What did you do in 2017 that you’d never done before?

hmmmmmmmmmm........I asked a girl out, adopted a cat, started a WordPress, went to a writers festival as a special guest, uploaded semi-regular vlogs to my yt channel, started knitting, taught 3 classes consecutively for 3 weeks, went to the gym and started attempting to draw!!

What would you like to have in 2018 that you lacked in 2017?

Discipline and motivation to maintain good habits like journaling, writing, editing, exercising, eating well and also the wisdom to be kinder to my friends when they need it most.

Did you fall in love in 2017?  

i don’t think so??? if anything i think 2017 was the year i’ve been least interested in romanticals although i was told I’d meet my soul mate at 24 by 3 different psychics so maybe 2018 we’ll be The Year lmao

What was your favorite film of this year?

“favorite” is such a hard thing for me to define, buuut my biggest “more people should see this” movie of 2017 is Logan Lucky. Just... look up the premise if you haven’t heard of it. That movie hit ALL my buttons. And at the same time was not awkward to see in a theatre with my parents and I think maybe my grandma (I can’t remember if we dragged her along but “it’s a heist movie about a NASCAR race and the rating is for language” sounds like something she could’ve been talked into, lol). Like, not necessarily a GOOD movie so much as a FUN one and that is something I value right now.

Ugh. More stuff that requires decisiveness, lol. Can’t narrow it down to specific lines, but I guess in the grand scheme of things “Chances” by Dia Frampton is probably the song that best fit this year for me. Like, okay this isn’t going as planned but goddamn it’s still an interesting ride. (Also wow okay I’ve spent literally ten years trying to get more people to listen to her various projects, soooo.)

Oof, this was weirdly hard, but I shall persevere!

I like that I’m synesthetic, because that extra layer of texture and motion to sound is really fucking interesting, and I can’t imagine music or voices without it.

I like that I’m getting stronger again, moving through the world with ease and relaxing into the feeling of energy moving through my body--that’s the real spur that keeps me exercising and pushing through for more endurance and strength. And coming back to it when I’ve gone sedentary.

I like being curvy.  I was a scrawny little kid, kinda sickly, and I prefer feeling solid instead of bony, soft and with fun swoopy lines.

I like certain pieces of my face: the full lips and the dark outlines of my irises.

I like my cackling laugh, and my Betty Rubble giggle.

The newfamily stood silhouetted against the backdrop of the golden binary sunset sky. Theymade a lovely picture, Obi-Wan thought. So lovely it sent a chill through him. Orperhaps those were the heavy sweat-damp layers of shirt and tunic coolingagainst his skin. He’d thought he might suffer a heatstroke cradling the infantagainst his chest throughout the long desert ride. Now, he missed the warmthLuke radiated as the planet’s temperature dropped with Tatooine’s twin suns. Hunchingfurther into the heavy folds of his cloak, he turned and trudged back towardhis eopie.

“Wait!”

Obi-Wan had graspedthe saddle’s pommel to mount, but paused now as Beru approached. She’d givenLuke to her husband, who lingered on the rise.
