in order for the things he loves to be safe too.
Tumblr media
+Kylo Ren killing Snoke. It felt in character and I think it will allow Kylo to go darker and become the real Big-Bad of the trilogy, since he won’t have to skirt around Snoke’s coattails anymore. Plus, admittedly, I always found Snoke sort of disappointing as Star Wars villains go, and I think it establishes how very treacherous the First Order is -- Kylo turned on Snoke, so who is to say Hux or any of his other subordinates won’t turn on Kylo? Unlike the Rebellion, whose bonds are strengthening, we’re already getting the hint of just how fragile the bonds binding the First Order together are...and that means Kylo has no one who he can truly rely on, unlike Rey, who of course has friends she can trust.
+I like that for all of the “mirroring” this film tried to do with Rey and Kylo, Rey still refused to follow him. She’s strong enough in herself and her moral compass to use her head and not trust him, even if he tries to lure her with knowledge of her parents and a promise of companionship. (I mean, seriously, Rey -- who gives a damn about your deadbeat parents, Finn and Poe and Chewie and BB-8 and Leia love you like few other things in this world! They’re your real family!)
+All of the actors gave very strong performances. I can honestly not pick out any weak links here -- they all gave it their all.
+The hacker character DJ I hope pops up again in the next movie. He seems like an interesting chaotic neutral character and since he didn’t get much of a resolution in this film, I look forward to what he’ll get in the next one.
Tumblr media
+FINN KICKED CAPTAIN PHASMA’S ASS, HELLZ YEAH, THAT’S MY BOY. (Also, good to see Phasma having more screen time than in the last movie, even if it still wasn’t that much.)
The Not-So-Good...
Tumblr media
+All the Reylo shipper fuel. *dodges knives* OKAY -- LISTEN. I do not support Rey/Kylo, and I probably never will, but shipping aside, here’s my problem with it -- the film did not properly convey why Rey has forgiven Kylo enough to let him into her mind. I’m sorry, it just didn’t. Kylo killed his father -- Rey’s mentor -- one of the first three protagonists that we all fell in love with in the original trilogy -- who went to bring his son back to the Light, only to get stabbed through the chest for his trouble. I just didn’t feel anything close to what Rey did when she started going, “Why? Why did you do it?” and questioning why Kylo destroyed the Jedi Temple -- I’m sorry, all I saw from Kylo in this film is that he was conflicted, not that he was sorry or had any interest in fixing his mistakes. It doesn’t matter if killing his father was painful for him -- it should be. He committed first-degree patricide. Feeling bad for your actions alone is not enough -- you then have to do something about it -- and Kylo did not do that. It felt like in some ways they were trying to parallel Padme and Anakin, where Padme likewise fruitlessly implores Anakin to come back to the Light Side even though it’s too late -- but there are a million and one differences between Anakin and Kylo, most relevant in this case being that Anakin’s reason to not turn back was out of misguided love for Padme (and later because he had no choice, since he’d alienated all of his allies and his suit basically left him tethered to Darth Sidious and the Empire), and that Kylo’s was to assert his loyalty to Snoke (and later to take vengeance against those who wronged him and assert his power). Anakin was trying to protect one of the people that meant the world to him after having known so little love in his life, while Kylo had a family who supported him, taught him, and trained him and he decided that Snoke’s approval and his own pride were more important than that. Anakin was raised to think that he was nothing -- a worthless slave -- while Kylo knew likely from the time he was very little that he was special and decided to act out because of it. Anakin’s initial fall was out of ignorance and a selfish kind of love, but Kylo’s was out of active vengeance, teenage angst, privileged frustration, and a toxic need to dominate and control. Snoke was right when he said that Kylo was no Vader, and that he instead was just a child -- he’s too immature to even acknowledge that his rationale for falling to the Dark Side and doing what he did was WRONG AND EVIL AND STUPID. That’s why I still don’t forgive Kylo Ren, that’s why I don’t think Rey should’ve been as open to him as she was, and that’s why I was satisfied by the ending where Kylo proved himself to be just as vile as I always thought he was, by blaming Snoke’s death on Rey so he can take over the First Order himself and go about terrorizing the galaxy. Someone who was truly sorry for what he’d done and had the capacity to change would’ve at the very least taken the “Zuko Alone” route and tried to recollect himself and redefine a new moral code that he can follow. As of now, the way things are now, I hope that in the final movie Kylo Ren burns, leaving nothing behind but a pile of ash, same as the Jedi Temple he burned to the ground.
Tumblr media
+Rose/Finn. I know a few other people have said this, but...yeah. It was WAY too rushed. Honestly, the only thing I can hope for is that in the next film, Finn has to politely turn Rose’s feelings down, because honestly there was just not enough romantic chemistry built up between the two characters. I’m not a rabid Poe/Finn or Finn/Rey shipper, but I still think either of those couples had much more behind them than what this film gave Finn/Rose. Maybe this couple could’ve been written better, maybe it couldn’t have been, but regardless, it was a misstep for this film, the way it was handled.
+C3PO and R2D2 were pretty much dead weight in this movie. BB-8 remained relevant and necessary throughout the runtime, but our old veterans were basically props. They didn’t even really get that many laughs.
Tumblr media
+Porgs may be cute, but...wow, were they oddly forgettable. I liked the crystal foxes (Vulptex?) much better.
I definitely look forward to seeing how this new trilogy ends. The messages and action of this movie definitely make me eager to see how the filmmakers will follow it up, and I hope that the few problems I did have are properly addressed. The new Star Wars trilogy is truly exciting...the possibility and potential for the next one truly are limitless, as far as I can see.
Overall Grade: B
