Matt smiled as he flung the stick into the water, looking to his best friend who stood next to him afterwards.

“How was that one?” The pair was maybe 14 or 15, not quite old enough to be out by themselves, but yet here they were, out at 2 in the morning.

“That one was a little bit better. I think the problem is that you’re throwing a stick.” She laughed and bent down to grab a rock before flinging it into the water, the rock going impressively far.

“Oh. Yeah that might be it.” He chuckles at his own dumb actions but shuts up as he watches her throw the rock in awe.

“That was a really good throw.”

“Thanks.” They turned to each other with huge smiles on their faces for a few seconds before bursting out laughing for no reason, just for the laughs.

After calming down from their laughing fit, the pair lays in the grass next to each other, looking at the stars.

“Are you going to get married one day?” It was such a wide and complex question for a 15 year old, but Matt couldn’t help but ponder at the question as he turned his head to the girl lying next to him.

“I don’t know. Maybe. Maybe I’ll marry you one day.” Those were serious words for Matt, but to help the mood, he laughs at it and soon the girl joins him.

“Maybe. Who knows what the future holds.”

I let out a breath and watched as the air left my mouth in the cold air.

I check my phone again.

Maybe he forgot?

I sigh. There’s no way Matt would’ve forgotten to come pick me up, he must be busy then.

I shoot off another text, this time to Chris.

Me: are you guys busy rn? Chris: yeah, we’re stuck in a meeting, and everyone’s phone is dead but mine 🤦🏻‍♂️ Me: oh, okay. Just let me know when you’re out. 

I drop my arm back to my side before looking around, again.

This is not how I planned to spend my afternoon. Waiting for a guy to come pick me up while I wait in the cold.

I mean, I get it. He’s a busy man, but that doesn’t stop a girl from hoping.

And what sucks, is there’s no benches around for miles. And there’s frost everywhere, and it’s cold.

This sucks. I should be on my way to pick her up. Not stuck in some useless surprise meeting.

I thought about going to the bathroom and just leaving, but then how would Chris and Nick get home?

I sigh and look at the clock, 5:53.

Only 7 more minutes.

Chris’s phone goes off, because he always has to have his ringer on.

“Sorry.” He mumbles as he picks it up and turns off his ringer, but he’s texting someone, that much I can tell.

Chris looks up at me from across the table. Seeming to have known what I was thinking, he mouths her name and it clicks.

I nod and turn my attention back to Laura as she’s wrapping up the meeting, cleaning up, all that fun stuff.

My phone buzzes in my hand and I’m quick to check it.

Chris: we’ll be out of here by 6, we’ll scoop you up on the way back to ours. Me: that works with me :)

I cross my arms over my chest, this sweatshirt was doing nothing for the cold biting at my skin.

Now, I wait.

After about 10-ish more minutes of waiting, I hear the music before I hear the car. 

I roll my eyes and chuckle to myself at Chris’s choice of song before I see the car pull up in front of me.

“I’m sorry I didn’t come get you sooner, we got stuck in a surprise meeting.” Matt apologizes when he rolls down the window.

I just shrug and walk towards the car, going to the passenger side and getting in the backseat.

“It’s fine. I understand.” I smile at Matt through the rearview mirror as Chris turns the music back up and I hear Nick groan.

I sigh gratefully when I step inside the boys’ home, the familiar scent and warmth feeling like home.

We all walk into the living room and Nick splits to his room to edit and to shower while Chris goes to his room and Matt walks into the kitchen. I move to sit in my normal spot on the couch, covering myself in one of the blankets next to me.

“Better?” I look up to Matt and take the water bottle from his hands.

“Warmer.”

“Good.” He smiles and sits down next to me, grabbing the remote and turning the TV on, finding something to watch.

I rest my head on his shoulder as he puts on The Sandlot.

I faintly hear mumbling, and feel my body shaking softly.

“Hey, hey, wake up.” I lift my head and open my eyes, blinking them a few times before I can see again.

“Huh?” I must’ve fallen asleep, because what?

As if he could read my thoughts, Matt chuckles.

“Yes. You fell asleep.”

“Oh.” I rub my eyes and flip the blanket off of me, my body being warm from the mini, or not so mini, nap.

I hear Matt chuckle.

I re-open my eyes and look at Matt.

“You hungry?” As if on cue, my stomach growls quietly.

“Well now that you mention it.” I chuckle as he stands up from the couch and extends his hands to me. I take them and stand up, stretching as he goes and grabs the car keys.

I slip my shoes back on and we walk to the garage and get in the car.

After a bit of driving around, we found a lake like the one we had back home in Boston.

We get our food and we go sit at the picnic table near the water.

“We haven’t really had a lot of time together lately.”

I swallow the bite I was chewing and nod.

“Yeah, but it’s understandable, you know? You guys just got back from tour, a lot of tiredness, jet-lag, catching up on work.” I shrug.

“I know, but I feel like we just aren’t hanging out as much as we used to. And it feels weird.” I furrow my brows and take a sip of my drink.

“What d’you mean?”

“Well… I don’t know. It just feels off not having you around as much.” Then, something in my brain goes off that makes what he’s saying make sense.

“Are you trying to say you miss me?” I chuckle, even though this is a pretty serious thing.

“Well… I-” He sighs and thinks about it.

“I mean, I guess so. Although, I’m not sure how I miss someone who I see practically all the time.” We both laugh at that.

We go silent and just enjoy both our food and each other’s company. 

I will admit, I haven’t really been around, but they did just get back from tour, a tour I couldn’t go on because of college.

“Well, I guess I have been a bit caught up in school work lately.”

“Yeah but that’s not your fault.”

We fall into silence as we finish our food. 

I get up from the picnic table and sit in the grass, pretty close to the water with my knees up. 

I feel his arm around my shoulders as he sits next to me, pulling me closer to him.

“You remember that one time at the lake in Boston when we were dancing and you pushed me in?” I chuckle at the vivid memory of Matt pushing me into the cold water. I did drag him in with me though so I got my vengeance.

“Yeah I do. You made us both sick for like a week.” I rest my head on his shoulder and I feel his head on top of mine.

I wince at the memory of his mom scolding us as she drove our shivering bodies to the hospital.

It’s moments like these that make life happy.

Just sitting in each other’s arms in the cold air.

“I never got to ask, how was tour?” 

“It was good. I may not have won, but I had fun. That’s all that really matters to me.” 

God, this man makes me fall in love with him more and more. 

“That’s all that should matter. Winner or not, at the end of the day it all matters if you had fun. I’m glad you had fun, and I’m sorry I couldn’t go with you guys.”

“That’s understandable though. You had school, I understand that.” He kisses my head, and I can feel the smile on his lips.

“I love you Matt..” It slips out without warning, but I don’t try to correct myself or take it back. Not when I mean it.

you smile, putting your phone down as you lay on your bed, closing your eyes as you let your slumber take you in with a smile on your face, remembering the night you had with jay. even dreaming about it.

but it’s taken away when your phone rings.

you sit up, grabbing your phone and answering it. you look at your side, seeing jay sleeping peacefully with his arms loosely around your waist. you press the phone against your ear. “hello?” you softly say, not wanting to wake up your sleeping husband.

many years after, you and jay got married, started a family just like you two always planned after graduating college and being in a stable place in your careers. 

“mom?” your daughter says. “can you pick me up?”

“i thought you were going to stay over there?” you ask, slowly getting out of bed and replacing your body with your pillow in jay’s arms. you took some clothes, going to the bathroom to change in. 

“yeah, but they invited people over that i don’t know and i’m kind of uncomfortable.” she says and you hum.

“alright, where will i pick you up?” you ask.

after your daughter tells you the location, you drive right away. you wait for her to get in the car and when she does, you say nothing and simply stare at her. she stares back and you chuckle. “what did your dad tell you?” you ask.

“not to go out.” she answers.

“and what did you do?” you ask.

“he didn’t say i’m not allowed to sneak out.” she says and you shrug.

she is your daughter.

“you’re not telling dad, are you?” she asks and you chuckle.

“tell your dad?” you repeat.

“mom, please?” she says, pouting. “i promise, i won’t do it again. and i told you that i was going.”

“of course, i’m not telling your dad.” you say. “if i tell your dad, he’s going to know i picked you up and i knew about you sneaking out. we’ll both be dead.” you say and your daughter covers her face, chuckling. “does your head hurt?”

“a little.” she says. “i drank a little bit.”

you hum. “it’s only five in the morning,” you say. “we’ll go home at seven. we’ll go get coffee, get you sobered up. when we get home, you tell your dad that we went out for breakfast and when he asks why isn’t he with us, you say because he was still asleep. okay?”

“okay.” she says. “you know so much about how to sneak out.”

“i did it a lot back then.” you say as you drive away, going to the nearest coffee shop. just like planned, time was spent sobering your daughter up and getting the smell of alcohol out of her. when clock strikes seven, you come back home, pulling up in the garage as you two go out and get inside the house.

when you close the door, just in time, jay, who is still in his pajamas, comes out of the kitchen with his hands in his pocket. “where were you two?” he asks and your daughter looks at you. you only nod towards jay, gesturing to her to go and greet him.

“breakfast.” she says and you look at your husband, smiling. “i got up early and mom was here, too. so i asked her to have breakfast with me outside.” she lies through her teeth.

jay nods. “were your friends sad that you didn’t get to go last night?” he asks and you daughter shakes her head.

“i’m always out with them, so it was fine.” she says and jay nods. “i got you some breakfast. i feel bad for not waking you up to join us.” she says, holding out a paper bag of food for him.

jay smiles, nodding as he takes it. “thank you, sweetheart,” he says.

“it’s nothing,” she softly says. “i’m gonna go to my room. i’m feeling sleepy again.” she says and jay nods. she comes towards jay, kissing his cheek. “morning, dad.”

“morning. sleep well.” he says and your daughter sprints to her room, looking at you with a smile. when you two hear the door close, jay chuckles. “she really is your daughter.” he says, shaking his head as he turns around to go back inside the kitchen.

you laugh. “how did you know?” you ask, following him.

jay smiles, opening the bag as he eats. “who always helped you sneak?” he asks and you smile. “she’s using your tactics, you’re using mine.” jay says and you laugh. “i’d be mad, but you bought me breakfast, so thanks.”

you shake your head, chuckling. “i love you.” you say and jay only smiles.

“i love you, too.”

I had an idea for a royal AU thingy

So, Narinder and the other bishops are royalty or nobility or something. One day, baiscally out of nowhere, Narinder is betrothed. Like his parents or Shamura or whatever just announced "oh yeah you're engaged now". Obviously this doesn't sit right with Narinder at all and he tries to argue, but it's pointless. The decision is made and he can't do anything about it. Thing is, he's never told who he's betrothed to. He thinks it's just a noblewoman for more land or a trade. Then he meets his new fiance, as they are required to move in.

The fiance is a lamb of lower status, very recently got their hands in the church and accumulating small wealth through it. The church is very influential, espacially since it effectively worshipped the royal family, so it initially didnt surprise Narinder all that much to be betrothed with a priest. Except the lamb wasn't even a proper priest, yet somehow they got a small church away from the capital an almost cult following. It became one of the strongest churches. Oh well, Narinder thought, a religious figure that preached about him? Might as well be devoted so it might make this entire ordeal somewhat managable.

And at first the lamb was very polite and kind. And then, probably because they saw Narinder (or any of the siblings in fact) wasn't as godly as the scriptures made the royal family out to be, they started standing their ground and making demands of their own, even if it was just asking for something small like "can you please give me the thing over there? You're closer to it." Narinder, obviously, wasn't one to follow this commoner's will.

These 2 bickered and fought CONSTANTLY, it's gotten to a point where no one was surprised anymore when they'd hear yelling from afar or see scratches, bites and bruises on the 2. They could not sit in a room for 5 minutes before one of them would start a fight. The lamb's chatty and Narinder's prideful nature didn't help at all.

But over time they slowly got accustomed to eachother and realized they work well together, be it in planning or combat (which the lamb was also surprisingly skilled at). So as much as they still bickered, there was no bad blood. The original dread of being betrothed turned into a well working partnership. They started to question if they could eventually love too, not knowing they were already secretly pining. Narinder was the first one to show actual affection through, feeling comfortable to hold them. The lamb didnt refuse so it's not his Problem. (who is he kidding? He wouldnt stop even if the lamb would bite his hand for it and kick him. Not like they never did that before and their wool is warm and soft so he doesnt care)

The other siblings just watched amused at their pining, making bets how long until they finally kissed and confessed their love.

Edit: oh yeah, the Lamb didnt initiate the Engagement either. It was just 2 forces above them going "yeah this random guy who made the church more powerful and the third prince should marry" (ofc this isnt exactly how it went but yeah). The lamb didnt know Jack-shit either, only being told of the Engagement the day they were told to move to the Palace lmao

It is WILD to me that from what I've seen on chaser game w fandom talk, people are much more sympathetic towards Aoyama (Itsuki's guy friend, who outed her at her workplace explicitly because of his unrequited love towards her) than Kou (Fuyu's husband, who found out that his wife cheated on him and lied to his face about it too, and who had built a life and family with a partner who he now knows never felt the same about him).

??? I have a lot of thoughts about how the finale handled that Fuyu/Kou scene but I genuinely thought it was one of the more sensible, complex, and well-done scenes of the show.

I guess as The Husband he is much more of an "obstacle" to the main pair than Some Guy Itsuki explicitly rejects romantically and even breaks ties with after finding out about him outing her. But the show even fucking tells you in the epilogue that Aoyama had a successful career after, while not mentioning Kou at all. We don't even know if Fuyu and him ended up splitting/getting a divorce etc. Presumably she left him (and their daughter??) in China before returning to Itsuki in Japan.

Like I'm sorry to defend The Man in the lesbian show, but he has genuinely not done anything wrong; arguably not even him leaving for a few days after Fuyu treated him like shit was wrong. He has done nothing but support Fuyu and their family. His one interaction with Itsuki was - although justifiably stand-off-ish and charged given the circumstances - polite and respectful. He's not even homophobic!!!!!!! When Fuyu finally admits to the affair and tells him she's actually a lesbian, his only reaction is to A) inquire if she's always felt that way and if yes, why she married him anyway, B) check in with her if that means she'd like to split up, or continue their marriage, and C) to ask her not to meet with Itsuki again if they were to continue their marriage. Like that is literally such a reasonable request, my man is so much more forgiving than I and probably You could ever be. Like there is no point at which the source of his upset is the fact that she cheated on him with a woman, specifically. He doesn't love her any less for it, he doesn't call her names, he doesn't make any snarky remarks to insult her sexuality etc (apart from pointing out that she's been cold towards him, which she HAS, girl I really hope you didn't treat him like shit through ALL of those 5 years of marriage).

And like, I'm not gonna be like "uhhhh this poor man deserves Fuyu's affection since they're married, she should at least give him another chance" like of course NOT. She's unhappy with him, she's madly in love with a woman who she'd give up everything for. She's a lesbian. She doesn't owe him any love or affection but she DID cheat on him. Repeatedly. For weeks. IN THEIR FAMILY HOME, NONETHELESS. LET US NOT FORGET THAT SHE DID VERY MUCH CHEAT ON HER HUSBAND IN THEIR MARRIAGE BED (presumably). Like girl I know you love pussy and I do too but you're still an asshole!!!!!!!!!!!

And even then. She DOES love him. She says so herself, and it's true. And I know this may be wild to imagine but love doesn't have to be romantic. She loves him, in her own fucked up way, because she's deeply traumatized from years and years of internalised homophobia, being broken up with in the WORST way possible, and falling back into (presumably) denying her sexuality once again. Falling in love with being loved, and cherishing it so much that you forget what hurt you in the first place. Like, I can 100% understand Fuyu's reasoning in that situation. Even if I've never been in a similar situation, it makes perfect sense to me. I understand it even if it's horrible. And like yeah, Fuyu's character IS a hot mess and I love her and this show because of it (lmao) but she has treated this man so badly for what we can only assume is YEARS, and still she cherished what he provided for her enough to make her falter when her betrayal was revealed. For a second, the true repercussions dawned on her, and she decided that she wasn't willing to give up her family, her career, and her daughter just to reunite with Itsuki. And so she told him that she'd never go see Itsuki again. Like that is literally one of the most (and only) logical thinking they gave to any character for this show the whole season!!!! But of course it's also wrong like girl no you can't!!! And then she changes her mind for the gay happy end!!!!! Truly I got to eat my cake and eat it too. The finale was actually like. I don't want to say satisfying because I'd really need another scene with Fuyu and Kou for that, but at least satisfying enough for me to pretend that they figured it out somewhere off-screen. Hopefully.

That was my 2am rambling on how they resolved the Fuyu/Kou relationship. And I really wish ppl liked him more because literally my man has done nothing wrong. He's not even homophobic. HE'S NOT EVEN HOMOPHOBIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aoyama however is the fucking worst and I hate that the show portrayed him in such a good light at the end, GOD I will seethe forever

"What if Perseus is Makarov's father??" I said, jokingly.

And so begins my quest of finding whether or not how logical this theory could be.

And well...

I don't think it's a joke anymore lmao.

It really is unsettling how truly similar they are.

In certain ways.

Before we begin, let's clarify something here.

Since AV de-aged reboot Makarov, this theory only make sense if you pair Perseus with the OG Makarov. Why? Because Perseus died of cancer in 1983.

Since we have yet to know how old is the new Makarov, I'm gonna assumed he's around Price's age. At least I hope so. Idk how I'm gonna feel if they decides to make him late 20s. He's gotta be born either in 1985 or younger than that. At least that's what he looks like. So, there's no way Perseus could be his father.

Now, the OG Makarov though......

Let's go through this points by points.

He was born in 1970. October 4th, to be precise (at least according to Soap's journal). There's no indication or mentioned siblings in his record. Parents or whatsoever. I have my own personal HC on this but that's another essay.

Perseus himself doesn't have any canon date of birth and place of birth. Let's assume he was born in, maybe, around the year of 1918. I was gonna go ahead and make him the same age as Adler (1937). But according to this modelling mugshot pose he pulls photo,

If he looks this scrumptious old during 1960, then he's gotta be at least 42 years old. That would make him 52 when baby Mak was born in 1970.

"Isn't he a little old to be a dad at that age?" Uhhh not really. Especially given his situation, my dude was constantly on the move busy doing spy shit all over the world. He was young, patriotic. So, perhaps domestic life wasn't exactly on his mind at the time being or just haven't found the one yet. My guess is, he found someone in 1968/1969 yada yada fall in love yada yada get married yada yada and boom baby Mak was born in 1970. Whether they settled for one kid or more, that's up to your interpretation.

Now, in terms of looks, I don't think they're exactly copy paste. We know that Mak has Heterochromia. Perseus had blue eyes and Makarov's mama must've had green eyes.

If we want to compare their pictures, let's start with in-game model.

Ehhh I'd say they score about 75-80% in terms of appearance alikeness. Big ass forehead? Check ✅️

Now, if you put Perseus real life model and Makarov MW3 model..

Yeah okay score about 95%. Especially the eyebrow scrunch thing.

Perseus was 6 ft'2. Our boi on the other hand was 5 ft'11. My dude did not inherit the tall genes unfortunately.

Perseus and Makarov both had comradeship with Imran Zakhaev.

Zakhaev looked up to Perseus, claiming him to be "a mentor, having played a part in radicalizing his attitude towards the West."

As for Makarov, we know how much he looked up to Zakhaev. He did took him in during the lowest point of his life and gave him a purpose. Something he lost when he was forced to discharge from the military. Zakhaev's protégé. Zakhaev's executioner.

However, Perseus and Mak share one common trait; their methods were frowned upon by Zakhaev.

"Imran, however, soon realized the danger of Perseus's ideas. Believing Perseus's actions would turn the world against the Soviet Union, he prevented Perseus from taking control of a facility in Verdansk, where a chemical agent called NOVA-4 was produced."

"While Zakhaev was grateful to Makarov for saving his life on the day of his assassination attempt, he also kept him in check, possibly due to the fear of Makarov's extreme methods and ambitions, which later proved correct."

It boggles my mind that Zakhaev have the patience to continously kept Makarov's in check for 15 years of their partnership. He's aware of how terrifyingly brutal he is and even though it clearly bothered him, he still kept him around.

This is one of the key points that makes me wonder if Makarov is not just a nobody that he picked off the underworld. Maybe him being Perseus's son is what drives Zakhaev to mentor him and stick with it till the end. Well, at least as long as he could control him. I had no doubt that if Makarov push Zakhaev too far and shows signs of being too out of control, he'll be dead way before Price could wrung his neck.

Speaking of methods,

"Perseus' true plan was to detonate all the American nukes across Europe and have the United States take the fall. Perseus wanted to rebuild Russia from the ashes."

"Makarov's scheme was to initiate the global conflict of World War III, and that was accomplished by massacring a Russian airport and making it look like the US was involved. Later on, he would attempt to nuke all of Europe for Russia to fully invade and rebuild from the ashes."

Their speech pattern really parallel each other;

So in conclusion, it seems that the possibility of them being father and son is really plausible so far.

Silly rant about how much I hate the school system but it’s long and angry so

School is so fucking insufferable, you’ll try talk to a teacher getting paid to teach you for two seconds and to complain about the workload and explain your other subjects and they’ll patronise you to death treating you like an overwhelmed 5 year old. I shit you not, I genuinely just asked to talk to two of my teachers for five fucking minutes to ask about them cutting back a bit on mandatory revision so I could do it during study leave to make time for more important subjects, and explained as factually and concisely as possible, and got told to “calm down and breathe” like 500 times while I was fucking talking. One of them I shit you not tried to get me to do fucking breathing exercises with her and repeat back what I was going to do, what in the actual fuck, I was genuinely getting so pissed off and I’m still mad about it lmao, all I need is a “ok 👍 I trust you, I’ll cut back on the mandatory revision homework for you and you focus on your other subject that’re pressing right now”, not to get treated like a first year in special ed.

Teachers have always been like this fr and it’s genuinely been getting to me for fucking years. You’ll go to them about anything trying to have a really really normal conversation and they’ll treat you like you’re completely fucking inept. Throwback to the time my vice principal told me off for “talking back to her” by telling her that a girl getting sexually harassed being her fault made no sense, to the time she found out I was suicidal and fucking schizing (recently actually) and went “are we not having such a good day today? :(“ and also asked if harming myself made me feel good and then went “no, I didn’t think so :(“. Oh and for good measure, throwback to the time the girls in my year were told they couldn’t wear leggings in PE bc it “distracts the male staff” and the time they called all the girls (or afab people lmfao) into the hall to tell us we were “asking for it” bc of rolling up skirts and makeup and made everyone who had them take off makeup/nails and roll down skirts one by one. And that shits just commonplace in schools fr it fucking makes me want to kill myself tbh although I vastly prefer directly insulting a full room of 14 year olds calling them whores to treating mentally ill or VAGUELY stressed people like actual fucking children. Yeah, I mean, for a ship to be similar to SatoSugu, I think one of them has to at least give off that Mom vibe like Suguru. Ngl, if Gojo were to marry Geto, he's not only going to get himself a wife but a Mom, as well, because he can be pretty childish and unhinged while Geto is there to make sure he doesn't run off somewhere. 😂

For your question, I'll go with Qiang Jinjiu.

My favorite character is definitely Shen Lanzhou. He's so pretty and smart. If he weren't so sickly, he would've been super strong when it comes to fighting. I love the fact that despite him often being looked down due to his looks and status, he ends becoming the most fearsome character in the story. Like, if you slight Ce'an, you may get off with just a few punches from him, but if you slight Lanzhou, you'll probably disappear that very same day. 😂

Next one is Xiao Ce'an. I love to see his change from wanting to kill Lanzhou on first sight then ended up becoming the most dedicated and loyal lover as the story progressed. Considering how precious Lanzhou is to me, I kinda share Ce'an's adoration for him and it just makes me happy to see him trying to spoil Lanzhou in every way.

For the third place, I'm not sure if I should say Papa Xiao Fangxu or Qi Zhuyin. They both definitely have a special place in my heart because of how strong and cool they are. Maybe I'll put Papa Xiao on 3rd and General Qi on 4th because I really love how we can see Xiao Fangxu's personality in Ce'an, especially with the way they both love and adore their partner. Qi Zhuyin is super awesome, though. Despite everyone's doubt on her as a woman, she proved to be a great and strong general (I think her troops are the most crucial there because she leads, like, 300thousand soldiers or something?).

I think it's pretty weird to put this one as a favorite character, but for some reason, I really love Ce'an's horse, Lang Tao Xue Jin. This horse always has the coolest description whenever it shows up and it's so funny when CeZhou had sex that night while riding the horse. The poor thing, LMAO. Also love Meng the gyrfalcon. I love them both. <3

As for my favorite moment, my number one is definitely when Ce'an resurrects the Libei Armored Cavalry after his father's death, that battle when they caught the Scorpions off-guard bytheir weapons and tactics upgrade in winter and pushes them all down to the Chasi Sink Hole. What I love the most about QJJ is how cinematic the battle scenes are and that one, followed by how Lanzhou desperately jumps into the sink hole to chase after Ce'an like a scene straight out of his nightmare is so uuurrgggghhhhhh 😭😭😭

Next one is the huge decisive battle with Hassen. Like, man, I didn't think I sleep at all until I finished that entire arc until Ce'an came and finished Hassen for good. From the very start when the invasion has just begun, to when the old commander (Yin Chang?) sacrificed himself outside the gate, when Fei Sheng rode all the way to lit the tower, when Tantai Hu came with reinforcement, and when Ce'an shot his arrow right before Hassen killed Lanzhou. I truly have no words; that must be the coolest battle scene I've read in my whole life.

The third one goes back a bit further to the earlier part when Lanzhou lets Ce'an go and locks him out of the city gate, so he could confront the guy who killed his teacher (Han Cheng, I think). But then Fei Sheng opened the gate for him and let Ce'an brought Lanzhou with him. That was so intense and the following hurt/comfort scene is just heartbreaking aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I'm not sure what to put as my fourth and fifth favorite scenes because there are so many interesting scenes throughout the story. I do remember two scenes that I still remember to this day.

One is when Qi Zhuyin's vice commander(?) sincerely told her that even if nobody were to remember her after this, then he would be the one to always light a candle for her, and after his death he would make sure his children continue to do the same. Qi Zhuyin really deserved that recognition after all her struggles and this show of sincere loyalty really just strikes me in my weakest point hhhhhhhhh

The other one is when Lu Yizhi came to visit Lanzhou to see what kind of man his brother-in-law has fallen in love with, but Lanzhou has no idea about it at all. And then at the end, Fei Sheng inadvertently opened the gift Lu Yizhi left for Lanzhou and went "mother of god it's a dowry" or something. xD

2) Tairn and Sgaeyl paralel with Xaden and Violet you will always be famous. Mr. "humans are too emotional" Tairn and yet he also cant sleep when he's mad at Sgaeyl ... i know what you are.

She was Xaden’s wife. She was queen. Him, the house, the city, the entire country—they all belonged to her as much as she belonged to them. Maybe she should start acting like it.

Oh we looooove a violet that knows how powerful she is, even without a signtet !! she's just understanding she can command the whole country and i love that for her. Xaden gave her the power and i think in the next few chapters we're gonna see both of them understanding that they're more powerful together than apart.

5) Now let's get into Garrick and Liam's business bc there's so much to unpack. For once Garrick can't mind his business to save his life ... he's so gossip girl coded and tbh can't blame him I too am nosy.

the worried glanced they shared when they thought she wasn't looking ... your honor they're so scared lmao.

But now on a more serious note, I loved the conversation they had about the whole affair. Both parties trying to rationalize their hurt and understanding each others sides was important. Garrick and Liam needed to understand that Violet is their ruller alongside Xaden, she's not a flower they need to protect. And if she's to rule she needs to be informed of stuff, they can't go behind their back. And ofc the order came from Xaden but they actively participated in it which is why she's so upset. But Violet also needed to understand that this secret can't just be shared like this and they did the best they thought would work under the circunstances.

I also think Violet knows she just needs time.

Oh she knows people have been talking about her marriage. But I love how protective she is about her relationship with Xaden. It's no one's business and they'll figure themselves out without outside intervention. She knows she misses him, she knows she cares, or she wouldn't be this upset, she just needs to be angry a bit more while they work on it. And she has aknowledged she doesn't want to live like this: hurt and upset, so she knows they need to work it out somehow.

Can't wait till she aknowledges he's her rock, can't wait for THAT moment.

7) Violet and Liam made up !!!

just like canon Liam is too busy defending Xaden's actions to violet *cries*. But yeah i think we need to have a conversation about nuance. We as readers, can be upset for Violet due to Xaden's behavior while aknowledging why Xaden did what he did. and i think it's what's so beautiful about this narrative. bc at the end of the day i probably would've done what he did. and i think violet knows that too even if she's not ready to admit it to herself just yet.

Haunted pt5

Applying the last of your concealer on your now golden bruise, which adorned the bridge of your nose, you let out a sigh. ‘Alright lass?’ Turning round you saw Soap leaning against the door frame. ‘Yeah. I think so. Just nervous.’ Offering you a reassuring smile he walked over to you and placed a firm hold on your shoulder. ‘You be alright lass. Keegan’s doin all the listening, you’re there just to look good’ he winked. Laughing you shoved him off you ‘fuck off Soap.’

Walking downstairs to the dining room your stomach was doing somersaults. The thought of seeing Keegan again after all this time made you feel physically sick. Taking a deep breath you rounded the corner to the dining room, all the men sat waiting for you. Keegan stood in the corner, his ice blue eyes slammed into yours within an instant. Fuck. ‘Long time no see kid’ he greeted in the silence of the room. Putting on your brave face you smiled back ‘Hey! Yeah it’s … been a while.’ Christ why were you so awkward? He still looked incredible, firm body, tall, imposing and those eyes. You almost forgot you’re meant to breathe.

Feeling everyone’s eyes on you, you quickly found your seat and sat down. Next to Ghost of course. He was able to see you were feeling tense so he placed his knee next to yours under the table. A subtle sign to let you know he was there. Brushing your arm briefly along his thigh as a thank you, you settled into the briefing.

‘Now’ Price began ‘just wanna say thank you Keegan for takin time to come and help us with this intel operation. Ghost, like I said the other day you’re look out. You’ll be on the roof opposite the cafe, keepin an eye. Soap and Gaz you’ll be outside to start. One by one go in and keep eye on Doc and Keegan. Keegan knows what he needs to listen for, Doc you’re there to make it more convincing. Get the intel and get out. Piece of piss.’ All nodding in unison you stood to get ready to depart. Everyone had left the room all bar you and Ghost. Looking up at him he could sense your wavering nerves. Planting a firm kiss on your forehead he held your hands in his ‘you got this love.’ That’s all the reassurance you needed.

Once outside the town you secured your switch blade to your thigh and another smaller knife in the neck of your boot. Pulling your flowy skirt down you noticed Keegans eyes on you. ‘Just like old times eh. Flashing me a thigh to get my attention’ he smirked. ‘In your fuckin dreams Keegan.’

‘You always are kid.’ Snapping your head to him you shot him a firm gaze ‘don’t start this please. I don’t have the mental energy to deal with you today. Come on, before I lose my nerve.’

Taking his hand in yours you began walking down the street to the cafe. Your earpiece crackled to life underneath your hair. ‘Got you in my sights. They’re not here yet, linger for 5.’ There he was, your guardian angel in the skies. Soap was sat by a fountain reading a newspaper and Gaz was lingering on the corner looking at his phone. Keegan wrapped his hand around your waist pulling you in tightly to him. Ghost looked on, an ache deep within his chest. You looked so natural on his arm, so comfortable and care free. Ghost began to wonder if that’s how you felt with him, that carefree and comfortable. He felt an ache of jealously creeping up into his chest.

‘They’re coming up on your 6, get ready.’ Taking a deep breath you tried to calm your nerves, Ghost reading your body longed to hold you, to calm you. Instead Keegan had other ideas, he also knew how to read you. Pulling you in he placed his lips on yours, knowing you were unable to pull away you could only allow him to kiss you. Extremely aware the only man you wanted was forced to watch, helpless at the situation before him. Keegan pulled away ‘you taste just as good as I remember.’ Ghosts grip on his sniper rifle grew tighter by the minute, his knuckles white hot with rage. The jealousy kicking up a notch.

You smiled back at Keegan, knowing you couldn’t do anything else. But your eyes were dead. You glared back at him, wanting nothing more than to slap him. ‘Let’s go in’ you urged, feeling the burn of Ghosts gaze. Walking into the dull cafe you saw your targets sat in a booth, luckily for you another booth was empty next to them. Sitting down in the booth you were sat back to back, in optimum position to hear everything. The waitress brought over coffee and you both relaxed into the shabby dark green leather.

Keegan was taking this couple business far too seriously. He nuzzled against your neck, finger tips grazed your thigh and planted a kiss on your cheek any time he could. ‘Careful’ you chided ‘could be giving the impression you’re not entirely over me.’

Taking a sip of his coffee he looked over towards Soap who had now entered the cafe. ‘Not entirely kid. Would much prefer to be under you.’ You snorted into your cup, placing his hand on the knife concealed on your thigh. ‘What I wouldn’t give to bury this into your fucking face’ you said with a sickly sweet smile. ‘God I’ve fuckin missed you’ he retorted.

With the Russians conversation finally switching to what you were here for, Keegan leant back against the booth. Intently listening. Locking eyes with Soap you gave a subtle nod to inform him it was go time. Soap diverted his attention back to his newspaper, ears clearly on stand by. You had no idea what what Keegan needed to listen out for. Your mind wandered back to your relationship with him. The arguments, the fights, the make up sex … the amazing make up sex. God. The thought made you blush, pushing the memories back down you tried to stay alert and focused on the mission.

With a firm slap to your thigh Keegan smiled ‘got what we need, let’s go.’ Not needing to tell you twice you jumped up from the booth and made your way outside hand in hand with Keegan. Once outside and clear from Makarovs men you radioed to Ghost, ‘all clear. Got what we needed.’ Silence. Odd.

Making your way back to the jeeps, Keegan again tried to get handsy with you. Pushing him off you, you looked at him in disbelief. ‘I haven’t seen you in years and you think we can pick up where we left off?! You’re fucking deluded. You HURT me Keegan. Really fucking bad. I would have done anything for you. And you hurt me.’ Tears pricked your eyes as the seriousness of your tone finally got through to him. He backed off finally getting the message.

Soap and Gaz rounded the corner to find you both mid argument. Ghost was the last to turn up, his eyes expressionless. The journey back was tense. You sat in the middle of Ghost and Keegan, Ghost back to being tense around you. Not even looking in your direction. Feeling how tense it was Soap turned on the radio and flashed Gaz a grimace.

Once back at the safe house Keegan filled in Price on what he needed to hear. Soap and Gaz took to the living room to relax. You however went to find Ghost. Finding him in his room you knocked, he didn’t even look at you. You felt uneasy. ‘Hey? What’s wrong?’

Nothing. ‘Simon, please talk to me?’ Nothing. He just stared at the floor. Your heart rate increasing, you were starting to feel incredibly anxious. In reality he didn’t know what to say. He couldn’t express how he felt inside, seeing how natural you looked with Keegan played on his mind massively. His mind reverted to constant negative self-talk, why would any one love him? Why would any one want to show affection to him? You were just using him because you were bored. So he did what he does best with relationships. Self-sabotage.

Standing up he towered over you ‘you gonna fuck him?’ If your eyes could have widened further they would have. What the fuck did he mean by that?! ‘Simon what are you on about?’

‘I saw how cosy you were with him. Looked like more than just actin to me.’ His eyes were cold, void of emotion but his tone of voice made up for that. ‘I told you we had history Simon …’

Without letting you finish he carried on quoting him ‘you taste just as good as I remember?’ His fists were clenched tight ‘bet you fuckin loved kissin him.’ Knowing exactly what he was doing you called him out on it. ‘Just because you cant handle your emotions Simon does not mean you get to take it out on me. You’re not the only one here with a past so you don’t get to pull this self-sabotage bullshit with me.’ Tears were welling under your eyes, a mixture of frustration, sadness and pure rage. ‘And what the fuck would you know?’ He spat.

‘You wanna know?!’ You seethed, squaring up to him ‘you’re not the only one who’s been fucking abused Simon. You’re not the only one daddy didnt fucking love. You know my father and brother would often beat me? Make me watch as they beat my mother? I was tortured in Afghanistan for 2 weeks’ you spat as you lifted your jumper to show multiple scars across your abdomen. ‘They burnt me, the cut me, water boarded me cause they thought I was someone else. When clearly I’m just a pathetic medic who doesn’t know shit, and loves fuckin everyone I see.’ Lowering your jumper your face twisted with the our emotions you were feeling.

Turning to leave he grabbed your arm, the tears were so close to falling. ‘I know you think you’re not worthy of love Simon. I’ve been where you are. But picking fights because you think you’re worthless isn’t the way to do this. And I don’t think we can carry on until you really look at yourself. You have complex PTSD, that isn’t going to go away. That’s not your fault. But how you treat other people is.’ Shaking loose of his grip you left him in his room.

Making your way to the bathroom you splashed your face with cold water. Your eyes red and bloodshot from holding in the tears. The ache in your chest was indescribable. You felt like a fool. You were finally letting yourself feel something for him. Which has now been robbed courtesy of his jealousy and emotional issues. Scurrying back to your room you curled up into your bed and sobbed, muffling it with your pillow. You allowed yourself to cry the heaviest tears, the anguish punched through your chest. Feeling as though you were losing control you noticed your breath becoming faster, your chest becoming tighter. Your hands shaking, your thoughts becoming muddled and blurry. Feeling unable to breathe or catch your breathe complete panic took over your body.

Upon hearing the sounds of complete distress coming from your room, Ghost barged in. He ran to your side and scooped you up into his arms and held you. Melting into him you tried to regulate your breathing. ‘Shhhh love, I’m here, I’m here. Breathe with me’ he cooed. You felt hot and sweaty, hair wrapped around your face as thick tears fell from your swollen eyes. He cupped your face and placed a firm kiss on your lips. ‘I’ve got you, breathe. In and out. That’s it.’ Slowly the panic started to drift away as your breaths started to regulate themselves. 10 years without a panic attack and now you’ve had a huge one in front of him.

Feeling embarrassed you apologised. He grasped your face to look at him. ‘Nothin to be sorry for love. I’m sorry. You’re right. You were completely right.’ He used his thumb to wipe away fresh tears as he kissed your forehead. ‘Come here’ he whispered, lying you down in his arms. You clutched onto his jumper, his presence the only thing making you feel safe. You slowly drifted off to sleep, the warmth of his chest against your face as his soothed your back with his touch. That was the first night that Simon had ever slept all the way through.

I do! I didn't used to in my earlier fandom days but now I'm pretty consistent about it.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

I once wrote a major character death fic for Queer as Folk where Justin died. Not really my style anymore. Back in my ff.net days I also wrote Merthur major character death fic, I'm just remembering.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I always try and do happily ever afters! A lot of my stories end with a sense of "and then they continue on their adventures, and life isn't always simple or easy", so in terms of the most pure, joyful ending? I guess I'll go living proof, which is the end of my episode series for Roswell, NM, which is just a "now they're married and happy forever" fic.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I have before, but not as a rule. Once got called an abuse apologist & incest support (oh the horror /s) for exploring the canonical close friendship (not even a romantic relationship!) between two dudes from Shadowhunters lmao. And there's a troll in the Roswell fandom who writes hilarious and idiotic unhinged rants and I've been hit by her before, but she's got a scatter-shot approach and attacks a lot of people, so, at least I know it's nothing personal.

9. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

Yep! What is meant by "what kind" here? lol. I'm pretty vanilla. Mostly m/m, but I usually don't pass over the chance for m/m/f. I actually recently wrote my very first m/f full-on sex scene ever for a little Magicians snippet, Kady/Penny lol.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

No, I don't wrote crossovers in the sense that characters from various worlds don't meet each other in my fics. HOWEVER, two of my favorite things I've ever written have been Magicians AUs that crossed over the characters from that show with the full plot from other films. One is The Old Guard (A Comet Pulled From Orbit), and one is When Harry Met Sally (When Quentin Met Eliot).

Not to my knowledge

Yeah, a few times! Used to happen a lot back with old ff.net stuff, and I recently had my good omens fic translated.

I'm co-writing a series right now! First time I've ever done it and it's a blast.

uhhhhh don't make me choose? lmao. In terms of fandom engagement and longevity I guess Queliot at this point. But in terms of... the ships that made me discover and appreciate and explore fandom in the first place? Kirk/Spock and Brian/Justin. Classics.

dialogue and tone setting, I think?

plot details (I get bored and distracted mapping things out)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

tbh I usually wince when I see it in fic? I'm not a fan. It always feels a little silly. Maybe very very sparingly if there's like a singular phrase or term of endearment or something but I'd rather just indicate that someone is speaking another language rather than write it out. I feel like it can often be tokenizing if you just have one character who's bilingual and you give them little one-liners in a different language. Idk. If the author is bilingual and doing a thing, then that's awesome. But I can usually tell when someone's just using google translate for stuff lol.

392k. a bit crazy that the next chapter of theogony will put it over 400k. wauw!!!!

3. What fandoms do you write for?

publicly? Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. privately? I have an entire folder on my laptop called 'other shit' which is just one-shots for about fifteen different fandoms which I will never publish <3

4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?

god. this is really making me look at my statistics page which I actively try not to do lol. but it's one long day, I will carry you, color theory, foreigner's god, and growing pains. what can I say, the ppl love the they lived AUs!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I try to but I'm terrible about it which is a personal failing. I am so sorry. a new strategy that helps with this is that with my WIPs I try to respond right after the next chapter is posted so the person gets a nice lil notif and they have something else to read!

oh hmmm. I guess the derelict art of letting go ending was angsty, but the whole thing was angsty. the end was bittersweet. maybe Invictus? ok new problem is I can't remember what I've written

foreigner's god! it's always clare why did you write all of that sad stuff into foreigner's god clare why did you write their deaths in such brutal detail clare I made my roommate read this and now she won't stop crying blah blah and it's never hey clare thanks for that nice ending scene where they're just married and lying in bed and vibing!!!!!!!!!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

yeah I do and I think under viking law I'm legally permitted to fistfight the commenters!!!!!!!!!!!! step up cowards!!!!!!!!!!!!

god. lmao. yes I do! not often, though, I'm afraid. I tend to write an extremely narrow niche which is just exorcising trauma through sex and personal intimacy. I have no chill :)

no I actually usually dislike crossovers lol. like theogony is a fusion of the outlander premise but I can assure you that James Alexander Malcom MacKenzie Frasier will not make an appearance. crossovers stress me out and I like to keep my little fictional words separate, if I can. ok edit: on further review I've concluded that I enjoy premise swaps (these are just AUs lol), but I can't deal with characters from multiple pieces of media interacting. it's too much. stay in your lanes, my god. this isn't super smash bros.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

not a whole fic but someone basically copy and pasted a bunch of lines from NAR into their story and then a bunch of drama ensued. it sucked and I don't like looking at NAR because it reminds me of it. I still think about the anon who told me about it, though. they were so lovely and so caring and kind to me. I hope they're doing well.

yes! both with my permission and without. ha ha.
