1- When did you start playing Choices? What was the first book you played? 

I started in 2018. I was bored in a friend's house and fighting good old insomnia when I saw the app and tried it for funsies. The first book was 'High School Story'. 

2- When and why did you join Choices fandom?

I joined around late 2018 early 2019 and I had just left my community in Amino because the admin had gone full puritanical dictator and I was curious about Tumblr.

3- How did you pick your blog name? 

It was simple: my nickname is Noe and I am a sapphic (aka lesbian). It's a no-brainer, really. 

4- Pull up the first post in your archive, and tell us about it!  

It was a reblogged quote. I related to what it said and I reblogged it 

5- Do you write fanfiction, create fan art, or are you one of those really gifted people who do both? 

I write fanfiction. God did not grant me art skills I'm afraid. My fingers are too fat and my pulse is terrible. 

6- How long have you been creating for Choices and for any other fandoms?

I've been creating for fandoms as long as I can remember. I've had a really troubled life, so creating stuff helped me. As for Choices, I've been creating stuff since 2019 

7- What is your favorite Choices book, and what is your favorite Choices book to create for?

Without a doubt, Desire and Decorum. The first book is simply a masterlist and its characters are so well-written, and everything about it just draws me to it. They definitely botched the other books, but it will always be in my heart. I also enjoy creating for other historical books and books that have similar themes 

8- Share your first Choices fanfic or fan art that you posted with us. Do you still like it, or would you change it if you were creating it today?

It was a set of headcanons of Mr. Sinclaire and my MC, Celestine, finding out that they're going to be parents. While my spelling is terrible, I wouldn't change a thing. The engagement I received was such, it drove me to write for more. I haven't stopped creating since. 

9- What your favorite piece of fiction or art that you created? 

It's no secret for anyone who pays attention to my blog: my au, The Cursed Heiress, is probably my best creation. It's complex and a juggernaut of lore and history, and has all I've ever wanted in a fic and book in it. Although a close second is my Tudor AU, For Love and Duty. I simply love the 'arranged marriage' trope 

10- Do you have a fic/art that you didn’t expect to be well received, but it was? What about one you expected to do well but found it could use a little more love?

The second part of a one shot, A True Man, was probably one of the most difficult to write, and with a very traumatising and important theme. I was 100% hoping anon hate telling me to delete it, but found instead that the people ate it up! It has now 30 notes (which is A LOT for a small fandom like the D&D one) and now that I reread it, I'm proud of what I created and the message I wanted to send, which resonates with happenings of my past and experiences. 

11 - If you could write only angst, fluff, or smut for the rest of your writing life, which would it be and why? 

Definitely angst. There's something so cathartic and relieving as letting out those emotions you can't express out loud without being locked up for being unhinged, and it has helped me understand myself many times. Also, smut is def something that I can't physically write 😅 

12 - Do you ever recognize yourself in any of your MCs or in your writing?

There are small parts of me in every MC. A fragment of my past. Something of their lore that I went through. Something I aspire to be. Something I wanted to be once. I like to think that every writer leaves a part of their heart and soul with each character they create. 

13 - What element of writing/art do you struggle with most?

Ooof, where to begin. I think the hardest part is to just write. I can go on for weeks looking at my turned-off laptop and goof off on Tumblr. But when I do write, the 'boring' parts or writing a character that I am not familiar with or that there isn't much info about can be challenging. 

14 - Do you have any neglected work you really want to finish?

Oof, where to begin, lol. My modern AUs, The Viscountess and Plan B. There's also Your Most Ardent Admirer and For Love and Duty. There's the fix-it fic series of the Blades LIs. Profiles of my MCs from several series. And also fic ideas that I want to create, but don't know where or how to start it. Woe is me indeed 😭 

15 - If someone you know in real life (who isn’t involved in fandoms) asked to see your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you show them first? 

Depends on the person. I would be very, very picky. I did show some parts of The Cursed Heiress to two trusted friends. But I wouldn't be against showing my mom a few chapters of The Viscountess… Unfortunately, she does not speak a word of English and I am terrible at translations, so it's wishful thinking, lol. 

16 - Are there any writers (published authors and/or fanfic writers) who influenced your writing or art? Are there any artists that influence you?

For the published ones, Holly Black and Cassandra Clare have probably been my biggest help. Leigh Bardugo is also a newer inspo, and Spanish author Laura Gallego got me into fantasy, and anonymous author Bebi Fernández's raw and brutal prose have helped me find my voice. I have now bought George R.R Martin's Game of Thrones, looking for new sources to grasp. 

As for fandom-wise, the very first writer to inspire me unfortunately hasn't been active since the pandemic, and despite our differences, @hellospunkiebrewster 's writing and essays got me into Regency and its history. My thriving years were by her side, and I'm grateful of having had a great fandom friend and hyper. The most recent ones are @missameliep my amazing fandom mom (te quiero mami 🥰) and some pieces by @princess-geek 's writing have inspired me to expand my horizon. 

17- Which one of your stories would you most like to see as a movie/series? 

The Cursed Heiress, definitely. I think that my messages would resonate with many people. There's also The Viscountess: many people should see the messages Nicole, Anne and others have, and for what I have planned (and have been stalling out of laziness 🫣) would put things into perspective for many minorities and certain groups that are neglected by society and governments alike.  19- Do you write original fiction or create non-fandom art? 

I am now at the outlining stages of making The Cursed Heiress an original novel. I tried many times to make my own novel, but always dropped it. But now that I've been for years with it, I feel like this might be the one project I dreamed of publishing one day. It's tough and scary, but I'm loving the ride so far. 

Also, I have tried my hand with poetry, but it didn't have engagement and felt like talking to a wall, so I now feel discouraged. But if someone out there is interested, lmk 👀 

20-  What other hobbies do you have?

Apart from literature, I love make-up, skincare, cooking and making gifs and videoedits. I also love travelling and discovering new adventures and learning as many languages as I am capable. I also love listening to music. Basically anything that has to do with the humanities and art, I'll take it. Also, I am very invested in modern royal gossip. I know, not very republican of me… 🫣😅 

21 - What’s your favorite emoji? 

Apparently, the one I use the most is 🫡🫶🏻👀. Heh, sounds like me, lol

Some of my inboxes: a collated answer!

Hey! Some of my anons/inboxes from last year came in around the time I was experiencing some of that fatshaming phenomena (if you don't know what I'm talking about, you don't want to know), and I didn't have the spoons to respond to them at the time. I want everyone to know that I have treasured these messages regardless - thank you. I was for a time seriously considering abandoning the platform, but I ultimately decided that it wasn't what I wanted and so much of that decision comes from those who've stuck by me throughout all of this. It's been tense and admittedly sometimes downright messy - I'm not incredibly proud of calling out some of the bullshit as bluntly as I have in the past, but it is what it is and even if I didn't do the best thing at the time, I am assured in knowing I've said what I've said for the right reasons.

I've collated the inboxes that most closely align here, where I'll answer everyone as best I can, both because it's more expedient AND because I'd like to be able to push this out and finally draw a line under that negative experience. I'm just answering some asks, so if that doesn't turn you on - scroll past, dudes!

Thank you so much, @trilldax - this was balm to my sensitive, sad soul when I was receiving the worst of the anon hate. YOU are amazing.

Friends with people I've called out, most likely. They're probably doing it out of loyalty to their friend, which doesn't make it right but does make it somewhat understandable, I guess? But ultimately, the hate only lasted a few weeks and seems to have completely died out in the new year thus far, so silver linings, nonnie!

Don't worry - I DEFINITELY intend to keep writing. I've finally nailed down the beginning of the next instalment, having plotted out an entire chapter with threads extending beyond to later instalment/s, and have made tentative inroads on writing! I had some extreme writer's block and writing anxiety after the end of last year, but returning to what I love (mostly reading fanfic and making my books) has helped mitigate a lot of the damage. Don't worry - NOTHING HAS BEEN ABANDONED. I still REGULARLY think about how I'm gonna press on!

Oh my god, @grumpyrissi - this ask was funny! Thank you for this. Unfortunately, I think the mentality of returning fire is what's landed me in the hot seat, and I would HATE for anyone to be put in this position especially because of me. And I'm happy to see all the hand-pudge love! My hands have always been really fat and stumpy-dumpy looking, partly due to a recessive genetic thing that a geneticist actually studied my family for! My being over the standard weight doesn't help their appearance, though I don't mean this in a negative way. I have wrinkly, pudgy old-lady hands and they're capable of a lot! I write with them, I make crochet toys with them, I knit clothes with them, I create cards and bind books and build furniture with them. They might not be 'sexy' hands but they're my hands and through them, I fulfil everything I want to do creatively. I totally get you about the ring sizing, though - some jewelry stores drive me INSANE. I love YOU and YOUR hands, Rissi! Thank you!

Hi, nonnie! Damn, I wish you'd left a calling card of some sort, because this made me cry when I first got it. Please reach out if you want, I'm honestly down to clown with pals! I'm fairly open-minded opinion-wise, my hard limit is disrespect and I can tend to go a little ham when I perceive that I or someone I love is being treated poorly. I'm not the most rational beetch around, I think!

For a while, I moped in an 'everyone-hates-me' funk but this really helped pull me out of that. Thank you for this message, nonnie. I really appreciated some additional perspective to break me out of the spiral I was in. When you're getting hate of a really personal bent, it can be super demoralising. There's definitely an element of this, I think - or people who are having issues in their personal lives that they're externalising onto social media as a symptom of lacking resolution or closure. Whatever the reason, I know only part of it is because of their dislike of me, valid or not, and there's much more motivating the desire to actively wish for someone else to feel bad about themselves. Bullying is such an epidemic as it is, and translation to the cyber platform really has just diversified all the ways we humans can hurt each other. I'm in a much better headspace now after having no inspiration and an actual fear of writing for months because of all the bad feelings associated with it, so it is super refreshing and pleasing to be working my way back in slowly.

I don't actually know what the hate anon thing is about - everyone is copping them. I have no idea if it's a bunch of writers slinging shit at each other for various reasons, or if it's one or a small collection of users taking aim at everyone just to stir trouble, or if it's simply a troll fucking with everyone's heads and causing division. I have my own theories, but honestly, it could be anything. It could be all three. It could be none of these. I don't know. It has been really toxic here for a while, which sucks, because I've been here since September 2022 and it was nice and quiet for a good few months until shit started really popping off like mid-last-year. Boredom, perhaps. Who knows? All I'm hoping is that the return of the show brings in more writers for the fandom, which should hopefully thin out the toxicity and make it a nicer place to be. I think there are too many users who've got it in their head that fandom is a real-life game of thrones, and that we've all got to claw and scrape and backstab each other for some sort of prize. Hence the whole 'big blog', 'little blog' rhetoric and the hyper-preoccupation with notes and perceived infamy. People like this will eventually crack under the pressure of their own maladaptive attitude or get caught out for it, so I'm not too concerned. I think it's super damaging to see writing/content-creating as a ladder of achievement rather than a personal enjoyment. I've never engaged in that, nor do I want to.

It'll get better, nonnie, it has to. But it has to start with people wanting to exist in fandom for the sake of creation, not destruction. Hopefully this happens sometime soon.

Hey, nonnie! Unfortunately, the Tumblr anon feature is woefully mismanaged. I think that if the developers incorporated some sort of coding that guaranteed that every anon had a random percentage chance of being sent off anon, people would be MUCH less flagrant in their abuse of the system. I get its function. Humans unfortunately suck by nature so much of the time, so naturally it's misused.

I am a little hesitant with Patreon because of the nature of its paywall thing. (I used to have the pay-thing active on Tumblr, but I no longer do that because of the ethics of creating fandom content and the inadvertent/implied overlap with possible financial gain, so I turned it back off.) I know you can unlock that feature, but there's definitely more of a community feeling here and an ease to interaction that I don't really think Patreon has, but that just comes from having been a user interacting with other profiles at one point (mostly Sims CC, lol). I'm probably going to stay on Tumblr for now, cuz I've grown such a community here and I don't really want to let some fuckwits wreck that for me because of whatever-the-fuck-reason they have to send me crap. Eyyyyy, Luna! Thank you so much for your words. It was dark there for a while, but I've pushed through and decided to remain on the hellsite (I guess it's called that for a reason, haha!). I'm making progress on writing, too! YAY! I had fuck-all inspiration for a good while there, but I think the break was good as I did end up writing like a demon for about a year. I look back and I'm so proud of the work I did, and no crappy little text messages are going to take that away from me. I want to keep making work that I'm proud of, and hopefully I continue to do that for a long time. I often go back to certain fanfics that I love, that make me feel safe and comforted and familiar, when I'm feeling down, and the mere possibility of serving as that for even one other person is why I'm determined to stay and ignore the rotten apples.

Racist Experiences in the Marauders Fandom

These anonymous submissions come from a survey I published several weeks ago where I asked for fans in the Marauders fandom to share their experiences with me. I was overwhelmed with the results, and this is, in their own words, some of the submissions I was sent.

There has been lost of push back against fans using POC fan casts for various characters

I have seen people get upset when characters are fancast as non-white actors (like dev Patel for James)

Clash of opinions about fanon Hermione being black

I have seen lots of racism towards people's newer fancasts, as all the OGs (ben barnes, andrew garfield, aaron taylor-johnson, etc.) are white and some people are trying to change that!

I saw a fanart one time, where james had a darker skin (he was latino) and someone commented that it doesn't suit him

I draw Sirius black as Asian and I’ve gotten quite a few racist comments about this and I’ve seen a lot of racism about desi James. Also when BIPOC people cosplay characters that people think are “white”

People tend to cast characters as white, and sometimes I see people getting mad someone is fancasting a non-canonically black character as black or as a person of colour (I've seen some good black Remus, non-white Lily, non-white Peter fancasts, and yet, there is still peope being sooo mad about it like??). Sadly, I think a lot of people can tell about the fact that fancasts are often discussed and hated for no reason when they're not white or whatever, when it's basically just a fancast, that goes against the "canon" a bigot (JKR) made up.

Only the general feeling that the white characters are more interesting and loved than any of the characters of color. Racebending seems token, like nobody wants to be exclusionary but also don't have the comfort or confidence to make that diversity ring true in terms of cultural resonance. By cultural resonance I don't only mean make them ethnic but to portray and discuss or casually mention the postcolonial personhood or third culture kid experience as applies.

A comment on my fic about making it a “racial jungle”, saying that it wasn’t accurate for the time period even though representation of races otherwise had no significance in the fic

theres is a lot people that will fight tooth and nail for exclusively white maruaders (in terms of fancasts) and they slander other people in the fandom for using more diverse fancasts such as desi james or black evan

I've seen it in passing, especially towards POC writers/people who HC characters who were not diverse in canon.

People not wanting desi Potters in art or otherwise

One Harry Potter fan got mad at me for drawing James (and Harry) dark skinned

GOD THE FRIKIN FANCASTS. They really don't matter that much and everyone makes it such a big deal. To me at least- representation only really matters if its real. If there's fat Peter, darkskin Dorcas, desi James, or Japanese Sirius/Regulus in a fanfic, that is the representation of that. It doesn't need to be reflected in a fancast used in an edit. Personal opinion but annoying as fuck I just wish everyone would enjoy the fact that someone spent time pouring over numerous tiny clips from many different TV shows and movies just for fun, and other people getting mad that they didn't use a person that literally doesn't exist angers me to no end.

mostly just a complete ignorance of POC identities. sometimes poc characters are ignored in favour of white characters. but also, even when POC are centered, i often see like a lot of fetishization and stereotyping and it's just... not good...

there’s a lot of jewish people in the fandom that have pointed out antisemitism within the fandom a few times. i am not jewish, and i cannot speak on the issue, but that’s something i’ve heard a lot. i’ve also seen the whitewashing of fancasts for characters like mary and dorcas who are widely accepted to be women of color, so that feels weird to me, but i think? that’s everything i’ve noticed or heard.

i've seen racism thrown to black creators, poc fancasts, and at myself for being arab and head-cannoning the black brother as arab.

There was a black dude cosplaying remus and their were people saying remus wasnt a N-word but it was a white person saying it

I have seen some fans respond in a racist way to Black fans who have called out the racism in the way in which Black characters are written and portrayed in the fandom.

Well guess It's time, today I will be revealing The fifth episode of miraculous season 5 illusion

We start of the episode as some journalists are interviewing citizens to find out popular opinion about their two idiotic heroes. Really, I think it would be a neat idea, show how the citizens of Paris feel about ladybug and chat noir, it could lead to some interesting drama of Marinette having to deal with the guilt of losing almost every single miraculous AND a lot of people hating on ladybug, making her sick, but then Alya could help her, maybe even su-han. Her school friends could help and it wouldn’t need to reveal, if a friend of yours is feeling bad you don’t need to know what happen to comfort, they. Chat noir could help too giving a bit more of a reason why ladybub fell in love with him, you gotta admit, the square flip was out of nowhere, and with this all plus the people that still believe in her, Marinette would slowly get better. I personally think that it would be some good drama. BUT THIS HAS THE WORD "GOOD" SO IT IS ALREADY DISCARDED AND INSTEAD MAKING ONLY THE ASSHOLES LIKE BOB ROTH AND CHLOE SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT LADYBUG BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE THE "BAD GUYS" THEIR POINT IS TOTALLY UNVALUED BECAUSE THEY ARE EVIL WHILE THE "GOOD GUYS" LIKE THAT PIGEON MAN AND MR DAMOSHIT ARE THE RIGHT ONES BECAUSE “oH LoOk aT tHeM tHeY aRe sO lIkeBlE sO tHeY aRe PrObBaLy RIgHt” THE WRITTERS ARE TRYING TO CONVINCE THAT LADYBUG WAS NOT AN IDIOT WHICH IS A BIG FAT LIE, AND INSTEAD OF GIVING SOME INTERESTING DRAMA THEY JUST TRY MAKE US EAT THAT EVERYONE IN PARIS BELIVES THAT A 15 YEAR OLD GIRL IS WORTHY ALL THE TRUST IN THE WORLD, BECAUSE WE CAN’T HAVE GOOD THIS IN THIS GOD FOR SAKE SHOW. The scene cuts (thank God) to Adrien’s room where Plagg in playing with the alliance, making AA (Adrian alliance) say facts about cheese

Adrien of course gets uncomfortable with the thought that there’re right now a lot of creepy fans being able to make AA say anything they want or make him necked, the HELL was you thinking Gabriel? So, Adrien goes to talk to his dad and have a surprise he was making him some breakfast, and that he was going to the parent meeting in school.

They talk about how they've grown apart since Emelie’s death. No man you’ve grown apart since you became a terrorist. And we have a scene where a little drop of pancake butter falls on his Richard sphinx cosplay shirt and he goes ape shit, but gabe stops being mad and Adrien gets to the point.

Adrien: dad I’m not really comfortable with having my face in all this rings, that’s actually why I didn’t wanted be a model anymore, to avoid that, do you understand?

Ugh this is other thing I hate about this show, it can’t decide if they want Gabriel to be pure evil or sympathetic. Sometimes we see Gabriel caring about his son (gorizilla, queen wasp) and other he doesn’t give a shit about Adrien (chat blanc, oblivion, ephemeral, etc.…) and I hate this so much, but I liked that they made Gabriel being an passive aggressive toxic dad instead of just a butthole to Adrien all the time, makes more sense that why Adrien don’t know his dad is toxic, toxic relationships normally aren’t just the person being an asshole all the time, heh bet it won’t last longer because it isn’t miraculous if something utterly stupid happen every 5 seconds

We cut the scene to marinette and alya talking on the cell phone while walking to school with the split screen showing off what they're doing, and then…. They start talking about rena rouge and the lost miraculous……. TALKING ABOUT SOMETHING THAT SHOULD BE A SECRET IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET IS A GREAT IDEA, HELL YOU

They talk about how monarch is able to get the jewels back in the last second and alya suggests that maybe he is using the dog miraculous to fetch the miraculous back, which would be a better idea than HE BEEING ABLE TO BREAK A MIRACULOU, AND EVEN IF IT’S BROKEN USE THE POWERS AND WOULD ACTUALLY GIVE THE DOG MIRACULOUS SOMETHING TO DO INSTEAD OF BEEING A STUPID SUPPORT MIRACULOUS JUST LIKE THE SNAKE AND THE FOX. Who am I kidding? The dog will never stop being a support miraculous.

Marinette and Alya arrive at school and Nino tell the group (Alya, Adrien, Marinette) he is going to form a resistance to help ladybub and chat noar without powers. Nino gets the name comrade ketchup and Adrien comrade mayo. The scene cuts to the group in the cafeteria, they get some food, Adrien flirts with Marinette,

Alya: hey, did I just hear Adrien say he wanted to spend more time with you? Woah that awesome!

Marinette: No, it’s not, whenever I’m near Adrien I can’t concentrate what if I lose my miraculous because I stop focusing on superhero stuff?

A bunch of Adrien stans go in the cafeteria look for him, but they are able to run away and they go to the same basement we see in “rocketear” to talk more about their plans.

And they decide that the person they would akumatize would be…. Gabriel….

Lila tells Gabriel about their stupid plan, and the parenting meeting begin, Marinette comes In saying she forget her organizatior holding A GOD DAMMIT PIZZA, WHAT THE HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, she makes a little scene and drops the pizza on Gabriel’s clothes

Adrien and Alya also drop some food in Gabriel clothes, and I'm not going to narrate this part, it's just cringe that’s all. Gabriel takes Adrien home and says that he will now be homeschooled again. Really this is the only episode in this season alya is likable, BECAUSE DIFERENTLY OF EVERYONE SHE USES HER BRAIN

Alya: I told you this plan was bad; all we’ve achieved was getting rid of your “BFF”, at best he is the one who is Gona get akumatized

Gabriel, please do what she said, akumatize Adrien, AND MAKE HE BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF THAT STUPID MORON,

They go apologize with Gabriel, while that Gabriel as monarch uses illusion to create an illusion of himself, the ilugabriel ( illusion of Gabriel) starts to regret not being a good father and gets akumatized, so then it was like REALLY useless, because it was an illusion of an akuma, THEY DIDN’T EVEN COULD LEARN ANYTHING FROM IT.

Adrien and Marinette transform and go fight the ilucollector (illusion of collector, not the toh one) and the fight scene is really good, the ilucollector is able to use his tablet like a boomerang, both the heroes and the villain try as much to not be touched, pretty cool. Ilucollector runs away. While that, Monarch then fuses with the real horse miraculous, the bee, the mouse, and the rooster miraculous. Monarch uses voyage to go to the sewers, activates venon, use multitude and became invisible with the rooster, wow man he is really powerful. Grab your popcorn everyone, today we will see ladybub’s plot armor in action. Laybub uses her lucky charm and gain a bag full of shredded cheese. Monarch again uses the voyage to make the heroes fall in the sewers. And monarch paralyzes chat, dude wouldn’t it be better paralyzing ladybug first? You never captured her but captured chat a billion times. Ladybub finds out that there is invisible mini monarch’s walking around and throw the grated cheese in the mini monarch’s making some rats that where there run after them. Monarch then reunites. With ilucollector he makes some drama, gets deakumatized and jump off in the sewer water.

Ladybug: its not too late, anyone can change.

Except Chloe, chole is a brat and will always be a brat. Right Astruc?????

Ladybug transforms in aqua bug without eating any magical macaron, you know what I don’t care. this has already 6 pages, and my pc do NOT withstand something longer than that, lets just get this over with.

Nino finds out that when monarch gives or removes a power a lightning bowl appears, which as I said its not true because that was an iluakuma (illusion of akuma) Alya gives stupidino a hug and says sorry? What? No man you really shouldn’t say sorry to him. The writers are the ones who needed to apologize for giving you such a stupid boyfriend.

Stupidino explains everything to Gabriel and apologizes, and ladybug… says what they did was very risky and… they should not do it again…..

Gabriel allows Adrien to go to school again and we find out that the whole class is now in the resistance, this feels like when feminists say “we fight in name of gender equality" then some person say "wow cool I'm going to join" without knowing what they were getting into XD

And we find out that Lila is also a part of the resistance.

Alya: everyone wants to help ladybug Marinette.

WHAT??? HOW THE FUCK DO YOU STILL TRUST LILA??

AFTER LYING IN YOUT BLOG, ALMOST GETTING YOUR BFF KICKED OUT OF SCHOOL. AFTER KNOWING THAT SHE TRAITED LADYBUG MULTIPLE TIMES (like in oni-chan) HOW THE FUCK DO YOU STILL BELIVE IN HER. Ok Alya, I will give you one last chance because you are my third favorite secondary hero, but if you screw up ONE MORE TIME, you will be called fucklya.

And this is where the episode ends, wow I didn’t saw that much bullshit in a while now, stupidino is a psychopath and Marinette just agrees with him. I would say I ship those two but Marinette is terrible and Adrien is terrible, they deserve each other. Alya was AWSOME in this episode, except for the end.. and the beggining.... But still ok, The fight scene was good but it didn’t last much. I like the idea of people helping the heroes without powers, but the execution is just like everything in this show, bullshit

I will give this episode a 2.2/10. Life is misery.

In addition, I really enjoy helping to name things like fictional characters and whatnot. I have a method that I use that creates original names with meaning - it's not foolproof, but I've come up with some great names through it.

also, as a disclaimer, it's stuff i personally dislike for whatever reason. i've filtered tags and blocked the majority of people who say/talk about these things, but occasionally posts do escape through my filters bc a lot of the shit i'm annoyed by with DC are SUPER common among the fandom (which is partially why im annoyed)

BATMAN. god. not even the actual writers can write a batman i can tolerate. there are like. maybe five(?) fanfic authors whose batman takes i actually enjoy? the others are so hit or miss. i barely even browse the tags anymore it's too much emotional effort to filter through the fics that are left even if i use stringent filters

8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about

that clark/bruce can't have a dad bod or be pudgy or be fat. like there are SO many artists who draw them in these ways, and also? Strength isn't defined by how dehydrated you are when you flex? you need fat to pad out the muscles, or else you're going to REALLY hurt after working out so much. yes, even clark. besides, the soft look is sweet. i like it a lot. i know i draw them a bit more on the 'hunk' side, but i will defend the dad bod/chubby/fat bruce and clark truthers to my death

in THIS big of a fandom i feel like there isn't a lot that people ignore? like there's something for everybody, and i mean everybody. although i do feel like a disproportionate number of people prefer batman and the batfam over superman and the superfam and im really sad about that bc people automatically write them off as 'good is boring', and the canon writers often do the same. which like. guys. cmon. it's not 'boring' to put your entire (superpowered) might into uprooting the deeply entrenched weeds of oppressive systems in the world and looking forward to a brighter future. that's why we fight?? isn't it? so we can have a better tomorrow??? superman isn't boring at all, happiness and hope isn't boring. hope and happiness find meaning in knowing that they are not the default, that we have to work hard and struggle for it!! anyways. i do follow some people who talk about this so it's not entirely ignored, but like in the wider ship spaces i do NOT see enough people talking about this specific element of superman. i think they all just think he's hot. which i agree with. but i ALSO think he's cool and interesting and more than just his appearance.

I have been born and raised in the church I do consider myself a Christian. We can’t help the fact that it has been pointed by other  that Naoko and even writers from the 90′s anime where inspired by religious undertones in them( like Usagi being called the Messiah, and Chalice being called the holy Gail)  . It’s something that a lot of shows have taken things from the Bible and religion. I’m really trying to understand how the hell it’s racist tho.   Now when we was first called racist I was thinking they was going in the angle of how all of us feel about how people are trying so hard to Americanized / whitewash Sailor Moon. How all of us was so against it  and trying to say it racist of us to feel that way. 

2. The fuck is a fucking lipstick is good because Asian Women are people who live understood.” - This doesn’t make any sense either since people was literally having a fit about girls and Chibiusa having on lip gloss when Sailor Moon has always been marketed to teens/girls. It was about the fact people was acting like Chibiusa was having on Mac lipstick which she wasn’t and she was having on lip  gloss which girls her age start to experience with.  

3. Fat is being mocked - Yes We know about that damn episode 4 that aired on my damn birthday . Hate that episode and hate the fact that Usagi is drawn cubby like she supposed to be. We know fat is mocked by the fact they keep saying she’s overweight even thos she burns through everything since her being a senshi. 

4.and your ass is interested in smut about minors - It was no point in name calling and have barely read any smut in a while  because like or not my taste for it just really left me as I got older.  I enjoyed for a while and I just stopped reading it. Hell I barely read fanfics now because I don’t have the time since I’m working. We not going to get on this moral high ground bullshit because people been writing smut about Usa/Mamo or any other ship in SM for 30 years. Also the fact people have age them the fucking up.

What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)? i thinkkkk i can't stop and look the other way. i knew for sure i wanted to play with infidelity kink (and my original idea was actually for the infidelity to be real lol) but i chickened out and just made it a roleplay, and even clearly tagged it as such, but i'm proud of how i pulled it off in a way that a bunch of people commented saying they forgot or didn't realize it was roleplay hehe. maybe i'll write actual infidelity one day! who knows

5. What work of yours got more feedback than you expected? god, that's gotta be give it to ya like you never had it. i truly didn't expect the response it's gotten because there was already a super popular pornstar AU fic, so i knew my second cake would just be a humble offering in comparison, but i think a lot of people really liked the way i wrote them here where i had fun exploring their personalities outside of mafia canon.

6. Favorite title you used? oh, i hate all my titles, i literally don't think of a title until 30 seconds before posting, and then i end up using whatever song i was listening to while writing...

What’s one pairing you want to explore next year? i guess i can technically say mileapo since i haven't finished or posted any mileapo fics yet. but another kp ship i want to try is (unpopular opinion alert) vegasporsche. hear me out!! they might suck together in the series, but they have a different dynamic in the novel, and their relationship is more genuine (not FULLY genuine but like, more than in the show lol, like they become friends and vegas develops actual feelings for porsche and everything). but i just don't know if i'll ever actually write them because i would need the perfect idea or AU and it hasn't come to me yet.

20. Which work of yours have you reread the most? probably down like my head on your chest, because i THINK it's my fav la fortissimo fic. i'm just really happy with the scenes i chose to hornify, plus the hallway-semi-public-masturbation bit was a huge turning point for porsche where he was given full control of the situation for once and he still chose to submit. you don't really get this because it's in porsche pov, but from that point on in the series, you notice kinn ends up "playing with porsche's emotions" a lot more (ie. having him drive his twinks home, fucking a lot more escorts, shutting down conversations about their feelings) and that's actually kinn poorly coping with porsche's unwavering trust by trying to prove to himself that he doesn't feel anything for porsche, which we all know is a BIG FAT LIE. but anyways. no one reads into the story this deeply, i know you're all just here for the smut <3

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year? my biggest surprise is that i can write again LMAO. before kp brainrot, i went like a full 2 calendar years without writing anything because i was so uninspired, plus constantly comparing myself to the thousands of better writers in the huge fandom i was in at the time. kp also has incredible writers but it's a much smaller fandom and i feel a lot less self-conscious posting here. i remember in my old fandom, i literally couldn't even tweet about an idea i had that i wanted to write without getting a dozen replies from people saying "there's already a fic like that", which is like, ok, i know none of my ideas were especially original, but getting that response constantly made me feel like my writing just wasn't welcome. oh well. with kp being a new and small fandom, nothing feels "overdone" yet, so i'm having a lot of fun in this playground!

i feel you entirely tbh. there are some days where i'm neutral with my body (since it's kinda hard to love it rn), but most days i kinda start picking myself apart after a while. i think it's probably the byproduct of both dealing with the fat-shaming in everyday society (which btw... god, i fucking hate it when people are like "i just want strangers to be healthy" when you don't know a person's health records, you don't know shit about them, and even if you do, you don't actually care: you just want them to fit into YOUR aesthetic, shut the fuck up and get back into your lane) & being raised by parents who believe that you have to be as thin as you can in order to be beautiful. it's bullshit, especially when it's their genetics that keep some weight on me. even at my thinnest, i still have chub. it's probably never going to go completely away.

i think learning to love yourself, no matter what you look like, is really hard sometimes. it's harder when you live in societies that look down upon certain features, but self love in general can be really hard.

in all honesty, i think that's why inclusivity is really important to me. i've talked with ursa sometimes and i think we've touched on the escapist part of fiction, but i have more thoughts on it. i get the idea of escaping from everyday life, but... i don't know, it never sits well with me to wish you look entirely different. maybe it's because i've grown older and come to terms with the fact that there are things about myself i can't actually change (at least not without surgery). it's little things like the mention of a reader (not an oc, or even something marked as being a thin reader) having a tiny waist and whatnot that rips me right out of my ability to escape--and it's definitely not me alone, since i know other plus size writers and i know i have readers who are plus size as well. it feels unfair that we have to seek out ficton specifically for us to escape into, and it's unfair how much of that fiction focused purely on body type.

i said it when i was writing lonely hearts club, but i don't like writing chubby!reader fics where the focus is on reader's body. that's not how my life goes. yes, my body type affects the way i think and present myself, but i hate how many stories can be boiled down to "reader is insecure because she's not hot" or "reader is insecure because fat, because all fat people are insecure." it's weird and reinforces a mindset that we should be insecure because we aren't thin. LHC!reader has insecurities, but they aren't centered entirely on her weight.

it bothers me in the rare instance i run across a chubby!reader fic that has reader lose the weight. yes, some people can lose the weight, but it always feels like it's written by someone who doesn't know how hard it can be (especially if you're poorer--there's a reason obesity coincides with poverty). it also feels like it was written by someone who thinks that like... it's okay to have a narrative driven by reader losing weight and being conventionally pretty. why should i have to fit into other people's expectations? why can't i learn to love me and feel pretty in my own skin? if i lose weight, then that should be my choice. not society's. if i'm worthy of love when i drop five, ten, twenty pounds, then i'm worthy of love during the goddamn process and before it, too.

it's unfair to expect someone to change in order to be loved. you wouldn't tell someone they need to gain weight in order to be loved, you'd support them during that process. it's not fair to expect people to change. some people can't because of actual health problems.

tw: tumor mention + medical bullshit. my mother, despite all of her bullshit, gained a lot of weight due to a brain tumor that she still has to this day. she can't change that without getting rid of the tumor, and she'll likely die with the tumor unless something changes. if she doesn't deserve love, it's because of her actions that make her a fucking awful person and mother--but it's not because of her body in the slightest.

When I first heard DCM first I was too emo to digest everything, but then I was like "uh, that's an SM song for sure..." but it grew one me. I loved the chaos in Christmas Evel like wtffff. jedi and fatness in the high republic era

so. high republic media has given us so much in terms of characters that are not white, are not straight, are not cis etc. ... but what i expected the least was that they gave us jedi who literally don’t fit into the ~ideal~ body type that jedi typically have - slim, athletic, muscular. the #1 argument against jedi being fat is always: they need to be physically fit. they need to be disciplined. they need to be fast, and proficient in combat. disregarding the stereotypes that fat people aren’t disciplined etc. i just... i never got it because: you can be fit without being straight-sized. you can be proficient in combat. you can train to run fast. and jedi? jedi have the force to support them. and even if they aren’t all of those things they “need” to be - there’s always jedi librarians. healers. teachers. explorers. but i digress. let’s get back to the high republic!

there are two jedi padawans that are fat or fat-adjacent in high republic media: imri cantaros and ram jomaram. and they’re written in such a loving, respectful way i cry when i think about it.

i don’t want to make a huge analysis or anything, but i’d really like to share a couple of my oh-my-god-this-character-is-fat-and-i-love-them-so-much moments.

that’s ram, who has appearances in: the rising storm, race to crashpoint tower, high republic adventures, trail of shadows (in one panel lmao), midnight horizon.

Ram hated fighting. Well--he'd never done it, but he hated the idea of it. It felt like his body refused to cooperate any time even a practice battle was called for. Lightsaber training and Jedi combat maneuvers were his two worst areas, and the very thought of going face to face with an enemy made him jittery. (race to crashpoint tower)

but even though he says he hates it or can’t do it, he’s good at it!

that’s imri! he has major appearances in: a test of courage, out of the shadows, mission to disaster. he’s not as explicitly fat as ram (and for some reason his depiction in the high republic comic is... not the way he’s described in the novels lol) but i’m absolutely counting him.

Imri was tall and broad-shouldered and his hefty frame was a perfect match for his master's. He had pale skin, a mop of golden hair, kind brown eyes, and an uncanny knack for perceiving the feelings and thoughts of those around him. (out of the shadows)

and:

Imri was relieved to see that there were no durga berries today. They were delicious, but Master Nyla had been hard pressed to find a tabard in his size, and he didn't want to tempt disaster by eating another one. (mission to disaster)

also, in mission to disaster he’s constantly eating or talking about food and it’s so incredibly delightful.

i love these two boys so much and it’s just really, really neat that the high republic writers are giving us at least crumbs of diverse body types on top of everything else.
