In which you get confused for being a family

Rengoku:

- It happens during a trip to the store in town with his little brother. Maybe it was to restock groceries or maybe it was buying supplies for his next demon conquest, either way: all three of you went down to visit.

- Rengoku smiled softly at you as he watched you with his little brother, holding his hand and laughing with Senjuro and occasionally lifting him up and spinning around.

- At some point during the walk, Senjuro pointed at some birds flying in the tree and begged Kyojuro for a closer look, which Kyojuro happily allowed him to do and put him on his shoulders with a big smile. You helped Senjuro steady himself and laughed at how precious the two looked.

- As Senjuro and Kyojuro debated about what kind of birds they were, you couldn't help but look at Kyojuro with nothing less than love in your eyes and a fond smile.

- "Aw, how precious!" a woman walking past with a basket filled with baked goods cooed at you three, "I'm glad even with demons terrorizing us, people can still have moments like this. Here, have some!"

- At first you tried to decline out of embarrassment but Kyojuro humbly took them and gave one to Kyojuro and handed a pastry to you. You were hesitant but then you took it and graciously thanked the lady, "but also, I feel bad for not paying for these, ma'am. Please, let me-"

- "Don't you worry about it. A beautiful family like you should enjoy a good snack on such a lovely day, especially since your husband's a hashira."

- Rengoku opened his mouth to let out a hearty "TASTY!" but stopped himself halfway when he heard that. You just stared at the lady in flustered shock as she bowed her head and walked away.

- You and Kyojuro shared a look with each other, Kyojuro giving you a nervous yet wide grin and you returned it. Both of your faces felt warm and you were barely able to hold eye contact with each other.

- "Haha, that lady thought you were (Y/n)'s husband! Isn't that funny, big brother?" and Rengoku's gaze softens as you become timid and look down at your feet, "Yes...I suppose it is, Kyojuro."

Tengen:

- You were walking with Tengen and his wives, happy to see him a bit more after his retirement, when you stumbled upon three neighboring children, who played too roughly and were crying their eyes out about it.

- You and Hinatsuru helped them while Suma tried not to cry with the two boys but offered to help and Makio awkwardly tried to calm them down. Tengen just squatted down and told them that it wasn't very flashy to cry, which made you and Hina elbow him.

- Instead of getting more upset, however, all three boys became excited and seemed to recgonize Tengen, asking him if he was the sound Hashira, which seemed to greatly inflate his ego as he said: "Yes but I am also the God of Festivals!"/ "WOW! REALLY!?"

- You and his wives exchanged glances knowing he wouldn't shut up. When they asked if he could tell him a story of the demons he fought, he tried to be all: "Oh, it might be too scary for you kids...BUT WHAT THE HECK- So I was in the Entertainment District which is filled with prost-"/ "UZUI."/ "IT'S IMPORTANT TO THE STORY."

- Anyways, after some censoring, each boy found a home in your lap, Suma's lap, and another sat on Hinatsuru's but leaned their head on Makio's arm. All of you entranced by Tengen's storytelling and prescence.

- "Haha, such an energetic father. Those boys are definetly gonna grow up strong!"/ "I wonder which of those women are his wife?"/ "From the way they're looking at him, all four, probably."

- Tengen's voice suddenly stopped, most likely because he heard what they said, but instead of correcting him, his eyes landed on you. You could feel Hina's, Suma's, and Makio's gaze on you as well and you felt timid...but not uncomfortable. His lips upturned into a smirk and you felt yourself trying to look at ANYWHERE but the attractive faces that were staring at you.

- "Well, what happened next!?" One of the boys demanded, impatient from the cliff hanger.

- "Huh- Oh, right! Anyways, this demon CAME OUT and he was UGLY. Absolutely hideous, like a monster that crawled from under your bed-"

- When the boys finally were called home, you all waved goodbye and parted ways. Leaving you alone with the retired Hashira and his wives, you didn't say anything but the energy felt different as Suma clung to your arm and Tengen walked closer to you, Makio's eyes would stray towards you but timidly look away when you caught her gaze as Hina wished this walk would last forever. Just the five of you.

SANEMI

• You have to hide genya from him sometimes.. 💀, it's a little laugh until he actually reaches genya 😨

• loves to ruffle or mess up your hair if it fluffy or curly because it just poofs up even more which makes you agitated because you have hair in your face now

• Lives for hand, neck, or forehead kisses like just imagine you guys are just spooning and you kiss his hand he gets all blushy and stuff <3

• Not too into PDA (basically affection in public) but you can still have your pinky's intertwined or a little bit of hand holding

• if I can remember he has a dog so yeah he probably smells like one or has dog hair all over his clothes- it's gets on you sometimes 😒

GIYUU

• Likes being the little spoon, poor baby just wants to be held, also give him a bunch of forehead kisses

• Also not really in PDA but with still hold hands or have his and your pinky's intertwined

• Let's you brush and put up his hair in the morning, and if yours is long enough he'll put it up too if not he'll just help brush it

• Loves laying his head on your chest feeling it go up and down as you breathe and he can hear the faint sound of your heartbeat as you rub his back <3

• On rainy days he makes tea for you and him and you guys sit on the porch cuddling and drink the tea <3

Giyuu Tomioka

– Tomioka is a simple guy. Almost all of his days off will be spent at his house. 

– He will make some tea for you two. And some food. Is just a simple lazy day.

– He still doesn't talk much. But his smile let you know that he's happy.

Muichiro Tokito

– Do you like to watch the sky and the clouds? Because it's the way you two spend most of his day off.

– You two watch the clouds, you even tell him the forms you are seeing. You ask what form he is seeing. Well… let's just say it takes a while to him don't just say "clouds".

– You bring some snacks for you two. When It's time to go home he thanks you for the company. It's his way to say he liked to pass time with you.

Giyomei Himejima

– The day with Giyomei is relaxing and fun.

– You two enjoy some tea while talking about your favorite animals and life. How it was and how you want it to be after all the demons are killed.

– He sometimes cries thinking of someone young like you putting yourself in danger in order to be a Demon Slayer. Even if you have to comfort him, it makes you happy to have someone that is worried about you.

Tengen Uzui

– Well… while spending the day with him you are also spending time with his three wives. It's not a problem for you. You like them and they like you too.

– All of you spend the day walking and shopping. You always return home with more clothes and jewelry.

– The day is fun and agitated. At the end you enjoy some drinks with them before going home.

Obanai Iguro

– He is quiet around the other Hashiras. It's not much different with you. That doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy passing the day with you.

– Sometimes you two go out to eat, even if he doesn't eat or drink anything while with you he enjoys talking with you and listening to your voice.

  – Here and there, on the way back home you stop at some tent to look at the things they are selling. He may give you the thing you like the most when you two are going out again.

Sanemi Shinazugawa

– You always think he looks a little like a dog barking when he's mad. It wasn't a surprise to know that he likes them.

– On the first day off you two spend together a couple of them approach him. He gave half of his food to them. "That's adorable" you think, but do not tell him. You like to stay alive so much to do that.

– It transforms into a habit when you buy some candy to share with him at the end of the day. He tries to not let you know, but he's a little ashamed every time you give one candy to him, while smiling.

Rengoku Kyoujurou

– Oh boy. I hope you like to walk, cause the day with him is fun. But also tiring.

– He takes you to all his favorite places to eat, to buy clothes and to buy presents for his brother. Maybe he did not leave the stores before you chose something for you.

– He may have a lot of favorite places to eat, but that doesn't make you expect less of the food. Every time you ends experimenting something new.  

Mitsuri Kanroji

– Maybe the same as Rengoku when the topic is food. Sometimes you don't enjoy much of the food because you are most interested in enjoying her company.

– You two always stop at game tents. It's not every time some of you win something, but you like to give what you win to her. The smile on her face it's just adorable.

– At the end of the day she always gives you a big hug. You always feel like you could lose yourself there. Embracing her perfume.

Shinobu Kochou

– She may not take a day off. She wouldn't stop working if you didn't take her out to touch some grass and breathe pure air. 

– You make some tea and food for the two of you. Always chatting about little things to take her head out of killing demons. You do this to clean your head also.

– She's always smiling. You know that the most of the time her smile doesn't reach her eyes, but at the end of the day you see some happiness and appreciation behind them.

Okay I know I said I’d write these eventually but I’ll probably just write drabbles for them: Can you please do some headcanons on the Hashiras of your choice reacting to their civilian s/o being injured by a demon? THANK YOU I LOVE YOU-

Characters: Uzui, Rengoku, Obanai, Mitsuri, and Shinobu!

Tengen Uzui:

- For a brief moment that cocky exterior fades when he sees you, his eyes widen and his smirk falls but then he grits his teeth and his fists clench around his swords handles.

- He fights them off for a bit but not to kill, just to get them away from you and he orders his wives to get you to safety which they were going to do anyways because, um, DUH, THEY LOVE YOU.

- Suma is sobbing and begging you not to die, Makio is telling her to SHUT UP AND HELP, and Hina is the one that's holding you assuring you that you'll be okay.

- But back to Tengen, whose absolutely PISSED OFF. The moment you're safe, he then gives the demon the scariest goddamn glare ever and the demon realizes that they have FUCKED UP SEVERLY.

- He doesn't hold back during this fight at all and things get a bit more flashy. And by "Flashy" I mean "he brutally slaughters the bastard in cold blood because NO ONE lays a hand on his lovers, especially YOU."

- He wants the demon to feel pain but he also wraps the battle up quickly because he wants to check in on you as soon as possible. It's a bit of a hard call so he just casually lands a few brutal hits here and there before he finishes them off.

- And then he's hauling ass back to you four where he finds you asleep in Hina's lap, Suma cuddled up to your side with a tear streaked face from crying, and Makio holding your hand as she looks at Tengen as they inform him that they've managed to undo some of the damage but that they should bring you to the butterfly estate.

- He feels a lot of guilt in his heart as he sits next to you by your bed and he's there when you wake up, his wives give him alone time because he's feeling really guilty that you got hurt because of him and that the only person who can ease that guilt is you. And you do, as you kiss him and tell him that it wasn't his fault and praise him on how he flashily he defended you, which makes him smile.

- He praises you for being pretty flashy yourself, after all, not just anyone can survive a demon attack and if anything, it makes him even prouder that he's one of your lovers.

Kyojuro Rengoku:

- Rengoku wouldn't take his lover with him on a mission but I can imagine that it happens during what should've been a harmless patrol when suddenly a demon attacks and he wasn't prepared for it.

- He wasn't fast enough to react ans he regrets it because the memory plays in his head in slow motion as he watched the demon give you one brutal injury. However he gets over the shock quickly and realizes he has to protect you.

- First priority would be getting you to safety or just trying to kill the demon as fast as possible depending on how bad the injury is. If its super bad, he will try to lure the demon away from you or run with you in his arms to place you somewhere away from the demon.

- Would focus on making the demon's death quick as possible and after he's finished, he's picking you up and taking you to the Butterfly estate.

- No but him putting his Haori on you or ripping a part of it so he can tie it over your wound and cover it up is just something thats actually so precious to me. If you weren't in agonizing pain, you'd giggle over how romantic the situation is.

- HE DOES NOT LEAVE YOUR SIDE. He waits for Kanae's diagnosis for you and insists that he stay with you until you wake up. He also feels a lot of guilt, wondering how he could possibly let something like this happen to you out of all people. Yeah, it a surprise attack but he's fully convinced he should've been prepared or noticed the demon earlier.

- Holds your hand the entire night too🥺 More importantly, he's got two fingers on your pulse just because it kinda relaxes him. He trusts the medical professionals in the Butterfly estate but it makes him relax a little when he feels it.

- When you wake up, you notice your fingers intertwined with Rengoku's and he's kinda dozing but then you start moving in your bed to sit up, it wakes him up immediately and his eyes are on you as he smiles brightly at you and gets excited, "You're okay!"

- Golden retriever energy, is so thrilled that you're alright but from now on, he's a bit hesitant to let you go on night patrols with him.

Obanai Iguro:

- This man is protective as fuck and when you get hurt, he makes sure he hurts the demon 10x worse. You gotta feel bad for the demon because Obanai is already merciless to demons but this dude becomes straight up malicious as he makes the demon pay for what they did.

- Kaburamaru has to remind him that you're injured and that's when he realizes he has to finish up quickly. The minute he's done, he goes from big scary demon slayer to concerned boyfriend.

- He apologizes to you as he takes you to the butterfly estate, for putting you in a position to be hurt and for losing a control of himself during his battle with the demon.

- He will visit you as often as possible but he realizes that he can't let this happen again and starts training even harder so he can prevent this from happening in the future. He cares for very few people so with that being said, he'd rather die than let you get hurt.

- This also kinda intensifies his self-loathing as well. He already thought he was unworthy to be with someone like you but he prided himself on his abilities to protect you but this incident makes really makes him relapse for a bit.

- Either Kaburamaru was watching over you whenever Obanai was training but if he was on missions, he'd have Mitsuri watch over and inform him of when you wake up. So the first thing you see is Mitsuri's smiling face and when you ask her where Obanai is, she informs you of Obanai's behavior and now you're concerned.

- Regardless if you find him yourself or if Mitsuri runs to find him, he's apologizing for how unworthy he was to be your lover and feels horrible for what happened and that he'll make sure it never happens again.

- You tell him that he is more than worthy of your love and you kiss him reassuringly on his cheek, which makes him a little flustered but your words also just...make him so happy to hear that even when he failed to protect you, you still loved him.

- This doesn't mean he stops giving himself a harder training regimen and you're definetly gonna need to tell him to chill out and go easy on himself. Also, all demons should be very wary of him in future because this only makes his hatred for demons grow.

Mitsuri Kanroji:

- She's shocked and she's horrified when she sees your injury. When she sees the demon about to strike you, she slices its arm off and quickly grabs you to take you somewhere safe before she can face off with the demon.

- No but this girl can be absolutely vicious when she fights and while she isn't cruel or too overly violent, she is ashamed to admit that her emotions did take over for a while.

- As the love Hashira and as a person in general, Mitsuri has always loved with her heart of hearts but the love she has with you is what she's been looking for her entire life so she absolutely refuses to lose that with you.

- Insistent on helping with your recovery as well. Whatever the nurses or Kanae need her to do, she's do it. And unless she's getting in the way or if it's posing a serious threat, she also stubbornly refuses to leave you.

- NO BUT HER LOOKING AT YOU AS YOU LAY IN BED AS YOUR INJURED AND she's sitting next to you and she feels guilty so she leans over and gives you a "feel better kiss" on your cheek and that's when you wake up and it furthers her belief that you and her were meant to be true loves.

- Will make and prepare meals for you too. As you recover and if you let her, she will 100% absolutely feed you and pamper you the entire time. After every mission or training session, she's spending time with you and your recovery.

- Of course she feels bad for what happens but she can't change the past but she can use this to learn how to better protect you in the future. But yes, she's more focused on getting you back to being healthy and helping you recover.

- If YOU feel guilty for being "useless" she's quick to hold you and reassure you that you should never think of yourself like that and that she's just happy you're alive!

Shinobu Kocho:

- Oh my, this simply just won't do! She looks surprised at first but then she gives the demon a smile, a very chilling and foreboding smile that just radiates bloodlust and murderous intent.

- Her happiness was taken from her before and she'll absolutely be damned if she let's demons take it from her again. So she enters battle with the same easy going smile but her words express the hatred and the amount of anger and rage she feels towards the vile creature.

- When she's done with it, she's quick to treat you and take care of you. Honestly because she's already so well versed in medicine she's very sweet to you but as she does what has to be done to heal you, she just gently caresses your face and her smile fades a little bit as guilt eats at her heart.

- When you wake up, she's smiling once more but she's more attentive with your needs. She doesn't tease you as much for a while, unless she's having to spoonfeed you because she thinks your face is very cute all red and shy like that~

- Sees to all your needs herself, checking you over, making note on your injuries that you sustained and that you're feeling better.

- She also insists on staying with you overnight and when you feel a little better, then she'll take you back to her room where she can better provide for you there and be a bit more openly affectionate.

- At night, you can feel her arms wrap you a bit closer to her as she sleeps, as if she's having a bad dream of you being taken from her.

- She never explicitly shows she's guilty or says so but you can tell that on some level she blames herself a little. Like obviously the DEMON is the one who did this but she can't help but wonder what she could've done to prevent this.

Tengen Uzui x Reader | An old tradition

Here is another oneshot of the sound pillar. For your information: You are married to Tengen and his three wives. As the title suggests, it's about an old family tradition of your family.

Hinatsuru and you are standing together in the kitchen preparing the meal. You are washing the rice when you see out of the corner of your eye that Hina has stopped what she is doing. You feel her gaze on your neck, more specifically, around the necklace hanging around your neck. It is a shell in the colors of the rainbow, attached to a leather strap. It is your mother's necklace. You instinctively look at your necklace, too, and clasp the shell with your hand.

"It's beautiful. I like it." the black-haired woman says to her. "Where did you get it?"

"It belonged to my mothers. The necklace came from a tradition from my clan."

"What tradition?"

"When a female member of my clan is betrothed, it is a tradition that her future husband makes her a special necklace, which she will wear in the future as long as they are married to each other. The fiancé must make the necklace himself and not buy it. On the day of the wedding, the groom presents the necklace to the bride. It is a sign of the bond between the couple."

"What a beautiful tradition!" enthuses Hinatsuru.

"Yes, isn't it? I used to imagine my future husband making me a necklace like that when I was a kid, and I also used to wonder what it would look like."

Indeed you did. Unfortunately, you didn't get one when you married Tengen because he doesn't know your clan's tradition. You would never have asked him to make one, either. What you don't know, Tengen overhears you telling Hina about the old and beautiful tradition of your clan. You and the rest of his wives don't see anything of him that day.

But the next evening he comes to your room. You immediately notice that he wears his hair loose and this means that his headband does not decorate his head. You are surprised at first. One sees him nevertheless rather rarely in such a way. And you are not so familiar with this sight, which is why it even takes a short moment until you recognize him.

"I heard what you said to Hina yesterday and-," he says to you and takes out a necklace. It looks like the stones which hang from his headband. "If you had told me about your tradition back then, I would have made one for you then," he adds. However, you used to be much too shy to tell him about the tradition. You never thought it was appropriate. Which is why you never said a word about it. You only told Hinatsuru because she asked you about your mother's necklace, which you always wear. The thing with the necklace you have actually written off for yourself long ago.

You see his headband lying next to him. You notice that the stones on the sides are indeed missing. Your gaze returns to the necklace. It's really those stones!

"May I?" he asks you.

You turn your back to him and push your hair aside. Tengen puts the necklace on you. You fall around his neck and kiss him on the lips in thanks.

"You might want to give the other three a necklace like that. Otherwise they'll be sad," you tell him. In your inner eye, you already see Suma crying. 

"I'll see what I can do." he laughs.

You are still touched that he took the stones from his headband to make you a necklace for this. Because that was part of the tradition, too. Everything had to be handmade. It was forbidden to buy anything. Neither charms for the chain, nor the chain itself. It was part of the tradition to use what was available to you. You had to be creative. That's what you said to Hinatsuru. On the other hand, maybe he didn't have anything else on hand to make them in a hurry. But knowing Tengen, he didn't want to use just any stones. In his case, it wouldn't have been shiny and glamorous. For his wife, however, it had to be a particularly glamorous necklace. For the charms, he took one of his three stones from his headband. 

You never thought he would do that. Especially not that he would sacrifice his flashy headband, which he always wears, for it. But Tengen has kept to tradition. And his stones are made of real jewels. However, a necklace should not be of material value. Your father probably also took what he could find. An ancestor of yours had a braided necklace with a coin as a charm. The main thing was it was handmade. Of course, there were women who did not receive such necklaces from their husbands. But that was because they probably didn't feel like making the effort. But that was rather the rarity.

Tengen had taken the trouble and given you the most beautiful necklace on earth. A chain full of his stones. You put your mother's necklace in a place of honor and from now on wear your husband's necklace with pride.

TW: angst, some fluff, bittersweet ending. Short fic!

"You're the leech, I'm the man. I guess you don't understand."

She was perfect, but no matter how many missions I took with her. We stayed as friends. No matter how many signs I gave off she stayed the same with me.

I didn't give up, I didn't want to give up.

When my mother was ill, and bedridden. She was there, Y/n L/n. I met her the summer my mother had turned ill. She was the light of my life at the time. I still hope to believe she is.

Even if she likes him more than me.

I believe to treat everyone with respect, no matter how much I try to hate him for taking what I wanted as mine. I couldn't. He was a person I was very close with after all..

Would I fight for her? Yes.

Would I die for her? Most likely.

But would he do those things? Would he do the things I wanted to do with her that I solemnly desire to reach.

My best friend, Uzui Tengen. He already had 3 wives and is looking for a 4th. But why did it have to be her? Why did he lay his eyes on Y/n L/n of all people? My Y/n. His wives were quite fond of her too..

They all say there marriage was by fate. Or destiny.

She wasn't married too them. Not yet at least.. I would hope that she would never get married to him.

So I wouldn't have to watch her walk down the isle but not walking towards me. But towards my best friend.

So I wouldn't have to watch as they shared a kiss and how they would hold each other as it was ment too be.

So my heart wouldn't hurt and my ears wouldn't boom a heartbeat that made even the strongest men cry.

I had fallen in love. A love that wasn't returned and one sided at best.

I would tell myself, I needed to tell her how I really felt and stop putting off. But now I can't usher a word to her. Maybe a couple, "Hello." And "How'd your mission go?". But I can't connect to her like how we did when we were kids. She sticks to my heart like a leech. But I don't stick to hers. We weren't meant for each other. Maybe as platonic soulmates.

But I wanted more, I yearned for what I couldn't have.

All those summers when we were teenagers, training, talking.. Trying to connect with each other.

How she would ruffle my ruby and golden hair when she teased me. How whenever we would spar, I would let her win on purpose or when the day of my mother's anniversary would pass and she would always be there with me. Her shoulder being the one I shed my tears on.

It was wasted. I built our whole relationship hoping for something more but she put up her walls. I won't break them down. She has found happiness with him and his wives.

I should go find mine. Maybe after this mission on the train I will.

Maybe In different life. We could be different, we could be more.

I'll put on a brave face. Just for her.

Inosuke x Reader

Insouke still hasn’t returned, but a talk with Mitsuri helps you confess your true feelings for the demon slayer.

Chapter 7

Some days had past, and you hadn’t received another letter from Inosuke and they hadn’t come home either... You were beginning to get worried. The last letter he sent said they should be back any time now. What was going on? You sat outside in the quart yard re-reading the letter Inosuke had sent that Tanjiro had wrote for him when you heard a voice that startled you out of your thoughts.

“Hello, you look like somethings awfully wrong.” The voice said. You looked up to see Mitsuri standing above you.

“Mind if I join you?” She asked.

“No of course not.” You said, and the Hashira sat down to join you. “Actually Mitsuri.. I think maybe you’re the only person who would understand.”

“Oh I see..” She said looking closer at you. “It appears you're missing someone you love.” She said with a smile.

“I wouldn’t say that!” You said feeling your cheeks get warm.

“Are you sure? You’re sitting out here reading some letter watching the sunset... That seems very romantic to me. You can't fool me you know I am the love Hashira.”

“Love is just a strong word.”

“Ok someone you like.” She settled.  

“Yeah, that’s fair.” You said admitting your feelings for Inosuke the first time aloud. It felt like a weight off your shoulders not keeping it all bottled up anymore.

“Well, where are they?” She asked.

“On a mission in the entertainment district.”

“Oh! I know that mission. He wouldn't happen to be one of the three boys that recently came here, would he?”

“Umm yeah.”

“Which one?? Tell me!! Tell me!” She begged moving closer to you.

“Umm Inosuke the one that wears the boar mask.”

“Mhm mhm I could see that. He definitely has some nice features about him.” She said. You felt your cheeks get warm. That wasn’t exactly why you found yourself attracted to Inosuke but she wasn’t wrong either and finally sharing your thoughts out loud was making you realize how much he really had been on your mind.

“Awe look at you! You’ve got it so bad you’re blushing at just the thought of him! That is so sweet.” She said. “It makes it hard for me to break this news to you...” Mitsuri said looking off and twirling her hair.

News?? What News could she have??  

“You see I've gotten word that an upper demon is at the entertainment district.. And if that's true...” She trailed off looking at the sunset.

You felt your body want to shatter into pieces. An upper demon??? Inosuke was a fighter but there was no mistaking that he was not trained enough to take on an upper demon... even with the other two boys and Tengen. There was a good chance he wasn’t coming back... You felt your eyes begin to swell with tears.

“Oh please don’t cry!” Mitsuri said. “Mr. Uzui is a fierce fighter and I know his wives were there too. They are trained Shinobi you know!” Mitsuri said. She pulled you into a hug and placed your head on top of her chest and squeezed you.  

“Mitsuri..” you said mumbled into her chest.

“PLEASE DONT GIVE UP HOPE OK!” She yelled.

“MITSURI I CAN’T BREATH!” You yelled mumbeld again. She let go of you immediately.

“Right sorry. It just pains me to see new lovers not able to reunite.”

"We are not lovers!” You said tears still finding way to fall down your face.

“No? Well, if that’s the case I would advise you to tell that demon slayer how you feel the second he gets back if he survives this battle. Every moment is precious you know, and you can’t waste love so carelessly! Promise me, if your demon slayer comes back, you make the most of it ok! Or I'll go tell him myself how you feel.” She scolded you.

"I promise Mitsuri.” You said.

Zenitsu rolls his eyes when a girl approaches him with a bouquet of flowers. No, that wouldn't be his reaction if he thought that was meant for him, but he knows it isn't.

"Since you're Tanjirou's friend could you please–"

"No," he cuts her off, feeling bad when he notices the sad and confused expression on her face. But he knows it's better that way, besides, she'll probably get over it soon since it's just a crush (judging by the way her heart is beating).

"Why?"

"You'll be wasting your time," Zenitsu mumbles and then gestures at her to follow him until they're in the backyard. "He's taken."

He doesn't need to say anything else, she sees it all: Tanjirou is taking a break, sitting on the grass when the flame hashira takes him in his arms and squeezes him until Kocho gets angry and tells him to let him breathe. Tanjirou is not upset at all, he's used to the Pillars forgetting about personal space when it comes to him, even though he has no idea why they do that.

"So, does Rengoku-san..." She doesn't even get to finish because the mist hashira appears and gives Tanjirou a kiss on the cheek. "What? But..."

Zenitsu doesn't say anything at all, he knows she'll figure it out, like everyone does; it's not that difficult to notice since all the hashira are everything but subtle.

"Oh, I get it now..." She mumbles right before Himejima leans closer to Tanjirou to nuzzle affectionately against the redhead's cheek. "They all love him."

Yes, they do, which is why no one else has any chance with Tanjirou. At first Zenitsu thought one of the Pillars would end up being the chosen one, but lately it seems that none of them want to give up on Tanjirou; he's almost sure they all have agreed to share him.

Out of the corner of his eye, Zenitsu notices two boys talking to each other; he doesn't need to get closer to know they're speaking of Tanjirou and how pretty he is.

One of them is determined to ask him out, but the idea dies quickly in his mind as he watches Shinazugawa walk in the butterfly estate with a very tired Tanjirou in his arms.

"It's just a scratch, Shinazugawa-san," the redhead assures him. "You need to let the kakushi do their job."

The wind hashira is not letting anyone near Tanjirou, cradling him close to his chest and growling at whomever tries to approach them. Fortunately, Uzui and his wives are there and while Makio scolds Shinazugawa for making everything more difficult, the other two take Tanjirou to one of the recovery rooms.

Uzui kisses the boy's cheek before Aoi and the butterfly girls start patching him up.

"It's a shame he's taken already," the boy mumbles to his friend, before both of them sigh in defeat before leaving the room.

At least Zenitsu didn't have to explain anything this time.

Honestly, Zenitsu understands Tanjirou's appeal; he's beautiful, kind and does everything he can to help other people. The problem is that he's unbelievable oblivious and seems to think people just want to be friends with him.

The other problem, for demon slayers and kakushi and most people who develop a crush on him is that all the hashira (deadliest swordsmen alive) have called dibs on him a while ago.

"Why are the cute ones taken?" Zenitsu hears a kakushi girl complain as she watches Tanjirou being squeezed in between Kanroji and Iguro.

"Of course the Pillars take the best ones for themselves!" Another huffs as the love hashira keeps kissing Tanjirou's face before offering him a couple of rice balls.

Not all of them, Zenitsu thinks as he feels relief spread all over his chest and thanks the gods the hashira are so in love with Tanjirou they are incapable of seeing anyone else...

So he can focus on Nezuko.

However, he is glad for his friend, even though sometimes it irritates him the blatant adoration coming from the Pillars, Zenitsu knows they'd do anything for Tanjirou. And he's sure he'll be in good hands, they clearly know how to take care of him.

The only thing he needs to do is to see what's in front of him.

"I have never seen the water hashira being so soft with anyone before," a slayer comments, as Tomioka greets Tanjirou by pulling him into his arms.

The other Pillars arrive then; lately they've been trying to be in the butterfly estate whenever Tanjirou comes back from a mission. It's obvious to anyone who pays a little bit of attention that they want to spend as much time with him as they can.

Even Zenitsu thinks that's kinda sweet.

"I hope he marries them all. I can't imagine him choosing just one; they all love him so much..."

They do. Honestly Zenitsu agrees with the kakushi girl, they adore him too much... As they gather around Tanjirou and the redhead beams at them, Zenitsu realizes that they all are like a big family already.

Maybe it'll take them a while to get to marry him, but Zenitsu is sure they will.

They'll make him happy and honestly Tanjirou deserves all the happiness in the world.

But that never stopped him from walking long distances to come and play with you

Even know, as a teenager, he comes to visit you and make sure you're alright

Never in his life has he ever complained about the long walk he has to take to your home since it was always the best part of the day

Especially after a mission, he would rant to you about it and sometimes he'd talk 'bout his big brother Sanemi and how much he admired him

Seeing you laugh with the stories he told always brought a smile to his face

But after a couple visits, you started acting weird and rejecting the offers Genya would ask you about or bring you

Eventually, after convincing you to spill the beans you did and it honestly broke Genya's heart a bit

He never thought about he you felt like a burden he had to take care of because you were such a weak and fragile person

When first meeting Rengoku as kids he somewhat scared you from his upbeat personality and how much energy he had

Especially when he'd pop out of nowhere from the side of your bed scarring you

Slowly, you grew accustomed to being around his hyper self

He did ask why you were always in bed and you responded with telling him you were much weaker than other kids and would get very sick out of the blue

Of course he understood and played inside your house with you making you feel like a normal child

As the two of you grew, the amount of energy he had never failed to impress you one bit

His loud a booming voice was your favorite things to hear especially when he'd visit you and shout a, 'I've arrived, Y/n!' from the front door

It was both funny and cute

Rengoku must've noticed something in your behavior when you'd sometimes decline certain things and even asked him to leave early if he wanted

Eventually, you told him what was bothering you only for him to laugh

The Emptiness You Left

UZUI'S P.O.V.

Her body lays lifeless on the ground, covered in her own blood. I failed. I spent all this time training her, thinking she was strong enough, but in the end, it wasn't enough. I should have stopped her. I should have done something.

"Uzui!" someone calls out to me.

But I can't move. I lift her head into my lap, cradle her in my arms, and kiss her forehead as dark thoughts swirl around my head.

I should have been there for her.

Tears form in my eyes that I can't control. They roll down my cheeks. Even the scream across the room doesn't phase me as I hold her limp body.

"Y/N," I whisper. "Please wake up."

But she doesn't.

Little do I know, Doma is pinned to the ground, his neck cut wide open, but I don't even notice. All I can do is stare down at her.

It's not until Rengoku walks over and places a hand on my shoulder that I realize where I am. I had forgotten all about the fight we were in. She is dead. Nothing else matters. Why should it?

"Lord Uzui, we're too late. She's-" he begins until I shove him away from me.

"You know, if you didn't make that stupidly flashy appearance then she wouldn't have been bitten!" I shout at him.

"And how was I supposed to know that?" he scoffs.

My blood boils at his words. Ever since he met Y/N he's been necklace around her. Doesn't he understand that she's my apprentice and he shouldn't even be paying attention to her? It's not like she would return the feelings. She doesn't want any of that. And I'd rather keep her to myself than watch her get her heart broken by that brat.

"There is a way. There's always a fucking way," I yell, pulling out my sword and pinning Rengouke up against the nearest wall. My eyes narrow as I press my blade against his throat. "Why did you have to interrupt our fight? Why didn't you let me kill him first?!"

His eyes widen as he shakes his head profusely. "I'm sorry. I-I didn't..."

"What is this worth, anyway," I scoff, letting go and returning my gaze back to her. "If I can't save her, I'm better off dead."

"Lord Tengen!" a soft voice then calls out. My eyes lift to see Suma cautiously approaching us. "Do you really mean that?"

My whole body freezes. It's not just Suma. All three of my wives are standing in the doorway with their swords in their hands. Suma's eyes are filled with tears as she steps forward. "Please, don't say things like that!"

All I can manage to do is shake my head. "You weren't meant to hear that."

"And you didn't have to say it, but it's how you feel..." she replies softly.

As I step back, I unintentionally give them a clearer view of Y/N's cold body on the ground. Suma gasps when she sees her and rushes over. Her hands immediately reach out, but she stops just before her fingertips brush against her pale cheek.

"She's dead, Suma," Makio adds from behind me as she and Hinatsuru approach us.

Hinatsuru nods in agreement as she kneels down and hugs Suma from the side.

"This is a very bad situation," another voice calls out. Simultaneously, Rengoku and I turn our heads to see Master Ubuyashiki stepping his way through the rubble.

"Huh?!" Rengoku gasps, whipping his head around to look for something. "Where's his body? I don't understand, I thought I killed him!"

Master Ubuyashiki shakes his head. "We have to get Y/N back immediately."

Rengoku nods, but all I can do is quietly peer down at Y/N again. Suma wraps her arms around me, but I don't even feel her. I don't feel a thing. Not even as my feet carry me out of the destroyed temple and back home.

The day of the funeral carries a surreal beauty. The sun shines warmly and the air carries a sweet scent, almost mocking the heavy hearts present. The girls stand beside me, their faces solemn, though I can tell they are hurting the worst. They had become so attached to Y/N in such a short amount of time. Hinatsuru and Makio let their tears flow, while Suma only sniffles. She's cried so much in the past week she most likely has nothing left to shed.

But I don't cry. My body can't seem to display any emotion. Instead, my gaze remains fixed, staring blankly ahead.

The ceremony is simple, a quiet farewell to our dear Y/N. We lay her to rest beside her sister in a peaceful spot off the estate, a place I'm sure she'd prefer. The earth receives her and many tears fall to the ground.

When it is my turn to say one last goodbye, I fix the piece of jewelry around her neck that I had given to her before reaching into my pocket. I look down and toy with the flashy ring in my hand. I'm not sure if it was really her style, I had only really considered what I liked. Maybe she would have liked a ring with more of a simple design.

A single tear manages to slip from my eye as I lean down and press a gentle kiss to her forehead. My heart aches as I slide the ring onto her finger.

"I'm sorry I failed you," I whisper. "I should have never let this happen."

I close my eyes and try to block out the background noise of the others waiting behind me. The next time I open them, her face is gone. Her body is gone, too.

The dirt settles, covering your form, and all that remains is the emptiness you left. It's a void I'll need to navigate, haunted by the memories of your absence, and the future you'll never get to see.

Reader couldn't move, couldn't scream, couldn't run away, so what could they do? A small rebellion in the form of fasting, or simply not eating. "N/n, please, eat something." Suma begged as they were holding a bowl of ramen, Reader was facing Suma laying on the shared futon . "Hina made you your favorite."

"I'm not hungry." Reader knew that ignoring Suma would lead to arguments, and they really didn't have the energy for that. But it seemed that their passiveness set off Suma today.

She started to cry and sob as Reader turned around so that they wouldn't have to face Suma, lately they started to feel guilty when Suma would cry. They were slowly falling in love with Tengen and his wives and they hated it.

"Makio!" Suma shouted as she sobbed, Makio was the one Reader feared the most besides Tengen. After all, she had no problem in restorting to violence if it got Reader to eat.

"What's wrong, Suma?" Makio questioned as she rushed into the room. But when she saw the full bowl of ramen, she knew enough. "Reader doesn't want to eat! And Hina made their favorite! Spicy Ramen! Tengen-san doesn't even let them eat this!" Suma rambled. "I'm just not hungry." Reader piped up, trying to calm the situation. "My stomach hurts."

This caused Makio to scoff. "That's because you haven't been eating." Reader started to roll on their back. "Maybe." they replied, they knew what would happen next. Makio sat down next to Reader's head and pulled them up. "Give me the bowl, Suma." Suma was still sobbing and it was starting to annoy Makio. when she recieved the bowl she said: "Go help Hina get the house ready for Tengen's arrival."

When Suma left, Makio started feeding Reader forcefully. "If you don't eat now, I will get Tengen-san to feed you and you will get extra time with your past punishment." It was enough for Reader to obey, they hated the chain around their ankle. "Small bites, please."

Makio nodded and started to feed them slowly, after a while the bowl was completely empty. And right on que Tengen walked in. "Tengen-san, Reader ate the whole bowl." Makio commented when she saw the look on her husband's face. "Such a good darling." Tengen muttered, mentioning to Makio to hand them over. "Did you enjoy the food?" Hinatsuru questioned as she walked in to collect the bowl, Suma clingy to her co-wife. "Yes, it was delicious Hinatsuru."

Reader never used any of their nicknames, it was a way to distant themselves from them, another form of rebellion. Yet one that always goes unpunished. "Hina, Makio, Suma, please leave us alone for a while." Perhaps that ends today.

"Don't be too harsh on them, Tengen." Hinatsuru whispered in his ear. Tengen was holding Reader close to his heart, his body completely covering Reader's form. When the three women left, Tengen sighed. "I heard from Suma that you are having difficulties adapting when I'm not here."

"Suma isn't giving me time to adapt." A chuckle left Tengens mouth. "We both know, that isn't true, my dear."

"Well, maybe you shold take me out more." Reader mumbled. Tengen didn't like this His hold became tighter and his face hardened, until an idea popped up.

"Perhaps if you behave properly, I'll plan a special date."

22. Rengoku Kyojuro.

I don't think man can dance. I firmly believe in my heart he has all the intentions and passion in the world but he's stiff as a board with two left feet. Unlike his grace when fighting, he never really had much opportunity to learn or practice dancing, so I imagine he wouldn't be very experienced. Reader doesn't care though, they love him that way. And he loves them, will take any and every opportunity to hold them and make them smile even if he looks and feels a little silly (and vice versa!!!).

So they dance (reader's skills tbd, honestly doesn't matter). One person convinces the other, maybe as a way to cheer them up, who is who doesn't matter. It can be anywhere. Their home on their own. At a festival. Their wedding. Modern AU anything.

It's cute, it's warm, it's all smiles and blushy cheeks and bright eyes as your fingers interlace, swaying and turning.... Pure, easy intimacy. Fluff and/or hurt/comfort at its best. I just want to give this man as much domestic happiness as possible, he deserved so much more.

Kyojuro and you had always had a complicated past. After the whole mission he had with who you found out was an upper moon demon. You felt terrible. You noticed how he became slightly distant towards you and you were determined to figure it out.

There was a festival in the nearest town later in the evening and everyone was going. Mitsuri had told you he was going to be there as well. This was what you needed.

Having trouble even going up to him or talk to him the past two weeks have been rough. So you needed to catch him off guard.

You dressed in a fiery red kimono with a white bow tied around your waist. You also wore a red charm in your hair, which was tied up neatly. Thanks to the help of Shinobu.

You entered the town and looked around in awe. The sun was setting and the lights were simmering ever so slightly. This place was beautiful.

Remembering why you were here you decided to look around the food stalls for the flame hashira. He seemed stressed, like he was running from something. You heard from Shinobu that as soon as he was able to walk, he was practicing and back fighting again.

This left you a bit unsettled, you hoped you could talk some sense into him. Especially since Shinobu also mentioned he had hurt himself countless times while training. He shouldn't be pushing himself. And it pained you to even think about him doing so.

You walked around for a little longer before you see his bright hair poking out in one of the restaurants. He sat with Tengen and his wives.

He smiled. Oh his smile. You couldn't help but smile too. It was always so bright and filled with emotion. You walked over.

"Hey! Uzui's and Kyojuro." Kyojuro immedietly avoided you and moved around in his seat, as if he was anxious.

"Well, I think my wives and I will be going to get some drinks!" Tengen stood up, lighting tapping your back in encouragement. Whispering low enough for you to hear.

"Take care of him okay?" He helped his wives and went on his way.

You took Tengen's seat, which was in front of Kyojuro.

"Kyojuro?" You looked at him. He was looking down at the food, which he picked at. Something unlike him.

"Are you doing alright? You haven't really talked to me the past couple weeks." You brought up. It pained you to see he seemed to not want to be around you.

"I'm fine." Frowning at his response you stole one of his california rolls. "Hey-"

"What's up with you." Narrowing your eyes at the owl eyed man. He finally looked up at you and held eye contact. His fire like eyes, sparked.

"Nothing is wrong I ju-" He seemed bothered so you cut him off.

"Walk with me?" You stood up and held your hand. The music around the town was loud, but not too loud. It was perfect. A walk could do you both good.

He looks up at you and smiles. He couldn't help it. He missed you. Even in fear of his own thoughts, he missed your smile, your laugh, and the way your eyes lit up any room you walked into.

"Absolutely." He interlocks his hand with yours.

And so the two of you were walking, hands connected in silence. Even if there was no conversation between him and you. You felt at ease. You missed this too. But you couldn't help but still feel off. The way he wasn't smiling as much, and just looking off into space. As if you were not there.

You looked around the town. People were laughing and dancing. You had an idea.

"Kyojuro!" You jumped in front of him, startling him. "Dance with me?" You looked at him and he brought a hand to the back of his neck, rubbing awkwardly.

"I haven't danced in a long time."

"Come onnn." You tug at his hand and bring him towards where the others were waltzing.

The music was slow. Pulling Kyojuro closer, placing a hand in his once more. Lacing your fingers with his own. Another hand rested on his shoulder. He looked lost as he held his free hand up.

"Uhm.."

You laughed. And he watched. You threw your head back slightly before looking back at him. Taking his free hand you place it on your waist. A light pink dusted his cheeks. "You hold here okay?"

He stood awkwardly and stiff. You noticed this and couldn't help but smile at him. He was usually so chill and flowing with his movements. Yet he couldn't dance?

"You seem stiff hot stuff." You joked around earning a soft chuckle to erupt from him. "I never learned how to dance like this." He admitted shamefully.

Even if he didn't, he loved being close to you again. You've shared hugs before, but this felt different. In a good way.

"Oops, my apologies!" A man had bumped into Kyojuro causing him to stumble closer to you and tighten his grip. A warm feeling rose in your chest and your cheeks felt aflame.

You giggled softly before moving slowly. "Follow my lead."

Although he stepped on your toes a couple times, and lost rhythm, you had fun.

Leaning your head on his shoulder, swaying slowly to the music. "Why did you ignore me for so long...?"

He stayed silent for a minute. "I felt weak." You frowned and cocked your head back to look at him. E/c eyes meeting his own blood orange ones.

The music suddenly speeds up a bit and the two of you start turning. Holding eye contact. "You are not weak." Mumbling out before turning your head down to watch his feet, careful to avoid his missing steps.

"I could have died Y/n." A great sentence to shove a knife through your heart. Your eyes tear up. Grateful you looked down. "But you didn't, you were strong enough."

"Barely." A wave of awkward silence fell.

"I missed you." You mumble. He removes your laced hands to bring it up under your chin, pulling you back to look into his eyes. It hurt him to see your eyes so watery and glossed over.

"I'm sorry." He mutters. "I just didn't know how to come to you, I was scared. What if I'm too weak to protect you one day?"

You melted. "Kyojuro.."

"Fuck." He loved the way his name rolled of your tongue, how it rang in his ears.

"I just love you so much Y/n. I want to be by your side, to protect you.. but what if I can't? What if you get hurt." You swore you could hear your heartbeat in your ears from his confession.

He was nervous, but he was telling you. Scared of rejection, for he could be too weak for you.

"I love you too Kyojuro. You are not weak, we'll fight together. We'll do lots together, on the days you are weak I will be stronger. For you." You smiled, tears threatening to spill. He deserved so much, you could never understand if anyone ever hated this man. He was the warmest, kindest, and selfless man you have ever met.

His thumb wiped the tears and he pulled you into a hug. His arms wrapped tightly around you. By now the two of you had stopped spinning around, just swaying slowly back and forth.

"I missed you too and I'm terribly sorry I couldn't have much confidence to approach you." His hand rubbed up and down your back.

"I forgive you. But please, don't ever do that again. It hurt to see you smile with others." He heart ached at your words, he regretted ever doing what he did. "I promise."

You look into his eyes and he leans down. His breath softly hitting your lips. You closed your eyes, awaiting a kiss.

Nothing. You crack open one eye and realize he's admiring you. "Kyojuro if you don't kiss me right now-" He cut you off the moment he knew he could kiss you. The kiss felt meaningful, it was soft and in sync, unlike the dance the two of you shared. His lips were rough, not too rough. Yours were soft. He wish he had done this sooner, but oh was the wait worth it.

The feel you melting into his arms, into his lips. He smiled and pulled back. "I love you."

"You suck at dancing by the way."

It is me again! Well, here's the one about Shinobu and Tengen because I really loved the idea

Tengen: Ko-kocho please, it was just a joke, I didn't really mean it...

Shinobu: You spanked Aoi, you almost kidnapped my girls and you threw one away, do you think I'll forgive you?

Tengen: But, you can't hurt me, I'm already hurt...

Shinobu: Yes, but I'll do something that will make you wish Gyutaro had cut off your head.

Tengen got worried, he didn't know what Shinobu would do to him, until he felt a weight on his arm, he looked strange only to see the hashira of the insect raised on that arm, smiling with slight mischief. He breathed a sigh of relief, he could pick her up immediately if he did something to him, well... That was what he thought.

Tengen: Shinobu, what are you-AHH!

Shinobu: What's up Uzui-San?

Tengen: Shinobu, no.

Shinobu: Mmmm... Don't worry, I won't hurt you, I'll just give you a little penance for your mistake

Tengen immediately gritted his teeth, he didn't plan on giving Shinobu the pleasure of seeing him laugh, but the hashira's hands were so small that they entered his armpit, those fingers went up, down and danced over his exposed armpit like spiders. He knew that at some point he would get bored or let him go, or so he thought.

Tengen: Shihinobu nohoho!! Ghh!! Stohohop! Grr!

Shinobu: I do not plan to do it, this is not even half of what I will do to you, I recommend you take a breath, I will do the same

Everything happened so fast that Uzui didn't even notice the movements of the hashira, which was now blowing and blowing raspberries on your exposed abdomen. Every time he tried to push her away, she would immediately throw her hand to attack his armpit, thus avoiding the attack. It was almost 3 raspberry minutes in a row, his hair was messier than when he woke up, his eyes were teary from laughing, but Shinobu still wasn't satisfied

Tengen: PLehehehahahahahhahse, Kohohocho no mohohore... I'm sorry

Shinobu began to play with Uzui's toes, it seemed that this especially tormented him, his entire foot was so sensitive that there was no place that just a touch would not make him laugh. Tengen begged his wives to let him go, but they denied and scoffed.

Finally, Tengen was free to breathe easy, he curled up on the side of the bed, a few tears spilling from his one eye and staining his cheeks flushed.

Tengen: Thahahat's was so unflahahahshy...

Makio: Of course not, it was very fair

Shinobu: I hope it serves as a lesson to you Uzui... I'm leaving

Well, it seems that since then Tengen learned to respect, he didn't want that to happen again, or maybe he want to repeat this again?
