Maddie looked at Jazz as though she were silly for even asking. “Why, we’d catch you, of course! It’s not like it would actually be you, just a shell.”

Jack frowned. “Even though it’s not really them, I’d still feel bad if we did any of our experiments. We’d probably just exterminate them as quickly as possible so your souls could rest.”

“But we could get so much information from them! Why wouldn’t we? It’s not like they’d feel it!” Maddie shot back. Jazz sighed and walked away as their voices began to rise, indicating a starting argument. She had what she came here for.

And, glancing at the cold spot by her side, so did Danny.

College is fast approaching, and Danny knows that it’s unlikely he’ll be accepted anywhere. Really, that’s fine. It’s just… he doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life living in fear of his parents and lying to them. It would even be fine if they restrict his powers as long as they close the portal and stop all the ghost attacks! He just doesn’t want to be scared!

So Team Phantom comes up with an idea. Jazz will ask what will happen to them if they become ghosts. And Jack and Maddie both agree that, at the very least, they should be caught and Ended. There is no chance for a safe reveal. No hope that he could ever stay.

So he leaves. Jazz switches to Gotham U without telling her parents, and Sam and Tucker both agreed that they wouldn’t go to Gotham for college to throw off any leads the Fentons might have.

They destroyed the portal before they left. A very, VERY thick layer of ghost ice managed to contain most of the damage. They leave behind two prerecorded tapes, one where Danny knows they’re recording a message and one where Jazz quietly threatens the Fentons to leave them alone. She says that she would sooner kill them before she lets them lay a hand on Danny, who by the way, still feels emotions and pain, and your stupid confirmation bias is preventing you from making any real progress in your career.

(That’s all I have so far but I couldn’t stop thinking about it lol)

I am probably 100% alone on this. But I find some/most of the recent AI edits of Selena to be kinda disrespectful? I always have. Even back in the days where her face was just edited onto someone elses body in a picture.

I know someone who is and im not sure if its okay or not. They're all the same person so it would be selfcest but I also know that alters in a system can date eachother

in my personal opinion. no. i think it’s weird haha. chonny himself has said he’s tentatively okay with it just as long as you don’t involve him in it, so if you really want to go ahead (ik there’s people that do) but personally. i do not like it. just gives me icky feelings. selfcest is certainly a weird concept but not something i’m against in any sense, but in this case it just …. doesn’t feel right to me haha

as for HMSW alters/fictives dating each other, i think that’s fine. they’re not the actual canon characters, so in that sense i don’t think it matters. it really only gets me when people ship the actual characters together

so do what you want, i don’t judge anyone else for shipping them but i personally want to be left out of it and not have my designs for the characters involved in it. but chonny has said it’s fine so it’s really up to you what you do!

Reyna is visiting the Waystation, and apart from some awkwardness between Leo and Calypso still, everything is going well. They all feel like a strange second family to her, in a different way than the Legion had.

So that's why it bugs her when after dinner she notices Leo flinch out of the corner of her eye as Jo pats him on the shoulder - congratulating him on some invention or another. Jo didn't seem to notice, no one did. But, Reyna saw it.

Cornering him later, Reyna asks him point blank if Jo had hurt him at all. As out of character as it seemed, Reyna knew better than most how people could change, or only show a different side to themselves in private. But Leo looks shocked, shaking and crossing his arms in front of himself in a big X shape.

No, no, no, he insists. Jo would never. It wasn't her, it was just a reflex, Leo explains.

Reflexes come from repetition, Reyna counters, and Leo deflates slightly. His face does this half smiling thing, like his mask is melting off slowly. Before he'd died, Jason had told her that Leo wasn't exactly what people thought - or what Leo wanted them to think. They might not have liked the comparison, but he reminded her of Nico in that way.

I had a foster mother who... Leo trails off, but he makes a half hearted fist and swinging motion with a skinny arm. It said enough, he didn't have to explain more.

Reyna tells him she'll talk to Jo and Emmie about it, but that makes him blanch harder. He doesn't want them to act weird around him, doesn't want to be pitied or judged.

They're your moms, Reyna says. They're not going to pity you, they love you.

It seems to give Leo pause, a great feat for him.

You should talk to them, Reyna says again, quieter, less of her Praetor voice sneaking in. Leo agrees, and gives her a short hug before darting off somewhere.

okay now that i'm feeling a little bit more normal (lie)

can we talk about how many layers kazuki's and rei's relationship have? because it's just doesn't stop, it's everywhere.

it doesn't really matter how you interpret their relationship (qpr/platonic/romantic/whatever else), it's shown to us when "i won't pry", "i wouldn't tell"; it's shown with rei letting kazuki cook and clean (for) him; it's shown with kazuki's plans having faith on rei's abilities. they can actually sleep together for christ's sake.

they trust each other enough not to pry on each other's lifes and trauma, to the point where their relationship pretty much relays on that at the beginning.

this is specially important considering that their line of work doesn't allow for trust or companionship of any kind. making a mistake on who you trust will get you killed, after all.

but they make it work, somehow. and then, they got a child. and said child changed their relationship even more.

i will say that maybe, just maybe, their relationship before miri was more superficial (enough to rely in each other, but nothing else). they clearly aren't that close at first.

but then they had to work together on making a safe environment for miri. and even though these changes were first pushed by kazuki, rei caught on pretty fast once he realized he could be miri's papa. he's not stupid, he just ignored that that was an option he was allowed to have.

in mi opinion, this opens another door to their trust as a family. rei realizes that now part of his job is not only keeping miri safe, but also kazuki (if only to have someone that actually knows how to take care of a child).

i actually think that part of rei's trust on kazuki is shown through him not being worried when kazuki gets hurt. "he knows he's strong and a grown man, he can take care of himself".

then, you have how people see them. kyutaro, the moms at daycare... they see two people that understand each other, they see parents when they look at them. and miri? miri loves them, but she knows they can fail her (as shown by ep 12), and she still trusts in them.

miri's arrival at their lifes makes them realize that there's more outside of what they already had and were comfortable with. she shows them that they can rely on each other even if they make mistakes.

what i'm trying to say is: how their relationship is built in itself, first by chance (rei not having the energy to get kazuki away; and kazuki literally trying to fix everything), and then by actually trying.

and yes, they may still fall on their past behavior (again, kazuki in ch 12), but that is expected. healing is not linear.

what is important is that they work because they started trying, for miri and for each other. and that's what makes them a family.

You've had a rough go of life, and you're truly making the best out of it.

If I were to give you one piece of advice it would be to stop internalizing your feelings. Thinking about them and feeling them are two different things, and just because you can recognize what your emotions are doesn't mean you're actually feeling them. Also you don't have to do everything yourself, you can ask people for help without feeling like you've failed yourself somehow. Everyone needs help now and then, it doesn't negate how far you've come in recovery.

People gravitate towards you because they want what you have, but you've learned to put yourself first and that's a good thing. Don't feel bad about turning people away, the people that truly care for you will always stick around. I want to congratulate you on your happiness, I know you've fought tooth and nail for it and I hope that even when the days get hard you can look at how far you've come and be proud of yourself. I'm proud of you.
