I’m English and I feel like a lot of English people don’t really get is that it doesn’t matter how well Scotland or Wales would do economically if they left the UK. I’ve read a lot of arguments that they’d do fine, but honestly the crux of the argument for their independence is that they were violently and repeated conquered by England a severely repressed and they no longer want to be in the forced political union this resulted in. They want the right to self rule, and as England has wonderfully demonstrated, part of that right is the right to make an absolutely bloody mess of your country.

I also think that when people make that argument you can see what they are really worried about is what will happen to England if Scotland and Wales left

you know what I think about all the time? the fact that there are so many good and I mean good fantasy/magical movies and tv series out there that have been produced and so much good book content out there waiting to be brought to life and none of it is happening and it makes me sad because it’s such a shame
