God idk Wilbur being commonly associated with dark academia aesthetics and vibes while tommy is commonly associated with cottagecore
And the way that dark academia kinda can romanticise a certain kind of self destruction with like caffeine addictions and all-nighters and things like that. The way dark academics sort of dedicate their entire being to studying and the way that c!wilbur dedicated his entire being to L’Manberg. Literature in dark academia and c!Wilbur’s Chekhov’s Gun - the way it all comes back to self-destruction.
And then there’s cottagecore. A simple way of life which values self-sustainability with things like sewing and baking and farming. Away from all the drama. Tommy wants nothing more than safety with his pets in a little house and he whole-heartedly believed that was achievable because he had lived it, hadn’t he? In L’Manberg?
The way that Tommy’s dreams would not have been proven possible without the suffering Wilbur had put himself through to get there. It didn’t work out in the end but it at least made Tommy believe happiness was achievable. (Tommy didn’t know Wilbur cried about it every night.)

ctommy's story is yes he was just a kid yes he was too young for everything and he wasnt ready, but at the same time you cant stay a kid forever and his story was also learning to accept the fact that you grew up to fast and learning to become a better adult. for example he has to learn to live without cwilbur. cwilbur is someone who has helped tommy make some of the hardest choices and someone who has called the shots from the very beginning. once he leaves for utah, ctommy grows up in some way. the first time this happened tommy's life hit a stand still and that on top of other things led to the lowest point in his life. now he gets a second chance, and this time he knows that life cant stay still. he has to grow up and change.

ok ok but c!discduo sun-moon parallels like
dream is the sun. he’s bright, he’s the one you think of first, he has a tendency to flare up and there’s always something going on with him. you can’t get too close to him otherwise you’ll be burnt, and even from a distance, you aren’t safe from his flames because he hurts people both directly and indirectly
tommy is the moon. he shines in his own time, and he has phases to himself- there’s the bright full moon we all know and love, but then there’s also the complete empty circle that is still the moon. it’s associated with love and peace, because it never means any harm. it’s got scars and has suffered so much to keep loved ones safe.

c!Tommy was never a vengeful character. He didn’t try to kill c!Dream to punish him for the pain he went through. Tommy wanted catharsis for his trauma and then a peaceful life afterwards. Even though he didn’t want to kill anyone (he says so to Tubbo in the finale, while theyre planning to attack Dream,) he thought it was the only choice he had.
Tommy didn’t want to kill. He didn’t want revenge. He only committed to it because he was convinced it was the only solution, the only way to find that catharsis and peace. Tommy’s happy ending was never about murder or revenge, but about healing from his trauma. Understanding Dream gave Tommy the catharsis he wanted. For him, it made it make sense. Does that mean he forgave Dream? Probably not, though it’s hard to know since the nuke came so soon after. But when Dream asked if it was too late, when he expressed for the first time a willingness to change, Tommy realized he didn’t have to kill for the catharsis & peace he wanted.
It’s not an ending that’s for everybody, and that’s okay. You don’t have to like the finale, there’s a million other shows and books you will like. But I loved it. To me, there’s no happy ending more powerful than kindness, empathy, and understanding being more powerful than anything else. Even if the loss of the old server & memories after the nukes and the Incident is tragic, to me that only makes the finale bittersweet. I’ll always enjoy a story about compassion over a story about just revenge, especially when it’s so much more fitting to who Tommy is as a character.

i got bored and analyzed a cool song to relate it to dsmp!tommy so here that is:Tw for mention of suicide and i think drug use?the song is Re-do by Modern Baseball! 10/10 song you should listen if you haven’t!! :D also you should thank @mellorphic for the reason this is being posted lmaoo okok onto the analysis JKBSBFJ--
“I wanna start from the top, maybe like a do-over. Replace the voices in my head with blind innocence”
So this line makes alot of sense for me. Tommy’s life was absolute *shit*. He didn’t have the greatest life so it make sense that he would want a ‘do-over’. Tommy was a kid when he joined the smp, he was childish and impulsive. He was largely innocent of how shitty the world was. He wants that innocence back, he wants to be able to be a kid again. The ‘voices’ in his head could be chat, but thats more of technos thing. I think the voices he’s talking about is his internal thoughts. His suicidal ideation, his impulsive things. C!tommy once said he was everything he didnt wanna be and that really reminds me of this line.
“I wanna complete re-do, maybe change my name. Report the losses grab the claim, it's a shame it's such a shame”
Nothing to say about this line besides the ‘its a shame, such a shame’. Tommy *could’ve* had a great life. He *could’ve* been great. Thats not me saying he wasn’t great or anything, i mean great in tommy’s standards. I dont think he regrets a lot of his impulsive actions (dueling dream/giving him his discs for lmanburg/ burning georges house down) but he’s not blind and he does see how they altered his life. He thinks its a shame that he never became anything of himself. He’s not obsessed with legacy or anything, he doesn’t *want* to be something, but he can recognize its a shame.
“We're pissing away our time 'cause we're pissing away these beers. No monumental moment ever came from saying ‘Come on dude, just take one more shot’.”
Nearing the end of the smp, when wilbur left, tommy really as just pissing away his time. He had no one really. He wasn’t *doing* anything with his life. He didn’t have anything to live for and he lived in paranoia and when it came down to it, he’d rather kill himself and everyone else around him than live with the idea that dream was still out there. IK the song is talking about beer when they say ’just take one more shot’ but i think it fits tommy more if their talking about giving something another shot. Tommy isn’t one to give up, he always gives things, people, objects all ‘one more shot’. Almost nothing good ever comes from it though. He’s said he doesn’t believe in second chances, that he believes in people. In not giving up on others. I think thats a bit of dangerous thinking on his part, especially with the people hes always around.
“Try to, try to forget, that your bones will dismantle And the dreams you had, they'll collide with time”
Tommy wants to forget that he’ll die soon enough. He’s both terrified of and welcoming of his death. I think he wants to forget what limbo is. (btw I'm taking bones will dismantle as a ‘you're gonna die’ type metaphor idk man). Tommy had dreams, ofc he did. He mainly just wanted peace. He wanted a community. He wanted to be friends with so many people and do impulsive things. He wanted to see the good in people, even when there was nothing there. But when he does these things, when he makes friends, when he has a community, it all comes crashing down around him. He cant keep that peace for forever.
“Your unrequited love for life will surely- Halt that I'm thinking way too much at night”
Tommy loves things easily and hard. Including his life at one point, but ofc he hardly receives the same time of love he gives so freely. He doesn’t let him think about this though. He doesnt want to think about his life. He stopped going to therapy, he stopped going out. He started taking invis, so he could feel at least somewhat on the outside what he felt on the inside. invisible.
“Maybe I could just move away or go extinct like a triceratops, But I love loving, watching movies, sitting back and also breathing”
Tommy thinks about how he could just leave the smp like wilbur, he could just sail until he reached land, far far away from the smp. But.. he could also just kill himself. He could just die. C!tommy has made plenty of references to suicide, mainly during exile. He *could* do these things, but he still loves too much. Even with how bad he had it, he still loved doing things. He couldn’t leave without leaving the good things too.
“My family and friends would be crushed, but is it enough? (Oh no, it's not enough)”
His family and friends are not the reason he’s alive. He could say they are, but their not. What has any of them really done to keep him alive anyways? They are not the reason he’s not moving away or ‘going extinct’.
“Oh, the future freaks me out, but I guess I could just, Curl up in a ball and think”
At the end of the smp Tommy doesn’t have any plans for the future, he barely has anyone, he’s so caught up with the past he cant even begin to think of the future unless someone else is leading the conversation. (tubbo and him talking about L’Moonburg)
Then its just the chorus again, twice but in the second time theres new lyrics in the back
“Try to, try to forget (I won't be breaking any barriers) That your bones will dismantle and the dreams you had (so I'll keep thinking the future) They'll collide (future freaks me out) With time, your unrequited love for life (I won't judge you if you think the same) Will surely halt that (so let's keep thinking) I'm thinking way too much at night (well the future, the future freaks us out)
This feels like a conversation between tubbo and tommy, with the parentheses being tubbo and the normal part that i’d already analyzed as tommy. Tubbos more hopeful at the end of the smp, talking about L’moonburg, excited to start a new country with tommy. He’s not planning on doing anything new he’s not breaking any barriers. He’s just thinking about the future they’re gonna have together as co-presidents, as best friends. Of course, the future freaks him out too, but he doesn’t keep himself from thinking about it like tommy. He understands why tommy’s afraid though, he wont judge him for it. He knows it freaks both of them out but he wants a future together so he tells him to keep thinking. <3
----
ANYWAYS! That was it ^^ I’m open to critism and i’d love to hear yalls thoughts too! sorry for any typos tho ^^
if i was artistic enough i’d draw the ending part like a convo between tubbo and tommy. who knows i might do it anyways LMAO

Tommy stood near the edge. The warm air hitting his face, almost evaporating the tears slowly rolling down his cheeks. There was nothing for him to do in the moment but think even then he still feared for the worse.
First it was L’manburg, somewhere safe and warm.
Then it was Manburg and Pogtopia, he was so lost and found that Wilbur even lost himself to the chaos and madness.
But now he was in excile. Put into a personal hell by his best friend. All Tommy wanted was for him to wake up and be home again, the smell of fresh bread from Niki’s bakery mixed with the burning from the fireplace, people, friends, talking and enjoying themselves, Wilbur sitting next to him gently coaxing him awake for breakfast. This was what he wanted again.
His eyes fluttered open and he was a step closer to the edge, then they closed again. He let out a deep sigh.
The spring days of him laying in the grass with Wilbur’s guitar filling the air came to his mind now. Ranboo hiding under the nearby tree because he was paranoid of the rain until he came and lied down next to Tommy. The soft blanket cushioned them from the freshly trimmed grass.
Tommy opened his eyes again for a moment. The ledge was now only two steps away.
Technoblade teaching him how to hold a sword while Phil watched on in worry. It was only wood but “knowing Tommy it could still cause some damage.” Phil’s words not Technos for once. Techno was kind and patient when Tommy started to give up, but he was also strict and ordering when he needed to be. Whenever Tommy did something right he remembers the warm embrace of Techno, him getting caught in Technos cape, and the soft words of encouragement and joy.
One more step.
L’manburg. Oh the great L’manburg. It was in ruins. There once was good but now, now it’s corrupted. Tommy didn’t know where he went wrong. He thought if he had tried harder and hadn’t made the stupid joke with the disks would he be standing right where he was now, or would he be living all the thoughts and wants again? He’ll never know, but he didn’t care.
“No one cares about me,” He thought.
Knowing it wasn’t true. He was trying to make himself feel better, but what could he do? Everyone he loves Is gone, dead, or hates him, everything he fought for is gone, and everyone he looked up to has just gone insane. Had he gone insane? Surely not. He had so much to live for right?
One final step. . .
“Tommy it’s not your time to die..”
No. It is. Let me go, don’t do this Dream. Why me? Don’t do this! I have NOTHING and NO ONE-
“It’s never my time to die…”

Writing about c!crimeboys because im sad
I wanted to start with Wilbur because people seem to misunderstand his character a lot. Wilbur is a man who lost his sanity as his creation burned with a match in his hand.Wilbur’s revival proves to be his closure, after hurting the people he cared and fought with and built a nation with he’s looking for a end to the pain.
As Wilbur looks to his brother through all the damage and decay. Wilbur looks down at the sword stabbed through him, he looks at the blood that drips from the sword and onto the rough gravel. Finally as Wilbur looks to a nation once his what looks back is destruction. He smiles and finally rests.
Wilbur changed in limbo. He realizes how he was dumb. He realizes the pain he put not only himself in but others, people he cared for, tommy. Wilbur wants to relieve people of their pain so maybe it won’t only help them but him as well.
As Wilbur stands in-front of tommy he sees the kid in a uniform. With his eyes lite up with determination and a flame in his heart.Wilbur also sees a kid that’s tired that just wants peace and for all this war to go away. Wilbur looks at tommy as the kid scared that his best friend may or may not be safe, the kid that believed you when you told him he would, the kid that held on hope and didn’t give up on you. Wilbur sees the kid that he hurt and he doesn’t want to see that.
So Wilbur ignores it for as much as he can because apologizing would mean he would have to recognize he hurt the person he cares about the most. Wilbur takes tommy on little missions with him as Wilbur hesitates to apologize every time. Maybe Wilbur will know how exile went down and maybe he will learn why tommy isn’t the wide eyed kid he once was.
Tommy watches the man he once viewed as a hero the man who built him a home and a man who was a leader crumble. Once Wilbur is revived tommy watches Wilbur pick up the pieces of a broken man.Tommy is still holding on. Tommy believes Wilbur can change and that he is. Tommy will stay by his side because really tommy always had Wilbur and since he was gone long before he died he doesn’t want to lose him again. Tommy doesn’t want to lose his brother again. Tommy listens to his brother sing his abusers praise. Wilbur knows nothing of what dream did only bits and pieces but he can’t help but feel betrayed. Even when tommy wasn’t in exile dream was the main enemy dream caused the wars, dream caused pain to his friends, and dream caused tommy to lose his brother.
In conclusion
They both care and love each other they just are scared they will hurt each other.

If there's something I love is seeing how people draw c!Tommy. Especially about his age.
Some people draw him with more childlike features. He looks younger, more "helpless" in a way. You can really see it's a child soldier. Someone who is not ready in any way to be in those situations, but is there anyway with a confident face and a loud voice. It's very visible he should not be there and how wrong it all is.
But other people draw him looking a bit older, looking more like someone who's soon to become an adult. In a way he looks less innocent, even when he's still the victim. He resembles Wilbur a bit more, and he doesn't look as helpless when next to Dream. But here's the thing, he's still a child soldier. He might act like he knows what he's doing, use big words, and act all powerful. And it's not that visible how wrong it all is, but it's still there.
You'll look at him and see this seventeen-ish years old guy, and, in a first glance, it won't feel as wrong. But when you really look at him, that's when you notice how vulnerable Tommy is. Surrounded by people who are more mature, more powerful, and who hate his guts. And you'll start to notice how easily influenced he can be, which seems unlikely for someone who always expresses what he thinks. And you'll start to notice he was never as ready as he says he was. And you'll start to notice how most of the messes he got himself into had completely disproportional consequences to him.
And after all of that, you'll look at him again, and maybe he even looks a bit older, but you can still see it. The child behind the loud voice and the bright smile, holding a sword that is just his size, but will always feel a bit too big for him.

What's often interesting to me, is Dream spells it out in the finale and people often still don't get it, so I thought it'd be interesting to see what he was actually referencing here. To see where it all started.
[24:27] Tommy: “That first war, me and Tubbo versus you–how it should have ended–why’d you take it?” Dream: “Tommy, you ambushed me and killed me. You stole all my shit! You tried ambushing me in a little cave–you don’t remember that? I feel like you just–your memory is just–gone.”
So here is the ambush Dream is talking about, where Sapnap and Tommy basically decide to just kill Dream and then kept all of his shit. [Death 1]
He gets killed again when he tries to take back his stuff. [Death 2]
Tommy kills him for fun right after he respawns with nothing. [Death 3]
Then after Dream gets his stuff back (via our boy Punz) and he takes the discs to get Tommy to stop, he gives Tommy back his items. But unsatisfied, Tommy goes after Dream, gets one of his discs back and hides it in the little cave. Dream tries to find it, while Sapnap and Tommy try to stop him. They are unsuccessful until, Tubbo brings them axes and they sneak up and corner Dream in the little cave, ambushing and killing him. Once again, taking all of his shit, (including, yes, the other disc.) [Death 4]
[27:58] Tommy: “Think about that, we could’ve been friends but no because you have to figure out the reason you have to get–”  Dream: “Yeah we could’ve but you–you ruined the chance of that long ago. It was you.” Tommy: “I ruined it?” Dream: “You ruined it!”
And I don’t think it’s unfair for Dream to say that in the finale, because for Dream it’s this stream early on, these moments that started it all. It’s these instances of of Dream getting murdered and robbed and made fun of over and over. Him, trying to not just make peace for everyone, but also reclaim respect and peace for himself. It’s Tommy chasing after Dream when he has nothing to kill him and rub it in his face. It’s Dream, even after all of that, giving back their items. It’s these instances of violence taken too far to the point they clearly pissed Dream off and didn’t care or follow his very simple request of just giving an apology and his belongings back that shape my distaste for Tommy and sympathy for Dream. It’s these moments that I feel like are gone from Tommy’s and our memory that highlight a different story.
[28:34] Dream: “Yeah, we could have been friends if you weren’t a little shit.”

The thing about c!tommy that’s so insane to me is that, well, he isn’t especially brave? Like he is never opposed to just running from a fight, he will scream and cry and plead and sob if tubbo pulls out an axe for like half a second. He is really not a paragon in any sense of the word.
AND YET PROTECTION AND FIGHTING IS LITERALLY ONE OF THE WAYS THAT HE SHOWS AFFECTION like if there is a mob hitting you and ctommy loves you that mob is going to die. If you want to hurt his friends he will bite you and claw your throat out. He is not a brave boy but he is a loving boy and I can gonna be sick

Okay i NEEEED to rant about Pogtopia because I know it was a ravine and shit but I need people to consider: lava caves
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(all photos taken by me cause I explored one the other day and that’s where I got this idea)
Lava caves or lava tubes are HUGE super long caves that were carved out by literal lava flows and now just sit there and they’re cool as fuck
they’re cold as shit and the roof can vary from being dozens of feet above your head to being so low you have to crouch
there’s piles of rocks and ice formations and sand gardens and they are PITCH BLACK if you don’t have any lights and they paths can be crazy wide or super narrow and the ground is full of drop offs
ones that are made for people to explore have railings and stairs in certain places too and some even have built in lights or like the one I explored let you rent a flashlight
also a fun sidenote the ground is super hard packed sand full of holes from water dripping and it’s so hard packed that you don’t leave footprints (this would not help with Wilbur’s derealization)
anyways I think this would all work SUPER well for pogtopia cause cold/dark/shifting atmosphere/adding railings and pathways is already a thing in pogtopia
some more images that I yanked from google:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyways PLEASEEEE consider spreading my vision Pogtopia lava cave/tubes for the win I’ve never been more right about anything in my life

Does anyone remember that time cWilbur tried to weaponize the pit against cQuackity in the custody battle stream and he said something along the lines of "Don't trust someone who would have fought you in the pit" to cTommy?
Because I do.
That was fucked up.
Like, straight-up, not only incredibly manipulative, but also fucked up on a fundamental level. Wilbur is the one who dug up the pit all the way back in Pogtopia. He's the one who came up with the idea of Tommy and Techno fighting in there. He's the one who pushed Tommy and Techno in. He's the one who kept goading them on.
The only person who thought it was appropriate to get Tommy beaten to a pulp because he dared being angry at the guy who executed his best friend on the orders of a dictator is Wilbur. No one else thought of it. No one else orchestrated it. Even Mr. Techno "The only universal language is Violence" Blade was hesitant. Not Wilbur though! Motherfucker cheered throughout!
And then, after the brutality and cruelty of that situation, he had the GALL to try and use his own actions to discredit someone else. Because the way he phrased it cannot be spun around into a self-deprecating "you can't trust me" moment, there was none of that. He was straight-up just being a dickhead.
And then people wonder why Tommy didn't trust him after he came back to life and treated him like a ticking time bomb. Maybe Wilbur shouldn't have gaslit, girlbossed, and gatekept so close to the sun constantly!

Have you ever considered the parallels between BeeInnit, the bee, that c!Tubbo received as a gift and c!Clingy’s relationship during exile-presidency? If you remember c!Fundy saying “It’s just like Tommy, just not as annoying” to which c!Tubbo responded with “Just like Tommy”, the connection becomes apparent.
c!Tubbo’s bee being kept on a lead, occasionally poking at c!Ranboo, could symbolise c!Tommy’s deep attachment to c!Tubbo, as well as suggest that c!Tommy considers c!Ranboo his friend and trusts him, despite their relatively short time knowing each other.
c!Tubbo leaving the bee behind, causing it to fly around in confusion and hesitation, could represent c!Tubbo’s decision to prioritise the country over c!Tommy, resulting in a fracture of their connection; as well as c!Tommy believing that his best friend hates him, as he grapples with exile.
c!Ranboo picking up the bee for c!Tubbo to prevent it from getting lost and ensure its safety, could signify the idea of c!Tommy seeing c!Ranboo as his only friend besides c!Dream, and c!Ranboo reassuring him that people, and especially c!Tubbo, genuinely miss him.
And finally, c!Tubbo reclaiming the bee may be a metaphor for c!Clingy’s eventual reunion.

I think, in all honesty, Tommy’s finale is going to be a bit like the ending episodes to Bojack Horseman, in a way. it’s going to be dark, gritty, and seem like there’s no hope left. but then there’s a small chance. a small chance at getting somewhere. and yeah, we certainly won’t get him recovering straight away, but we’ll get a neutral ending where he’s starting to make peace with himself

EVERYOJE SHUT UP SHUT UP, FUN THOUGHTS TIME. When c!Schlatt died of a drunken heart attack, he was, of course, drunk. when c!Quackity went to talk with his ghost, said ghost was also drunk. Glatt's memories of being alive seemed a bit blurry. As if he was hungover. c!Wilbur was happy when he died (smiling atleast), a result of having gone insane. ghostbur had only happy memories, and was almost always happy.
c!Tommy was scared when he died. He was trapped with his tormentor for weeks, and thought nobody cared. He never had a ghost. And he came back a shell of himself. Empty.
So theory, the ghosts are mirrors of what people felt when they died and Tommy being a "shell of himself" is a reflection of him never having a ghost while dead. I'm

my favorite thing about the doomsday stream is when c!techno is trying to explain how he felt dehumanized and twice c!tommy follows this by bringing up the discs like. i'm sorry, no wonder he blew your home up, tommy, maybe just stop and listen for a second!
