We don't actually know much about the Riddles. They likely lived in Yorkshire, Lancashire, or the very west of Cornwall (200 miles from Surrey as per Goblet of Fire), but I think it's more likely they lived in the North, specifically in Yorkshire. The Riddle's name is probably locational rather than profession based, and from a village called Ryedale in the North Riding of Yorkshire. It was probably mutated over time because spelling wasn't standardised or even close to standardisation when last names were beginning to become a thing (roughly 11th century in Britain).

Okay, now the reason I went into that is because I believe the Riddles were the big guys back in the day (by which I mean late medieval period c. 1100s until the late 1500s) and were the kind of wealthy landowners who employed serfdom potentially even past the Peasant's Revolt of 1381. I know a lot of people place them as merchants who made money from trade but based on their name and location (Yorkshire is famous for its sheep) I think it's more likely they were landowners. They probably had pretty solid generational wealth, potentially even being landed gentry (a class of gentry who made their money on leasing land and known as lords of the manor), although I'm fairly certain they lost most of this later. I don't think they ever were part of the peerage (the level above gentry in the British aristocracy who hold hereditary titles) but gentry usually married into peerage and vis versa so they were likely quite connected despite never being "Lords" themselves. They got their name through their association with the village as the big whigs.

Even if the Riddles had kept up serfdom for a century or so after the Peasants Revolt (entirely plausible), serfdom was abolished by Elizabeth I in 1574. Whenever they stopped working as part of the feudal system, I don't think it had major impacts on their wealth. Like I mentioned above, they were probable landed gentry, making their money by leasing out land and still profiting off the lower classes.

With the Industrial Revolution and the Agricultural Depression of the 1870s, I think they would've lost quite a bit of money, potentially even their place as landed gentry. They would've still been quite rich, but their wealth was probably in decline and they had to look elsewhere. Maybe they never succeeded in this.

The thing is, we know next to nothing about the Riddles and the family we see through Tom Riddle's eyes is one that's lost status and connections because of the scandal of Riddle Snr. having run off with Merope without being married and (rumours have it!) having a child out of wedlock. The Riddle family probably declined economically with WWII (and to a lesser extent WWI) as well, although they never got a chance to really see the era through properly due to their… untimely deaths.

I think if Tom had been raised by the Riddles, they may not have fallen so far, providing Riddle Snr. married Merope before her death, or at least had falsified documents that he did. Tom would've still grown up in declining wealth, but more than enough money still to not have to work. Life for Tom would've been far better, what without starvation, disease, poverty and later, bombs and would've remain largely untouched by the war. The Great Depression wouldn't have it so hard, and Tom, not being surrounded by so much death, would've been fundamentally altered. I'm not sure what the Riddle's reaction to Tom being magic would've been like, but I'll leave that to any writers. All in all, Tom missed out on a far better life.

I really liked Father Gregor because honestly his design is cool in my opinion and I liked that even though he's a priest who in other shows I've seen are almost always made as good and flawless people but in spooky month Father Gregor still has his flaws especial his flaw with how fast he went to blaming Skid and Pump for being the ones who caused Moloch to be freed (there kinda at fault but c'mon their kids)

also Moloch has to have my FAVORITE design for a demon I've seen in media I love how he has the hooves like one's that goats have since how much goats are associated with demons, I adore the furnace type of thing seen on his stomach, and I like how his hands and claws look

and also because Moloch created in my personal the funniest scene in the episode when he panics when his name is revealed to Father Gregor by Pump

also some things about Moloch possession it seems that he can just posses anyone he decides to posses and that he can also posses and control multiple people at a time and when he is not possessing a body he is either in his demon form or in a liquid form

final thing about Moloch is that I kinda feel bad for him for some reason (I think it's just because of how sad Skid and Pump were when seeing that Father Gregor killed him)

When people go out of their way to say "all trans men are" or act like all trans mascs are a specific thing only, like a femboy, or a sissy, it's transphobic because it's debasing people to a kink and not recognizing that these can be aspects of a person, but not their entire personality. When someone treats a kink like the default for a type of person, it's offensive. Gay men got reasonably upset when people kept expecting and depicting them to be effeminate because it was rightfully offensive as fuck. We shouldn't be debasing people to sexual roles and stereotypical presentations grounded in bigotry. In your examples, that's transandrophobia. Beyond this, I will disagree with everything except your sign off.

Transgender men are not 'biological women'. They're men. Medically, commonly assigned female at birth (afab). I say "commonly" because intersex transgender men exist and the term 'afab' isn't all inclusive of the biological reality we're dealing with. The term "women" is a social term, not a medical one, that relates a person to experiences of womanhood and defines them as a woman by proxy. This is incorrect. Transgender men are men, period. If you're talking biology, use biology terms. Social terms belong in social contexts. Conflating the two aids no one and instead walks right into the rhetoric fascists like the so called "radfems" and "gender criticals" use to associate sex with gender as falsely inseparable terms.

Also, no again to "you cannot change sex". That is a falsity in the reality of modern science. We can make functional penises for transgender men, this is widely documented, and modern science has procedures that would allow an individual to no longer be accurately medically classified as "female" and even "male". One such procedure is called SRS or Sex Reassignment Surgery, sometimes referred to under a broader category of Gender Confirming Surgery or GCS that covers the creation or removal of primary and secondary sex characteristics. Now before we get on the "what do I mean by functional" train, I'm deliberately not including sperm production or egg production in this statement because if that's your argument that it's not 'functional' unless it can be used to reproduce, you're an asshole that just said sterile men aren't men, and post-menopausal women aren't women, and fuck you. Men and women aren't defined by their ability to reproduce. That's bioessentialist bullshit that can fuck right off, this ain't the fucking 1960's.

I'm being highly specific here because I want to be very clear that the terms we use have impact, they're meant to be used in certain contexts and conflating terms with eachother doesn't help us make the points that we're trying to here.

The real meat of this though is that these sexualizations as femboys and sissy's being default used on trans masculine people in general is deliberately denying transgender men and mascs their masculinity. If a transgender man or masc chooses to express themself in such a way, that's their choice. But it's a choice an individual is making, not a collective. It doesn't matter what a transgender man or masc looks like, it matters how they want to be treated, and denying them that treatment to force them into a sexual role they don't agree with is a big fucking baaaaaaaaaaad move. We talk about sexual liberation in being 2SLGBTQIA+, and defining ourselves our way, but doing this to trans mascs is just reflavouring homophobia to attack a different group. Fucking stop it. Let trans mascs and transgender men be masculine. Stop default coding them as feminine.

Something I think people are missing when they talk about the whole Day 12 thing with Tubbo and Bad is that Tubbo is just like that sometimes, especially with people he’s close to. Depending on how you look at it that's not necessarily better or worse, but I think it’s an important factor because so much of the recent BBH Purgatory discussion is about how he’s singled out and that’s something Tubbo would do to anyone. He’ll get a minor irritation stuck in his head just as hard as a major problem and then refuse to let it go. The amount of ranting he does isn’t always an accurate measure of how important it is to him and “I’m still on this” (or any variation) is practically his catchphrase. I’m not trying to downplay in-character analysis, it’s a trait of both streamer and character, but it’s something you might not realize if you don’t watch Tubbo very often.

Yeah, this is also a part of it. Tubbo is very passionate about things, and sometimes those things are minor grudges that he gets stuck on for no good reason just because it’s fun for him to get annoyed at them and rant. But this is more of a cc! part of things than in character one (tho all of Tubbo’s characters also have this trait more or less).

For me, I really think it’s because Tubbo is very frustrated with the Day 12 itself, and out of everything that went wrong Bad dying is the only concrete moment he can single out. Because Quackity dying doesn’t really count in lore because he wasn’t there really (which is such bullshit btw, this is my Day 12 Roman Empire, Quackity’s death SHOULDN’T have influenced the percentage) and anyone else wasn’t there either to do the quests, for objective irl reason, so q!Tubbo also can’t really be mad at them and also who would he be mad with out of everyone on the team absent? All of them? Choose a specific person?

Meanwhile Bad was there and he died after doing something Tubbo told him not to (note: this is neutral, I am not discussing right now the moment itself and how justified Bad going in was). So it’s a concrete thing that he can blame on the percentage loss without it being meta or ‘why are you mad at me and not the others who did the same’. And it was really hard emotionally day for him, the combination of cc!Tubbo (well, q!Tubbo too but for the sake of the point we will count it as more of a cc! trait) being very competitive and q!Tubbo genuinely believing that Soulfire is cursed and that they absolutely must win this day to tie (I am pretty sure he believed it was the last day that counts? But I might be wrong) or (later) to win the Purgatory and save all the Eggs (which was his one and only goal truly, he was really clear about not straying from it even when it felt that a lot of characters forgot what it’s all for). So he singled Bad out and concentrated on it as the sole reason they lost Day 12, seething.

Now, for cc!Tubbo it’s mostly a bit, even if he acts genuinely ’not over this’, he is just having fun. And q!Tubbo may still have this grudge, but overall it does not outweigh his newfound comradery with Bad and respect for him. But q!Tubbo is also very much a Negative Nancy, he LOVES to just rant about stuff that ‘annoys’ him and get on his friends nerves. Like he find a thing and just keeps pushing it (ex: Bagi’s ‘incest’ tendencies, everything concerning Fitpac, Phil’s age and a lot of other stuff, Foolish and ‘you made it awkward now’, etc) and Day 12 is his thing for Bad along with cursing/inappropriate jokes.

Do I think it’s fair to q!Bad? When /srs – no; when /lh – yes, because it’s funny. Do I think it can count as an example of how people keep blaming Bad for everything about Purgatory? Yes. Do I think it’s actually the same as with other characters? Not at all.

All the other prominent negative after-Purgatory characterizations of Bad are concentrated on him being a bloodthirsty monster that terrorized everyone (only partially true and definitely not unique to his character). Meanwhile Tubbo never really talked about Bad being a ‘monster’ in Purgatory (afterwards) in any negative light as far as I remember, it was always very neutral. Or at least not blaming him for it. His grudge is a completely my teammate did a dumb thing so I will forever remind him it. Which tho still unfair is not hypocritical when what other characters do.

Obviously this is just my take on the situation, everyone can perceive it a bit differently, especially because I am writing this as a Tubbo main, so my view on things is skewed towards him.

• So, my birthday was in June and the following SR placements are some placements which are quite accurate with my current life and situations so far. This is my own observation and experience so please take this with a pinch of salt.

♥︎ SR moon in capricorn - Since my birthday, I've been feeling like I'm bottling up my feelings and closing off myself. I became much more quieter than I'd ever been and showing my emotions to other people feel vulnerable for me. And I also feel very lonely without a particular reason. I also often feel like I'm not getting enough freedom and feel suffocated too much. And I don't know I feel like my feelings are all tangled up at times and I sometimes have suicidal thoughts too. Mental problems occured a lot. Occurring till now. I don't feel productive at all with this placement but in upcoming months I will be productive maybe because my university year is starting after 3 or 4 months from now.

♥︎ SR moon in SR 5th house - Well, I've been flirtatious since my birth month specifically. And I also often get feelings like "Ok I want to go on dates" and I always want to have fun, go to amusement parks, hang out with friends, go to parties and all of those leo-themed stuffs. I've become a bit playful since then and in my mind, I'm always desiring to go out and have fun. Home feels like a prison for me at this moment. Plus, I also got a boyfriend recently and what makes it crazier is that my august lunar return chart's rising sign is taurus which is a bit of an indicator of getting into a relationship with someone (since it is ruled by venus) and I got into a relationship with him 5 days ago. I.N.S.A.N.E.

♥︎ SR moon in natal 6th house - I'm currently stressed out a lot about my future and my everything by observing at how I'm staying unproductive all day long, laying on the couch and not focusing enough on my daily routines. I feel like I'm not using my time usefully and wasting my teenage years in this non-sense all types of s**t. I'm not very conscious about my habits but I'm focusing a lot on my health and my eating habits.

♥︎ SR venus in SR 9th house - I'm having this strong urge to travel (not necessarily abroad) and I'm also taking a lot of interest in learning other country's cultures, traditions, food and stuff. I also want to meet people from different countries, cultures and ethnicities. Oh and my boyfriend is also from different ethnicity so maybe that counts too?

♥︎ SR Jupiter in SR 8th house conjunct my natal mars - I received tons of money (a huge transformation in my finances) as a reward for my hard work. I passed my high school final exam with high marks and my grannies awarded me with money due to this. The state, the region and my school awarded me with money too. Not boasting though haha 😂

♥︎ SR pluto in SR 6th house-This is really serious. I lost 25 pounds in 2 months and I'm currently having or at the risk of having an eating disorder. In my country, most people don't know about ED and when I told my mom, she even laughed at it and just said "then eat more", so I'm not finding a way to cure this at this point. I know this is not the right way because EDs are not just about food, it's more mental-related and also food of course. However, therapists are also considered as clowns in my country mostly and treatments for ED are also really rare, so I'm just trying to keep it by myself. I'm sorry if this is triggering for some people. But it's impacting enormously on my health and my diet and my routines. I know this is soo wrong but I just can't fix this so please don't blame me 🥺. I don't know how this started because at first, I was just trying to reduce my intake of food like normally going on a diet but gradually, I became more and more obsessed about calories counting and my weight. I have body image and self-esteem issues. Plus, I also have my natal pluto in 6th house so maybe it's really doubling up. I'm neither blaming on astrology nor giving a reason for my ED but sorry. Alright, enough for this topic.

♥︎ SR Leo rising - I am feeling more confident than ever (maybe but not really because I just cried for having a flat ass about 10 minutes ago so..) and people perceive me as a cheerful and bubbly girl during this period so far even my inner mind is not like that right now. I also gained some type of recognition from my peers and my teachers and my relatives because of my academic results. I also kinda want attention from other people lately honestly but it's not like a hunger for it though.

I'm not a bigot. I'm not anti-trans. I don't think trans people are inherently evil. But I do not believe you can change your biological sex. I do not believe allowing trans women into women's sports, changing rooms, sexualities (lesbians being pressured to date trans women), etc. is good for women and girls. It's not just a belief I have, it's factually proven to be dangerous to put TW in women's prisons (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) and in bathrooms (1, 2, 3, 4, 5 [5 is written by a trans woman]).

I'm not saying I hate trans people or that I don't trust them or that teens/children who identify as transgender are "broken" or "wrong" like people have said I do. I think we have manipulated an entire generation of lesbians and homosexual boys (though not all trans-identified people are homosexual/bisexual) into believing they have to be the opposite sex. We've lied to dysphoric teens and told them they're going to die if they don't recieve gender-affirming care (see all the posts on the protecttranskids, transgenocide, transrights etc. hashtags).

This is also evident in that anytime you question someone who says trans people are experiencing a genocide, especially a younger person (like a teenager who gets all their information from Instagram and TikTok) they actually can't come up with a single example. Even when they bring up the so-called "anti-trans legislature" being passed in the United States, they can't name any specific bans, because that actually does not exist. What I linked for you is HB1276, which, if you read it, allows minors who underwent sexual reassignment surgery to sue their doctors up to 30 years after they turn 18 for malpractice if they regret surgery. Trans Legislation Tracker labels this an "anti-trans" bill.

They have reason to regret it, too. Lupron, the drug administered in FtM transition to dysphoric females, has painful and sometimes deadly side effects that gender-affirming medical clinics will not disclose with you in full. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

Also, a disproportionate amount of FtM females are autistic, homosexual, and depressed. I care especially about these women because I'm eighteen, autistic, and a lesbian, so I really resonate with their pain and struggle. I'm not disgusted by transgender individuals and I'm not angry with them. I feel terrible for them. And I want to help.

What I think we have in the world now is an extreme lack of education. It's harming girls and women my age, when there are more affordable and better options. We've known for a long time doctors will push medicines that don't work/shouldn't be as expensive as they are in order to make money (I'm talking about things like selling insulin for $500 a vial. I'm not talking about things like vaccines.).

If you want to change your name and use other pronouns, cool, fine, whatever. I don't care what you do with your life, your money, and your time. But don't call yourself male or female when you're not. See my pinned post for why doing so harms women and men.

Transgenderism is motivated by misogyny. Go to any of the subreddits created for TW (r/Egg_irl, r/MtF, r/transgender [though that one contains trans men also]) and you'll see in every "How I knew I was trans" post that these people consider being female synonymous with being feminine, and it isn't. I'm not feminine. Does that make me a man? No. It just makes me a nonfeminine woman.

I'm not denying the existence of gender dysphoria. Many of my mutuals are desisted females who still struggle with it. But hormone therapy/SRS (sexual reassignment surgery) are very clearly not the answer. I hope this helps you understand my position better. I also hope I've not come across as condescending or patronizing in any way.

Turbo's favourite movie is Herbie: Fully Loaded

He has ALWAYS been flamboyant/effeminate like you see King Candy being. I hate seeing people portray Turbo as this perpetually grumpy/angry bitter person all the time all because of the revelation scene being the one 'real scene' we have of Turbo in his original form. The reason why Ralph wouldn't recognize the similar behaviour pattern is because he didn't know Turbo well enough since he rarely ever left his own game unless it was to go to Tapper's to have a root beer and brag about winning to anyone who'd listen (mainly Felix). Need a 'draw/write Turbo being silly and goofy like King Candy is' solidarity.

Contrary to popular belief, he does like the color pink- he just has a very specific preference for that particular salmon shade of pink.

Turbo and the twins all had racecar beds to sleep in back in TurboTime.

Candybug's desire to take over the entire arcade at the end of the movie is his new cy-bug coding speaking; all Turbo has ever wanted is to race again and be in the spotlight. He would struggle to control his bug instincts not just in terms of resisting beacons of light but also in terms of acting upon intrusive thoughts in general. Mix that with anger and hopelessness that he'll likely never be able to drive again in this new form and you've got the perfect recipe for disaster, because what more does he have to lose?

Do not misunderstand: I too dislike the trope of 'he's just misunderstood' since that is far from the truth, but that doesn't mean he can't have moments where you feel empathy for him (at least in my case): you are programmed to be the protagonist of your world, the best, that is your sole purpose in the life you have. You become addicted to the attention you recieve- foolishly not thinking once that it's possible that may not be the same thing tomorrow. Once that is suddenly taken away, you don't understand why- you're the best. And because you are the best, instead of processing your losses normally, you won't let go. You're instead determined to take back what was rightfully yours. By any means possible. Making the biggest mistake of your life- you kill not just your neighbors but your own home out of impulse. You are to blame for the choice you took- guilt becomes rage, rage becomes bitterness, bitterness becomes calculative; why cry over spilled milk? The damage is done, and your code is desperately crying out to do what you were made to do: race. All you can do is start anew... don't dwell on the past if you want to have the spotlight again, processing your mistake doesn't matter anyway; and so, once a new racing game is in town- you'd be frothing at the mouth to hop in after decades of isolation, wouldn't you? You'd do anything, if you were that desperate and awfully selfish.

This leads us to the following: Turbo had a mental breakdown during his years of isolation, mainly because he was unable to race; this is why he laughs and giggles no matter the mood he's in as King Candy. It's a form of tic.

This might be a bit OOC? But whatever. Hilariously enough King Candy is a somewhat decent(take that with a grain of salt, I'll elaborate in a moment) fatherly figure: he treats the SR racers like they're his adopted kids. I say somewhat decent because of course he completely excludes Vanellope and because he picks favourites; Taffyta, Rancis and Candlehead are his golden children and because of that, he's sometimes willing to swallow his pride and let them cross the finish line before him.

Taffyta is VERY competitive and sometimes will get unreasonably aggressive to win and that's something KC admires in her because it reminds him so much of himself and the bond he used to have with the Twins, especially when competing. Another reason why Taffyta bullies Vanellope is because she knows King Candy dislikes her wish to compete and she feels like this is something that would please him regardless of his approval of it.

Again maybe kind of OOC-ish but I sincerely don't think Turbo outright hates Vanellope herself like. As a person; she has done nothing, but she does pose a threat to blowing his cover and he is not going to allow her. The one thing that bothers him a lot about her is her stubborness to race and always finding a way to weasel into the Random Roster Race. During the tunnel scene where he straight up becomes violent towards her, you can tell she's never seen him this angry to her before; this leads me to believe he never blew up on her before because, regardless of how much of a threat she posed for him; in his mind- he figured she likely would never really be in a situation where she would actually cross the finish line, and she's just a child, so why bother? Of course. That is until she sprints right past him on the race track and the rest is history. (And I have to clarify again I AM NOT justifying his actions; there is no 'justifying' any of it. This is an observation because of the reactions/expressions/etc. seen in the scene.)

Writing that previous hc reminded me of this and I just had to include it because I can SO see this happening 😭 it's hilarious and wholesome in a way.

I saw something about this on @king-crawler 's blog and I feel like I should bring this up bc it rubbed me the wrong way: I donno about you but to me, Turbo programming himself as King of Sugar Rush is not ego thing (not the main reason behind it at least!); it's to avoid suspicion in general within the game because ALL of the SR racers are children. It would be suspicious and really fuckin' weird to have a character programmed as an adult that isn't an NPC/side-character like Sour Bill or the donut cops to just be among them like nothing, regardless if he wipes their memories they (or other candy subjects) will question it. He's not stupid, in the game there's supposed to be a royal figure, no? So, it'd make perfect sense for that figure to be a supposedly 'wise' King that looks after all his subjects and makes sure rules aren't broken. So to me it's less of something done out of selfishness and more of just being able to go by unnoticed, he programmed himself as King to fit in with the whole 'monarchy' concept within SR. At the end of the movie when Vanellope says she doesn't want to be a princess, you get a little glimpse of how much the candy subjects depend and rely on a 'higher figure' to function.

As King Candy, he believes himself to be cute. (adding this side note just in case bc I shit you not this is genuinely something people have argued and mocked me over: don't come at me for this. I have my opinion, you have yours and I'm not going to change it for you; as a fan for a whole decade who has known in tge past other fans, there ARE people that find him cute as I do /gen /lh) He shamelessly indulges in that and he WILL use that as a manipulation tactic to get what he wants- sometimes playing with your emotions as well by tugging at your heart strings and overall painting himself to be a 'frail silly old man' in sn exaggerated manner so you'll give in to whatever he wants- and once you agree suddenly the 'frail' old monarch has an outburst of energy and joy, completely shedding off this fragile-pitiful facade.

Turbo has somehow rescued the Turbo Twins before his game was unplugged and I have evidence to prove this:

He has their codes tucked into his own (bad example I know but kind of like how an opossum mom keeps her joeys in her pouch); he keeps them in a dormant state this way by not allowing them to have separate code boxes of their own. The reasons behind this are simple: he doesn't want two characters that very obviously don't belong in the game to roam around freely, he has enough trouble with Vanellope as it is; and he knows that if he lets them awaken and respawn, they will criticize him for the path he chose to go down- and he doesn't want to deal with that because, for him, it would be pointless and it'd only bring frustration he doesn't need. He would rather keep them as ghosts of the past hidden in his pocket.

Speaking of Vanellope: Turbo is awfully envious of her driving skills, she's the first racer that has bested him on the track. Another selfish reason why he doesn't want her to race- goodness forbid a child beating you at what you're passionate about and arriving in second place.

When overly emotional- be it positive or negative feelings- King Candy would sometimes temporarily glitch back to his original form as Turbo because his code is old, filled to the brim with stuff, it's bound to have a few crack and tears here and there, like an old but still functioning car with a rusty engine; this issue has only accentuated after the glitching-exchange during the tunnel scene.

Speaking of which- because there were little to no censorships in 70's videogames, Turbo bleeds. It's pixelated blood because it cannot be processed through the programming of Sugar Rush since the game was not made to have any graphic themes in it. If one of the racers gets hurt- they quite literally just bleed coding.

Turbo often smokes.

Turbo sometimes gets sick of eating nothing but candy and will send out Sour Bill to get him something salty to eat from another game. He has his own little stack of junk food and other non-sweets within the castle.

He's not just the King of Candy, he's THE LORD OF THE DANCE! (watch at your own risk I warn you /hj)

CURSED JOKES ASIDE I unironically like to think he is a good dancer. Nobody beats him at tap-dancing and The Bus Stop. (He's from the 70's so it'd make sense he's familiar with a lot of funky/disco dance moves)

Lol I love the idea of two people liking each other but both being completaly oblivious to the fact other person likes them and everyone around them see it and are getting annoyed/irritated by the fact those two aren't together yet! Morgan shook his head at the absurd notion alone and walked away—ignoring you when you decided to follow him.

Morgan doesn't like when things don't go according to plan and he had a plan on finding the perfect soulmate based on very specific criteria.

And there you came, making a mess of his plans..

It started becoming a sort of competition of who would break first.

He would think you're doing it on purpose and get annoyed at the sight of you—or avoid you.

Unbeknownst to the both of you that if you were to dig deeper you would find the true reason behind your playful banter..

His brothers watching the both of you from the sidelines :

Peter : "Don't you dare !"

You met Kevin in art school and lucky for you, he always arrives late to everything. And, you kept unconsciously saving a seat for him next to you..

He usually passes through multiple stages : happiness overload, intense paranoïa, brief episode of depression, stalking and finally, unhealthy obsession..

The Hannibal Family all know how intense it can be for Peter when he has a crush, it is the very reason they don't like it when he has one.

Kevin *opens the door ajar* : "Erm..You're alright baby bro ?"

Peter *doesn't answer and keeps staring at the wall*

Kevin *closes the door* : "...Okay. Good to know."

Morgan *waiting outside* : "So ?"

Kevin : "...Yup. It's definitely a crush. Better warn Hannibal Sr."

Freddy didn't know you had a crush of him and he refused to acknowledge his, no matter what the other slashers or anyone else had to say..

Even Michael tried to knock some sense in the stubborn slasher, but Freddy didn't want to se it.

Freddy : "Me ? Y/N ? Nah. You got it all wrong, buddy.."

Michael *stays silent before grabbing his notebook and writing down* : "So..Does that mean I can try to ask her out ?"

Freddy *immediately punches him and hurts his wrist in the process* : "LIKE HELL YOU CAN ! BACK OFF ! THAT B*TCH IS MINE !"

Michael *chuckles*

Freddy *realizes* : "...Sh*t."

Freddy proceeded to avoid you for days after that, as he thought you didn't feel the same and whenever you would try to approach him, he would find a reason to leave or some other thing to take care of.

You : "Freddy ! We need to talk !"

Freddy : "Can't. I've got a doctor's appointment."

Y/N : "...YOU CAN'T GET SICK !"

Freddy *runs away*

It would take time for Freddy to accept his feelings and do the first step.

He is usually the confident one of the group, but when it comes to feelings ?

Norman was the last one to notice his crush on you—even his mother persona caught your mutual attraction from the start and made sure you understand your place in that relationship..

Mother Bates : "I've got my eye on you, missy/mister. Don't think for a moment that I don't know what you are doing.."

She then left and you were surprised by her words, but didn't let them faze you. You had already faced her many times before and weren't afraid of her—even though she did creep you sometimes.

But, her warning did linger in your mind, a well as the very threatening tone she had used.

What could have made her feel so threatened that she would go as far as tell you to stay away ?

It did raise certain questions and when you finally had the opportunity to ask her, she seemed dumbfounded.

Mother Bates *leans forward to stare intently at you and finally smiles* : "You really are clueless, aren't you ?"

Mother Bates wouldn't dignify you with an answer, but she would find it amusing all the same.

She was used to Norman ignoring his own feelings, but would internally be very pleased of the fact that you don't know them yourself...until she wouldn't find it amusing any longer.

Mother Bates : "FOR GOODNESS SAKE ! CAN'T YOU SEE WHAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU ?!"

You : "...A very angry mother ?"

Mother Bates : "..Kids I swear...NORMAN IS IN LOVE WITH YOU !"

You : "..."

Her : "..."

You and Norman : "...WHAT ?!"

Pennywise would try to be oblivious at first—pretending your racing heart was fear or excitement. He would refuse seeing the truth and dismiss everything or everyone that would try to convince him.

Even if you were to tell him yourself, he would laugh it off or pretend not feeling anything for you.

Pennywise : "Sorry. Not happening."

Pennywise would be cash with you from the beginning. He would be able to tell that you like him, but would try to convince you otherwise.

He wouldn't want to hurt you by letting you believe he can feel the same.

Pennywise and Penny were told from the moment they became monsters that they wouldn't be able to fall in love. Ever.

He wouldn't acknowledge his feelings for you, because it would mean to go against everything he believes to be true.

Pennywise *sighs* : "...I really wish I could tell you that I can reciprocate your feelings but.." *retrieves his own heart and crumbles it to sand in his hand* "...I can't. I'm sorry."

It would take some time for him to acknowledge his own feelings for you and he would probably avoid you at the start—but would eventually come around.

Pennywise *scratches his throat nervously* : "I'm..sorry. I made a mistake. I..I like you too. I think."

Pennywise was never in love before, he never even had a crush..So, it might take time for him to get used to it—but the result would be worth the wait.

Penny feeds on fear and pain. It would confuse him to be affected by this irresistible pull some humans suffer from.

He would try to process it and put a name on it.

When he would finally be able to tell, he would end up even more confused..How could it be that you would both feel this need to be together ? How could love blossom between a human and a...a monster ?

He would remain the same around you at first—smiling and joking and laughing..

But inside, he would feel this pull tear his heart open and ask for Pennywise to help.

Pennywise : "...Tell them."

Penny *surprised* : "What ?! NO !"

Pennywise *sighs* : "Look, kid. We all know how you feel. It's obvious you like each other, so you just need to tell them."

Penny reluctantly agreed and after a long moment of consideration, he decided to tell you.

Penny : "...You feel warm. Safe. It's...It's not right."

You seemed to realize he was truly struggling with what he was feeling and decided to help him by declaring your feelings for him too.

When you did, his face lit up and all of his worries seemed to pop out of existence. He was just so happy you felt the same.

Nearby :

Pennywise felt a pang in his chest at the thought that he would probably never feel the same towards anyone, but still smiled proudly at his brother from the shadows.

"Heh. Good job, kid."

Brahms was acting really nervous around you, jolting every time he would see you and you couldn't help but tease him about it.

You *laugh* : "What ? Do I perhaps make you nervous, Brahms ?"

He would blush furiously and shake his head vividly before either running away or standing there with his face lowered in shame.

You would always laugh it off and it would only make Brahms more and more confused.

You *smile mischievously* : "Does your little heart beat faster whenever I'm around ?"

Another teasing. But, this time. He had an answer to give you.

Brahms : "What if it is ?"

When he looked up at you, you found hesitation and determination there.

Brahms : "What if I really like you ?"

Your smile immediately vanished once you realized he was being serious.

Brahms grunted in frustration before grabbing your hand and pressing it against his chest.

Brahms : "Here."

You could feel his heart beating wildly in his ribcage and for the first time, you didn't know what to say.

You glanced up at Brahms with widened eyes and lips slightly parted in shock before they returned to the fingers spread on his chest—above his heart.

You didn't think..It was your time to blush and when Brahms released your hand, you let it linger there for a few seconds before retrieving it.

You looked up at Brahms who didn't say a word and you smiled.

"I'm...glad."

Brahms smiled as well and nuzzled your face with his masked nose before the slashers all came in.

There was a long silence before Freddy finally shouted:

"F*CKING FINALLY ! WE THOUGHT YOU GUYS WOULD DIE VIRGINS !"

do you have any tips on communicating with alters? i get the vibe im really not alone in the brain area (there are. copious ammounts of other reasons but.) i'm not sure if i just got some srs dpdr or am like actually a system

this sounds like less of a "communicating with alters" problem and more of a "DID vs. other disorders" problem, or a "how to tell what is and isn't an alter" problem. if you're not sure whether or not you have alters, communicating with them or attempting to do so isn't going to help you figure out if you have alters or not, you're just going to get more confused. trust me, i've been down this exact same path before and it made things worse and more confusing. don't jump into trying to communicate with alters first before even knowing whether or not you have them.

also, obligatory warning that more people should be giving out: if you're still living in an abusive/traumatic environment, i personally really do not recommend self diagnosing with DID. from my personal experience and the personal experience of friends, this makes things worse, especially if you're under 18 or otherwise cannot legally leave. worry about surviving and getting out, THEN worry about the magnitude of trauma that you experienced and try to start getting it processed. trying to process trauma and deal with trauma and dissociation symptoms while still being traumatized actively is an awful experience.

if the second paragraph doesn't apply to you, ignore it. it's not for you.

this post from felis puts a lot of it into some pretty easy to understand language, the difference between cPTSD parts and fully autonomous dissociated parts, as seen in DID or OSDD-1.

another thing to note--i can't remember if this is mentioned in the linked post or not--but parts aren't always necessarily going to feel like entirely different people controlling your body. the vast majority of people who have autonomous dissociated parts have parts that are not the most distinct and may be separated out by feeling (i.e. "i feel like a serious woman with long hair") rather than suddenly knowing you have a specific name, age, gender, etc.

what you should do when trying to figure out if you actually have parts, is pattern tracking. journal a lot. if you can, try to think about how you feel throughout the day, (i.e. "do i feel like the serious woman with long hair or do i feel like the sad little boy or do i feel like the happy man with a baseball cap?"), to better track these patterns and see if they are brought up at specific times of day.

for example, i become tal when i'm at work. she is a teenage girl with dark hair, and she's very cheerful, and is pretty happy being masculine, even though she doesn't necessarily present that way when we draw her.

while i'm at home, i become zero, who is more serious and deadpanned and irritable, who is very obviously a male figure.

i can always tell the difference between these two specifically because of how starkly different we feel to each other. when i start feeling like a bubbly teenage girl, that's a pretty easy way for me to tell when i've switched. i can generally tell when i'm going to switch to tal because she comes forward in IRL social situations, and at work. i've used pattern tracking over the course of months to figure these patterns out.

that's only two parts out of my documented 30-something, and it took months to fully figure that out. you're probably going to have a similar amount of time figuring out your own shit. don't rush it. the best time to start is now, so be patient.

so basically, track how you feel identity-wise in differing situations, and track how connected or disconnected you feel to these differing identity feelings over time.

when you get home from work/school, does the person at work/school feel like you? do you feel confused by your actions at work/school? anxious about these actions? disgusted? do you feel like these actions you did at work/school are something that you would do now that you're not at work/school? these are some questions you can ask yourself.

remember, this only works if you're honest with yourself, and it is not a quick process.

While this is, yay! character development!, i'm ever so miiiildly disappointed bc I thought Garu/Karu had perfect potential to be a switch. Karu would probably suck as a top, but Dante also sucked at sex in the beginning & he's gone through character development now. (Btw, I'd just like to say that Karu is a different kind of tsundere than Edmond is. Karu has explicitly stated he wants to top multiple times. Edmond is just wishywashy and uncertain about le horny.) However, in BS, there's also a vague conversation that Karu & Garu have- I'm not sure if the translation is just skirting around the specifics, but Garu assumes Karu doesn't like some of the "other things" about being a model and says "Don't you hate those things?" Those things either mean humans in general, specifically interacting with humans, or being sexy (or all 3). So while Karu wishes he could top, is starting to accept that he also likes being fucked, he is not as ridiculously horny as Garu is. Going as far as to say Karu might be somewhere on the ace spectrum is a bit far, but I can see someone making the case for it. (Asexual/ace spectrum people can still have sex for a variety of reasons).

C) Garu & Karu's Fashion

Of our yokai love insterests- kuya cares about his appearance, yakumo doesn't have strong preferences but seems to value modesty so he knows what he's comfortable with, (if quincy counts as yokai, he probably DGAF). and then we have garu/karu.

we don't know how they picked/got their SR/R/N clothing, but we can assume its something garu & his gramps slapped together in the Dead Zone (and for some reason Garu still wears it even after moving into Aster's mansion lol). (Btw Karu did prank people by stripping them, so i wonder if what's they're wearing could've also been stolen?) As for all his other SSR outfits- all of them are given by someone else and the Howling Cyclone "outfit" was some bandages, a coat, & a pumpkin hat that yakumo/eiden/garu found on the ground.

therefore i am very very curious that, if given the choice, what would garu & karu pick for themselves? cause i feel like they would have different fashion preferences.

and then i realized- growing up mostly isolated in the harsh Dead Zone- garu/karu's never had the time to even think about fashion, so neither of them probably care nor have any shame. what we can deduce though, is that they both have praise kinks and if someone compliments them in some way, then they definitely like it, regardless of what the outfit actually is. so i'm gonna try to figure out what their fashion preferences might be once they get more comfortable with clothing.

honestly, i think garu likes revealing clothing now. the only thing we know him to have picked out, the very revealing placements of the Howling Cyclone bandages and posssibly the jockstrap in Binary Star. (In room 4, Garu says that he & Karu(!) prepared "an ultimate skill for Master" and then the camera zooms in on his crotch. Like if thats not saying Garu picked his jockstrap, idk what it means.) I also think this was learned, because in Master's Gift, Garu was still kind of clueless on how sexy he looked and now he actively seeks out sexy garments. back to HC- garu strips everything to wear just the bandages & coat. He doesn't keep his underwear or look for pants or a shirt, which means he either wasn't socially aware, had no shame, or liked how revealing it was. Also, the jockstrap was a secret present for Eiden not for the public.

Karu is a bit harder since he seems to just go along with whatever (including whatever garu wants). and even in BS when karu is finally getting some spotlight on his preferences, he only cares about food & conquering/enchanting people. anyone got ideas?

D) Who knows that Karu exists?

I'm going through the Binary Starlight Garu rooms and i realized that Karu is interacting with random townspeople and no one seems to have any issue or confusion about that.

And then I realized, that after Garu meets everyone except Dante (and Rei) in ch8, he goes to Aster's mansion and has very little screen time until ch 13, and we don't really know who Garu is hanging out with besides Aster's maids and clan members. (We don't know when the side events are taking place in the timeline).

Nonhuman/yokai/wolf reactions to Karu's existence can possibly be excused, since they're probably used to unusual circumstances. i'm gonna excuse the clan members & aster's maids cause they have daily exposure to Garu&Karu. i'll assume that the clan members & aster caught up dante with who garu was off screen and, well, now we know Rei/Karu/Garu might have some HistoryTM.

but what about random townspeople? although garu can be hyper & extroverted, he usually introduces himself as just "Hi! I'm Garu!", not Hi! I'm Garu and sometimes I switch into Karu." In summer fest, garu/karu's just there as support so he's not really making himself known to a lot of people. And in Eerie escapade, i highly doubt he was having interpersonal conversations while battling monsters in the pampo village that they teleported to. But in the BS intimacy rooms, the modeling people/store owners are having actual conversations knowing Karu's name. In fact, at the end, it seems like Karu is doing most of the modeling but when its an aspect of modeling that Karu doesn't like, Garu takes over. Does this mean that garu is pretending to be Karu, or that everyone knows its the two of them? This will be interesting…. Bonus, for those who believe that Karu's eyes are actually blue and the yellow is only for the player, i think the store owners/fans/townspeople would point out if karu's eyes suddenly changed to blue!

E) Garu&Karu's sexualities

Ok so its hard to tell since klein (and saia!) doesn't have the same concept of sexuality that earth does.

that said, the yokai also have the bonus of not being human and them being based off some animal characteristics, of which foxes, snakes, & wolves also all display homosexual behaviors. so this will be interesting! i am not a scientist, this is just based off le googles.

Foxes- a lot of these species have sex and pair with male & female foxes.

Snakes- also a lot of homosexual partners/pairings and in fact some species can reproduce asexually

Wolves- alpha male wolves have 1 alpha female mate for life but may mate with other males if they're in heat, otherwise they live in a pack

So what about Garu & Karu? Consistently, Garu has said he only wants Eiden to fuck him. So we can assume that sexually, Garu is uh master-sexual, regardless of what gender that master is. However, because he is still a wolf yokai, I do believe that he views the clan members as his pack to still share both platonic and intimate experiences. So Garu would have no problems with Eiden telling him to seduce Edmond or something. In summary- Garu is unknown leaning towards whoever he considers his alpha wolf and thinks in pack mentality, aka poly. Also, he's 100% a sub.

Karu is, once again, more complicated. He said he doesn't only belong to Eiden and calls Kuya, Kuya-sama (translated to Master Kuya) sometimes. (In master's gift, he called Kuya "wily fox" lol. I think nowadays, Kuya and Yakumo are the only one he calls by their actual names, not something like "the knight" or "human" or "the priest" or "the vampire"). Karu also has the added issue where he is poorly socialized & traumatized as HECK and trauma sure messes up your perception of relationships. In my earlier mini-meta analyzing Garu/Karu's H scenes, I said someone could argue that Karu is aromantic or demiromantic or grey-ace.

Luckily, as an aromantic sexual person with trauma, i have some experience in this realm! Unfortunately, I'm not a writer and Karu isn't a real person- so a) I don't know the intentions so we don't know if his experiences are shaped by trauma or his actual sexuality and b) since he's not real, he can be open to interpretation! But let's assume Karu's base sexuality when not shaped by trauma. His horniness level is nowhere near Garu's overwhelming horniness, and while he's not shy to sex, he needs multiple experiences before gradually warming up to the idea of sex. Garu is also clearly attracted to Eiden as a person, whereas Karu is still in denial but also unwilling to commit himself to Eiden (but does want to hang on to Eiden- see the whole human slave thing). Garu seems knowledgeable in sexiness, but Karu just seems clueless about it. He also does not seem to know about human romantic attraction general. In summary.... I don't have a good conclusion for Karu at all. But someone can use these arguments to prove that Karu might be demisexual/demiromantic or on the aro/ace spectrum.

F) Garu's throat scar

(Quick note: Did Olivine say that essence can heal scars?)

So I noticed that even though Garu casually displays his other scars, he consistently covers up his throat scar in event + SR outfits. (We can only see it in Forgotten Fruit H scenes). Although Misty Vale implies that the scars could be from the Council experimentation, the other scars also make sense for Dead Zone injuries considering Garu has no armor or skin protection. He also doesn't seem concerned about covering them or healing them (if they can be healed? Someone correct me about the above statement), but his throat scar is consistently covered.

If the events seem to take place after the main gemstone storyline. The fact that none of his (old) scars are healed means:

-Garu probably didn't learn how to heal scars in the dead zone and got used to them & his Gramps was more survivalist- he either thought Garu would have a better chance surviving when looking tough & scarred up or just didn't care about appearances. And even if he learned now/after the Main Plot, in Misty Vale, Garu doesn't care seem to care about covering up all his body scars.

-Except Garu (or at least all his clothing givers lol) does want to cover up his throat scar though. Heck, garu even covered up his neck by himself when wrapping himself with bandages. If he wanted to hide it consistently, I'm sure Olivine has ways to heal it. However, this means that scar cannot be healed, so they cover it up instead.

Yeah that's all I got with this.

WARNING: This section talks about trauma. I am NOT a licensed psychiatrist or have personal experience with DID. This is only based off internet research, which may or may not be reliable.

X) Garu/Karu & Rei's Trauma

There's a lot of traumatized characters in nu carnival, but i think these 2 take the cake for the amount of physical violence and/or abuse done against them whilst lacking in power*. By that, i mean while the rest of the cast all have their traumas, they have had moments of empowerment in the past, currently have moments of empowerment, they had some empowerment during whatever caused their trauma (or were forced to cause other people's traumas therefore messing them up significantly too), or are literally in positions of power with ways to control their life circumstances on their own terms. For example, Blade, Kuya, Dante, Yakumo, and Aster had awful things happen to them or were horribly manipulated by others, but Blade, Kuya, and Dante are powerful fighters that have control over their autonomy present-day, meanwhile Yakumo & Aster are in a much healthier relationship with Eiden and have confidence in their new support network. (Blade and Kuya in particular also caused a LOT other people a lot of harm so that gets a bit complicated).

Rei & garu on the other hand, have had their bodies horrendously violated, are still actively dealing with it and, in my opinion, lack significant empowerment to control their autonomy. also, none of their traumas have actually been dealt with yet, heck we barely know exactly what happened.

and their trauma responses & coping mechanisms are completely different. garu does everything he can to protect himself (DID, amnesia, garu tries to be optimistic, karu is focused on self preservation). rei does everything he can to aggravate it (unhealthy coping mechanisms, everything is transactional & extremely goal oriented, kind of apathetic, and self destructive).

In rusted nation, rei definitely remembers what's happened to him, but it looks like he sugarcoated it amidst bickering with kuya, while Eiden & blade "escaped" so eiden didn't hear it. kuya is (overly) great at keeping secrets, so eiden will probably never find out from kuya what happened to rei. for rei's trauma, its kinda obvious that, that is what's going to be his character development.

as for garu, its harder to tell. i really want to know what'll happen when they get his memory back. based off misty vale & his EG rooms, Garu doesn't seem to be actively trying to recover his memories (heck his only reactions in ch 13 are fainting or switching to Karu). that said, i'd like to *think* that garu will accept his memories based off his optimistic response in EG. buuut i think his world might also fall apart. Karu seems to remember that humans "took advantage" of him somehow and he's on friendly terms with Rei, so it's possible Rei rescued/escaped with Karu. would Garu get mad at karu for not telling him or not protecting him enough? would Karu get mad at garu for being forced to front during all the experiments? if it turns out Rei was an active part of experimenting on Karu/Garu, Karu seems to understand him, but would Garu get pissed at them or scared of them?

also, i just wanna touch on something even darker. one of my theories a long time ago was that garu might've also been r*ped bc karu has SUCh a hangup about bottoming and being taken advantage of. In fact, Eiden calls Karu out on it during EB rooms, but Karu ignores the question. Anyways i thought, oh NU Carnival is such a cheerful game that it'll never go there. And then BOOM its confirmed in Rusted Nation that the devs are willing to go there. there's also the sex automaton in blade's memories. during that conversation, the researcher says Blade's design "does not have the functions for sex", which means he either didn't have a penis or it didn't function that way it does present-day. but because Blade can have sex now with a very human-like penis & cum, that makes me wonder if Blade was eventually upgraded (especially considering the noble that funded the research) and then tested out as a sexbot with the intentions of using sex to bait for assassinations.

regulus becoming a death eater at sixteen is something that i have a hard time wrapping my mind around, mostly because i can't imagine him doing a lot between joining and dying

the only other case that we know for sure of this happening is draco malfoy, but under very different circumstances. draco was marked after nine death eaters, including his father, were arrested, and tasked with the seemingly impossible task of killing dumbledore. the main purpose of this was to torment his family and, later on, ensure his collaboration

i think something similar to this secondary goal might be involved in recruiting soldiers so young

at sixteen, your brain is not fully formed and it's hard to see nuance, hard to structure arguments, you don't know enough of the world and it's easier to get attached into worldviews or political parties or philosophies or cults

i think that, to voldemort, ensuring the collaboration of these boys when they were at their most eager would guarantee their loyalty later on

because, realistically, there's not much he could have done with teenagers inside hogwarts. spy on dumbledore? he would know. have them sneaking out at night to hogsmead and side apparating to go kill some muggles and then be like oh sorry gotta comeback i have charms in the morning

so young death eaters — in 'padfoot returns' sirius lists some names he knew who were friends in hogwarts and later were arrested or killed — would have little use in the killing and torturing, but they still could be potential recruiters, feeding discourse into their colleagues, radicalizing other children, creating the illusion for other people that they are already winning and there's no point in fighting against it

so for the specific case of regulus, i can see him growing up with parents who believe in pureblood supremacy, his brother gets chastised for acting out and he doesn't want to be like sirius, does he? everybody in slytherin is talking about the dark lord and his oldest cousin who is so smart says he is the greatest wizard to ever exist — and he falls into the trap

he's obsessed, he's only sixteen, he's got his parents approval for his politics (what does a sixteen years old knows of politics?), sirius left and he feels lonely, he fills up a wall with paper cuts of everything that's it's being talked about the dark lord, because the dark lord is all people talk about these days

finally, he's attractive to voldemort because of his name. he must be reasonably smart. and bellatrix recommends him. that's it

i can lay it all in a way that makes sense to me, not only from what we know of regulus, but also from what voldemort might do as a military leader. ultimately, i believe sirius was right in assuming regulus was unimportant to voldemort, that's something i've always assumed from 'kreacher's tale,' volunteering a house elf was his first chance of being properly useful and that was why he was so eager to do it

(he died in '79, either still on school or in the first semester after graduating, not older than eighteen)

note 1: barty crouch jr was described as a teenager at the time of trial, later in 1981, meaning he was also recruited very young. he would have been attractive to voldemort for the possibility of spying on crouch sr, and he was one of the most fanatical followers

note 2: it's safe to assume regulus became a death eater not long after sirius ran away and while i think the aftermath played a role in his mental state leading up to that point, putting the blame on sirius doesn't make any sense because there were many other factors, sirius was right in leaving a place where felt unsafe and he had no responsibility to calculate all of the possible repercussions of his actions in influencing his already blood supremacist brother of joining a cult

I tried my own hand a while back at writing “the dsmp but taken seriously”; gave it a name and a playlist but didn’t really write much before I went back to my other projects. funnily enough, I’ve had a drafted outline for this heccin thing running around in my head since the Butcher Army arc. Right around when SAD-ist dropped her animatic, I simultaneously realized ‘oh wow, I Adore this concept’ and ‘oh wow, I Highly doubt the CCs are gonna manage to do this the way I’d want to see it’ and lo and behold: I was correct. So painfully correct. (There were also People Involved whom I had Really Bad Feelings About from very early on that, sure enough, turned out to be exactly what i thought they were, rip) So the Emduo prequels, Icarus heccin Dying, and the end of Axe of Peace have been around for Ages.

I’d honestly love to do more with this concept, (i am designing movie posters as we speak) but due to Chronic Illness Pog I’m in a rather unstable financial situation? And don’t have a ton of free time for art. Any big projects are gonna take a While, or id need to find a way to use it or something adjacent to fund, y’know, Rent. That being said, I’m definitely writing the emduo prequels, both as movie scripts and as novels, as those are the films focused on, yknow, My Bois. I also think it’d be hilarious to release the novels and then the scripts and watch people Loose Their Minds over the ‘inaccurate adaptation >>:(‘

I’d absolutely love to work with other people in the fandom on this stuff, though I’ve never been the best at directly co-writing (my writing method and style is painfully specific (ie needlessly poetic) and I’m very autistic: I don’t like it when people touch that Specific Thing) but literally anything else? and finally, I adore your name for the series, (excellent word choice there /srs, it fits perfectly with the symbolism of the whole story) and I think it works really Really well for the actual DSMP, but if I’m entirely honest… I’m not sure it fits the TCU? Like genuinely I’m so grateful for the suggestion, I love when people offer ideas and bounce things around like that. But one of the main things I tried to do with this concept was work out how the story could actually end Well. A deep-seated belief in the good-but-fallen nature of man, the importance of hope, and the inevitability of redemption kinda comes part and parcel with the whole Being-A-Christian Thing (if it doesn’t, you’re missing the Whole Point Of The Bible) and while the actual DSMP may have ended in broken dreams… this doesn’t. That was my first thought when writing that outline: This Is Going To End Well. Not for wish-fulfillment reasons, not because I’m naive or I don’t like bad endings, but because fundamentally, everything sad is a lie, and if the story has ended in tragedy, it hasn’t ended yet.

If I had to pick a series name now, I’m not sure what I’d pick. A part of me balks at referencing anything popularized by Our Local Redacted, but ‘unfinished symphony’ wasn’t his in the first place, it was from Hamilton. “The Finished Symphony” has a cool ring to it? I dunno. If anyone else has ideas please feel free to toss them in here aight, I’m not settling on anything for a While.

HI as most of you know last month my genshin account was hacked and it was one of the most stressful situations of my life, essentially because I did not know what to do at first. Recently I've seen people going through that too, so I thought I'd try and help them out. Also added preventive measures in case it happens, because you need a fair amount of information to prove its your account.

This comes from my personal experience and also compiles advice from the subreddit r/GenshinHacked. I'd advise against looking elsewhere because Twitter threads are a confusing mess full of contradictory info, and this subreddit is really well-done. You can directly see other people's experiences and they answer rather quickly when you make a post so!!

Also I'm severely sleep deprived right now so english hard. Obviously reblogs are very much appreciated since it's to help the community but you know. Whatever let's get into it

1. What NOT to do

- DO NOT try to buy it back. This is actually the reason I'm putting this guide together, because I've seen people buy their account back and, seriously, don't. Buying an account is against the ToS and could result in your account being banned, which is way worse than hacked because then you most likely won't get it back. Additionally, it doesn't mean the hacker won't somehow steal it again. There's no security, you'd be depending on the asshole who literally stole your account. Do not. Do that.

- DO NOT buy accounts in general. It doesn't do any good. Like I said it's against the ToS and exposes you to it getting banned or even, in the worst case, sued by Hoyoverse. Most accounts put to sale are also stolen accounts, btw. There's at least half a dozen websites dedicated to selling and buying accounts, and a shit ton of them are stolen. It's not worth it, even if the account has your fave 5* character(s) c6r5.

- DO NOT contact the hacker or, if your account has been bought, the buyer. This will just increase the chance of it getting trashed, weapons and artifacts destroyed etc. Make sure to tell your friends not to contact them either even if they want to, it's extremely important. Even when you get your account back, just block everyone from the friendlist that you don't recognize and, if someone joins your world on behalf of the buyer, block them too. I don't co-op often but I did get like half a dozen of co-op requests after getting my account back.

- DO NOT attempt to hack it back. It could result in a much worse state, e.g your account being banned. Also if you fail, higher chance of getting your account trashed.

- DO NOT assume the worst. This is mostly for your own mental health. There's a good chance your account was bought or at least the hacker's trying to sell it, so deleting weapons and artifacts would be stupid. And even if they do (which sucks), keep in mind that you'd still have your characters. If you end up with no artifacts and are on the EU server, send me an ask or a dm and I'll help you farm them back for as long as it takes! /srs

2. What to do INSTEAD

- Allow yourself to panic. It's a really stressful thing to go through, so it's only natural to be distressed. I cried for hours, man. It's okay, you'll be fine, but for now just let it happen.

- Immediately go to the aforementioned subreddit r/GenshinHacked, specifically the menu tab, and click "Recovery Form Guide". You can also reach it directly using this link: Recovery Form Guide. It tells you how to get the form, and every step of the process. Don't hesitate to make a post asking for help, they're really sweet and understanding. However if anyone contacts you through dms or even comments about some random guy being able to get it back, ignore it. It's a scam.

- Follow each step carefully, and wait. It typically takes 5-10 working days to get a response from hoyoverse, sometimes less and sometimes more. It's hard, but you can't really do anything about it. I'd say distract yourself with something else but that shit did not work for me. Just know you're not the only one going through that and I'm mentally hugging you.

- Don't give up. It can take a few tries to get it back, but as long as you have the necessary informations and can prove it's your account, you'll get it back.

3. Preventive mesures

- Don't give anyone information on your account, unless you trust them. If someone joins your world and offers to buy you a welkin, a battle pass or even just crystals but need your info to buy it, it's a scam. There's an affiliate website to gift crystals to other players - and I think you only need their UID), so they can go through there if they're sincere.

- Only buy crystals directly from Hoyoverse or affiliated websites. Same with your info.

- Install Malwarebytes on your device and let it check it for malwares. If there's anything, even if you haven't been hacked yet, completely reset your device and change your passwords.

- Enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) on your hoyolab account AND your e-mail address. I use the app Authy, so far it's been working great. I can't vouch for any other. For the hoyolab account, you can link your phone number for example.

- Collect the following information on your account:

The date you created your account. You can verify it by logging into Genshin. Menu > Character Archives > Amber. Bottom right you'll see the day you acquired her, which typically corresponds to the date you created the account.

The device you created your account with, with information about it. The form usually says what they need, and the guide from r/GenshinHacked also help. Keep it safe!

The receipt for your first top-up, if you're not f2p. A screenshot of the e-mail will suffice as far as I know (I use Google Pay tho so I'm not sure how it works for other payment options).

Information on the device you play the most with. The form is pretty clear about it.

Additional information you can get now: 5* characters (with the day you obtained them + constellations), 5* weapons (with the date you obtained them + refinements), event weapons, which characters you picked from the Liyue Lantern Rite these past 2 years (NOT absolutely necessary, I didn't add that). You can provide screenshots of getting the characters and weapons with the UID visible, but keep in mind that these can be forged so it's not fool-proof.

I got reasonably lucky: they answered in roughly a week and my form was accepted on the first try, essentially because I provided the information mentioned above. If you can access it, keep it somewhere safe.

Food insecure Stede Bonnet?

Yeah, sure!

I know this sounds like a weird theory; Stede is rich, how could he possibly be food insecure? But an important thing to keep in mind here is technically wasn't rich growing up; he was the child of rich parents. And those can be two very different things.

We know Stede's father was abusive and was very disappointed in Stede, and it's pretty reasonable to assume that he punished Stede frequently. And while we don't have much explicit information as to what the instructors & other authority figures at Stede's boarding school were like, I'd be shocked if they weren't similar. And if one or both of them favored meal deprivation as a form of punishment -- your classic sent to bed without supper kind of thing -- then it's very possible that little Stede could end up food insecure.

But that's just theoretically how it could have happened, on to the actual evidence. It's clear that part of what Stede is doing as a pirate captain, especially in his behavior in the first episode, is trying to re-parent himself through the crew and generally make sure they have all the support and care and all the things he wished he had. And Stede explains that the reason he pays his crew a salary is if the average pirate doesn't steal, he doesn't eat. Stede is very concerned about the mental pressure of food being contingent on performing certain behaviors. Furthermore, based on Olu's line at the end where he says working for Stede means they are going to be paid AND fed implies that Stede is both paying them and providing for all the food on board.

We also have Nigel's taunts about Stede being fat as a young boy, despite that being objectively untrue (and fatphobic, but I hardly think Nigel's concerned about that). If Stede were frequently being forced to skip meals at school, that would likely lead to him eating a lot when he was allowed at meal time, and possibly also lead to food hoarding behavior. Nigel, being a fatphobic bully, wouldn't care about the context of Stede being forced to skip meals could very well have just started calling Stede fat because he "eats a lot." (This also makes Mary passive aggressively implying Stede is a pig hit way worse in way I hope she wasn't doing on purpose.)

A minor point, as I'm not sure how much really is the normal amount of food to keep on the ship in this context, but the fact that when they ran aground multiple members of the crew were immediately jumping to the possibility of cannibalism, does make it seem like Stede packing enough food for weeks is excessive.

But wait there's more! Stede is also very autistic-coded, and autistic people can often be very particular about what kind of food they like or even can mange to eat. I highly doubt Bonnet Sr or Stede's school would be accommodating of any food issues that Stede had, which would have forced him into a situation where he was either once again unable to eat or where he had to choke down what was in front of him to avoid starving (or whatever worse punishment he would get for refusing to eat) (and I mean literally choke down, my issues are pretty mild/manageable and I still have a handful that literally trigger my gag reflex). And none of that would have helped his issues with food any.

Stede mentions having loaded the ship's stores with marmalade. That does speak to the food hoarding I already mentioned, but the fact that he got so much of this specific marmalade suggest it might be a safe food for him. In fact, the 40 orange cake suggests that maybe oranges/orange flavor might just be a safe food for him in general.

And let's talk about the forty orange cake. Because Stede is not only defensive of the idea that he could have wasted food, he's practically aggressive in the way he tries to put the blame on Roach instead. And I think this could reflect a trauma response where Stede is trying to avoid getting into trouble. Between eating a lot of the foods that are safe for him, refusing to eat foods that he is averse to, and food hoarding, there are any number of different ways that child Stede might have gotten in trouble for taking too much/wasting food. Hence his reaction here.

And then finally, despite Stede's seeming preference for fine foods, he also seems perfectly willing to just eat whatever. He eats unseasoned field-dressed snake with no apparent issues whatsoever. But the trick here is if you have just mild issues with food and people who are not willing to accommodate that but will force you to eat the Bad food anyway, you get really good at forcing yourself to eat it without any sign you are dying a little on the inside because oh my god, lima beans make the inside of my mouth feel like its being coated in mushy ashes.

And there you have it, my theory on Stede being food insecure.

It is good for the firm you are working at as workers perform better.

it is good for whoever is getting taught since they get smarter.

And it is good for the one teaching, both for the pleasure but also because you learn a LOT by being forced to explain what you know to someone else. It crystalizes the knowledge and experience you have acquired, and forces you to go through the basics again, but this time with all your knowledge and experience, you often learn deeper, more complex truths, methods and skills from doing so than it is POSSIBLE to do when you learn them while having little clue what they are ( Function pointers and their safer class versions is a classic for OOP programmers ).

There is a structure a firm can use as soon as it starts having separated departments. Departments, while necessary, makes a firm more segregated, and makes it harder for knowledge to flow around.

It is called Guild Structure Or rather... some important context if you google this: "Guild Structure" is the only way I have heard of it, but "Guild Structure" is also a product from a firm called FourWeekMBA... which is a consulting firm that sells services that firms that is... basically helping them implement these ideas... So you can easily risk finding overcomplicated explanations for what it is, since if they made it easy to understand... then they do not have a product...

And it is super simple. Normal development work for engineers and software is done in smaller teams... usually 4-8 people. sometimes all are in a domain (like software, electronics, finance, marketing, etc), and sometimes mixed. Often... either being mixed, or having several teams with different domains meet relatively often, like several times a month is a good idea. Because it stops misunderstandings from developing, since they are caught early. It is a waste when the software department develops functionality that it turns out no one actually wanted (Which happens... a lot more than anyone likes)

Firms, managers and workers are often afraid to do this. Usually for 2 reasons. One bad, and one that Guild structure fixes. The bad one is not wanting to risk looking stupid in front of other people. When software, marketing and finance people talk about what to develop... each domain is asking questions in a domain they are not experts in. That is the symptom and consequences of toxic firm culture. Talk about it in the open, communication is how you slowly work on and attack this, both in firms and personal relationships. Because they are both about making humans work better together.

The other is a fair enough one. Software people will learn a lot of software tricks that are only helpful to other software people. And if software people are spread around in these teams the knowledge cannot flow very well. Basically, while mixing domains fixed a whole bunch of knowledge flowing issues... it created a new one for domain specific knowledge...

This is where you make guilds. Make public guilds. There are clear lists of the guilds, explanations of their domains and several example for each guild for what kind of domain they are covering.

In some firms, a software guild is enough. In others, embedded software, high level software, front end and back end are different guilds. It depends a lot on the firm.

The guilds have communication between all members ( chatrooms usually ) and meetings every month. They will try to encourage knowledge sharing by giving tools, like shared drives where good guides, tutorials and tricks are shared. Sometimes written by guild members, sometimes found online (If you just had the though "Wait... is that not what Codeblr does?" you have just realized that Codeblr is a naturally formed guild), having people who have good ideas they want to spread give presentations during the monthly meeting, rewarding the best idea of the month. People can participate as individuals, or small groups (Tricks are often found by 2-3 people working together).

Meetings can be physical, or remote, or switch between them, doing both.

This basically solves the issue of knowledge sharing. It also empowers workers while making the firm better. Everyone wins!

Wall of ramblings incoming

The whole debacle around Shadow, to me at least, is basically one of the signs of the generational shift in the fandom. Except now instead of people saying that everything after the classic games sucks, its everything after the adventure games that does, because adventure games was the golden time when Sega meant SRS BZNSS and was so DARK and so MATURE, and nowadays its all just babby games for babbys and not true fans. And what better character to use as a glorified example than who's pretty much the face of that era? At least from what I managed to understand among all the headcannons, it's that some people seem to believe that overamping of Shadow's angst will somehow outweigh the "kiddiness" of current Sonic and restore the universal balance or something that will remind the blind sheep how truly good and SERIOUS Sonic used to be. Yes, some are doing it just for angst's sake or because they just discovered what angst is and they learned that it makes them feel things so they want more of it, but with the supposedly serious fans I'm more inclined to think that what I described could be at least partially the reason. Why else would, for example, you have Shadow manipulated by illusions of Maria, have him blindly believe her and have an "emotional" boss fight with her afterwards like in Omens, if not to make people go "oh wow that is so not like the current Sonic games".

To me, it speaks of a lack of imagination. People like to act as though Big Bad Sega is putting him under lock and key with all these fictitious mandates, but really, at this point he's the one with the most carte blanche because there's very little actually tying him down. He's moved on from his past, he can't be manipulated by villains anymore, and he may or may not even be a part of GUN atm considering Eggman decimated them in Forces. Where do you go from there? Anywhere you can think of. You (general you) could take Shadow in literally any direction, do anything with him, have any number of stories and character arcs. You could do a lot with "seeks strong foes" as a motivation, provided you, you know, build a solid story around it. And yet, somehow, the only thing you can think to do is to drag him back to his past, over and over again.

And, well. Definition of insanity, and all that.

Obviously I'm not opposed to the general idea of revisiting his time on the ARK - otherwise I'd be a huge hypocrite in making a VN with that exact setting, lol - but I feel like ST has the best idea out of anyone by showing us Shadow's happy moments rather than any suffering he may have experienced there. The contrast makes the tragedy hit harder.

The insistence on seeing Shadow suffer in just this one specific context feels weird. It makes it seem like the only thing he does of note is suffer, just like how Maria's only apparent contribution is to die.

Folks want muh deep dark Sonics, but then overlook the context behind that suffering. The games don't include dark content without reason. There's usually a parable or message of some kind attached, typically a hopeful one. ---

What gets me is, okay, even if Shadow has to suffer, even if that part is non-negotiable... why does it have to be related to the ARK? What about the ARK raid was so special that something else couldn't make just as big an impact on his character? Maria's death? Yes, it impacted him greatly, but that doesn't mean he can't still suffer. Forces made him suffer when Infinite stuck him in Virtual Reality, but apparently making Omega and Rouge's visages mock him wasn't good enough. Those illusions needed to be Maria or otherwise they wouldn't be seen as legitimate. And that's not even getting into the logistics of how Infinite managed to learn about Maria in the first place. Not to mention, "Do you really think Shadow is stupid enough to fall for the illusion of someone he knows for a stone-cold fact is dead?" Like. It's almost as though they expect a Pavlovian response, like Shadow's supposed to suffer flashbacks on the spot or something. Actually kind of vaguely gross if you think about it. The real irony underpinning all this is how Forces offered to deliver a Return to Form to those Serious Games with a story about the horrors of war, but because it wasn't the flavor they wanted, people snubbed their noses and threw it in with the rest of the discards. If SA2 were remade today and no changes were made to the story and dialogue, people would probably be like "omg Shadow threatens Rouge's life wtf is this Segaaaa why aren't they besties right off the bat" or "why is Shadow smirking so much" because they have this idea in their heads of how Shadow Should Be(tm) that's based more on nebulous vibes and fanon than anything else.

This isn't even getting into how regressive it would be to push Shadow back to his SA2 portrayal when he was essentially brainwashed for most of the game. Nor how '06!Shadow and SA2!Shadow aren't even the same character. The latter is the result of the former having gone through three games' worth of character development and finally deciding to move on and not be manipulated by assholes anymore.

I feel like what people are trying to say is they want a certain vibe from Shadow, this... idk, chiller version of him? That doesn't have any discernible rough edges. In reality, Shadow's always had rough edges. He's always been a little competititive, a little arrogant, a little violent, a little bit of a petty bitch, a little misanthropic. But, again, he has multiplicity of character, and it's the context which matters in terms of whether those traits appear and to what degree.
