Okay. Watched it. Loved it.

New theory—Nandor is performing for the camera. We've all been played. (A bit).

Yes, Nandor enjoys being a dumbass because life is more fun (and moves faster) when you don't take it too seriously. And he HAS been "sleepwalking" (dissociating) for a lot of his life.

But Nandor is waking up. And becoming aware... And technology is scary.

These vampires are filmed practically 24/7 and recently there has been major consequences due to them being filmed (doco or not). It would make sense for Nandor to be cautious—to give the documentary what it wants from him as a form of contingency.

After all, it is easier to play off BREAKING VAMPIRE LAWS when you're just the goof ball when, say, someone equally powerful starts asking questions...

We never saw Oswalt actually die too. I think he was hired to play himself (or right place right time) and Nandor used him to set up his "change of heart" after demonstrating he WAS totalllyyyyyy going to kill Guillermo...

(not).

I still believe Nandor knew Guillermo had transformed. Does not mean he wasn't hurt. He was. But he was too quick on the up take and fix to be winging it like usual.

We saw a glimpse of the real Nandor today.

He is manipulative. He is in control.

...He is Guillermo's Master.

And i think thats the core of it

This whole series, from the start, has been about turning an unhealthy relationship dynamic—a faux reflection of a desired real connection— into one that works.

And this is why I think this season ends on a REALLY good note and why I disagree with people saying "sunrise sunset".

The Vampire Dynamic has officially and irrevocably altered.

Guillermo is now an equal to the vampires (he has been for a while now, in truth). He also now knows where his line is and must discover what he wants for the "rest of his life" and how Nandor will fit in that.

And Nandor is FULLY SUPPORTING this.

We have reached a possible healthy point of their D/S relationship for the first time.

Because Guillermo WANTS to be submissive to Nandor. He wants to adore, worship even, and to take care of his love. And Nandor has finally proven he is capable of meeting this gift by offering in return REAL guidance and protection (along with his own adoration).

This is BIG.

Guillermo is no longer Nandor's familiar (or bodyguard). Nandor has no need to help him—let alone go out of his way to guide him and assure his wellbeing. Nandor acted out of love and showed his hands.

I think next season we're going to see the BIG council back. I think Nandor and Guillermo are going to explore the non-sexual kinks of their relationship and hopefully discover a resolution to it—human, vampire, or whatever—that will allow them to "romantically walk off into the sunset together".
