Can’t stop thinking about how good Tomura is at acting

Not in the way that he makes up lies to tell people, but rather in the way that he has observed others from afar and integrates pretty well with them, only for a means to an end

Take the Mall Scene for instance. Shiggy walks around and acts like a civilian. He knows that civilians don't pay attention to other people, yet he still wears the hoodie to cover his face and keeps his head down to not draw any attention. He removes Father from his face and acts like any other person. He walks around completely unnoticed because he knows how to cover himself to look normal

When he sees Midoriya, he acts like any other fan. Walks up and gets friendly. Even keeps up the act of "I saw you at the Sports Festival! You're pretty impressive!" and even Midoriya thinks to himself "Wow a lot of people watched the sports festival huh" - he thinks this guy is just another civilian until it's revealed that it's Shiggy

And EVEN when it's revealed, Shiggy continues to keep up his act for the people around them. They sit on a bench, close to each other, like they know each and are friends. Shiggy's hand around the neck would be obvious if it weren't for the fact that Izuku kept his head down as well. Izuku didn't want to draw attention, just like Shiggy

AND LISTEN LOOK Shiggy doesn’t KNOW Ochako, he's never met her and he's never spoke to her, so he doesn't know that Ocha is Izuku's friend. He just thinks she's some kind of civilian who "would never suspect something sinister was happening in this peaceful society!"

So when she walks up and tells him to let go of Izuku, he looks at her and moves Father in his pocket, which was probably a fake threat to Izuku that if he didn't play along, he would kill her (Izuku likely thought he had a weapon or something). But when the kid can't even ACT like nothing bad is happening, Shiggy has to let go of Izuku and put on the most friendly apology known to man

He completely switches to Friendly Civilian and laughs it off, then walks away, not before telling Izuku that he'll get angry if he gives chase

AND!! Even when Izuku is completely like "WHAT DOES AFO WANT", revealing that it is in fact Shigaraki to Ochako and drawing attention from the civlians, Shiggy doesn’t even drop the act fully. He's still aware of his surroundings and he's aware of the situation. He answers that he doesn't know and tells Izuku that he will kill him, before leaving calmly and quietly

He slips out and away like he wasn’t even there. Nobody notices, because he’s learned how to act as a civilian

Like just... Tomura is so good at keeping up an act

And Tomura doesn’t lie. Every single word that he breathes is true. He ACTS like he’s all buddy-pals with Midoriya so the civilians don’t get suspicious (not that they would cuz they don’t pay attention, but it says a lot that he also took precautions), but every word he says is true

Anyway no thoughts head empty Shiggy observing civilians and how they act in order to do what he wants

Summary: You were a popular Youtuber who made videos for a living. When you uploaded a boyfriend tag video, some fans got a little upset their favorite youtuber was dating. Shigaraki though, he was furious, and he wouldn't stop until you were his.

You set up your ring lights and turned on your camera, ready to film another video for YouTube. This has been your job for the last 3 years now, ever since you dropped out of college. Making videos was your passion, so you took it up full time, working hard day in and day out, and it had finally paid off. You had mostly male fans, but that’s to be expected when you dress and act the way you do.

Shigaraki was one of those fans. He thought of himself as a super fan; watching and commenting on all of your videos, trying his luck at dming you on Instagram, overall supporting you through and through. So when you uploaded a video introducing your new boyfriend, he was pissed. He didn’t think you would notice him with the number of people that probably dm you everyday, but a boyfriend? Seriously? He hoped it wouldn’t last long. That he’d turn out to be abusive, and then Shiggy could swoop in and save the day. But that was far from the case.

You said in the video that you’d been dating him for the past 7 months now, and wanted to finally make it public. Shit. Did you even see the comments and dm’s he left you? How much he let his guard down to be vulnerable with you? He left his first dislike on that video, commenting a string of curses and negativity.

Your fans received the video well, give or take a few angry teens. You were scrolling through the comments, trying to reply to as many as possible, when you saw his.

Dustthemall: “That fucking piece of trash? Really? Do you realize how much I fucking love you? Bitch.”

“Someone’s mad,” your boyfriend says from behind you.

“Oh hey! Didn’t realize you were home this early,” you respond, kissing your boyfriend Izuku on the cheek, “and yeah, mostly just the teen boys getting their panties tussled because they ‘can’t have me’.” You roll your eyes. You normally don’t reply to rude comments, as it only adds fuel to the fire, but this one seemed different.

Reply: “Sorry he doesn’t meet ur standards, Dusty :( Forgive me?” You playfully send back, hoping your words wouldn’t anger him more. You set aside your laptop and went to go make some lunch.

When you returned, Izuku was at your laptop, reading through some more comments.

“Hey, you got a reply to your reply? Dustthemall? He seems furious, it’s kinda funny.”

“Oh yeah, what did he say?”

“Something about ‘finishing this conversation in dms’. Wanna check it out?”

“Haha, why not? I don’t reply enough to those anyway.” You sit back down at your desk and filter through your dms until you find Shigaraki’s. Upon opening it, you see hundreds, if not thousands of messages, all with no response. He must be one of those super fans.. You thought. You began reading through them and noticed a pattern with his messages. They all sound like he’s confessing his love in some weird, deranged way.

“Great video today, Y/N. If I was there, I would’ve taken pics between outfit changes..”

“Hey, you looked super sexy in today’s video, keep it up <3”

“God I’d fuck you so hard that you couldn’t walk in the morning.. Be careful in that outfit now..”

They all got creepier the further down you read, and you were not a little hesitant to message him. You bite at your already short nails, thinking of what to send him.

You: “Hey, Dusty. You wanted to talk?” Sent.

Shigaraki paused his game to check the notification he got. It was from you. You dm’d him?! He nearly disintegrates his laptop as he pulls it onto his lap, opening the dm.

Dustthemall: “Hi.”

You giggle a bit when that’s all he sends back. Was he nervous? You begin to type, when another message pops up.

Dustthemall: “I bet that bf of urs is a piece of shit deep down. All men are.”

You: “So that includes you too, then?”

Dustthemall: “What? Fuck no, I know how to treat you right. ;)”

Was he 11? He talks like a teenage boy who’s never gotten pussy before.

You: “Are you just here to shit on my bf? Because I have better things to do with my time, Dusty.”

Dustthemall: “That’s not my name. Stop calling me that.” Shigaraki was getting pissed now. You dm him just to be rude? What a bitch. Still, the love in his heart for you didn’t go anywhere.

You: “Aw, my bad,” you toy with him, “what should I call you then, hm?”

Dustthemall: “The name’s Shigaraki.”

Shigaraki? That name sounds familiar.. You can’t put your finger on it, though.

“Hey babe, do you know a Shigaraki?”

“Shigaraki? Isn’t that the leader of that villain group?”

“You’re right! He is!” You began typing again.

You: “Haha, you’re funny. What’s your real name?”

Dustthemall: “That is my real name.” He couldn’t be serious. Using such a famous name as an alias was sure to get him into trouble. You look on his profile to see if he posted anything with his face in it. There weren’t many pictures, but some of his tweets were concerning.

You didn’t want to believe the man you were talking to right now was really Shigaraki. Between the dm’s and other comments he left on your videos, he seemed to be obsessed with you, and it was scary. You flip back to the dm, re-reading his words over and over, not sure what to do.

“Are you sure you want to block @Dustthemall?” Yes, you were sure. You clicked the ‘Yes’ button and successfully blocked him. You knew this wouldn’t stop him, but you felt too uncomfortable continuing the conversation.

Shigaraki was furious now. You blocked him? Were you scared he was going to hurt you? No no, he would never. You’re the only thing he wouldn't hurt. He didn’t know what to do now. The one person he loved rejected him, without even giving him a chance. All girls are like this, he thought. Angrily, Shigaraki tweeted in hopes to get your attention one last time.

Shig @Dustthemall “fuck! I watched all of your videos from the beginning hoping that we could meet one day and have something for real. BUT NO! You just had to go and settle for the first cock that walked in your direction.. I bet he doesn’t even tell you how sexy you are everyday. If I see him out on patrol today, though, I’ll get him, don't worry your pretty little head off, baby.” Izuku’s words put your mind to rest, if only a little. You went about your daily business, filming, editing, uploading. You frequently checked the comments and his page to see if he was still trying to interact, and sadly he was. You blocked him on everything you could, but when new accounts started popping up and sounding just like him, you knew he wasn’t going to let your ignorance slide. You slam your laptop shut in a panic. You think clearing your head is the best thing to do right now. You put on your brown puffy coat and head outside for a walk. Your boyfriend left for patrol an hour or so ago, and you thought surprising him would be nice. On your way downtown, you got stopped by a man tapping your shoulder. Turning around happily, you flashed a smile to the man before your expression changed to pure horror. It was him. He found you.

“I don’t think your precious boyfriend is going to help you now..” Shigaraki wrapped his arm around you with a painful grip. The horrid grin on his face stretched ear to ear, showing his teeth and cracked lips. Your body was shaking, and you wished it was because of the temperature outside.

“H-Hello, Shigaraki,” you began.

“Don’t act all nice now, bitch. You had your chance and blew it. Now it’s my turn to be rude.” He says as his eyes stare bullets into your soul. He was right; your boyfriend can’t help you, it was already too late.

-Not gonna lie, it confuses her at first. I mean usually when you’re so powerful, you’re vindictive right? I mean that’s what she learned from watching AFO or even when she’s just watching fictional villains in movies. So when she meets you, she’s more like...”What the hell??? Is this a side effect of the quirk?” Well all quirks should have a weakness right? Anyway, she likes you like this because it shows despite your power, you’re just a normal human being too. She also thinks your personality is pretty cute lol

~Shigaraki~

-Literally face-palms himself at you a million times a day. Like how can someone so powerful be so stupid? Take no offense to him saying this (it’s to be expected). Despite that, he does everything in his power to keep you away from AFO. If you end up being found, he at least makes sure you lie about your quirk or something (this is before Afo steals Ragdoll’s quirk btw). The reason is because Shiggy is scared master will either turn you into an unstoppable Nomu, or take your quirk and ultimately...your life. Tomura cannot let that happen, especially since he’s grown rather fond of you (fallen in love).

~Twice~

-Sees your personality and thinks nothing of it. You’re no different to him just because you could possibly take over the world if you really applied yourself. The reason why is because Jin looks at you and sees the type of person you are outside of your insane abilities. He much rather prefers watching you laugh at your own slipping in the kitchen than watching you destroy half the city. He makes sure you don’t join the league because he just doesn’t want you to be used by them. Of course he fails and you end up being the new member anyway. You have to stop him beating himself up about it and you remind him that you do what you want with your power despite anyone else’s opinions.

~Compress~

-Very impressed with you and will help you tighten up on any skills you might be lacking...which isn’t a lot to be honest. Mostly he’s really amazed at how mundane and domestic you can be. You could be halfway across the world making it rain fire on an entire region but here you are in the grocery store tapping watermelon to see which one is fresh or not. He finds it both amazing and endearing at the same time. Sako realizes the he wouldn’t want it any other way.

~Hawks~

-He loves laughing things out with you when you find silly things hilarious. He’s just about the same so you two couldn’t be anywhere serious in public because you both would be kicked out for snickering to each other lol. Keigo spends a LOT of time making sure you don’t accidently kill yourself around the house with how clumsy you can be. “I can’t believe I have to put cushions on the edge of the table because of you.” He teases while you gasp at him. “Excuse me sir, but it’s not my fault the carpet was extra slippery that day!” You two laugh it out and he’s seriously planning on making you his wife/husband/partner someday. Right now his main goal is to keep you AND your quirk out of the eye of the hero commission!

~Geten~

-Pretends like he hates it, but he absolutely makes it his life goal to be your protector. You forget a lot of shit and you’re pretty ditzy most of the time...okay, all of the time, but he loves you for it. No matter how many times you catch him rolling his eyes at you throughout the day, he still does everything for you out of love. Geten just wants to make sure you remain safe in his arms but he will NEVER admit that to you so don’t try and get him to lol. Despite all of this, he loves asking you to challenge him to a spar so he can sharpen his skills and become better. You beat him every time and of course he’s fuming, but when he looks at that perfect smile while you’re laughing at him, his heart just kinda flutters.

~Nine~

-Super worried about you in today’s society. He has a very strong quirk himself (one that’s killing him slowly as a result), so he knows how rough things can be. If your quirk doesn’t fit into the nice little box that society has created, then you’ll likely be shunned. However, he notices this isn’t the case with you. Despite having a massively powerful quirk, you seem to behave as if you don’t have one! In fact, you act as though you don’t have much of a brain either lol. He might find some peace of mind when he catches you flicking the door stop in the living room and laughing at the vibration sounds it makes. “What on Earth?” He laughs before hugging you tightly. Maybe he’s worried for nothing.

~Slice~

-She knows you probably share a braincell with like one other person but she’s okay with that. You’re like the light of her life basically. She’s not always the confident and arrogant sexy woman that she seems. Sometimes she has trouble finding motivation to get out of bed in the mornings. Thank God she has you to come in the room and bite her nose like a weirdo. You laugh and it’s contagious because now she’s sitting up in the bedroom laughing while rubbing her sore nose. You’re powerful, but you don’t flaunt it and that is perhaps one of the reasons why she adores you the most of all. You are unapologetically you, and Slice loves it!

-He gets a little frustrated thinking about all the power you have just going to waste while you’re sitting here watering plants in the apartment and bumping into the bookshelf literally every day. He might actually end up fussing about it a little bit but if he upsets you then he’s going to apologize (mostly because he’s scared you’ll destroy him if he doesn’t). Despite this, he’s going to try and motivate you towards some for of training or villainy. It’s up to you whether or not you choose hero/villain/or civilian. Either way, he admits he still loves you even if you two don’t always see eye to eye. He can’t see himself without you!

BNHA role swap. The Villains are Yuuei Students: Shigaraki Tomura Edition

“I'm going to ignore the fact that Shigaraki would be called Shimura Tenko because I really don't like that name” this was my first thought and then a whole fanfic plot idea came out of it.

Nana Shimura, after a night with her lover, accidentally got pregnant. This dude is foreign or a special agent, making it impossible for him to stay around. Nana and him spoke about abortion or giving the baby away. It was honestly the cleverest idea. However, Nana decided to have the baby as a single mom in the very last minute. She didn't tell him not to ruin his career... and well, mostly because it was against what they had arranged. (I actually hate this scenario, but I had to take the father out of the picture and that`s the only explanation it ocurred to me).

Everything went fine because she had help from a lot of people to raise her kid (you can choose male or female, is not relevant to the story). Thanks to this, she could still continue with her job as, you know, world saviour. Nana`s child grew, fell in love, married and planned to have his/her own family quite fast (the next Shimura generation is simply a normal person. One who, although having a good quirk, never took an interest in following his/her mother`s steps). Here is when things got twisted. Nana had made a lot of enemies during her hero service years and the bad guy who hated her most, villain All Might, attempted to murder her offspring. The police and pro heroes arrived when he was torturing the pregnant woman. It was precisely Nana herself who ´saved` her daughter/ daughter-in-law. The doctors did all they could but unfortunately it was not enough to prevent her from dying. However, they were able to take the baby out. After a month of intensive care in the hospital, Tenko was like any other baby. Nana had no doubt this time, she could not keep him. That`s why handman is yet called Shigaraki Tomura in this au of mine.

Kurogiri, a retired hero who used to work with the police, infiltrating in multiple crime gangs; became his legal tutor. In the present, Shigaraki is a 16-year-old hero wannabe and Nana is a still alive, kicking ass and quite young grandmother. Very few people know they are related, but Tomura is well aware of the whole story. The heroine tries to visit him as much as she can, taking extreme precaution measures. They get along very well.

All this is like the background info, so the actual plot would start when Villain All Might`s successors (probably Deku and some other canon 1-A classmates) find out Shiggy`s existence and want to end him; to finish the job that got their master into prison. Maybe they try to recruit him to psychologically torture Nana... or directly try to kill him, not sure. Any way, they fail the first time, so the thing would be that now Tomura and some others who get stuck in the jambo mambo (probably the ones who canonly form the league of villains) have to survive on the run.

Author Note: What do you think? (scratches the back of her neck) I would love to know your opinions. I am writing concrete headcanons now, so you get more info about other characters and how I imagine them in this parallel reality. I am hoping to make a series out of this if I have enough time and inspiration. It is also a bit of a high school AU, to be honest. I've tried not to make it look like a soup opera but it sometimes just happens. I live for the tea.

Tomura would be this kid who never gets over his early adolescence emo phase: his hair is always covering his face, never shows the slightest amount of his pale skin and seems allergic to sunlight; wears hoodies on summer what the actual fuck; loves dark themes/topics and favourite colour is black, total edgelord, bitter sense of humor, MRC and BVB...

A videogame freak unable to open a book and study a bit.

Watches anime because he is too lazy for the manga.

Him as a student:

One of his teachers (All for one), for some reason, puts great trust on him, naming him class representative.

Tomura is not amused.

Complies to his duties, yes, but with extreme exasperation.

AFO also believes Shigaraki has great potential as a hero. Insists on the idea that if he got better at fighting, with his quirk, he could disintegrate any dangerous weapon a villain had before they could hurt anyone.

Moreover, this sensei affirms a Tomura in good shape would be impossible to escape as he is able to destroy any hiding place or possible obstacle someone tries to throw into the persecution.

Considering all this, AFO stars training Shigaraki.

Tomura is not giving much, tho.

He is a bit depressed because he is sure he is never going to be like his grandmother. He passes all his courses with shameful results. He cannot find the motivation to make a bigger effort and just keeps going that way until...

a) he has a life changing experience when he disintegrates a broken building wall that was about to crush some kids. Tomura realises his quirk is very useful, actually perfect for rescue missions.

b) Chisaki Kai arrives, transferred from Shiketsu. Contrary to Tomura, he is handsome, polite and with a quirk only destroying to create. He hates his guts. Although it seems to be one of the few people, if not the only one doing so. Kai is starting to become the yueei candidate for top class pro hero. Shigaraki does not like this a single bit. In his eyes, Chisaki is all a facade. Underneath that cool appearance he is just a weirdo prick with a superiority god complex. Tomura is not going to let someone like that enter the same category as Nana Shimura. That`s how he gets his act together (hate is a pure emotion, best fuel ever haha Nah, I am just a sucker for the Overhaul x Tomura relationship. Not in a shippy way, more like rivals).

His hero costume:

Hasn't designed one yet.

He starts thinking about it after the aforementioned epiphany.

Interactions:

Dabi is his best (probably only) friend, even if they are all the time bickering. He belongs to one of the most famous families in the hero society, him being the outcast. Tomura thinks of him as a total rebel without a cause. Despite his bad behaviour, Dabi has a natural talent that makes him one of the best at yuuei academy.

The only thing Shiggy enjoys about being clas representative is the status it gives him.

He cannot help but smile when he sees people who dislike him or would not talk to him in any other circumstance, be obliged to face him and treat him with great respect.

Tomura gives a gay vibe and is popular with guys.

Much to his disappointment because he is actually more into girls (I am saying “more” and not making him straight because my open minded multishipper ass always tends to give characters the possibility of discovering they are indeed bisexuals).

Sadly for him, the only one who shows to have such interest is Toga Himiko, a first year unicorn lover, who is way too obsessed with him.

Dabi, instead of helping him get rid of her (idk if you are aware of how ShigaToga is actually my favourite romantic ship for both of them BUT without the villainous context i can't see Tomura having the slightest interest on Himiko), encourages Toga and has lots of fun.
