Hey hi hello! Mic here! It’s been uh- a few months *looks away* but uhhhh- yeah- here ya go. Chapter 2 that’s honestly a filler chapter. However this is still important to the story. This is like slightly betaed so I’m sorry in advance Lmao. Also there will be more filler chapters, however they will all be relevant to the story. The feeling of the wind rushing past her was short-lived as someone caught her. Warmth engulfed her as she was held close to a sturdy chest, tense with what could have been desperation, or even fear. It felt desperate, afraid. At the back of her mind, she knew that someone else had been there, but she didn’t know who. Though Marinette didn’t have enough time to see who they were, she didn’t think they meant to make her fall. But this was Gotham, she should know better.

As Marinette was hefted up by a strong pair of arms, she heard someone talking.

“Cmon, you’re too young to die. Hey. Listen to me. You’re safe. You’re fine. I got you. Don’t worry. Hey. Hey. HEY! You there? Shit she’s not responding.. You! Dem- uh, kid, come help me.” The voice said. It sounded… muffled. She vaguely noticed something red. Like a helmet maybe? Maybe that’s why the voice was muffled…

Marinette was there, physically speaking, but she wasn’t really there, ya know? She felt something warm being put on her. And then, the more surprising thing, she felt another pair of arms. However, this time they were wrapping them around her. Hugging her, perhaps? She didn’t know.

She didn’t know who it was that was hugging her, but she hugged them back. That was all the warmth she needed.

<perspective switch: Damian>

Damian watched as one of his brothers swooped in, right on time to catch Marinette. He suspected it was Jason-well, Red Hood-judging by the blur of red he had seen. But the identity of the person who saved her was the last thing on his mind.. He was in too much shock, too much anger at himself. He caused this, by just being there.

I’m not worthy of her. I almost killed her… I… I almost murdered the first person I have feelings for… oh god… no… please, be okay. Please… Damian thought. Someone spoke, which brought him back to reality. Turns out it was Jason that had caught her, and although they didn’t have the best relationship, he was thankful.

“-ou! Dem- uh, kid! Come help me.” Red Hood called out. He almost called me demon spawn, didn’t he? Almost let it slip. Damian thought absentmindedly. He went over though. Although still panicked, he did as Jason directed him. He went towards them, took off his jacket, and wrapped it around Marinette. Jason said nothing, but Damian suspected he was raising an eyebrow.

Once Damian assured she was at least warm, he did what he didn’t do often. He hugged her. And miraculously, she hugged him back.
