i have this lovely (read: angsty) little idea for a post game Viviakou au where Vivia tries to leave Kanai Ward but starts thinking about how there's no one at the agency anymore and it's just going to sit there and rot. Hes grown such an attachment to it, and it's all thats really left of Yakou (whom he totally wasn't head over heels for and never got the chance to confess, no not at all), so he gives into his feelings and turns his happy ass around. after talking with Makoto about it he gets permission to take posession over the NDA and run it himself, finding a small handfull of locals who were interested in mystery solving to help him out. (he also kept it in the sub and kept all of Yakou's old furnature due the sentimental value..... and being too lazy). it's the first time in literal years he's ever actually had the motivation to do something, let alone something involving detective work, and it's all cause he couldn't let go of Yakou and the comfort he felt at the NDA.

also due to this au made my friend sad, it has an alt version where Makoto figures out how to revive the zombies and revives Yakou. when Yakou gets reintroduced to society he's surprised but relieved his agency is being taken care of, and absolutly flabbergasted when he finds out it was Vivia of all people behind it. it then gets gay from there :)

This AU is very bittersweet but absolutely lovely! Vivia found a place he felt the most comfortable in and realized it wasn't worth leaving it behind. He wanted to keep the memory of the one he cared so deeply for alive. Continuing where Yakou left off, he stepped in to fill the vacancy. He may not believe the title of chief suited him, but he adorned it out of admiration for the one who took him in. He's not a typical leader (Yakou wasn't either), rather letting those who volunteer to help do their own things instead of being ordered around. His usual laziness takes over, but he's in the mindset of giving people the freedom to seek their own truths. The chief would be proud of him.

Your alternate take on this AU is also very much appreciated, I'm a sucker for wholesomeness. Yakou would have to do countless double-takes to believe what he's seeing. Vivia taking charge is so out of left field, but Yakou has a sneaking suspicion it's because the mysterious detective didn't want the happiness he gained to disappear. And so, the two settle in together to make up for lost time and spend their lives in Kanai Ward. Though with all the positive improvements on homunculi's survival outside of the rain, Yakou and Vivia sometimes personally visit the former NDA detectives at the WDO to give reports on how things are going in the city (along with their increasingly romantic relationship status).

Heartstopper Tickle Fic!

Nick and Charlie sleep over and are bored so they decide to play a classic game of truth or dare! it does end up exposing poor nick.

( i know truth or dare is super like basic, i've never written a fic before so cut me some slack!)

Nick and Charlie just got home from school, it was a weekend so Nick decided to come over to Charlie's and of course he was super happy to have Nick over.

After they finished their homework, they both realized they was very bored

"Aha! What about truth or dare!" Nick exclamed

"Thats the most sterotypical thing on the planet!" Charlie said with a giggle

"Well i dont see you having any good ideas!" Nick said fluffing Charlies hair

"Fineeeee" Charlie said while removing his boyfriends hand

So the game began! They were playing with the app, and it was all silly little truths and dares, until Nick chose truth

Charlie gasped at his phone "You have to tell the truth to this one! Are you ticklish, and if so where are you most ticklish?"

Nick Nelsons flustered face said it all "N-no! Your turn!" Nick said avoiding eye contact

"I think your lyinggg~" Charlie teased while slowly making his way to Nick

"C-Charlie! We can talk about this!" Nick said backing up slowly

Charlie lunged himself at Nick, knocking Nick down and sitting down at his hips

Nick was blushing like mad! Covering his face and giggling nervously

Charlie just started wiggling his fingers and his giggles went up a octave!

"I havent even tickled you yet! Honesly rugby lad i can take you down just by wiggling my fingers at you

"S-shut up!" Nick said without any real spite

"I wonder what would happen if~" Charlie said while tickling Nicks sides gently

"ah! aha chahaharlie!!" Nick giggled, making absolutly no effort to stop him

"i thought you wasnt ticklish! Did you lie to me?!" Charlie said while tickling one side and squeezing the other

"ihihim sohohohohory! aH!" Nick said while now kicking his feet and wiggling around

"your just like a golden retriver!" Charlie said while making a claw with his hand and tickling Nicks tummy

"ahahaham nohohohot *snort* ohohoho god!" Nick said while snorting

"Did you just snort?! Can you get any cuter?!" Charlie asked while giggling along with him

After a few more minutes of tickles, Charlie let up

"Since your obviously very ticklish, where are you most ticklish?" Charlie asked crossing his arms

"W-will you not go to hard on me?"

"Promise!" Charlie said with a promising smile

Nick somehow blushed darker and raised his arms, not able to keep them up long before putting them down and giggling more

Charlie grabbed one of Nicks arms and pinned it on the ground, while the giggling Nick just covered his face with the other hand

"You ready giggles?" Charlie asked his boyfriend with his new nickname

Nick nodded

Charlies smile grew on his face seeing his boyfriend so adorable like this! How is he so cute!?

Charlie lifted one finger and slowly wiggled it in Nicks underarm, and he went nuts!

"AHAHAHAHA!! C-CHAHAHAHAR! EHEHEHE!" Nick loudly laughed outloud, Charlie joined him

"Is this your tickle spot?" Charlie teased

Nick nodded frantically, finnaly after what felt like forever of Charlie attacking him, Nick finnaly fought back. Nick pushed Charlie back with the one hand that wasnt pinned down

Charlie shot back up and laughed along with Nick, easing his attack on his poor boyfriend

"C-charrr, your so mean!" Nick winned, not really meaning it

"Oh you poor thing, you enjoyed it though!"

Nick hid his poor blushing face in his hands "S-shut up"

Charlie giggled and pulled Nick into a hug, knowing he was going to be tickling him again very soon

Vampire!pertwee x reader the masquerade ball

Notes : reader gets invited to a masquerade ball by the count who is head of the city and he choose a bride at the end. Reader then finds out the count is a vampire

im also sorry that the gifs don't match but it inspired me greatly

Y/n woke up one morning entangeled in her sheets "oh wow that was a strange dream " she yawed "hmm oh wel guese i should get up"

She then stood up And got dressed after her routine y/n got breakfast from down stairs. While the coffee was running y/n checkt the mail, in the mail was a letter with her name on it in a beautyfull hand wrighting. Also a seal adored the paper "a letter from the count how strange" y/n opend the letter.

"Dear people"

"I Wright this letter to invite you to a ball i will be hosting this upcoming saturday, im looking For a wife who will love me for who i am, the rules of the ball are is that you have to wear a mask and match it with your dress, at the end of the ball i will be anounig who will become my bride."

"You don't have to come but its apriciated if you did"

Y/n looked at the paper "the count is looking For a Wife.... should i go?" She was thinking "i mean i got a chance so why not but what will i wear..." while the was thinking the coffee machine beeped to let know that the coffee was done. " Alright what to wear hmm".

Then y/n remembered an old photo of her mother in a blue ball gown "mabey.....she gave it to me right?" She grabed her phone and started dail the number".

"Hello y/n"

"Hi mom i got a Question"

"Do tell"

"I was wondering if you gave me that ball gown of yours when i moves out i got invited to a ball"

"Oh yeah i do its in a light pink box with light blue stars on it there should be asesoires in there as wel.

" Thanks i will go in search for it"

"Who invited you?"

"The count did"

"You mean the head of the town?"

"Yes, hes in search for a wife i mean i can try right"

"Yes you can go but please be carefull we don't know anything about him"

"Yes mom i know don't worry i'll be fine i promice, speek to you later im going to look for the dress.

"Alright sweetheart but rember be carefull"

"I wil mom don't worry take care" y/n hung up And put the phone aside "alright its time to look die that box" she went upstairs to her bedroom and looked everywhere, but a hour later she still hasnt found it "hmm mabey its in the attic" she opend it up turned on the light And looked around "man i have to mutch stuff ah there it is" she grabed the box and went back down, then she opend up the box and, in the box was a mask a pair of shoes a tiara and her mom her dress and gloves, there was also a letter

" dear y/n

If you find this box its yours now the dress was once mine but the other things are specaly for you, i want to wish you a lovely evening when you wear this

Love from your mom"

"Oh how sweet" she wiped a tear now lets try them on

About 15 minuts later y/n had everything on and it fited like a glove absolutly perfect.

"Tomorow is the ball then i perhaps should go to bed its going to be a long night".

the next day y/n took the time to get ready, she took a shower and did her hair and put on her dress and accessoires. "Alright finaly done" she turned off the lights and went outside to lock the door but when she turned around she was greeted by a cariage

"Hello madam i come to pick you up for the ball " a man bowed to her

"Ah alright thank you, were youv sent by the count? "

"Yes i was madam"

"Alright then" y/n smiled softly "Shall we go then? "

"Of course" the man opend the door of the carriage and closed it once y/n was seated "

"Alright lets go then" she took a deep breath to calm herself, once the carriage was on its way it looked like time flew by because 20 minuts later they arived

"We are here madam " the man opend the door

"Thank you for bringing me here sir...."

"Troughton"

"Thank you sir troughton wil i see you again this evening? "

"Yes i'll be bringing you home as wel"

"Thank you have a lovley evening" she smiled

"You to miss y/l/n"

Y/n turned around grabed her skirt and then walked up the stairs. Then she was greated by two big doors they opend from the inside letting her in, there were a lot of people male and female, of course the ball was ment for the count to find a wife but both male and female people took the opertunety to find somone to be with.

Some people went silent and looked at y/n others wispered and stared, it was making her quite uncomfertble " Oh dear goodness i hope people won't be staring to mutch at me."

Then the trumperts were sounded and a man with white hair wearing all red walked down the stairs.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Masquerade Ball thats being held to look for a wife for me, of course you can enjoy yourself and do whatever you like have a lovley evening everybody"

The man walked further down the stairs and made his way on to the ballroom floor, a lot of women and girls went after him. She could not completly see his face but she bet he's very handsome his voice sounded like honey.

And hour and a half went by, she already had danced with multiple people but her feet hurt so y/n went to the side and sat down on a chair. Her eyes roamed over the ballroom looking at all the people, unfortanetly enough y/n hadnt quite felt a conection with anyone yet.

"Excuse me miss but why arn't you on the dance floor" a voice spoke

"Wel unfortanetly my feet hurt so i had to sit down for a moment " She said not looking up

"Ah i see, we all need some rest from time to time"

Finaly she looked up And gasped it was the count " Oh please do excuse me for being so rude i din't mean to"

"No no don't worry you Werent being rude at al its quite alright"

"I need a few more minuts of rest i will get blisters on my feet for sure" she giggled

"Alright thats fine, im really glad you could come miss? "

"Y/n y/l/n"

"Miss y/n, may i say you look very lovely this evening "

"Why thank you, you look also verry lovely in your costume"

"Thanks, oh please do excuse me i think there is somone who wants to dance with me, i'll be back in a few minuts" he bowed and walked away.

"Curious, something is off oh wel perhaps im imagine it"

About 15 minuts the count was back "may i please have this dance from you miss y/n"

"Well of course" she bowed at him, they both spun around putting his arms around her waist and she put her hand on his shoulder

Then the both twirled and walzed over the ballroom floor everybody had made way for them looking on how the couple danced, he then picked her up, y/n was having the time of her life. She was laughing and gigeling

When the dance was over he diped her

they stoped before a mirror but what she din't know was that the only reflection that could be seen was hers. But before she could see it they both moved away from the mirror.

"That was absolutly wonderfull i really had fun" she bowed

"Oh it was nothig at all you are quite a good dancer miss y/n"

"Thank you..... you know i never asked you your name"

"My name is John Devon Roland Pertwee de Perthuis de Laillevault but you can call me jon"

"Hold on i want to try and say that John Devon Roland Pertwee.... de Perthuis de Laille...vault wow im never going to try that again i keep it at jon pertwee then" she giggled

"Thats alright I really enjoyed your company miss y/n"

"Oh y/n is just fine jon i really enjoyed your company as wel"

"I wil soon make an anouncement"

"Thats fine im going to drink something"

He kissed her hand "i hope to see you back soon"

Y/n walked away and grabed a goblet to drink from "sutch a gentleman" she blushed "oh cut it out y/n You never have a chance with him" she was kind of disapointed at herself

"Dear ladies and gentlemen may i have your atention please, i really enjoyed all of your company this evening but i think i finaly found my new fiance , (your full name) could you please come forward, " once y/n stood before him he grabed her hand softly "ladies and gentlemen may i introduse you to (your full name) my fiance to be," he turned to her "y/n I really enjoyed this evening with you and i hope we could spent some more time together"

"But of course jon i would absolutly love to spent more time with you"

He noded "i also have a gift for you" he grabed a necklace out of his pocket

"it was my wife her necklace before she died i want you to have it" he placed it around her nek

"Thank you so mutch jon its beautyfull" she hugged him "i promice to take good care of it ......but before i stay here i have to get my stuff from home"

"As you wish we sent a moving truck tomorow so that you can get your stuff.... don't you mind to get with me even while we know echoter sinds tonight?"

"Of course not im alone in that house of mine i enjoy some company" she softly grabed his hand

Jon noded at her " dear people i thank you all for coming have a lovley night and i see you an other time"

"So i will stay her?"

"Unless you don't want this "

" I need to get to know you first then we can take more steps"

"Wel of course "

"Jon tell me and be honest to me, i have the feeling that you are not human am i corect?"

"So you found out?"

"That there is something strange about you..... Yes, but its not threathing tell me jon what are you?"

Jon sighed he could't stop it now "you want the truth?"

"Yes"

"Alright, well y/n I am a vampire i have been for quite some years now, my wife died of old age, if you want to leave thats fine"

Y/n grabed his hand once more "I don't want to leave now you need somone to love you and stay with you.... I won't leave even if we know echoter for one night i promice "

Tears fell from his eyes " Thank you y/n you are the best thing a vampire can have" he kissed her fourhead and huged her close to him.

Y/n knew she had nothig to fear

So about Sunny: Age,Interests,family,profession, weapon of choice, love interest. clothes? Give me everything!

Hi i love you so much for this

Age: I dont have it exactly pinned down, but somewhere around the 80-90 mark. They're a half elf so I imagine them having maybe three, four times the lifespan of a human. For comparison they look to be mid 30s.

Interests: Being drunk as much as possible actually, they've gotten a lot better about that. They still drink more than they should but are a bit less reckless about it. But, yeah, still have a thing for whiskey and cigars lol. They're kind of into mechanics, not in a big way but enough to tinker with their bike and make some modifications to their gun. OH, heres a secret one; yknow those trashy romance novels? Im talking Chuck Tingle shit. They collect them. They're not like, into themyou understand, they just find poorly written erotica to be absolutly hysterical. If they're reading a book its probably a bad romance novel that they'reaughing at.

Family: They only have a couple of living blood family; their dad, Garlin, who is the classic absent father trope and they don't actually know, and (in wow at least) a recently rediscovered great grandmother, Rhyneia. Rhyn is a night elf demon hunter who's been alive since the war of the ancients. Old, thousands of years old badass hunter who has grown extremely jaded and cynical, and is basically just sort of drifting through life desperate for excitement. Welp. Sunny sure is interesting, at least

Found family is a big thing for them though! They have several people who consider them family (including another entire extended elf family and a fae) and it surprises them every time. There's this ancient orc warrior who's almost as old as them and kind of thinks of them as a sibling, they have a weirdly tight friendship that no one else understands bc Sunny just turns into a grumly old person around him, there's another p young orc who theyve known most of his life and basicly adopted as a little brother. AND once the Shadowlands scourge invasion kicks off, they're going to adopt a half orc/troll orphan named Rishi! Tbh the end goal for them is a few decades down the line they end up running a kind of foster home for lost kids and end up with a gang of children

Proffession: I mean, the answer they give varies. Generally they'll keep ot vague and just call themself a trader or businessperson. The truth is more like smugler/mercenary. The sort of person who can get a hold of items they really shouldn't by questionable means. They've worked as an assassin in the past too, but they're trying to move away from that.

Weapon of choice: guns and knives. They always have half a dozen or so knives on them as well as a couple of pistols, in in game their main weapon mog is like. Axe blades mounted on gun stocks? So I picture them being like a short range shotgun blast. They also have a sniper rifle that they treat like their firstborn child.

They used to be able to do all kinds of knife tricks, juggling etc but they haven't tried in a few years due to the condition of their hands worsening.

Love interest: They actually have a couple lol. They're poly and historically are not great at relationships because of anxiety, trust and commitment issues, etc. They currently have two partners though, a dranei void preist named Szae who they? Kind of see on and off, its fairly casual but they also just get each other on a really deep level so there's a lot of trust there. AND, a half elf death knight named Relm, who they only really started dating recently and are still kinda. Nervous about.

They do this thing where they'll hit on everything feminine that gives them a positive response and act like a really smooth operator but the second they actually develop feelings for someone it freaks them the fuck out and they turn into the most nervous sappy romantic imaginable and thats kinda where they are with Relm rn. Its adorable.

Clothes: they have fairly practical casual clothes for the most part, baggy shirts and trousers full of pockets. But they also have this big sleeveless duster that they think looks badass, and a fucking cowboy hat. There is no deep emotional significance to the hat. They just think it looks cool.

If theyre bein fancy they'll go with big flowy buttons shirts with like a waistcoat on top. That sorta, dashing rogue style look.

Ty so much ;-; I have. So much in my head about them. They have a ton of trauma and depression and bad coping mechanisms but theyre TRYING damnit and theyre getting better and their partners are helping them. Makes me happy, man

“Shadows Of The Dark Crystal” Book Review

So, I'm going to say this write out the bat: I gave this book ⭐⭐⭐

And I give it three stars, mostly because it wasn't a bad book by any means, but I found myself really disappointed with this book on a number of issues. I felt that this book had really great potential, but it merely stays in the lane of “It's a first book in a series.”

To sum up the entire book:

“Shadows of the Dark Crystal” takes place within the world of Thra, The home planet of the Dark Crystal. We see the gelfling empire thriving. Everything is peaceful, there are no wars to be fought, every clan is living their best lives, and they are prospering alongside their benevolent rules, the bird-like creatures known as The Skeksis.

In “Shadows”, we follow a young gelfling tomboy by the name of Naia. Naia is the daughter of the clan Maudra, or leader, but she kind of resents her status of future maudra. She once had dreams of being called upon to serve The Skeksis, these fair rulers who claim to be the Protectors of Thra, but her dreams were dashed aside when The Skeksis came to call upon her twin brother Gurjin instead. Because of this, she mostly spends her days training to be the next future maudra, to harness a healing fire that has been passed through the Drenchen bloodline for generations.

One day, while patrolling through the swamp, Naia finds a visitor walking making their way toward her home. Because of how thick and large the swamp is, Visitors are not common within the swamp, so she;s very on edge as too why this silver-hair, fair-skinned gelfling is trooping through the swamp like an idiot. Following the visitor, it turns out that the visitor, a Vapra gelfling by the name of Tavra, had arrived with a message from the ever-powerful All-Maudra, who sends a message that Gurjin has been branded a traitor to the Skeksis, and is now to be put to trial at the Castle of the Crystal.

And then everything goes from there….

So from the get-go, I’ve always been hesitant about reading this book. It's mainly because of how deeply I would compare and contrast the TV Show vs The Books.

I was very afraid that my high-expectations and Love for the show would taint my reading experience throughout the book, and thankfully, for a majority of the book, it did not taint it. I found myself enjoying it. but that doesn't mean that I don't find myself really disappointed with the execution of those ideas.

As usual, I really found myself loving the world of Thra. The way the landscapes and locations are told is absolutely spectacular and i can see everything very clearly. The way J.M Lee encorperates “Clan Life” in the narrative is also wonderful--I absolutely love the snippets we get, like the drenchen putting their dirty food plates in small hanging baskets and leaving them out to get washed in the rain, or the Sprition having a small communal cooking fire and their relationship with the podlings is fantastic.

The Skeksis were goofy and horrifying as always. and the climax of the book was very intense and action pact. The dialogue for the Skeksis, however, was very jarring at first, especially with the other Skeksis that wasn't the chamberlain. I'm so used to hearing that very lyrical, very quotable dialogue from the show.

“All the better to hold on life, no matter the cast.”

“All ready a solution lies within the Scientists very grasp.”

“We are the lords of the Crystal-- We have ruled for a thousand trine, and we shall rule for a thousand more--We are Eternal!

“I plant lies in the ground--Watch grow into Truth.”

“Two questions answer each other.”

“Gelfling have always been ruled--heads down, backs bent!”

The characters were quite pleasant--They did the job they were given.

Naia and Kylans friendship was so soft and so pure. Just the way the two bonded and cared for each other really made their relationship all the more adorable.

I loved the rivalry that Tavra and Naia sort of formed, it felt very pure to the conflict within the show, with them allking each other “Drenchen” and “Vapran” with such hatred and disdain.

I also loved the amount of clan racism that was in this book. I loved the ways that the gelfling treated each other, with one of the most prominent encounters being with Naia and Maudra Mera. I love how J.M Lee wrote the dialogue for the scene--It was very passive aggressive in a way, with Mera basically telling Naia “Alright now, I'm giving you a meal and a place to sleep, but as soon as the sun rises over those mountains, you need to take your dreadlocks and swamp-smell and get out of my clan”

But im afraid thats where my praise for this book ends, Now onto my complaints.

So, the book is written in very short chapters, each with maybe 8-10 pages each. It makes for avery quick read, but thats where one of my complaints with the book lies: There's not enough time within the chapter to fully flesh out the scenes. We do get confrontation on some scenes that come in later chapters, particularly the scene where Kylan explains to Naia that he himself experienced the same vision-residual echo as she had within the dark wood and their dreamfast, but it wasn't enough for me. It felt as if the book was holding me back with the end of a fairly long pole. I really wanted to dive deep into scenes, explore these characters thoughts and feelings about whatever was happening, but the book wasn't allowing that unless it was directly needed.

It absolutely felt like the Aughra and Brea scene within The Dream-Space where Brea was like, “Hey--What's wrong with the Crystal?! Why is it cracked?!”

And Aughra’s just like, “We don't have time for that! We’ll get there when we get there! No time for emotional scenes, we need to get this plot moving!”

Another thing that kind of ties up with my first point, is that while the Characters were good and they played their roles well, they’re relationships and dynamics were not fully fleshed out. Everyone felt confined to a role and no one felt fully able to push against those roles.

One of the reasons why I love the protags in the TV show is that the writers gave them a chance to push against their roles:

Rain is supposed to be a guard of the castle, this impressive force of strength and bravery, but in actuality he’s very much a coward and like what the chamberlain says, he runs the first chance he gets. Throughout the season we see him learn from this fight-or-flight mentality, we see him lean to stand his ground and grow a pair in facing the skeksis.

Deet is a happy little farm child who has a positive outlook on life, but that doesn't mean that she doesn't experience doubt and fear about her journey and her meaning to this big quest. We see her start to view the world differently, and in the end, we see her take a life, something she would have never had done in her lifetime (Granted she took the life of a diseased dodo-overlord, but given that deep is literally a sunshine child, she would have loved Skeklash, warts and all. )

Brea is a princess who loves to learn, she boasts about how she’s read certain books more then once and how she lives in complete luxury, but we also see her being a smartass. She’s manipulative and quick-witted and kind of conniving in the most endearing way.

In “Shadows,” I never got any of that. I get that its a first book in a series and that as the books go on, the characters character-development will start to come into play, but I feel as though, at the end of book one, your characters should be at least a little bit different than at the beginning.

In the end, Naia still felt like Naia. Yes, She discovered that the Skeksis were killing gelfling and yes her wings came in at the last second, but in the end, Naia still felt the same as she did in the first page. She had changed, yes, but not enough for me to be really be pumped to see where her character goes from end.

Same with Kylan. He felt changed, but not enough for me to be excited for him.

One last thing I need to say is that I wanted the background characters to be more fleshed out.Obviousl, again, I know we have more books in the series to go through to get some development, but i really wanted them to feel real enough for me that when they do come back in the later books, Im absolutly excited to see where they go. I love Naia’s family--I love Laesid. I love Bellanji. I love Naia’s little sisters. I love them all, but I wanted them to have more agency on the plot. I love how protective Bellanji and Laesid are of their Children, especially when this silver-haired stranger comes tromping through their swamp and just spits out, “Hey i'm sorry for bothering you during your lovely dinner but your only son is now a traitor to the skeksis and if he doesnt turn himself in we’re going to hunt him down like a nebrie.”

And both Laesid and Bellanji are like “eXuSe mE tHe FuCk?!”

But that also what bothers me is that they do all their negotiating and planning within this scene in Laesids room. There's never a time where Naia and Lakeside and Bellanji and her sisters are gathered AS A FULL FAMILY to discuss what the hell they are going to do about this situation. They’re only son, Gurjin, has just been branded a traitor to the crystal and If they dont bring him home and let him have an audience with the All-Maudra, they themselves are going to be branded traitors as well. I feel as though with those prospects, the entire family would have taken a few moments to talk about it, instead of Laesid just going, “Okay Bellanji, take Naia with you when you go to the All-Maudra because plot demands her to go.”

And that's where I think my biggest issue with the whole entire book lies. It fleshes out things, but not enough to where it really packs a punch. It never fully brings it home for me. When I read, I want to be invested. But with this book, I was invested, but not in the way that I wanted.

Some miscellaneous things:

The Skeksis take Naia to a part of the Castle known as the All-Maudra’s guest Quarters. This suggests that the All-Maudra spent the night within the caslte, thus making it canon that the All-Maudra had seen a naked Skeksis walk the halls of the castle before.

Tavra just causally popping her arm back into its socket like it was normal Tuesday for her.

Bellanji flirting with Laesid while she tents to his wounds.

Laesin having (1) leg and being more badass for it

Gurjin being more interested in hunting in the swamp and wooing “Lassi-wings” up into trees for some fun times.

That (1) podling definitely called playfully insulted Naia on her way to the village.

Neech being best eel. 11/10 would fetch anything.

BTS THEORY

so i came up with a theory to explain the bts mvs and the whole like highlights reel and all that. this took me absolutly years to write lmao...

We think the mv's go in this order:

the flashbacks in run/ i need u

spring day

the not flashback parts of run / i need u

wings trailers

love yourself

1. the flashbacks show a time when they were young dumb and having fun before everything happened when they were all friends and just having a good time.

2. all the bad things began to happen after the boys drifted apart after they visited the beach. (in the notes it says the drifted apart.). a generally accepted theory for why the boys went out of control was because jin died but i think it's just because they realised the harsher realities of life and had to deal with stuff and just kind of lost it.

this is because the spring day mv to me represents the last youthful happiness. a bubble, where for one last time they can feel carefree and joyful without the burdens of real life. this is because in the mv the motel is called omelas that they stand outside. “the one that walks away from omelas” is a book about a seemingly utopian city called omelas where everyone is happy and there is no pain or suffering. i believe that the day at the beach was their omelas.

in the book, once you are old enough you learn the truth that omelas isn't all happy because for everyone else to live joyfully one child lives in dark, filth and misery underneath the city. At that point, you can choose to say understanding that the one child suffers for the greater good or you can leave to an unknown place that is unimaginable to the people of omelas.

in the context of bts, i think this is a metaphor for the boys growing up. They have reached the age where they begin to realise all the dark things in the world and know that they have to do something about it because they can’t just ignore the pain and suffering. so they have to leave the beach eventually going home to their normal lives to deal with real life. they aren't innocent unknowing children anymore, they aren't young forever so they have to leave the beach and walk away from omelas.

i think when they hang the shoes on the tree - which you usually do for a dead person. it isn't for jin and jin doesn't die.they are converse shoes which could be a reference to past songs they made when they were younger i.e. converse high. so the shoes represent a younger them - their youth. so their youth has died and they have to walk away from omelas into the unknown where things, might not happy or okay.

3. the not flashback parts of run / i need u

these show the boys spiralling out of control as the unknown of real life hits them. like when taehyung accidentally kills his abusive father when hitting him. the fact the boys have drifted apart. i think it is because they aren't kids anymore and they have to deal with pain and suffering now they bubble of being children and the day at the beach has burst. so their accidents start to have consequences. they lose contact with each other and the fun is gone and the struggle of this causes them to act out - like yoongi. and fall into a depression of sorts - jimin lying in the bath. they aren't upset because jin died but because they aren't friends anymore and things in their life aren't happy and carefree as they once were. and it ends up with jungkook being hit by the car. and them having a fight (the notes) where jin says he punched taehyung.

4. the wings trailers show each of the boys in a sort of purgatory unsure of where to go next, trapped within themselves and in their own minds. a few examples - jungkook in the bed and the darkness stuck in a coma maybe after his car crash. taehyung - trapped in the cage which could be a metaphor for his own mind as he struggles with the fact he killed his own father. they are still stuck, trapped in the pain of what happened when they drifted apart. with only the memories of the happiness, they once had in the spring day which they hope will come again (which is what the song spring day is about).

5.love yourself highlight reel shows the boys as they try to move on. Jungkook meets a girl in the hospital as he gets better. jimin and hoseok dance with the girl. jin meets a girl at the level crossing and finds happiness with her. taehyung does stupid things like graffiti with the girl he meets stealing. namjoon sees the girl on the bus every day and yoongi plays the piano not alone anymore but with the girl he meets.

so they move on slightly. that is until things go wrong again. taehyung and the girl get caught. something happens to the girl jungkook likes after he recovered. jimin accidentally knocks the girl out (i think), jin's girl gets hit by the van and so on and so forth. so all the bad things come crashing down on them again. it ends with jin saying that everything could be fixed if they went back to that day and had done things differently. that all their troubles stem from there. but i also think it's trying to say that the boys will only feel more pain if they try to take their happiness from being with other people and that they need to work out who they are, what they want and love their own selves before they can fix all that happened when they left the beach, grew up and stopped being kids.

if they want to fix what happened with each other and truly be happy they need to look at themselves first. find away to love themselves and rely less on other people for happiness. otherwise they will be stuck on their downwards spiral endlessly. and thats why the comeback for september is titled love yourself.

anyway that's my theory feel free to tell me if you agree or if yours is different i find it really interesting the different views people have - me and my friend talked for ages about this haha. have a good day :):):)

I've just seen your post about mental health issues and how HWA impacted you. I just wanted to say that you are so incredibly brave for opening up like this, and I can't describe how important it is to me that I was able to help, even in small ways. I'm terribly sorry you have to deal with such a difficult situation, but yes, I'd just like to reinforce that there really isn't anything "weak" about admitting you need help. It's SUCH a hard step and you've made it, that's amazing. Thank you.

@dracze I just want to say first that I’m glad that you did read my post. I think it was important of me to acknowledge that I would not have come to this point without reading your story, and I felt it was important for you to know the impact you made as well.

In all honesty, me writing and posting what I did was kind of a way of locking myself into a verbal agreement with myself. I’m saying “You’ve done the hardest part, you’ve admitted that there is an issue and you’re not hiding that or denying it anymore. Now you need to do something about it like you said you would.”

I still don’t know why, but the truth is that yes, I do listen more to fictional characters than I do real people. I’ve had people in my life say the exact same thing that Leslie said to Bruce during that session, and yet somehow I never really felt I could believe them. But, reading that particular dialouge in this specific story, where I was already incredible emotionally invested in it, was eye opening. Hearing it in this context, I found it believable for once, and mainly because it was concerning Bruce that someone said that did I believe it.

The thing is, I have tried to acknowledge before that there were problems, multiple times. I did come to my parents before, after they told me repeatedly it was ok to do so, but because I had learned so well how to hide what I really felt behind a false facade to get myself through my days, they never believed me. They either told me my struggles weren’t that bad, or that I was faking it or just wanted attention. After so many times of hearing it, I kinda just said inwardly to myself that “Ok, you’re problems? They’re managable, if they even exist at all. You can do this, you don’t need a professional. Let’s just live life and do what you need to do and you’ll be fine. It’ll all go away on it’s own.”

And that, that is the biggest fucking lie I ever told myself. And the problem was, I believed it until very recently.

I had a day last week where I slept through all my classes. (I’m in my freshman year at uni.) Normally, if something like that happened, I would be an anxious guilty mess over missing the lecture and for now being behind everyone by a day.

Except that didn’t happen. I woke up after sleeping through the classes, and I felt absolutly nothing. My emotions were entirely blank. I did not give a single flying fuck. At all. I was basically numb.

And that?? That was the point where I said enough’s enough.

I am not properly able to take care of this on my own, and I never ever was. I let it get to this point for far too long, and it’s time I did something to fix it, because I cannot live like this anymore.

I don’t really consider myelf brave for doing this, more like it was nesessary. Because it was, and thats the bottom line of why I did it.

In any case, your story helped me immensely. I NEEDED to hear that dialouge. I absolutly needed that. And I’m glad I did hear it. Because now?

Now is where I take the steps into my own hands, and I march myself down to campus consulers and I make an appointment. And I will start down a (probably very long) road to fixing these issues.

(I know this was a lot to read. But this was also an important addition to that post as well.)
