hi! i saw you post about suggesting prompts, what about a pov outsider on post-regression hyj? it could be from the main cast or some staff from the association, tv staffs, etc etc! feel free to go wild!
Seo Byunghoon’s first job as a newly Awakened hunter is working as the secretary for the boss of HR at Haeyeon—and, by extension, Haeyeon as a whole. It’s not the glory that most hunters imagine, but Seo Byunghoon likes his job, and he especially likes the safety that it offers. He’s a C-Rank, which means that he could probably make a fair bit of money as the lead for lower-ranked dungeon teams, but he’s fond of having his limbs where they are and not having to regularly dive into near-death experiences.
Seok Simyeong is a fair but strict supervisor, and Byunghoon quickly learns to adopt his no-nonsense attitude, especially towards the overconfident hunters that swagger in, looking for a place at Haeyeon. At least once a week, an E- or F-Rank tries to come in and talk their way into joining, and it’s almost always Byunghoon’s job to turn them away.
Today, a tired-looking man walks in and tells him, “Hey, I want to talk to Yoohyun.” Byunghoon is appalled at his informality.
“The guild leader doesn’t take appointments,” he informs the visitor, trying to keep his annoyance off of his face. Guild Leader Han Yoohyun does, technically, but certainly not for people like the man in front of him. “Do you have any other business with Haeyeon?”
The man sighs like Byunghoon is the one inconveniencing him. “I just want to talk to him, okay? He’s my—tell him Yoojin came to see him.”
Byunghoon eyes him suspiciously. “Can I see your ID?”
There’s nothing wrong with the card that the man hands over, as far as Byunghoon can tell. Han Yoojin, 23, F-Rank hunter. “Are you related to the guild leader?” he asks, eyes catching on the last name.
“Yeah, he’s my brother.” Han Yoojin doesn’t look at him as he says this, though, and scuffs a shoe on the ground. It all leaves a bad taste in Byunghoon’s mouth.
Seok Simyeong never told him about any protocol for the guild leader’s relatives—as far as Byunghoon knew, Han Yoohyun doesn’t have any relatives. Not ones that would want to visit, at least. He’s not allowed to make appointments for the guild leader on his own anyway, so he reaches for the phone and calls Seok Simyeong.
“Hello?”
“Seok Simyeong-nim, a man named Han Yoojin is here to see the guild leader.” Byunghoom doesn’t like how Han Yoojin stiffens at the sound of Seok Simyeong’s name.
A sigh rattles down the line. “Oh, him again? Just send him away. The guild leader doesn’t want to see him.”
“Understood.”
“If he comes again, you can send him away then too.”
“Yes, sir.”
Byunghoon hangs up the phone, and even before he opens his mouth, he can tell that Han Yoojin knows what he’s about to say. “Unfortunately, I cannot arrange a meeting for you right now. If you have any other business with Haeyeon, please let me know. Otherwise, we ask that you leave the premises.”
Han Yoojin’s lips thin, expression darkening. For a long moment, Byunghoon braces himself to walk around the desk and escort Han Yoojin out of the doors. It wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened, but it will be the first time that Byunghoon has felt so much grim satisfaction from doing so.
In the end, though, Han Yoojin’s mouth twists into a bitter frown and he slinks out of the building without another word. Byunghoon waits, tense, for him to change his mind and barge in again, but he doesn’t come back.
Byunghoon’s first impression of Han Yoojin is an angry, resentful man, one that he can hardly believe is related to the guild leader. Han Yoojin is weak in all the ways that Han Yoohyun is strong, and Byunghoon can understand now why the guild leader chose to cut off ties with such a person.
Unfortunately, this is not the last time he encounters the man in the next few years, and his impression only gets worse.
-
Byunghoon stares down at the personnel file in his hands. Han Yoojin, it’s labeled. Byunghoon never thought this day would come even in his wildest dreams. He doesn’t bother asking Seok Simyeong if he’s certain, but he indulges in a healthy amount of doubt in the privacy of his own mind.
“He’s not an official employee, but Han Yoojin-ssi will be by on Tuesday to receive his tour of Haeyeon,” Seok Simyeong is saying. “You’ll be in charge of showing him around.”
“Yes, sir.”
Byunghoon is not looking forward to this at all.
When Tuesday comes around, Byunghoon spends the morning watching the clock, tapping his fingers impatiently as the hands creep closer and closer to eleven o’clock. Perhaps Han Yoojin will not show up at all, and Byunghoon won’t have to go through this awful duty.
Right on time, though, the front doors slide open and Byunghoon raises his head to meet the hard gaze of Haeyeon’s guild leader. “Guild Leader!” He scrambles to his feet to bow properly. “I wasn’t expecting you today.”
“I have a dungeon later today, so I won’t be here for long.” Han Yoohyun turns to the person next to him, which is when Byunghoon realizes that Han Yoojin came in with him. “Hyung,” he says, and Byunghoon is shocked by how his entire stance softens. Is this really the person who refused to let Han Yoojin past the front step for three years? “I have to go. Stay here. Don’t go anywhere.”
Han Yoojin rolls his eyes. “Yah, Yoohyun-ah, I can take care of myself.”
“Still, hyung should be careful.”
Byunghoon watches in stunned confusion as Han Yoojin waves off the guild leader like a mother scolding her son to go do his homework. “Ah, Seo Byunghoon-ssi, isn’t it?” he says, turning back to Byunghoon and sketching a belated bow. “I’ll be in your hands.”
There’s something… lighter about the man now, he thinks. Han Yoojin no longer carries himself like there’s an immeasurable burden upon his back. The anger and sadness has made way for something brighter, and when combined with the gentle way the guild leader was treating his brother, Byunghoon is persuaded to hesitantly set aside his previous conception of Han Yoojin. The person in front of him is almost someone else entirely.
“Yes,” he says slowly, still rewriting his three-years-old idea of Han Yoojin. “Follow me. We can start with the training facilities.”
This is a good thing, he thinks as he leads Han Yoojin along a familiar path through the Haeyeon buildings. This new Han Yoojin has the approval of both Seok Simyeong and the guild leader, and the man himself seems much happier for it. Byunghoon’s not sure what brought this change on, but it seems like only good things have come of it so far.
Maybe this is a new era of Haeyeon, he muses, before chuckling to himself quietly. What a fanciful thought.

Pergi Tak Pernah Seberat Ini
Kehilangan arah.
Aku makin sedih ketika baca ulang soal Gongju makan ayam goreng bareng Byunghoon.
Yasudahlah. Memang susah manusia bila hanya menunggu hidayah datang.

no time like the present.
let’s reminisce , a warm november morning in 2015. plus a cold and lonely november morning in 2019.
when her alarm rings that morning to wake her, there’s already two people sat at either side of her feet and the smell of candles burning wafting through the air. their singing starts quiet, gentle, as she sits up in bed, fists rubbing at her eyes and patting away at her subsequent yawn. she’s half asleep and her initial puff of breath doesn’t quite blow out all fifteen candles, so she tries again, and then again, until a round of cheers replaces the anticipating silence. it’s november 14th, 2015, her birthday and she’s fifteen today. in the new year, she’ll be starting high school, making new friends and expanding her horizons and she’s excited. it feels good to be fifteen.
her parents have made her breakfast themselves when she heads downstairs to meet them again. there’s not a laptop or work phone in sight as they sit at the table and eat together, a tradition that only certainly happens on a few days a year: siyeon’s birthday, christmas day, chuseok. sometimes christmas eve, too, if they can spare an hour or two for family time together. typically, siyeon only sees one of them at a time, but it’s moments like this that she’s reminded they’re a family above all else. business people, of course, but first and foremost, parents, husband and wife.
siyeon offers to wash up when they’re done, but her mother waves her off and loads the dishwasher despite siyeon’s insistence that hand-washing will always be better. ( though she is lazy, her grandparents have instilled a handful of old traditions and life teachings in her — the joy of seeing a plate you washed sparkle, the concept that you always get out of something what you put into it. she’s always valued their opinions and lessons more than anything else in the world, her grandmother the one who had been teaching her to bake and her grandfather brightening her days with seemingly endless cloths pulled from his sleeve and coins from behind her ear. she sees them far more than her parents these days and they’re her world; she hopes one day to retire as peacefully together with someone she loves. )
her parents are forced to leave half an hour later, but not until after unwrapping a few presents left in the living room for her to discover after her stomach is filled. she runs a little too fast, feels a little dizzy and sick when she throws herself down onto the floor to begin tearing off the paper, but that’s all part of the birthday fun.
the brand new ipad pro, only out the month before, and a pretty purple case to keep it in. a new coat she’d been eyeing in the shop window every time she passed on her way to the hotel. a baking cookbook almost too heavy to lift and a bunch of utensils and equipment tucked into the largest box at the base of the pile. a smaller selection of easy gifts; socks, a new notebook for recipes, a few bags of sweets she’ll likely polish off by the end of the day. she’s spoilt, but at least she knows it as she thanks them quickly with hugs and kisses and endless rambling as they begrudgingly make their way to the door.
once they’re gone, it’s only a little while before her grandparents come over and she spends the day taking photos with her grandfather on her new ipad, testing the new snapchat filters with him and saving all the best ones. later, she’ll bake with her grandmother and they’ll offer the mini cakes to her parents when they return.
she falls asleep late, happy and full of sugar. she thinks if she moves too much, she might explode but it’s worth it. her birthday is her favourite day of the year, her parents making so much of an effort to be together as a family in the morning, her grandparents over for the entire day, a family dinner and desserts made by the best bakers in all of seoul — she’s a spoilt princess and she loves it.
four years later to the day, it’s november 14th, 2019. she wakes up alone, her grandmother still lost in dreams in the next room. there’s no wax smell, no soft singing, just the pitter patter of rain on her window and the moonlight creeping through the unintentional gap in her curtains. it’s early, but even now, she can’t help it one day a year. the cold seeps in and under her duvet, tickles her skin and she wraps herself up tighter as she picks up her phone and checks her messages. she hadn’t been awake, but there’s a birthday wish from jeno from midnight exactly, as well as a couple others from friends’ overnight, and some emails offering her bargains to celebrate her special day. she replies to the real people and clears the rest, tucking her arms more closely inside her tangled sheets.
a little later, her grandmother will wish her a happy birthday with a kiss to the forehead ( which siyeon dutifully crouches down for ) and a hug that always makes her a little more emotional than it perhaps should. they make breakfast together, a small feast for two, her grandmother unable to prepare everything herself, though they’ve always mastered the kitchen best together anyway. they sit down to eat and her grandmother hands her a card filled with cash and truthfully, siyeon prefers it. though her grandmother can get around a little, and certainly can with her friends by her side, siyeon prefers for her grandmother to stay home and safe as much as possible. besides, with cash, she can buy what she truly wants, be it food, ingredients, refilled lives on some dumb mobile game, when she wants it.
which is why her heart falls when her grandmother slides her parents’ gift to her over the table.
she’s sure it must have cost a fortune and she’s not ungrateful for the monetary cost, but instead perhaps more so the gift itself — a beautiful diamond bracelet. nothing too flashy, maybe because they know she isn’t much of a show off when it comes to her family’s wealth ( and that she’d only have it deep in flour and eggs by tomorrow anyway ). the problem for siyeon is that spending so much on something so out of line with siyeon’s tastes ( she really only wears earrings; everything else is likely to be covered in dough most of the time ) isn’t the substitute for their company that they seem to think it is. perhaps they think by buying her something any stereotypical nineteen year old girl of her wealth would die to have will make up for the fact that they haven’t been with her on her birthday for four years, that they haven’t made any kind of effort to come to anything she’s invited them to or asked her genuinely how she’s coping with everything since being shipped away and dragged back. siyeon had always been proud of her parents. seeing rich parents be so detached from their children in dramas baffled her; her parents seemed to make balancing a hotel and family look relatively easy. sure, they didn’t have all the time in the world for her, but they always made sure one of them could attend her school events, her dance recitals and parents’ evenings. nowadays, it’s like she doesn’t even have parents at all.
“they love you, you know.” her grandmother reminds her, and though siyeon doesn’t really believe her, she smiles.
“I know.”

For Kihyun & Siwoo | @ofvcbe
Tumblr media
Since it was two in the morning, Siwoo was one of the last people (if not the last one) to leave the dance studio. He patrolled the floor to make sure that every one left before he goes, and that the lights were off (the rent wasn’t cheap!). While walking down the empty hallway, he noticed that one of the room was still being used so he poked his head in.
“ Oh , you’re still practicing Kihyun ?  You should take a break , you know . ”  Even though Kihyun’s group members had left, Siwoo didn’t expect him to still be in the studio.

They had down-time, and what better time than the present to go see his boyfriend? Ten was with Johnny, and Lucas was surely off with Jungwoo doing God knows what and it was the perfect excuse to selfishly steal Yuno away for the whole night. Besides, he had something he had been wanting to do - Hoon just hoped the younger wouldn’t be against it.
With an all black tote full of paint supplies slung over his shoulder, the boy made his way to Yuno’s room - only knocking once before entering.

--&& STARTER for @strawbxrryblxssxms !!          ( Dai Yu & Byunghoon )
Tumblr media
Staring on a new place is always nerve wrecking, but still Byunghoon is excited for his first day at the new hospital he was transferred too, it sure reminds him of his first day of school. After the initial greetings and being introduced to a few of the staff members, Byunghoon was directed to his new temporary office, which another one of the Doctors was kind enough to share ( probably against their own will ) given that the place were the new offices would be, ( included his ) was still under construction. “ Hello there, good morning! You must be Dr. Yu. ” Byunghoon chirped, after knocking on the open door and peeking into it before allowing himself to step further inside, “ I’m Byunghoon. And i am so terribly sorry about stealing some of your space. ” he mused a sincere apology with a shrug of shoulders as he took a glance to the empty desk in a corner that he believed to be his. “ I’m looking forward to working together, though. ”
