Hello, I want to say that I enjoy reading Lore Rekindled. I used to try and get into Lore Olympus back when it was starting, because I'm a huge Mythology Nerd, especially when it comes to Greek. But, even though the comic had so much potential, I really hated it. The art style was very inconsistent and messy. Like I see why it was appealing because it was striking and unique for the time on Webtoon, but it strained my eyes because it was hard to tell who was who half the time. The writing was all over the place with so many plot's that were supposedly to exist but were either settled in an anti-climatic way or just never were addressed at all. And the characters... by gosh, they act more like fake celebrities' and cardboard cutouts than their actual counterparts. It's so laughable when people say "I can relate to Persephone" like... the girl doesn't have any set traits, she's just a self-insert with no actual flaws! And the fact LO labels itself as a feminist retelling, while it pits women against each other, labels them as objects for men and vilify them for having justifiable concerns... yeah that is a laugh. And I'm not even gonna touch on the Apollo plot... you know the one. But when I heard about Lore Rekindled from Dazzling Kate on Youtube, I decided to check it out because I figured a fan version could not be any worse than what Rachel herself created. And holy Hades, I can see the un-to god effort and care this comic has! This is the complete opposite of LO: it has consistent character models with stunning backgrounds and art, the plotline makes way more sense and is easy to follow with no unnessearcy subplots, and the characters actually have separate personalities! I know Lore Rekindled is still in it's early stages, but already it has shown more promise and potential than what Rachel has created in the last six years! This is why ghost writers and fanfiction have a special place in my heart, because they care more about the stories than the authors themselves! Seriously, what you are doing is incredible! I really hope you continue with Lore Rekindled and I will be following the story because you have sparked my interest! It takes a special kind of talent to turn something that an individual like myself loathes, into a piece of work that I can find joy and entertainment in.
On that note, because I really love your story so far, I wanted to ask your permission on something. I have a YouTube channel, it's a small one but I do a bunch of things there like voice dubs, reviews, theorizes, and writing advice. So if it is alright with you, would it be okay if I could do a review of your Lore Rekindled Series and maybe potentially do a comic dub of the story as well? I'll be sure to credit you, I just want people to see this story that you worked hard on.
Ahhh I'm so glad you like it! Everything you mentioned about LO's missed or lost potential was exactly why I set out to make Rekindled, so it always brings me so much joy when people tell me it connected with them, means I gotta be doing at least something right LOL Though I've had to adjust Rekindled's update schedule to make room for other projects and priorities in my life, there's still loads left with it that I wanna tackle.
If you wanna do a review or any sort of video content with it, by all means! DazzlingKate's review took me by surprise (in a good way) because I had no idea it was happening until someone linked me to it after it was posted haha It's a little nerve-wracking sometimes to see it breach outside of Tumblr, but so far all the occasions of such have been generally fair game without any issues so I don't see why not! ~ <3
Thank you again, I hope Rekindled continues to entertain you and bring you joy ( ´ ∀ `)ノ~ ♡

20 QUESTIONS GAME
Thanks for the tag @jfleamont!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
6.
2. What's your total AO3 words count?
256,418
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Just HP!
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
1. Kindly Stopped for Me – Multi-chapter: Lily lives AU, in progress. 2. This Mad, Mad Love – One-shot: Fluffy Jily love confession. 2,185 words. 3. The Joker and The Queen – Multi-chapter: Jily fake dating, in progress. 4. A Rollercoaster Kind of Rush – One-shot: 6th year Lily realizing her feelings for James. 4,124 words. 5. The Brightest Star in the Sky – One-shot: Post-war Hinny stargazing. 2,293 words.
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes!!! I love comments so much. They give me the encouragement I need to keep writing even when I'm feeling self-doubt or writer's block.❤️
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
As of right now, none of my completed fics have unhappy endings! I guess the closest is The Brightest Star in the Sky because it's post-war so grief is an essential part of the fic. But the story is about Harry and Ginny finding a moment of comfort in the midst of their pain. So...does that count?
My Jily one-shots were written so that I could give myself a break from the heartache of James being dead in Kindly Stopped for Me so they are all mostly happy😅 (although there is some angst in Mosaic Broken Hearts).
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Probably. This Mad, Mad Love. Although I'm just now realizing that several of my one-shots end with love confessions lol. I guess that's something I really wanted to write this year😅
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Occasionally on Kindly Stopped for Me. It hasn't been that bad, compared to what I know other authors have had to deal with, but yeah. I've gotten pretty liberal with the delete button recently, which has been good for my peace of mind, and I might turn off guest comments if this negative trend continues in the future (though I don't want to do that if I don't have to because not all guest comments are negative!)
I write for fun, as a hobby, so I have no time for people who think it's appropriate to leave unsolicited criticism or snarky comments on my work. Writing is an emotionally vulnerable thing to do, sharing writing publicly even more so, and I won't engage with people who don't respect that.
That said, I've been very fortunate in that the vast majority of comments I receive are lovely and encouraging. The Jily community in particular is a wonderful place full of people who have been so nice to me, and I'm constantly amazed by all the people (from the Jily community and beyond) who take the time out of their day to share kindness about my stories!!! Even a simple comment really really means a lot!
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind?
I haven't yet. But I might in the future. Who knows!
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
No. That's just not my thing!
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I don't think so. I hope not!!!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before?
Does the Jilytober Jilyexpress count? Because if so, yes. If not, then no. (but I'm open to it!) 😅
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
I'd definitely say Jily. It's the ship that got me into fanfiction (the first fic I ever read was TLAT!) and it's still my favorite. But Hinny is a very very close second! I love those two ships with my whole heart.
Outside of HP, I'd have to go with Percabeth. I've never read any fanfics (maybe I will someday), but the Percy Jackson books were a huge part of my childhood!
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I don't have one!! I know for a fact that I will finish Kindly Stopped for Me because I have the whole story plotted out and it takes up SO much of my thoughts at all times lol. My (possibly ambitious) goal is to finish it by February 6, 2024 because I posted the first chapter on February 6, 2023😅 But if I'm really productive I could potentially finish it by the end of 2023. We'll see! But it will for sure be finished either way.
As for The Joker and The Queen, I don't have the full plot outlined yet so I don't have a schedule in my mind of when it will be done. But I don't have any doubts that I'll finish it!
16. What are your writing strengths?
I think I'm good at dialogue. That's something that comes naturally to me, maybe in part because I have a lot of theatre experience and have read MANY plays in my life. So dialogue is definitely the most essential part of that!
I also think I'm good at writing angst. It seems to come more naturally than fluff, even though I'm generally happy these days.😂
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Brevity. I know it's the soul of wit, but it is not one of my strengths!!
I wish I could be paid by the word like Charles Dickens. I'd probably be thriving financially if that was my life😂
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I mean...I took French for 7 years in school and then attended university in a bilingual English/French city. So...theoretically I could write some dialogue in French. Maybe? I can read it pretty well, even though I'm still not confident with speaking it. But I'm kind of rusty on it and I don't think I have the confidence to attempt to write creatively in French unless I have a beta reader who is more fluent.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I've only ever written for HP.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
It has to be Kindly Stopped for Me. I'm really enjoying writing it and there are certain chapters that I am VERY excited to share with you all!
Tagging: @joyseuphoria, @suzyq31, @abihastastybeans, and @bronzeagepizzeria!! (I'm not sure who all has been tagged yet, so no pressure whatsoever if you've already been tagged or don't feel like doing this!)

What Tears of the Kingdom Means for the Timeline
(The timeline I made as reference for my major LU+First Hero fanfiction project, I mean, but a lot of it, most of it, applies to canon as well)
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR TOTK AHEAD
---
Surprisingly TotK actuality fits pretty well with the larger Zelda timeline I put together for my Toss Another Stone AU.
I know a lot of fans headcanon Sky as the first king of Hyrule, and I've read some amazing fics where that's the case, but seeing how Skyloft functions and Sky's personality I just couldn't see that happening. So I had Sky and Sun co-founding the surface settlement and the kingdom being established from that settlement generations later and Sky being posthumously named the first king when the monarchy is established.
So Rauru and Sonia being the founders of the kingdom of Hyrule fits extremely well and saves me a lot of work with the half baked backstory I was trying to build for the founding of the kingdom. (It was mostly the names. I am shit at naming things. Luckily Rauru and Sonia have names! Unfortunately the original sages still don't.) Making Sonia be Sky and Sun's descendant makes it fit even better, especially with my headcanon of Hylia being the goddess of time and Sonia's time power.
The game didn't confirm my theory about this being the end of the cycle, but it didn't refute it either and we don't know what effects swallowing a secret stone and having that stone destroyed could have so I'm keeping that the same until a new game refutes it.
My Link OC I've been calling Wraith who I based off of the sealing hand in the trailers we now know is Rauru, can no longer be claimed as canon compliant, which I expected but I'm still reluctant to part with him. Though honestly Wraith's backstory that lead to him becoming a spirit hand is actually very similar to Rauru's so other than the exact timeline placement (Wraith sealed Ganondorf a couple centuries after 10k while Rauru's era is clearly long before 10k since we have no sign of Guardians or Sheikah tech even ignoring the 'founding Hyrule' thing) it doesn't affect events too much, which I'm happy with.
There are two main tangles the backstory of TotK throws into my nicely constructed timeline.
The first, which is less of a tangle and more of a missing detail my brain won't stop chewing on: WHERE IS SONIA AND RAURU'S CHILD?? For Zelda to be their descendant they have to have had at least one kid and we don't get even a hint of their existence. It's easy to see how the developers maybe forgot about this detail with all the *gestures in demon king* you know, and it's easy to imagine they exist outside of the limited scope of the handful of memories we see, but it's something to think about. Also who ruled Hyrule after them? Rauru and Sonia are dead or as good as, and Mineru and Zelda, the only known relatives of them, are ALSO unreachable now. The kingdom must have been a mess after. You ever think of how those poor sages had to deal with the fallout?
The second, bigger tangle:
If this really is the original founding of Hyrule as a kingdom, it would take place before every other game except Skyward Sword, but Rauru seals Ganondorf and Zelda has the sages promise their powers will reawaken when the demon king rises again... but what does this mean for every other time Ganon/Ganondorf rose up as the enemy in another game (which is most of them)?
I can think of two explanations at the moment:
One: This is not the original founding of Hyrule.
It is in fact, a refounding of the kingdom after a time when the kingdom fell and the monarchy dissolved. This is not unheard of in the series, for the kingdom to be defeated or destroyed. In the Adult timeline the kingdom is swallowed by the ocean and destroyed entirely and is refounded later in the timeline. In the Fallen timeline (I haven't played the Adventure of Link yet so lmk if any of this is refuted in that game) There's still technically a princess and a castle at least, but the world is overrun by monsters and the people we see are mostly hiding and fending for themselves. The "kingdom" seems to exist in name only and the monarchy is defunct as a governing entity. Rauru and Sonia could have founded a new kingdom of Hyrule after the Fallen timeline, or during any of the large gaps between games.
Two: Ganondorf had not qualified as the true demon king until now to bring those promises into action.
Anyone who's played Skyward Sword to the end knows of The Bringer of Demise: the literal Demon King that put the entire cursed cycle into motion, and Ganondorf's... predecessor? Creator? Regardless, Demise is certainly responsible for why Ganon just keeps coming back in one form or another. And in TotK, when Ganondorf transforms into the "Demon King Ganondorf", he looks A LOT like how Demise appears in SS. I believe that this Ganondorf is closer to being the demonic god of hatred that started all this than any other prior instance of Ganon. He's more powerful, more obsessed, and had more time to let his hated fester. (So much so that that hated manifested as a writhing semi-sentient mass of malice known as Calamity Ganon, but that's a different topic.) He's become the Demon King on a level prior Ganondorfs simply hadn't achieved.
I think the most likely answer is a combination of both.
I think it makes most sense for Sonia and Rauru's era to be taking place prior to the 10k Calamity but after the three timelines either merge or become synonymous (with botw's and therefore totk's canonical timeline placement being "at the end of all of them"), after an unseen event causes the kingdom to completely collapse and they refound it as a new kingdom and reestablishing the royal lineage of Hylia's blood.
This easily fits within the looseness of the canon timeline and avoids contradictions with having Ganondorf sealed by Rauru while another Ganondorf is running around causing havoc in Ocarina of Time.
I Also think that this Ganondorf DID become a being closer to Demise than a mortal man when he took the secret stone (which, remember, amplifies the power already there, which in this case would be his connection to Demise), his appearance, speech, and powers all reflect that.
TL;DR:
TotK mostly fits well with my headcanon timeline, the main snag being: if Rauru is sealing Ganondorf underground from near the beginning of the canon timeline all the way to the events of TotK, what does that mean for the games that take place between that period where Ganondorf/Ganon appears? I've concluded that Sonia and Rauru are in fact refounding Hyrule in an era after the other games but still long prior to the 10k Calamity, and that the Ganondorf in TotK became something closer to Demise than any other version of himself.

It's super nice of you to lock your fics to make readers less anxious. It's also really nice of you to keep updating works unlocked for readers without accounts. I know that I got an ao3 account because one of the wolfverse fics were archive locked and another fic I was reading was suddenly locked while it was still being updated. I also think that locking fics won't stop them from breaching containment. Hockey RPF has already had a user copy locked fics and then swapping them to another fandom as unlocked fics. It really is as easy as that. Lots of people have ao3 accounts and people outside of the fandom can still come into ours and blast our fics all over social media if they wanted to. In fact someone did copy down the top ships on ao3 for Hockey RPF and posted it in the nhl subreddit. Coleydoesthings made a youtube video on top fandoms which included Hockey RPF and SidGeno was one of the top ships and contains one of the most kudos'ed Sports RPF fics. It's already out there on youtube. It's really easy to get an ao3 account. I'm not saying to revert back to unlocking your fics (you can do whatever you want); if I ever publish any fics they'll probably be archive locked. I just think that maintaining the fourth wall is an impossible task and nothing on the internet is private. This isn't meant to scare anyone, but I think we need to realize that we don't have the control over fandom that we think/wish we did, and that we'll be okay. We may have to adapt, and I have no idea what that would be, but archive locking isn't going to be our saving grace. (If only it were that easy)
Second ask:
Adding to previous ask about archive locking because I just remembered something my cousin told me. She has TikTok, and while she is not in hrpf (yet...she wants to read some now that I've talked a bunch about hockey players), she gets tiktoks of people shipping Willy and Mitch using clips of them from games where one is bent over and the other bumps into the other's butt. So while it's not fanfiction the real person shipping is also already on tiktok. And I mean, hockey players do this stuff all the time, so it will likely blow over without brining fanfiction into it. But it's still on tiktok, and that probably is completely separate from hrpf, but it could definitely get tied to it (or attract tiktokers to fanfic and it's really up in the air if they bring fanfics onto tiktok and whether their internet/rpf ethics are anything like hrpf writers). Like, I don't know the future of fanfic privacy. The best we can do is keep it on ao3/tumblr and hope that people don't try to show it to the players (or try to make it go viral on reddit/tiktok).
Hm, there's a lot going on here. I agree with you that online fandom is inherently not private and also that that's okay! There does seem to be a nervousness about the future here that I don't share, though. You mention that HRPF might go viral, or players might find it, and I can see how those things feel unsettling. But the first seems vanishingly unlikely in any meaningful or harmful way, and as for the second, I'm sure most players already know it exists and want nothing to do with it. I think there are two main possibilities for the future of HRPF:
It will stay relatively obscure and the small numbers of people who it appeals to will continue to find it.
It will become slightly more popular and slightly larger numbers of people will start to find it.
There just...isn't a lot of danger here. Either of those outcomes seems fine. The phantom third outcome, where it goes viral in a way that brings a ton of new readers, doesn't seem super likely. It's still only going to appeal to the people it appeals to, and anyone else isn't going to pay attention for very long. But even if we did get a ton of new readers, what's the downside?
I think maybe the underlying fear is that we're doing something forbidden and if we're noticed we'll have to stop. But that's not the case. AO3 exists specifically to remove the danger that content will suddenly be removed when it's found objectionable. So if people find it and get mad, that's about all they can do: get mad. (And leave us some nasty comments, maybe. But now AO3 has a block function!)
It might feel unnerving that people outside of the fandom are talking about it or echoing shipping sentiments, but "the fandom" has never been a self-contained, well-defined space. It's always been open to whoever wanted to find it. To bastardize a Taylor Swift lyric: we're not on our own, kids, and we never have been. So if we get some more fans, great! If we keep about the same amount of fans, also great! If we get smaller for some reason, that's fine, too! Those of us who want to can keep on creating and enjoying the content that speaks to us, and there isn't a lot that can get in the way of that.

Fic data from 2023
Happy new year! This was a big year for me because I got back into reading fanfiction, and boy howdy did I read a lot of it. Over the year I tracked what fics I read got that sweet, sweet data about how much of what I read and when. So now it's time for it to all come together! I put the major stats above the read more line, and below are some other little details about the tags and types of fics. Without further ado, let's get into it!
My goal this year was to read 1000 fics which I realized around June was NOT going to happen. I actually read about 651 fics including re-reads. Not too shabby!
The total words of all the fics I started was 5,196,016 and multiplying by the percent finished (could be >100 for re-reads, or <100 for dnf) I read about 6,214,399 words. So, HOLY BALLS 6.2 MILLION WORDS???? JFC. THATS LIKE 16K EVERY SINGLE DAY. ok i will never again tell myself i didn't read enough this year. Can you imagine if I had hit 1000 fics?
Something else fun about the word count is that the average length was about 1584 words/fic.
My top months by number of fics were February (108 fics), April (88 fics), and March (66 fics). In terms of word count, my top months were February (1.4 million words), January (1.16 million words) and August (804k words).
Keep reading for graphs and data about tags!
Before we get into tags, here's the graphs for the stuff I mentioned earlier. Keep in mind that the first two are about fics I started, not necessarily finished, so the count may vary a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The top three longest fics I read were meet me where the light greets the dark at 115514 words, Subito Sempre at 107053 words, and This Game We Play at 101717 words. Those also happen to be some of my favorite fics of all time.
Here's a graph about the length of the fic I read. "Format of a oneshot" is something that may be multiple chapters but was short enough that it could've been one. Idk this database was built on vibes.
Tumblr media
I know 54% of the authors! Speaking of, there were 208 distinct authors I read from this year. My top author was JynxedOracle at 33 fics!
These are the fics I re-read most:
Tumblr media
OK tag time! Let's start with relationship:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
VegasPete almost had it for a while but KimChay will always be my ride or die. Also, if you can't tell, I basically read almost exclusively KinnPorsche The Series fics. For my top fandom outside of KPTS, that would be MCU, and my top non-KP relationship was SpideyPool. My highest rarepair within KPTS will go to my grave or the groupchat. :*)
My highest read additional tag by a WIDE margin (I'm sorry mother) was porn without plot. (Guess that explains why the average words is so low).
I was gonna post the graphs of all my tags but not only are they a mess, I simply refuse to out myself like that this publicly.
On to Warnings and Rating:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...Don't be ashamed of me, I'm ashamed enough of myself.
Final thing! I met my goodreads goal of 100 books by adding a random book every time I read up to 80k words! My goal for 2024 is to find god and maybe read something other than porn :)
Thanks for reading!

LICHANTONY STAN'S AREEE YOOOUUU READYYY!!
Tumblr media
Written In The Stars
Lichantony fanfiction +18 (Blame Lisandro)
Summary:
It's after the FA game against Reading. Antony gets a text from Lisandro to meet him up outside of the stadium
Antony was one of the last player to leave the dressing rooms at Old Trafford. To his own suprise he had been elected player of the match, his first player of the match award as an Manchester United player. One of many he hoped.
"It was a  good game, no?" Said Malacia. The two of them accompanied each other out of the stadium through the back door that led to the teams parking lot.
"Yeah, the team was really great."
"Yes, but you were outstanding." Malacia smiled. "Player of the match."
Antony chuckled shyly as Malacia nudged his side.
"Do you need a ride home or something?" He asked, pointing to his parked car.
"No it's okay, really "
Malacia shifted his head. The parking lot was empty. "Is someone coming to pick you up?"
"Um..." Antony scratched the back of his head compulsivly. "I dunno, I still got alot of energy from the match I should probably walk home, shake off the extra energy."
"I get it. See you in training tomorrow then."
"Yeah, see you."
Antony watched Malacia get in his car and drive away. He was the only person left in the parking lot now. He reached into his pocket and fished out his phone.
"No new messages." He cursed. Antony thought tonight would be different. That his man of the match award was worth breaking their rules for.
"I guess not." He sighed, angrily putting his phone back in his pocket.
Antony made his way down the road. The walk home would be long, but he'd call one of his friends to come pick him up once he got to the city.
He was upset but he shouldn't be, Lisandro didn't deserve to make him upset. This would be the third time he chose his girlfriend over Antony even though the two of them had made plans.
"Eyo, puta!"
Antony turned around at the drifting sound of a car. It was Lisandro, leaning out of the window of his Mercedes Benz, wearing that silly bukett hat of his.
"Are you trying to get kidnappad or what?" He grinned and pulled up to the sidewalk where Antony stood with hands in his pocket. "You came." He couldn't help but smile.
"Get in before you get a cold."
Antony climbed into the passenger seat as Lisandro hit the gas and drove away.
"You're a fucking tease, I hope you know that. I almost got a ride home with Malacia."
"That fool." Lisandro frowned. He kept one hand on the steering wheel whilst the other fiddle with the radio.
"You're teammates, don't say that." Antony chuckled,  Lisandro always made him laugh the hardest.
"He never stops smiling like a fucking idiot."
"Well, he was kind enough to offer me a ride home unlike you. I thought you were going to stand me up again." Antony said, mumbling the last part.
Silence fell in the car. Music from the radio played in the background but it wasn't loud enough to smother the painful silence.
Lisandro kept his eyes on the road so Antony turned to look out the window in frustration. The lights on the highway passed bye like shooting stars, lightning up their pathway in the night.
"Just take me home Licha." He said, without turning his head away from the window. "I'm not in the mood for anything else."
Lisandro didn't answering but turned the car at the next intersection. They were now driving on a country road, one of many here in Manchester.
"Maybe you were right, maybe this should stop." Antony said after awhile of silence. "I've been able to focus more on training without the distraction. I've got my player of the match reward to prove it."
The car jerked to the left as Lisandro pulled to the side of the road, turning of the engine before he turned to Antony.
"Is that what you want?" He asked, an intensity in his eyes as he searched Antony's face.
"Is that what you want?" Antony fired back, feeling how his heart raised in his chest.
Lisandro leaned back in his seat , his expression conflicted.
"I can't keep up with this." Antony sighed. "I can't keep of with your moods."
"My moods?" Lisandro frowned.
"Yes, your moods. One day you want me and the next day you want her. And the rules of us not being seen together so often after training, It's killing me Licha, it's fucking killing me." Antony balled up his fist but released it along with a deep exhale. "What more is there for me to do for you to want me. How stupid am I to think that this..." Antony pulled out his player of the match award from the backpack at his feet. "...this stupid player of the match award might get your attention and make you want to spend some more time with me. To make you..." Antony was silence by Lisandro who had leaned forward in his seat cupping Antony's face between his hands. "I love you and you know that. You don't need to go out of your way to impress me or get my attention. I am always watching you, during the games and training. Hey, I can't take my eyes of during warm up. You're all I think about Antony, you and me. It's written in the stars."
"Then why are you still with her?" Antony's voice was quiet, a bare whisper. Lisandro's hands withered from his face as the came to rest in Antony's lap instead.
"I told you. " He sighed."I just need more time."
"What if I can't give you that time?"
Lisandro lowered his head and let it knock against Antony's chest, where it stayed until Antony's fingers interwined with his hair. He felt a shiver, Lisandro's body twitching a bit. "I swear." He mumbled, somewhere below Antony's chest. His eyes were glossy once he raised his head to look at him. "I love you more than I've ever loved anyone."
Antony sat back, his hand still tangled up in Lisandro's hair. He went on to caress his right eyebrow, the one with the bandage over the cut in his eye.
"Does it still hurt?"
"Not more than I've hurt you."
Lisandro went to tilt his cheek into the palm of Antony's hand, turning his head to plant a soft kiss against it.
"You never let anything get you down though." He said, continuing to serenate his hand with kisses, moving on to his entire arm by pulling up the sleeve to his jacket. "My player of the match." He said and paused to look at Antony who was staring at him with wide eyes.
Lisandro leaned in carefully, respecting if Antony would still want him to stay away. However he didn't. Instead their lips touched in the middle soon moving on to fill the car with loud smacking noises. Lisandro's hands krept eagerly, pulling down the zipper to Antony's jack and then his jeans. Antony wanted to make Lisandro feel good too, however his affections got nudged away as Lisandro positioned him right where he wanted him.
Antony sat back with his legs spread a bit, Lisandro's slowly going down on him. Antony's head fell back against the headrest as he was pulled out of his pants. Lisandro new just how to please him, enclosing his warm lips around him along with his hands clasped around his stem, sucking the precum of his tip like he was hungry for more.
"God Licha your killing me." Antony moaned.
Lisandro paused to lift his head and look at him.
"You deserve it. My player of the match." His smile was devious and so was the wet kiss against Antony's lips. Antony allowed a hand to rest on Lisandro's head, guiding him down towards his sweet spot.
He was right, Antony thought. The two of them, it was inevitable, written in the stars.

SHIPPER TAG GAME
tagged by @negrowhat
1. What ship were you completely obsessed with when you were a teenager, but now you don't care anymore?
Hmmmm. I wasn’t the biggest shipper as a teenager and all the ships I did obsess over still own my fucking soul. I ship for life.
2. Which ship would you consider your first one?
That’s a toss up between Monica x Chandler (Friends), Mulder x Scully (The X Files), Cory x Topanga (Boy Meets World), and Rick x Evie (The Mummy) I can’t remember which came first because they all were pretty simultaneous.
3. Your first fanfic belonged to which couple?
Romione. Although I remember dabbling in writing fan fiction in a spiral bound notebook at the age of 14, it was always sort of self-insert non-romantic LOTR character building. My first actual fanfiction (reading and/or writing) was Ron x Hermione when I was 19.
4. Do you remember the first couple you saw a fanart over?
100% LOTR… but I don’t remember which pairing. Probably like Frodo x Sam or Legolas x Gimli, but I didn’t get into MM shipping until I was a full blown adult about to finish college.
5. Did you ever get into ship discourse?
Somewhat when I was in the Glee fandom but that fandom was a clusterfuck of ship discourse. I pretty much lived on the corner of fuck off and leave me alone.
6. Did you used to have any no-otp or have it currently?
Maybe? But I didn’t really care too much about looking at anything outside my own ship OR I was a multi-shipper. So I don’t really remember a specific notp. I’m sure there were some though. There was so much trash in the glee fandom, I’m sure I hated something.
7. Who were the couple in the last fanfic you read?
I haven’t touched a fan fic in over 10 years so (I should get a chip!) the last one I read was likely Klaine. Holy shit wtf time has flown.
8. Currently, do you have any OTPs?
Approximately 1.9 billion. Oh you want names? Well Hualian (TGCF), Wangxian (MDZS) and most recently Ranning (2ha) are the top three out of the 1.9 billion. Remember, I collect ships and keep them in my heart for all eternity.
9. Is there any couple that, to this day, you are extremely mad about not getting together?
Sam x Jack (Stargate SG1). It’s somewhat implied but my god I still yearn.
10. Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they are kind of interesting?
I didn’t dislike Cory x Shawn but I didn’t really get it back in the Girl Meets World hay day and it wasn’t even on my radar at all during Boy Meets World. (Remember, I’m old and the internet was not what it is now during my youth so I didn’t even know about the Cory x Shawn ship for literally decades). Sometime after GMW ended and tiktok became popular there was a resurgence of BMW popularity and a lot of CxS analysis that opened my eyes. I enjoy the ship now but I’m still Cory x Topanga 4eva.
11. Do you have any ship that, in the past, was considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?
Tbh not really. I used to be pretty boring. I definitely have some in the present that would though. 🤐
12. What was your favorite crack ship?
There were so many in the Glee fandom but I gotta go with Sebastian x Cooper just because it brought two of my friends together in a RP group and they ended up actually getting married. Ah… memories. I’m gonna tag @believesinponds in this post for the nostalgia.
13. Who is the couple you read more fanfics of?
None. But if I did it would absolutely be wangxian or hualian. Don’t fucking tempt me.
14. What most of your ships usually have in common?
In the past: Canonical.
Now: Canonical and Queer.
15. What do you absolutely hate in a ship?
Im gonna keep was Eboni wrote because it’s spot on: “Miscommunication and the noble idiocy trope.”
I'll tag @believesinponds @linameka @ommited-miscellaneously @ipromisedthesunset @kennyomegasweave @youdontnohme

As someone who ships leon and ashley and enjoys reading/consuming taboo topics and relationships in fiction including incestuous ones, it's so funny to me that I don't see eagleone that way at ALL. theyre one of the relationships i purely enjoy for being a cute wholesome romance and who i want to see thriving and happy (albeit i enjoy the tragic love angle too--) and yet they have a sizable age difference and a "power dynamic" (??????) so it's a "proship"... honestly outside of them both having a daddy kink i really dont want to see that with them!!! Its just not what I'm here for. Im here for that in OTHER ships and this was supposed to be my one good one and this is what happens. Lol.
As such I try to just not care when people accuse eagleone shippers of being weird because Im like... well I suppose I AM...... but it is really unfair for the majority of vanilla ones. Honestly I don't think the antis are secret shippers or secret incestuous shippers (...okay maybe like one or two--) I think they just have a "NOTP" or are scared of how much they relate to ashley as you say and are just making excuses for why they hate seeing fanart of them and blocking people who ship them. I notice this in other fandoms where people will say two characters are "sibling coded" and its just their way of saying they don't ship them. It's really weird frankly and they're basically ignoring canon to write worse fanfiction but that's just how it is these days.
personally, it actually blows me away that people think of Leon and Ashley as being "age gap" at all.
in modern day 2023, Leon is 46. Ashley is 39.
that feels really fucking normal to me in terms of ages for a couple LMAO if any of these dumbasses met a couple like that irl out in the wild today, no one would bat an eye. but that would require these people actually leaving the house, so.
the whole "power imbalance" thing is completely disingenuous, too, because people only look at it in the context of the events of the actual game and then pretend like that's going to be the norm for them forever and not, you know, a very unique, atypical, and extreme situation they're in.
but if anyone were to think about it a little bit as opposed to not at all, they'd realize that their power dynamic would shift once they got home, and then shift again once Ashley's dad is out of office -- and when the power dynamic is constantly changing, that's not exactly imbalanced, is it?
Leon has all of the power during the events of RE4make, and Ashley is wholly dependent on him. yes. that's true.
but once they're out of that combat situation and they're back home in DC, Ashley has literally all of the power in the world over him. she outranks him socially, and she theoretically has the power to make his life complete hell in terms of his career if she were to whisper in her dad's ear the right way.
but the title of "president" is a very temporary one, and once those very short few years are over...? neither Ashley nor Leon are in a position to hold any power over each other at all anymore. they just become two regular-ass people trying to fit into each other's lives.
the whole idea behind "Ashley is completely dependent on Leon in RE4make, which means she will always be completely dependent on him" isn't just based on a faulty premise -- it's also really sexist and gross and reduces Ashley to something less than human, because it assumes that she's incapable of autonomous thought.
and it's really funny how it's only the people who hate the ship that actually are problematic in their thought process. they project their internalized misogyny and sexual insecurities onto us.
I am pretty much as deep in the middle of eagleone fandom as a person can possibly be, and I have never known a single one of you fuckers to ship this ship because you have an age gap kink or because you get off on the power dynamics. the only time power dynamics get brought up is when we make knight/queen comparisons -- which actually gives Ashley the greater portion of power.
I mean, yeah, there is the whole thing where a lot of the fandom also is of a mind that there are some daddy issue kinks at play in the ship, but --
I don't wanna hear shit from people about us enjoying daddy kink between Leon and Ashley when literally the entire fucking RE fandom is out here posting pics of shirtless Leon mods and writing the word "DADDY" in giant fucking text at the bottom of the post. goddamn hypocrites.

i intended to write this as a comment on this https://archiveofourown.org/works/42448821/chapters/110444814?view_adult=true fan fiction (nsfw), but comments are disabled. i’m a fairly private person in regards to erotic content, i don’t like sharing what i enjoy outside of very limited circumstances, but i feel i need to set that aside for a moment in order to praise this. this is one of my favorite fanworks of all time.
let’s set some background so i can formulate my thoughts and also give a proper info. i rarely read fan fiction, only occasionally indulging whenever visual art can’t scratch the itch of enjoying media. guilty gear is a franchise that i, excuse my wording, feel guilty for enjoying due to my lack of participation in the actual fighting game side of it. i’ve been about actively into it for ten months, but i first started looking into it because of bridget’s depiction in strive, as she was transgender, and openly accepted as such by her franchise.
putting the rest under the readmore since this got long
after listening to her theme song a few times i ended up hearing other songs as they came on autoplay, and loved them. passively listened to just the music for a few months before plunging into what the series actually was. i am not good at fighting games. i’ve tried a few, played a few rounds against friends, but ultimately did not stick with them for very long. the way i enjoyed guilty gear was by listening to music, learning about the story, and enjoying fanworks.
as much as i like to pretend that i don’t, i do have an anxiety disorder, and the general culture of media led me to developing the mindset of becoming a ‘poser’ for not actually playing the games. there was a reputation of fans that got into the series because of bridget never playing the game and being looked down on because of that, and i did not want to fall in that crowd. with this factors, i was reserved in my emotional investment for quite some time.
what ended up drawing me out of this shell was meeting people who enjoyed the series, and seeing them enjoying it without hesitation. there was no breakthrough moment of “oh wow! i can just enjoy things without worrying about opinions!”, but rather a gradual build up of confidence in seeing the happiness of others.
do you wanna know the fun part of this? the people i’ve met got into it for various reason, still play the game, and enjoy the franchise as much as me. the only other uniting feature between us is that we’ve all been transgender. guilty gear has cultivated a safe community for transgender people solely through their addition of characters like bridget and testament. don’t think i’ve forgotten about testament, i’ve just only been addressing bridget due to her widespread impact.
i think i’m ready to actually talk about that fanfiction i linked forever ago. go read it if you haven’t, or at least read between the first and second line break. the part that got me wanting to write all of this was two specific paragraphs:
She doesn’t know what to tell this gothic nonbinary transfemme to keep them safe. Maybe spit out some stupid platitudes. Shit advice like, don’t ever write poetry. Don’t ever write song lyrics. Don’t ever write your heart and your trauma and your hope into trans erotic fanfiction; don't do it, it's not worth it.
this first one made my heart ache. it made me realize why comments were disabled, why the work was posted anonymously. i had already decided i needed to write something in response to it by then, as a sort of “tribute” to whoever might have written this.
And in response, I-No brushes her guitar’s strings, enough to summon her magic. Transformative magic, the kind that you’d archive online in the hopes that another trans reader would find resonance between the lines.
i’ve found such an intense resonance with this. it’s hard to convey with words the emotion that this makes me feel. i’m grateful to have found this fan fiction, to have found this community, for a game like guilty gear to exist which could foster a community for transgender people. i’m grateful for transgender erotica and expression as a love letter to the source material and for personal indulgence. i don’t think i can make a much more compelling closer than that, just simple adoration for transgenderism and love.

Ooh, another ask game! 😁✨️
May I start off with 21 for Mario? ^-^
Gonna answer these in one fell swoop! Let’s go!
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
I love writing his dialogue actually! I have a rule of thumb when writing dialogue where, if I can’t imagine it in the character’s voice, it’s not going in my fic. Mario is extra fun to work with in that respect, because, while I don’t write his accent out phonetically, I always try to arrange his words and phrasing in ways where you could still read it in his accent. I struggle more with his general quirks and mannerisms; I’m still figuring out how to write him physically occupying a space.
More below the cut!
Tumblr media
@mrspockify answered 21 above! As for 6:
6. What’s something you have in common with this character?
We’re both cheerful little shitheads that tend to act without thinking. We’re also both fat; I’d love to be fat AND strong like him 🥹
Tumblr media
@mrs-luigi-vargas
21. If you're a fic writer and have written for this character, what's your favorite thing to do when you're writing for this character? What's something you don't like?
Sorry to sound repetitive here but I love writing dialogue for him SO much! He’s so hammy and over-the-top, yet thoughtful and competent. And I love writing little mannerisms for him (I’ve given him a few quirks, namely mirroring people’s actions without realizing it and grabbing onto the handle of his sword as an almost comfort reflex). Admittedly I can’t think of anything I don’t like… he’s probably my favorite character to write for overall right now.
Tumblr media
@keylovesstuff I wish I had answers for you, but I honestly don’t. 😭 I was 13 the last time I wrote or read Pucca fanfiction, and that was also 13 years ago. I don’t remember much of anything that went through my head at that time… and I cringe at my old writing too much to go back and re-read it. 😅 I’m so sorry!!
Tumblr media
2. Favorite canon thing about this character?
Honestly? I love the implication that she’s perfectly capable of holding her own, she just usually doesn’t bother because she knows she has a stocky little plumber who will answer her every beck and call. Unconventional answer, maybe, but it makes her that much more fun in my eyes. 😂
Summarized by this quote from Fortune Street:
Tumblr media
7. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you like?
I love how everyone really leans into her girliness rather than tomboyifying her, honestly. There’s historically been an air of “Ugh, she’s so GIRLY, which makes her BLAND” around characters like her, but at least since I’ve been in the fandom people seem to embrace her frilliness and ditziness without dehumanizing her for it.
8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?
It’s not hugely widespread within the fandom itself, but I see it in general — characterizing her as vapid or ungrateful, with no agency of her own. I’m especially talking about the people who put her down for Odyssey’s (admittedly controversial) ending. “Uuuuuugh she’s so ungrateful, Mario went to the moon to save her and she cucked him” he saved her from a forced marriage and then got into a cockfight with the guy who tried forcing her into that marriage… over a MARRIAGE PROPOSAL, she had EVERY RIGHT TO SAY NO
It’s not Peach’s fault Nintendo was too fucking cowardly to give us the ending we actually wanted. 😭
14. Assign a fashion aesthetic to this character.
Strawberrycore. She would ROCK strawberrycore.
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
My introduction to Peach outside of vague mainstream acknowledgement was when I played Super Princess Peach in the third grade, and I loved her from the get-go! She was just so cute to me. And I feel pretty much the same way now; she’s such a fun character, more than people give her credit for.

An anonymous user asks:
hello, i was wondering if you could pass a message along to vee? if this is inappropriate to ask i am sorry, but I am honestly too embarrassed to ask any of the Jewish people in my life irl and I think you’re of an age you would understand the question. outside of the “possibly killed his girlfriend but also it might have been someone at the party the night before and so many drugs were involved thing” sid vicious wore… well you know the shirt. i grew up listening to the Sex Pistols and romanticizing the statement “knight in rusted armour” but as a risk of sounding terminally online is it problematic? asking from a place of good faith because you’re not going to sugar coat things but also aren’t going to get out the pitch forks unnecessarily
So! This is based on only my vague (like 1 hour research) understanding of him and his contributions to punk rather than as a guy who comes up a lot in pop culture, like in fanfiction and video games. That all in mind!
If you truly feel you deeply relate to his music, then there's no reason to stop listening to the stuff you already own or anythig drastic. But oh boy are some of the claims I'm reading about egregious.
The good news is, the are what's known as "shock jock" behaviour: controversy seeking rather than a genuine support. This is still very bad to do, don't engage in it. It creates safe environments for actual heartfelt nazis to grow their numbers.
But you have to remember, in the 1970s, it was Not Popular to be a nazi. Not like it is today. It was common enough that everyone sort of know a guy, sure. And antisemitism was getting really bad again in europe. But nazism? Specifically? It wasn't Cool. It was controversial.
Not like today. My goodness we live in the worst fucking timeline.
Whatever. Nazi symbolism was a quick way to cause a controversy back then, is the point.
Logically one can assume the same is true of, for example, writing a song about an extermination camp. Egregious yes, but egregious on purpose because the feelings of jews were not considered relevant compared to the controversy that it would cause.
But fucking shit though, some of this is hard to read about.
This is why it's so important as contemporary punk enjoyers to viciously push back against nazis co-opting the space.
So, in private and with regards to your personal emotions to the artworks? Go enjoy what you enjoy! You aren't hurting someone by privately listening to music.
But in public? As my GF put it, if I heard someone was like... hardcore into this man's work, like to the extent of attending cover band concerts for example? I would expect them to be vocally and passionately anti-nazi before I could trust them.
And, I totally see where someone who just knows the man off google search results would think of him as "guy who maybe killed his Jewish GF after writing songs about extermination camps."
To be clear, I agree that the most probable "suspect" was that someone had a really bad trip. Who? No one knows; everyone was high.
But I see why many Jewish people would be uncomfortable with him, based on a cursory understanding of the situation.
Which is why, if you take your appreciation for his work from private to public, you must. MUST! Be 100% ready to do whatever it takes to keep nazis out of punk in today's world, and to combat antisemitism when it arises in your local spaces.
That's the part that matters.
And in my opinion? Based on the way you approached this, you're doing very well informing yourself on the subject. You had some idea of the issue, and you reached out to someone you trust. I appreciate you doing so.
Also, if you like me mostly knew this guy as, "oh, the anarchy in the UK guy, from guitar hero"... don't feel bad, my friend. I literally had no idea either. I recommend as further reading the short book/essay collection "Oy Oy Oy Gevalt! Jews and Punk" by Michael Croland.

Shitfic Masterpost
I yell at y'all about updates to my shitposty Stardew fanfiction all the dang time, but that's no longer enough. It's high time I give you a masterpost of all the shitfic.
But not just any masterpost. No, this is a compiled list of stories from
Pomegranny Farm
Pomegranny Farm is a shared Stardew universe between myself and @coolcoolglasses. Sometimes we collaborate, sometimes they write solo, and sometimes I write solo.
Farmers Mica and Shale Stone run Pomegranny Farm and they are completely and utterly useless. Some Pomegranny fics are also collected in The Misadventures of Mica Stone for... some reason.
(I may have forgotten the reason)
So far each story is self contained with minimal cross-referencing — you don't have to read everything to understand everything else, but there might be some delightful jokes for you if you do. The list below is ordered in some semblance of a timeline, but it's not necessarily a recommended reading order. Just read what you want, man. Ain't nobody gonna judge here.
Pomegranny Farm Masterlist:
Just Friends Bein' Pals (Definitely Not Bein' Jerks) ✪ First fic! I thought of a dumb joke and decided to try it out. The ASS trio play pranks on one another. Maybe there's a little character development. Status: Complete
Operation: Get Marnie A New Man ✪ Longform collaborative fic with @coolcoolglasses! Marnie deserves better, and only two big dumb idiots are suited to team up and figure it out. Shennanigans happen. Sometimes we draw stuff for it too. Status: Ongoing
Scenes From A Pelican Town Restaurant ✪ A hold-my-beer fic! Leah and Elliott are meddling hens and decide that Clint needs romance. Status: Ongoing / Temporary Hiatus
Smalldew Valley ✪ Prompt fic! Sometimes I'll get a writing prompt, and sometimes I'll write something using said prompt. Basically it's a bunch of character and world building outside of the main storylines. Status: Updates when prompted
Vincent's Super Scary Spirit's Eve Story or: THE SCARY ATTAK OF THE GHOSTS ✪ Spoopy fic! We had a dumb idea (what if Vinnie wrote a creepypasta) and ran with it. Status: Oneshot, Complete
Shell Game ✪ Fic for funsies! Elliott writes a (bad) creepypasta-type story. It's not good. He should stick to romance or science fiction. Status: Oneshot, Complete
Alternative Medicine ✪ Sassy fic! Harvey: God damn it I have an MD. Emily: ARE U SURE ABOUT THAT— Status: Ongoing / Temporary Hiatus
A Worthy Goal ✪ Wholesome fic! Harvey and Elliott work through a midlife crisis panic attack. Status: Oneshot, Complete
I'm Really Proud of You, Man ✪ Extra content from chapter 29 of Operation: Marnie. Leah wants to know what's up! Supportive fic! Sam can be a good friend. Sometimes. Status: Oneshot, Complete
Book Signing ✪ Comics? In my AO3? It's more likely than you think. One for each of Elliott's book signings, @coolcoolglasses wrote and illustrated the comics and I illustrated most of the book covers. Status: Complete
Call Me ✪ Extra content from chapter 29 of Operation: Marnie. Leah wants to know what's up! Status: Oneshot, Complete

What am I supposed to do when I'm bored. I say, holding a phone that has access to the entire internet.
Omhg I almost cried today but dw I cure myself by taking a cold shower outside and scream like someone's tickling me. Freezing cold water is the fix to everything. I have an Outing tomorrow with friend. I haven't been on an Outing in six months. And that was with Best friend. This friend is one of those people you call a friend because you don't know how else to categorize them. Anyways we're gunna go window shopping I think and I'm lowkey nervous about it. Oh dw I HAVE money that's not the problem the PROBLEM is I'm going OUTSIDE in the OPEN amd therefore am BREAKING ROUTINE when what I wanna do is just sit in bed all day texting a friend about birds and shit but at the same time I really really wanna spend time with THIS friend but aawuuuuuhhhh can somebody pat me on the back pleas
Uh, I'm bored. Huh. Eeeyyy I wonder if there's any good fanfiction I haven't finished yet. Get it? Cus I don't... Finish... Any fanfiction I read..... Actually wait that's a lie I distinctly remember having a crisis over a KillerMare fic and even told my therapist about it. Maybe I should go reread that instead of typing silly paragraphs into Tumblr.
Actually can I talk for a minute thanks so I've been paranoid recently about Things and one of those Core Things is me dragging myself into danger willingly. Which I do in fact participate in! But like have you ever evervevr just have you ever aw fuck I mean when you're just nervous and biting at everyone you talk to and you don you can't you just eant some company but you're afraid you're gunna bite them because deep down you're afraid thy're lying to you even though you know they ain't because they're done so many nice things for you and you suddenly csn't recognize some of your friends and you're getting really scared about it because you LOVE these people and you've known them for years and then just now you just feel so threatened by them and you don't know what to do and you wish your stupid brain would stop making evrryone yoy love an enemy.

20 Questions For Fic Writers
@somanywords Helloooooo friend always lovely to be tagged in these games!
Tumblr media
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
18!
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
554,942
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Marvel, mainly Stucky
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
(all Stucky) Plastered (59,379 words) Monoclonius (62,000 words) Unpredictable Synchronicity (114,239 words) A Climb of Passion (32,666 words) Tension and Tonic (78,978 words)
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I'm chatty so it's easy for me, most of the time. Sometimes I just do little emojis. I know it stresses some writers out which is fair, but I like it, so I do it.
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I don't really do angsty endings, but I guess Manpain Spiral of Solitude, which in fairness I do think the title warns properly that there might be angst. :)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
They are all doopy and happy but Backhoe maybe? Honestly, they are all so cheesy. Sometimes I am hard on myself like, "This fanfiction I'm writing is not esoteric or high brow or relentlessly grim at all" and then have to slap myself around. There's nothing wrong with happiness.
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not really, though I have a few where the characters make particularly unimpressive decisions and those get some borderline negative comments, but most of my stuff is like, aggressively pleasing and my comments range from polite and supportive to deliriously charming.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Oh yes. The cheesy schmoopy kind full of yearning and feelings and lots of consent. I do like a sex scene where someone is a bit insecure or inexperienced, and their partner is like, "But I like you for you" and they communicate about their feelings and wants and then they are all more confident at their sex stuff, because, look, I'm a simple person with simple pleasures.
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I keep threatening to do a Lord of the Rings / MCU-All the Avengers Live in the Tower Crossover and somewhere I have some notes about it. Bucky is VERY jealous of Aragorn, who keeps throwing looks at Steve, even more so when he realizes how jealous it makes Bucky. Natasha and Gimli get along very well and then Legolas is jealous of Natasha, so Legolas and Bucky end up sulking in the corner.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Dunno!
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Podficced! But not translated
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
No, though I love collaborating with people via beta-ing each other's fics
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I mean, yanno. Stucky.
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I don't want to say never. My Magic AU is going to be a long term thing. I don't want to give up on it.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Dialogue, and jokes, I think. I like writing kids.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Probably like, clarity of thought, consistency of voice. I re-read my shit and dear god, my adhd is so bad y'all. Particularly my one fic Tension and Tonic which is the only one I didn't have an outside beta spend literally hours making me sound comprehensible and it's really kind of embarrassing. I spend a lot of time trimming down and re-arranging to try and make it comprehensible, and then after like 6 edits, someone else looks at it and immediately points out 9500 places for improvement and then I have like 3 more people look at it. I think it's a double edged sword because the adhd helps me quickly come up with ideas but then a lot of the ideas need to be removed or re-arranged. I don't necessarily mind editing and re-editing, but it's a thing. Also my fight scenes could be better, and I am working on getting better at plot.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I enjoy it. I tend to look at reddit or other forums where native speakers are coming up with phrases they use to try for authenticity. I love dropping in what I hope will be little Easter Egg hugs for people of whatever background. Recently I worked with a graphic designer to add in some super wonky dialog and I hope it makes another graphic designer out there somewhere smile and feel seen.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Well, if we're going in the way-back time machine, I really liked Star Wars, in particular, the novels, in particular, the witch planet where all the babe-witches rode rancors. I wrote some fanfiction in early high school about them. Also Mara Jade, binches, fucking MARA JADE. She was like my first Bucky. So tragic, so sexy, so brainwashed, so competent.
20. Favorite fic you’ve written?
Oh it always changes. I'm actually pretty into the shrinkiclinks I'm working on right now which is kind of a spy thriller but also very cutesy and mundane. Monoclonius I think is my happiest, easiest to read fic? So maybe that one.
Tumblr media
I'm leaving your tags @somanywords because I love peer pressure.
No pressure tags for any writers who see this, and also @turtle-steverogers @hipsterdiva @tessabennet @voylitscope @greyhavensking @t4tstevebucky and anyone else who writes and wants to share!

okay, let's see how close and/or far i get
starting with the songs i know:
Come Along by Cosmo Sheldrake. now i've never actually looked up the lyrics of this one (just been guessing at them which. i often mess up with), but according to the ~internet~ it's meant to be a sort of invitation away from real life's static-ness, to instead live with a bit of whimsy. one source also says it's also about "embracing the present and cherishing life's fleeting moments"
so, one possibility is that this is related to the au/fangame in an "escaping your real life and jumping into the whimsy that is this gravity falls game" sort of way. if we're counting the second bit, part of the story could be about refusing to let the game go? always coming back to it, never truly letting it end?
alternatively, the "cherishing life's fleeting moments" is about the show and "embracing the present" is about finding new joys in life. third possibility is that i'm overthinking this
A Sadness Runs Through Him by The Hoosiers. okay, i can connect this one to a few characters:
-the stan twins (or just one, lots of people just go with one)
-the player character (going hand-in-hand with the "not wanting to let the game end" thing)
-...bill cipher? (again, if you can't let the game die, you can't let any of it truly die, and that includes the antagonist. the lines 'asked me to pray to the god he doesn't believe in' and 'don't look at me with those eyes' work especially well for bill, with the former possibly being linked to the axolotl. considering that he called out for the axolotl to revive him and, in this scenario, he came back without its help. or maybe it's just. an actual god. who knows what bill believes)
Two Birds by Regina Spektor
-Mabel and Dipper or Stan and Ford work, of course. however-
-Bill and the player??? i'm sorry i caught this string and i'm refusing to let ago until i get to a song that proves me wrong
-adding third idea after reading back through this: one bird is the player, the other is representative of either the show or other people in the player's life. the player doesn't want to let go, and ends up in an unfortunate situation as a result, with the other "bird" leaving without them
Ruler of Everything by Tally Hall
I'm gonna say this one is also related to Bill Cipher, for a few reasons- one, the line "do you like how my face disintegrates into chalk?" well. it did kinda do that when stan punched him didn't it
second reason is because the whole back-and-forth section of the song could be between the player and bill. "i saw you slobber over clovers on the side of the hill, i was observing the birds, circle in for the kill" could be a reference to bill's death, with him becoming a stone statue in the woods. in the final episode, you see a bird land on his hand- hence, i was observing the birds. "circle in for the kill" could be the player, rightfully, not trusting him not to try mass murder again
there's also "i've been you, i know you, your facade is a scam" coming from the player. they've watched the show, they've probably interacted with discussions about it, fanart, fanfiction, possibly even made some of their own. they know bill as a character and, more importantly, they know he's not an honest one
(the rest of these are songs i had never listened to before now)
Tom's Diner by Suzanne Vega, DNA
i'll be honest i've got nothing for the lyrics. i suppose there's just too many ways i could interpret it- for example, applying the "player theory" to this one, the player could be the singer or the person outside the window. bill could be the dead person in the newspaper, or it could be someone unrelated. the singer could be one of the characters (leaning towards ford, considering he is the coffee guy) and the waiter is the player, or the person outside the window is still the player, or the person exchanging hellos is the player. you see what i mean?
Obstacles by Syd Matters
mmm not entirely sure about this one, but i think it could be from the perspective of the characters? the blizzard/changing weather is the world the player's trapped them in, the foreseeing obstacles is the player themselves, and the playing hide and seek in waterfalls represents the world before the game. the world as in the show (especially considering that the cave behind the waterfall is pretty important whenever it comes up)
Constellations by The Oh Hellos
ditto, but a little more optimistic (the mention of "good intentions", assuming that the player isn't refusing to let the game end out of maliciousness + "everything you thought you knew will fall apart, but you'll be alright" acknowledging that what's happening is terrible and it's not likely that life for the characters will not return to normal, but they will persist throughout it)
Willow Tree March by The Paper Kites
i lied i have heard this one i just never knew the name. bonus points for having one of my favorite songs in your playlist and therefore helping me rediscover it. anyway, continuing with our player theory, this one could be a more...guilty approach to it? guilty in that the lyrics ("with your lust and your greed weighing down" and "and you weaken your love and you hold it above your head" for example) seem to be more accusatory, and the repeated lyrics "we all still die" and "this tree, it will die (without leaves)" make me think the singer represents the characters, trying to get across the idea that it doesn't matter how hard the player holds on to the game, it'll inevitably die anyway
Just A Man from EPIC: The Musical
not entirely sure about this one either. possibly, the player realizing that not letting the game end is hurting the characters and reflecting on that?
Viva La Vida by Coldplay
this feels like more of a bill song than a player song
Conclusion!
alright, so my guess at this au is that it's sort of about a self-aware game? the player plays through the game, then plays it again and again and again and refuses to let it rest. overtime, this starts to wear down on the characters and causes things to go wrong, such as reviving bill cipher. at some point, the characters begin to directly plead with the player to let the game end and, possibly after some sort of tragedy or new route via bill that kills or otherwise harms the other characters, the player start to realize that it's their own actions that are causing the game to break down. what exactly happens after that? depends on the player
no idea how close i was, but! good playlist i thoroughly enjoyed going through it :]

Anonymous:
Vriska, by the way? Is that like, the real Vriska?
BB: Yeah.
MM: Are you guys like, friends with her or something?
BA:
CC: What the hell is your problem?
MM:
TG: What the hell is your problem?
CC: Why would you even say a thing like that?
MM: Why not?
CL:
LL:
FB: Everyone settle down. We're getting off track here.
BA: Vriska is actually a really interesting case, I think. She's about the closest thing the fandom has to an anticharacter.
BA: Not in the sense that she's just "a nice person," not in the sense that she's my "favorite" or something.
BA: She's an anticharacter in the "hostile to the story" sense of the term.
FC:
AA: Are you going to elaborate, or what?
BA: Hostile to the story, I'm saying. The way her character has been used. The way she has been wrenched from her initial function in the story (revealed in Act 5, in the Scratch) and returned to her original function, in A5A2.
BA: The "Scratch meta" plotline is, at its core, about how nothing ever works out. How power fantasies get spun and dashed. How authors will write a story that seems amazing, at first, but then you realize they can't keep it going, and eventually they break it off.
TG: Like with Jasprosesprite^2, you mean?
BA: Yes, and, with Vriska. You can't make a hero out of her. You can't have her save the day. The only thing that can happen, when she's unleashed, when you give her power, is that she ends up ruining the story.
BB: That's the story, isn't it?
BA: And that's how it is with fandom: the fans, like Vriska, wanting to change things, wanting to put them back the way they were. I could point to individual stories I've written, where I've tried, in a tongue-in-cheek way, to force the narrative to do the kind of things Vriska is about to do.
BA: But that isn't even really the point. Vriska is about the larger trend, I think. Because, just like Vriska, she keeps barging in and trying to change things, and then . . . then they never get changed.
FB: But it's different in fanfiction.
AA: Magnus was full of stuff like that. Things that "couldn't happen," but . . .
FC: And we liked it, or we wouldn't have been reading it, right?
MM: That's kind of what I was saying. That the whole point of "Scratch meta" is this . . . annoyance with the way things don't turn out. With the way that all the author's strengths end up being things that seem like weaknesses, from the outside, and vice versa.
TT: But that's a hypocritical bargain, no? We wouldn't be reading it, if we didn't like it, and if we did like it, why are we complaining? Why don't we just write it ourselves?
FC: Closer to the original meaning of "Scratch meta," these days. It used to be about stuff like, "can time travel really work?" And so on. We've moved on from that. Now it's about . . . taking the limits of power, and trying to beyond them.
WM: So you see, there's this . . . tension.
BA: A tension between, you know, my new, possibly pretentious, way of looking at things. And old ways.
BA: And what I mean is, there's old ways and then there's old ways. Because there are old ways which I don't like.
BA: And there's one way I hate in particular, the way I'm calling old ways. The way I'm talking about now, which is, like, this popularity.
BA: And, at least in the fanfics I've been reading, there's this weird split.
AA: Uh, split?
BA: Sure, sure. Look, the popularity contest. That's . . . not life.
AA: Is that what you're saying?
BA: But that's exactly what we're doing. The vast majority of fanfics are scrabbling around for popularity like it's the oxygen we're all gasping for. You're all doing it.
BF: Well, maybe not all of us, but . . . yeah, we have to concede that, just going from the number of popular fics.
BA: And why do we do it? What do we gain from this popularity? We are all playing a little game that we made up ourselves. And we get high points for making up our own private rules, and then we get to bask in the glory of those high points, and I can't say that the other popular fics are the anti-Vriskaes of Homestuck, or whatever, but I can say that the most popular fics tend to be the ones where the audience can most clearly picture the characters "as they should be, according to our fanon."
AA: So? Who cares? Fiction is for our enjoyment. Do we have to like a story, to create a story?
MM: I've said before, the hardest trick with A6 isn't that it's not the same as A1-5. It's going to be different, and that's just fine. The hardest trick is that it has to be what everyone wants to read.
CC: Nobody has to read A6.
MM: Of course. But if you're me, and you live on fanfics, then you have to read it, at least a bit. Or else you don't know what people want. And then you can't write anything anyone will want to read.
TF: Or, if you're me, you try to make fanfics that seem like an old friend, something that will just go on forever, and readers will just come to it, and like it, and leave, and come back. And the readers will be, you know, just people who want to read, and all the popularity scores will just be, like, people reading more, and then liking it and going on, and less reading, and liking it. And that's good, because . . . well, I guess that's all I have to say.
BC: But you can't do that if you don't have a job, right? A full-time job? Or a college scholarship? I mean, you're here, with the rest of us, Arquiusprite, but some of us actually, you know, earn enough money to be able to just . . . spend all day on Homestuck fanfics. That's how I'm able to write
