Who in Naruto would stand on business and not text their ex or situationship back and who actually would

ABSOLUTELY texting their ex:

Naruto, which is canon, I think. I've little knowledge of Boruto, but I'm pretty sure he and Sasuke exchange carrier pigeons, like, all the time. Naruto would text an ex without any prompting, let alone texting them back.

Sakura has shockingly little self-esteem or respect or dignity when it comes to romance, and she's more than willing to entertain anyone interested in her who isn't a total uggo (re: Rock Lee and any other not-conventionally attractive suitor).

Deidara has no concept of boundaries or closure. He thinks he can just keep sending a stream of consciousness. If his ex ever texts him first, he's going to town on the diary entries sort of texts. He's opening his notes app and copying and pasting all the weird poetry he's been writing since the break up.

Sasuke, but ONLY if it's Naruto.

Kakashi wouldn't text an ex back, but if he got a text, he'd show up in person and just...see what happens.

Choji wouldn't know how to not text back, because he'd feel mean, given their shared history. It's anyone's guess as to whether or not he still has romantic intentions.

Rock Lee is texting back with pleasure. A splendid new friend out of the ruins of romance has emerged!

Hashirama and Madara. Just...just look at them.

Jiraiya, in hopes of a booty call coming out of it.

Tempted, but should pull through:

Ino would love to text back just for the drama, but has a healthy amount of self-respect. If there's no reason to reconcile, there's no reason for her to talk, she can sadly admit.

Hinata would, ordinarily, want to text back, but she might just get too stressed and her teammates could find her in time to rebuke the ex's efforts.

Similarly, Itachi has poetry at the ready to send through, but Kisame might just eat his phone to prevent the Young Adult Meltdown that would ensue.

Hidan, if his feeling are well and truly hurt enough, wouldn't text back. But...well, he might show up to their location and give Jashin a real good day.

Kurenai went years without Asuma showing his face, whilst he was running around defying his father, so she should be fine ignoring the siren song of an ex text. But then...

Oh, Neji has paragraphs upon paragraphs to send living right there in his notes app, but he shan't. He won't. He'll just send them rancid vibes whenever they encounter one another in public for life.

Not texting back:

Shikamaru hasn't the energy to entertain this. Things ended for a reason, and he shan't make himself miserable doing a back and forth in the aftermath. Blocked.

Kiba's sister won't let him text his exes back. She blocks them on his phone as soon as the break up happens. Kiba has no idea they tried to reach out.

Asuma has no interest in texting unless it's for a booty call.

Gaara is too afraid of his wounded pride unleashing the monster within, so he doesn't entertain highly emotional interactions like this.

Kakuzu is straight up tracing the text back to his ex and turning them in for bounty, no matter how meager it is.

Shino agonizes over it, but he prevails.

Tenten talks it over with Neji, who just beats up her ex for her instead.

Genma has deleted their number as soon as they stopped hooking up. Who dis?

Pretty Flower - {Neji Hyuga}

Part 2 to this (I’m sorry in advance/ major angst)

Laying down on the grass you stared up at the sky trying to focus on training but your mind kept going back to that night. Your fingers ghosted above your lips, face blushing each time a memory of the way he kissed you flashed through your mind.

“Y/n?” You flinched and sat up seeing the fifth hokage walking closer and smiling once she recognized who you were. “Fifth Hokage. It’s great to see you.” You spoke in a respectful tone quickly standing up and greeting her, she walked closer and to your surprise her arms engulfed you in a hug.

“What’s going on?” You asked patting her back awkwardly. “I just read your file. Prior to living here you’ve been through a lot…you’ve lost so many people. Is it true that you were on a mission when the fourth hokage died? And that you almost died on a recent mission?” You pulled away hearing her questions.

“I’d rather not talk about it Lady Tsunade.” She let out an exhaustive sigh then placed a hand on your cheek, “if you ever feel like talking then come to me, but for now I’m with holding you from missions.” “What?!” You stepped closer to try and protest but she held her hand up to stop you. “You have no one left. You’re being too lax with your life and I won’t have you killing yourself because you have no one to come back too. Use this time to heal and train. That’s all.” With that she walked away and the tears you were holding started to fall.

Out of pure frustration you punched a nearby tree as hard as you could with a chakra filled fist. You ended up taking out more than one tree but you didn’t care, the blood dripping from your hand didn’t force you to care either. Deciding to call it a night you were walking through the village towards your home with the tears kept blurring your eyes and you ended up bumping into someone.

“I’m sorry.” You said in a whisper gently patting their chest before walking away, it took another few minutes for you to get home but when you did it was like all hell broke loose. Continuous tears fell down your face as the impending feeling of loneliness crept onto you. She was right, you truly had no one…you were alone and you couldn’t do anything about it.

The only family you had died while you were laying around on a mission because you didn’t feel like coming home. And all your life you pushed away affection afraid to feel something more that what you’re used too. Pain. For the rest of the night you cried over things you had no control over.

“Has anybody seen Y/n?” Sakura asked walking up to the group, Naruto, Choji, Lee and Ten looked at each other and shook their heads no. “She’s probably sulking at home.” Shikamaru said taking a bite of whatever he was eating leaving the group confused. “What do you mean sulking?” Ten asked.

“Lady Tsunade told her she’s not allowed to go on any missions for a while.” “WHY??” Sakura sat up, “she’s being doing missions since she was ten…why would she stop her?” Choji contemplated. “Exactly. Do you guys know how injured she got during her last mission?” Shikamaru paused looking at the group who shook their head no.

“She almost died, she was in a coma for three months.” He finished his statement then stuffing some more food in his mouth, “No way, she said she liked the scenery that’s why she stayed.” “Lied.” He quickly responded.

“If that is true how come you’re the only one who knows that?” Naruto asked rubbing his chin in confusion, “Because, Tsunade made me go check on her whenever she stopped checking in. I’m the one who reported back to her.” The whole group went silent, after a few moments Neji who was sitting there silent stood up and left the area.

His feet took him straight to your entrance doorsteps. He thought it was weird how you ran into him a couple of days ago and didn’t even recognize that it was him, yes you had tears in your eyes but it was just different for him. It was weird, he was worried about you. More than worried, he was scared that you’d do something to yourself.

He knocked on the door and waited for a moment then knocked again and still no answer. Using his byakugan he found you in a room knees pressed against your chest and your face hidden. He knocked again and when he saw you didn’t even flinch he forcefully opened the door. You still didn’t move, he closed the door behind himself and quickly walked to where you were.

He stood by the doorframe watching you sit there crying. You didn’t even look up to see who the intruder was, you just sat there crying. Neji bent down and pushed his arms under your body to pick you up, he held you flush against his body and brought you to your bedroom.

Laying you down on the bed he was about to feel your forehead to see if you had a fever but you turned your back to him and silently cried. “Y/n-” “just leave Neji.” You harshly spoke voice cracking when you said his name, he stood there contemplating what to do. He’s never seen you this vulnerable, even when you came back from your mission to find the only person you ever really loved was dead. You never broke down, even after years.

“I never listened to you when we were kids so why would I do it now?” He could see you roll yours eyes but that didn’t stop him from pushing you aside and laying in the bed next to you. He pulled your blanket over your body then maneuvered both of your bodies to where you were cuddling up against him. “What are you doing.” You said trying stop your voice from cracking again but failed miserably, uncontrollable tears fell from your eyes once again. You hid your face in his neck and just basked in his embrace.

This was the first time someone ever held you, it was an unfamiliar feeling and your body just broke down. Neji was happy, he was happy that the dam you build was finally collapsing and that he was the one that was here for you. When your sniffles went quiet he glanced down noticing you fell asleep, you looked exhausted. Like you hadn’t slept in days, trying to keep quiet he laid you against your pillow and left you alone in your bedroom.

When you woke up hours later you were met with an empty bed, your face dropped tears prickling in your eyes again but stopped when you heard his voice. “Don’t cry again, I’m right here.” Neji walked into the room with a tray filled with your favorite foods and a couple of freshly picked flowers.

He set the tray down on your lap and then sat down in the chair that was positioned right next to your bed. “Thank you.” You said noticing how dark it was outside, “you’ve been asleep all day, I came in to wake you up.” You thanked him again and started taking a bite out of the food. Your cheeks started to heat up from how good it was, it had been so long since you had home cooked meals that your eyes glasses over.

“Don’t cry. If you want me to cook for you again just ask.”

That statement repeated in your head as you stood there in the rain infront of the tombstone with the small child pressed against your chest. “Neji…” the tears falling down your cheek were being masked by the rain, thankfully so that your daughter wouldn’t see her mother crying.

Your husband alway told you to be strong and to not cry. You weren’t alone anymore, he promised to stay by your side but he lied. If he was supposed to stay by your side then why were you and your two year old daughter standing infront of his grave right now wishing we could be have his home made curry…

it was all because of lee’s stupid idea to test the true scope of neji’s byakugan🙄 that kid doesn’t rest man

he wanted to use the village as the training grounds and see how far neji could see to find him

and against all of neji’s protests, guy sensei agreed becuz just like rock lee that man doesn’t rest either😑

anywayz neji has his byakugan activated and his head on a swivel searching for lee

and he just so happens to stroll into your part of the village🙃

and as he looks up at the rooftops of the buildings and stuff his eyes land on you stepping into your room in only a towel

neji tried to tear his eyes away cuz he felt weird for staring but for some reason he couldn’t

it wasn’t until he saw the towel drop that he finally tore his eyes away and ran in the completely opposite direction of your house.

he was red in the face for the rest of the day and his team just couldn’t figure out why😭😭

and they never would becuz he def taking this to the grave

as we all know rock lee is very loud😭😭

I mean it’s not his fault!! with the power of youth surging thru his veins he can’t really control his volume!!

but as you can probably imagine when rock lee walked in on you half naked changing out of your ninja gear he just like…… started screaming😭😭

it was silent for about 0.5 seconds when he first walked in because like “wow😧 y/n no clothing🤯” yk

but then he just started screaming in shock

and then when you started screaming in shock he screamed even louder😭😭

this went on for like a whole minute before he screamed out an apology and ran out of there🏃🏃

Why NejiTen should be canon

Before I say anything, I can recognise that NejiTen is not canon, although I want it to be lol. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, so I ask that you respect mine, and if you want to challenge it, you can *politely* do that in the comments.

The major countering ships to NejiTen are: NejiHina and LeeTen, so I will talk you through why these ships don't work out.

First with LeeTen (because I don't want you quitting after the drama of NejiHina). Lee and Tenten are seen as very close throughout the series, though Tenten makes it clear that she finds Lee annoying and hot-blooded. This is the opposite to Neji, who Tenten seems to admire a lot, since she liked to train with him, and even put on lipstick in the manga for his chūnin exam finals. They seem like the perfect best friend duo, in my opinion. Romance doesn't need to be involved in every since best friend duo, there are enough of them already. In the Boruto series, Lee is seen with his son, Metal Lee. Many think that Tenten is the mother, due to the eye shape, and I think she could easily be. I mean, she's the only kunoichi in Konoha in the same age group as Lee (I think, I haven't fact checked yet), and the girl in his team. Tenten is probably the easiest choice for Lee's wife that Kishimoto could've made. However, if they were to be married and have had a son together, they would now be divorced. This therefore means, that if they had got married, then the relationship would not have worked out, and LeeTen would've failed. If they had not got together, then Lee would've married a different woman, and even if Lee then divorced that mystery woman, they clearly do not have mutual feelings for each other any more. They might have had feelings for each other, at different stages of their lives, but they either both grew out of their crushes or it was only one-sided to begin with.

Second. The NejiHina incident. I'm sorry, but I will have to go on for even longer than LeeTen, because some people don't understand that this ship is incest, and I'll tell you why. Excluding the fact that Neji had strong resentment towards Hinata for quite a period of time, they still wouldn't work out. Their relationship only evolved into *family* love, as confirmed by Kishimoto, just as Boruto loves Himawari, or Temari loves Gaara. What's wrong with a "big brother-little sister love"? Why must everyone make everything romantic? Neji cares deeply for his cousin, as does Hinata. She calls him 'Big Brother Neji', showing that she only sees him as her older brother. Besides, Hinata was so deeply in love with Naruto, she would've never agreed to the marriage. Moving on, a lot of people, from a range of cultures, some of which invite cousin relationships, think that Neji and Hinata getting married and producing heirs is okay. Some of them (purposely?) forget that the reason you don't have kids with your sibling is because it increases the chance of genetic defects dramatically. Although having kids with your cousin is legal (at least where I am), it still has quite a high risk. These people try and back it up by saying that the Hyūga clan would've wanted a pure Hyūga-blooded heir. Hm... Uchiha clan, anyone? Sure, this was common, but there are plenty Uchihas that are so distantly related that it would be fine to have offspring (such as Itachi and Izumi). The same could be said about the Hyūgas. Maybe Neji would've been their best option for a pure blood husband, but there would've been other choices, more people that were much further distanced in relation. I've got this far, and I haven't even mentioned another key fact: you know that Hiashi and Hizashi are twin brothers, right? Identical twins, to be exact. Lemme show you something: "Identical (i.e., monozygotic, or MZ) twins share 100 percent of their genes". You see that? It means that Hiashi and Hizashi share the same DNA. And this means that Neji and Hinata are genetically closer than cousins. They're actually genetically half-siblings. Hm. The Hyūgas are smart enough to figure out that it probably isn't the best idea to inbreed them, right? Well. That doesn't matter, because even if they overlooked all this incestuous evidence, there's this. Hinata isn't even the current heiress. If Neji survived the war, he would not have married Hinata in Boruto. If the Hyūga clan forced him to marry the heiress, and have children to keep a pure bloodline, he would've married Hanabi. Hanabi is the current heiress, so she would be the one married to Neji. Got it yet? Neji and Hinata would never have happened.

The last reason NejiTen should be canon: their chemistry. Tenten is shown to greatly admire and respect Neji, constantly calling him a genius, and she has blushed because of him in the manga several times. He believed in her abilities enough to sit under the practice dummy she was hitting with kunai. Neji comments that her fight would be interesting, showing that he thinks she is a good fighter. He is also shocked at her defeat, further proving that. In the first databook, Kishimoto confirms that Neji and Tenten trained every day for a month in preparation for Neji's chūnin match against Naruto. During this training, Neji reverse engineered and perfected the moves only reserved for the main branch of the Hyūga clan, mainly the Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms and the Eight Trigrams Palms: Revolving Heaven. You should also note that while all the other contestants trained with jōnin, Neji chose to train with Tenten. "During one of their training sessions, birds are shown flying in the sky and Tenten tells him that she is exhausted and can't keep going. Neji responds that he thinks he used too much of his chakra and faints. Tenten is seen running to him and asks him if he's alright." Tenten wore a different outfit to watch Neji's match, and as I said, in the manga she also wore lipstick. After his fight with Kidomaru, Neji remembers seeing Lady Tsunade with Tenten. In the Shippuden, during Team Gai's fight with Kisame, Neji rushes to Tenten's side when she seems to struggle in the Water Prison.

In the image above, it shows the two finishing each other's sentences. They can communicate with little dialogue and know what the other is thinking with only one word. Tenten winks at Neji and invites him to go to the bathhouse with her, both in the anime and the manga. Later, after Neji's death, in the manga, she expresses anger, thinks about Neji and asks why he left her. In her memory, Neji doing the "nice guy pose," which has been performed in the past by Gai, Naruto and Lee. The pose signifies that one will keep their promise until death, as Lee states to Sakura during the beginning of the Sasuke retrieval arc after Naruto does the pose and promises to her that he will get Sasuke back. Neji doing this pose before Tenten implies that he promised her something that he intended to fulfill until his death. In the anime, Tenten holds her hands in a prayer and asks why he left her as she remembers Neji doing this "nice guy pose" to her, then she walks away crying and says that she's never going to forgive him. The implied promise that Neji made to her is not known, but it was significant enough for Neji, who tends to be stoic and serious, to use the cheerful and significant pose his "hot-blooded" sensei and teammate have used in the past. When caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Tenten dreams of more mature versions of Lee and Gai as well as Neji being alive and by her side. She's the only person whose Tsukuyomi dream involves not only Neji being alive, but being with him.

They are shown constantly beside one another throughout the entire story, similar to the couples Asuma and Kurenai, and Shikamaru and Temari. While Neji is very formal and strict, he is shown to be comfortable around Tenten. He isn't shown to mind when she teases him or winks at him. He is also rarely portrayed as a character who apologizes to anyone, but he is shown apologizing to Tenten. In both the manga and anime, birds are present during the scenes where Neji and Tenten are shown alone together. In the manga, the only male character Tenten is shown alone with is Neji.

Other Trivia include:

Tenten's name and Neji's themes compliment each other. "Tenten" literally translates to "heaven heaven" in Chinese, while "Hyūga" translates to "place in heaven." In the new Chūnin Exams arc, Neji is shown holding two heaven scrolls with the characters 天天

Tenten's weapons shop in Boruto is named 忍具転転転, which directly translates to "Ninja Tools Turn Turn Turn." Furthermore, the characters "具転転" in the name translate to "revolving." Thus, the name of Tenten's weapons shop can be a reference to one of Neji's primary moves, Eight Trigrams Palms Revolving Heaven.

During the blank period, Tenten wears a uniform that includes a dress with a flame pattern similar to the flame in the Hyūga clan's emblem.

And maybe Sasuke was bubblier than his, you know, brooding antihero vibes that we have now. But I can’t imagine it’s too wild.

Unless this is a canon divergent AU in which the first thing that comes to Shikako’s mind to say to this soft, smiling 6 year old boy is that his entire family is soon going to be killed by his hero older brother because a creepy old man has weird self esteem issues, bloodlimit envy, and possibly a decades long unresolved crush on either his Uchiha-hating sensei or his Uchiha teammate.

Then, yeah--Congratulations, Shikaku, Your Daughter Is A Prophet.

So, okay, telling a 6 year old Sasuke that his entire family is soon going to be killed by his hero older brother because a creepy old man has weird self esteem issues, bloodlimit envy, and possibly a decades long unresolved crush on either his Uchiha-hating sensei or his Uchiha teammate ISN’T GREAT but, also, as long as you heed her words, things can be fixed.

I’m also just wondering how much of this AU becomes… like… well, she’s trapped herself into this role of prophet and it’s true that she knows A LOT of the future. But also, because things keep changing, she knows increasingly less.

You know what would help in making sure she can keep up with information? A spy network. You know who would make good spies? The grateful members of Konoha’s two powerful eye-based blood limits.

chapter 5

THE BABY?

your hands were so jittery. you felt like you were about to make the biggest decision of your life, but no. you’re just meeting niki. his name almost makes you nervous, the sounds of continuous stepping come into the room, is that him?

the door opens to reveal the familiar black haired male, he bows at everyone including you, as he walks to sit down next to you for the filming of the intro.

the producers force you to talk to eachother, saying “chemistry is important”, meaning unfortunately meaning you have to talk to riki.

“hi” you smile nervously.

“hi, you’re y/n right?” he asks, hoping he got your name right.

“oh yeah! and you’re niki, have we met before?” you pretend to wonder, as you barely manage to keep eye contact. niki suddenly remembers where he knew you from. as if someone put it in his brain in just the right moment. he remembers being so nervous about management when they would see you in his jacket during his first comeback,

he smiles at the memory, “yeah i believe we have, nice to see you again.”

“it’s nice to see you too” you break eye contact, pretending to be looking for the baby you were about to take care of.

“do you know what the baby looks like?” he taps your shoulder, you jolt at the feeling, “sorry i shouldn’t have done that.” he quickly apologizes, realizing his mistake.

“o-oh it’s totally fine! i just wasn’t expecting it. no i have no idea honestly.” he chuckles at your statement, glancing through the open window of the room. soon a few crew members walk in, the baby being held by someone as excitement bubbles in your chest. you almost running to the baby but contain yourself.

“hello everyone, this is yujin, she’s nine months and this is her mother nayeon, this is the baby you two will he taking care of so please treat her nicely, nayeon will have some words now” she turns to yujin’s mom as she starts talking, “please take care of her well, i brought her toys and packages of milk as well” she smiles at you two. “yujin-ah let’s go meet them!” nayeon smiles at her, pointing her head towards you two as she walks up to you, waving.

you stand up to meet nayeon half way, niki following, you turn your voice a few pitches higher to talk, “hi yujin! you’re so cute! do you wanna go play?”

niki has never really babysat for anyone, so he was frozen there, looking at the baby. yujin nods as she grabs your finger, you grab a hold of her, saying thank you of course then bringing her to to another room, you signal niki to follow as he walks towards you.

yujin hides in fear of niki, he is pretty tall, you stop in your tracks realizing why she’s scared.

“it’s okay yujin! he’s very friendly, look!” you give him a fist bump, as you try to get yujin to do so too. shyly, she gives him a fist bump as she buries her head in your chest, as you rub her back a bit.

“okay what do you want to play yujin?”

you set her down on the mat, she points at the dolls she brought with her. you grab one. she speaks utter nonsense as you pretend you understand, answering with little hums and all sorts of noises.

“okay let’s start filming everyone!” the producer exclaims, setting up the camera.

Do you think that narratively, Hinata and/or Sakura could be redeemed?

Anybody can be redeemed in a fictional story. Depends on how you would justify it within the narrative, keeping in mind their characterisation and arcs. Sakura had so many chances in the manga where she was deliberately positioned so many times as someone who has been made to realize her mistakes and drawbacks. From the beginning. Right in her introduction, when Sasuke schools her as to how to treat others (Naruto in this case) who weren't fortunate like her in terms of family, then during the bell test, he again makes her realize how important team work is (with the bento scene where he offers Naruto his lunch seeing which Sakura does the same hence following his example), and the true meaning of team work cannot be found in the books she loves to mug up but on the battle ground, where you gotta approach things with well honed instincts and empathy. Which she was never written to develop or nurture. She decides she would save Sasuke, lol. In part two, every single interaction between Sasuke and Sakura makes Sasuke despise or dismiss her even more. Her arc remains the same. When Sasuke and Naruto are about to fight in vote two, Sakura confesses to Sasuke and basically asks him to stop for HER sake. So they can go back to how it was together. She still doesn't understand what Sasuke thinks like or feels like. Neither does she attempt to. All her proclamations to Sasuke focus on her happiness, her needs, and not Sasuke's. She realized how tragic Naruto's life has been, what with him being a jinchuuriki, but her treatment of Naruto still remained the same. She was consistently written to have had chances to be better, but it all led to nothing and she stayed the same. She could have been nicer to Ino after she helped her in the forest of death arc. Nope, she was a typical 'mean girl' to her in the one on one chuunin exams. the way she taunts Ino despite Ino warning her. The Hypocrisy. Oof. And she is still the same jealous and insecure person in Gaiden, especially regarding Ino. If nothing else, after Sakura sees Sasuke rescuing Naruto from the lava dimension while entirely ignoring her, was a good place where she could have been made to realize that one sided love doesn't work, you can't force someone to feel for you, she could have been made to realize she needs to have some self esteem (and not the faux type, which convinces her to think that she has reached Naruto and Sasuke's level only to be proven wrong so cruelly right after lol). The right emotional beats for that to happen were all there. So many dominoes fall for her in war arc, there were so many moments that could have narratively led to coming of age for Sakura's character and she could move on and grow up as a result. Not to mention the genjutsu. 💀. But she was never meant to be that person, Kishi was relentless, still is.

Same with Hinata. She could have been made to realise what Neji went through, and really understand him. She could have actually been made to think about what the shinobi and clan system translates into for the less fortunate, the branch Hyuuga family for instance. She was positioned as a rich and privileged citizen of Konoha, member of a powerful clan, a potential leader who would replace her father in time, who could have been in a position of power to actually change the status quo, especially after Neji's touching speech during chuunin exams. But nope. Even after he died, she was busy adding the memory of holding Naruto's large, warm hand to her spank bank. She could have been made to realise how pointless one sided love/infatuation is after Pein arc was concluded but still nothing. No realisation even after such a humiliating scene. Still dumb as the rock she tripped over during war arc and then with the same levels of dumbness, the attempt at trying to summon Neji's ghost to help Naruto. Lol. Hinata doesn't have as many moments as Sakura but that's because she has much less visibility in the manga as compared. But regardless, a good writer can write any character to be redeemed, it can be done.

If you have watched 'Orange is the New Black', you can see it so very clearly. A show where all the characters are written so realistically, with such meaningful nuances loyal to the show's realistic world building, which is an American prison, their arcs are so beautifully established, what with characters such as Pennsatucky, Maria, Black Cindy, Fig, and even Luschek, all these characters were redeemed even though they committed horrible actions in the story. But their arcs were treated in a manner where they were redeemed at the end, who were made to transform into better people despite their unholy deeds and it's all believable narratively and arcwise.

And what's ironic about Sakura and Hinata's characters is that they were pointedly written to have had multiple chances to demonstrate that they had matured, several scenes were written to facilitate that, but still nothing. Zilch. The same narrative motifs were repeated till the end for both Hinata and Sakura. Kishi was resolute about humiliating them in the most creative ways, make no mistake. We are talking about a story where characters such as Oro and Kabuto were redeemed. No matter how many cold blooded murders they committed, no matter how immoral and ruthless and cruel they were. But not Sakura and Hinata. That says a lot about how bullheaded Kishi was about portraying Hinata and Sakura as the kind of women who would force gay men to marry them and find happiness in it by hook or crook, no matter how loveless their marriage actually is. Well how happy are they now? Lol

You either going to get two gay-men leading the village and a new system because their bond was the entire answer against war or nothing at all and then just... die ig while Naruto sleeps his years away and Sasuke is stuck in a damn tree 🤷🏻‍♀️

Naruto and Gaara although it probably won't last long. Naruto'd probably settle for some black-haired girl and make her cut her hair so it reminds him of Sasuke if he squints really hard and doesn't think about it and covers his ears, oh wait-

Charasuke and Dark Naruto, fem version. Menma and Zetsu. Since non of it is Canon anyway, Sasuke and his pet lizard from the filler story. They seemed to have an 'okay' connection, yeah? Well, ShikaTema is fine, it's understandable and predicted. I don't even know who Kiba, Shino, Lee or Choji are with lmao. I can look it up, but... I really don't even remember :') I think one of them is with the Kumo girl, right? Sai and Kumo girl would've been better though. They can argue about loyalty and stuff. Wouldn't she kinda think it was hot how he stopped her fist from plunging into Naruto's 'refusing to talk about Sasuke's face?' That's the extend of their development, but it's 'Boruto', the bar is low here. Or.. if we ignore the homophobia for a second, Sai and Gaara. I mean whatever. Size matters obviously to Sai and Gaara had huge bde before his questionable haircut (no I don't think him becoming Kazekage made him weak) and I also don't think Gaara's lack of expressive emotion currently would be too overwhelming for someone that doesn't understand them much. Not a lot of energy in that relationship though but Gaara is very beautiful to draw let's be honest but the lack of eyebrow does make it challenging. Or Sai and Deidara. A bit difficult because one isn't there, but still, just throwing it out there. Or even Kankuro would be good. Gosh, Sai has so many options... and then he ended up with someone he thought was ugly ;-; (Ino is very beautiful though so he's wrong, but still.) Idk, I think Kiba should've married a cat-girl or the blonde one from Kumo. Lee should be with someone that appreciates effort especially now that his effort is proven absolutely worthless -.- and is seen as a loser again which destroyed the poor guy. Well, I wouldn't have minded Tenten, but... GaaLee 👌👀? Aren't they both single fathers? Or? Idk. Maybe Sai Gaara and Lee together, why not. Throw the Shi guy from Kumo in there also, he kinda looks like blonde Sai. Even Naruto thought he was handsome as he used him for inspiration for his sexy reversed harem Jutsu. Actually, Tenten and Kotetsu would've been a good surprise. It makes no sense Canon-wise and I don't think it even works age-wise, but I approve otherwise and they're both weaponized. I rhyme and reason. Ino and Suigetsu. Okay, hear me out. He can water all her plants. That's all, that's it. Sakura and Kankuro? I mean, by 'Boruto's low standards, they could've made it work and they'd even have history. And fine, even Sasori could've been interesting a little. Or that girl from the Sound from the beginning. Or the guy. Or Kimimaro. Or Kabuto. We're not too difficult here, pick one, but I guess some are dead though. Everyone but Sasuke ffs. Obviously Neji should've lived. Well I'm okay with Tenten or even Lee, but it doesn't make too much sense to me. Actually, let's ship him with Haku for no other reason than them looking good together. Or Neji and Juugo, maybe Juugo'd be able to set the bird free iykwim. I'd say Hinata and her beloved 'Oro-chan'. (Yes she called him that in some novel.) Both creepy as hell. Except one of them is somewhat likable and it ain't Hinata. But age-wise that doesn't work. Or, maybe someone can make her a Mecha Naruto, that's a bit more appropriate. Not much, but still. I'm sure she has the money and I don't think she really minds because she knows Naruto as much as she'd know a robot version of him. I see no difference there. OR, Kankuro's puppet. That way she can always walk next to the one she 'loves' as it follows her anyway with some basic puppet training and have the sentimental wood around for comfort when she reminisces about the time she thought Naruto wasn't gay. No need to be shy either as it doesn't say much. Then Naruto can visit tree-Sasuke in peace without a creepy face glancing up at him from behind it only to be ignored anyway.

Or maybe a lousy Daimyo because we can't have any less than a Hero or royalty for the princess, of course. CHOJI ACTUALLY should've married the daughter from the ramen stand. Idk her age though.. Or the owner of the BBQ restaurant? If he didn't already. Or, it would've been good if there was a younger version of Tsunade, I think they'd get along. Akamaru and one of Kakashi's dogs- sorry, Ninken. I think Pakkun is too old maybe. Idk what he's into. Maybe Punpun? Am I missing anyone? Oh lmao, Shino ;-; He would've been good with Fu, Jinchuriki of the 7-tails, the flying bug thing. Guess that's not possible either, but we can't have them single and focussing on the world either so... we gotta create imaginary filler babies somehow. Karin with that other guy who emphasized with her during her confession-thing. I mean, what other reason do you need. That's true love right there. Kakashi and Shizune? Kakashi and Iruka? Kakashi and Gai? Kakashi and Genma? Kakashi and Obit- oh no. Kakashi and secret-ANBU waifu? Kakashi and actress of the movie adaptation of his ero-novel? Kakashi living his best aro life?

I mean, we could always create a card game if you will and match whatever comes up first. There'd be no difference really.

Also Konoha sucks ass and the village ain't worth shit - the ANBU black ops can NOT do their fucking job even if their lives depended on it (minato and kushina died because of their incompetency), the village gets attacked 1,000,000,000,000 times, they bullied the MC Naruto for being a Jinchuriki and they are ungrateful bastards to Naruto, they massacred an ostracized clan (the Uchiha), the Hyuga side branch owns slaves, best girl Konan's village got destroyed by the Leaf Village and gave her PTSD. Warnings: jealousy themes. Mean Neji it’s a warning on itself. Reader is gender neutral! Not proofread (i’m sleep deprived and writing this on my phone, pls be nice to me ;3;)

Sasuke:

🍅 Jealous Sasuke is subtle. You can barely notice the change in his demeanor.

🍅 In part it’s because he doesn’t want you to notice. He knows you’ll have a field day with it, and also because he doesn’t feel jealousy often.

🍅 I think that Sasuke is quite confident on himself and he also trusts you a lot. In the rare occasions he is jealous, it’s because he has real reasons to feel like that.

🍅 Let’s imagine you are out on a date and he notices some other person eyeing you with particular intentions. Let’s be real, you are GORGEOUS and is not rare to have eyes glued on you at all times. Sasuke changes into full protective mode, snaking his arm around your waist and pulling you close, showing them that you are happily taken.

🍅 It’s when he gets extra possesive that you notice he actually feels jealous and he hates it because usually means you will tease him to no tomorrow.

🍅 After those occasions, you go back to your shared home and, when he is extra clingy while cuddling you on the couch, you strike the question and he just freezes.

🍅 “I-i’m not jealous, idiot. I’m just cold and you feel warm” Denial is a river in Egypt, they say.

Naruto:

🍥 Naruto is very vocal about his feelings so, when he is jealous, you notice right away.

🍥 He is not insecure either, he trusts you too. “It’s them I don’t trust, babe” is what he says.

🍥 He doesn’t make scenes, or anything, but whenever you are being pestered with unwanted attention, he goes into full peacock mode, showing off in front of his now love rivals to show them they are not on his level.

🍥 And there you stand, laughing the whole time, with hearts instead of eyes.

🍥 “Why would they want you if they already have everything with me!” He is smug with his words, and he is absolutely right. You are head over heels with the future hokage, there is no way you’ll fall for anyone else.

🍥 His sparkly personality is it’s best weapon, he doesn’t even need to get violent or make you feel uncomfortable.

Sakura:

🌸 Sakura tries to be subtle about her jealousy, but you notice right away.

🌸 Whenever she feels jealous, she goes silent and her spark dims a little bit. It’s obvious when she suddenly stops talking and fixes her eyes on the ground.

🌸 It’s cannon that Sakura is a little bit insecure about herself, be it her appearance, her abilities or her personality, she often questions those aspects whenever she feels you are paying more attention to someone else.

🌸 She goes into full overthinking mode, falling down an infinite spiral of insecurity, nitpicking at every little thing she doesn’t like about herself, front and backflipping into conclusions, panicking, thinking how you’ll definitely leave her for somebody else.

🌸 It’s not true, of course. You love her dearly and there is no way on earth that you’ll love someone as you love her. You are happy to reassure her to get her out of her self destroying way of thinking, kissing her sweetly and telling her how she is the only one for you.

🌸 It’s with this that she is convinced you two do belong together and that no one will stand in the way of your love.

Neji:

🌀 Neji is weird about his jealousy.

🌀 He doesn’t share it with you or with anyone. He tends to keep it to himself until it gets annoying and makes him snap.

🌀 He is not aggressive, nor violent. Neji is petty. He will bark snarky remarks towards the people that flirt with you so shamelessly and destroys their confidence.

🌀 “Neji-kun, don’t be so mean!” You tell him, grabbing on his arm as you two stroll on your way home from Ichiraku Ramen. “Hmph, It’s their fault for thinking they had a chance with you.”

🌀 We all know he is the master of sass when he is annoyed. He gets extra mean when he is jealous.

🌀 Let’s say that this alone is enough to send the message about how is best not to cross him in the wrong way.

Rock Lee:

🍃 Lee is also very vocal about his Jealousy.

🍃 He is also very proactive about it. For him, it’s a chance to be better and better every time so you’ll never have to look to anyone else.

🍃 Lee works hard in every aspect of his life and that includes your relationship. Whenever he feels he has a rival and the little bug of jealousy starts whispering on his ear, he takes it as a challenge to improve for him and for you.

🍃 “If y/n is getting flowers from guys in our village, then i’ll climb the highest peak in Konoha to get her the freshest mountain flowers!”

🍃 “If y/n is getting compliments from guys in our village, then i’ll write a thousand poems for them!”

🍃 He is running around the village with you on his arms, doing pushups with you on his back. He wants to show you and show everyone how he, being the strongest, will love you and protect you like you so deserve!

🍃 He has never and will never give up. There is no way in HELL he will hand you to someone else.

🍃 Every day he is becoming his best version just for you, which makes you fall in love with him over and over again.

"Um... sir... I don't think that is what you want to order," the barista says, his nose scrunched up as he looks me up and down.

"No, it is," I insist, glancing to the side as I replay the conversation I had with Lee. Two shots of expresso, four shots of orange juice, and two shots of creamer. Maybe Lee said four shots of expresso and two shots of orange juice... or was it three? I'm pretty sure he said two.

"Sir, I really don't think you want to mix expresso and orange juice."

"No, I'm sure that's what my friend said. He said it should taste tangy," I insist, letting out a sigh because of the worker trying to fight me on my order. What does he care what I order? It's my drink order, not his.

"I mean," the worker mumbles, tinting his head and widening his eyes a bit. "It will be tangy."

"Then that is the order I want."

"What if you ordered something else? If you're trying to go for an orange flavor you can get an orange lemonade," the worker tries to persuade me, upsetting me even more.

I just want my drinks made before I'm late. "Please just make my drinks," I mumble, rubbing my temples. I swear, this barista is giving me more of a headache than Lee does.

"If that's what you want, but just a reminder we don't do refunds."

"Ya, ya, ya," I mutter, tugging out my wallet to count out my total.

After paying, I slide to the side of the counter to wait for my drinks. As I wait, the four or so baristas scurry around each other, whispers passed back and forth and eyes flickering my way. Is Lee's drink suggestion that strange?

"Neji!" Lee's voice rings out, muffled by the big glass window he has himself pressed against. I swear, it's like my thoughts are just a setup for people to show up. "Neji!" He yells again, the bell of the door ringing as an undertone for his voice.

"Lee," I mumble, turning to the side as he races towards me.

"Neji!" He cheers again, jumping at me. His arms wrap around my shoulders as he shakes me around, Lee's energy at an all-time high. "Did you order already? Did you order the drink I recommended? After this are you going to see the girl? Are you? Are you?"

The whole time Lee rambles on, I'm being shaken by him, the most annoying of ways he gets his energy out. The whole time, more eyes fall on us, and 'cutesy' giggles fall from girls both on staff and in line. "I swear," whispers one of the baristas, she and another settled at the end of the counter as they pop lids onto the drinks in their hands. "Those two are so lucky they're cute."

"I know, right?" The other barista whispers, eyes glancing towards Lee and me. "At least their looks make up for their stupidity." Both girls giggle at their not-so-inside joke. Lee's recommendation isn't that stupid... is it?

"Neji?" The first girl calls, eyes scanning my name scribbled on one of the to-go cups.

"That's me," I call back, attempting to shake Lee off of me as I head towards the girl.

Her eyes jump up to mine, going wide as her cheeks go pink. "Oh... hi. Neji is such a cute name. I... ah..."

"I'm not interested, yad yad, I have a girlfriend, yad yad, I appreciate your interest," I grumble, taking my drinks from her before turning - more so dragging Lee as I inch away - to head towards the door.

Lee rambles on about how "unfair it is of me to get all the girls" and "wanting to try the coffee he recommended".

"If you release me, we can try it together, okay? Unhand me."

"Yes!" Lee cheers, letting me go before he bounces around. He doesn't need any more caffeine but if it keeps his touch off of me, then so be it. Besides, we'll be reporting for duty soon so his extra caffeine-induced hyperness won't be my problem. "Give me, give me, give me!"

"Hey! It's my coffee, I get to try it first." Once the sentence is out, I lift the cup to my mouth and take a sip of it. I hate coffee, it tastes terrible, and this cup tastes worse than usual.

"Okay! My turn!" He whines, snatching the cup I drank out of before pressing it to his lips. Lee gulps the liquid, his face slowly falling out of his usual smile.

When he pulls the cup away from his mouth, the brown liquid comes squirting out, spewing all over the road. "Ew, ew, ew!" Lee yells, running back and forth in front of me with his tongue hanging out. "Take your cup back! Take it back!" He whines, his words jumbled up by his tongue still hanging out.

I do as Lee asks, taking the to-go cup back from him. "I don't know how people drink coffee," I mutter, eyes ping-ponging as he keeps running around. Hopefully, Aburame-San likes coffee more than Lee and I do.

💚 The Fierce Love of Rock Lee💚

Rock Lee x Fem! Reader

“We did it! Neji, Y/N, we’ve passed the first test to become Chunin!”

An excited Rock Lee cheered with passionate fire in his eyes as the three of you exited the written exam hall. Neji had his usual smirk plastered on his face, whereas you were just happy to finally be away from that weird red-headed guy who kept staring at you like you were a piece of meat.

An involuntary sigh escaped your lips at the thought of the Sand Ninja and the way his piercing green eyes sent a chill down your spine.

“You again.”

Your E/C eyes widened at the familiar voice. No, it couldn’t possibly be him. Oh, but it was.

The three Genin from Sunagakure appeared in your field of vision, causing your heart rate and your anxiety to spike. The shorter, red-headed one named Gaara continued to scan you up and down in what seemed like disgust.

“You are Y/N, correct?”

Both Neji and Lee could sense that you were uncomfortable, but you stood your ground and nodded.

“Yes, I am. How do you know my-“

Before you could ask your question, Gaara scoffed and locked eyes with you.

“You’re really a Ninja? I find that hard to believe. You look so pathetic and weak… I should just kill you right now. I’ve been itching for some bloodshed and I think you could be the perfect victim!”

During the confrontation, Lee had been on edge. Not knowing anything about this guy and seeing how he glared at you just irritated him. But now he was degrading you and threatening you right in front of him? There was no way that Lee would tolerate that kind of behaviour, especially regarding his crush, you.

“Don’t you dare speak to her that way!”

Lee stepped in front of you and narrowed his round black orbs, ready for a fight. He knew that you could handle yourself if necessary, but that didn’t mean that he would let you take on this douche alone.

Gaara began to chuckle manically at Lee’s words, pissing the Leaf Ninja off even more.

“Why do you think this is funny? Y/N is an incredible Ninja and I am very grateful to be a part of her team. You do not know her like I do, so I respectfully ask you to shut your mouth before I do it for you!”

Your eyes widened at his words. No one had ever stood up for you like that before.

“Lee…”

Lee turned his head to look at you from over his shoulder and grinned at you.

“Do not fear, Y/N. I will not allow anyone to speak badly about you. No matter what. It is an honour to be able to defend you.”

Temari and Kankuro, the older Sand siblings, glanced at each other with worry, knowing that they would have to intervene before the situation escalated any further.

“Hey, Gaara… Why don’t you, me and Temari go for a walk and prepare ourselves for the next round?”

Kankuro laughed nervously and pointed towards a small sweets shop that he had spotted earlier that day.

Gaara, without moving his devilish gaze away from you, merely nodded and sighed.

“Maybe there is a brain in that small head of yours, Kankuro. Let’s go…”

With that said, Gaara turned his back to the three of you and exited the building, his siblings trailing behind with relief.

“Well, that was certainly… Interesting.”

Neji piped up once the three had left.

You exhaled sharply and turned your attention to Lee, who was also now only focused on you.

“Are you alright, Y/N? I have no idea why that Sand Ninja was so rude to you, but don’t you worry… I’ll be here to protect you until the day I die!”

You blushed and looked down at your feet shyly. Lee has always been this way about everything important to him, but for him to be feeling and acting so strongly towards you just… Made your heart melt.

“Y-yeah, I’m fine. Thanks, Lee.”

Neji cleared his throat, reminding the two of them that he was still, in fact, very much there with them.

“I believe I left some of my ninja tools back at the training grounds, so… I’ll find you two before the second part of the exams.”

You and Lee nodded, waved Neji off and bid your farewells. You both were a little embarrassed about what had just occurred between the two of you with your teammate awkwardly standing there, unsure of what to do or say. Fortunately, you were now alone.

Lee grinned at you with a cheeky twinkle in his midnight coloured eyes and tilted your chin to make you look up at him.

“If it is alright with you, I would love to take you out on a date sometime. Is that… Something that you would want, Y/N?”

You swallowed the nervous lump in your throat and smiled back at him with a nod.

“I would like that very much, Lee.”

i already thought Neji seem like the trans/non binary type but after i watched rock lee and his ninja pals it was over for me, i felt Neji has 0 problems with being whatever the fuck he wants after i watched a couple of those eps

if he wants to go over to his sisters room and play dress up thats what hes going to do, he wouldn't do it in his youth cause he's stuck on that "i am so serious" thing but the more he opens up the more he realizes this just feels normal it's not dress up anymore its a Neji thing

Neji likes wearing make up he likes feeling pretty he doesn't wanna stay stuck to what his title is he wants to just be Neji and if Neji is a person wearing make up and putting on dresses thats what Neji is going to be

Rock lee is so his alley he is so supportive regardless if he understands or not and so is Tenten even if she doesn't get it at first she makes a effort to understand, understanding never gets in the way of her love for her friend no matter what

What are your headcanons for Neji?

Don't worry It wasn't rude, it just felt too serious... Now this? This is fun!

The only difference to my headcanon is that I feel he's so comfortable with who he is that whatever he dresses doesn't even faze him. Whatever the pronoun or identity you want to go with. Like Neji is just Neji and his title and position are more important than that to him.

And THAT is when Hanabi and Tenten have their fun >:) playing with his hair, make up, clothes... I think that would be cute.

I guess I basically feel like Neji is the kind to stop and think about himself and his feelings. When he notices something in his reactions to anything around him, he studies it, meditades and analyzes it so that he knows how he feels about it. And then the people around him know that whatever he expresses is sonething he is sure and comfortable with... And they can go with it.

ALSO now I imagine he is the one who helps Hinata pick her clothes, or he has to pick them for her. Because otherwise she would only wear baggy pants and hoodies and that's not "proper attire for the heiress of the Hyuuga clan, Hinata-sama!"

What IF Kakashi and Yamato had played dirty to convince Sasuke to come back with Team 7?

Orochimaru: It’s useless. Nothing you say will convince Sasuke of returning to the… Sasuke? What are you doing?

Sasuke: *looks at some photos Yamato gave him that Kakashi took over the past years* What the hell are these? Is that… Naruto?

Yamato: Oh yes. Kakashi-Senpai told me that Naruto has grown quite popular with boys and girls. He’s actually gathered even more fangirls than you and three girls have actually kissed him. Not to mention how one girl even went as far as to ask Naruto to impregnate her. Of course, Naruto didn’t actually understand what she was asking.

Sasuke: WHAT?!

Yamato: Yes, well… *leans closer to Sasuke and starts whispering* ummm, let’s just keep this between us. But, Kakashi-Senpai told me to warn you that Gaara is completely smitten by Naruto. It’s only a matter of time before, he proposes to him.

Sasuke: Gaara?! You have got to be kidding me, right?

Yamato: It’s not just him. Sai has taken quite a liking to Naruto and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen him sneaking glances at his butt when he thought no one was looking. Then, there’s Shikamaru, Rock Lee, Neji, Kiba, Shino, Sora, Kankuro and probably some more boys and girls that I’m missing.

Sasuke: … I’m not going. I trust Naruto and think he’ll be faithful to me.

Yamato: *pulls out an envelope that Kakashi told him to only give to Sasuke in case of an emergency*

Sasuke: *opens the envelope and sees shirtless pictures of Naruto*

Kabuto: Sasuke?!

Orochimaru: Sasuke?!

Sasuke: *after he regains consciousness* I’m leaving.

Orochimaru: What? What do you mean?

Sasuke: I’m going back to the Hidden Leaf Village. You’ve taught me everything there is to teach me. I see no reason to stay with you. *appears right next to Naruto and pulls him closer to him and glares at Sai*

Naruto: Sasuke! You’re going to come back to Team 7! Yes!

Sakura: Sasuke, I’m so glad to hear that!

Yamato: I’m happy to see that our mission was a success.

Sai: *glares back at Sasuke but, quickly puts on a fake smile as he turns to Naruto* Naruto, perhaps you’ll be able to teach me more about what friends are.

Naruto: *grins adorably* Sure, Sai. After all, you’re also my friend and a part of Team 7. I’d be glad to.

Sasuke: (jealous Sasuke interrupts Sai’s and Naruto’s conversation) Naruto, I’m tired. Let’s head back to the village quickly. How about I treat you to some ramen?

Team 7 starts walking away.

Orochimaru: Just what the hell was in those last pictures anyways?! *takes a look at the bloodied photos of a shirtless Naruto training* *sigh* I should’ve known.
