tell me about the nonsense your DLC s/i gets up to that is a wild looking team and that is also a *LOT* of bandaids are they okay
He's fine it's fine, most of the bandages come from wrangling wild Pokemon, thought some are from fights.
This gets kinda long so under a cut it goes. Thankyou very much for asking.
He's the son of Professor Briar, originally born in Sinnoh he's been at the mercy of his mother's wild whims his entire life. Which is eventually how he winded up in Kitakami to further her newest obsession; Terastalization. Emile spent a lot of time alone as a kid, as his mom could be gone days or even weeks at a time chasing a lead in her research, and it didn't help that the land of Kitakami tended to be pretty cold to outsiders.
At his first festival of masks, which he attended unsupervised, Emile immediately locked onto Kieran for his super cool Oger mask. Where his mother was obsessed with natural phenomena, Emile was fascinated by legends, mostly due to raising himself on the Myths of Sinnoh in the library when he was little. So of course, upon moving to Kitakami Emile immediately read up on the legend of the loyal three and, like Kieran, deeply sympathized with the Ogre.
After basically throwing himself into his life, Emile and Kieran became inseparable, especially when they started school. Kieran was rather meek, and tended to get bullied as a shy kid, and while his sister defended him on their walks home from school, she couldn't do much when he was in the classroom. So that's where Emile stepped up, loudly calling out anyone who bullied Kieran, and every once in a while, throwing a few punches. He was very lucky to have Kieran to patch him up afterwards.
When the two were 8 Emile learned of the Kitakami tradition of Family Members gifting you your first Pokemon, and was immediately depressed about it. He'd see his mother maybe a handful of times every other month or so, there was no way she'd gift him a Pokemon. Kieran, unable to stand seeing his best friend so depressed, set out to catch him a Pokemon himself... On Oni Moutain.... Without his own Pokemon...
Emile ended up running to Kieran's rescue against a wild Tera Pokemon, and got pretty hurt in the process. Carmine came soon after and managed to defeat the Pokemon, before scolding both boys for going up Oni Mountain at Night and dragging them both back home to get yet another scolding from their grandfather.
After that, Emile and Kieran got permission from the orchard owners to catch an Applin each on Apple Hills, and decided to catch each other's first Pokemon. Both Applin evolved into Dipplin the following year at the Festival of Masks.
Upon receiving their first Pokemon, Emile and Kieran began wandering more of the land of Kitakami on their own, chasing after the rumored Bloodmoon Ursaluna in the Timeless Woods, which they never found, and even camping out in the Dreaded Den, where the two shared their first kiss. For a year they were happy, wild and free.
And then Briar found a copy of the Scarlet Book and found herself a brand new obsession.
In a flash Emile's entire world was packed up, ready to be shipped to Paldea. A new school, new friends, new Pokemon, new adventure! How exciting! It should have been.
The night before the move Kieran and Emile sat in the Dreaded Den together and contemplated just running away. Kids their age were on journey's all the time, out in the world all by themselves, just them and their Pokemon. They probably could have... But Kieran had a family that loved him very much, and his sister had just recommended him for the amazing boarding school she'd been going to that he (and Emile) were ecstatic about getting to go to.
So they sucked it up, said their goodbyes, and separated for four long, long years.
During that time Emile was once again back to being all on his own. A new kid in a new region at a new school. Packed up in a dorm room so his mother could once again run off and leave him behind.
Emile began to get bullied, as the new kid, as the fat kid, and though he was never afraid to stand up for Kieran, to throw hands or call someone out for being a jerk, it got a little harder to do when he didn't have someone behind him. It didn't help that all of the teachers were blaming the fights on him, taking his bully's side, even when he didn't throw the first punch, even when he was just defending himself. He forgot how often Carmine had stood up to his teacher's to defend him...
Eventually, Emile got roped up into Team Star. He wasn't friends with anyone in the group, but at least they didn't push him around, or make fun of him when he ate, which he'd been doing less and less of these days anyway, especially now that he was skipping school, and thus skipping the provided meals the school offered.
Two and a half years later Team Star was disbanded, and just as Emile was setting himself back into a dorm room he never wanted, he got a call from his mom. Apparently Emile's was chosen out of a lottery to go on a the school trip, which his mother immediately volunteered to chaperone as there was something there she wanted to investigate. Emile asked where this trip was, and packed a bag faster than he'd ever packed before.
The DLC basically proceeds as normal here, with a few differing interactions sense Keiran, Carmine, and I already know one another, and a few plot points change though only slightly
In the end Briar is offered a job at Blueberry academy, allowing Emile to transfer there and become a permanent member of the League Club and, of course, spend every day with his childhood best friend turned boyfriend Kieran <3
Sorry the last part, the actual big story point, isn't very detailed, I'm planning on writing a Self Insert fic about it... Eventually. We'll get there.
Thankyou for your interest and thanks for reading!!!! Here's his team in a bigger image!! ...Which I guess I didn't really fully explain in this post. Oops. fkgjdfkjg
